It’s Long Past Time To Silence The Regime’s Mouthpiece

It’s Long Past Time To Silence The Regime’s Mouthpiece

The kerfuffle over the firing of National Public Radio (NPR) news analyst Juan Williams for an opinion he expressed on Fox News has put the spotlight on an issue that those favoring reducing the size and scope of Leviathan government have sought for decades: Ending taxpayer funding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB.)

CPB, the parent corporation of NPR, received $420 million taxpayer dollars last year. It used the money to spout regime pabulum and leftist ideology. That it is favored by leftists is made evident by its recent gift of $1.8 million by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation to fund the hiring of 100 journalists “to bring greater transparency and accountability to the workings of state capitals across the country.”

To understand just how “progressive” NPR is you need only look at its actions in firing the liberal commentator Williams for expressing on Fox News his opinion that he felt uncomfortable on a plane that had Muslim men dressed in Muslim garb, while it has consistently given a pass to others like Nina Totenberg when they express their opinions from a left-wing perspective. The Left doesn’t tolerate dissent or stepping outside the favored lines of the regime.

While an argument could be made that there was a legitimate need for alternative stations while broadcasting was in its infancy and most markets had access to only two — or at most three — television channels and a few AM radio stations, CPB has long since outlived its usefulness. Now there are hundreds of channels (although they’re all owned by about six corporations) and the AM and FM bands are full (again, owned by a few corporations) and satellite radio is growing.

And then there is the Internet, which is the true source of truthful information (for the time being) that doesn’t conform to Big Brother standards.

Discussing the Williams firing, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow recently asked whether the GOP will now go after Big Bird. Let’s hope so. And let’s hope they don’t stop there, but include unConstitutional entities like the Department of Education and the Department of Homeland Security, for starters.

And if they don’t, then in two years we need to elect a Congress that will.

NPR has had years to convince us that it has our best interests at heart (via money that is wasted in the name of ‘public broadcasting’). I have no idea how many billions of dollars NPR has waded through in this attempt, but they haven’t convinced me that my life will be better if I call myself an NPR ‘fan.’
NPR has much in common with typical social engineering projects, including Social Security, Medicare, or any ‘war’ you care to name [drugs, poverty, inflation, cancer]. That is, if it hasn’t been a complete failure yet, it will be.
I get more out of Dr. Demento or Frank Zappa’s radio channel. To me, NPR has all the appeal of fingernails on a blackboard or the airhead musings of Al ‘felons make great voters’ Franken.

    • Robert Smith

      Hey sc!

You said: “NPR has much in common with typical social engineering projects, including Social Security, Medicare, or any ‘war’ you care to name [drugs, poverty, inflation, cancer].”

Please cite a specific. They have tons of articles on line. Maybe you can reference one to show us what you are basing your “reasoning” about NPR.

      • http://drudge 2 sides

Robert I read your comment and decided to look at NPR. The very first article showed bias. All it referenced was GOP fund rasing not a word on Dem. It may have been a fluke so I’ll keep looking.

The evil ‘regime mouthpiece’…Barney and miss Piggy and classical music. Pretty bad and VERY evil.

So, now NPR is too liberal because they fired a liberal? WOW,amazing. Come on Bob Livingston, all you rightwingers do is lie in wait for any chance to bash and trash PBS and NPR…same tired, old story. And you say that the CPB recieved a whopping $420 million last yr? That’s about 10 days worth of killing in Iraq. Sounds like a bargain to me.

          • Jana

Define too liberal. I don’t claim they are too liberal, they are what they are, just plain liberal. And, like most libs they are not fair. They aren’t fair to their own, and their not fair to anyone who opposes them.

          • Michael J.

            Denniso,
Juan Williams received the same treatment that all “Useful Idiots” can expect. Once he out lived his usefulness, he was terminated.
“After the faithful followers of the Marxist Utopia become disenchanted, they will be eliminated with extreme prejudice for becoming a threat to the regime” (Yuri Bezmenov)

          • denniso

Juan Williams made a stupid, unobjective comment that was construed as biased by many…that’s why he was canned.NPR actually tries it’s best to be objective and journalistic and has become so tepid that many liberals don’t even listen anymore. On the other hand, there is nothing objective or journalistic about Fox,O’Reilly or Murdoch…they spout often mindless opinion, and Williams lost credibility by saying what he did on such a show and network.

It also showed some ignorance on his part,if he thinks that terrorists would dress in Arab clothing and draw attention to themselves. Have any terrorists done that? No, they try to blend in and look as ‘normal’ as possible. He was wrong in saying ‘muslim’ clothing.Millions of Muslims, here and abroad, dress in ‘Western’ clothing. The only Muslim clothing is what the more conservative women wear…veils, burqa, scarfs…

          • Michael J.

            Denniso,
According to my read, you just said that Muslim’s wear western clothes in order to appear normal. Doea that mean that traditional Muslim clothing is abnormal? Careful, with that kind of talk you may
            be-headed for disaster.

        • James

2 sides, So what, if NPR is biased? Everyone is biased.

      • DaveH

This one sounds very unbiased, Robert. NOT:

And come on, you have to live in a cave to think that media systems, who get a large part of their funding from Big Government, aren’t going to tow the Big Government line.

      • old white guy

things start out as one thing and morph into another. how can anyone listen to elanore clifft or whatever her name is and not go insane.

    • William

S C you are so right I have said for years it was and is a vast waste of the tax payers dollars funding NPR_CPB or any other propaganda outfit. I have never liked NPR nor the drivel they produce, I have written to my Congressmen and asked them to introduce a bill to defund NPR and I hope every one else will do the same. thank God Jim Demint of South Carolin is along with some others and if my people want my vote they will back the bill,

      • EddieW

Like you, I wrote to both my Senators to defund NPR when I first heard of the idea…The government has no business funding radio or tv that could be used for propaganda purposes!! Have you seen the video Endgame? It’s over 2 hours long, but really spells out what some are wanting to do to this country and the world!! Here’s a link to it!

  • http://libertymind.wordpress.com Patriot1776

NPR, or National Propaganda Radio, has long out lived the usefulness it never had. Why do they care what the personal opinion of an employee is when they don’t have to worry about ratings anyway?

    • Robert Smith

      Hi Patriot,

You ask: “Why do they care what the personal opinion of an employee is…”

When an employee goes onto Fox News with a bigoted point of view and spreads fear to millions then it is in the interest of NPR to take note and if necessary take action.

I know it’s hard to swallow for the extreme right but NPR is the most neutral voice on the airwaves.

If all those right wing opinions are so great why can’t they stand up to a little sunshine?

BTW, please show us a spicific case where NPR gave out false information. Please show us a specific case where they advocated a particular point of view. You may not like the facts but America needs to hear them.

      Rob

      • spike

        Robert-
Perhaps you could inform me as to how someone’s fear, or their personal opinion about getting on an airplane with muslim dressed arabian looking men is bigoted. I would have exactly the same gut reaction. And let me tell you something else. The muslim nation at large is referring to America and Jews as Infidels and the “Great Satan”…and we’re supposed to embrace diversity. You need to grow the heck up, and embrace reality, sir.

        • William

Spike I really dont think he is capable of understanding reality. he sounds very pathetic to me,

        • Jana

Bigoted? You mean like CNN? Like Rachel Maddow? Like All of the Left Wing Main Stream Media? Like Robert Smith?

        • Karolyn

NPR does not feel it is in keeping with their agenda for journalists to voice personal opinions, and I can see nothing wrong with that. Journalists are not supposed to have personal opinions when they are talking about issues. I don’t think Juan should have been fired, but I’m sure not the boss. I think it was a kneejerk reaction. As I’ve said before, I listen to NPR all the time, and the range of information they provide cannot be found anywhere else. It is not only politically informational (interviewing both sides), but also provides information about books, music, movies, history, etc.

          • Jana

I wish no journalist would voice his opinion, but just state the facts.
We have Joy Beher and Maddox and Freddie Kruger as well as Hannity and Limbaugh who do not claim to be journalists, and they voice their opinions quite well. Beher has been voicing her opinion like a garbage mouth recently.

      • William

spoken just like a KOOLAID drinking liberal robert. Juan did not say anything that was biggoted. but in your KOOLAID soaked mine you wouldn’t understand. did you stand and cheer on 911 as themuslims did? tell me what usefull information NPR has dissimenated over the years. I used to work for Armed Forces Radio and we would have been courtsmartialed for giving out wrong information. geoff the KOOLAID robert,

      • alpha-lemming

        Whew….. where to begin??

On a network where Juan is called “conservative” (please cite a conservative NPR contributer of a George Will or Charles Krauthammer grade) because he went on FNC, is left-wing to point of being handicapped. Political corretness IS censorship (can’t get much more anti-Constitutional than that), IS why he was fired, and why the Tottenberg/Madcow hate contingent gets a pass even when wrong because slander of the enemy trumps truth. So they’re neutral maybe in a “neutral shade” of Socialism kinda way.

Right wing voices are validified every day by their extreme success on “commercial radio” where IDEAS must compete for audience, and the NPRs and Air Amerikas can only survive via subsidies. And don’t give me any “stupid” or “programmed” listeners BS. Reading and radio (unlike TV) requires effort by the reader/listener and are interactive mediums. The reason progressive radio has never succeded is because it’s 99% emotion, and the nano-second you begin to think, the ideas NEVER (we can tax ourselves to prosperity??) stand up to scrutiny.

NPR-BS?? How about climate change is man made and we can alter it more to our liking??

        • Karolyn

NPR REPORTS BOTH SIDES. You just hear about the side you don’t want to hear about.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Now Karolyn,
How, if NPR reports both sides would it be possible to only hear the side you don’t want to??? they will never report both sides as then they would sway too many progressives to the “dark” side…. conservativism!! (Say it ain’t so Joe!!)

      • John

        Robert,

        Bigoted point of view???

        Don’t be so ignorant.

I saw the interview several times, don’t try and spin the comments that Juan made, as you people are so weak at doing.

Try and be a little more intelligent if you are going to try to take someone’s comments out of context and put your mindless liberal spin on them.

      • old white guy

jeez, you don’t read much do you?

      • DaveH

Neutral, my butt, Robert. I can’t even stand to listen to Juan Williams most of the time because he is such a Big Government sycophant. But he just said he was afraid to get on an airplane when there were obvious Muslims boarding. Are you being prejudice when you don’t climb into the Polar Bear cage at the zoo? I mean, you don’t know those Polar Bears are man-eaters. How can you be so rude as to snub them?
It’s called smart to not take obvious risks, Bigot.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Robot Smith, You write ” NPR is the most neutral voice on the airwaves”, yea ! and you don’t suffer from cranial, rector-al insertion.

        • Karolyn

My, aren’t we a mature adult!

          • Claire

I will no doubt create an “uproar” but I really do not care. MSNBC is LEFT WING –Fox is RIGHT WING. NPR is LEFT WING–Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Levin is RIGHT WING. Neither TV channel or the people are “unbiased” nor are they “fair and balanced.” It is as simple as that.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Karolyn,
WE??? Are you expecting?? If so Congrats!!!

          • Michael J.

            Claire,
I agree, and thanks for the Clairification.

  • Anthony

As most already know – I am a Conservative/Libertarian. And, yes, there is such a thing. I once held the ignoble position of calling myself a Conservative-Republican who had never in his life ever voted Democrat, based on the events he saw during the childhood days of living under LBJ and watching the events around Nixon, Ford and finally Carter …. to be given hope of a sort with Ronald Reagan.

In all that time – not once, in any avenue of the information stream, did we ever hear the true nature of what was happening in the background of MEDIA.

Bob Livingston speaks of George Soros giving a certain amount for the (clears throat) betterment of society overall. That grand speak of the Proletariat.

Then, you have to remember that back in 2003 there was another GIFT to NPR of about $200-million from someone who simply felt like she was doing a good thing….

    http://www.current.org/npr/npr0309kroc.shtml

The hubbub over that gift sent ripples throughout the Country on many levels. A gift like that should have meant that NPR could finally become self-sufficient and no longer need to suck on the teat of Big Government. Mainstream Media certainly hushed that discussion up, quite quickly. But, then, are you seriously surprised as to how it all works…. now that we are much more well-informed?

Remember my posting of a webpage awhile back recommending you should bookmark it and refer to it often? Well here it is again – and yes, you seriously SHOULD refer ot it often, over & over again. In fact, maybe you should print it out and hang it on the Frig.

    www-whoownsthenews-com

Juan Williams certainly had a streak of honest deliberation… at exactly the WRONG time. Maybe he finally got tired of that boot on the back of his neck. The one thing I do know, is he carried the Oligarch’s water for a long, long time. And, he got his dime for it, as well. Much to the expense of many other peoples. I hope his reflections bring him some enlightenment (and a little pain in his soul). He could certainly use it.

I know this – everyone in Media has just been given a specific message. LOUD & CLEAR. It’s almost like a B-hollywood-movie. Yet, it is not. It’s the reality of the world we have allowed ourselves to live in, despite the teachings (limited that they have been) of our Fore-fathers efforts to guarantee freedom for all as an inalienable right.

Rod Serling called it The Twilight Zone. Anyone wanna wake up now?

    • Anthony

I do want to add – that I do listen to NPR every morning, on the way to work.

The reason? It’s because only there, do I hear real discussions about real people in different facets of Life that TV and even Conservative TalkRadio seems to avoid more often than not.

NPR, despite it’s character set – and its Oligarch affiliation – does, at times, bring something to the table you really won’t hear almost anywhere else … especially ABC, CBS or NBC…..or even FOXNEWS. It’s an hour to work every morning .. and I will go on listening to those early AM programs – it beats being denied credibility over being truthers or birthers, as the Oligarch likes to labels those who question their masters. (little m)

Besides – shouldn’t you be keeping tabs on the enemy?

      • Gary

I don’t care what you listen to Anthony, but tax dollars shouldn’t be used for this station or any other station.

        • Robert Smith

From Gary: “I don’t care what you listen to Anthony, but tax dollars shouldn’t be used for this station or any other station.”

There goes EAS and the National Weather Service.

          Rob

          • John

            Robert,

You have got to be the biggest liberal moron, or are all of you that stupid?

What in the hell does a weather station have to do with a radio station that is being funded with our tax dollars? A radio station that espouses and communicates radical biased political views?

You people aren’t crazy your stupid. Just like Crazy Pelosi! And Reid. Unbelievable.

We need to take this country back!

          • old white guy

yep, robert lacks critical analysis skills.

          • DaveH

Does the Emergency Alert System, or the Weather System propagandize the people, Robert? Of course they don’t. We are talking about the taxpayer’s money being wasted on things that only benefit a minority of people (Government Leaders included in that minority).

          • Karolyn

Propaganda, shmopaganda! Do you, or have you, ever listened??? Even to the local stations that interview local celebs, politicos, restaranteurs, writers, artists, etc?

          • DaveH

I posted several links for your listening pleasure, Karolyn. But even if they did nothing but air opera, ballet, or other events that only a few people enjoy, the Government has no business funding them with the taxpayers’ money. I know it is a hard concept for Liberals to understand, but it is not YOUR money to give.

        • Anthony

I agree, Gary. Seems I forgot to mention that little tidbit. I was focused on a larger point.

In my book, NPR does have a slight edge over their TV partner in PBS. I rarely ever watch PBS, unless it’s a concert of some sort.

          • Karolyn

You only watch PBS for concerts? Uh, I think there’s a little more substance on the network. I’ve learned more about where I live – the people, culture and customs, on PBS than anywhere else.

          • DaveH

Try reading a book, Karolyn. One you paid for.

    • William

so well put Anthony. unlike you I have voted for some democrats in the past. I voted a straight Republican ticket this time I am 75 years old and if I live to be a HUNDRED I doubt if I will ever vote for another democrat. and obamas regime convinced me anyone STUPID enough to vot democrat deserves what they have been doing to all of us for the last two years,

    • s c

Anthony, again you make sense and you have both feet in the real world (a refreshing change of pace, especially when compared to the childish rants of this website’s in-house progressives). The image of NPR being permanently attached to Big Brother’s [Big Mammy Jammer's?] teat is basically right, but Washington has its own special way of doing things.
I suspect that people who get in line to mooch off the government are absolutely sucking hard on ‘something,’ but it is NOT a teat, Anthony. It would explain much about the last 65 to 150 years and what has happened to America because of that peculiar behavior.

  • Teresa

I have to say one thing about this, the media has gotten out of control with their bias attitude. Everyone is too scared to speak their opinion and when they do speak their opinion it is out of pure hate and anger. If you are a news broadcast show or a journalist be that…but be specific in your journalism, do not be bias. We hae become a divided nation and for this alone will be our downfall. We are our own enemy.

    • http://www.poorgrandchildren.com Poorgrandchildren

We have become angry and divided because we accepted the lie that our republic is a democracy. In real democracies, individuals have the right to vote and no others. Once the best organized mob in a de-mob-ocracy has spoken, everyone has to march in lockstep with it. Many of the marchers will be angry.

      • Teresa

        AMEN!

      • s c

Poorgrandchildren, you’re more than right. America is supposed to be a constitutional republic, NOT a democracy. In the words of H L Mencken, ” . . . democracy in practice arises from the envy felt by inferior men for their superiors. The peasant craves security . . . ” and ” . . . politicians deliberately pander to the prejudices of the mob in order to wield power over those who are too principled to do the same thing.”
I suspect that if H L Mencken AND Mark Twain were alive today, they wouldn’t hesitate to put our politicians, media whores and career traitors in their place and wondering if they’d live long enough to see tomorrow.

        • Jana

          Poorgrandchildren,
I heard on the radio this morning that Congress is wanting to take 1% of every single money transaction that we make. Every time you write a check, or use the ATM or use your credit card or buy groceries or gas etc 1% will go to the gov’t. Now this is supposed to go for paying off the national debt which they are now greatly concerned about. (Of course not concerned enough to stop spending or to stop getting a raise every year, or to work on creating jobs.)
This is supposed to raise $4 trillion dollars a year. Yeah right, they will use this to pay down the national debt (pardon me while I gag). They will find other uses for it. More Washington parties, more gov’t salary increases, more gov’t employees I presume.

          • Anthony

            Correct – it’s known as HR 4646.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Jana,
more in-flight refreshments!!! More limo service!!! the average person uses a limo maybe twice in their lifetime and both are in highschool yet these dimbulbs think they should have them provided by the people whenever the whim hits them!!

  • Robert Smith

From Teresa: “If you are a news broadcast show or a journalist be that…but be specific in your journalism, do not be bias.”

Yup. Being scared of a burka, or whatever, does show a bias when it’s blabbed all over the air from an outlet such as Fox. I’m glad he was fired for spreading fear and being biased. NPR did the right thing and in the context of Fox he should fit right in generating fear and hate that isn’t journalism.

    Rob

    • http://www.poorgrandchildren.com Poorgrandchildren

All that Muslims do is to enslave, torture, and kill. No reason to fear that? They are no more a religion than the KKK. They both are political/terrorist organizations trying to operate under the cover of religion and are due absolutely no rights other than some form of a fair trial before execution.

      • William

very well put. but robert wouldn’t understand that. he probably didn’t see those people the muslims decapitated. robert for you that means they cut their heads off,

        • http://MSA Kirby

Germany has become overcrowded with muslims and they are very angry about it, the same thing is gonna happen here with obuma bringingthe 200,000 muslims here for what he says, “they need a better way of life” and all of this at OUR expense by way of higher taxes.

      • Jana

I do not Fear the Muslims, what I fear is the stupidity of people like Robert who would accept the Muslim / Islamic ideology with open arms. This truly makes me wonder if he isn’t a follower of Islam? His whole demeanor and outlook on life is that of Islam.

        • michelleo

          Jana, VERY WELL SAID!!!!!!!!

      • Karolyn

Read the Koran and get educated!! Look into the eyes of a Muslim child or his mother and knock them down like that. Who do you think you are? Oh, I forgot, YOU’RE a PATRIOT! It’s not Muslims in general, it’s MEN IN GENERAL!!! Be they Muslim or Christian or whatever. (I apologize to those of you who are REAL men.)

        • Jana

          Karolyn,
Yet there are some women who espouse hatred and are willing to teach their children to be martyrs.
I have and am currently studying the Qur’an.
As I said before, it isn’t Islam that we need to fear, it is the pascifists among us that would allow this stupidity to occur.

          • Karolyn

            “some” being the operative word.

          • Jana

A lot more than you would care to admit. Just because you don’t know any in your area doesn’t mean they don’t exist, and even if they did they wouldn’t reveal it to you.

Of course not all Muslims are bad. That would be ludricrous to even think that, but the ones who are bent on the US becoming a Muslim country and who want Sharia Law to be the law of the land, are extremely dangerous.
Just like the Egyptian cleric, Sa’d Arafat said, Beatings were instituted by Allah to honor wives.Sa’d Arafat: The prophet Muhammad said: “Don’t beat her in the face, and do not make her ugly.” See how she is honored. If the husband beats his wife, he must not beat her in the face. Even when he beats her, he must not curse her. This is incredible! He beats her in order to discipline her.
In addition, there must not be more than ten beatings, and he must not break her bones, injure her, break her teeth, or poke her in the eye. There is a beating etiquette. If he beats to discipline her, he must not raise his hand high. He must beat her from chest level. All these things honor the woman.

You see Karolyn, there are rules to wife-beating. Wow, how nice of them.
Another thing, we are seeing more women being suicide bombers in the Middle East. I was wondering why when women are so low on the totem pole that being a suicide bomber is almost useless for her in any form esp. in the afterlife according to Islam, then I found out that they kidnap a lot of these women, rape them and then tell them they might as well go out for the glory of allah and die because they will be killed as soon as they go home and their family finds out what has happened to them. Oh yes, by the way, this was another (very ugly) womans idea. She instigated the whole thing in that area.
Islam would have never allowed the free loving and free thinking women of the 60′s to live. That would NOT have been permitted.
In this respect we would both be in the same boat even though that is not my life style, but because I am a Christian woman, who speaks up, I would not live either.

    • Teresa

You sir do not get it, NPR is the bias here, they contridict themself every single day in their actions. Since when is voicing your opinion a crime. He spoke nothing more than what most of the nation is feeling and he was NOT being racist in any means. We as a nation have been far too tolerant for far to long in the means of being politicaly correct as to not offend anyones lil feelings. I do not see our President or the liberals caring to offend the christians or jews but yet once someone mentions the muslims oh heaven forbid. Might I remind you it was not christians nor jews that killed our American on our soil, it was extremist muslims and they continue to threaten us and until the friendly muslims stand w/Americans they will continue to do so and that is the fact of it!

      • Barb

You go girl! You are so right and Robert you could learn a lot here if you wanted to but I bet you don’t!

      • Karolyn

True journalism demands that one NOT voice an opinion.

        • michelleo

Karolyn – you are such a HYPOCRITE, the left america haten so called Journalist does nothing BUT express their opinoin they wouldnt know the thruth if it hit them in the face and apprently either would you, also Obama can say any damn thing he wants like the American people that domnt agree with him are his enemies and the “Liberal Lying Meida says NOTHING I could go on and on and on but I think you get the point

          • Karolyn

Yes, I absolutely get the point – that YOU are wrong!

          • Kate8

            Karolyn, Michelleo speaks the truth.

Obama is calling Americans who disagree with him ‘the enemy’. As much as I abhor what he’s doing to America, that shocked even me.

No elected American official, much less the POTUS, has any place calling Americans who disagree with him ‘enemies’. That is completely unAmerican and, as far as I’m concerned, way out of line.

What about Hillary’s rant: “We’re Americans and we have the right to disagree with ANY administration!” As usual, with liberals it only goes one way.

          • Kate8

BTW Karolyn. Obama is clearly inciting his minions to hatred and violence against conservatives. He is setting us up to be ‘enemies of the state’. He even has us on a list.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            michelleo,
Don’t you know that Karolyn is always right?? Just ask her. Never mind that she states no fact to go with her statements of “fact” just take it that she is right!! When she shouts and says you are wrong, better accept it as she is never wrong!!! All bow down to thae almighty KAROLYN!!!

          • Jana

            Karolyn,
            Michello does speak the truth.
Also, Kate8 is right in what Obama has been saying. He also stated that they needed to punish his enemies.
Sorry, he has already been doing that.

          • Christin

            michelleo,
            RIGHT ON!

            Kate8,
“Enemies of the State”… Yes, I believe that list is the Terrorist list for the Conservatives and Republicans.

            Joe H.,
Never, …bow only to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

      • Eric Bischoff

That’s right the people who attacked us on 9/11 were ALL Saudis who were clearly upset that we have propped up and armed to the teeth their oppressive, sexist dictator princes. (One of them owns Fox). Hell even Bin Ladden was furious with the dictator princes.

So what did we do, we attacked all their neighbors. Now that’s brilliant. The Saudi princes and the Bin Ladden family have a long close relationship with the Bush family, hell they even funded many of little Bush’s failed ventures. Do you think maybe that’s why they were allopwed to leave the crime scene and flown out of the country when you and I Americans could not fly for a whole week?

So now we could just go after the next largest oil fields in Iraq. Afaghanistan was convenient because we needed it for a pipeline route to Chaostan. Karzai just happened to be the Union oil representative trying to make that deal. Next stop Iran the next largest oil fields. But hey I am sure it’s because they have WMDs.

And the Fox band will be leading the charge.

    • libertytrain

rob -before you cast such an opinion you should listen to the whole of the statements made by Juan Williams. The clips were taken out of context – and as such could be construed incorrectly. And if you did listen to the whole interview than I have no understanding of how you could make a comment as such.

      • Jana

After rereading what he stands for, this is becoming less of a mystery on how he could say what he is saying. He is a hard liberal, with an Islamic bent. He could tell us he is not, but look at how he believes. If you act like one and talk like one then???

      • http://?? Joe H.

        libertytrain,
Let’s forget that we were attacked by muslims, here. let’s forget that it was muslims that attacked the US navy. Let’s forget that it was muslims that attacked the trade bldgs the FIRST time. Let’s forget that it was muslims that attacked the marine barracks. Most importantly, let’s forget that the majority of muslims wear a bhurka!! If we do that he is right!!! BTW I don’t think that will EVER happen!! I hope it never does!!

        • libertytrain

I’m with you Joe – I recall driving around the city I was forced to be in during 9-11 because of a family illness and I got goosebumps seeing folk, like myself, on street corners everywhere holding flags, praying, singing. But I did have this quick dull idea in the back of my brain that their patriotism would disappear and quickly they would forget. Mostly they did. I didn’t, you didn’t, others on this site haven’t either.

      • Kate8

liberty, I just realized why they gave Juan the boot (sometimes I guess I’m a little slow to catch on).

It’s right before an election, and democrats need the Muslim vote! I knew it was pandering, but it was damage control in order to keep the party in Islam’s good graces. What do they care about a little flack from the right. And even if they ruffle a few left-wingfeathers over it, they don’t need to worry about losing any lefty votes. They’ll vote democrat even if it means cutting off their own noses.

NPR is concerned about losing funding, either, because democrats plan to conquer and control, and government media will be all we have.

BTW, I heard the 9th Circuit just ruled that you don’t have to show ID to vote. This is so non-citizens can cast their ballot for democrats. They are going all-out with fraud to thwart the will of the people, yet again. The left has truly made a pact with the devil.

        • Anthony

This is sooooo true. Google up what Harry Reid’s doing in Nevada…. very remniscient of Tammany Hall.

        • libertytrain

Yes Kate – they have in deed made a pact with the devil and we know how well that will turn out for them in the end.

        • Karolyn

Kate – Don’t they have roll books with voters’ names that are checked off as they vote? I thought that was standard. It has been everywhere I’ve lived.

          • Kate8

Karolyn, If they don’t check on one’s citizenship when they register, I suppose their names will appear on the list.

I wouldn’t swear to the integrity of all polling places, either.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Kate8,
I don’t understand it, I have been asked the last 7 or 8 years for my ID, yet all I hear is that no one requires it!! Is it just an Ohio thing or what??

          • Jana

Joe, in Texas we are too, but the last election (for Pres.) they stopped a group of about 20 from voting who had already voted at another voting place in the city. They were all men, and only a few spoke English. Hmmmmmmm.

          • Kate8

Joe, I just heard that the 9th Circuit Court ruled on this. It amounts to de facto amnesty. Keep the democrats in control, illegals are home free.

This has been a point of contention for some time now. Democrats have whined that having to show ID could disenfranchise some of the poor. I don’t know how even the poor manage not to have ID, but then dems don’t have to make sense.

Heavily democrat districts have allowed illegals and legal non-citizens to vote, along with the dead…you know th drill. It’s called voter fraud. Winning is all they care about.

All facets of media and individuals, wether Liberal or Conservative, have the right to free speech and should ne covered, under the Constitution. I think our tax dollars should fund either sde!___With that said, No one has to like the opinions, we can turn off the radio, or the TV, and even skip over the opposing comments here or on other blogs, or we can stay and state our case.__Nothing says, your required to answer or to agree. I’m not so much worried about the tone in media, as they’ve always been leftist. The tone I’m with is coming out of Washington. It’s Obama and his Administration’s arrogance and divisive tone to the American people. Opposing views are a daily event, you either participate or you don’t!

    • Angel Wannabe

AW, typo-error___Media outlets, SHOULD NOT be subsidized with our tax dollars!

      • Barb

Angel, as usual I agree with you. But I hope my posting this does not deflect from your post at all. Seems some of the lefties on here think I a confused squirrel and anti-American because I don’t like democrats especially democrat politicians and their blind followers on this site! You always have a levelheaded post, kudos to you!

        • Angel Wannabe

Barb, lets just say, the Democrats of yesteryear, ARE NO MORE! My Maternal Grandparents were demoncrats up until they died in the 70′s. Today, they would be considered Conservatives!__The Democratic party have been been hi-jacked!_-Some are not aware of it, some are on board and have fallen in line behind the one before, some know whats going on and have been bitten by the power monger, and can’t/wont get out. I’ve renamed The Democratic party, to the Progressive Party. Filled with Socialists, communists and facists. I stand by the party of “No” anyday, but no more lies and no more BS. They need to do the job, we elect them to do, not lie through they’re teeth and try to be a like the Dems. They gotta stand for the prinicple of the party. BTW, Barb Your not a blind squirrel, screw the opposition, words only hurt if ya letem!__TY for the kudos!! :)

          • Barb

I agree again! My parents also were democrats and I USED to vote for the candidate not the party. But as you said that’s all in the past! And you are welcome.

          • 45caliber

I agree. The Democrat party, until about 1965, was the “party of the working man”. 90% of the South voted Democrat. In fact, it was important to vote Democrat since the Republicans never bothered to run anyone for anything but Governor and Federal positions. If you didn’t vote in the Democrat primary, you couldn’t vote for anyone for local offices.

But Johnson and the Democrat party then discovered minority block voting. Instead of trying to convince thousands of individuals to vote your way, all you had to do was convince their leaders – and that could be easily done with a little money. To gain those votes, they bought them – with our tax money. “You want to stay home and not work? Here’s some money!” The problem was coming up with the money. But they had millions of working men paying taxes. What would a few more percentage points of tax matter?

Except most of us figured things out fairly quickly. We were being ripped off to pay minority groups to vote Democrat. And these minority groups all demanded legislation to give them special rights no one else had.

The Democrats are now “the party of the minorities”. They no longer support the working man – and the South now votes mostly GOP as a result.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Angel Wannabe,
The ones who don’t know it are the ones that are blindly in lockstep with the party!!! They don’t check out any sources or “facts”!

          • Angel Wannabe

Barb, 45 and JosH, I don’t fully trust ANY politician, I’m aware of all of them. The Repubs once had principles of God Fearing Constitutionality, with small Government AND lower taxes. I said this on another thread, if these idiots in Washington, stopped all the entitlements, lowered the taxes and stop all this control (which is disguised as REGULATION)The private sector would pick up. BUT That’s not what they want, the want to socialize EVETYTHING AND even if they don’t agree with there colleagues, they go along for the ride anyway, they’re a bunch of p*ssies!

          • DaveH

They are not P*ssies, Angel. They know darn well what they are doing, and most likely approve of Big Government. It is the natural inclination of leaders everywhere to grow their power. It is up to the voters to realize that and start voting more carefully. If they put up people that don’t promise to work for smaller government, don’t vote for them! I don’t care if they are the “lesser of two evils”. We give them support in their contempt for our freedom by voting for them. How can we ever get our country back by voting for people who don’t really intend to give it back?

          • Angel Wannabe

I agree JoeH, but to me they’re freakin selfish, greedy, cowards!

          • Angel Wannabe

DaveH, that comment was meant to go to you!

          • http://?? Joe H.

Darn! And there I thought I made a good comment!!! LOL!!

  • http://www.poorgrandchildren.com Poorgrandchildren

Exactly what part of our Constitution authorizes our DC employees to confiscate my money to fund radio and TV networks which I abhor?

Until we demand that our employees obey the law (the Constitution), we deserve the intrusive illegal (unconstitutional = illegal) Ponzi Scheme government we get.

    • 45caliber

I agree. Actually, the feds should have only THREE (3) departments. The Department of State (to handle relations with other countries in peace), the Department of War (not Defense, to handle relationships with other countries in war), and the Department of Treasury to pay the bills of the other two departments.

In other words, everything else the feds have shouldn’t be there.

    • Jana

Poorgrandchildren, I posted this above, but am reposting this here too,

We need to get these people out of office. They are totally out of touch with the American people.

      • 45caliber

They say “1%”. But consider. You put money into the bank … -1%. You take it out … -1%. You buy something … -1% or MORE. Consider, this will be like sales tax. You buy a ten cent item, you will likely pay a 10% tax, not 1%.

Further, since the same tax will apply to all businesses – you buy a car. You pay 1% on the price but the company has already added all the tax they paid on the parts to the bill, plus the tax for shipping it to the dealer, plus the tax the dealer pays on it. It would be quite possible that the end result would be as much as 20% more!

So when you get this tax, you may pay as much as 20-25% tax on your money for “transactions”. And that is supposed to be in ADDITION to the taxes you already pay!

The real question is: are you going to have anything left of your money before you spend it??

      • Jean Murphy

        Jane,

You’re absolutely correct. HR4646 is the bill Obama wants to pass & take 1% of everyones paycheck. It won’t matter if you have direct deposit, cash, or try to cash you check elsewhere. They want to do this with every type of transaction. This is one of the first letters everyone needs to send to the new Congress. DO NOT PASS HR4646.

As far as the NPR, I don’t think they should be allowed to receive public funds any longer. They want to stifle the truth. Freedom of speech is exactly that. Williams should never have been fired either. There isn’t one American Citizen who doesn’t think the same thing when they go through an airport or get on a plane. You see a muslim, you feel tense & uneasy. They brought it on themselves & I’m sick to death of all the “political correctness” BS. Muslims in the US keep pushing for sharia laws & I for one won’t allow it. There’s millions of Americans who feel the same way. Maybe they should all go back home before we deport them. God Bless America………

  • Norman Casey

Robert Smith asks for a specific—About a month ago on the morning news of NPR, it was Nelson Mandela’s birthday and NPR’s commentator stated that Nelson Mandela served time in prison for fighting Apartide.
Nelson Mandela was originally sentenced to hang for murdering a Black Policeman by necklacing (throw a burning rubber tire over his head and shoulders). His sentence was changed to life in prison which he served on an island.

    • Al Sieber

I agree, we’ve been lied to.

    • 45caliber

And since he has become the ruler (not representative of the people) of South Africa, he has turned his tribe loose on the Zulus, who make up a huge part of the population. They rape and kill Zulu people without any worries of the government stopping them. This makes him a “great” man? To me, he hasn’t changed from his original offense. He is still a murderer.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        45caliber,
        Agreed!!!

  • pennsyltuckian

It’s not just public broadcasting that has to be eliminated. Out congress has to man up and start eliminating all the federal programs that should be reserved to the states and eliminate the IRS. We need to pass a balanced budget amendment, defund the unconstitutional agencies like the DoE and return control to the states where it rightfully belongs. Get rid of as many big government fools this year as possible and in 2012 bounce Ovomit and all the other thieves up for election. Cutting worthless programs is easy, it just takes willpower and nobody in today’s congress has that. We should also completely end congressional influence on Pentagon decisions on what aircraft, ships, bases, etc. are needed and stop forcing the DoD to buy equipment to support congress’ pet projects and let the professionals decide what they need.

  • newspooner

National Propaganda Radio has been spouting communism for a long time. Unfortunately, many gullible Americans have taken it as mainstream and are now unable to effectively identify communist ideas and programs. And money is stolen from us to pay for it!

    • 45caliber

I always thought that NPR stood for National People’s Revolutionaries.

  • JKO

I just contacted NPR by email and thought I would post here what I wrote. They say they might publish it and “reserve the right to edit”. I rarely agree with Juan Williams, but I do have respect for him because on several occasions he has had the courage to even speak against Obama. Maybe more of us should start standing up to these idiots and maybe then they MIGHT become a private station no longer funded by our tax dollars. My post follows (to NPR).

First, I have never listened to any of your stations and never will – just to be up front and honest. But I do watch Fox news, they are the only ones I have not caught in a lie yet, and see Mr. Williams often. I rarely agree with him politically but I know this: he is one of the few liberals that does not just “spit out” liberal garbage. When he sees something that is wrong from anywhere he points it out. What has happened in America that a person cannot give an honest OPINION on a show that is OPINION based. And why do other NPR assosiates get a free pass when they make fun of… oh I don’t know… Sarah Palin or those involved in the Tea Party movement?
Do I have the right to call you on this? Yes, since I am a taxpayer and you use at least a few of my dollars to spout your dribble into the airwaves. But you know what, I am not against your right to say what you want or even to fire Mr. Williams, I am calling you on your stupidity in doing so. You see, if some had doubt about you thay don’t anymore as you have shown your true colors. Instead of showing only one side to the public – National PUBLIC radio- why don’t you show both sides?? Maybe give FOX a little competition. They, as a conservative leaning organization, invite the other side on almost every story they do. I know that that is asking a lot but you ARE supposed to represent the PUBLIC and more than 1/2 of us lean to the right even in the most biased polls. Oh yeah, and I have this saved in a document on my computer, so IF (which I seriously doubt) you have the courage to express a different opinion, I will have an exact copy to prove what I said.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      JKO,
They will never show both sides as then they would convert a great many dems to conservatives and they know it!!!

      • JKO

        AMEN AMEN!!!

      • Karolyn

Joe – You obviously don’t listen to NPR because they regularly read opposing emails. Most of you just don’t know what the f you’re talking about!

        • http://?? Joe H.

          OOO! Aren’t you the lady!!!

  • Raggs

I don’t beleive anything will happen, I think the regime will continue to fund the communist dictatorship agenda and all of those that are in bed with them…
However this de-funding of NPR would be a great start, but the unions and obama will have nothing to do with it! The only way to combat this is to strenghten the grass-roots America like the Tea-party.

  • http://boblivingston james bush

I HAVE TUNED OUT NPR MPR AND HAVE HEARD NOTHING BUT LEFT WING GARBAGE. THE MUSIC IS GREAT DURING FUNDRAISING TIME BUT THEN THEY PUT THE CHOSENS MUSIC THAT HAS NO HARMONY. ITS JUST A JUMPING OFF PLACE FOR A COMPOSER WHO MAKES A MOCKERY OF GOOD MUSIC. THIS INCOMPETENT SCHILLER WAS IM SURE PUT IN HER POSITION BY A BIG HEARTEED DADDY. SHE HAS NO TALENT AND COMMON SENSE, SHE MISSED OUT ON THAT. SHE HAS RUN HER MOUTH AND SET NPR UP FOR A LAWSUIT THAT NO RESPONSIBLE CEO WOULD DO. GRAB BOTH CHEEKS NPR, JUAN GONNA EAT YOUR LUNCH. MY BEST TO MR. WILLIAMS AND I WILL BE CONTACTING MY HOUSE MEMBER AND SENATOR TO DEFUND SUCH A POLITICAL CORRECT. JIM BUSH

  • Sam

PBS and NPR will always be bastions of leftist propaganda, like it or not. Their firing and trashing of Louis Rukeyser, was reprehensible, and nothing short of elder abuse. However, they do air programs that other channels don’t have, like “Motorweek,” “This Old House,” and others on a Saturday lineup of “do it yourself” programming. I’d gladly pay for that programming, but would appreciate an oversight so that I could see more “fair and balanced.”

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Sam,
A lot of those shows are also on HGTV!!

    • DaveH

If you would gladly pay for that programming, Sam, then do it. The question is “should other people be forced to pay for programming that only a minority desires?”. I say no.

      • DaveH

I should qualify that statement, as it really doesn’t matter to me if it is a minority of people that watch or listen to those programs, or if it is a majority of people. The rest should not be forced to pay for the programming choices of others.

        • a progressive nightmare

Agreed! NPR can either stand on it’s own two feet, just like all the rest, or close the doors. WE THE PEOPLE have no business funding Washingtons propaganda.

        • Jana

If its a Public Radio station then why aren’t they going on memberships and contributers? That is what most of the Public Radio and TV goes on that we have around here.

  • chuck b

first off, i for one am tired of hearing about poor mr. williams. fox news has beat this horse to death. the republicans have tried for years to defund npr with no results. they have been a left wing mouth piece for as long as i can remember and i never listen to them anyway.
juan williams seems to be a decent person, however, he doesn’t strike me as anything more than a half smart liberal. he sure comes up with some really stupid answers at times on the panel shows.

  • Anti Government

Juan had a legal contract that he signed. He was not to use his position at NPR on another network. He broke his contract and was fired. End of story. You all sound like a bunch of liberals who have not listened to NPR and make your conclusions based on only one media source (FOX). The only thing in question is did he break his contract? As I understand it he did.

    • DaveH

Do you have evidence that Williams had an exclusive contract with NPR? If so, they let him get away with commenting on FoxNews for a very long time. Please post your references.

      • libertytrain

It is said that he had a contract that stated he couldn’t do the things he did, like appear on FOX but they negated that portion of the contract by letting this aspect of the contract go for so long – in other words they ignored it for years till now.

      • a progressive nightmare

DaveH….Never ask a progressive for facts to back up their claims. If they hear something and it makes them “Feel Good” then it becomes a fact, at that point.

  • Encarnacion Martinez

Is this a free country or not. It is beginning to look more like a dictatorship. Most moslems without their robes are not thretening. Why do people have to stand out by showing their religion or ethnicity. Would I be look upon someone weird if I dress with my country’s customes from centuries past? I want to believe that the world has made progress towards some standards that are acceptable by most societies.

    • Jana

      Encarnacion Martines,
I used to work for Mr. Encarnacion Santillon. He and his family of 14 children and wonderful wife Bartola were very good friends of mine as well as my husband’s.

We do not fear Muslims with or without their robes. We are greatly concerned about a supposed religion that wants to enslave us, or kill us if we will not comply. We are alarmed at the fact that this so called religion is being welcomed with open arms in this country by those who do not know what they are really dealing with.
Encarnacion, if you are a Catholic / Christian, you would not be able to remain a Catholic / Christian. You would be forced to embrace Islam, or die. Neither one is a good choice.

    • 45caliber

“Would I be look upon someone weird if I dress with my country’s customes from centuries past?”

Yes, you would. I belong to the Society of Creative Anachronisms (SCA). We do dress in costumes of centuries past and can get some odd looks. On the other hand, I’ve worn swords and daggers into stores while in costume and no one complains. We’ve had police come to watch our practices with fighting with swords, etc. and they only show interest. But it is a lot of fun – even if I do have to fight with men a third my age.

But those costumes don’t represent a threat as the Muslim costume does. So we can expect only curiosity.

  • a progressive nightmare

NPR is nothing more than one of the many marxist-progressive Washington controlled propaganda outlets. I am a libertarian and I disagree with 80-90% of what Mr. Williams thinks and believes, however, I do respect him because he means and believes what he says and he does love OUR COUNTRY. He has been very consistent over the years and is a true liberal, not a dope smoking radical American hating progressive-marxist.

His recent comments reflect the same fears the vast majority of we Americans feel every time we encounter one of these rag heads who hate American and our way of life and who have consistently VOWED to destroy what they perceive as the “Great Satan”. Not to mention over 3,000 innocent Americans killed on 9/11.

Who in their right mind could defend a CULT that is responsible for the deaths of untold MILLIONS just because they deem them to be infidels. I see no difference in this belief system than marxism. How could any belief system condone the mass murder of his fellow human being boggles the adult mind. They actually think their misplaced CULT gives them the right to murder their fellow man, IN COLD BLOOD. SICK is an understatement.

You dumb American hating progressive misfits can defend these people all you want but the FACTS of their behavior and belief system says otherwise. In the same way, just like NPR, a bunch of American hating radicals that spew their GARBAGE on a daily basis at the expense of the American tax paying citizen. Congress needs to get busy defunding this progressively biased outfit that is being paid for by WE THE PEOPLE.

Bottom line, their VERY DUMB CEO needs to be fired for her incompetence and DOUBLE STANDARDS and Mr. Williams needs to file a liable suit for the damage this has done to both his reputation and character. What he stated is FACT, nothing more and nothing less and it is about time to “GROW UP”, face the facts and put this “Touchy-Feely” progressive crap to bed in America, lest we all perish.

    • 45caliber

What always annoys me is when one of these characters gets up and makes vows to destroy us, and then some American media talking head or some politician then gets up and insists that he “really doesn’t mean it that way.”

If he says it and is serious about it, then I’m willing to accept that he DID mean it that way! Just as I believe Oblama when he says he is going to CHANGE the US instead of the heads saying “he doesn’t really mean that.”

      • a progressive nightmare

Exactly, People need to say what they mean and mean what they say. It’s that simple and I personally take a man at his word until he proves otherwise. What else does a human being have other that his or her word? I pay very close attention to what people say and then I compare it to their actions. When I percieve a difference in the two, then I and that person will have a major problem.

One thing is for certain, the line has been drawn in the sand I personally will no longer tolerate ANY anti-american BS regardless if that person lives here in America or in a oil pit. It’s time for America to GROW UP and understand what our enemies are up to and then take the appropriate action to defend our Nation against any and all who would DARE challenge us or our constitutional freedoms of speech.

Mr. Williams had EVERY right to make his comments and I agree with him.

        • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

I will say what I mean and mean what I say, Death to Muslims in the name of their Al-lah, for they are bent to hell on killing Americans and all infidels in the the name of their Al-lah, or have you forgotten?

          • Karolyn

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE. You go out and kill a Muslim mother and her kids. You are some sicko.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            karolyn,
Lady you are dilusional!!! I didn’t read one sentence where he said he would go out and kill a woman and kids!!! I know you now! You were the one that stood in airports and spit on returning VietNam vets!! Call them baby killers!! Kiss off lady!!

          • a progressive nightmare

T Karolyn, We will leave the baby killing and mother killing to Islam. That is what THEY do best and you may find that out the hard way before this is all said and done.

        • Eric Bischoff

Your last paragraph is a bit of an oxymoron. Are you are forgetting that our entire system was designed to insure that if we didn’t like it we could change it. It seems to me that there’s an awful lot of people like the Tea Baggers, who don’t like what it has become and therefore the whole premise of freedom from tyranny is paramount. Who are you to tell anyone America love it or leave it or I don’t want to hear your anti america BS? Or is that right only reserved for people who have your views and think like you?

          • a progressive nightmare

Yep, you got it! That right is reserved for WE AMERICANS and WE can change anything we want as long as it falls WITHIN the boundaries of OUR constitution. Notice I did not say the worlds constitution, or YOU MARXISTS constitution or the UN’s constitution or Mexico’s constitution. If you think you can “change” us then YOU are going to have a bad day. Bottom line, take your progressive-marxist crap and leave, if you don’t like OUR SYSTEM and OUR constitution. The only other option you have is obvious and it ain’t gonna work out to well for you. Now who is the MORON now?

    • Anne M McLaughlin

Wow ! That says it all. Why don’t you run for Congress ? The battle begins on November 3rd and will continue long after President Obama
Packs his kit and leaves the White house. Americans have got to start reading the Koran. Granted its as odious a screed as ever came down
the pike but it gives a clear picture of just what western civilization is up against. We need to espouse once more what our parents called
plain english. The muslims are enraged as a general thing and no amount of appeasement will change that.

      • a progressive nightmare

Thanks Anne and you nailed it. With the current mentality we have in Washington concerning this issue, our nation has been placed in great peril, and will continue to be, until we get some ADULT/HONEST THINKING back in Washington.

At 50+ years aged, listening and watching the folks we have in Washington equates to a elementary schoolyard fight. Most we have in power are nothing more than a BIG FAKE drawn by the lust for power over our freedoms. Not to mention their GREED factor that has spent our future generations into economic slavery. These people care nothing about OUR country and their actions prove it. One simple example, A4S4 of the constitution states that we are to be protected from INVASION. It does not state by a foreign army, military or ARMED invasion and only a simple minded progressive or dishonest progressive could interpret those words otherwise. When you have MILLIONS of illegals pouring into our country, then that my friend is an INVASION, plain and simple. Although it is a PASSIVE UNARMED invasion, that does not preclude their actions from falling under A4S4. Both the President and the congress should be held accountable for allowing this to happen.

If we don’t find some REAL leadership that loves America and our constitution, and real soon, I fear for the first time in my adult life that the Republic may be lost. It’s time for all of us American loving FREEDOM loving folks to stand up and be counted. Our founding Fathers had to fight for their freedoms so why shouldn’t we?

        • Eric Bischoff

Personally these days I would rather live next door to hard working illegal aliens trying to improve their lives instead of racist, bigot, sexist, nincompoops. Someday the borders will be gone. They are arbitrary, meaningless and always in the wrong places anyway and we should never forget that these people were there long before we invaded this place.

          • Kate8

Eric, None of those people there today were there when ‘we invaded the place’.

            Neither were any of us.

By your logic, lets throw out every people who ever conquered another nation. That would be pretty much everywhere.

That is such a lame argument, and it has only one purpose: to make Americans feel guilty about their heritage.

People all over the world have tortured, brutalized and slaughtered people of other nations. Even today, it goes on everywhere. Yet you libs only excoriate America. What about the Americans being killed by illegals by the tens of thousands? You find that justified, because of your hypocritical reasoning?

Christians are being slaughtered in Africa, the Middle-East, India…I’ll be that doesn’t faze you a bit, either.

          • Jana

            Eric,
I sure hope the borders won’t be gone. There is so much violence in Mexico right now that in some areas the policia (police) are quitting. The cartels are trying to run and ruin the country. They are coming over here in the U S threatening our law enforcement officers because they are confiscating their dope.

Remember all of you who do dope, you are just furthering the cause of the cartels. Plus, I know of one young man who smoked marijuanna and got very very sick. Come to find out they were lacing it with fermaldehyde. They use all kinds of stuff to perserve it and make it go further. We are hoping this young man will be able to overcome his sickness from the side effects of this folly.

          • a progressive nightmare

Since you don’t believe in this GREAT NATION, then leave! I will buy the ticket…..see ya Buddy! Have a great life in your marxist eutopia. I’m sure you can find a good drug dealing job down in Mexico.

          • Denniso

Can’t you be a little more creative w/ your comment…what a cliche from the rightwing dolts…’America, love it or leave it’. What a dumb and mindless reply to legitimate criticism of the country.

  • Eric Bischoff

Yes brilliant full speed ahead. Defund the arts and educational TV. Put all that money into the military and the prison industrial complex instead. All we really need is NASCAR and Football to make our new grand society.

    • libertytrain

Frankly, I think it would be nice if they put all that money back into music, art, phy-ed in the schools. And not to forget, accurate history books. They need it more than NPR.

      • Karolyn

Would they be able to get through all the history nowadays? They might have to go to school a couple of extra years.

        • libertytrain

Why not, history didn’t start in these times – seems to me we had quite a bit to engross us during history class – assassinations, Vietnam, the 1968 election, Chicago 7, Martin Luther King, etc.; in our parents generation they had The Great Depression, assassinations, Hitler, World War II, Korea, etc; Grandparents had assassinations, The Roaring Twenties, World War I, etc. Same stuff different era.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            libertytrain,
Oh, they want history class alright, they just want to shave a few years off to shorten how long a person has to take it. Like all the founding years!! Like the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution!! Give them a few years and it will cease to exhist in the books!!!

          • Jana

            JoeH,
They might as well quit teaching it, they have distorted a lot of the truth about our history. History is full of facts, but man can lie about those facts, and change the perceptions of what really happened.

  • Angel Wannabe

And yes Eric, we all need the Soros funded PBS stations and plenty other funded stations. Ya can’t trust the history on them they’re revised?!

  • Anthony

Some very interesting comments throughout. Thanks for the cudos, SC.

HR 4646 “is” the newest creation from the FEDERAL RESERVE and the World Central Banking System, to once more strip (I mean “transfer”) more wealth from America and have it find its way to another shore.

All of you do realize that wealth is never destroyed – merely transferred.

This nonsense about “defunding NPR” is somehow callous, has to be the most ridiculous nonsense I have ever heard. Those who think such bilge-water…. have you checked on what the Salaries are for those Employees – especially at the Top (Board of Directors)…? Have you?

In my original commentary – I alerted (and compared) this situation to a Philanthropist who had donated (charity) $200 million to NPR – which they immediately “invested” so they could live off the yearly $10-million profits….. As if we should allow them to profit from their charitable receipts and they keep on taking tax dollars on top of it. All of you did read that historical webpage, right? If not, you cheat yourselves.

ALL of these entities – Weather Channel, etc., could all be funded by tax deductible charitable gifts. Much like those mailers you get for PETS, and in return they send you address labels … You do know whaat I mean. They do not need tax dollars to keep the doors open. THAT IS A FACT.

Now – the Emergency Broadcast System? There, I split with my above comment. THIS is either something that each State should duly deal with, or a National approach shuold be taken … especially for cases such as a nuclear event, possibly…(?)

Any of you remember that Washington DC has its own Baseball Team?
You do remember they are taxpayer funded, yes?
Have you seen their Controllers’ Salaries?

I know this – before you judge in either direction — look at YOUR take-home pay. Then see if you can find a way to discover what they get paid… from the tax dollars they rip out of your paycheck.

Doesn’t matter which side of the political fence you care for.
This is about YOUR Quality of Life.

Remember this – until all of you start to unite and fight back, this POLICE STATE will only grow more & more fascist. Do you want to end up like the French? Check the History books. They’ve never won a single war. Ever. How long is it that you will lie to yourselves that taking it in the backside, without a tip, is somehow enjoyable. Think about it…. no cigarette and NO KISS.

The Bilderbergers are constantly laughing at almost all of us.
Especially those that blindly carry the Leftist water.

As you can see – Juan Williams found out the hard way, that he wa also “EXPENDABLE”.

    • Karolyn

“Do you want to end up like the French? Check the History books. They’ve never won a single war.” So? They are still a free people. What does winning or losing war have to do with anything?

      • Kate8

Karolyn, The French are ‘a free people’? They are overrun with Mulsims who are causing considerable trouble, the cradle-to-grave entitlement society is rioting because cuts are being made to their entitlements because the system is collapsing…

Maybe you should go there and see how well socialism is working for them.

      • a progressive nightmare

The only reason that the French are “Free” is because of US, America, you idiot! We saved their butts twice now with OUR BOYS, BRAVE MEN who were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for FREEDOM. If not for them, we would all be speaking German or Japanese right now! If fact, if YOUR system had prevailed(Hitler) the world would have been completely destroyed!

…and that is the reason you have the right or FREEDOM to make your DUMB PROGRESSIVE comments.

        • Jana

And there is a big war memorial over there with thousands of graves of Americans who gave thier lives for the French. Karolyn, that is your answer to SO?

    • Eric Bischoff

I always love the forever stupid comments about do you want to end up like the French. I mean really with their 2 hour lunches, their fantastic food, their month off in July and ski vacations, their national healthcare for all system, their free higher education, retirement at 60, always slim and well dressed, traveling on some of the fastest and smoothest trains in the world, and their #1 tourist city in the world. Who wants to end up like that?
Of course what do you expect when 85% of the US populace doesn’t have a passport and has never been anywhere else.

      • libertytrain

Yes, my last visit to Paris a few years ago – lovely city, particularly fond of watching the men pee in the streets (not), very avant garde –

        • Eric Bischoff

By the way, it’s avant-garde and If that’s all you remember from it I feel sorry for you.

          • libertytrain

sorry, my proofing skills left me, so glad you never make mistakes… I’m not impressed with Paris, other parts of the country were pleasant. But of course, I do prefer the countryside here as well.

          • Eric Bischoff

I merely focused on your error since you decided to point out the grossest, most negative thing you could think of like that’s what France is about, glossing over the other really important issues about their quality of life which is a choice. They choose to live this way.

What is the point of always casually making fun of the French anyway? Is that how we should treat our oldest friends? What is it with that stupid expression when someone curse and says excuse my French. I personally am more offended by the stupidity of that expression than I am with the curses.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Eric,
If you hate the U.S. so much and love Paris so much, why not immigrate there??? Oh that’s right, they have very strict quotas where westerners are concerned!!!

          • Jana

The French are trying to recover from allowing the Muslims free reign in their country. Right now they are rioting in the streets because they want to change the retirement age from 60 to 62. Some places still have major electrical problems.
I have visited France too. I was not really that impressed either. Their cleanliness leaved a lot to be desired.

          • Jana

I meant to say their cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
Also, about their being our oldest friends? Hmmmm, we liberated them during the war. Since then they have been our friends and then they haven’t been our friends. Now they are our friends again. No, I wouldn’t call them our OLDEST friends. Not at all.

          • libertytrain

Eric, the mind is funny that way, I didn’t pick the grossest thing I could think of, it simply is what comes to my mind first when I think of Paris, I’ve been to a hundred or more cities in Europe in recent years, and I have incredible memories of each. When I think of Nuremberg I think of being packed like sardines at the Weihnachtsmarkt – I think of the marvelous French woman – the owner of the bar/hotel we stayed at in Bouvier – right out of a movie – loved her. Paris – I think of men peeing – and:
I think that phrase you ponder over with disdain may come from the years and years that French was the international language.

          • Denniso

Jana, the French helped us in our revolution against the British…they gave us the statue of liberty.

      • a progressive nightmare

Well Eric, I think you just answered your own question. 85% with no passport? Hummmm, let me see here………typical progressive “Feeling Process”….math or logic is not one of your major assets, is it?

Are you to stupid to even understand that if not for WE AMERICANS, the French would be DEAD, twice over. Remember the World Wars or are you so stupid from your dope habits that you can’t remember a simple history lesson?

  • chuck b

    angel

it’s not only pbr, almost all the stations rewrite history in their documentaries. i watched the military channel the other night, korea our hell. i couldn’t believe what the narrator related when talking about the chinese crossing the yalu river and catching our forces by surprise. like we didn’t know the chinese were massing troops at the river. this is only one blatant distortion, almost every part of our history is being rewritten with a liberal view. it’s no wonder our children know very little of the u.s. history, (accurate that is)

    • Karolyn

How could that “distortion” be deemed a “liberal view.” Do you KNOW it was done by a liberal? For what reason? How can you make such blanket statements? Do southerners see the Civil War differently than the northerners?

      • Angel Wannabe

Karolyn, check out this link if it works__

        http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=1237

        • Karolyn

It worked. So? Any rich conservative can do the same thing. Of course, everybody wants to further their agenda. There is nothing wrong with that. You want to do the same, right? The difference is that some people have money. Why aren’t rich conservatives doing the same? Actually, they probably are; but that’s OK.

        • Eric Bischoff

AngelWannabe you never cease to amaze me. Yes Soros gives money to causes. What rich person doesn’t give money to their favorite causes? The Koch brothers funded the John Birch Society, the Heritage Foundation and now the Tea Party. I am sure yopu are OK with them.

What is interesting though is that if you bothered to open your mind and investigate what a lot of these organizations on that link stand for, it is exactly what a lot of you are clamoring for. A return to respecting and honoring our laws and our constitution. A lot of them are non-profit defenders of our civil rights and our constitution.

Have you ever bothered to investigate what they stand for. Have you ever read through their sites? Have you followed how they help American citizens? They are the David versus the Govt or Corporate Goliath.

If you are offended by them just because they are labeled leftists or because Soros likes them then you are a hypocrite.

          • Angel Wannabe

If you bothered to read anything BUT the side of the left, you’d learn a few things too___BTW, I’ll be anything I want to be Eric, if it’s a hypocrite according to ERIC, then thats my problem, not yours!!!_ thanks for your concern though!

          • Jana

You know everyone keeps talking about how some conservative rich guy is funding the TEA Party. They may be contributing for advertising etc. but no one is funding the TEA Parties around here. Private citizens are going to these things and volunteering their time and use thier own money to do whatever they need to do.
Praise God that someone would donate to help with advertising this cause. We need the citizens of this country to participate in the running of this country, all of them whether on the left or on the right. We are still a free country, and we want to keep it that way.

          • Denniso

There is also a difference between most $$ going to Dems and that going to Repubs. The people like Soros are open and proud to be transparent about where their $$ goes…most of the $$ going to Repubs, like from the Koch Bros, is hidden from public view. The public should know where the huge sums of money are coming from, and who’s agenda is behind it.

      • a progressive nightmare

I would think WE SOUTHERNERS do have a different view of the Civil War. I bet you, as a northener, or now as a northern transplant to the South, think that the CW was about slavery, correct? In fact, it was about STATES RIGHTS. Now, before your tiny little pea brain of the progressive mindset fires back your typical anti-this or anti-that garbage or throw back your typical childish nonsense ……NO, I do not believe in slavery whether it is imposed on someone by another man or a form of GOVERNMENT, like YOUR progressive-marxism.

        • Denniso

States right was the big divide between the recognized country and the rebelling South, but slavery was the biggest issue in the states rights fight. It’s incorrect to say that we didn’t fight over slavery.

          • Michael J.

            Denniso,
More revisionist garbage. The Emancipation Proclamation was nothing more than a tactic of war designed to cut the legs out from under the south’s work force. If not, how come the slaves north of the Mason Dixon line were not freed? And why is it that emancipated slaves who joined the Union Army were paid only half wages compared to their caucasion counter parts?

          • Denniso

I think you should read some actual history…slaves were free in the non slave states for some time before the war. Remember the ‘underground railroad’?? Slaves smuggled up North where they could live freely…the freeing of the Southern blacks was indeed a tatic to help win the war, so what? Does that make the freeing of them by Lincoln somehow less good?

It sounds like you’re a bitter southerner who resents the freeing of the slaves. Too bad,you people lost the war…good for everybody else.

    • Eric Bischoff

Personally I think you have it completely backwards.

But do you know that we used chemical warfare in Korea?

What the hell were we doing there in the first place?

Why can’t we ever mind our own business?

What a giant f#$%g waste of precious lives.

      • a progressive nightmare

Eric said “Why can’t we mind our own business?”

You should be able to answer that one? Why can’t you mind YOUR own business? Why do YOU “Feel” the need to instruct others on what they should or should not do with their lives, money, private property, FREEDOMS, etc etc etc….. You and I can sign a contract right now to mind our OWN business! Deal? But in doing so, that means you must become a self-reliant AMERICA and that YOU could not handle. You’re to busy trying to assert YOUR foolish behavior on other folks or too busy putting YOUR nose in another man’s business and eventually you are going to get that VERY BIG nose of yours slammed in the mud.

You are a FAKE buddy, just like all other self-annointed progressive-marxists that runs all the way to the WH. If you want to understand what has caused all the wars of the last century, then look no further than your marxist reflection in the mirror. When you people finally come to grasp that YOU are not in control of US, then we may get somewhere. Otherwise all YOUR KIND will do is start the NEXT war and you will most certainly lose.

    • Karolyn

I also want to say that I am sure that a lot of what has been reported about the US actions in wars has been heavily edited and skewed. Now you must agree with that!

      • Eric Bischoff

Absolutely right. But you never heard about us using chemical warfare in Korea on any of the mainstream press or TV ever. If it wasn’t for our more open access to information as a result of the Internet or because of documentaries, we may never have known. So knowing that I say what gives us the right to use that as one of the excuses for preemptively attacking Iraq. Who has the right to throw the first stone?

        • http://?? Joe H.

Got any non-progressive proof of that Eric???

          • a progressive nightmare

Heck, Eric couldn’t provide you with the fact of who he is from one day to the next.

          • Michael J.

            Joe H.
The proof in question here is probably buried right next to Obama’s Birth Certificate. In other words, it doesn’t exist.

    • Angel Wannabe

Chuckb, I know, I’ve done alot of reading over the summer, and over the past two years, only to find there is ALOT I DON’T KNOW!!–lol__ I was shocked at who owned what stations & programs!__Pbs, History channel_on and on_-I be damned, if I’m gonna waste my time watching TV shows, that I have to then research, to see if they are telling the right story, I won’t watch them now.

      • Karolyn

Who knows what is the “right” story?

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Karolyn,
I’m sure YOU do as you are always right!!!

        • a progressive nightmare

Well, I’m sure you don’t! You’re to busy bashing our country between joints.

      • Eric Bischoff

I have DishNetwork and watch it all because I want to get a wide perspective. But I also watch stuff that most people don’t even know exists. I personally love the only 2 NON-profit Listener supported, non commercial TV channels in the country. Free Speech TV and Link TV. I also get European channels, the BBC and Al Jazeera. It’s fascinating to watch how everyone reports the same story or how stories are reported over there that we don’t hear at all here. I am a media junky. I get about 40 magazines monthly that most people say when they come to my house, hey where do you get these, I have never heard of them.

Here is my take after all of that. Fox, and I realize that it is the most watched in America, are sadly for all of you devotees the shallowest most blatant liars in the industry. They are definitely not fair and balanced. They are strictly the mouthpiece of the conservative right and republican party and now of course the Tea Party. MSNBC is the mouth piece of the Democrats. All the other alphabets networks are in between. But they all beat the drums of war and never did their job to investigate. They are puppets to the large advertisers and the respective parties who spend billions with them.

By far the best most in depth news show is Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now. It’s a daily investigative news show where guests are asked intelligent and important questions and can speak uninterrupted in a civilized manner. Imagine that there is no yelling.

Link TV has a show called Mosaic that translates news from Iraq, Iran, Israel, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, UAE and many other Middle Eastern countries. Its a real eye opener. They have also started that same format with South American news shows.

Al Jazeera is a fantastic news show that easily rivals the BBC and CNN. It’s not that surprising since they are mostly ex BBC bureaus that became Al Jazeera bureaus. It’s so good that Ruppert Murdoch and the Saudi Prince who is the cowner of Fox are starting a rival Saudi Arabian news channel to compete with them. I am sure it’ll be just as fair and balanced.

For a $2 Million contract with FOX I would break my chicken feed contract with NPR. As I understand it Juan was warned not to break his contract. This was just a set up by FOX, and the sheep are following the talking points.

NPR should stick to weather reports, music, and little else. Anything else they get into is slanted to the left. I listened till I could take it no more. I liked some time slots. I also liked the technical shows on public tv. But, the historical documentaries started to slant. Stopped watching and went to the History Channel.

You’re obviously biased and don’t objective journalism when you see/hear it. NPR is probably the least biased and most objective and professional news source in the country. I can only guess that you think Fox is balanced?

  • Fed up Texan

I really could not care less about what is broadcast on NPR. It is run by a bunch of obama shoe licking scumbag libs, and I resent my tax dollars going there. I may as well just directly fund the communist party
