Give The People What They Want

Give The People What They Want

In the March 7 edition of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, liberal columnist Eugene Kane fired another salvo at the Democrat Party’s target-du-jour, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. In the piece “Scott Walker, Charlie Sheen: In the same boat?” Kane compares Walker to the erstwhile star of the sitcom “Two and Half Men.”

While Kane’s method is a bit hackneyed, his vertex from the poster boy for “Just Say No” to the Cheesehead State’s Horatio at the Bridge—fending off the Democrat/SEIU Etruscan Horde—is somewhat understandable. Being a liberal, Kane is writing for liberals. Being a Wisconsin liberal, Kane is writing for the same teachers’ union layabouts, professional protesters and run-of-the-mill thugs serving in the Democrats’ ongoing war against the children of Wisconsin.

The fact that Kane reached for this particular metaphor should serve as a cautionary note about the growing acceptance of otherwise marginal personalities as cultural icons. While political bloviations from ill-informed (George Clooney), deliberately duplicitous (Dan Rather) or just plain crazy (Rosie O’Donnell) celebrities isn’t new, the establishment of an intellectual equivalency between them and those whose prestige is based on some semblance of accomplishment beyond starring in some ham-fisted sequel (Clooney), destroying an entire news organizations’ credibility (Rather), or being just plain crazy (O’Donnell) appears to be gathering steam.

I’ll call it the celebutization of America. While it might not necessarily portend the decline and fall of our civilization, it does serve to lower the nature of the national discourse. When Oprah’s endorsement of President Barack Obama is considered momentous, real examination of his presidential acumen falls by the wayside.

For the sake of balance, when Mike Huckabee takes to the airwaves to decry unwed Natalie Portman’s pregnancy, Huckabee is diminishing the real issue of broken homes and fatherless children. When Lady Gaga is asked her (his? its?) opinion on… well… anything, we lose collective IQ points. Actually, I suspect the mere existence of Lady Gaga may be costing us a few in that column.

Be honest. When was the last time you heard some Hollywood talking mannequin offer a pronouncement on anything bigger than makeup and hair care that wasn’t mind-numbingly stupid?

“I am like so like glad you know that um… like Obama is totally like the President, you know? Cause like I am soo bummed that there’s like… war for oil and stuff. Oh, and go see Babez’n'Wheelz 4!”

We can do better than the absurdity of celebrity support of Obama for President, environmental protections for the Endangered Northern Idaho tree ferret and/or free abortions for Gabonese 8-year-olds.

In the 1960s, noisy liberal entertainers were… noisy. By the 1990s, they were making policy. Remember the infamous Alar hearings in 1989? Hey, Meryl Streep—stop it. While you’re at it, stop with the ABBA movies, as well. Ted Danson and Laura Dern are afraid the human race will die in a global warming inferno? Laura, you already look sickly. Ted, feed her an organic… something.

In 1997 a truly decent woman passed away after years of service to those in need. Although she was famous, she never sought the limelight and indeed seemed somewhat uncomfortable in its glare. She bore without complaint the deprivations of life with those whom she sought to comfort. She even won a Nobel Prize back in the days when it was worth more than an after-dinner mint at Spago. When she passed away, stories of her death were overshadowed by a bigger headline from five days prior.

If only Mother Theresa had looked better in a Versace pantsuit she might have been more celebrated than Princess Diana.

The world is afire with battles between oppressors and the oppressed. Our economy teeters on a precipice. Our President is the most colossally inept executive since Carter, if not Harding. These stories and more, coming up!

But first: Lindsay Lohan is drunk, Paris Hilton is silly and some rapper is dead.

Citizen Kane, like all utopians, has his head rammed up his overpaid opinion. Any progressive can tell you that Charlie Sheen, a Hollywood favorite, is the victim of a society gone mad. Shucks, it’s OUR fault that old Charlie has a problem.
Actually, I don’t see how anyone in Wisconsin can put Charlie Sheen and Governor Walker in the same category. Isn’t that like saying that a demigod and a mere mortal are the same? Governor Walker has a temporary problem with self-made addicts.
Charlie Sheen is a self-made addict. Normally, people like Sheen would have automatic support from utopians and other similar wackos. I wonder why Citizen Kane has dared to throw Sheen under the same bus as Walker.
One thing that comes to mind is the possibility that Kane is on the short list for being another winner of a Nobel Peace Prize (that is, if he can manipulate public opinion in Wisconsin).
Stuff happens, folks. Both Gore and Obama won Nobel Peace Prizes, and it should be obvious by now that neither did anything to deserve it.
Bread and circuses worked in old Rome. I’d like to think the good people of Wisconsin know better than to fall for that #%^*.

    • lkar

Unforunately, most people don’t change the channel long enough to explore other points of view. I would even contend that most people get their news from thier circle of influence without checking facts. It easier to sit around watching re-runs of 2 and half men than find out what is really causing states to scramble to avoid defaulting on bonds.

      • eddie47d

Two and a Half Men is quit funny yet Charlie Sheen can’t differentiate between the show and the reality of real life. Now the Public Broadcasting Station is an educational station with children’s programs and programs for adults who want to expand their world view. Yet the right wing in this country wants to cut off funding which will dilute the effectiveness of what they broadcast. They say NPR must go even though toddler education (Sesame St)has helped millions of kids learn and grow their minds. I’m thinking that these enemies of PBS would rather they watch endless hours of ridiculous cartoons dumbing down these kids learning abilities. I guess some Conservatives think that Big Bird is running around wearing a Mao hat and indoctrinating little kids.

        • Bud Tugly

The extreme right would be quick to fund truth twisting slime like Glen Beck and that load, Limbaugh if they could.

Many here talk about Obama being a totalitarian. Wisconsin is starting to sound like Libya.

          • s c

BT, flush what you believe. Most conservative programs don’t have to be concerned with being ‘funded.’ THEY MAKE MONEY! Popular programs pay for themselves and make money.
The vast majority of progressive programs are LOSERS. THEY”RE the ones that expect to be funded. Where the hell have you been hiding? Quit hanging around with Al ‘duh’ Gore. Whatever “bug” that twit has is extremely contagious (you’ve got it BAD, chum).

          • karolyn

sc – That’s the point. When a show does not have to be beholden to sponsors, you don’t have to watch or listen to commercials; and they don’t have to be careful that they don’t upset their sponsors. Then there’s the situation where people start compains against shows by boycotting the sponsors. The world would be a sadder, less informed place without PBS and NPR.

          • 45caliber

            karolyn:

You are missing one important thing. When a radio or TV station is no longer responsible to sponsors they can do whatever they want. Since they are “publically” sponsored, they can ignore what anyone says. Their pay comes from Congress so all they have to do is make sure that nothing bad is said about any Congressman when they run for office.

It’s like the National Endowment for the Arts. They give the money to a committee of artists to use. For some reason, about 90% of that money goes to those people on the committee. The remainder is given to a bunch of talentless people to keep the attention off themselves. Everyone complains about the talentless people. In the meantime they tell you want art you should see and you don’t get any input since you aren’t providing the money. (You are but you aren’t the one selecting who gets it.)

            BT,
Hey, can you say AIR AMERICA?!?!?!? BON VOYAGE!!!!Couldn’t keep an audience even though a few conservatives used to watch it once in awhile to see what the dumber half were saying!!!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            45caliber,
Just read something by you earlier on one of the older threads. I don’t usually disagree with you, but when you say that dioxin is harmless to humans, especially the type of dioxin in agent orange, i have to disagree soundly. The dioxin in agent orange is one of the most toxic chemicals known to man! right after they sprayed it in Nam, they saw monkeys falling out of trees and dying!! It causes hodgkins limphoma, prostate cancer, chloracne, spina bifida in kids from female vets, diabetes, impotence in men, and even lung cancer. These are conditions not only recognized by the US government but even the Austrailian government and now Canada is investigating as well.
My father in law was a chemist at dimond shamrock at the time agent orange was being produced and he too, will tell you the same thing.
PLEASE,PLEASE, NEVER tell anybody that it is harmless!!! There was a weaker strain used here in the US along the rail beds to keep the weeds down untill it was banned.

        • daveej

No offense, but Two and a Half Men is a disgusting show that has nothing but sex jokes (most of them have a 15 year old boys intelligence) from the opening line to the closing credits. This show is mind numbing and anyone who watches it regularly needs to get a life.

          • karolyn

Never watched, but I have heard that. Seems like all people want these days is that kind of stuff and “reality” TV.

          • Vigilant

daveej, you’re absolutely correct. I watched just ONE episode, and came away shaking my head. It appeals, as so much humor does these days, to the lowest common denominator. It might have been OK if it were a one-time movie, but to sit and watch the same kind of bathroom humor week in and week out is the sign of a one-track mind.

Does anyone remember the days when comedians and humorists actually farmed areas of the human mind at higher than gutter level?

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Vigilant,
            News busted!!!!! Love their comedy!!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Vigilant,
I believe you are talking of commediens like Lucy Ball and Red skelton!! I used to love both of them and they never got down to gutter level!!

        • TowTruck

Nobody is insulting Big Bird but the unfortunate outcome that you are trying so eloquently to demean at the cost of good Conservatives is basically like trying to defend the existence of a meth lab in a daycare center.

        • catman

No doubt your a communist! Additionally idiots like yourself should be silenced.
Shut up and go play in high speed traffic~!

  • karolyn

I too get really sick of hearing about the wacko lives of some celebrities. However, one should not discount the good works that so many of them do. Even Lady Gaga has something to say. I must admit that when I heard her interviewed, I was surprised at her intelligence and what a sincere person she is. I do believe, as I have heard, that Walker is looking toward a presidential try and wants to make a name for himself right out of the box. As far as Oprah goes, she has helped a great many people both directly and indirectly and it should be no surprise that she is well respected and her opinion does carry some weight.

    • L. Banks

The problem with the hollywood stars or idols is they may talk intelligently, but there actions are what others copy. Thus, drugs, preganancy out-of-wedlock, drunken brawls, destruction of property and all manner of offenses are alright for the Hollywood crowd and hence to many of their followers it is alright too. This is the danger with hollywood. They give others the opinion they are above the law and it is cool to do things that are dangerous to themselves and others. These stars need to promote and be more positive since actions speak louder than words. Unfortunately even the press dwells on the destructive side of Hollywood. Mother Theresa by her actions showed the world what the real love of God and mankind looked like…what the real Christ would have done if He were still among us. After all Christ did say “By thy fruits you shall know them” as words are nothing without action.

Eugene Kane’s job is to sell newspapers and not the truth. Most papers today are little more than Hollywood rags and the TV news too. They do not want the American people to know the truth. They want to keep them fat, dumb and happy until they can pull the rug out from under them. Rome is reborn in the United States and we are about to suffer the same fate if people do not wake up. Governor Scott Walker took a stand to make his state solvent and yet encourage businesses to come to Wisconsin and bring more jobs and money to the state. This has not made him popular. It has caused him to be attacked and mocked and made a target. Truth does that to people and if truth is not popular, we go after the messenger …. just ask Jesus Christ.

      • libertytrain

Mother Teresa must not be worthwhile for Hollywood. I don’t recall any movies on her life to date, or any of those quick made for TV movies. No money in good deeds?

        • http://?? Joe H.

          libertytrain,
No sexy skeletons in the closet!!!

          • libertytrain

I think she came from a wealthy family. Surely there’s something there that would get a little frothing at the lips from those Hollywood twits.

    • Ted Crawford

Having watched Oprah over the years has made one thing clear, she panders, quite well I must say, to peoples sympathy. As soon as some ISM, Phobia, or malize becomes popular she will, tearfully, admit to have suffered from it. She must be the most victumized individule in the entire world, because her bank accounts rise dramatically with each new revelation, and the best paid!
Her oponion and the menu price will get you a cup of coffee in any worthwhile establishment!

    • barbm

ever notice that when the hollywood elites give, it’s usually to somebody in some other country? i read (perhaps on here) that bill gates gives millions to other countries to deliver educations. oprah, same thing, schools in africa. if they’d pay the taxes they should, i wouldn’t have a problem with it, but they don’t.

      • 45caliber

They do pay the taxes that they should. It isn’t their fault that there are so many tax loop holes for the rich. What they are not doing is paying all the taxes that they could. Two different things.

And I can’t really blame them. If I could reduce my taxes by using loop holes, I’d do it too. At least by giving the money they do – even if it is overseas – they get to see that it is used correctly and nto wasted on some politician’s re-election bid.

        • barbm

should meaning their fair share. i know they’re legal loopholes. my point is that there shouldn’t be.

      • Kate8

barbm – Not only to they give to other countries, but they always do it with fanfare and photo-ops, which get splashed all over TV and magazines.

It just doesn’t count unless you give for the sake of giving, without needing to make sure the world knows about it. Otherwise, it’s just self-interest, however nice it is for the recipient.

In fairness to Oprah, she said she built the school in Africa because there the kids were appreciative. Americans are just ungrateful. They are too entitlement-minded. I see her point.

        • s c

Kate8, I’d like to see a large group of superior, dedicted, enlightened teachers move to Africa for 5 or 10 years, and help Oprah with her school. It seems that Wisconsin has lots of teachers who fit that description. Those teachers who’ve been in the media spotlight recently should do the right thing and move to Africa.
I’m sure Oprah has qualified teachers in her African school, but what she really needs is teachers who are head-and-shoulders above the rest. She needs teachers who will ‘stop at nothing’ to see that their students get the best possible education. Oprah needs to look no farther than Wisconsin.
I have a feeling that Wisconsin’s governor will see the wisdom of that idea. The people of the state of Wisconsin will see why their teachers are the best
and why they MUST go to Africa. Maybe they’ll stay there for the rest of their lives.
So how soon will they be leaving?

    • Vigilant

      karolyn,

I don’t think anyone is knocking intelligence, sincerity or doing good works, all laudable things.

What is being decried is the automatic assumption on the part of the “bread and circus” crowd that celebrity status somehow makes one an expert in sociology, political theory or even science.

Turns out in the Alar scare that Streep was completely wrong, after it ruined some businesses. Why anyone would listen to an idiot like Sean Penn is beyond me. Same for Clooney, Asner, Sarandon, Streissand and any number of other actors who assume that just because they have the limelight, they also have expertise in other fields of endeavor.

    • Jay

Karolyn, I wouldn’t be to quick to exclude Lady Gaga, from the list of some celebrities that make you really sick. She has something to say and she does do works alright, but I highly question if what she says or does can be considered good contributions. Off course, the flag “I was born this way” that Lady Gaga waves, is a flag that you, no doubt, recognize and applaud. Is she intelligent? Possibly.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      karolyn,
If you are talking about her school she built, did you bother to follow up on that and see where one of the teachers were molesting the kids??? She sure did a lot of good for THOSE kids, didn’t she!!

      • Kate8

        Joe H. – I didn’t hear about that either!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Kate8 research it, its there!!

  • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Putting Charlie Sheen and Gov. Walker in an analogy together is ridiculous. Sheen is mentally ill, possibly from all his self-proclaimed drug abuse. Gov. Walker is trying to do his job. Sheen is a has-been; Gov. Walker is fresh and new and going places. No comparison!

    • eddie47d

Charlie Sheen must go and no one should have pity on him.Making $2 million an episode and then drunkenly demanding $3 million was reckless of him. Since he has been on the air 5 years that means he has made $230 million. What an egotistic arrogant rat. Ben Crystal’s bashing of George Clooney is another matter and I will call him out on this. Clooney does hands on charity especially in Darfur. He really cares and gives his time and money.Big difference Ben so get a clue. Ben also likes to say “for the sake of balance”,what a crock. You’re about as balanced as the Titanic with a hole in it. I truly doubt if there are many Conservatives who emulate Mother Theresa. They and their supporters are too busy stuffing their pant pockets with loot from their tax breaks and their off shore bank accounts. They wouldn’t dare dirty their hands helping a dying person in India or any other poor country.I know plenty of Liberals who would do just that.Just ask those who give their services to Peace Corp or Doctors Without Borders or even Vista.

      • Robin from Arcadia, IN

eddie… To say that liberals do more for the down trodden than conservatives is a pretty broad statement. If you have any real facts to prove that, please do. I am conservative and I look forward to the mission trip I go on each year with my church. I work every week at a pantry/clothing/shoes distribution center for our township where everything is free, and I have worked on local projects with several churches joining in. I don’t think what I do is anything special, but I am blessed by it, as well as everyone else who is right there with me.

        • independant thinker

Robin, don’t hold your breath waiting for eddie to provide any real proof of what he claims.

          • Eddie47d

            Proof of common knowledge?

          • Thamera

            Eddie: You have neither.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            eddie,
If, as you say, it is common knowledge, then you should be able to prove it easily!!! There should be literally THOUSANDS of sites!!!

        • 45caliber

          Robin.

Liberals do spend more money on charities, etc. than you do. After all, they are using someone else’s money.

Now if you were talking about giving money of your own against them giving money of their own, you would be correct.

      • barbm

“…give their services to Peace Corp or Doctors Without Borders or even Vista.” again, ever notice how so many who give make sure it’s outside our country? do we not have people including children who need medical care? don’t we have schools that could use some help? charity begins at home. when all of ours are safe, healthy, fed, sheltered, then we can give to others.

        • sandman

          Barb,

The only thing you missed was we have so many at home that sit on their butts and do nothing except tell us we should provide a handout for them. I have been in other countries where the poor are really poor and they will work for anything so they can survive. How would you like to sweep a busy street all day just to receive cooking oil and flour for the day? We need to bring back Workfare as a national program!

          • 45caliber

            Sandman:

I agree. A town in Maryland about twenty five years ago simply hired every person on welfare in town. Those who couldn’t work were paid to do what they could do. Those who could work picked up trash all day.

At the end of six months, there were only two people still on their books. The rest decided that if they had to work to get paid, they could find a better paying (above minimum pay) job. And they did.

However the courts ruled that it was a form of slavery to make a person work for that check. Everyone had the right to draw welfare without being forced to work. So it went away.

The reason they made the ruling? Those working for the welfare department were afraid they might lose their jobs if everyone got jobs of their own.

          • barbm

i’m not talking about those lazy welfare people who get medicaid. they get all their medical taken care of on our backs. i’m talking about those with deformities that are not covered by insurance since it’s cosmetic who can’t afford to pay for it. a lot of folks work but don’t make enough to see a doctor when they need to much less when they want to.

        • 45caliber

I agree. Take care of ourselves first and THEN help others. Instead of the other way around.

However, health care can be a problem regardless. In England, where officially it is free, it is almost impossible to get in to see a doctor. An English friend told me that it take about three days – AFTER your appointment time comes up. The reason is that many people who would take a couple of asprin for a headache now run down to the doctor since they don’t have to pay. Since they would have to buy the asprin, it is cheaper since they can also get prescription medicine for nothing. He said it is a “form of entertainment for those on welfare”. And each appointment is set every FIVE minutes. It is impossible to see a really ill person in five minutes so that is the reason you have to wait.

If you include cosmetic care in this, it really gets harder to see a doctor when you are ill.

I don’t have a problem with an ill person going but just someone who wants a face lift or breast implants? Why should I pay for that? Take a look at our emergency rooms in hospitals. About 2/3rds of all visits are by people who don’t want to pay to go see a doctor and want to walk away from the cost. All of those would be going to doctors if it was free – which would tie up the doctors even more.

          • skip

Absolute nonsense, 45 – England ranks higher than us in health care delivery, no contest. They have problems, but ours are dramatically worse. Check your private insurance premiums lately? How many uninsured do they have? What is their infant mortality rate? My English relatives get health care as quickly and expertly as can be obtained here, and at no cost (except their “medicare” type taxes paid for it. Zilch, nada, nothing out of pocket.) A Private, non-Medicare health insurance policy here, if you had a chance of qualifying, would be more than $100,000, were you over 65 years old. What insurance company will insure a 70 year old who is destined to become sick, and slowly die, as we all will? Figure it out and tell us how to solve the problem.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Skip,
I am 60 years old, have insurance through my WIFES shop and have had it for about 27 years. I obtained this coverage even though I am diabetic, have very high cholesterol, have a congenital back problem, and am a high risk for prostate cancer!! They paid out over one hundred thousand dollars on my back the first time, and over fifty thousand dollars the second time, and pay beau coup dollars on my diabetes meds even though it has been determined to be service connected!! I was exposed to defoliants in RVN! Please tell me where they have charged me more than I have recieved? Oh, and I also had an emergency surgery where they removed a very large abcess off the inside of my abdomen, another 25 or 30 thousand!! On Englands system, the abcess would have burst waiting in the ambulance outside the hospital while “stacking” made their wait times at the ER look better!! If I was 70 years old at the time, they would have put me on pain meds and let me starve to death as there would not be any appreciable improvement in my condition!! I too, have friends there and they tell me the TRUTH!!

        • Eddie47d

Barbm;PeaceCorp and Vista do have programs within the USA.The Red Cross does work around the world and also in the USA.

Walker and the Wisconsin senators are the closest thing to Hitler and Mussolini we have witnessed in years. Those shenanigans that passed the extermination of the teacher’s unions was the worst example of political activity yet seen in the US. Michigan and WIsconsin governors are now in effect dictators of the Gaddafi and Hitler ilk; if this continues, we will all be owned by the Koch brothers, and I doubt that they are very thoughtful and kind to their employees, their employees’ children’s teachers, their employees working conditions, or the environment where their employees live. Our nation was built on public education, and it must be supported and strengthened and improved, or the middle class will never again have a chance to advance. We’ll all be swabbing the decks of the Koch brother’s yachts and begging for their leftovers!

We keep throwing more and more money at the problem in the kids, the teachers and the system and we get farther and farther behind!!! We were once the highest educated country in the civilized world!! If we listen to you and your union croneys, we’ll be behind the animals of the world!! Get a clue!!

Just goes to show what a slow day Kane was having….and with a limited amount of sense….the best he could do to come up with what he calls “Journalism”. Maybe he coudn’t find anyone else to play a good game of marbles with that day….or maybe he’s smoking the same thing Charlie’s smoking.

Has keith olberman been replaced yet? I may have found a candidate!

Oh for shame – you left one celeb off – Poor Obum didn’t take him serious – he said that he could be of great help to Obum – because he knew everything there is to know about eastern europe – oh yes it was that pastey faced celeb from ? (liberal word) who is also a graduate from Obums’s institute of (what is that liberal word). But he was foresaken and over looked for an Ambassador job that he was oh so being Humble about wanting. So now he has to change his snake skin and look presentable elsewhere – doing almost autobiographical flix’s about people who are truely humble. My dears – he can rack his pile to and fro and still the stench will be there. Matt Damon – know you for what you are – now what is that liberal word?

If you libbies want a star toremember for doing something great, look no further than Denzel Washington! He donated a whole wing at a vets hospital for our wounded and paralized warriors!! Wrote a check for the whole thing right on site!!! Now THERE’s a man with a heart!!

  • American Citizen

How about what we, the taxpayers, want. No one is talking about that in the MSM. It’s all about those with their hands out. Keep those hands out of our pockets!.

    • 45caliber

      Agreed.

  • Ted Crawford

Yet another Alinsky decip;e. How can we give creedance to the oponion of someone that follows the teachings of someone as delusional as that? Alinsky with one sentence labels himself as an optimist, and with another declares that the world, of necessity, must be in a continues state of revolution! Nuff said!

  • Fly By Night

God Bless Charlie Sheen, because didn’t “big smiley face” Obama have a hand in having him fired…? So what, if Charlie is an actor…? Obama needs to be IMPEACHED!!! :-(

  • Bill

Where have the real Americans gone? People like this author aren’t mentally capable of serious public comment. It’s obvious government workers shouldn’t have unions since they are bargaining with people they put in office. FDR didnt allow them and they werent available until John Kennedy’s term. Organized labor has replaced organized crime as our number 1 problem. But what can we expect when we have a president that has never held a serious job all he has done is to lead a community organization group which is nothing more than a professional extortionist.

    • Carlucci

“Organized labor has replaced organized crime”. You got that right, Bill. Excellent post.

    • 45caliber

      Organized labor IS organized crime.

    • Cathy

You are 100% correct. I saw a letter posted that was written to a company supporting Governor Walker. It was signed by the firemen and police organizations, and it was threatening the company by telling them to drop their support for Walker or otherwise face the consequences. This sounds like the Mafia. What I don’t understand is that the firemen and police were not being denied collective bargaining. I also saw pictures of farmers on tractors supporting the unions. What is their beef in this bill?

People had better wake up before its too late. We have many states bordering on bankruptcy, and the federal government is worse than the states. The citizens in this country better demand that spending be cut before they find themselves like Greece. People say it could never happen here; well it can. We have an irresponsible president who doesn’t have a clue as to what is going on in the real world, and the Democrats only think about handing out more money to those who are here illegally and those who don’t want to work. I am a senior citizen and have never seen the country in this desperate situation. If the president and the Democrats really care about this country and the citizens, they should pull together to eliminate this crisis that we are facing.

The right always has a tendency to knock the Hollywood stars but the three they have on there side,Chuckles Norris, Jon Voight and Pee Wee Herman. They are all dancing in the streets and looking for autographs and pictures when these Hollywood elites are at rallies. If Charlie Sheen did show up you would love him or even Lady Ga Ga.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      jopa,
i think you made a mistake. Pee Wee Herman is a dem pervert!!! Remember he was caught doing the old ding a ling in a theater???

  • Polski

So, is it true? Governor Walker and the legislature are working for $1 per year and the rest of their salaries are going to be used to fund government employees?

  • Polski

Corporate executives, both in government and private industry, have replaced organized crime…..Governor Walker, AIG, Enron, Fanny mae, etc.etc………..

  • ONTIME

Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Charlie Sheen are low lifes who believe they are high lites and because they can afford the legal fees at present are staying out of jail where they belong….money talks as long as you have it handy.

    • 45caliber

Charlie Sheen needs to be in a mental institute, Lohan needs to be in jail, and Hilton needs to be in Africa or some other similar place. Iran, maybe?

Mike Huckabee is just another Racist Conservative Republican that would like to see the Confederate Flag flying over
Arkansas and have Segragation the rule in Arkansas

Huckabee is a Dem Lite. He calls himself a Rep. because Dems are not elected in AR now.

Au Contraire…..45…old boy…I happen to know that a good portion of Arkansans are yeller dog democrats. There are about half as many blue dogs as there are yeller dogs but democrats are plentiful there!

45cal.I would have to say the real criminals are on Wall street but our government cannot seem to find any wrongdoers. Now that the markets over 1200 again there should be another crash soon where the investors lose and the Wall Streeters win again.

    • 45caliber

There are criminals in all things. Just as there are good honest people in all things. I happen to feel that most union officals are criminals – after all, they get pay offs to allow someone to work when they do nothing to hire or otherwise care for those people. It is like the old Mob or Mafia with small businesses: “It would be a shame if your business burned down. For a small fee we can see that it doesn’t happen.”

There are criminals on Wall Street. But I believe most there are honest. We just hear about the dishonest ones more. There are criminals in politics. Unfortunately they outnumber the honest ones who also get tarred by the same brush.

  • TowTruck

I am a hardcore, rightwing Conservative but in this case…. I have to agree with Kane in his comparison of Scott Walker to Charlie Sheen. It would ABSOLUTELY take 2 1/2 men to do the job that Governor Walker has taken on and is doing so successfully! Thank you for pointing that out……. Eugene. Governor Walker….. we are behind 100%!

    • Fly By Night

:-)- Charlie Sheen should throw his hat in to be the President of the USA.:-) If Obama could win then Charlie WILL win…:-)

    • skip

Walker, Hitler, Mussolini, Gaddafi, Sheen – all living or lived in a delusional world.

      • Cawmun Cents

you mean like Union elite who co=opts my money to elect progressive democrats?

  • http://slowdad@aol.com Ed in Florida

To compare Governor Walker to the likes of Charlie Sheen is a cause of worry as to where the American mind set is going. I like a good laugh but the person causing the laughter is usually portraying a buffoon. If a person begins to identify with the buffoon then who is the real buffoon? I was a union member once and my membership was beneficial to me in getting higher pay and better working conditions, however; my membership and dues were never used to promote a president or any politician. Unions were only to negotiate with the company. Now, unions use union dues to support a candidate that maybe most union members don’t support or want to vote for. This is where unions become dangerous and counter productive and corrupt. Major unions today are corrupt because of the money and power they possess. Corrupt politicians routinely court these unions at the expense of those members who have morals and conservative ideals. As a conservative I don’t want my, or your union dues going to support a politician whom I consider a Liberal buffoon. Governor Walker please make the hard moral choices needed to save your state from the inevitable abyss.

When Walker gets booted out after his year is up Sarah can brag that she has twice the experience as Walker.

      I bet he gets re-elected….

    • Cawmun Cents

There is something to be said for someone with the testicular fortitude to do what he sets out to do….Instead of pandering to a voting block….

  • Anthony

Good Article, Ben. As always… You could’ve rambled a bit more, I would have rode that wave.

As for the comparisons – what I see in the Media, is the hate diatribe the CFR-owned communistic media pushing HATE speech again when the world ain’t stiff-arm salutin’ their wishes.

Why is it that when the DEMS go off and do something with NO Repubs signing on, as well… then, that’s okay … but if the Conservatives do it, it’s somehow a hanging offense (?) DEMS pull fast ones on Voters all the time, in practically every State in the Union ..yet, we don’t see Union thugs screamin’ they’ve been ripped off by some Rights-stealin’ politician… Just askin….

And, as for Charlie Sheen? Let’s dig deeper, Ben. I’m bettin’ ol’ Charlie is trying to push the very same message that many of us, right here, have been pushing for several years now… and it’s about the Agenda of the NWO. Hence the media’s NEED to character-assassinate the guy, in any way possible.

Does Charlie have a drinking problem? Maybe. But, I see him being setup more often than he sets himself up. His Show’s Producer & Diretor both drop him like a bad habit, over a drunken binge at some hotel? NO, they’ve been given marching orders to distance themselves because of the REAL message he’s pushing about NWO. And, he seems to have his own Father standing right behind him, even though he used to lead The West Wing.

    Now, you extrapolate….

    • Kate8

Anthony – I had the same thoughts about ol’ Charlie. While I never saw his show, or any other thing he’s been in for that matter, when the Left goes all-out to destroy a career there has to be something else afoot.

Could it be his collaboration with Alex Jones in spreading the word about the NWO? Ya think?

The PTB can make someone successful and famous beyond their wildest dreams if they cooperate with the agenda. They can just as easily take them down if they don’t.

Liberals usually protect their own. When they turn on them, you have to ask why.

      • Jay

Kate8, you nailed it! That is exactly the reason for the liberal, lynch mob. Charlie Sheen finally woke up and spoke out, and they don’t like it. Good focus!
