Healthcare.gov Is Obamacare’s Best Feature

The public face of the Obamacare deathcare disaster right now is the government website that administers program sign-ups, Healthcare.gov.

If the government’s goal in establishing Healthcare.gov, as President Barack Obama has claimed, is to allow people to view available insurance plans and sign up for them through the website, then Healthcare.gov is a colossal failure. It’s the type of failure that, had it occurred in the private sector, would have resulted in the immediate firing of the company’s chief executive officer, the head of the department overseeing the project, the project’s director and most, if not all, of the people who contributed to the project in any supervisory way — and that is only if the company was able to survive the disastrous debut.

But government is not negatively affected by failure. In fact, there is a reward for failure in government. As Representative Steny Hoyer reminded Tuesday when asked how Congress could help improve the system, “We can give them a little money.” Never mind the hundreds of millions of dollars already dumped into the boondoggle.

And so it was for the crony firm tasked with developing the website, CGI Federal. The Canadian information technology firm entered the U.S. government contracting business after buying several American IT firms beginning in 2004. It was in the right place at the right time and got the contract despite a checkered past on similar projects; one of them, a Canadian healthcare registry for diabetes sufferers, performed so badly and CGI missed so many deadlines that the $46.2 million project was scrapped.

So apparently, government contractors aren’t affected by failure either, at least as long as they play the corporatist game and line the pockets of the Washington, D.C., criminal elected class, which CGI did to the tune of at least $800,000, according to Opensecrets.org.

And neither are government bureaucrats affected by failure. See Sebilius, Kathleen; Lerner, Lois; Holder, Eric; Boswell, Eric J.; Maxwell, Raymond; Clinton, Hillary; Napolitano, Janet, etc.

Insurance executives are warning that the Healthcare.gov website will lead to theft of private information and other forms of identity theft. And if fixes aren’t made properly, those trying to sign up can expect to see their bank accounts debited multiple times and they may still not be signed up for health insurance.

The user experience has been disastrous. ProPublica has been monitoring user feedback at Healthcare.gov/feedback and is finding that the site is misidentifying people, compromising their identities (or claiming their identities are compromised), requiring them to fill out the same information numerous times, blocking their access to their own accounts and costing insurance agents countless hours and dollars in lost time and clients.

But as bad as the Healthcare.gov rollout has been (and even Democrats are now admitting it has been a failure), Obamacare itself is actually much, much worse.

    • It restricts medical choices in myriad ways. Treatment options and payment schedules will be set by a group of unelected bureaucrats under the thumbs of Big Pharma, the medical industrial complex and Big Insurance. Holistic and naturopathic treatments are not part of the protocol. Doctors are leaving over the regulations and reduced payment schedules. Many more are being dropped by the crony insurance companies. (See below.) Most doctor examinations are being replaced by examinations by nurse practitioners.

    • Although its official name is the Affordable Healthcare Act, Obamacare is anything but affordable. The low-premium Bronze Plan has impossible-to-afford deductibles. The high-premium Gold Plan is unaffordable to most. According to a breakdown of premiums for each county done by The Market Ticker® the average unsubsidized premium for a 27-year-old will be $3,200 per year. For the average 50-year-old, individual premiums are about $5,434 per year. For a couple with children, the annual premium would be about $7,774. But smokers’ premiums are about twice that because of surcharges. You can see the unsubsidized premium for your county or parish here.

    • As is typical of government redistribution schemes, this one picks winners and losers. Losers are most Americans who will be paying a lot more for less care and fewer choices. The workers and the healthy will be subsidizing the poor, the nonworking and sickest. The text of the Obamacare calls for government “subsidies” up to 400 percent of the poverty line (about $94,000 for a family of four). But lawsuits are in the works that will deny subsidies to those 34 States that opted not to set up exchanges. Few, if any, will choose to pay the prices for unsubsidized premiums. According to government Consumer Price Index numbers, health insurance spending is .656 percent of the family budget. Under Obamacare, a family would have to make to $1.185 million annually for a premium of $7,774 to be .656 percent of their budget.

    • If the government pays for treatments, it can set treatment options. Already, the Food and Drug Administration is a fascist system that approves drug treatments will little or no independent research and it not only exempts Big Pharma from paying damages to people harmed by their drugs, it often uses taxpayer dollars to pay damages when courts mandate them. Once the government gets into the business of approving and mandating treatments, medical freedom is lost.

    • Many Obamacare supporters outside the Beltway believe that Obamacare is a better system than the previous government-regulated crony system because they disapproved of private businesses making decisions about which treatments they would pay for and how much they’d pay. But Obamacare is a fascist system written by insurance companies, Big Pharma and medical-industrial lobby to their benefit, not to the patients’ benefit.

    • Further evidence that Obamacare was written by the insurance companies can be seen in their rising stock prices since Obamacare’s passage. Obamacare is a boon to insurance companies who expect to see in increase in the number of customers and premium payments guaranteed by the Federal government.

    • Obamacare is hastening the collapse of U.S. economic system. America is currently selling U.S. bonds to itself in order to pay its bills and running up trillions of dollars in “debts” that will never be paid by anything of substance. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the cost of Obamacare at $2 trillion, but the law will increase the number of insured by only 40 million people at a cost of $50,000 each.

    • Obamacare is turning America into a part-time workforce. Hundreds of thousands of full-time jobs have been reduced to part time so businesses can avoid Obamacare mandates.

  • Obamacare’s premium structure penalizes married couples. It gives benefits more generously to unmarried couples who cohabit than it does to married couples. Cohabiting couples are 170 percent more likely to split up than married couples. Children from broken families are 82 percent more likely to live in poverty and are more likely to engage in high-risk behaviors like sexual activity and substance abuse and are more likely to exhibit anti-social behavior.

Or, to sum up, as I’ve told you numerous times, Obamacare is a deathcare trap of graft and corruption that advances medical tyranny and hastens the collapse of the U.S. economy… and that’s not even the worst of it.

$3,200/yr = ~$266 mo or in other words about the payment on a 4 year loan to buy a car. I.E. A car payment. (Assumes $10,000. No down, 4.88% interest. 48 mo) (http://autos.yahoo.com/car-finance/monthly-loan-calculator.html?rate=4.88)

So everyone stops buying cars and give that money to the government? Oh that is rich, then when the auto industry files for bankruptcy (many again) the people can bail them out. Accelerated death spiral for the economy that was already in a death spiral. Time to get those busy body government folks out of our lives. Maybe then the economy can be fixed.

Welcome to the Catch-22 of the Government is here to help out. Too big to fail? Well we’ll just have to take it over rather than let it go bankrupt!

Even though the government is bankrupt,….

As implementation of the President’s health care law
continues to run into problem after problem, it’s clear that this law
is simply unworkable. However, instead of repealing or delaying the law
entirely, the President is issuing special exemptions and favors for
            the politically connected and powerful.
            http://www.justexemptme.org/?rfid=1310-11165&em=n3angus@centurylink.net&l=2

From the very beginning President Obama said “if you like
your plan, you can keep it.” What he really meant was “if you like your
plan and you have powerful Washington connections, you can keep it.”
Sadly, the rest of America is stuck under the weight of this massive,
            devastating law.

The list of groups that want out from under the onerous burdens of the law continues to grow by the day.

            Congress and their staff

When ObamaCare was passed, Senator Chuck Grassley inserted
an amendment that required all members of Congress and their staff
members to purchase insurance from one of the new health insurance
exchanges. Senator Grassley argued that if these exchanges were good
enough for you and me, they were good enough for Congress.

However, like so many things with this law, that is easier
said than done. Staff members complained about the cost of buying
insurance since they’d lose their generous taxpayer-provided insurance.
Congressmen complained that they might lose good staff members who
didn’t want to be forced into these bureaucratic monstrosities. Instead
of fixing the glitches, President Obama and his administration simply
waived the problem away. Now, all members of Congress and staff members
have an ObamaCare exception that no other American has.

            Labor Unions

Labor Unions supported ObamaCare from the very beginning
becoming important cheerleaders for the administration. But as we get
closer to the January 1 roll-out, union leaders are realizing just how
bad ObamaCare is for their members. In July, Presidents of the
Teamsters, UNITE-HERE and United Food and Commercial Workers sent House
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid a
scathing letter detailing many of the problems Americans face with this
law. The law will “destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week”
and confirms that many employers are cutting employees’ hours.

            Employers

According to ObamaCare, all employers with more than 50
full-time employees must provide health insurance coverage or face a
$2,000 per employee fine. This unprecedented mandate imposes incredible
costs on business across America that will continue to grow with the
cost of health insurance. Large employers focused their attention on
the Obama administration begging for a concession and they got it. Over
the Fourth of July holiday, the Obama administration secretly
announced that the employer mandate—but not the individual
            mandate—would be delayed until 2015.

            State of Massachusetts

Massachusetts is the blueprint for ObamaCare, or so we were
told. Again and again, supporters said to look at the success of
reforms in Massachusetts, ObamaCare simply instituted those nationwide.
But now, even Democrats in the Bay State are demanding waivers from
ObamaCare. ObamaCare will have an “adverse effect” on insurance in
Massachusetts requiring immediate action. Even the ObamaCare-supporting
Boston Globe is warning of the “one-size-fits-all” approach. If the
so-called reforms are unworkable in Massachusetts, where will they
            work?

Restaurants in Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s district

This trend isn’t new. When ObamaCare was in its infancy,
the Obama administration began handing out waivers to employers for
various other provisions of the law. In early 2011, the administration
issued waiver after waiver to politically connected businesses. In
April of 2011, almost 20 percent of the waivers issued were for
restaurants and hip nightclubs in former-Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s
            district.

If you’re well-connected and know how to work the system
you can get a waiver or delay from the damage this law which is about
to inflict on our economy and our health care.

But what about us? As average citizens we’re about
to feel the full brunt of the law. Sign the petition and urge Congress
and the President to: Exempt Me Too!

          • Motov

This “lemon” needs to be removed, plain and simple.
Based on the fact the salesman lied.
What needs to be done is to remove ACA 100 %.
If you want real reform, Talk to those in the medical field,
            Doctors,..nurses,..technicians,… get their ideas.
Do not allow Drug companies, Insurance companies, and their lobbyists to dictate what they want.
But most of all no more of this crap about voting for something into law without finding out what is in it.

If you are a Lawyer tell me if I am off on this but
this is why I think we did not hear from the so called Moderates on Obamacare
in favor of Dr. Coburns healthcare bill , because the establishment RINOs are
lawyers and people who stand to benefit from the ACCESS Obama care will given

            SENATE FLOOR ?????

Is it because these same so called Moderates are also Lawyers and
others that stand to benefit from the ACCESS the Obamacare program creates for
them to DEFRAUD the Taxpayers ??????

            This proves the
point because ……You see , the Reid Ran Senator has NEVER
ALLOWED THIS BILL TO COME TO THE SENATE FLOOR … EVER !!!!! And it makes way
more sense than the ACA !!!!!

I am a Parkinson’s Disease patient, I am legally disabled.
I take 10 pills daily to deal with my symptoms.
My medications wear off in 5 minutes flat meaning I go from feeling somewhat normal to a person with very nasty tremors, with freezing up problems. When I take my meds, I have to wait 45 minutes to become stable enough to do any task, and even then I move rather slow and I sometimes have to deal with the side effects of the medications, known as dyskinesia. (Best description I can give is I appear as if I drank large quantities of booze, minus the slurred speech, and the “buzz”) I can be rather klutzy. There is no cure for this. So the only job I am qualified for is to be a “Lab Rat” for this disease. I am currently looking for clinical trials in my area. I have no license to drive. Mainly because I cannot afford it.
I ride a bicycle daily to combat this disease.
I was diagnosed on January 16, 2003. Took 2 years to get on disability. It is impossible for me to hold down a job, because I cannot stand for long periods of time.
Now Obozo wants me on his ACA. I simply cannot afford it. Believe me I wish I can work, but I cannot give an honest day’s work and/or Employers are too afraid of me when I am “off”.

Hey we need the system for you guys that are plagued with the pain and suffering of disease , we just need better ways to screen obviously !!

          • Motov

            I totally agree,
Like maybe observe these claims when they are out in public. If you see someone with “back problems” outside lifting heavy objects, or going about his business without showing signs of pain, it is time to check into it and see what is going on.

          • Karolyn

Reminds me of that guy that knocked over the million year old goblin rock who has a disability claim filed for an accident he was in.

          • Motov

SSD did “check up” on me, they erroneously thought I was getting better, I sent them a letter telling them about PD being incurable, and it is a progressive disease. But I still had to go to my neurologist and have her fill out paperwork of what I could or could not do and she stated the same thing I did. Like hello, this is permanent.

One thing you need to remember is that Canada, England and Mass have it and their people are not in the streets screaming for it to go away! The polls of THOSE PEOPLE are quite favorable to their system!

Can we disconnect DC and float them out to the center of the Atlantic so they can rule themselves. Obummercare is killing America. The affordable care act in NOT affordable!!! It is depending on the young and affluent to support the poor and lazy. Unless it is repealed it WILL bankrupt the poor and make the rich richer. But then just maybe all those that are that are forced to part time jobs or forced out of work altogether can depend on the few left with jobs for their support!!! Already 11 states have more “dependents” than working folks. Yep finally understand it!!! We will all be supported by the government, no one will have to work. Each of our congress persons draw over 1 million for their staff and offices plus over 174,000 in “salary” and benefits, AND want NO part of Obummercare that THEY made law for the rest of us!!! They NEED to take the same medicine. MAYBE just maybe if enough people got together we could force them to work for minimum wage and live under Obummercare, and all the other laws they create. Then they just might understand how the rest of us survive, but I really doubt that, they just are too disconnected!!

In my time, I’ve witnessed some really ugly and horrifying governing by some very major morons in the White House and Congress. Yes, I saw LBJ at work and OMG what an evil moron he was. Then there was Jimmy Carter. The ONLY thing one can say about Jimmy is that at least he was a God Fearing Christian and he loved America. After that, Jimmy was as horrifically bad at governing than even FDR or Wilson was. But now, we have evil incarnate in the Oval Office. Yes, he is a satan among us and every single legislator in D.C. are running on complete fear of him. He and his ugly evil gang of thugs WANT single payer and they will destroy the entire country and all of her citizens to get their way. Those petulant evil spoiled brats are not being stopped and WHY?

Ha! Ha! NC, you’ve been slapped down so many times on the bogus “Bulls, Bears, Donkeys and Elephants” canard that now you resort to shouting, as if you can win arguments by decibel level.

Denial is indeed bad, my sophomoric fool.

OK, one more time. The idiotic contention on that statistical “analysis” is based on a number of faulty assumptions, and leaves out more relevant factors than it actually uses. It is a classic case of lying with statistics, intended to sway simple minds like yours into believing the propaganda without question.

        Here are the faulty assumptions:

It assumes that the president has magical powers to wave a wand and thereby affect the stock market. He has not. A myriad of factors affect the stock market in a capitalist economy, which are beyond the capacity of a president to affect. In the government-managed economy YOU would like to see, the chief executive would have much greater powers to effect change. Currently he has not.

It assumes that changes in economic direction due to administration policies have immediate or short term effects on the stock market. They do not. The economy is grindingly slow in responding to policy changes by the government. Thus, Clinton rode on the successes of Reaganomics, which brought us the longest sustained period of business prosperity in US history.

It tries to convey the glaringly false assumption that the health of the stock market is a barometer of the nation’s economic health in general. It is not. By your reckoning, the rebound of the markets under Obama would point to a booming period of prosperity. How’s that working for you? Tell your tale to the unemployed, the record numbers of those on food stamps and welfare recipients.

It goes wildly wrong in discarding one of the most important factors, the party which is dominant in Congress. Your “statistics” would “prove” something quite different than you assert if that influence were taken into account.

I know the above is difficult for you to understand. Get a dictionary, a tutor and psychological help to move beyond your one-dimensional “true believer” mind. Perhaps you might take a course in basic macroeconomics before you shoot your mouth off and once again look the idiot. You are fooling no one with a normal intelligence

With all due respect; I live in Mass. My husband is employed by his own corporation. We are in a pool of small businesses and we pay $1200 a MONTH for a premium with a $6000 deductible for a family of 4. Neighborhood Health…Terrible plan but the one we could best afford. Used to have Harvard pilgrim; in 2001 the plan cost us $600 per month. In 2006; same plan (when “romneycare) went into effect here in MASS) we paid $1200 for that same plan. In 2010 the cost of that plan a MONTH wa s$1700 and we couldn’t afford it; when the economy fell apart. That plan today? $2200. Mandated care DOES NOT make care more affordable.

      • mark

Actually, Mr. Livingston has provided a large section at the end of his article explaining the problems with Disqus and how PLD is working with them to correct the glitches. Sound a lot like the Affordable Care Act problems to me. Both will no doubt be solved in short order.

If DISQUS had as many glitches we wouldn’t even be here posting comments. I repeat, “that’s called “prevarication,” Mr. Propaganda.”

          • mark

Your phrasing of Obama Care websites as “an absolute debacle” is also an exaggeration, Vigilant

          • Hey you

            Yeah; it’s worse than that.

          • shawnfahrer

It is (as we enter the first month of activity on healthcare.gov) more than an “absolute debacle”– it is:
            1) A means by which more and more Americans are having insurance coverage shifted from the private sector (due to the Obamacare mandates for coverage types) to the public sector (AKA Medicaid). It is no secret NOW that vast majorities of people enrolling at healthcare.gov are being found eligible for Medicaid (is it through true poverty, the increases in acceptable maximum income, or failure to properly state family income, i.e., FRAUD– that is leading to this somewhat surprising result?)
            2) That’s only for those who have been able to apply: what about the MILLIONS AND MILLIONS who may wish to apply but CAN’T GET THROUGH???? Many of these people maybe among those whose coverage has been cancelled (I assume effective Jan 1, 2014, although no one has said so) — thus one reason for the increasing clamor to DELAY the fines for non-participation along with
            3) Double digit percentage increases in premium costs for those forced to switch to an exchange based plan (and are ineligible for Medicaid and/or subsidies). While most of these people may be richer than you or I, many of them may be squeezed even more than those who are poorer (since the government would pay those increases for them). That may not necessarily be “fair” under any circumstance.
            4) If this doesn’t qualify as an “absolute debacle”, based on the above points, it appears to qualify as at least “a debacle”, if not an absolute debacle…..

          • JeffH

V, did you really think mark, mark, mark, wouldn’t make that comparison? Of course not. :)

Sure, I think we all know DISQUS has sucked at times…but it works and I’m quite sure Bob Livingston didn’t spend $600 million plus of taxpayer dollars and three years to set up DISQUS…and the best part is that there is no government mandates or fines and no one is forced to use DISQUS at PLD.

It’s all about free choice…something that ignorant progressives like mark, mark, mark do not embrace and know nothing about.

          • shawnfahrer

I don’t think Mr. Livingston has any connections to DISQUS (other than as the creator of this comment section). DISQUS has far more blogs that it has set up than the one on personalliberty.com — DISQUS is more like godaddy.com that sets up a website than Bob’s personal intellectual property…. DISQUS set it up for him — he does not own or set up DISQUS. See their “about” page for more at http://www.disqus.com/about/. While I agree with the last part of the comment (no one is forced, etc.), I’m just pointing out that Bob has no control over DISQUS (nor they over him, other than they are contractually obligated to set up the comment area in an acceptable manner). Just FYI….

          • JeffH

Thanks but non-sequitur. Basically my comment was about government force and government waste vs private(PLD) free market choice(DISQUS) as opposed to mark, mark, mark’s deluded comment.

        • Don 2

Nothing like the Un-Affordable Care Act at all, unlike Obamacare, PLD is voluntary and free.

    • ProfElwood

The Disqus system is allowing all comments, but not attributing a few to the right person. That’s a real “glitch”.

Healthcare.gov is unable to perform its most basic functions for all but a few people. That’s called a “crash”. The degree of failure makes a big difference.

Also, there’s some very real consequences to that site’s failure, being as several million people need to be signed up by April (previously February, before the administration “clarified” an extra 6 weeks) or the entire scheme collapses. If they don’t sucker, er, convince enough young and healthy people to sign up, then the whole insurance scheme crumbles.

…. which might be a good thing ;)

    • Bill

      Mark,
You seem to be adding your comments just fine. Where are you seeing any glitches in the Disqus system?

    • WTS/JAY

The only difference being, mark, is that there are actually people signed up on PLD, and ZERO people signed up on the HealthCare.gov website…LOL!

  • KG

The failure of the website started when the so-called ‘Public Option” was taken off the table. By going along with the Republicans on their point, the seeds of discontent were sown. The Republicans wanted to prevent another Democratic Victory like Medicare and did their utmost to ensure an embarrassment.

Contractors only want two kinds of contracts – Government contracts and BIG Government contracts. Just ask the morally-challenged management of Haliburton.

    • red neck

While the republicans are nothing but a dog-n-phony show your continuous reference to their failures while you applaud the democrats shows that you are totally uneducated…. The single payer was and is the plan all along, even the republicans want it.

      • KG

Yes, because THAT is the only way it will work! We ‘Liberals’ have been telling you dopes that since Roosevelt!

The real goal is Medicare for all.

        • Vigilant

Correction: the real goal is slavery for all.

          • KG

What’s the goal of Religious Right/Republican/Libertarian/Nazis like your self? I would say since the roots of the Right in America are firmly in the camp of people who wish to do away with Collective Bargaining, Public Education, Access to healthcare for all Americans, and institute a Militaristic Theocracy that enslaves the lesser peoples of a society purely based on economic levels of achievement is actually closer to ‘Slavery’ than Liberal ideals of Equality, Fraternity, and Liberty.

          • Vigilant

Interesting you should choose the words of the French Revolution, KG. We all know how that turned out.

Liberty? The very LAST thing you and your communist fellow travelers would keep alive.

Equality? That’s code for forcing equal outcomes in lieu of equal opportunity, a formula for economic disaster..

Fraternity? Don’t make me laugh. Multiculturalism as perceived by you lefties, forced upon a sovereign nation that has always accepted all comers, results in a bitter and factioned body politic.

It all adds up in the communist book to one thing: TYRANNY.

          • KG

I figured something ‘french’ would really tick you off!

“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.” – Thomas Paine

What kind of ‘support’ would you suggest for protecting Americas freedoms – besides saving cans of tuna fish and hoarding guns and ammunition?

It’s actually people like YOU who want ‘something for nothing’. You claim to be Patriots and , yet you seem to relish in the thought of Americas failure. Why is that?

          • Vigilant

“…yet you seem to relish in [sic] the thought of Americas [sic] failure.”

Only a propagandist of the worst sort could distort the heartfelt feelings of patriotism into some base desire for the death of one’s country.

            Here’s what I relish, KG:

I relish the thought of the demise of the progressivism that has turned the Constitution on its head and perverted the ideals of the Founders.

I relish the emancipation of all Americans from the slavery of socialism.

I relish the ideals of individual sovereignty, the natural rights of life, liberty and property that have been ground underfoot by collectivists such as yourself.

I relish the idea that Americans are waking up to the deceitful and underhanded excesses of the political and financial brokers who would sell all of us down the river (including you as well, KG) for the sake of personal power.

America has not failed, KG. She’s MUCH more than a place on the map. She’s the ideal that took the world by storm in 1776 and again in 1787.

It is I who mourn the attempted killing of those ideals and you who relish her demise.

          • KG

I didn’t know [sic] people like you had a heart.

Progressivism, or in reality, Practical Christianity, is nothing more than the struggle to have a general prosperity for all Citizens willing to work for it. It is the recognition of the charge that we are all our ‘…brother’s keepers.” That as Americans that are blessed with Freedom, we must strive towards “…a more perfect Union,” That by “…promoting the General Welfare…” of our citizens, we make a better world for all. Our marching orders come from Christ:

            Matthew 5:3-11
            King James Version (KJV)
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

            3. Conservatives represent undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.

            4. Conservatives represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates.

            5. Conservatives represent vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.

            6. Conservatives represent responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.

            7. Conservatives represent man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all.

            8. Conservatives represent all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.

            9. Conservatives has been the best friend the Satanists has ever had, as they have kept Satan in business all these years!

You have it all backwards. The ‘socialist elite’ do not exist in America except as identified by the reactionary forces of the right wing religious Nationalist Libertarian Nazis. With Republicanism somebody is going to get something and usually it’s at the cost of the most vulnerable of our civilization. To sit back and wish that someday the peon you are today may be a wolf is utter foolishness.

What you call the ‘grinding down’ of America is nothing more than acknowledging that Marx was right in his assessment of Capitalist civilizations. The Capitalists claim the ‘moral’ high ground even though they are the actual perpetrator of societies ills.

Our epoch, the epoch of the bourgeoisie, possesses, however, this distinct feature: it has simplified class antagonisms. Society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps, into two great classes directly facing each other — Bourgeoisie and Proletariat.

Have you lost your mind Karl? The public option has absolutely nothing to do with the web site failure. The “public option” was never even part of the equation. Had it been, are you naive enough to aver that an additonal set of circumstances would have made the software “easier” to develop?
You are right (in a way) regarding the kind of contracts that most large companies prefer, which in turn proves the error of your philosophy. Of course large companies want large government contracts simply because the government is “easy money” with little emphasis on quality, support or customer service. In short, the bureaucracy can never manage anything economically.

    • Frank Kahn

Actually, the failure of the website (internet software) is the result of incompetence by the software engineering team. In modern software development we use coding to testing methodology. This means that you create the test criteria first, then you write code that passes the criteria. Every section is modular (it stands on its own), and processes a defined set of data, to produce a specific set of information. In object oriented design, this is highly adaptive to different types of data, but is still easily contained and controlled. If the software engineering team had properly researched, and defined the development requirements, the process of building and testing the final product would have been efficient and effective. In fact, adding, or subtracting, a particular module / aspect of the product would not significantly affect the overall performance of the whole, nor would it have caused a failure of other modules.

By the time I was a sophomore, in software engineering, I would have received an F for project design for any number of the outrageous errors in the design and coding of this project. And, in fact, my capstone project, required to complete my degree, was an internet based health care service application. It contained much of the same technology and data sharing requirements, from remote servers, as this obamacare system. It took our team of 6, 3 months from the original request for service statement to implementation. It was not perfect, but it did operate properly, within the design specifications given. Now, while I am not saying that our project was as complex as obamacare, I am saying that the final product was designed and tested to operate in real time in a real life situation. It is what is expected of a software engineering team. That is where the problem lies, with the PPACA website, it did not meet the expected performance criteria.

  • red neck

Sorry to say at best we have a con in the White House, at worst we have a person bent on the destruction of the beliefs that our forefathers fought for along with many of our relatives sense. For many peoples from other countries that are here they should remember that if they cam to America for a change I would think that the last thing they would want is to change America into what they cam from. Maybe we should take how our country is run seriously, you say you have, well evidently those that see it differently are more determined and dedicated to destroy us than we as a group are to save us. If you do not want a Hitler style government, to harsh, look at the laws that the Chancellor Hitler enacted and started under then explain it to me. This may be politically incorrect but I would say that most Political correctness violates my personal freedoms and beliefs in God.

“On September 16, 1992, Black Wednesday, Soros’ fund sold short more than $10 billion in pounds, profiting from the UK government’s reluctance to either raise its interest rates to levels comparable to those of other European Exchange Rate Mechanism countries or to float its currency.

“Finally, the UK withdrew from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, devaluing the pound, earning Soros an estimated $1.1 billion. He was dubbed “the man who broke the Bank of England”. In 1997, the UK Treasury estimated the cost of Black Wednesday at £3.4 billion.” (Wikipedia)

Soros has been controlling the progressive/socialistic narrative for years through his funding of so many organizations whose objectives are consistent with those of Soros himself. His flagship foundation is the Open Society Institute.

JeffH… And how different is your Soros comment from the Tea Party and the Norquist Pledge totally controlling the majority of the GOP? We can both be right about this but it is just to what extend we are each right. We have major problems pure and simple anyway we choose to believe.

        • Jana

Obviously mac you know nothing about the TEA Party. Just like Whittaker Chambers used to say, “Communism succeeds because most people who promote it are NOT communists, they are just the useful idiots as Lenin called them which gives them an air of legitimacy it would never have had it been identified as communism.”

The TEA Party are just a group of grass roots people that want to get back to smaller Government and they have fought Socialism and Communism and they see how this country is sliding down a slippery slope towards Communism.
Communism is the final phase of Socialism.

          • macgyver1948

Jana… LOL… Of course it is “obviously” I do not know anything about the Tea Party because Jana cannot be wrong. LOL. So typical.

With Whittaker Chambers’ quote “Communism succeeds because most people who promit it are NOT communists, they are just the useful idiots as Lenin called them which gives them an air of legitimacy it
would never have have had it been identified as communism” as you offer there is much truth but the Tea Party is not to correct and rightful source to defend or to prove anything with it. The Tea is
doing the same thing but with something other than communism that you may not like either.

I am not concerned with the grass roots of Tea but their leaders and financiers and starters at the top. I believe the grass-roots members of Tea are just as duped by Tea leaders as Lenin called his subjects
            within Whittaker Chambers’ quote.

You really do need to learn about and research those at the top of the group you plan on aligning yourself with before you join so you will really know if you have the same agendas. Going only by what they tell you, to gain your support, is not as know-worthy as it is in
            their real actions and agendas.

Do your own research unless you are afraid to find out if you might be wrong about Tea and your choices.

          • Jana

Well give us proof! You make blatant allegations without any proof and we are supposed to believe it because you said so?
You are the one who needs to do a little research.
It’s funny. Of course it is always EVERYONE is wrong but YOU as usual. Hmmm. Maybe you need to go look in the mirror.

          • macgyver1948

Jana…. No, No, No. You do not have to believe anything I say. You have that choice just like you have the choice to believe whatever you choose to believe, religiously or politically. I am not here to recruit,
convert or change people’s mind. I am here to learn about others and exchange ideas, to share mine.

So are you saying you will NOT do that research? That too is ok but there may be things you will not know until you do. I am not right all the time, I never profess to be. I get told off here on this kind of conservative site so often because people do not like what I say, as if I do not have the right to my views and opinions, whether they refuse to find out for themselves or not. I do not need you or anyone else to agree with me but when name calling and insults come my way
because of it after a while I tend to say things back. When I am talked to as though only they can be right that gets funny to me.

For so long I have been doing loads of research and I read Conservative sites as well as Democratic and Liberal articles. I agree some times with the Conservatives but not often. I want to know what the people in power are really like and not just take their word for it and that includes Liberals. There are things Obama has done as President I will never agree with.

So my “allegations” about the Tea Party are not made lightly or without research. I know the Norquist Pledge has over 270 GOPers in Congress voting only how they are told to vote and push for (as with the damaging TPGOP Government Shutdown) and I see that as well as hearing Norquist saying they will do what they are told. He said that of Romney when he was running for president and a lot more. I do not
make these things up but, again, I do not need you to believe me so I ask that you do your own research.

Life is what it is and we need to see what the leaders of who we consider joining are really about what they claim and not just take their word for it. I would guess so many who have joined Tea would not if they
knew the predecessor of Tea and their related leaders were against Civil Rights in the 1960s, not very Christian of them, and that they were so totally for the benefit and protection of Big business. The Koch Brothers dad, Fred, was big in it with them and he passed that on to his sons who very much helped start Tea and have control in the GOP. Look for it, find out for yourself, and do not just call me a liar without finding out first. What have you got to lose if I am
            wrong?

There are more and more GOP in Congress wanting to get out of the Norquist Pledge but they cannot without major hazards to their careers. Look
that up too, maybe to the end of their careers.

Enjoy your week whatever you do… I just do not feel you would accept any “proof” if it first comes for a Liberal and now especially from me so that is why I say do your own research. I will send you more if you ask after you do your own homework but in the end we all have to decide what we want to believe. I choose what makes the most sense to me.

        • JeffH

mac48, Not even close on either point! You obviously didn’t go to the link I left and obviously don’t have a clue about who Georege Soros is.

Now run off and get a real life education instead of using the usual liberal/progressive talking points.

          • macgyver1948

JeffH … Why am I so wrong? Could it be because you refuse to find out if you are wrong? What are you afraid of? I think Tea does not want you or their other followers, or potential followers, to research them
and their predecessors. The real power behind Tea is the problem but if I am wrong they wont care if you research them but they do care. Find out unless you are too scared to see if you could be wrong.

At this point I will not give you links but rather ask you to do your own extensive research because I feel you will not believe my research. But I will later if you are not willing to risk being wrong through your own efforts. Just ask then after you give yourself enough time to do your own.

You sound just like Jana and others in their refusals to find out… Using the US Constitution is a great way to recruit American grass-roots people, it would get me to look at them, but it can be deceptive.

          • JeffH

mac48, lack of proof and your progressive leftist talking points and your opinion, is why you are wrong. You’re being dishonest with yourself…which is your primary error and I do hope it’s not intentional.

In short mac48, there’s nothing you can offer short of proof…and your opinions and conjecture ain’t remotely close.

You know what they say about opinions? They’re like arse holes…everybody’s got one.

          • Don 2

macgyver, I am one who is scared to see if I could be wrong about the TEA, so I would really appreciate it if you would help me out and provide me with all your scary research on them?

          • macgyver1948

Don 2… You cannot allow fear to be your master. For some reason I feel a trap here but try this and then do your own. Will I regret showing you, and any others who are as “scared” as you to do your own home work?

Don 2, before you try this, maybe to trap me in something because you too might not want to believe
something against your belief system, think about what you should find on your own. You might just believe what you find on your own more than what I can show you.

          • macgyver1948

Jana… Just remember it is what can be presented on the Internet by either side of the Aisle. I have so many articles going back a long time from both sides and even words to the effect that Norquist said George H Bush’s loss on his second run for President would act as a warning to those who will raise taxes. That so easily can be one of the things Norquist uses to remind people who sign his pledge what would happen if they violate his pledge. The Sr Bush ran on the campaign slogan “READ MY LIPS, NO NEW TAXES” (he did shout it at us) to win the first time. Then very soon after entering the office of President he raised taxes because he felt it was needed. Need is no excuse for raising taxes to people such as Norquist and he owns over 270 GOP and others in Congress with the Pledge he had them sign.

          • Don 2

Actually macgyver, you are partially correct. Although, not a trap, I was curious to see where you get your anti-TEA party propaganda from. Your referencing unknown journal, mother jones, and whatever that bing collection was supposed to be, speaks volumes regarding the nonsense you constantly spew, to the extent that even you express your own fear that you will regret showing me and others, where your material comes from.

Unintended consequences: I do have to agree with old father Fred’s 1963 speech warning “a takeover of America in which Communists would infiltrate the highest offices of government in the U.S. until the president is a Communist, unknown to the rest of us.” Little did Fred know how right he was.
            AGENDA: Grinding America Down
            http://vimeo.com/63749370

Koch was also quite correct when he called Obama Cokehead-in-Chief!

          • macgyver1948

Don 2… There are so many which is why I always suggest you guys do your own research. You offer Koch words “he called Obama Cokehead-in-Chief!”. Hitler used insults to describe his enemies too. How many so-called “respectable” businessmen and politicians experimented with drugs when they were younger? No, I am not looking for an exact number, or any number, but I am just making a point. Do you think only the very religious and the likable famous people are innocent of that? The Koch Klan would say anything against those who would not totally support their industries and especially if those people tried to stop some of their projects even it those projects
would harm the environment and us. Also, the Koch Klan spent millions on anti-other energy-industries advertising even if there was potential in those technologies.

We need alternative energies developed but they want oil and coal, perhaps natural gas too – whatever the Koch Klan can control and increase their bottoms lines and influence on Government, to last them forever so they can stay the greedy wealthy SOBs they are. They
also want to sit on the side lines and control the government for the sake and benefit of the big corporations but we aren’t suppose to know that – people such as Norquist too.

I also remember the fake oil embargos of the 1970’s where tankers were loaded with oil but the shortages were only at the gas stations. I remember sitting in long gas station lines, extending for blocks from the gas stations, in those days for long periods of time. Who do you think controlled that and for what reasons? I say it was so the Oil industries could get the price of gas at the pumps from the low price before the embargos to how it is now and so it could get worse. The oil Industry was hugely wealthy and successful before the embargos, with low at-the-pump prices, but it wasn’t good enough for them.

This video you offer at http://vimeo.com/63749370
is interesting at best but there is a whole lot of Right made-up propaganda in it. For example, where they say most people on the Left are working toward and wanting Communism is pure BS. Most on the Left
I know, I met and spoke with so many over the past few decades, want America how it is supposed to be, with the Constitutional liberties equally for all as the Founders fought for. You cannot get recruits from the Left to join you on your side with lies about us like that
and there are so many lies coming out of the Right about us and Obama.

“Why would the Left be pushing their Socialistic agenda on us?” A quote from your video. This is not only pure BS, with its huge crazy implication, but, again, we do not want what your guys at their top want you to believe of us. This video, with some truth to it as Satan used (some truth) to push his agendas, is no more than what Hitler and the Japanese used during WW2 against us and their other enemies.

Fred Koch, the daddy of the notorious Koch Brothers, had major business dealings with and inside Russia as an engineer until there were disagreements. He may justify those differences as only political but while he was making loads of money with them they for buddies. Fred Koch is no dummy, he knew what the Commies and their revolution were about before he got into bed with them for the big bucks. Look that
            up too.

          • Jana

            macgyver,

Thank you for taking the time to share with me what you did. I did take the time to study and I do mean study what you gave me. I did NOT take this lightly, I also prayed about this a lot.

            Here is what I found.

As far as the KKK infiltrating the TEA Party, you are a Jew, surely you realize how the Kenites infiltrated the Levitical Priests and in some cases even took over till their were actually no Levitical Priests to be found in certain areas. This is what the KKK was trying to do in North Carolina. They wanted to contaminate the TEA Party by mimicking their name and destroying their credentials. Does this mean they are KKK any time you see a Confederate Flag carrying person at a TEA Party meeting? I don’t know I guess the best thing to do is make them aware that this their agenda so they will start confronting them and if they are they will throw them out. Does this mean all TEA Party members are KKK? NO! Of course not.

It is nothing for Satan to infiltrate and imitate anything good. This is his job, to infiltrate, to pollute and pervert. They even infiltrate your Synagogues and our Churches. It is up to all of us to be wise enough to learn their tactics, catch them then to stop them.

Before seeing this article I wouldn’t have thought anything about it, but I will now. Just like the Veterans didn’t know to ask the guy carrying the Confederate Flag standing next to them when they were in Washington, D.C. recently because when you are innocent of the very idea of being evil, you don’t think evil thoughts and don’t suspect others of it either.

This thing about the Koch Brothers had floored me at first. Wow. They sure seemed to have a very bad background, till I got to studying about them.

The more I studied the more I realized that the two families were quite divided. The Nazi family lived in Germany and Poland and worked for Hitler and did atrocious things for him during the war. The other family lived in the United States.

Charles and David’s family whose father was Fred, whose father Hotze “Harry” Koch (/ˈkɒx/; 22 October 1867 – 21 June 1942) was a Dutch-born American businessman who founded the Quanah Tribune-Chief
newspaper in Texas. He was the father of Fred C.
Koch (1900–1967), founder of Koch Industries.

The next part is very interesting and well worth reading here, as this is where they intertwine with Nazi Germany.

During his time in the Soviet Union, Fred Koch came to despise communism and Josef Stalin’s regime “a land of hunger, misery and terror”. (very important to note here!)

            Fred Chase Koch

            ….(September
23, 1900 – November 17, 1967) chemical engineer and founded the TEXACO oil refinery firm that later became Koch Industries (Chevron). Koch and its customers were sued for patent infringement, process for turning
crude oil into gasoline. Litigation effectively put Winkler-Koch out of business in the U.S. for several years. Koch turned his focus to foreign markets,
including the Soviet Union and NAZI GERMANY, reportedly with the help of ERICH KOCH.

(This is a repeat as it is important)

During his time in the Soviet Union, Fred Koch
came to despise communism and Josef Stalin’s regime “a land of hunger, misery and terror”. (very important to note here!)

Fred C.Koch married Mary Robinson in Kansas
            City, Missouri in 1932. They had four sons, Frederick (b. 1933), Charles (b. 1935), David (b. 1940) and William (b. 1940).
His sons are Charles de Ganahl Koch and David H. Koch.

The closest I can come to relationship with Erich is a cousin.

My great, great grandfather was a very wild mean
Sherriff not too far from here about 100 years ago. They said there was none that was any meaner than he was. He was bad! It sure would be a shame if they
assigned me with his meanness and the bad things that he did, just because I am related to him.

          • macgyver1948

Jana… Thank you for your return… We can find many things supporting and denouncing different groups and agendas on the Internet. In all of history there were many groups trying to infiltrate other groups. For
example, The Romans sent in spies to infiltrate the Hebrew insurgents, the Israeli rebels, saying they wanted to convert to Judaism. Soon the Rebels realized what was going on and it stopped working which is one ancient reason we Jews do not go out to
proselytize or recruit to our religion. It happens.

I bet the KKK knows they might have more acceptance and credibility from real Christians in Tea if they become Tea. You might remember so many KKK were Democrats before the 1950s but because they couldn’t take control of the Democratic Party, convince the Dems to vote their ways, so many of them jump the Left ship and became Republicans. KKK does look for similarities in agendas as do Neo-Nazis who have very
similar agendas to KKK. Take a look at this site for a comparison and maybe you will see what I mean by similar agendas; there you will find a comparing chart that might interest you. http://www.seanbond.me/goptea-nazi-germany/
. Take it with a grain of salt because I saw a lot more in the past before I became convinced. As an American who loves Liberty and Freedom, and as a Jew, Tea does scare me as does the KKK and Nazis and Communism and Talibanisms.

Oh, by the way, I do not automatically think bad guy(s) when I see a Confederate Flag. I bet there are some Arabs who think “bad guy” if they saw the Mezuzah on my door posts so I do the Golden Rule thing until I know what is behind that flag. I do not assume the
worst. I lived in North Carolina for 7 ½ years, two different cities. I had several good ‘ol folk as friends and they have Confederate flags. Yep, Satan is the ultimate bad guy, :-).

Jana, I am not asking you to hate Tea just because I say so. You have to figure that out for yourself which is why I tell people to do their own research and never listen to what the other side says.

I know there are two branches of the Koch family. There has to be since one group came here. But I also know Fred Koch’s history with the John Birch Society and they fought hard against Civil Rights as well
as his own actions. The Koch Brothers, the famous 2 are not the only sons of Fred, are close fallen apples of that tree. There are so many same DNA in Tea and JBS and although Tea tried to distance themselves
because of the history they still touch. Again I refer you to that chart at the site I suggest to you above to see the similar bigotries and other things.

You then go on with “During his time in the Soviet Union, Fred Koch came to despise communism and Josef Stalin’s regime “a land of hunger, misery and terror”. (very important to note here!)”. Yes, I mentioned that to you and others on here. He did seem happy enough being with the Soviets for a long enough time before he had a falling out with them. Try this oif you have time and see if you might think
Fred enjoyed doing business with the Soviets or not at some point –
            http://democurmudgeon.blogspot.com/2013/07/john-birch-societys-fred-koch-made.html
. I mentioned before, being as intelligent as Fred Koch is, he had to know the history of the Soviet Revolution in 1917 and what Stalin were about before he bedded down with them. I am curious as to what went on that we are not so informed for that break. I have histories on the American Koch branch as well as for Erich (here is one –

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_Koch ). This too is interesting about Charles and David and it all ties in
            to Fred –
            http://www.irehr.org/issue-areas/tea-party-nationalism/tea-party-news-and-analysis/item/308-are-there-hitler-era-nazis-in-the-koch-family-closet
            .

This site is interesting in many ways but it is hard to come to very specific conclusions when it comes to Fred himself, and overtly, definitely being into Nazism but the site ends it track on the history with “The fact that Fred C. Koch did not found the Birch Society, and was not related to or did business with the Hitler-era Nazi Kochs, does not subtract from the tremendous amount of harm that he did in his time, and that David and Charles have done in ours. It does not help, however, to fight the Kochs with misinformation. The truth is strong enough by itself”. There
is a lot of interesting stuff before it gets to that last paragraph.

It would be a shame if your Sheriff great, great grandfather’s meanness was assigned to you, at least in my view. You have to establish your own meanness, or not, to be fair to you. I do not associate that way.
I try to find the truth and I do that by reading all sides, Right and Left in the sense of politics and religion. I do not always succeed. I try not to judge before I know something but I see so much smoke in the Koch Klan and there were fires in the news over the years on the Fred branch down through David and Charles. We each have to decide for ourselves how we want to believe but that is done best after we look for it on all sides.

Jana, to that I will leave you with just the first two paragraphs of something I wrote yesterday and am getting published if I am lucky. To each his/her own faith and beliefs (that goes for religion as well
as politics). I offered you a lot to read here and in the links so I hope you both want to as well as find the time to go through it all.

“I believe we each accept and believe what makes the most sense to us but however we act on our beliefs is our choice. Responsible and moral people know where to draw the line before they start violence.

I believe the greatest and most successful Domestic enemy/threat to Americanism, and our Constitutional Liberties, is the one who can hide their true agendas and identity and convince us he is all about and for what we want in our government and from our Constitution – and for us and our Liberties. He is one who is convincing in getting us to believe his enemies must be our enemies as well whether they are or not”.

          • Jana

macgyver, I am a realist. I realize that no one as big as the Koch Brothers and their organizations are Lilly white, or don’t have some type of mud on their hands. I will look at those sites that you recommend.
Where I got ALL of the information from that I wrote to you about, was the sites that you gave me.
I agree with most of your last two paragraphs by the way. Obama fooled many people about his agenda. Some are waking up, but too many have not.

          • macgyver1948

Janna… See, you agree as you say, you take Obama as you choose to. Most of us, on both sides, do.

I am a realist too but I still have faith.

          • Jana

Don 2 I did a long hard study on 2 of the things macgyver gave us. I couldn’t look at the movie as my computer won’t let me, it is acting up so I won’t tempt the old girl.:) Any way, This is my take on what I found. If you looked it up and found anything different I would be interested.

Here it is: (Keep in mind macgyver is a Jew, ergo I used this analogy)

As far as the KKK infiltrating the TEA Party, you are a Jew, surely you realize how the Kenites infiltrated the Levitical Priests and in some cases even took over till their were actually no Levitical Priests to be found in certain areas. This is what the KKK was trying to do in North Carolina. They wanted to contaminate the TEA Party by mimicking their name and destroying their credentials. Does this mean they are KKK any time you see a Confederate Flag carrying person at a TEA Party
meeting? I don’t know I guess the best thing to do is make them aware that this their agenda so they will start confronting them and if they are they will throw them out. Does this mean all TEA Party members are KKK? NO of course not!

Charles and David’s family whose father was Fred, whose father Hotze “Harry” Koch (/ˈkɒx/; 22 October 1867 – 21 June 1942) was a Dutch-born American businessman who founded the Quanah Tribune-Chief
newspaper. He was the father of Fred C.Koch (1900–1967), founder of Koch Industries.

            ….(September 23, 1900 – November 17, 1967) chemical engineer and founded the TEXACO
oil refinery firm that later became Koch Industries (Chevron). Koch and its customers were sued for patent infringement, process for turning crude oil into gasoline. Litigation effectively put Winkler-Koch out of
business in the U.S.for several years. Koch turned his focus to foreign markets, including the Soviet Union and NAZI GERMANY, reportedly with the help of ERICH KOCH.
—-This is a repeat as it is so important—-

During his time in the Soviet Union, Fred Koch
came to despise communism and Josef Stalin’s regime “a land of hunger, misery and terror”. (very important to note here!)

Fred C.Koch married Mary Robinson in Kansas
City, Missouri in 1932. They had four sons, Frederick (b. 1933), Charles (b.1935), David (b.

What’s wrong with nurse practitioners? They are as good, if not better, than doctors (especially a lot of doctors).

    • Brandt4Prez

Ya…. who needs doctors when we have nurses.

Matter of fact, we should get Russel Brandt to run Obamacare.

      You blubbering idiot.

      • Karolyn

And you certainly seem like a rude uncouth person who’s ready to attack somebody before he even knows what he’s talking about. Nurse Practitioners are not very far from being doctors and have Masters Degrees. Did you not know that? http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-nurse-practitioner.htm Even RNs are better than some doctors. If it weren’t for them, there would be a lot more doctor errors.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

Nothing would be wrong with them, if they were a matter of voluntary choice. You know, Karolyn, “Choice”, that which you Liberals Progressives always speak of, but don’t allow.

          • Karolyn

I’m just sticking up for nurse practitioners, Dave. Nowhere did I say anything about choices. Please don’t read more into my posts than exist,s and please do not continue to label me a liberal progressive. I am not a fan of ACA and am glad I don’t have to deal with it.

DaveH: “Karolyn, “Choice”, that which you Liberals Progressives always speak of, but don’t allow.”

Dave, you are 50% right, but 50% wrong.
“Liberals Progressives” are preserving the right for the “Choice”, but that is just for themselves.

        • Nadzieja Batki

We don’t have enough doctors and we don’t have enough nurses. What you are going to get is doctors and nurses from overseas. And guess what, they don’t have the same value system on life as Americans have because of their Judeo/Christian beliefs. Their training is also not up to par with American Medical and Nursing Schools. So make sure you have all your legal work/wills up to date.

          • Vigilant

That’s another reason to stop Obamacare. Better decide which side of the fence you’re on, nc.

Oh, so now if someone is not a Christian or comes from another country, they cannot be a good nurse? From what I have heard from a friend who has experience with nurses, Filipinos are especially dedicated.
The school I attend has a huge nursing program that is always filled. It is one of the areas that many young women (and older women) are turning to.

          • Motov

I see an increasing number male nurses as of late

          • Karolyn

The ratio is still pretty low for men, but I would imagine since there is less stigma for male nurses than there used to be, it would be more attractive for men to pursue a nursing career. At my school there are very few males in the nursing program.

    • ProfElwood

I certainly see nothing wrong with choices. If I personally trust doctors more, I can pay more for one. If I trust the nurse, I’m allowed to use a nurse. Why not?

      • Don 2

And if you don’t trust either one of them, you’re free to use a plumber for what ails you.

    • Vigilant

I agree 100%, and would trust a nurse over a doctor for most ailments.

      • Hey you

Traditionally, women have been the givers of health related treatments. Men have only recently in the past few hundreds of years, taken over to change medical treatments into big business.

I first started April 2005 and was the third patient in the new section, up on the 7th floor.
And yes I have gotten lost there on a few occasions.
They do have MRI proof that I have a brain, They had me “gambling” while they watched what was going on inside my head. This machine is not for those who fear tight spaces. Last time I was there was January of 2011 where I was on an over glorified treadmill machine, lol complete with harness, and a computer screen that would make a gamer envious. They had cameras all around the the treadmill, which was double wide, and computer controlled to automatically go whatever pace I set it to go. The graphics sucked on the program, I’ve seen better on DOS games like Heretic and ROTT.
The nurses there are gold, I quickly discovered the doctors there have no sense of humor, I had 2 T-shirts special made.
They were black with white lettering

I had them made for going through the airport, Made pre boarding flights easy, AND the TSA did not give me the extra groping, like they always did before I wore them.
When one of the doctors saw it he ordered me to take it off, The nurses said “no”,..They thought it was funny.
It was there I learned Phlebotomy workers are the best in sticking people.

      • Nadzieja Batki

I wouldn’t. If I am sick I don’t want a longwinded emotional twaddley sympathy. I would rather have a calculated cold prognosis and a cure.

        • Vigilant

You may get your “calculated cold prognosis” from a doctor but, unless you get super lucky, you won’t get a cure. What you will get is a prescription for synthetic drugs that cause more toxicity and long range debilitating effects than if you let the ailment alone in the first place.

          • Motov

            Two words for cancer

            Caesium Chloride

Caesium chloride is widely used in isopycnic centrifugation for separating various types of DNA. It is a reagent in analytical chemistry, where it is used to identify ions by the color and morphology of the precipitate. When enriched in radioisotopes, such as 137CsCl or 131CsCl, caesium chloride is used in nuclear medicine applications such as treatment of cancer and diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Another form of cancer treatment was studied using conventional non-radioactive CsCl. Whereas conventional caesium chloride has a rather low toxicity to humans and animals,

        • Karolyn

And what makes you think you get “longwinded emotional twaddley sympathy” from a nurse? Doctors don’t cure.

      • Don 2

Does that include the new version of the nurse practitioner, who receives his/her degree on-line? Public school students are not the only ones being dumbed-down these days.

Time… Very interesting Video from Paul but just to interject. Moses, as with all Hebrew Prophets, got all his info from God and not on his own. The renamed “Five Books Of Moses”, Torah, were not written by Moses
but comes from God. It is all in Torah, which comes from God and is
so very much alive today. If we are going to quote or paraphrase
Moses, or any of the Hebrew Prophets, we should know the real source
of their prophecies’ words or we are really denying God His due.
Other than that we are believing what we choose to believe from our
      chosen religions.

      • Jana

Of course we know that God actually authored all of the Torah and the Bible, but he used human hands to do it.

Obamacare will cause millions of Americans to lose their health insurance…

Much of the attention lately concerning Obamacare has been focused on the complete failure of the government website to operate as promised, a failure that has prevented virtually everyone who has thus far tried from actually signing up through it. But according to House Speaker John Boehner, a much bigger and more serious problem is Obamacare itself, which he predicts will eventually result in more Americans losing their existing healthcare coverage than the number that will eventually sign up for the program, assuming the website ever actually becomes operational.

During a recent press conference, Boehner tried to refocus the national conversation on Obamacare to the legislation itself, rather than the broken website, reminding the public that the legislation’s full enactment will be disastrous for the millions of Americans who currently have healthcare coverage that does not qualify under Obamacare’s terms. For these folks, Obamacare will result in them losing their existing coverage, which means they will be forced to either sign up on their state’s healthcare exchange for more expensive coverage or else pay the so-called “tax” for non-compliance.

A recent Kaiser Health News report confirms Boehner’s predictions, explaining that hundreds of thousands of working Americans have already received notices from their employers that their insurers are canceling their policies. According to the report, some 300,000 previously insured individuals under Florida Blue and 160,000 under Kaiser Permanente in California have lost their coverage — and millions more people are set to lose their coverage in the coming months.

“When you begin to look at these hundreds of thousands of people, I think what you’re going to see at the end of October are more Americans are going to lose their health insurance than are going to sign up at these exchanges,” explained Boehner to reporters. “This is a very serious problem, it’s affecting our economy, and it’s affecting the ability of the American people to find the jobs that will help them take care of themselves and their families.”

Obamacare will eliminate freedom of choice in healthcare, including within the natural health communityThough a Republican, Boehner’s statements are actually non-partisan in terms of how they are playing out in reality. Hundreds of thousands of people are, indeed, losing their existing healthcare coverage as a result of Obamacare, and many of these people will be forced to purchase more expensive coverage. And many uninsured individuals, including those in the natural health community who may not even use conventional medicine because they adhere to natural, nutrition-based preventive medicine instead, will be forced to sign up for an expensive healthcare plan that will directly contradict their core beliefs about health.

Remember the Good Old Days when we could just write the doctor a check and be done with it? In 1972, my wife had a Caesarian delivery for $400 out the door. We wrote a check and it was over.

What has 1972 have to do with Caesarian sections? It is a surgical procedure and there is no guarantees. Or did someone somewhere guarantee you life without worries or troubles and they didn’t deliver on their “promise”.

Just pointing out the fact that Medicine has gotten a lot better as well as more expensive since then. There are less women dying from Caesarians today than in 1972.

New, Improved Obamacare Program Released On 35 Floppy Disks…

Responding to widespread criticism regarding its health care website, the federal government today unveiled its new, improved Obamacare program, which allows Americans to purchase health insurance after installing a software bundle contained on 35 floppy disks.

“I have heard the complaints about the existing website, and I can assure you that with this revised system, finding the right health care option for you and your family is as easy as loading 35 floppy disks sequentially into your disk drive and following the onscreen prompts,” President Obama told reporters this morning, explaining that the nearly three dozen 3.5-inch diskettes contain all the data needed for individuals to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace, while noting that the updated Obamacare software is mouse-compatible and requires a 386 Pentium processor with at least 8 MB of system RAM to function properly.

“Just fire up MS-DOS, enter ‘A:>dir *.exe’ into the command line, and then follow the instructions to install the Obamacare batch files—it should only take four or five hours at the most.

You can press F1 for help if you run into any problems. And be sure your monitor’s screen resolution is at 320 x 200 or it might not display properly.”

Obama added that the federal government hopes to have a six–CD-ROM version of the program available by 2016……ROFLMAO!!!!!

NBC CROWNS NEW ‘LAUGHINGSTOCK OF AMERICA’. ‘SNL’ ridicules Obama’s health chief for website failure (MUST WATCH!!!)

Actress Kate McKinnon lampoons HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” Oct. 26, 2013.

NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” program ridiculed Barack Obama’s health secretary in its opening segment last night, leading one Republican senator on Sunday to label Kathleen Sebelius as the “laughingstock of America.”

Comedic actress Kate McKinnon portrayed the embattled Sebelius, who was trying to alleviate concerns over the crashing and “sucking” of the website where citizens are encouraged to sign up for Obamacare.

“If our website still isn’t loading properly, we’re probably just overloaded with traffic,” she explained. “Millions of Americans are visiting HealthCare.gov, which is great news. Unfortunately, the site was only designed to handle six users at a time.”

Dems to DOJ: We should probably ask for a refund from HealthCare.Gov’s contractors…

Certain Democrats have been putting on a good show of bullishness about ObamaCare and its upcoming impact on next year’s midterms; Debbie Wasserman Schultz recently appeared confident that “Democrats will run on the Affordable Care Act and win,” while Howard Dean insisted that ObamaCare will be the reason that Democrats in fact “pick up seats in the House” over the weekend.

…They might want to tell that to these guys, though…

Five House Democrats are asking the Obama administration to seek a refund from the companies that built the ObamaCare website, which has so far failed to work for most people trying to sign up for health insurance.

“It is no secret that the website has not performed in a satisfactory manner,” wrote Reps. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.), William Enyart (D-Ill.), Pete Gallego (D-Texas) Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Filemon Vela (D-Texas).

“As a result, we ask that you review the contracts and determine whether CGI Federal and/or any other company involved in the construction of the website has violated the terms of its agreement or is in constructive breach of the contract.”

The House Dems’ request to “seek to hold contractors accountable for their unsatisfactory work” was made in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder last week, but was just released today — and it certainly doesn’t help the perception that a growing number of Democrats are, to quote MSNBC, “freaking out” about ObamaCare on multiple fronts.

As Rep. Henry Waxman so aptly demonstrated last week, heaping the blame on the private-sector contractors is a neat way to avoid dumping too heavily on the Obama administration while assuring upset constituents that you’re concerned with both government accountability and the efficient use of taxpayer dollars.

At their House hearing last week, however, the contractors placed the majority of the blame for the botched ObamaCare rollout squarely on the shoulders of the Obama administration — and I think we’ll all be interested to hear what Sebelius has to say about that one at her own hearing this week.

Why the Obamacare Website Became the Biggest I.T. Disaster in History

The New York Times, of all venues, http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/13/us/politics/from-the-start-signs-of-trouble-at-health-portal.html?hp&_r=1&pagewanted=all& has an excellent analysis of why the signup website for Obamacare turned out to be the greatest IT disaster in history. The bottom line is that politics intervened.

Opponents of Obamacare often view with astonishment that the purveyors of the website had three years to get it ready and still failed.

In fact, it looks like they had less than a year to design and build the system, because of a political decision on the part of the Obama administration not to issue rules concerning the Affordable Care Act until after the 2012 elections. It was afraid of giving the Republicans ammunition.

This means that the crucial design stage for the signup system likely did not even start until after the beginning of 2013. Coding did not actually start until the spring of 2013. Changes were being made on the fly as late as September.

It did not help matters that the Obama administration seemed to be incapable of managing such a large project involving dozens of private contractors. Nor did it listen to the innumerable warnings that the system was headed for disaster.

The Obama administration is attempting to fix the software on the fly while the deadline for signing up for Obamacare draws relentlessly closer with people still physically incapable of complying with the law.

This sets up a nightmare situation in which tens of millions of Americans will have a fine assessed to them due to no fault of their own.

Furthermore, with few people if any actually able to sign up, the fiscal integrity of the system is questionable at best.

The Obama administration may yet accomplish something that Ted Cruz has not yet been able to do. It has instituted an Obamacare system that might just manage to defund itself.

It’s a remarkable state of affairs which tends to buttress the idea that big government is inherently dysfunctional and inefficient.

Hilarious photo reveals ‘labor dispute’ that caused the Obamacare website disaster… http://twitchy.com/2013/10/25/hilarious-photo-reveals-labor-dispute-that-caused-the-obamacare-website-disaster/

    • macgyver1948

Not too Right-Winded at that site, LOL… If that “funny” photo is, to the Right, a “more plausible explanation for the failure of the Obamacare launch than the slithering tentacles of the Kochtopus and GOP
“robot callers.” Then again, if Little Labor was involved, the rollout might have been more successful” then we could show a Photo of the Koch Brothers in Nazi uniforms but that would be more realistic than placing a rat in the computer tower to jam up the works. It was simply technical quiches that caused it. Or was it Right wing sabotage?

      • Robert Messmer

Glitches? Sure in the manner that it was only a small glitch that caused the sinking of the Titanic.

  • WTS/JAY

It turns out the Obamacare website disaster is the Republicans’ fault.
    -Carol Brown

Well that didn’t take long, i’ve got to hand it to them. The left has some creative thinkers on their team. A problem arises and, well, let me see……Oh, yeah! That’s right. It’s the GOP’s fault! (Oh well, at least they didn’t blame Bush.)

Here are the Cliff Notes from Breitbart:

An unnamed Obama administration official claimed that the White House feared GOP subpoenas would slow their work on the Obamacare website, leading to keeping its design in-house with “trusted campaign tech experts” that seemed to have spectacularly failed at creating a successful commercewebsite. (snip)

“Facing such intense opposition from congressional Republicans,” Politico wrote, “the administration was in a bunker mentality as it built the enrollment system, one former administration official said. Officials feared that if they called on outsiders to help with the technical details of how to runa commerce website, those companies could be subpoenaed by Hill Republicans, the former aide said. So the task fell to trusted campaign tech experts.”

So for those who had no idea we are the reason the Obamacare website is such a complete, total, and utter disaster, now you know! The White House was scared of us (evil terrorists that we are) and so they had no choice (victims such as they are) but to ask some IT guys who worked on the campaign to create the Obamacare website…

Btw, the obamacare.gov website disaster was not only outsourced to Canada, it was built by Michelle Obama’s former College Classmate’s Firm.

In mid-October, the Washington Examiner reported that Federal Officials only considered one firm to build the epic fail now known as healthcare.gov. When that story broke, you had to suspect that someone probably had a kickback coming.

Richard Pollock reported on October 13th:

Federal officials considered only one firm to design the Obamacare health insurance exchange website that has performed abysmally since its Oct. 1 debut.

Rather than open the contracting process to a competitive public solicitation with multiple bidders, officials in the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid accepted a sole bidder, CGI Federal, the U.S. subsidiary of a Canadian company with an uneven record of IT pricing and contract performance.

CMS officials are tight-lipped about why CGI was chosen or how it happened. They also refuse to say if other firms competed with CGI, or if there was ever a public solicitation for building Healthcare.gov, the backbone of Obamacare’s problem-plagued web portal.

Why was Canada’s CGI firm in Montreal chosen for the job and how did this happen? Is it because a certain First Lady had an inside track with that company? That surely has to be a coincidence, right? Wrong! A college classmate of Michelle Obama just happens to be a high ranking executive at CGI…

Actually, so many of the current faults in the new health care system are technical and, as with many huge software systems, there are technical problems all to often when first released. But it seems The Right enjoys blaming it on the Health System itself, what ts offers, as they would do to anything with the Obama label.

      • Robert Messmer

They had 3 and 1/2 years to build and test the system. The fact that it failed so dismally isn’t the result of “technical problems” but a demonstration that the site is fundamentally flawed to the point of having never been beta tested before being released.

        • macgyver1948

Robert Messmer… I cannot explain it when they had 3 ½ years or more. I know I would be in loads of trouble if I published a system, large or small, and it had loads of bugs. I delayed a new system a couple of times, something the execs do not like, when the tests showed they weren’t ready to go live. Yes, the guy on the top, or the lady as in this case, is responsible. The execs will not take blame, LOL.

Beta tests were invented for very realistic and important reasons but they must be used and analyzed and reused until… As a retired IT Project manager and business analyst I am embarrassed for them.

Here is the paragraph that was deleted from the original story.

“None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet the requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date– the deductible, co-pay or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered.”

Ah yes, they are at it again!!!. so many will suffer, so many severely
and irreversibly, but the Koch Klan and their buddies do not care
just so they get what they want.

Here is another email I received today to that effect. The Koch-like
apathy toward those who are not in their corporate or affluence
league grows like an uncontrollable wild-fire.

Understand this reality. For so many who are on Social Security a simple cut of only $5 to $10 a month in what so many receive in Social Security
could mean eating 1 or less than one meal a day. It, at the very
least, makes them struggle more so needlessly.

As for Medicare. So many on it may have to avoid going to the doctor
when they need to because cuts to that could mean they have to pay
more and that you may not be able to afford so they wont go to the
docs but instead learn to suck it up, whatever is ailing them. We all
will become them in time if we live long enough. Talk about some
CONSERVATIVE, as well as GREEDY-Affluent, APATHY!!!

Anything to cut their expenses at the expenses of others, especially others so much in need and deserving.

    888

    Here is that email:

    Dear Steve,

    They’re at it again.

Billionaires like the Koch Brothers, Pete Peterson, Stanley Druckenmiller and
others are leading the charge to cut Social Security, Medicare and
    Medicaid.

If they succeed, millions of senior citizens, working families, disabled
veterans and children will suffer. We must not allow that to happen.

Today, the middle class is disappearing, real unemployment is extremely
high, poverty is increasing and working families throughout the
country are struggling to keep their heads above water economically.
Meanwhile, the gap between the very rich and everyone else is growing
wider and wider and the wealthiest people and the largest
    corporations are doing phenomenally well.

We must not balance the budget on the backs of working families, the
elderly, the children, the sick and the poor.

As Vermont’s senator, I have the honor of serving on the Budget
Conference Committee which will be negotiating a new federal budget
over the next few months — and where I am fearful that a deal could
be struck to slash Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits.

As the founder of the Defending Social Security Caucus, please stand
with me, our friends at Social Security Works and our coalition
partners in demanding; “No grand bargain in exchange for cuts to
Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits.”

Let’s be clear. Despite right-wing rhetoric:

Social Security is not going broke. According to the Social Security
Administration, Social Security has a surplus today of $2.8 trillion
and can pay out every benefit owed to every eligible person for the
    next 20 years.

Social Security has not contributed to the deficit. Social Security is
funded independently by FICA taxes which are paid by workers and
    their employers.

The so-called chained-CPI, which recalculates how COLA’s are formulated,
is not a “modest tweak.” If the chained CPI went into effect today, a senior aged 65 would receive $658 a year less in Social Security benefits when he/she is 75, and $1,100 a year less at age 85. Further, the average disabled veteran would lose tens of thousands of dollars in benefits over his/her lifetime.

Please stand with me today and demand that Congress and the President oppose any grand bargain which cuts Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
    benefits.

When one out of four U.S. corporations pay nothing in federal income
taxes; when Bush’s tax breaks for the rich remain in place for many
wealthy Americans; when the U.S. spends almost as much as the rest of
the world combined on defense, there are much fairer and economically
sound ways to address the budget than cutting programs desperately
needed by the most vulnerable people in our country.

Please stand with me and Campaign for America’s Future in protecting the
future of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits.

Let’s go forward together. Thanks for your continued support.

    Sincerely,

    U.S.
    Senator Bernie Sanders

    • Robert Messmer

Typical class warfare rhetoric of the Democrats. Show us a poor Democrat Senator.

Letter states,”When one out of four U.S. corporations pay nothing in federal income taxes; when Bush’s tax breaks for the rich remain in place for many wealthy Americans; when the U.S. spends almost as much as the rest of the world combined on defense, there are much fairer and economically sound ways to address the budget than cutting programs desperately needed by the most vulnerable people in our country.” Is Mr. Sanders not aware of the fact that we are 5 years plus of Obama’s regime? If indeed 1 of 4 US corporations pay no income tax, (and he is not counting those corporations who make no profit or even those that fail completely) then that is the fault of Obama for not changing the law. If Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy are still in place then they are only there because Obama wants them there.

But yes there are a lot of places to cut fat out of the budget–starting with Congressional and Presidential salaries and perks. NPR and NEA are two organizations that should be cut loosed completely. Perhaps had the President’s office submitted budgets for the last five years sequestration could have been avoided, but he was too busy giving guns to Mexican Drug Cartels, allowing Ambassadors to be slaughtered, arming international terrorists, preventing States from defending themselves from an illegal invasion, and trying to start WWIII.

      • macgyver1948

Robert Messmer… You begin with “Typical class warfare rhetoric of the Democrats. Show us a poor Democrat Senator”. Robert, so often I refer to Congress people as being very wealthy, including Democrats. For this indecent and damaging TPGOP Government Shutdown I often stated ion my writings that the TPGOP will not suffer because many of
them are wealthy but even as the Democrats sat through it all and allowed it to last as long as it did they too did not suffer for the same wealthy reasons while the partial Government Shutdown was smoldering.

I believe what Mr. Sanders knows how long Obama has been in office but his words ring so much more true than you seem to realize. Big Corporations hire what they hope are very brilliant people to help them pay lower taxes as well as to lower all expenses, including payroll. They also petition their GOP to help in that too if their GOP would like those big campaign contributions to keep coming. The little bush tax break for his wealthy buddies was billed as temporary and it should have expired when it was supposed to help our ailing economy. But the greedy working-for-the-corporations GOP, especially
those over 270 GOP in Congress, who signed their voting rights away to the Norquist Pledge did what they were told to do by fighting the expiration. We, the unwealthy, need the tax rates for the wealthiest to return to their before the bush help levels. I am not as sure as you seem to be that Obama wants them to remain the advantage for the wealthy at our expense.

Is there class warfare? I think there is and it is of the GOP for the very wealthy. That is my opinion but I am nowhere near alone in that.

I see it in how the Koch Klan does its thing with their huge money. I see it in how Conflict-of-interest pledges, especially the Norquist, are choking us with its control over the GOP. Huge money in Government is the common thread and the Founders warned us about the evils of the corporate/Government official connection when there are
price tags on the backs of our Reps, elected and hired. That
connection is killing us. Just different points of view.

I love these quotes and they must have had crystal balls because the Founders seem to be still talking about today:

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin said this.

“I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied
corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.” – Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson got it right when in 1802 he wrote, “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property—until their children wake up homeless in the continent their fathers conquered.”

The second two just fit what we are discussing. The first one from Benjamin Franklin is just a reminder how we cannot allow any in Government to weaken the Constitution. It is our Constitution for “We The People”, it is not there for the protection of the Government, never was.

I want to add something about the Norquist Pledge. The incentive is if they sign, and it is expected of the GOP, they will receive loads of money, the will win primaries and they will win the generals. If they violate their oath to the pledge they will be turned to toast. That is a very close paraphrasing of what Norquist says of his pledge. Once they sign there is a fear to not do as they are told or to violate but there are more and more Republicans saying they want out. I guess conscience is getting to those.

I agree with you that there is loads of waste in government and there are many places that should be cut. I also feel agencies such as the FDA and IRS and even EPA should be looked at but we need the real protections that hose agencies were intended when they were started. Social Security and Medicare should not lose any payouts, not even a very few dollars a month, to recipients or they may find themselves
hungry and, for some, homeless and without a reason to go to the doctor when they need to. There is a lot to evaluate in government and the special very expensive benefits we pay for so Congress can live without worry (retirement and medical, for example) is a sweet place to start. I agree with you there too.

        • Robert Messmer

Part of the problem is that you seem to still subscribe to the notion that there is any difference between the mainstream Democratic party and mainstream Republican party. There isn’t, they all golf together, used the same taxpayer furnished gym, the same barber shop –hell they even get elected from one party and then after arriving in DC change party affiliation. And it is the same as to funding, both parties are funded by big corporations–sometimes the same corporations contributing to both parties at the same time.

That is such a nice quote from Jefferson in 1802, too bad it is bogus. I have seen it before and had checked a couple of sites and they both said it wasn’t his. Here is a link to another site with the same result

          http://www.markturner.net/2008/10/01/tracing-the-bogus-thomas-jefferson-bank-quote/

          • macgyver1948

Robert Messmer… No Robert, that is not my problem but thank you for telling me considering you do not know me. That is so typical of your side, you think you have to tell others what they really know and believe. Did God give you that special ability or are you only human with normal human abilities?

I have known for a long time there are so many similarities between the two major parties, the differences are in the degree in how they operate for the Corporations. The Tea Party owned GOP does as they are told through pledges such as the Norquist Pledge so we who aren’t affluent lose. The Dems are also in it to please the big money, they too need that money to run a campaign, but they are less so openly
            against us.

Life is not as tragic as the Conservative Teas would have us believe. I have known that since the begining of Tea and it is getting worse with them the more they lose. Take a look at this site although I believe you will discount it – http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/10/30/1251603/-The-teabagger-core-argument-Takers-makers-and-the-violent-end-of-democracy?detail=email
            .

I believe if they feel they have lost too many times, either with harmful events such as their failed Government Shutdown or at the
polls, in their desperations they might go ballistic and get violent. Notice I said “might go ballistic” and not “will go ballistic” and that is because I do not determine “What other people really believe and feel and accept” as you guys do. I hope they do not. The Dems will keep it peaceful and hopefully as simple as possible.
That is just the basic differences I see but they are so alike in many ways. The cameras and behind the scenes they do “play golf”, as you suggest, together or even share friendly moments.

It is interesting that you, a proponent of those on the Right who want to benefit and protect the Corporation images pretty exclusively (along with their bottom lines, at our expense, find those who will support their side. We know from history the real Patriot Boston Tea
Parties of 230 or so years ago, not of the phonies of today, were about the tax not going to the places they were meant, such as the government, and also the lack of representation. Instead the tax was
re-funneled back to the corporate people and the gov reps who helped them. The Founders knew this and said so. If the Bank quote is not real it should be because banks are never really our “friends” no
matter what they want us to believe, just like insurance companies.

It is done differently on the surface today, the Gov officials give back to their wealthy buddies, as with the little bush tax break and the unrealistic GOP Trickle Down incentives and helpful bills being pushed for the Corporations and in return there is help with campaign wins and huge contributions for the compliance doings. The Norquist Pledge goes further with their threatening the signers (over 270 GOP along with others in Congress) Representatives if they do not comply – to do as they are told. Those do not help the country enough to make any difference but the
Right gives its lip service to show they are in it to help the country. They know the Trickle downs and other corporate incentives will not work.

One great reason “Trickle Down” and other gifts to the Execs do not work is because it is ‘assumed’ the execs will share enough, allow enough to trickle, of those to make a difference but they do not. The givers in government of those know this but it is the show for us
that matters. I say they know because the concept of Trickle Down, any form, has been around for a long time and the execs use it more as savings rather than investing in expenses such as payroll. They truly are gifts for many execs and board of directors and, maybe the most important group, the Top Share Holders.

          • Robert Messmer

Actually if you check you will find that I didn’t say that you did, I said you seem to. Which with you constantly portraying the GOP/TP as being the party of the corporation it does SEEM that way. Perhaps a more even-handed treatment as “since both parties” would serve to keep anyone from mis-interpreting your intentions. For example you say “their failed Government Shutdown” when we all know the TP/GOP did not shut down one item. Obama shut down the Memorials, Yellowstone Park, etc and so on. If you can produce just ONE (1) single order to close a National Park or even to hire Private Security guards for public places, signed by anyone in the TP/GOP then I will certainly be happy to change my mind and apologize for being wrong. By the way, since stuff was shutdown due to lack of money, where did the Government get the money to pay for all the signs, tape, and guards?

That’s funny stuff about the Democrats keeping it peaceful considering that Obama had private citizens forcibly ejected from their own homes and believes he has the right to drone kill American citizens where ever they happen to be without a trial.

As I said it is a nice quote.

Then you go and do it again with “It is done differently on the surface today, the Gov officials give back to their wealthy buddies, as with the little bush tax break” and nary a mention of Obama bail-outs, nothing about his gifts to his buddies in the “green” energy fields. See there is no difference but if you are not even handed in your treatment then yes people will get the wrong idea.

“They truly are gifts for many execs and board of directors and, maybe the most important group, the Top Share Holders.” Guess what? Those Top Share Holders are Democrats and Republicans, although normally not directly owning the shares.

Robert Messmer… Yeah yeah, Obama shut it all down, is that what you believe? He did some things but not all of what you say and very much not the Government Shutdown. When the majority of the world watched
as the GOP, owned by the TP, was threatening a partial Government Shutdown and then forced it on us why are you in denial of that? The TPGOP hurt the economy again and they hurt so many people. Obama said he would discuss, negotiate, on some things but he wouldn’t on others during the Shutdown, things that would hurt to many to give into the TPGOP. The GOP caused a partial Shutdown while Clinton was President
and the TPGOP caused America’s credit rating to drop from AAA in 2011… Where are you to not know these things?

Your last paragraph referring to the Top Share Holders. Of course many are either GOP or Dems or whatever so what is your point? And if you think those top Shore Holders are “although normally not directly
owning the shares”, your words, who do you think own the shares if they are called “SHARE HOLDERS”? Walmart has a Share Holders week every year and while I was working there at their Home Office for
those years I know the execs wanted to pamper those top Share Holders so they would continue to give their money in large amounts. Every year in preparation Walmart spent a bundle to “entertain” the Share holder for just that reason. Walmart in not alone in this kind of Corporate/Share holders relationship, I would say all large Corporations have something like that going. Walmart is not alone in having anti-associate/employee policies either but that is another
            story. Walmart is very Republican.

Ok, I will do this one more time with you but you need to wake up and see there are bad things going on on all sides but I still see the TP as the greatest domestic evil and since they so much own the GOP it is scary. Below is something I wrote earlier today and if you do not accept any of it do your own research and stop asking me to do your home work for you. Something below will show and agree what I believe and say the TPGOP is the Party of the Corporations, it is by far not
just my belief. The GOP really should, for reality sake, change their nick name to “The Government Of The Corporate People”.

I believe we each accept and believe what makes the most sense to us but however we act on our beliefs is our choice.

He is one who is convincing in getting us to believe his enemies must be our enemies as well whether they are or not.

With that said take a look and see what is believed by so many who may not see things as you might if you are on the Right. All I am saying is we all need to know who is at the top of any organization with which we are considering being aligned.

is interesting to see how many are taking to the Tea influences.

I believe if there is room for a bible in one hand, or only in one’s heart, (and a gun in the other, but hopefully not) at ”intended or expressed peaceful” gatherings or any place else, there should be room for the Golden Rule in our thinking especially if we claim we are moral, rational, responsible and religious people. There is no such thing(s) in Nazi-like thinking.

There are so many more examples but if you refuse to even consider anything that comes out of the Left or the Right, which ever way you slant, you really should do your own research about your current or potential leaders and groups, hopefully before you join but after is a very good idea too.

All the more great reason for this guy and his “Saying to his potential
corporate owners “we will buy your company at a good price, fire
all your employees, sell all your assets so you can retire wealthier”
BAINing partner to have lost the Presidential election. If you are
retired, or close to that age, this guy and his programs ain’t for
you unless you are very wealthy.

Paul Ryan’s secret love affair with Obamacare
    The
Affordable Care Act, Republicans and their right-wing water carriers
warn, is the worst thing to happen to America since
slavery and the Fugitive Slave Act. But for congressional Republicans in general and Paul Ryan in particular, Obamacare also happens to be the love that dare not speak its name. After all, Ryan’s dangerous and unpopular voucher scheme to privatize Medicare not only depends on the success
of the very kind of health insurance exchanges he now decries, but also requires the ACA to cover the 65 and 66-year-old beneficiaries he would drop from the program covering 49 million seniors. And as it turns out, the same Paul Ryan who would defund, delay or repeal Obamacare nevertheless wants to keep every penny in new revenue it generates in order to fund his massive tax cut windfall for the wealthy.

This week, Rep. Ryan called on Health and Human Services
Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign over the troubled launch of the federal online health insurance exchange serving the 34 states who refused to build their own. But as it turns out, Ryan needs the exchange model to work almost
as much as any Democrat. As Ezra Klein first explained almost three years ago, the privatization of Medicare contained in Ryan’s “Path to Prosperity” blueprint and the GOP budget based on it requires it:

The current Medicare program is completely dissolved and replaced by a
new Medicare program that “would provide a payment – based on
what the average annual per-capita expenditure is in 2021 – to
purchase health insurance.” You’d get the health insurance from
a “Medicare Exchange”, and “health plans which choose to participate in the Medicare Exchange must agree to offer insurance to all Medicare beneficiaries, thereby preventing cherry picking and ensuring that Medicare’s sickest and highest cost beneficiaries receive coverage.”

    Sound familiar?

Familiar, indeed. Alice Rivlin, who worked on Ryan’s first version of the voucher, later confirmed to Klein that the idea was almost
identical to the Affordable Care Act:

Why does the Right hate ObamaCare so much? Could it be because most of it comes from the Left but, more importantly to them, it’s nick name
bears Obama’s name? Now aren’t those great reasons to hate a plan
that could help so many? Right-on if you are on the Right it seems. :-)
