Fugitive Siblings Sought In Colorado

DENVER, Aug. 10 (UPI) — A Denver FBI spokesman said a very credible report has placed the so-called Dougherty Gang in the state of Colorado where authorities hope to apprehend them.

The three Dougherty siblings made the FBI’s most-wanted list on suspicion of shooting a police officer who tried to pull them over in central Florida and robbing a bank in Valdosta, Ga., The Denver Post reported Wednesday.

Dave Joly of the Denver FBI said 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty and her two brothers, Dylan 26, and Ryan, 21, are considered armed and very dangerous.

All three have previous arrest records ranging from misdemeanor drug possession to felonies.

“We believe they pose a very imminent threat to the community we serve and to law enforcement,” Joly told a news conference Tuesday.

He said based on their purchases, including camping supplies, officials believe the trio may be headed to a rural area or a campsite to avoid detection.

The three were last seen driving a white 2006 Subaru Impreza sedan. A car matching that description was seen in Colorado Springs Tuesday bearing stolen Texas license plates LCS 909.
