Federalist Paper #62 Warned Us of Incomprehensible Bills

January 14, 2010 by

The House and Senate have each written healthcare reform bills that are approximately 2,000 pages long. Now they are trying to combine both monstrosities into one Obamacare bill that will pass Democrat muster in both houses of Congress.

The sheer volume of the two bills makes reading them—and therefore understanding them—a daunting task. Combine that with the way they are written, with this section referring to another section that removes a sentence from another section, and reading them becomes almost impossible.

No wonder so many of the elected class in Congress scoff when asked by a few responsible journalists if they have read the bill. They haven’t because they can’t.

Thankfully a few journalists and bloggers have read the two bills and reported on some of the outlandish foolishness they contain. Unfortunately, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claims of openness notwithstanding, knowing what’s being included in the combined bill will be impossible.

That’s because not only will it be long and written in gibberish, it is being done behind closed doors. But of course, that’s the plan. It’s easier to convince Democratic Congressweasles to pass the bill when the ramifications are unknown—or more likely—hidden.

Founder and father of the Constitution James Madison warned us of such shenanigans in Federalist Paper #62 when he wrote: “It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is today, can guess what it will be tomorrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?”

There are thousands of reasons the Obamacare bill must be killed—or if finally passed—repealed or nullified. The obfuscation is just one of them.

Great article and quote. I do believe healthcare needs an overhaul, but not like this. The people and even most of their “so called representatives” are being left out of the loop because of this administration and its lies. The bill should be shot down on that merit alone. Would you sign a contract without reading it? I wouldn’t, and that is exactly what they are expecting everyong to do.

WAIT! By 2011, 1929 will look like a “walk in the Park!”

How are we going to tip the dancers at the nuddy bar without cash?

You’ll be required to ‘swipe’ your CC at the door, with a thumbprint of course. THEN, you will be given a wireless keypad device that you can ‘punch in’ your desired amount relating to a current ‘service employee’. All transactions of course will be monitored by Big Brother and the appropriate ‘fees’ will be levied.

Thank you for your reference to the Federalist paper #62. Because our schools have FAILED to REQUIRE that we learn about the very important, holy, necessary response to God that the forming of this Republic is; we have lost the VALUE of that THAT forming was and is still for us today.
I would like to see educational efforts made by everyday systems to help us all to “brush up” on our lack of the fund of knowledge about the Founders, the orderly, prayerful deliberation and writing of the Founding Documents. Many have indicated books to read on the subject, and there are websites that are providing educational formats to further our awareness and UTILITY for the effective action that can be taken in order to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY! The trick is to get the American public to access these opportunities.

Laura, many people in the US do not yet realize that American education is a monumental FAILURE. Many topics have been left out of our schools. I will never believe this was any accident.
The Founding Fathers were a fountain of wisdom. The morons who have been in charge of government schools (public education) are a disgrace. In effect, government schools are indoctrination centers.
They dumb-down students. Anyone who gets a good education via a public school does so on their own. STOP public education! It is
a PROVEN waste of time, money and lives.

We are all suffering from “The Conspiracy of Ignorance” which is the title of my new book soon to be published.

Believe me, unless people in Congress and theSenate demand that the bill gets redone it is a bunch of gibberish that means 1. No Healthcare is even in it until 2014 however, 2. every individual is going to get taxed to death for when it is in place and guess what, the donkeys will be gone by then and who is left, we as conversatives are left to pay the bill. There won’t be any health care !!!!!!! I’m not really that worried, will do my part in the elections of this year, but if there is not rioting in the streets over the many issues of this administration, I will not be surprised.

To produce such unreadable and un-understandable documents as these elected officials have done is beyond the comprehension of any and all mankind. To have written rules of the game which are unreadable, incomprehension-able and out of this world is an insult to the people whom the rules are written for by those who have written them in the first place. Each congress person should get one whack of the whip for each word that is incomprehensible or that forms an incomprehensible word combination. Vote em all out NOW.

Victor L Barney knows (see above)…and is referring to the Federal Reserve Act (1913) and was ammended in 2006 (see Section 19-Reserve Requirements – all the way at the bottom ) as member banks will have their ‘reserve’ requirements
reduced to as low as 0% for all accounts on October 1, 2011.

More governmental ammendments, changing of the existing to bedazzle…We will be then a nation of 1′s and 0′s…or have’s and have-nots.

    Just one EMP away……

We are a witness to the destruction of the Country so many died for. Trust no one and prepare it will get ugly.

    • bbstacker

J.C. and Jackie are not being mislead by the jackasses as so many either are or pretending to be. Those who deny that we are heading at an exponential pace into an abyss that none of us can imagine are delusional–unless something dramatic happens in November, and even then the scales have already been tipped to result in untold agony. Idiots are in control, or so they think, and still some 45% think this amateur and his circus clowns are going to yield something of a prize, but common sense and simply mathematics tell a fate that just ain’t pretty. Batten down the hatches and hold onto your lugnuts.

More misdirection, obfuscation ,….just like the Internal Revenue Code!!

  • Robin from Indiana

The Health care overhaul is a sham. It’s not about health care at all, but it is about control. Be afraid, be very afraid.

After having medical and dental insurance through my employment for 20+ years I’ve paid the premiums and complained everytime the rates went up. However, we were able to shop around for the best rates which isn’t easy. Now, I got laid off and have to take COBRA insurance which is out of this world outrageously expensive “for those who are UNEMPLOYED”. After COBRA runs out (if I don’t get another job) I WILL be able to shop around too. I won’t be forced into taking something dictated by Obamacare. My question is: What EXACTLY will it take to quash this bill???

Our representatives begged for our votes but once they get in who are they really representing?
