Here Comes The Gun Vote

It’s time for Republicans in Congress to prove their mettle as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he will force a vote on Thursday to open debate on new gun law.

Facing a coalition of conservative Senators led by Kentucky Republican Rand Paul who have vowed to filibuster new gun legislation, Reid would have to muster 60 votes to ensure conservatives can’t stymie consideration of the package based on proposals by President Barack Obama.

While it will likely be difficult for Democrats to ram through draconian gun legislation, the threat is heightened by alliances between those on the left and RINOs like Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.).
