Inhofe Bashes Global Warming Science, Says Gore Is ‘Running For Cover’

March 19, 2010 by

Inhofe bashes global warming science, says Gore is 'running for cover'Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) publicly lashed out at Al Gore on Monday, referring to global warming as “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” while claiming that the former vice president is “running for cover” following recent questions regarding climate change science.

“He’s under siege these days,” said Inhofe, while speaking on the Senate floor. “The credibility of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is eroding, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) endangerment finding is collapsing and belief that global warming is leading to catastrophe is evaporating.”

“Gore seems to be drowning in a sea of his own global warming illusions nevertheless,” added the senator, who has been a longtime critic of the science behind climate change.

Inhofe also insinuated that Gore had gotten rich due to global warming, referring to the Nobel Peace Prize winner as the first “climate billionaire,” and said his recent op-ed piece in The New York Times was a simple act of desperation.

Meanwhile, the senator concluded his 30-minute speech by denouncing climate change legislation being authored by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and John Kerry (D-Mass.), claiming that any cap-and-trade bill would adversely affect the American people.

Please have a look at Alternative Three!!! I would appreciate your expertise not Al Gore.

    Thank you

  • http://sheltonjames@yahoo.com james shelton

It is my sincere hope that As## Gore will finaly use his head for more than a hat rack and leave this country he and his butt buddys have been rapeing. He’s a total dissapointment to all who have ever known the traitor. Just like our favorite rapist and family.

    • Joe H.

      james
I’d like to see him use his head for a sledge hammer on concrete!!!!

  • Matt V

based on real science the earth is going through a natural warmming period which happens about 10000 years its just man is present this time ans he has added to the warmming but is not the cause. the last report out of ohio state said the melting of the polar caps is happening 50 years to fat. Inhofe is an idiot.

    • Palin12

Speaking of idiots, your post is so full of mispelled words I can’t even understand what you’re trying to say.

    • Steve

Why are you calling Inhofe an idiot? He is saying the essentially the same thing your are: Gore is wrong, man is not causing the problem, natural cycles occur and we are in a warming cycle. Yes, the ice ages are on a time scale of about 10,000 years, but there are also smaller cycles overprinted on the larger cycles. Ever hear of the medieval warming period (and others)? FYI, I’m a geologist and I know Gore is a lying. The real science does not support his claims.

      • DaveH

Thank you Steve for your educated opinion.

      • Pat R

Since you are an expert, Steve; do you agree with other Scientists that are saying that the Earth is entering a cooling cycle?

        • JeffH

Pat R, why don’t you find that answer and get back to this site.

      • DG

And can you remember that Gore could have been PRESIDENT-that wackoff piece of s#*t could have been PRESIDENT of the United States—BUT actually the BIGGEST HOAX on this country is the INCOME TAX FRAUD–that has been going on for what 60+ years-boy have they been scamming us

    • Dylan

      Matt;
Didn’t you mean to say that A$$ Gore is the IDIOT? Judging from your post, you don’t believe in the Gore hoax, but you said Inhofe was the idiot. Get ready to duck and cover lol

  • Hello?

Al Gore is as stupid as Jimmy Carter and he is making a fool of himself buit the stupid liberals are eating it up and he is making millions off of these people, making speeches. No wonder this country is in such bad shape. The blind leading the blind. Now, where did Al get all this knowledge about global warming. He is just a half wit that was a parasite on his dads coat tail and that is the only reason that he ever got into Washington and some people can’t recognise his ignorance. Wonder why?

  • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

Global warming is and always has been only about establishing the “New Marxist World Order” under Obama! It started in Chicago in the 60′s with the two white weathermen out to overthrow white America and putting the blacks in charge of America! Charles Manson took off on this movement, remember him? Now these weathermen are in Africa uniting all the black nations together under Marxism to be led by the anti-messiah-In-Chief Obama! It’s history folks and YOU voted for it, although I understand that the swing vote was white women that put obama over-the-top! You figure?

    • Bob W

Victor You are correct in what you say but your really only touch the surface of the whole problem. As you said, the weathermen along with many other stronger groups have been working for years to cause a total failure of the American system. Until America fails, they simple do not have the power to overthrough modern governments which is their total desire. They want one world power and the power will be held by the few people that are pulling the strings and making things like Obama happen. Further I find it very interesting that the people tracking his legal spending to keep his history underwraps are reporting that he has already spend ten of millions of dollars with attorneys to hide his history. Question that should be asked by every thinking person is just what could he be hiding that requires that kind on money to hide. Wonder just how much he had to spend on top of that to buy the federal judges that feel an American citizen does not have the standing to legally question if he is legal or not. But that is just a vey simple question in all of the nasty mess this group of control freaks have been using to sell their nasty ideas to the people.

      • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

You do know that this is about Obama leading the UN, who is made up of over 70% third-world “black” nations? It’s called veto power! I’ll also bet that Obama was never born in America! But, it will not matter anyway because the world hates white men anyhow!

  • Bob W

Matt If you would bother to check the facts. During the middle ages the average temperature was much warmer then present day. Greenland for example was free of ice and even had several cities established to develop that land. England was warm enough to a longer growing season and that allowed them to grow high quality grapes and make good wines. Today that is not the case. The average temperature is southern France of today in more typical of Scotland during this time period.

The one thing that the hoax of global warming does not address is it excludes the single biggest part of the equation. All of the heat on this little globe comes from one source. That source has never been in equalibrium and will never be such. Therefore unless you inclde the affects of the little heater that drive the whole thing you are just using a hoax to make yourself rich and get lots of tax dollars. Just like Algore. Even the professor that start is brain washing in collage later refused to support the hoax.

    • DG

Don’t forget about the TARP installation in GAKONA, Alaska- a phased-array device invented by Tesla- deployed on 26 acres that can fry the ionisphere? and can change weather patterns

  • Richard

It’s time to get rid of the RINO Lindsey Graham. We don’t need more “experts” telling us what to do. One “expert” was too many.

  • Jeff

    I agree,
Lindsay Graham is a Democrat in sheeps clothing, I hope there is a real conservative lined-up to challenge him for his seat this year.

    • Warrior

      Ditto!

      • Claire

        Lindsay Graham?? UGH!!

  • Dee

This is a must read book and the people will understand exactly what is going on. http://www.scribd.com/doc/3272600/Dr-John-Coleman-The-Conspirators-Hierarchy-The-Committee-of-300

    • Steve

That “book” is a little too nutty. Besides, the list of references are not complete and difficult to search, and there are no footnotes or citations. It appears to be nothing but a conspiracy novel. Don’t put too much into that piece of work. I am not saying that covert things do not happen in this world, but to believe that it is occurring to this extreme is nothing short of paranoid. I am a conservative American with a sense of reality.

      • DaveH

I had a neighbor whose son served in the Gulf War. He told his mother he wasn’t allowed to talk about what happened over there. Why not? Only people up to no good want silence.
Whether all the conspiracy theories are right or wrong, when we give the Government the kind of Power we give them, the potential for misuse is enormous.
We need to cut back on the size of Government dramatically. And I don’t think the Republicans are up to the task. Vote Libertarian. Get us back to our roots:

        • JeffH

          Kudos to you DaveH.

  • Ben

I live in Calgary Alberta, and have lived in Canada my whole life. I have noticed through the years that it has been getting progressively warmer, especially the winter months. Call it what you want… global warming… natural warming of the climate. I doubt anybody on this post would sit in a running car while it’s parked in a closed garage. I wonder, isn’t this planet kind of like a big garage that’s trapping in all these toxic fumes? And if our planet is doing such a good job of filtering the carbon dioxide and turning it to oxygen, then why is there smog? Food for thought I guess. Anybody can come up with their own speculations about what we’re doing to our planet, but only time will tell.

    • DaveH

And I have noticed our summers getting much cooler for the last several years, and our winters getting longer. So What? What does that prove?
Read some books, there are many out there that explain the global warming hoax. Here is one:
      http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_9_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=politically+incorrect+guide+to+global+warming&sprefix=politically+inco

    • Joe H.

      Ben,
If you are so worried about man made goreble warming then you convince YOUR country to take on cap and trade and tell the world not to dig into MY pockets!!!!

    • JC

I lived in Calgary a good many years and still have family there, and yes it’s getting warmer…there. But look at Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, most of Europe and a lot of the world that is not used to seeing any snow at all, getting just smoked with it.
The Earth’s axis is changing measurably and is effecting the seasons.
The Sun itself has cycles of sunspots that effect weather.
It’s a natural cycle. And has been since the planet began. To think that we are somehow significant enough to change or effect this natural cycle is fairly arrogant. To think we can change it with taxation or by not driving an SUV, is just plain stupid.

      • Claire

JC–It seems to me that the spring weather where I live has become more volatile. Even though I do not believe in all the stories concerning global warming, I believe there are changes. I have reached the point where I am beginning to hate Spring. The storms and tornadoes have become too frequent the past few years. When I think of Spring I can hear the sirens going off. Tornado Alley has become wider.

        • Jana

I heard a report that the recent earthquake (not sure if it was Chile or Haiti they were talking about,) knocked us off our axis by two more inches. That would certainly have an influence on our weather.

          • Claire

Jana–I heard this on TV too. Thanks for reminding me, you made a good point. It could very well make a difference in the weather. Gosh, I hope it is for the best though. Egad, I hate twisters and tornadoes.

      • Lewis Munn

        1. It has been repeatedly published that the temperature curve PRECEEDS the CO2 curve for over a million years of cycles of long deep cold and a little bit of warmth! But consistently the temperature rises and that then induces the oceans to release more CO2.

        2. Most people forget things like the Krakatoa volcano explosion that put lots of dust in the atmosphere, and dropped world temperatures until it settled out. Nature has shown us that is going on, but politicians want something they can control, even if it is unrelated to the truth.

People do not look at the anomaly in the temperture rise caused by the “belching smokestacks” in the early 1950′s. when people were terrorized by the break in the normal warming, caused by smoke, and feared the ice ages were coming back. And if anybody cares to look, when the Environmentalists got the dusts out, “Global Warming” took off twice as fast as before the war and now is proceeding faster as the environmentalists “clean” the air. So they are responsible for the increases in the rate of warming!! Changes are tied to the dust level, not to the CO2 levels.

        3. IF we get good and warm, bills for heating will be reduced. We will have higher sea levels, and shallow oceans in areas that will allow an INCREASE in food production, badly needed. Aquaculture.

Also as the ice melts off the minerals locked under it will become available to help us build new cities planned for efficiency, and retire the old cities with the slums and crowded living conditions.

        4. And we can have real science work on what happens when the 90,000 years of bitter cold comes back! That cycle has also been going on for a million or more years. But with a pristine atmosphere, could be colder than usual.

IF science is not hamstrung by political correctness and politicians who know enough to be dangerous but not to be useful, we can take good advantage of the warming, and the increase in natural resources. And maybe colonize the L5 points and take advantage of space. No seasons there unless we wish, much more energy to do things, close to 0 gravity to make large construction easier…and if another asteroid hits the earth, the human race will not be wiped out!

Making folks like Al Gore rich and influential should NOT be among our goals!

    • JeffH

Being an outdoorsman and a duck hunter, I’ve paid close attention to this 40 year cycle. This year we had rain in October in California, an Indian summer in California, rainthroughout most of November in California right into February? Wow, this reminds me of the weather we experienced through the 60′s, which slowly started to change in the late 70′s and into the warm fall months through the 80′s until the last few years. Gore is another Global schmuck who used his own personal “ponzi” scheme to bilk us out of hundreds of millions. A whole bunch bought into it and are still being fed at the the trough.

      • Claire

JeffH–duck hunter? My gosh, earlier this month I saw flocks and flocks of snow geese and Canadian geese flying overhead around 5:00 p.m. when I got off of work. This went on for a couple of weeks. Hundreds of them! My son said there were white-fronted geese too. I have never seen so many geese! Of course this has always happened during early spring but never this many!! I used to have an inground swimming pool, and some would drop by and pay us a visit!! We had the pool taken out because it was too much trouble/work and expense plus now we have the dogs and needed the space. One year we had a pair of mallards. The male was gorgeous. They stayed for two weeks and then left. There are a lot of geese at the lake south and north of town so we see a lot of them flying around.

        • Claire

JeffH–Do you have dogs? If so, wnat kind? Just curious.

          • JeffH

Claire, not any more. In my earlier years, I ran German Shorthairs in field trials with the GSPC of California (60′s-70′s) and upland game hunting. As they got older and I changed jobs, and we retired from that after they passed on. I got a beautiful Gordon Setter in ’88, born on Valentines day – Dukes Firewind Storm Hunter or Duke, after John Wayne. Very intelligent dog with great style and a good nose. Did some training at Springset Kennels in Petaluma, Ca. Had to put him down at 6-1/2 years because we just couldn’t get his siezures under control. A big loss and no dog since then because my living situation isn’t right for another dog. I’ve become partial to the setter breed, particularly the Llewellyn Setter, but would probably consider an American Water Spaniel because of my love of duck hunting, although common sense would be a Lab. I’ve always like to go to the next level rather than the status quo which is why I got the Gordon and why I would consider the AWSpaniel.

        • JeffH

Claire, can I assume you live somewhere in the mid west? The snow goose populations have exploded over the year to the point that in some states they now have special spring hunts with generous to no limits. They are destroying their breeding grounds on the tundra throughout the Hudson Bay region to the point that they will literally not have food or nesting habitat to live or breed.

          • Claire

Jeff H—I am so happy I asked you what kind of dogs you had!! We live in Illinois and have 8 German Shorthairs! Right now, the oldest are two 9- year- old males and their sister. They are gorgeous. The pedigree I have is very good and we have the dark liver/white ticked. One of these males won Best Bred By Exibitor at the Nationals in Pennsylvania. They are all champions and got only a bit of hunting in before my husband became ill with so many health issues. They love the water and are excellent retrievers. When my litters were 5 weeks old, I put them in the bathtub with water up to their chests along with a bunch of plastic toys. They loved it. I also played ball with them and they quickly learned to retrieve and bring back to hand. I did this with all my litters. One female that is in Colorado has her AKC championship and only has to earn one leg towards her Master Hunter title. I have two three-year old males that I am currently showing to get their championships. The bad thing is that I cannot travel and be gone all weekend anymore. I will not leave my husband for an entire weekend so it is taking me a little longer to show the young males. So I go and get back in a day’s time. Several of the old ones we had that passed away had their hunting titles. Even though the dogs I own no longer go hunting, I am proud to say that the rest of them that are in good homes do hunt. I no longer breed, the last litter was in 2001. People from other states still breed to my males on occasion. I have a lot of good memories, it has been a fun time and my husband loves these dogs. Now we have reached the point in our lives that we have to “outlive” what we have so I will not add any more to my gang. I like the Setters, too. We had an Engish Setter back in the early 1960s and my husband hunted with her. Then in 1971 we got our first Shorthair and we have had them since then. I know the Remondi family, Stevie Casdorph, Bob Straight, from California. Also Millers-they had Placer Country shorthairs. Gosh, another dog I see at dog shows is the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I really like them. And I like the American Water Spaniel too. The sporting dogs are great fun.

          • JeffH

So nice to know you, even here in cyerspace. The Nova Scotia Tollers are very cool to watch work, albeit only on outdoor shows have I seen them. My dad was the pres. of GSPC of CA for many years and also judged and marshalled at two back to back nationals in the late 60′s. He quit it all and gave it all up when he decided to divorce my mom in the early 70′s. He taught me everything I needed to know and I just found new friends to hunt with, which expanded into some serious duck hunting over the years. I’m just not as active as I used to be, but still get out a couple times a month for target shooting, shotgun, rifle and pistol and spend about a week a year up in N. Ca to duck hunt with my buds.

          • Joe H.

            JeffH,
I see the progressive fascists got the bill by us. I guarantee there will be a new sheriff in town come November and November 2012!!! These slezoids are going to find out that when you IGNORE the wishes of 68% of the people, those who didn’t want it and 75% of the people, those that wanted them to start over from scratch, they do so at the risk of not being RE-ELECTED!!! WE WILL VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!!! Also now that Obummer publically insulted the SCOTUS What do you think is going to happen when this bill is contested in court??? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot by flapping your jaws!!!!

          • JeffH

Joe H., pretty disgusting! Yup, it ain’t over til it’s over as they say. This piece of unacceptable garbage will be challenged all the way to the Supreme Court. I pray on my mothers grave that every Democrat is thrown to the dogs over this arrogant display of disrespect they have committed on the masses. Obama and his Marxist ideaology must be stopped and blocked at every turn. 2012 has to end his coo of America. Mark my words, the attacks on our freedoms are just starting. They will start coming after your guns now that HC is out of the way.

The money that Al Gore has made off of the US Tax Payer with his Global Warming, makes Bernie Madoff look like a Choirboy…what a sham!

  • Drew

First of all, the biggest fraud perpetrated on the American people was the invasion of Iraq. Secondly, you are putting down Al Gore claiming that is global warming theory is not correct based on the facts, Ironically, or should I say moronically, you are calling Obama a Marxist, which has not one, I repeat, not one fact to back that statement up. Interesting

This editorial from Boston.com is from L. David Alinsky, son of Marxist and socialist Saul Alinsky, a communty organizer. Obama has patterned himself after the Saul Alinsky model in everything he has done since arriving in South Chicago.
ALL THE elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situations and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd’s chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda by the power people. The Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style.

Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.”

Global warming and ObamaCare are two of the same kind. It is called fool the American people as long as you can for all you can. The good news is that not all of us can be fooled. The Bad news it is us the working class that have to pay the freight of all the off the wall free loaders.

  • Les Brown

What is with this Graham charter supporting this non-sense? Come on North Carolina take a closer look at this guy and get some one in that will look at the facts not the emotions.

  • eddie47d

Bernie Madoff! Now there is a free loader and a conservative to boot.Talk about manipulation! So pardners, just hold on to your britches! Inhofe lives miles from nowhere. No sea level changes,no glacier melting,no major rivers to worry about. I guess he just has to worry about those nasty tornados. He’s a much bigger grandstander than big Al. Al Gore isn’t going anywhere. He’s delt with the anti-environmentalists before. They are a dime a dozen. Cap and Trade could work. I just think to many companies would pick and choose when and how to use it. Thus nothing would change.

    • DaveH

      Eddie,
It is all about a Government takeover of our Freedoms. And they use naive people like you to achieve their goal of Absolute Power.
Man Made Global Warming is a hoax. There is nothing we could do to significantly affect the climate cycles of the earth.
Impoverishing our country is not going to better our environment. The worst polluters are the poor countries as they don’t have the money to spend on a clean environment.

  • http://att.net Deborah

Al Gore, Progressive(Communist), he should be arrested for miss-representing the American people, his wealth confiscated and returned to the treasury. Global warming is a lie. We, could be energy independent, if, it weren’t for these communist.

    • DaveH

They want only one thing – complete control of our lives.

    • Jana

Algore should run for cover, duck his head in shame and pay a large fine for scaring so many innocent children who couldn’t go to sleep at night because they thought the world was coming to an end, all because of Gore and his fear tactics.
The fine should be large enough to make him stop and think before he tries to scam people again. All he is, is a con artist.

  • http://thetruthaboutminnesota.org Jim Paulson

It is clear that the Earth warms up and cools down in cycles and has been doing so for eons. What man has to do with it is little to nothing either way.

What Americans MUST study and begin to figure out is the well planned scam upon us in the United Nations Agenda 21 complete with sustainability programs, programs to stop the warming, but most of all control YOU! Global warming is but a part of the larger lie underway at the U.N. in Agenda 21 that seeks to control all agriculture including your garden, organic foods, raising animals, controlling ALL water sources, etc. It is all about world governance and control of everything and everybody. It would be wise for Americans to catch up on the truth and demand that the U.S. remove itself from the criminal U.N..
    see(http://thetruthaboutminnesota.org/a21/) and also

Forget about the two parties; they’re all led by the nose. Your government is not all it seems. WAKE UP AMERICA!! WAKE UP!!

A bill is already introduced to do just that (H.R.) and we should!

    • DaveH

You have my vote Jim. What was that Bill Number?

  • http://thetruthaboutminnesota.org Jim Paulson

I forgot the reference to the bill to end the U.S. membership of the United Nations. It is: H.R. 1146. Look it up at http://thomas.loc.gov

Gore, to me, has always seemed to be one of the DUMBEST individuals in Washington politics. He shouldn’t have been allowed in the White House, let alone run for prez.
I guess it’s true. When you’re a member of the “big tent” society [ultraliberal progressives], you have to brown-nose, suck-up, praise and worship EVERYONE in that damned tent.
At long last, Gore is getting the ‘recognition’ he truly deserves. How can anyone get away with being so STUPID? The good people of Tennessee should tell him to pack his bags and move to a place where his ‘talents’ will be appreciated [North Korea, Iran, the moon, etc.].
And, everyone who thinks Gore serves a purpose in America should have to go with him. GOOD RIDDANCE!

  • eddie47d

Inhofe is no scientist,at least Al Gore has studied the environment since the early 1970′s. We can all agree that the earth warms and cools in different cycles. This latest period of warming happened far more rapidly than most others thus the concern. Carbon Dioxide is now 388 parts per million. At the start of the Industrial Age (1880′s) it was 270 p.p.m. During the last ice age it was 200 p.p.m. That’s quite a jump especially when our atmosphere is becoming more polluted. The ice ages took hundreds and even thousands of years to form and retreat. What we see now (the global warming part)has only taken 20-30 years. So there is no hoax, just different ways to deal with it. Critical glaciers have been melting on every continent. This is where many nations get there drinking water and water for farming. 1/3rd of the Artic has melted in under 10 years and 90% of that is along the Russian coast line. That could be a bright spot for them. Out in Colorado the pine beetle has devestated the forests because the winters aren’t as cold. Thus the beetle lives longer and spreads faster. Just because acouple of scientists entered the wrong numbers in their report doesn’t mean change isn’t happening. You just have to read and go to these places that are being affected.

    • Joe H.

      eddie47d-cup,
what happens when you heat sea water??? It releases Co2!!! What is happening to our oceans?? they have warmed slightly! 2/3 of the surface of the globe is covered by ocean water. Thats a lot of CO2!!!Those waters can be warmed by many things the least of all is man. How many earth quakes have we had in the last five years? how many of those have been under water and have opened a flue of magma? think about it. combined with el nina there you have a good bit of warming!!!

      • http://SRT Kevin W.345

Guess what puts the bubbles in beer and soda pop, you are right co2. Keep them closed HA! HA!

        • eEarlw

A simple rule of physics: You cannot create or destroy matter, you can only change it’s form. all the Co2 on earth is still here. ditto for the others. All the water on earth has always been here; it’s called the hydro-logic cycle. CO2 level changes are caused by changes in the sun! During the medieval warming period it was much warmer than it is now!!!

    • s c

Rave on, Edward. Gore ‘studied’ global warming the same way Ted Kennedy ‘researched’ immigration reform [ha!]. Both got their ‘credentials’ the same way (via a Wall Street public relations firm).
Gore still has no clue, and Kennedy’s ‘efforts’ were as helpful as a weak fart into a high wind. If any group ever deserved to be seen as true flat-earthers and mind-numbed dreamers, it’s ultraliberal progressives and their uninformed, touchy-feely, ‘kiss mine and I’ll kiss yours’ useful idiot club.

      • Joe H.

        sc,
too bad he didn’t study it as hard as Kennedy did the bottle!!!!

  • ONTIME

I am a great admirer of the Sen. Inhofe and some other out spoken critics of this regime and scoundrels such as Algore but if this majority party gets their way under this administration and passes this hoax called health care then it is all for naught. The Bill of Rights will be rewritten under the guise of freedoms and the state will be telling you what your rights are and God can go pound salt.

The socialist playbook is one written for the FDR adminstration and he was stopped because the Supreme Court and the war, his failures as a politician and his handling of the depression economy were disastorus and had to be abandoned to capitalism in order to gear up for the fight coming to a world at war. Had the war not put a kink in his plans, FDR would have rewritten the Constitution and declared himself El Presidente’ for life. Progressives such as T. Roosevelt, w. Wilson and FDR have planted many land mines in order for this adminstration of OBama’s to now be in control, it is going to take a lot of effort to end this coming oppresion and restore the country to the vision the Founding Father’s had given to us.

  • Fredo

Global warming is real, guys. Get over it.

All satellite measurements agree, the earth has warmed over the last 30 years.

The basic science— that carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere— is as undisputable as gravity.

So is the fact that we are pouring billions of tons of it into the sky every year. (Mostly from easily replaceable coal power plants and low-mileage cars, mind you— not cow farts).

And global warming theory never said it should get warmer every day— instead, its prediction (especially for the US) is that weather should get more extreme— hotter highs, lower (if less frequent) lows, longer and dryer droughts, but also bigger storms and heavier rains.

So the fact that we still have winter isn’t really proof that global warming doesn’t exist… nor that some parts of the country got ridiculous, record-breaking blizzards (if anything, those are
exactly what you’d expect from global warming).

Meanwhile, worldwide, this has been one of the one or two warmest winters ever. Look it up.

With tens of thousands of scientists working on global warming, it’s not surprising a few of them made mistakes. Are you going to guess every game right on your NCAA bracket? No way. But being wrong once doesn’t mean you’re always wrong, or even usually wrong. And it certainly doesn’t mean the other 99.9% of qualified, professional physicists are also wrong!

Guys, you all just gotta get over it… back in the day a lot of people insisted the Earth was flat, too. What did it do for them! Just took them out of the running for looking for new trade routes… lost them a lot of money to be made doing things the new way… just like China will eat us for lunch at clean power while we keep sending $$$ to terrorists for more dirty oil, as long as you all have your way.

Time to get your heads out of the sand (and that’s putting it generously!)

    • DaveH

“Meanwhile, worldwide, this has been one of the one or two warmest winters ever”.
That statement alone would shoot you down in the mind of any thinking person. We have only had reasonably accurate temperature measurement stations for about the last 160 years. Everything prior to that is just a guestimate and any good scientist will tell you that.

      • American liberal

Wrong as usual Dave… I know you hate science as well as Americas goverment but this is scientific fact…. You can tell the earths climate thousands of year ago by Carbon dating as well as boring through the ice at both the North and south poles…. They can tell the earths climate by pertified tree trunks… Tree rings…. You shouldn’t have slept through science class….. But I’ll bet you believe the earths only 6500 years old and human and dinosaures walked the earth together…..it’s funny, you rightys will believe in talking snakes, Magic apples, a woman who has a baby without sex, burning bushes that speak, and other nonsense… But science that can carbon date must be liberal witchcraft…..

        • Joe H.

          Am a lib,
And why are there just as many knowlegable scientists that say it is a hoax??? Why did they slant the reading to fit their theory????

          • American liberal

You aren’t going to find 2 credible scientist that will say theirs no such thing as global warming or cooling…. It’s already fact…. They take data from ice cores, tree rings and carbon dating…. It’s happened over and over….so you don’t believe on warming?…you rightys just hate science,… You hate the goverment, you hate paying taxes… But you love wars and Jesus..

          • DaveH

After the collapse of the USSR in the 1980s, many of the temperature sensors were shut down due to lack of financial resources. Those stations were monitoring data in one of the coldest regions of the world, so of course temperature readings would then be skewed to the upside.
Keeping that in mind, the average world temperature fluctuation as measured between 1980 and present day is still only about .6 degrees Celsius (about 1 degree Fahrenheit). And Liberal NumbNuts thinks Ice Cores and Tree Rings would be accurate enough to predict comparable past history average temperatures.

            Folks,
Do your homework, and then pay attention to the fact that Ignorant Liberals, through Government, want to make your personal life choices. Unbelievable!

          • Joe H.

            Am Dunce,
I’m talking about Man Made Gorble Warming, air head!!!!

        • DaveH

The only thing that can be derived by carbon dating is the age of a carbonaceous material, Ignorant Liberal. As I said, ask any real scientist and he will tell you that the ice borings and tree rings yeild only estimates of historical temperatures. If you would read some of the many good books outstanding such as the “Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming” you might wake your Ignorant Liberal Brain up to reality.
I have two degrees, Ignorant Liberal, one in Biology, one in Math, and I graduated with honors in Both. And I have spent 40 years of home study looking into all issues with an open mind, unlike you Ignorant Liberal Zealots.

          http://www.dr5.org/william-briggs-guide-to-global-warming-evidence/

          • DaveH
          • DaveH

And More. Of course I know that Ignorant Liberal won’t read any of these. He would prefer to live in the land of Hopes and Dreams. Ignorance is Bliss:
            http://www.henrythornton.com/article.asp?article_id=2853

            From the above:
“However there is no doubt that the science behind the Kyoto Protocol is seriously flawed, and scientific analysis has focused on the temperature measurements themselves and how the “global average temperature” is calculated. Since the collapse of the USSR in 1989 most meteorological organisations around the world had to significantly reduce their monitoring stations due to a reduction in funding, resulting in the closure of many rural stations. This resulted in a bias towards the urban stations with a corresponding apparent rise in mean temperature. Even more devastating to the global warming position were three recent scientific papers showing the climate sceptics were right – that the end of the planet is not nigh. One of the curious facts mentioned by Michaels et al was that the higher the GDP of a nation, statistically speaking, the warmer it got. Indeed it was shown that up to half the warming in the UN surface temperature could be attributed to economic factors such as land use, changes in instrumentation etc”

          • JeffH

DaveH, you need to take it easy on these idiots. If they have to think too much, their pea brains migh explode.

    • JC

      Hey Fredo?…one word, Garbage!

      • JeffH

Didn’t Fredo die out on Lake Tahoe?

    • eEarlw

Excuse me, But the so-called panel of the IPCC wasn’t even for the most part comprised of earth science doctors, only a few. a deftly avoided fact is that of the approximately 30,000 SCIENTISTS that have commented only about 600 are pro “global warming”. I do believe that places them rather in the minority. So much for ” settled science”!

  • s c

Gore is a world-class loser. Without the backing of prostituted media firms and the quid pro quo backing of yahoos like Soros, Gore would never have been a public figure. Get over it. Any politician who wants to ‘save’ you from yourself is at best a
    ponzi scheme manipulator.
If Gore had even a faint trace of character (or common sense), he wouldn’t be in a position to get FILTHY RICH from unscientific, tree-hugging
“global warming” crap. However, he has no common sense (or character), and he’s drooling in anticipation of easy riches. Get over it, Fredo, and the rest of you easily-duped camp-followers.
When Gore does anyone a ‘favor,’ you owe it to yourself to know that Gore benefits via MONEY, power and privilege. Gore won’t do anything for anyone unless he benefits from it.
So how much money do you get from Gore for acting like one of his many stooge parrots?

  • American liberal

Here’s a little experiment for you that don’t believe burning fossile fuel can effect the climate….. This is only for you rightwingers……. Go out to your garage, shut the garage door… Sit in your car… Start the motor and let it run while you listen to the radio for 3 hours…….then come in here tomorrow and give us your honest opinion if the climate in your garage changes….. If it doesn’t change then I’ll be convinced Al Gore is wrong….

    • Joe H.

      Am a Lib,
no but I’ll sit in my car outside and run the engine for seven hours and we’ll see if it affects me or my neighbor!!!!

    • DaveH

That is pretty close to the dumbest statement I’ve read from any Liberal.

      • DaveH

        Ignorant Liberal,
Why don’t you just move to Cuba and enjoy the “good life” that you are trying to create here? It’s not far.

        • Joe H.

          daveH,
I hope he tries to swim it!!!

    • JC

Oh Look! The American Liberal is back with her abusive comments. No wonder the rest of America sees these sycopahnts as disgusting and vile…they are!

    • Claire

American Liberal– Oh yeah, we’re all going to sit in our cars with the engines running, garage door down and listen to the radio for 3 hours. Crikey, we’d be dead!!! It is DIFFERENT running our cars in the great outdoors! I understand your point, but if car exhaust fumes were so bad in the great outdoors, all animals and birds would be dying, as well as the human race. Sure, there is some pollution in the air we breathe and the water we drink. It is up to all of us to take care of our natural resources and the government should be doing their part. However, what about the factories that pollute? What about the industries that dump filthy contaminated water into our rivers and streams? Get on their butts. What about all the spacecraft sent into the earth’s atmosphere? Don’t you think that causes damage too? Who in the heck wants to live on the moon? Truthfully car exhaust fumes are not as bad as all the other issues I have mentioned. Give it a rest and go after the real contaminators.

      • Claire

American Liberal–I will also keep my ’69 Chevy Camaro with the hideaway headlights and 350 4-barrel engine. And my big full size ’94 Chevy Van (that rides like a Cadillac-it has a car chassis) plus my ’92 Buick Roadmaster and my ’00 Jeep. The Camaro and the Roadmaster are driven infrequently. The van goes to dog shows and the Jeep is the main vehicle that we use. All vehicles are maintained properly. At this point in time I sure as heck do not want to buy an itty bitty hybrid that costs 4 times more than what it is worth and sits only 1-2 people. Besides, I know some people that have hybrids and they are having a lot of car trouble. So now you can come after me and tell everyone that I am contributing to the pollution of the world. Why don’t you go after China and those other countries? They sure are doing a heck of a lot more damage to the earth’s atmosphere than the U.S. is doing.

    • Earlw

That is about the most idiotic analogy i have ever heard! You are confining combustion products in a small space and concentrating them. That is not a change in the WEATHER! Nice try but NO cigar!! You’ll have to do better than that….

    • http://www.NRA.com Stephaan

To the COMMIE LIBERAL THAT THINKS IT MAKES HIM AN AMERICAN JUST BECAUSE HE/SHE ATTACHES IT TO HIS NAME!!
      YEAH I’M TALKING TO YOU!!

Try picking up a science or chemistry book before you post such IGNORANT CRAP on here. Your stupid test that you pose would kill the people who tried it, NOT BECAUSE OF GREENHOUSE GASSES, BUT BECAUSE of the FOLLOWING:
      1. NOX (oxides of nitrogen)
      2. C O (carbon monoxide) &
      3. H C (unburned hydrocarbons)

AND NOT because of greenhouse gasses, you mental midget!!
      DO YOU GET IT?????
Gawd you’re stupid! You prove it to us with every one of your posts!!

      • Julie

Ahhh, chemistry 101… Thanks, I had forgotten about the NOX and HC..
You know you are just wasting it on that pathetic liberal moron. He won’t believe anything unless it rolls out of Lying Al Gores mouth or Obamas butt! Only then is he willing to lap it up, like the little loyal dog that he is !

  • Jim H.

At the big conference in Coppenhagen, the meetings weren’t about what new tech we could use to solve the problem of global warming or finding solutions. It was all about how much to tax something that could cause greenhouse gasses. It isn’t about science or finding a solution. It’s about money and control. What is that cow flatulence tax in Scotland again?

    • JeffH

Wasn’t there a meltdown from the heatwave and drought in Copenhagen recently? he he

  • American liberal

    Global warming is scientific fact…..

    • Joe H.

      Global warming is a hoax!!!!

    • DaveH

      Ignorant Liberal,
Which Greenhouse Gas in the most predominant (by far)?
What are the major Greenhouse Gases?
What percentage of Greenhouse Gases does Man produce?

    • JC

Joe? Dave? why would you even respond to this moron?

    • Earlw

      Show us YOUR proof!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • American liberal

Inhofe is as big a fool as Glen Beck and Sarah Palin… Who now wants a million dollars an episode for her reality show she wants…. Her new name is ” Hollywood Sarah”… she’s made fools of you rightys…

    • Jim H.

Hi, American? liberal, The earth is warming, it cycles that way.It has ever since the begining of the planet. Is it man made? No real proof. Will taxing cow flatulence save us, or just raise the price of beef? What’s Sarah Palin’s reality show have to do with Gore being so very wrong.

      • Joe H.

        Jim H.
now what they ought to tax is the politicians in Washington!!! All that hot air expelled by them, talk about global warming!!! ‘ll bet the cherry blossoms in D.C. are early this year!!!

      • DaveH

One of the biggest issues of Global Warming which gets left out of discussions is the fact that it would generally be better for most of us if the earth did warm a little.
For instance, the medieval warming period was a time of expanding populations driven by increasing harvests.

Personally, I could use a little warmer winters where I live.

        • JC

Exactly. History shows that times of warmer temperatures have been prosperous times.

  • Kim Che Guy

    Global Warming Fraud
About 150 years ago the latest Little Ice Age ended. It had lasted from about 1400 to about 1850. During this time, in Europe for example, the Dutch canals and the Thames River in England froze over; glaciers in the Swiss Alps expanded enough to “eat-up” a mountain village. The weather devastated agriculture and thousands of peasants starved to death. North Sea storms and tidal surges over whelmed low costal areas and thousands more were drowned.
Prior to this the world had gone through the Medieval Warm Period that extended from about 800 to around 1300. During this time farmers grew wheat north of Trondheim, just a few degrees south of the Arctic Circle. In England farmers grew wine grapes, and the Norse, in 984 settled two colonies in Greenland. These colonies were abandoned when the Little Ice Age arrived and temperatures plunged and glaciers once again covered the land. The little Ice Age didn’t affect only Europe of course. A small ice pocket in New Zeeland for, example, grew-up to become the famous Franz Josef Glacier.
During another ice age, 45000 years ago, so much sea water was locked in ice caps and glaciers that people walked on dry land from Borneo to Australia.
The meteorological history of the world, summed up in one word, is “change”. Ice ages, warm periods, drought cycles that have changed civilizations, monsoons that rain too much or too little. Then it does it again and again. Once upon a time the deadly dry Sahara Desert was a grassy savanna with lions and big game.
The U.N. Environment Program and the World Meteorological Organization Panel on Climate Change states that global temperatures have increased by a “run-a-way” 0.6 degrees Celsius since 1861. Regarding the future of global warming, their report is replete with words such as; might, perhaps, likely, may, and expected. (That’s “expected” as in “we wrote the computer program and got the results we expected.”)
To demonstrate the vagaries’ of climate change and Mother Nature, the Grand Pacific Glacier is an excellent example. That glacier was 4000 feet thick, 20 miles wide, and 100 miles long when discovered 1794 by George Vancouver. By 1879, when visited by John Muir, it had retreated 48 miles. This was not only during the tail end of the Little Ice Age, but took place before that evil icon of global warming, the automobile, was invented. So don’t blame your car.
As to the future of climate change, facts trump theory. The climate will change whether we like it or not. Whether we do anything or not. It will get warmer, or colder, wetter or dryer. Global warming doesn’t depend on my BBQ or your carbon footprint.
That being said, I must say that most of the things we are exhorted to do in the name of “Global Warming” are good things. No one likes dirty air and foul water. The seas must be protected from pollution and the land protected from poisons and environmental damage. Air quality depends on clean running engines, increased mpg, sane driving habits, clean electricity generating plants and clean industrial smoke stacks.
Now that you know the facts, can we stop the Man-Made-Global-Warming hysteria, and just do what is right because it is the right thing to do?

    • Earlw

Excellent and detailed explanation of the history of climate, well stated, well written, and minimal to no typos, not to mention good grammar. Makes stating facts that much easier………All the liberals out there will remain unfazed by facts, to admit otherwise would make them look like fools. Come to think of it, they are fools!

  • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Tim Branderhorst

It has been proven that, since 2006, the earth has been cooling. Man has not or can not start and therefore stop either. The earth does it without our help; however, Al Gore has shown that we should be good stewards of this earth. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to clean up what we can and look for alternative sources of fuel (personnaly, I prefer nuclear) Al Gore is not an idiot, but I think he is an evil man.

    • JC

That’s a pretty good observation. Not buying into the Global Warming Scam is not saying we shouldn’t be more responsible stewards.

  • eddie47d

Kim Guy,good article with important facts. But the global warming deniers of today are probably like the ice age deniers of yesteryears. They probably stood there and proclaimed it wasn’t happening. No liberal is denying the ice age or the warming periods. Were just seeing changes happening at a far greater rate during our present period. There’s an island off of So. Argentina where an 8 sq. mile glacier melted in 5 years. That’s extremely unusual just like the spreading droughts in Africa and growing deserts. All were saying is be prepared for it is changing the world.

    • JC

How do you know that the calving of that glacier is unusual? Unusual compared to what? Compared to the last 200 years? the last 1000? years? 10,000?
What constitutes “usual” on a planet that is billions of years old?

    • DaveH

Glaciers melt and form all over this planet. It is beyond human control. Only naive men believe that mankind can change earth’s natural cycles:

    • Sheila

      Eddie47d
Remember 15 years ago when THESE SAME SCIENTISTS were proclaiming that we were going into another ice age/global cooling.
These are the same (not all qualified scientists with degrees of any sort)that are changing their story NOW because they couldn’t make enough money (no funding, no support from congress) with the “cooling scare” so have since switched to the global warming hoax!
The only reason they’re hyping “warming” now, is because cooling didn’t pique anyones interest, and was not as easy to “sell” to the apathetic public, OR get funding (BIG MONEY) from congress!
Scientists win because they get funding forever!
Congress/government wins because they get never ending control over the public( that’s us)
The only losers? you and me, us, the citizens. We lose freedoms and it costs us a hell of a lot of money, not only in taxes that we’ve lost in the last ten years,(due to government funding this hoax) but continuing taxes in the future, AND additional expenses that we will spend every day in higher prices(cap & trade)

  • Rolland

I believe we should ALL follow algore’s example on energy use. We ALL need SUV’s, private jets and massive home energy use (9-10 times the national average). What a big concern HE has for the global (MAN MADE global warming) climate! We can ALL buy carbon credits (let’s make algorp rich-follow the money)!! Let’s follow nancy pollutsy in flying (her PERSONAL) airforce jets all over the country every weekend. Don’t forget all the booze and food. As we know, for a fact, OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS actions have NO affect… Like eating a fast food restaurant 1500 calorie burger and fries and washing it down with a DIET soda-the DIET soda cancels out the calories of the rest of the meal!! Also, in the past few years, of the 6,000 US government weather recording locations only about 1,000 remain. Guess which ones have been eliminated-if you guessed cold climate stations-you are correct. Does that have any bearing on the US temperature increases????

    • http://www.NRA.com Stephaan

      Rolland,
Interesting you brought up Al Gores electrical usage. I saw an article about a year ago comparing Gores home to Pres. Bushes. If I remember correctly, Gores spread used 5 or 6 times more energy. He has NO energy saving systems, no water recovery systems, NOTHING at all on his place. I will see if I can find the article and post it below.

  • Jay

None of it matters.. after Obama gives you all the shaft on health care he will move on to the carbon tax just to finish you off.. The to add insult to injury the media will trumpet that he is the greatest president ever.. tell me this isnt true…

  • Alex

None of Al Gore’s claims about global warming can tuly be viewed as credible because he’s just another liberal barking left-wing propaganda.

  • Alex

None of Al Gore’s claims about global warming can truly be viewed as credible because he’s just another liberal barking left-wing propaganda.

    • Joe H.

      Alex
nope not just another, one of the top ten!!!

  • Tim C

Alex, I’m pretty sure that global warming is more of an Al Gore issue than a liberal issue. There are a couple prominent Republicans who support it also.

  • DaveH

Some of you may not know that in the 1970s there was a lot of anguish over “Global Cooling”. The environmentalists were crying for the Government to do something about the coming Ice Age. Unfortunately, mother nature didn’t march to their drums and soon the cooling trend had become a warming trend.
    http://mises.org/daily/3899

If we learn one lesson from all of this, it’s that Government likes to grow, and Scientists like to get grant money so they can be paid to do their research. Of course, if the Government is paying the bill, there is pressure on the Scientists to give the Government the results that it desires, hardly a conducive environment for good Science.

    • JC

Exactly Dave, it was about control and fear mongering then, same as it is now.

  • http://yahoo Dennis in KC

James Shelton: You called Gore a traitor.

He’s a Vietnam veteran, not some asshat draft dodger like, oh, I don’t know, 5 deferment Dickless, that famous National Guard deserter, W, Saxby Chambliss, wasn’t Tom Tancredo diagnosed as too nervous ? And what about everyone’s favorite anal cyst, Rush Limbaugh ?

Before you go calling someone a traitor maybe you should look at your side of the aisle. They’re the ones that raped this country, Sparky.

    • Claire

Dennis in KC–I agree with you about Limbaugh. I never could stand the guy. However, both sides of the aisle do leave a lot to be desired. Both parties are guilty of being unethical in many ways. Clinton also dodged the draft, didn’t he? Or am I wrong on this?

      • http://yahoo Dennis in KC

You’re right and I used to just go ape every time I’d see him walk down the steps of Air Force One and salute the Marine at the bottom.

My wife said that he had made a conscious decision and my reply was that if my dad and her dad had made those same decisions during WWII we’d be communicating in German or Japanese.

However, that does not excuse these people calling someone who served a traitor. Look at that Chambliss guy in Georgia, the one who called Max Cleland a terrorist sympathizer. Cleland lost three limbs in ‘Nam while Chambliss hid out.

The BS that the right wing cowards spew just pisses me off, and I can call them cowards because I went. How anybody could vote for a deserter from the National Guard just astounds me.

        • Claire

Dennis in KC–I agree with you on this issue. No one has the right to call anyone a traitor especially if they evaded being in the military themselves. Personally I support the American soldier first and foremost. I do not have any respect for the draft dodgers. Clinton is not an honorable person. My son was in the Air Force, and he was in the Air Guard for 12 years. During Desert Storm, some of the men in his unit were called up–the 183rd–but my son did not have to go. I am proud to say my son would have gone willingly. But they took the guys with more seniority. And I agree with you–how in the world could anyone vote for a deserter??

        • Jim H.

Dennis in KC, Are you saying that people in the National Guard aren’t really serving? Alot of the troops in Iraq and Afganistan are Guard troops.

          • Claire

Jim H–I do not think he was saying that. Read his post carefully. Apparently he meant Chambliss?

          • Jana

Jim, That is right. In fact the 1544th out of Illinois lost so many in Iraq that Illinois complained and got them transferred. They, both men and women were some of the bravest!

        • Joe H.

          Dennis,
I am right wing as a conservative. I also served 18 months in RVN, now if you still call me a coward, you can kiss my assets!!! Clinton not only ran to England, he demonstrated against this country there on foreign soil. so he’s not only a coward, he’s a traitor to this country!!! This goof ball we have now never served an hour of duty, with a war going on. At least Bush served in the National guard. So I will say he is just as much of a coward as any of them so next time engage your brain before opening your mouth!!!

        • Dylan

          Dennis in Kansas City;

You really need to get your facts straight, and I don’t mean straight in the politically liberal vein, I mean in the honest truthful way!

        • http://www.NRA.com Stephaan

          Dennis in KC;

OK Dennis, you hate Bush, you hate the National Guard, and you hate right wingers.

Something tells me you voted for that LEFT WING DESERTER CLINTON, AND PROBABLY THAT KENYAN DUDE THAT LIVES IN THE WHITE HOUSE NOW!
Why don’t you tell us how you feel about those choices that you made?

          BUSH SERVED! CLINTON DIDN’T…HE RAN!!
          BUSH SERVED ! OSAMA DIDN’T!
Osama did serve in A.C.O.R.N. Is that what you based your vote on, or was it all his lies that you fell for???

  • Al Gay

global warming is- or was a ruse to create a one-world government and burden us with more taxes. no1 is falling for it now.

  • DaveH

I can’t believe there are still Liberals shouting the Global Warming Mantra. That hoax has been spanked and put to bed months ago.
And remember Liberals, it is no longer “Global Warming”, it is “Climate Change”.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/political_commentary/commentary_by_debra_j_saunders/the_winter_of_global_warming

    • Claire

DaveH–Hi– Illinois has had a bit of climate change. I keep screaming about the tornadoes and violent storms every spring. Tornadoes were very rare but not anymore. As I said, Tornado Alley has become a wider path.

  • http://www.bernardsouw.com Bernard Souw, Ph.D.

Scientists who join the rhetoric of Global Warming are violating the basic principles of science by effectively spreading Sokal Hoax. Read the article I wrote (on request) for the American Physical Society in my website .

  • Claire

Jeff H–It is so sad to hear about the geese. I just had never seen so many this year. Huge flocks, hundreds of them. The habitats being destroyed will never be replaced. It is a shame. I also feed birds all winter. One bird I do not care for is the Cooper’s Hawk. They eat other birds. I had one around here last summer and he killed a few before he left. I am really off the subject. Thanks for your reply!

    • JeffH

Man is doing what he can with the great conservation orgs like Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl working with local, state, federal and foreign biologists and agencies etc, etc, which have been a primary reason that migrating waterfowl and the wetland habitats have been growing steadily through the years to numbers that have rivaled any modern era. If we can’t help sustain the habitat for liveable snow geeses numbers and find a way to save the breeding grounds, then mother nature will handle it for us.
Don’t fret about the hawk, that is a natural for predator and prey.

      • JeffH

I must mention that the enviros and liberal groups like PETA and Humane Society do nothing but interfere with these oganizations. If it weren’t for the outdoor people, hunters and sportsmen, who are the real conservationists, we wouldn’t have the dollars to bring back the recovery of migrating waterfowl and the environment they need to survive.

        • Claire

Jeff H–PETA!!! That filthy outfit. I hate that group. They have been hitting dog shows, and releasing the dogs!! Gossip is that PETA was at the Belleville, Il shows, and supposedly put antifreeze in some of the dogs’ water. Also, cut-up glass was thrown everywhere. They are nuts. I have not dealt with them yet but if I ever do, there will be hell to pay I can promise that!! Even if I end up in jail. There is always a first time I guess. Years ago a person could travel with numerous dogs but no more. I just take one at a time and I keep him with me constantly. Regarding the environment, on my property in the country my husband used to buy quail and release them. He always had plenty of quail and pheasants to hunt. And yes, the hunters do a better job I think at maintaining balance. Sometimes more interference does more damage than any good.

      • Claire

Ducks Unlimited is a great organization. The hawk–he gobbled up baby birds! Yuk. I know it is Nature but geez.

        • Joe H.

          Claire,
Even a bluejay will do that!! A crow, blackbird or a starling. Squirrils too!!

          • Claire

Joe H–I have seen other birds fight each other but never have seen them actually kill until I saw this hawk. Survival of the fittest, I guess.

    • Earlw

Claire, has it ever occurred to you that Cooper’s hawk are part of the natural balance of things, and that you killing some of them MIGHT upset the balance…Who are you to play God?

      • JeffH

Earlw, you obviously did not read one word of Claire’s comments and made the usual and oh so common assumptions!
“and that you killing some of them MIGHT upset the balance”
“Who are you to play god?”

You must be a stincking liberal!
She did not talk about killing them one time and why would she be accused by YOU of “playing god”…

        • Claire

Jeff H–He probably belongs to PETA.

      • Claire

Earlw–Sorry to disapoint you–I did not kill the hawk. Read my post correctly. Who am I to play God?? I have news for you-I do not try to play God. And who are you to tell me that I am doing such a thing? Of course, I know the natural balance of of things. Do not bother me with false accusations.

        • libertytrain

Claire – your post was proof that people don’t always read the words – just imagine words there that aren’t!

          • Claire

libertytrain—HI!!!! They read what they want to read, hear what they want to hear. Me of all people, killing a bird or an animal?? Never. I have stopped in the middle lane of traffic to rescue a dog in 5:00 p.m traffic. I had cars honking at me–I just gave the good old middle finger salute. I stopped, opened up the back door and the dog jumped in!! Thankfully she had a collar and rabies tag so I was able to find her owner.
On another note–it won’t be too much longer and you will be doing the “very happy dance!!”

          • libertytrain

Claire – have had my daughter home for almost two weeks now and she goes back to Afghanistan on Saturday. It’s been a good visit but her 3 year old is going to really have a hard time when his mom leaves him again. But you are right, his dad will be back from Afghanistan (till the next deployment) in June -
I certainly know you wouldn’t harm a critter – and can’t believe someone would even suggest that -

          • Claire

libertytrain—I am happy to hear your precious daughter is at home. Give her a hug for me. It will be hard for the three-year-old, and equally as hard on the mother. And June will be here soon. God bless all of you, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wonderful family.

          • libertytrain

            Claire – thanks so much – you’re a Sweetie!

Hey, I just got an email from The National Association for Gun Rights, and they said that the Department of Education is joining ranks with the Internal Revenue Service and buying 12 guage shotguns. I haven’t read it yet so don’t know what’s up. Here’s the link. When you get there look on the right side of the page and you will see the note with a further link.
—does the Dept. of Education need shotguns for?
