PUYALLUP, Wash., Aug. 26 (UPI) — Police have searched the house in Washington State where the husband of a missing Utah woman has been living with his father.
Investigators from West Valley City, Utah, spent about nine hours Thursday in the house in Puyallup near Tacoma, The (Salt Lake City) Deseret News reported.
Susan Cox Powell vanished in December. Her husband, Josh, named as a “person of interest” by police, said he had taken their two young sons on a short camping trip and she was gone when they returned.
Steve Powell told the newspaper police removed diaries and photos that would show an “inappropriate” relationship with his daughter-in-law. He said photos and videos would show she was a “willing participant.”
Chris Cox, Susan’s father, said he believes Steve Powell’s journals contain “fantasies.”
“The world is not that stupid,” Cox said. “They know a lie when they hear it.”
Steve Powell’s version of his relationship with Susan has split his own family. His daughter said her father made advances to Susan that she resisted.
