By no stretch of the imagination has Hillary Clinton ever known what it means to be “dead broke.” She knows that, and she knows that making that comment recently in a televised interview was a big mistake. But her attempt at damage control, implying that she isn’t “truly well off” because she and her husband have worked and pay income taxes, is simply insulting. Could this be Clinton’s “47 percent” comment, the one that dooms her attempt to become the next President of the United States?
