Free Exercise Of Industry And Its Fruits

September 9, 2010 by

Barring legislative action before the end of the year the Federal estate tax — also known as the death tax — will return on Jan. 1, 2011. That means the Feds will steal 55 percent of the estates valued at more than $1 million of people who die after Jan. 1.

Elected elites and their media lapdogs have successfully sold the argument that only the rich pay estate taxes and therefore those taxes are justified. But add the value of a home, a retirement account (such as a 401k) and a little bit of savings and other real property and it doesn’t take long to pass the $1 million threshold.

That’s going to saddle the heirs with a hefty tax bill or subject them to losing a portion of their inheritance: wealth their parents worked hard to acquire. Yet the elected elites want to confiscate hard-earned wealth from the achievers and redistribute it. This is a basic tenet of Marxism.

The right to own property and control it is basic to freedom. The elected elite know this and that’s why they love to find ways to steal property from the populace.

Thomas Jefferson realized this and he wrote:

“To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association — the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”

If it’s not bad enough that the elites are denying to everyone “a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it,” this is just one of the many of President George W. Bush’s tax cuts that expire at the end of 2010. Without Congressional action, 2011 will yield the largest tax increases in U.S. history.

Why should I be worried about taxes after I die? I am more worried about Obama taxes in the here and now, and these are not taxes on the rich and famous as Obama has said. They are inflated and unnecessary taxes on all hard working Americans.

    • slickporsche

Because you do not want the government to get what they do not have coming? What if it was you? Would you want to leave what you had spent a lifetime working for, to those that YOU choose, and not the government? It is not just about you “pal”, it is about the nation as a whole, and what is correct. We have a horribly abusive government! Are you enjoying it? I have my doubts, because without it you would be in better shape financially. You can take that to the bank!

Businesses developed over generations can be wiped out by this theft, which has and will damage the future economy. This has and will affect the here and now. Many business opportunities for a family’s progeny is wiped out, thus prolonging tough economic conditions.

I assume that you are one of those people who want to spend every penny they make and then die when the final penny is spent. And they fell no kinship for the children they spawn. Those are the only ones I know who aren’t concerned about the government taxing something you or a family member has even though they have already taxed it several times before.

When I die I want my wife to be able to live in our house until SHE dies – and then leave the house and property to our children. I don’t want her to have to sell it to pay the government what they say is their share. I’ve already paid both income and sales tax on everything in my home – including my home. Why should she have to pay even more on it just because I die?

Maybe it is time for American Citizens to make a stand. Liberty or death. If we’ve worked for and paid for the property that we hold the deed to, then no other entity has any entitlement to it–plain and simple. We have no other choice but to find candidates on a huge scale, get them into office, HOLD THEM ABSOLUTELY ACCOUNTABLE, and repeal these totalitarian laws that defy the Constitution. These vermin have tied our property to our taxes, and they think that they can simply seize it because of back taxes. Most of these “taxes” are voted in by criminal commissions at the local, county and state level, and the Citizen has no say in what gets signed into law–but your property is held as collateral for the tax debt. I also propose that no one gets to vote who does not own real estate–you want a dog in the fight, you better go buy one. Having a bunch of feral voters with nothing to lose in the fight to take our tax money to support their liberal agenda needs to find an abrupt end.

In answer to Flynn’s comment; To not be worried about taxes after I die is to say I don’t care what happens to my children and/or grandchildren. This smacks of the very attitude that has gotten us in the mess we are currently in…..that is it’s all about me. Get all you can while you are here. I hope that is not what you meant.

    • libertytrain

Good point Jim – I think you’re so correct. While being “good stewards” may mean many things to many people, it also is relevant to what we leave behind to our children and grandchildren to help them along the way. How we live this moment today and the decisions made today, that may only benefit “me me me” in the here and now can, and most likely will, impact generations to come.

    • slickporsche

      WELCOME to the ME generation.

The whole point is that the government should keep its grimy hands off of our money. We had to pay a large chunk of inheritance taxes when my mother passed away in December 2006. She was rolling in her grave since she always said, “those damn crooks in Washington.”

Washington is just a den of thieves…end of story.

    • slickporsche

Just think about that a little deeper Cathy. Without us “enablers” the government would not be able to wage war where ever, send billions to other countries,or to send mercenaries into another country to help overthrow a government that WHO does not like. We really need to clean house in America, so we can have our republic back, like our founders intended. I feel in my heart they never intended it to be overrun by Mulims.

  • John

Let us all remember that the accumulation we intend to leave behind was accumulated AFTER taxes. This, like dividends is double taxation and a horrible way for a free country to operate. No I don’t like to see an accumulation of money to the extent that it is use is dominant but I dislike the death tax worse.

  • slickporsche

We are really the problem with the federal government. We have allowed this all to happen to us.Those of you who voted for this excrement in the white house stabbed the rest of us in back. Not a doubt in my mind. The whole lot of you deserve deportation. Personally I would round you up and line you all against a cement wall.Tatatatatatatat. Enough said?

    • bbstacker

If all this hell comes to fruition, your idea might not be fantasy. Of course, America will forever be changed, and we won’t be in Kansas any more, Toto. But, those criminal commies in government who think they can decide our fate better than we can on our own out of Self-Reliance seem to be incapable of rational thinking. Maybe a good old-fashioned rebellion is the only thing to get them dethroned…bunch of Post Turtles need a rude awakening. Writing letters, faxing and phoning seems to have little effect except to provoke more of their communist onslaught. How a majority of 535 can imagine for more than a nanosecond that they rule 300 million is simply incomprehensible by obliterating the Constitution. They forget that millions took an Oath to Defend the Constitution–not their sorry mortal bones.

  • 45caliber

I’ve got the same problem with property tax.

Basically the government is telling us that NOTHING belongs to us. It is only rented or borrowed from the government who does own all things – including us.

Basically the government is saying that when you die, whatever you might have must be given to them. That means money, possessions, or anything else. You pay a rent, called a property tax, on your land and house. Don’t pay it and see what happens. They repossess it. And it gets harder and harder to get any of the land or other things they have acquired and set aside. Many of the western states has more ‘government’ land than they do private ownership.

We’ll never have FREE Industry as long as Labor Unions are around, &
Uncle Sam gives them a closed shop deal.

I reserve the right to view with utter contempt ANYONE who dares to tell me there is ANYTHING wrong with ‘the free exercise of industry and its fruits.’ This is America. It is NOT lalaland.
It is NOT necessary to have 50 years of experience or a handful of advanced degrees to understand that a thief is a thief – especially if that SOB is ELECTED. America has suffered at the hands of useful idiots and traitors for many years, but only now is that fact becoming apparent to most Americans.
A government THIEF is the WORST thief. Any adult who finds ways to support a government that never hesitates to stoop to “government-approved” theft is no American. Theft is a sin. It is a form of evil. Either stop it, or learn to love it. THINK, America. How can ANYONE enjoy being a slave to a political party or a failed philosophy?
