Grandma Makes 332 Scarves For School

WHITE PIGEON, Mich., Dec. 22 (UPI) — A Michigan woman hand-crocheted more than 300 scarves and donated them to her grandson’s elementary school.

Audrey Ledyard of White Pigeon said she had originally intended to create only enough scarves for her grandson, Landen Wilson, to distribute to his second-grade class, but she managed to crochet 332 scarves between April and Dec. 18, WOOD-TV, Grand Rapids, Mich., reported Thursday.

The scarves were all given to students at Central Elementary in White Pigeon.

Ledyard said she has previously created aprons and stockings for students in her grandson’s class.

“This year I wanted to do something different,” Ledyard said. “I wanted to do something to keep our kids warm.”
