Henry Kissinger Gets The Pat-Down At LaGuardia

NEW YORK, (UPI) — Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was submitted to a pat-down by security officials at New York’s LaGuardia airport, an observer said.

Kissinger, who served as secretary of state under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, was spotted being taken from the regular security line to the pat-down line by Transportation Security Administration agents, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

“He stood with his suit jacket off, and he was wearing suspenders. They gave him the full pat-down. None of the agents seemed to know who he was,” witness Matthew Cole said.

Cole said Kissinger, who will turn 89 this month, was in a wheelchair due to the long walk involved in security screening.
