Gun Seized In Argentina Tourist Slayings

SALTA, Argentina, Aug. 7 (UPI) — Officials say they have found a gun that may have been used in the slayings of two French tourists in Argentina.

The .22-caliber weapon turned up at a home next to the residence of one of seven suspects detained in the shooting deaths of the two women in Salta province, a spokesman for the Justice Department told the Buenos Aires Herald.

The newspaper Sunday reported the seven individuals picked up Saturday had been placed under arrest and would appear in court Monday.

Cassandre Bouvier, 29, and Moumni Houria, 29, were found shot to death in a mountain park near Salta last month. Police said they appeared to have been robbed and sexually assaulted.
