Happy Thanksgiving From The Staff At Personal Liberty Digest

Happy Thanksgiving From The Staff At Personal Liberty Digest

On behalf of the entire staff of Personal Liberty Digest, I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving. It is our hope and prayer that you have been as blessed and enlightened by the news and opinion we provide every day as we have been by your patronage and the wonderful comments and contributions you make.

Personal Liberty Digest began just two years ago as a once-weekly Personal Liberty Alerts email to a small number of people. We now send unique content five days a week that is seen by hundreds of thousands of subscribers. We value each and every one.

Know that we are going to continue to work diligently to bring you the truth, challenge the status quo and guard the liberties of all Americans. We will continue to present the unvarnished truth to you, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. We will encourage you to look at things from a new paradigm, for in doing so we bring about a greater understanding of the forces that are working in their own interests rather than in the interests of the people.

In the coming year you will see us expand our offerings. We are constantly striving to find the best and brightest liberty-loving contributors. With that in mind, if there is a topic or subject that you would like to see more of, please let us know. The comments section below is an excellent place to pass along your thoughts about what we are doing right and how we can make the site better.

Thank you so much for your continued patronage and loyalty.

Best wishes,

Editor, Personal Liberty Digest™
Editor, The Bob Livingston Letter™

In 1789, not long after ratification of the U.S. Constitution, President George Washington, upon the recommendation of Congress, issued a national proclamation setting Nov. 26 as a day of thanksgiving and prayer. We think his words still ring true today. Following is the text of that proclamation. We hope you enjoy it. As you read it, consider how these words would be received if issued by a president today.

General Thanksgiving

By the PRESIDENT of the United States Of America

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;–for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish Constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;–for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;–and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;–to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

I was watching the black caucus on TV this morning; they are out to better the black man and in return helping the other minorities. I am a white man that sees my rights being taken away more and more. It started when I tried to apply for a state job. I scored a 82 on the exam. I was told minorities get 10 points or more added to there score because they were black. I think Donald trump is right our politicians are stupid. And our defense secretary said the white man is a wimp. Before you know it if your white you will be put in jail because you will be labeled a racist. I am not a racist. It just a way to put the white man down..

Perhaps other avenues exist for fullfilling your dreams; I discovered ample opportunities exist for income, happiness, friendships and new vistas almost everywhere. It is not where to look but how to look. I had a difficult time arriving at this truth and am still developing the understanding. God speed in your search, you will find what you seek and nothing can stop you with Him in your heart.

      • Granny Mae

Give thanks for all the good and the bad.

Yes the good is always a plus, but with out the bad we can never fully understand how good we have it, or perhaps better said, how good we had it.

Lets all work together to fix all the wrongs we can, To fix the broken and corrupt political system.

Lets work together to remove the NWO and all that want to bring Evil on the world and have been doing so for so long.

Lets all work together to right the wrongs, Lets Give Thanks.

And Bob, and Crew, Thank you for having this sight where we can all work as a team to right the wrongs. Sholom.

  • Henry Ledbetter

To the staff of Personal Liberty. Thanks for the work you do behind the scenes and i expect with very little recognition. I pray that truth is what we all seek, as only truth can set us free. I have found that God is true and His Word is always true. We pray that each of you find refuge in Him as the storms of our present time in history intensify. Remember that He is able to quell the storm at any time but His ways are not our ways but always above our ways. At times it is best we be hardened in order that we may be strong for others. FOR THOSE THAT KNOW HIM, JOY ALWAYS COMES IN THE MORNING. HAPPY THANKSGIVING HENRY & BRENDA LEDBETTER

      Vigilant,

It was wall to wall talk and laughter in this house on Thanksgiving day. A lot of hard work for me but so worth it when the day is done and everyone goes home happy and full of good food ! I grew a turkey for Thanksgiving but he was so big I couldn’t find a pan big enough to put him in so he got a repreve ! Bought a smaller one and smoked it! It was delish ! Mr. Tom weighed in at 38 pounds ! No more raising turkeys for me ! LOL ! Happy Thanksgiving !

  • Robert Bradfield

Hi it is that South African, I wish you all a brilliant Thanksgiving, it so nice to see a people giving thanks for everything they received and joining their families in doing so. We also had something very similar, but through time the “Day of the vow” has changed and has taken on a completely different tone. We lost that and also the thanking of the Lord our God for deliverance from a mighty foe. A long time ago, as I understand it, your forefathers also also had to contend with a dangerous foe, hunger, but was delivered from that through divine intervention and you still remember that. I salute you all for that.

    • libertytrain

Perhaps someday you’ll join us here and partake in our Thanksgiving.

      • Granny Mae

        libertytrain,

How was your Thanksgiving? I hope it was filled with everything good to eat and wall to wall laughter and happy talk from family and friends. God Bless !

        • libertytrain

It was fine – thanks Granny- hope we all had a little break —

    • Jana

      Thank you Robert B.,
I hope you have a blessed day too. One thing I have found, is that we can thank the Lord our God any day of the week, any hour of the day. I join you in giving thanks to the Lord for your blessings too, as you are my brother.

      • Robert Bradfield

Jana, we are indeed brothers and sisters as we serve the same God. While reading your reply I started thinking about our histories and it is frightening how many similarities there are. Our countries were found in the 1600′s. Both started with influences of our respective “masters” in your case the the English and in our case the Dutch. We both expanded into the hinterlands of our countries by moving into someone’s territories. We both were in confrontation with the locals and through conquest established ourselves. We both fought wars of independence, you being lucky enough to win yours, we were not that lucky. South Africans are in a way lucky that we never had a civil war which you had to contend with. We both went trough a period of segregation between races, yours taking much less time to resolve, we are still trying to come to terms with racial harmony. both our countries have problems with our current governments, based on everything that is being said on in these posts. We are both worried about the “New World Order” and the effect of this on our freedom. I can not but agree with you that we are indeed more than brothers and sisters we are compatriots in the new future.

        • Granny Mae

          Robert Bradfield,

Isn’t it amazing that there is no problems with race when it comes to the blind? When we all are on here and can’t see skin color there is no problem unless someone starts with crazy talk trying to start something. I like it when there is no problems. I have many friends in many places and none of us has the same skin color and we never think about it when we are talking to each other. Maybe one day the world will finally get it all together.
I’m sending you all the Thanksgiving Blessings from my house to yours! Have a great day ! Granny

  • Bob Wire

Thank You Bob Livingston and Staff

and one and all here on the forums.

It’s days like this, I question if I’ve done enough or have failed to do something.

This year, I think I’ll read GW’s proclamation one more time and savor the intent and spirit it offers.

Thanks for the posting BL and bless your house.

Days like this, I think about our soldiers in far away places.

It’s kind of funny really, ~ I was pulling perimeter guard duty this day in 1969. It was 24 hour duty, and proved to be uneventful, just looking out over a sector laced with 4 rows Constantina wire, 2 rows of barb wire, decorated with claymores, shape charges and trip wires. Hot coffee and a muffin was delivered to the bunker at one point, we were grateful someone thought of us. Being relieved and making our way back to the mess hall tent, we seen they had treated the local villagers and there wasn’t a scrap of food left over, not a cranberry.

    I never like turkey anyway.

    • Angel Wannabe

Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless Bob W!

    • Granny Mae

      Bob Wire,

The time has come for the varous conservative and patriot organizations to begin hitting on the subject of IMPEACHMENT.
Obama has gone against the principles of the Constitution. Impeachment is not out of question, it should be the question.

If we went by the constution, there would still be slaves, and women could not vote. How many repukes, want that?

      • JimH

Robert, I must have a different copy of the Constitution than you. I can’t find anywhere that it says women can’t vote and that I have to own a slave.

Still trolling the site and trying to stir the waters, hmmm? You do greatly err, the Constitution does mention slavery, but it was to get the southern states to ratify the Constitution. Sorry to go there today, but in the interest of yesterday’s thread on S510, here is a shocking list of Senators who voted FOR this abomination. I was shocked by some.

To Karolyn – both of your R Senators, Graham and DeMint, voted FOR this. Some others that surprised me are Kyle, Cornyn, Sessions…

This is unconscienable, and does not bode well for our expecations from the coming shift in Congressional power. Our own are turning on us in droves.

    • Kate8
      • Give me a Break!

Kate8, according to the list on the web site you provided, Senator’s Graham and DeMint voted against forwarding S510.

        • Give me a Break!

I’m not surprised that the majority of those Senators voting for S510 are Democrats, the problem I have is with the ones who represent states that are predominantly agricultural. This goes to show that our Government is against anything that’s decent and good in our country. The farmers of all people, who feed and cloth the populous, yet they have no appreciation for what they have, especially right before Thanksgiving! Sorry for being bias, but having grown up on a farm and seeing how leaders degrade what has been the back-bone of America, it’s hard not to be upset. Happy Thanksgiving to all………

I loved that womans sense of humor ! They were a hard working and hearty bunch of people. They had to be to make it through that first year. Boy am I Thankful they did !

            Happy Thanksgiving !

Happy Thanksgiving to you Bob Livingston, your staff & all of you who visit this site! You’ve all become my friends (except the “progressives”, but I still pray that God will bring you to your senses)!

I’m thankful to still have a place to visit to share our thoughts, our concerns & our hopes for correcting the evils that have been brought upon our Great Country by those who hate everything our founders intended for us. My prayer is that we’re allowed to continue to do so with “Net Neutrality” (which will NOT be ‘Neutral’) in the works.

May God bless each & every one of you with good health & provide you with all your needs & may we all be thankful for all the blessings of living in the USA & for those who protect & defend us each & every day so we can still come here to express our opinions!

Thank you! I hope you & your family had a wonderful day! Tinwarble & I were by ourselves today (with the pets) & had a great dinner. My older son is traveling with “LoCash Cowboys” as their sound engineer & tour manager. Some “dufus” booked them for a show last night. They had to fly back to Nashville today, & have to leave out again early tomorrow so no time to come down. Then we planned Thanksgiving for Sunday but they got booked with George Jones in Iowa & have to leave Sunday night. My younger son & wife normally go to her parents for early dinner & have late dinner with us on Thanksgiving, but it just got screwed up this year. They both called today wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving & sorry they missed my good dinner. We have so much to be thankful for & you and the other “regulars” here are part of that! God bless you!

Many thanks to all & let’s all have many more Thankgiving Days!

I want to thank you Bob Livingston and others for helping me to have a good first Thanksgiving as an American citizen. It’s somewhat different than what we have in Korea. I’ve learned more about America, history, and government on this site, than I ever learned in my books. I hope I can still make more friends on this site. Bob, I also wish to consider you as my friend also. Happy Thanksgicing everyone. Thank you.

I just want to welcome you as a new American citizen & to say that I hope you & Samurai had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’ve been cooking all day so I just had a few minutes to visit here tonight!

Special belated Happy Thanksgiving to Eric Bishoff, Eyeswideopen, eddie87, Smilee, Norm and denniso. After all, deep down inside we are all on the same team, are we not? I would like to think yes we are. Happy Thanksgiving.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to you, you staff, and your contibutors and readers. I am thankful that such a site exists where we can still freely express our views. My local newspaper has banned my comments because they are not PC., so much for freedom of speech, but it’s their newspaper. Keep up the good work.

A belated thanks to you Bob and staff. Although what you sometimes have to report makes me very angry and if I could I would knock some heads together very hard.
One other thing I am very thankful for is that the Supreme Court is FINALLY looking at the question of the ‘Manchurian Candidate” presidency. I f we could get rid of this man, so would recent appointments to the Supreme Court have to go. Plus all the lousy Pelousy/Reid encumbered laws. And we can start again with the CONSTITUTION as our guidelines.
Thanks again and to all the others on this blog-Happy Thanksgiving. Keep up the spirit. The rightful must win!
