Gut Bacteria Linked To Diabetes Epidemic

Gut Bacteria Linked To Diabetes Epidemic

Healthy gut bacteria have been directly linked to good overall health in numerous studies. New research amplifies the importance of ensuring the friendly bacteria in your gut are plentiful.

A new study published in the medical journal Nature indicates that the epidemic of type 2 diabetes often discussed by health professionals is directly related to the lack of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract.

“We have demonstrated that people with type 2 diabetes have a high level of pathogens in their intestines,” said the lead researcher for the Nature study, Jun Wang from the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Biology and Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, in a media statement.

Researchers found that study subjects with type 2 diabetes often had accompanying high levels of toxic gut bacteria. They plan to do further research to learn whether the unhealthy bacteria are the root cause of diabetes.

“We are going to transplant gut bacteria from people that suffer from type 2 diabetes into mice and examine whether the mice then develop diabetes,” said another of the lead scientists behind the project, professor Oluf Borbye Pedersen from the University of Copenhagen.

The number of people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes has snowballed in recent years. Scientists believe there are just as many undiagnosed people with the illness. With the possibility of a direct link between the disease and gut bacteria, there are a few easy dietary measures you can take to ensure gut bacteria health.

  • Avoid antibiotics, which kill healthy bacteria.
  • Eat a diet filled with raw foods and prebiotics, such as: fruits, legumes and whole grains.
  • Eat probiotic foods such as yogurt and naturally fermented sauerkraut to replenish healthy gut bacteria.

    Dear People,

Please stop eating garbage, read about GMO’S. Stop going to a Doc everytime you bloody sneeze.

Peace & Love be with you.

Very serious epidemic. GMO may be a part of the epidemic where healthy pathogens are killed by contamination of the round-up laced food. Taking a regimen of Metformin and Glyburide will eventually harden the kidneys, bladder and worse, liver and spleen.
Soon you will see all diabetes drugs advertised on the 1-800-bad drug:-) Hydrogenated foods, high fructose corn syrup, and aspartame are items to watch for too.

The father of natural health foods was Dr Paul Bragg. He was a proponent of enzymes and probiotics. His unfortunate demise came at the age of 93 as he was hit in the head by his surfboard and drown. He was the inspiration to Jack Lalanne

This kind of ties in to the article on eating as a vegetarian. Although meat can be good for you it also harbors many more bacteria and contaminates you easier. GMO foods are now making it tougher in what to eat so we get hit from chemical contamination in vegetables. Bacteria on vegetables can be washed off but that is not so easy with meat. The outside bacteria can be cooked off but not all within the meat. With diabetes and America becoming a fatter nation well do the math in what we eat and drink and what Monsanto corporation is doing to us.

It has been confirmed GMOs (bt corn, etc) cause gut flora disruptions. America has been callously poisoned by Monsanto and the other biotechs for nearly twenty years. And the ENTIRE thing is a sham. GMOs need more water, more pesticides, more herbicides, and all for LESS yield. It is time to bring these evil SOBs to their knees. Their place in history will be beside the Nazis (not kidding in the slightest).

Sugar and bad carbs cause bad gut flora to flourish. It only makes sense that unhealthy eaters would then have bad bacteria in their gut, right? I think if they ate healthy, their gut bacteria would change. No need to waste time and money putting bad bacteria into mice to see if they develop diabetes.

The key to a Diabetic diet isn’t necessarily cutting anything out completely, but instead is about counting up what is in that food item and eating it in an appropriate moderation. For example, having a slice of cake can be fine as long as you work it into your meal and have a smaller piece than you might have pre-diagnosis.
