IMHO the problem with the Volt:

    Needs 120 mile battery life

    10k less in price

Would have been a hit, with just those 2 changes

Plug in with extension cord to 120 volt outlet would be great

    Laus Deo
    Semper Fi

We’re supposed to want a piece of crap that has built-in flaws, will benefit no one but the White House poser, would have put together by union thugs and will probably be ‘perfected’ and then built in China.
It just gets better and better. So when do we start to pray multiple times daily and do it in the general direction of Washington? How far off can Sharia Law be?

The “Electric Edsel”….love it… show em’Omamba, give em’ hell!

Only at “Government Motors” can they take a car and charge nearly 15k over build costs and market it as a success when it catches fire after a side impact accident… There is a reason the sales for the “Volt” have not been well… Especially when you can pick up a better bang for your buck in the “Nissan Leaf” and save money… The main problem besides the severely inflated price tag is the lack of useful electric range… How can you honestly justify the price..?

A cheaper solution for the Volt is ….

    1) Ditch Internal Combustion Engine ….

    2) Replace with modern Steam Engine ….

    3) Redesign the battery packs ….

    4) A modern steam engine is the perfect match for a electric motor …

    5) Make the steam engine so it will take just about any fuel (Diesel, Kerosene, Bifuels, low octane gasoline …) that is cheaper than conventional gasoline…

Anyhow, any of you tech hobbyist – you know that a steam engine can be built from scratch much faster than a gasoline engine. The moern seam engines use a radiator/tube system rather than a boiler – much safer …..
