How To Protect Your Family And Wealth From The End Of America

How To Protect Your Family And Wealth From The End Of America

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates the 20 largest industrial nations (known as the G20) are on course to see their combined government debt exceed 100 percent of their combined gross domestic product (GDP) within three years.

Debts of this size simply cannot be financed, let alone repaid. The first step in this great unraveling is underway — the collapse of the euro.

In March 2010, I wrote:

Like dominoes, the highly indebted economies of Europe are going to topple. Greece was first. But plenty more problems are coming. Italy has no way to meet its obligations. Nor do Portugal or Spain

Events over the past two weeks in Greece should give you plenty of warning governments all over the world have too much debt.

What will the U.S. do when a major European financial institution fails? If the resulting contagion causes one of America’s major banks to fail, what will the U.S. government do?

The answer, my friends, is simple: It will print, print, print, and print. Here’s the important fact to remember…

The United States is the only government in the world that can actually afford to underwrite the world’s banking system. That’s not because we have any real savings, but because we control the world’s reserve currency. It’s a paper standard, which means we can always print more of it.

The U.S. announced exactly that in November 2010, setting up an enormous $1 trillion bailout fund for the euro via the International Monetary Fund and beginning a new round of quantitative easing — this time $600 billion of new dollar reserves will be injected into the U.S. Treasury market.

Despite the enormous buying of Treasuries by the Fed, long-term Treasury bond rates have soared on these announcements. Investors have begun to flee the U.S. dollar into all other forms of savings:

  • Coal and oil are trading at two-year highs.
  • Corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, and sugar are trading near multi-year highs.
  • Gold and copper are trading just shy of record highs.
  • Silver is trading near a 30-year high.
  • Even long-depressed natural gas is now rallying.

This list sums up the arguments and warnings we’ve been giving for years. We are not going to have a crisis. We are in a crisis right now

What’s the best way to protect yourself?

Well, if you had done nothing this year but buy real money (gold) and short U.S. Treasury bonds, you would be sitting on a significant profit.

Take a look at the chart below. Gold (the blue line) is up about 16 percent in the last year. The Treasury bond fund (the black line) is flat.

The credit of the U.S., which backs every bankrupt government in the Western world, must soon collapse. Our ongoing debts and deficits are too big to be financed in sound money. Thus, the Fed is turning on the printing presses and they will be running for a long time.

The time to act is now.

It’s critical you orient your investments so you’re long on real money and real assets and short on bad credits — starting with the U.S. government. Buy the things people need — food, energy and money. Sell things that are vastly encumbered — especially the stocks of corporations that are deeply in debt.

As you look through your portfolio, the first thing you ought to consider adding is silver. Silver is the best hedge against paper money for one simple reason: When it’s not used as money, there’s very little demand for it. When it is used as money, there’s a tremendous demand for it.

I expect gold will continue to move higher, too… much higher. If you wanted to put the U.S. dollar on a 10 percent gold-reserve standard, the price of gold would have to reach nearly $10,000 an ounce to back all the outstanding money of zero maturity. Assuming gold reaches this price, the price of silver at its full monetary value (at a 15:1 ratio to gold) would be around $650 an ounce.

I know these prices seem ludicrous today… but those numbers are real.

Remember, we’re a long way from the end of this crisis. Most people don’t even own any gold or silver yet. So now is the best time to hedge your portfolio… before the rest of the world realizes a massive inflation is underway.

Good investing,

What is your opinion regarding rental homes? I have everything invested in property and mostly with a mortgage. At this time they are all rented and doing well. The market to sell is not good although better in south Alabama than most.

    • James

Michael, Your property investments are great! Whatever happens to the dollar (which I believe is doomed) or the prices of real estate, you will still have something of value. Of our 50 states, only four have a balanced budget (Alaska, Arkansas, Montana and N. Dakota), the rest are now spending more than their income. When their credit is no longer honored they’ll fail, the U.S. Congress is now considering to alter the bankruptcy laws and allow States to file for bankruptcy, just as individuals and businesses do. Our States are in the same mess that Greece, etc., in the European Union, are in. When states fail, they lay off government employees, which adds to the unemployment number, and either stop government services or raise taxes. I say your investment is sound.

People will always need a place to live…so should be good!!
Now…on the Darker side…this guy’s 38+ minute video, where he shows proof that the government
intends to create a very major national disaster, where it’s going to happen..the preparations now being made…the sad thing, from the evidence…he’s probably right!! It gets wearisome for a bit…but endure!! At least you can escape the fear mongering!! and,…be prepared..hopefully!

Just an observation, I feel that we will have a massive crash very soon due to reasons that are quite obvious to anyone who has the ability to see.

The class war has been going on for some time. Then toss in the new stuff war, {thats anyone who stuff you don’t} these people need not even be rich they just have stuff.
Now we also have the divide of race going full bore, blacks hate whites, whites hate blacks, Mexicans hate everyone, and everyone hates Mexicans, females hate males, males hate females, gays hate everyone who’s not gay, everyone who’s not gay hates gays.

The poor hate everyone, everyone hates the poor, the middle class is busy working to pay tax’s so the whole thing stays together all the while being the punching bag for the radical left and the radical right as well the POOR and the government and the wealthy.
So what could go wrong with this scenario?

    • eddie47d

America is changing but I hardly see the end of this country. The economy was doing too good for awhile and we got a false sense of security. Many facets of our economy were creating an illusion of never ending wealth;Such as housing prices and the stock market. What we are experiencing now is a long overdue correction. We need to accept a more stable growth without the wild swings. That does include tackling the debt problem. That means sacrifices all around and getting back to basics. If gold gives you security then go for it for we need more savers. If our education system is not doing it’s job then let’s get it back on track(math, science). We also put too much emphasis on our entertainment culture and end up loosing site of what is really important. Whether that is God or strong family values or a stable job. America will survive and this could only be a bump in the road.

I beleive you, BobbyB, to be a useful idiot. As your immature, incorrect, comment is easy to see and intrepet by those on the margins of rationality.

and for you “toomuchsense” you are labeling people with what you seem to be. Bobby has an opinion and it’s rooted in some facts while you show intolerance as you offer name calling and act like an immature child that can’t handle opposing views.

While Ronnie was much beloved by many Americans, it was under him tenure the back sliding of the middle class started, as wall street bankers, corporate raiders, junk bond kings and hostile take overs and sell-offs was unleashed on the American people, destroying many while a few did enjoyed gains.

Now I don’t expect someone like you to believe that but even so, I won’t call you an idiot, but someone that is being challenged in ways that not completely clear to you.

And you are right about one thing! Useful idiots do have a place in the scheme of things. Every political party has good use for a loyal butt-boy.

To separate a man from what he does or has done, is not any easy thing to do. More of us need to learn how. That we “choose” it look at Ronnie in a favorable light today is not a validation of any correctness in his policies.

I disagree about your comment that silver has no demand unless its within a monetary context. “When it’s not used as money, there’s very little demand for it.” Your forgetting that silver is a highly demanded metal used extensively in many industries: solar panel, electronic, medical ,etc. Plus Bob and many others have spammed this “Stansberry’s Investment Advisory” audio file too much. I’ve received countless emails(spam) with the same information about them.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Joe Smoe,
As China is now allowing its citizens to own silver and gold you can bet that silver will increase in price. The difference between it and gold is that about 80 to 90% of it has already been mined while gold hasn’t. This fact plus the fact that it is used in so many different areas, as well as the Chinese thing will force the price higher. Anyone would be hard pressed to get any of my silver right now. Its scarcity is well founded by the fact that the mint can’t keep up with demand for american eagle coins as they aren’t able to obtain the blanks of .999 silver.

  • Donald

If the “End of America” comes all this advice will be meaningless. Buy warm clothes and move to Canada.

    • JC

Things will be just the same in Canada, but colder.
If The Fed collapses so will all of the central banks.

  • home boy

you are correct in saying we are the worlds reserve currency. we got that right after ww2 by bailing every country out that participated in ww2. however that could go away tomorrow if other countries decide our money is worthless because of our spending habits. russia and chinia have already tried to trade in the yuan and the imf stopped the trade. but they will sooner than later break thru that wall and others will follow. so don’t bet the house on the U.S. addressing gold and silver read ezeikiel 7;19 to find out where gold and silver are headed. i’ll give my trust in GOD and not man. there is plenty of proof around on that subject to stay away from man’s ideas. that was the bible that i was suggesting you to read.

    • Richard Pawley

There is some truth in what you say but gold for money was God’s idea, not man’s. The gold in our earth was there when the planet was just a ball of whirling molten metal and gas a very long time ago, and before that the gold was part of gaseous stars from which it is believed the planets came to be. Using paper money in lieu of real money was and is man’s idea, first invented by the Chinese and they had such a bad time with it they outlawed by the time the bankers re-invented it 1694. So not having gold or silver is following mans way. Additionally, it is not money that is the root of all evil, but as Jesus said, “The LOVE OF money, is the root of all evil.” It is always wise to trust God but that doesn’t just mean the written word He gave His then chosen people thousands of years ago but also His word to you and me and all His people by whatever denomination or persuasion. The Bible says that “God is no respecter of persons” so anything He can say to me or another, He can say to you, if you have a relationship with Him and not just head knowledge. God gave Joseph the wisdom to interpret the Pharaoh’s dream and as a result the Egyptians had seven years to prepare for their hard times. I do not believe we have seven years more to prepare for ours. Remember, God feeds the birds of the air but He doesn’t drop worms into their nests.

    • Steve

I wonder if you are seeing that scripture correctly. Maybe that is for when the wrath of God is poured out on the earth. I think the Christians may be gone by then and this is after the rapture even if the rapture happens after some really hard time or some major tribulation.

    • Thinker

Regarding the passage in Ezekiel; you have to go back to the subject, as in chapter 3, or (again) God’s word is taken out of context. The subject is the distruction of “A REBELIOUS HOUSE OF ISRAEL”, not the elect, not followers, not the faithful. In this book, yes, the Lord intends to scatter their silver and gold, demolish their idols, even their children. Again, He is not referring to the faithful who have made preparations.
How can you even hope to help your neighbor in a time of crisis if you yourself are not prepared? Will you have any chance at all of helping to save the lost in the end times if you have no food to offer, no medical supplies, no silver to buy things you need to share with others?

  • Mary

I believe thAt all that is happening in the world is supposed to be . the world has turned away from the principals that it was founded on. We have have made man more important than God. He only takes so much ans bears so much hurt before we Are told that He will return and take out His people before the Battle of Armegadeon takes place and the Anti- Christ will take over for a period of time. You best get ready cause it is a heartbeat away from happening.

    • Richard Pawley

Actually Mary, a lot of things have to happen first (but they could happen faster than most believe). First there has be a world wide financial collapse that results in a one world money system. There is likely to be a third World War, and the temple has to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. These are all things that the Bible says must happen before the end of the end times. St. John, the only one of the 12 original apostles of Jesus to die a natural death (the author of the Book of Revelation), revealed that a comet or asteroid “something like a burning mountain will crash into the sea and kill one third of all the creatures in the sea”. This hasn’t happened yet but our scientists say it could happen at any time. The point is I don’t think God wants us to be ignorant of all that is coming before these times. It’s why I have encouraged people to learn all they can about survival foods and to learn about gardening and to buy those things they may need that will soon cost three times what they do now. It’s not the end of the world yet but it may seem like it. Of course it could be the end of the world for any of us at any time. Illegal aliens kill 25 Americans a day and I’d guess that many of them were not ready.

  • Jeremy Leochner

In terms of content I think Mr. Stansberry is right and reasonable. Investing in food and silver seem like very sound investment decisions. My only disagreement is with the labeling of such investment advice with the words “End of America”. I believe the use of such an inflammetory and frightening statment is both counterproductive and unnecessary. I feel its a radical statment to suggest the end of America. While I certainly know and recognize the terrible conditions of both our countries economy and the western world I personally dont see it as qualifying as a threat to the exsistence of the United States. I don’t believe Mr. Stansberry intended for such a reaction however I am simply stating I believe labels to a story matter. And if the purpose of the story is to give advice on investments, if such advice is given under the premise of surviving the end of America I don’t believe Mr. Stansberry will achieve his desired goals.

    • Pat R

      Jeremy:
If people knew what shape America was really in today, there would be riots everywhere. YES, America can fall at any moment. Don’t believe all the hog-wash that comes out of DC (owned by the IMF). There is no
MONEY to run this country. They can’t borrow any more Money.
What do you think will happen soon? Washington is going down!

      http://www.republicfortheunitedstates.org

      • Jeremy Leochner

Pat I know the terrible condition our country is in. However as Jon Stewart said “we live in hard times, not end times.” Our country survived the Great Depression, Two World Wars, and it even survived a Civil War where Hundreds of Thousands of Americans actually sought to divide the nation in two. I believe if our country could survive such calamities I feel certain it can survive what I’ve heard many call The Great Recession. If we are not carful our countries economy can become worse and unemployment and our deficit could rise. However unless we take no regard for our country and economy I do not see how economic issues can translate into matters of life and death for our country. Our country may be hungry but that dosen’t mean its starving. Our country may be thirsty, that dosen’t mean its dying of thirst. And our country may be suffering from economic hard times but that dosen’t mean its suffering from economic end times.

        • Richard Pawley

America has always been more of an idea than a place. It’s the United States that could well end as we have known it. The trashing of our dollar by the owners of the FED and the U.S. Congress who have spent so much that the result is going to be at least a tripling of prices for things we need like fuel and food will have a severe affect on the citizens of the United States. We depend on the kindness of foreigners now for a great deal of all we spend and now there is evidence that we don’t even have any gold left in the treasury that is ours. ( http://www.kitco.com/ind/willie/jan262011.html ) This may sound radical but I have followed Dr. Willie for a number of years and although I have heard this for years never from someone of his caliber. Additionally many think the end times will last for just a couple of years but that WILL BE THE END OF THE END TIMES. The end times themselves could last a thousand years. Many these days don’t believe in the Bible but even the code discovered in the Hebrew Bible indicates that the end times will begin in the decade that the code was discovered (about 20 years ago). Many atheists try to discredit the ‘code’ but it all deals with probability and as one of our senior code breakers at the Department of Defense has said (after analyzing the evidence of the ‘code’) that “whoever wrote the Bible was not bounded by time as we are.” We may not like the idea that the Bible is the written word of God or that He hid something in it that could not be discovered until the computer was invented (many traditional Jews and Christians don’t) but that doesn’t take away from what God has made available to mankind. As for the possibility of the United States breaking up into more than two countries, I cannot say. I hope not. I like the US but the biggest employer in Saginaw, Michigan, now is China and when you are in debt with no possible way of repaying that debt but inflating the money and raising taxes, and you still have two thirds of the administration that believes borrowing more and “investing” it (the new word for more spending) is going to help, well all bets are off. One Think Tank in Russia is convinced that the US will break up into five countries after the congress and the banks collapse the dollar and the economy. Like I said, I hope they are all wrong but I also wrote in THE LAST DAYS OF THE LATE GREAT UNITED STATES and the Great Famine that Followed, what is coming will make the Great Depression look like a walk in the park. Will everyone starve when there is no money and no jobs – probably not, but I suspect some will. The really hard times that are being caused by the wasteful spending on this administration, and the last one, and the one before that, are going to cause more inflation than any native born American has ever seen. No one can be absolutely sure how this will all play out but prices tripling and severe shortages are a given for all who know many of the facts.

          • Dan az

Richard thanks for the site,Now I can go to sleep knowing that the end is allot closer than I thought.Gee thanks!Looks like even the feds are going to have a problem with the Chinese becoming the new world order. I’ll bet they didn’t see that one coming. There is know doubt In my mind that the end is near as we know it,we are getting it from all sides and there will not be anything that any of us can do about it but try and live out the remainder of our lives to the best of our abilities.I would have to blame it on greed among other things but greed being the catalyst.I see know that its even bigger than anyone had anticipated until now.I hope everyone checks out that site to see the facts that go way beyond what we think is happening today.

          • JC

Dan, the interest alone on the the US debt to China will pay for them to build a Military that will rule the world…courtesy of the American taxpayer. And it’s all coming from a White House thoroughly controlled by forces external the the US.

          • JC

should read: external to the US.

I wonder if that could be the reason the government has fought so hard to keep anybody from auditing Ft. Knox? could you imagine the riots if everybody KNEW that the gold was GONE??? Then I think about nobummer and I know he would be HAPPY if riots were to happen so he could declare martial law! who can figure it???

  • chuckb

we have populations out of control, people are breeding themselves away from the table. some races are producing children without the ability to feed them. africa has been a problem for centuries and getting worse each year. we are allowing illegals to flood this country and they have left their own because of the inability to feed their families. this is producing a debt on our backs, our welfare system is over loaded and the result is our tax must be raised to furnish these people a living. we are now at a point our country is headed for the same kind of condition the illegals have fled from. the whole world is or will be facing this situation unless these populations are controlled. first off the countries producing the migration should be forced to sink or swim, it’s like a lifeboat how many are too many before the boat sinks. we either stop this immigration or we are finished, barry will have to find votes somewhere else. our economy will never come back under these circumstances. barry at this moment is allowing migration from somalia africa, haiti and some muslim nations. these are not skilled educated people and we certainly don’t need any muslims.

  • Allen

No wonder people hate America, chuckb, when they read your racist anti-muslim comments. Your comments exacerbate the divide between the haves and have-nots. We are all human beings of great worth in the eyes of God. Your country is supposed to be the most Christian nation on earth, but I can only read selfish self interest here and terror in case welfare or immigration should create a bit more equality and reduce homelessness and poverty – rather like the priest and Levite in the parable of the good Samaritan who didn’t want to know about the need of a desolate victim. The world’s problems cannot be solved without love and compassion, because without them hate and selfishness as root causes of all that is wrong in the world cannot be dealt with.

    • chuckb

      allen
i really don’t care how many people hate america, if that’s true and i’m sure there are many, so what! they don’t hate the handouts we make or the money we hand out. if they hate us so bad why do so many break the law by entering here illegally?

apparently you haven’t been to foreign countries, most of these poor countries are that way because they can’t stop having kids and they keep breeding and they keep starving. then the bleeding hearts send them more food and then they breed more and have more kids. take a trip to haiti, that’s a prime example. africa has this problem, remember ethiopia, we sent ships of food, we sent them seeds to plant, we sent them machinery and what did they do, they ate the seeds and sold the machinery. there’s hardly a country in africa that isn’t having a war of some kind, why? because they can’t feed the mass of people that have propagated.

now you want us to open our arms to those peaceful muslims, what a joke, i suppose you would want sharia law to be installed in this country too. this cultish religion is pure ignorance and trying to engulf the planet,”the poor mans religion” yes allen with your intellect we would all be poor and blowing each other up in the name of allah.

“The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates the 20 largest industrial nations (known as the G20) are on course to see their combined government debt exceed 100 percent of their combined gross domestic product (GDP) within three years”

    And POOF! Complete econimic collapse.
And it’s being done deliberately so that ‘they” can save us.
And achieve control like never before….

  • s c

There’s IRONY for you, folks. The frickin’ IMF sees it coming. Most economists who know the difference between up and down know what’s coming. But not Obummer, nor do any of his over-educated economists or his flunky stooges in Congress have a clue.
By the way, for the unenlightened, uninformed progressives in the audience, think of the IMF as an extension of the Fed (where nobody knows the difference between spam and shinola, and they don’t want to learn] but somehow they claim to know EVERYTHING).
