Huntsman Drops Out, Endorses Rival Romney

Jon Huntsman dropped out of the 2012 Presidential race Monday after offering an endorsement to establishment-favored candidate Mitt Romney.

“The race has degenerated into an onslaught of negative and personal attacks not worthy of the American people,” Huntsman said at the beginning of a press conference in Myrtle Beach, S.C. “I call on each campaign to cease attacking each other and instead talk directly to the American people about how our conservative ideas with create American jobs.”

The candidate then went on to offer support for Romney, a candidate he has sharply criticized in the past, as the best choice for Republican voters.

“It’s now time for our party to unite around the candidate best equipped to beat Barack Obama,” Huntsman said. “Despite our differences… that candidate is Gov. Mitt Romney.”

Huntsman’s endorsement has raised the eyebrows of many conservative pundits and voters who remember his scathing attacks against Romney. In a September interview, Huntsman referred to Romney as a “perfectly lubricated weather vane” who frequently changes direction on important issues. The two have also had tense moments at past debates, which can be seen below:

Hummm, WHAT?, no posts from Romney or Huntsman supporters?? OK, I’ll break the ice. . . ;)

WHY did some of these people get into the race if their only accomplishment was to back and out and then endorse Mutt? Is THAT why they got into the race in the first place?
It’s just about enough to smell a fricking RAT, folks. Unless your campaign was ‘primed’ by rich and powerful backers [ala Bubba Clinton and Obummer], it usually takes name recognition to get America’s attention when it’s time to vote.
This crap is WAY too convenient. I think some of those losers wouldn’t have been in any race if they weren’t there to get out at the right time and then stoop to backing Mutt Rimjob. We’ve been had by RINOs and neocons AGAIN, people.

Your second question also contains the answer.

    One Mormon to another?

Maybe Huntsman is hoping for a VP position or Secretary of State.

I liked Huntsman’s easy going calm style but since he endorsed Romney he has been exposed and no different.

I don’t trust Romney, never did, he reminds me of a used car salesman! Then when McAmnesty endorsed him, I knew I was right! Now another Rino, Huntsman endorsed him and that is the straw that breaks the camels back for me! My instincts were right and now proven! If Romney wins, you might as well vote for Hussain, same difference!

I don’t particularly care for Mitt but if it comes down to him being the last man standing, I have to vote for him in hopes that we can beat Obama.

      I agree – “Anybody but Obama” – but. . .

Let’s not throw in the towel yet!

There are still a number of much more conservative candidates that are still available and that would be an even better alternative to Obama than Romney.

Are any of them the ‘Ideal Candidate’? – - Of Course Not!!

Are they better to pin our hopes on for meaningful changes? – - I thinks so!!

The so-called super pacs are among the biggest threats to American democracy. Vast sums of money with no controls allow the super rich to buy elections. Where do you think these candidates like Romney and Newt are getting so much funding for ads they can conveniently disavow?

With the possible exception of Ron Paul, there is not a decent candidate out there.

Listened to an interesting interview with a French political activist today on RT…You’d have thought he was talking about American politics…two parties that are really one in the same. Ron Paul is the only difference maker in the game but just like in France the “Establishment” controlled media simply blacks out the opposition…the third alternative.

The Mormons must stick together. Talk about a “block” of votes.

  • Adair1979

One saying anybody but Obama and say they are voting for Mitt Romney is a oxymoron he is Obama, for shame we will have another 4 years of the same crap and the people will be saying the same thing when they voted for Obama. I wonder how many times around the unaware American people will keep going, before they get it or it’s just doesn’t matter because you never woke up in time to save any of your freedoms! Ron Paul win win situation We either can Win and work to stop the inevitable or it will continue and we can say tried to tell you!!!

Huntsman has said all along that Romney was a Flip-Flop and not fit to be president. Now Huntsman Flip Flops and endorses Romney.Must be a Mormon thing.

It’s now time for our party to unite around the candidate best equipped to beat Barack Obama,” Huntsman said. “Despite our differences… that candidate is Gov. Mitt Romney.”

Well, well, well, he couldn’t beat Obama in 2008, so what makes him think Romney can beat him this time? I do not trust Romney and will not vote for him. That’s all there is to it. Of course, I won’t vote for Obama, again, like I didn’t the first time either.

This is simply STRATEGY to eliminate Ron Paul…many candidate choices to DIVIDE the vote and then one by one they drop out and endorse the candidate which the ESTABLISHMENT wants,in this case Romney

I have said it befor and will repeat it,Freedom does not stand a chance and we must fall to the lowest level and a REAL REVOLUTION will be the only action which will bring back Liberty.

I support ANONYMOUS, our only chance I believe because it is the beginning of the Real revolution….
