Import Prices Up 0.3 Percent In July

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 (UPI) — U.S. import prices climbed 0.3 percent in July after dropping 0.6 percent in the previous month, the Department of Labor said Tuesday.

Prices for fuel imports rose 0.4 percent, contributing to the overall rise. Non-fuel import prices in July rose half as much, climbing 0.2 percent.

Over the past three months, import prices have dropped 0.1 percent. In the previous seven months before May import prices rose 13.7 percent.

Export prices for the month headed lower with all export prices dropping 0.4 percent, while agricultural export prices fell 4.3 percent.

Non-agricultural export prices rose 0.2 percent, the report said.
