If It Weren’t For McDonald’s…

June 10, 2011 by

*Look who is hiring. That sure was a miserable jobs report for May, wasn’t it? The Labor Department said that after spending billions of dollars on Federal boondoggles, only 54,000 new jobs were created in the country that month. But here’s the real stunner: More than half of those jobs may have been from just one employer. McDonald’s hired 30,000 new employees in April, continuing its reputation of helping more young people enter the workforce than all other employers combined.

*And look who’s picking on McDonald’s. Did you see the ad signed by 500 doctors urging McDonald’s to “retire” Ronald McDonald? The docs’ complaint is that the McDonald’s mascot encourages children to make poor food choices. Have these people never heard of parental responsibility? What a bunch of pompous blowhards. If you see your doctor’s name on the list, I hope you will find another healthcare provider.

*Are fat people starving in this country?A USA Today headline warned that hunger is a serious problem in the land of plenty. It read: “1 in 6 hungry in America.” Another article in the same issue of the same paper warned that “rising obesity” costs the nation $344 billion annually. According to the paper’s experts, fat people are responsible for 21 percent of the healthcare bills in this country. According to 2007 figures from the Centers for Disease Control, about one in four Americans is obese.

*The butchery in Syria gets worse. Here is the first sentence in a New York Times article about violence in the Middle East: “Syrian security forces fired at mourners in the central city of Homs during a funeral procession on Saturday for eight protesters who died the previous day, killing at least five people and wounding several others, witnesses and human rights activists said.” For once, I am at a loss for words to express my disgust at what tyrannical government will do to its citizens.

Children influenced by Ronald McDonald are too young to go to Mc Donads by them selves, so that is the problem with the parent! Ronald Mc Donald is linked with many great causes the company has championed. Hw about the Ronald Mc Donald house for people being treated for cancer ! It is a wonderful place where people can stay for free while getting treatments for cancer and it is for adults and children. My husband stayed there years ago when he had to have a series of treatments for cancer and we lived almost 200 miles away. It was free and he could bring in his own food and they had a kitchen fully equiped for him to use. The rooms were a combination of a bedroom with a connecting bath and also a living room with cabel TV. I think it is time for people to lay-off McDonalds. This is a free country and we are free to eat what and where we want to. The responsibility lies with us not McDonnalds ! Get a life !

Well said! We have to accept responsibility as well as our government. It is sinful that we waste food while children are starving in third world countries.it started when our parents would load our platwes and tell us we can’t leave the table until we clean our plates. Now,with many more people moving at a more rapid pace fast food resturants have become the norm.I believe it is a resturants responsibility to let their customers know how much saturated fat , tran fat and calories are in their food. Otherwise, like you said, we have a choice of where and what to eat.

I don’t know what became of it in the end but I do remember during the George W years they wanted to make the jobs at fast food places like Mc Donalds and Wendy’s manufacturing jobs. The job numbers were bad in the manufacturing sector so this was there way to baffle the American public in to thinking the job market improved dramatically.I thought it was hilarious at the time how they relied so much on an ignorant America, but it is truly sad.

Way to flip it to GWB ‘s fault.lol
Original poster is correct. This new liberalism movement of political correctness has been attacking every establishment in America giving irresponsibleity a green light and the negligent parents another reason to excuse their lack of being real parents. They get involved in trying to violate every part of our constitutional rights to freedom. The have no intention of entering these fast service restaurant but the power to control anyone elses freedoms of choice in food, drink, religion, smoking cigarettes = bad, smoking weed though is ok. The examples go on.

Gays in our military? Do you really believe that 75% of American Citizens actually agreed with this as the media said? So if you do the math that means that 1 of every 4 of us or of everyone we know is in favor of it. I couldn’t even locate one person that I know that was ever even polled! So now they are saying the majority of us want hamburgers to no longer be sold at hamburger restaurants? Good grief what BS!

It is time for us to all stand up and make them read the US Constitution if we have to press their faces into it! If they do not want to accept it then an armed escort to the nearest border is in order. And yes I know this post was a little while ago, the issue is still here and they won’t stop until they take away our freedoms, or we take them away from what they hate…the USA
