FBI Releases Cheney’s Testimony In Valerie Plame Affair

November 9, 2009 by

FBI releases Cheney's testimony in Valerie Plame affair Newly released details of a May 2004 interview with the FBI show the then-Vice President Dick Cheney repeatedly invoked poor memory when asked about the circumstances of the leakage of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame to the media in 2003.

In fact, during the course of the lengthy interview Cheney is heard using the phrase "I don’t recall" a total of 72 times, according to media reports. The phrase was in reference to any discussions he may have had about Plame with his chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who was ultimately convicted of perjury, obstruction and lying to the FBI about the leak.

The 28-page summary was released after the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, a watchdog group in Washington, sued the government under the Freedom of Information Act.

The organization’s Executive Director Melanie Sloan commented that Cheney’s "near total amnesia regarding his role in this monumental Washington scandal" explains why special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald famously declared that there is "a cloud over the vice president."

Valerie Plame was the wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson who was a critic of the Iraq war. The leaking of her name became the subject of one of the biggest controversies of George W. Bush’s presidency. Libby was the only person convicted in the case, but his sentence was later commuted by President Bush.

Lying treasonous terrorist! Prosecute, convict and execute the traitor!

    • Larry Page

How about considering how it is that Mr. Cheney’s name has recently popped up as being one of the few government officials that along with a handfull of congressional leaders signed off on Mr. Obama’s credentials to allow him to run for president. So where are all of the suppressed documents now Mr. Obama?

      • JeffH

The bottom line is no matter what side you’re on or what anybody thinks, Cheney is a scumbag! That doesn’t create an automatic excuse for Obama’s anti-American behavior.
He had way too much of GW’s ear for me.

        • Winghunter

It’s disgusting to see so many drooling Libiots, still without any clue as to the truth, frothing at the mouth as they throw another temper tantrum.

Richard Armitage outed Plame AFTER she stopped covert ops and it was Joe Wilson who did believe Hussein had WMD’s who also had direct Al Qaeda ties that were living in Iraq. (As if that were the only reasons to take the mass murdering scumbag down!)

“There is now no incentive for Hussein to comply with the inspectors or to refrain from using weapons of mass destruction to defend himself if the United States comes after him. And he will use them; we should be under no illusion about that.” Joseph Wilson, Advisor to John Kerry 2004 Presidential Campaign In a Los Angeles Times editorial: “A ‘Big Cat’ With Nothing to Lose” February 6, 2003; Page B17

BILL MOYERS: President Bush’s recent speech to the American Enterprise Institute, he said, let me quote it to you. “The danger posed by Saddam Hussein and his weapons cannot be ignored or wished away.” You agree with that? JOE WILSON: I agree with that. Sure. BILL MOYERS: “The danger must be confronted.” You agree with that? “We would hope that the Iraqi regime will meet the demands of the United Nations and disarm fully and peacefully. If it does not, we are prepared to disarm Iraq by force. Either way, this danger will be removed. The safety of the American people depends on ending this direct and growing threat.” You agree with that? JOE WILSON: I agree with that. Sure. The President goes on to say in that speech, as he did in the State of the Union Address, is we will liberate Iraq from a brutal dictator. All of which is true. • JeffH

Winghunter, don’t interpret my comment to mean I am a stinkin’ lefty lib. You might as well end my life quickly! I just never liked or trusted Cheney. I don’t trust any politician anymore. By the way, I’m a winghunter also.

          • denniso

Once again, I agree w/ JeffH…Cheny is more than a scumbag though..try mass murderer.I don’t know why JeffH doesn’t like him though..seem like birds of a feather.

        • Jana

Excuse me Jeff, I don’t think Cheney is a scum bag. I think he is a great man of great character, and is being lambasted by the left because they can.

          • denniso

Jana, JeffH is right on this and only this. You are so wrong..sorry.

    • Winghunter

As soon as we can find you, we will.

          YOU!

          • denniso

          • JeffH

            duh!nniso…bring it on coward!

    • Bud

      DEAR FOOL:
      1. Wow, one rarely sees such a string of uninformed name-calling. What flavor was the KoolAid? Too bad it was not a Jim Jones Special.
      2. Richard Armitage worked for Colin Powell at Foggy Bottom (State Department), NOT for Dick Cheney or the White House. As has been revealed since this whole soap opera was orchestrated by the lamestream state-run media, the Special Persecutor knew PRIOR to his “investigation” that Armitage was the leaker.
      3. Therefore, there was nothing to investigate.
      4. Are you not aware that a Republican would be convicted of and receive capital punishment in Washington, D.C. for an alleged jaywalking offense. Libby’s “conviction” was the best the lynch mob in Washington, those of vacant mind such as yourself, could do in that case.

      • denniso

Boy,Oh boy…the repubs had total control of washington..the special prosecuter was a republican…So,the press sent Libby to jail!! VERY FORMIDABLE PRESS we have, isn’t it??

    • denniso

BOB LIVINGSTON..your guidelines suggest civility on this post, yet you’re allowing threatening comments directed at politicians and people commenting here..look ar winghunter and JeffH. I’m not worried for myself, but it certainly doesn’t lend to civility on YOUR site. We all know that there are people w/ loose screws that sometimes act on others demonizing particular people. I suggest you treat threats like you do foul words.

      • JeffH

You accuse us of consiracy theories. Yours are just too laughable. Lock and load and keep the powder dry I always say!

        • denniso

          Pretty tough guy JeffH..i’m shaking!!

          • JeffH

            as you should be…boo!

      • JeffH

duh!nniso. If you want civility, try to come on one post and practice it. You have been the leader of the instigated and agitated comments, bar none!

    • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Oreo

If this was an US citizen perjuring himself or herself. We would be put in the slammer. But since it is someone with a name that is
recognized he will never do time or be charged with anything that
      will give him time.

This is our justice system at work. Politician are very currupt
and always can do what ever they want and get away with it. When
      will this ever end.

  • Susy

WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS NOT CHENEY THAT “LEAKED” THE NAME. IT WAS A COWORKER OF COLIN POWELL. ALSO, HERE NAME AND IDENTY WAS WELL KNOWN AROUND THE PRESS AND “WASHINGTON CIRCLES.” IT WAS ALL A LIBERAL TRYING TO DESTROY FACTOR AS THEY USUALLY DO. AS FOR YOU, FOOTPATROL, GROW UP.

    • denniso

I wonder why Libby went to jail and why Bush had to pardon him? Didn’t Libby work for Cheny? And Cheny couldn’t remember 72 times? He’s a bald face liar who should have gone to jail.

      • Susy

It was Armitage who worked with Colin Powell that leaked. I guess Libby distorted the truth (as liberals say) to the FBI on something.
Correct, Bush tried to investigate or bring attention to F & F several times but Barney Frank (ette) and the Waters gal said there was nothing wrong at all with F & F. Correct, Valerie was NOT an agent as she let the press present her as. JOY AND FOOTPATROL – GROW UP!

    • J.Rowe

This man is a Patriot and has saved your miserable asses for 8 years and now recieves no credit from the liberal press that are looking for anything they can find, or fabrecate, to imbaras the republicans. He seams to be the only one with the balls to stand up and tell it like it is. What next, will you organize a party to piss on his grave when the great man passes?

      • Foolpatrol

Cheney is a lying, draft dodging, terrorist, traitor!

        • Bob from Socal

I think that we can sum all of this up by deciding what the meaning of is is.

          • denniso

Lying about a consensual, adult, sexual encounter cannot even be compared to Cheny’s lies that led to death, destruction, and by the time it’s over,a trillion $$ or so..your tax money at work for you. I guess you don’t mind if you’re also a warmonger like Cheny/Bush.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Foolpatrol would, but then again, he is a fool. His name fits him perfect. Fool.

    • Bud

They will NEVER acknowledge the facts, as facts which do not fit the template do not matter. Valerie Flame-Out was just here in our area at some “university” as part of a “distinguished speaker” series, and even the very subtitle of her book is part of the lie. Something about her “betrayal by the White House.”

Last I heard the State Department is not in the White House (at least not at that time; maybe it is now, in effect, what with all the Fascist Czars). Her “betrayal,” therefore, could NOT have been at the hands of the White House.

  • MTL

Well, that’s fine. I expect that Cheney will “invoke poor memory” on everything else that happened during Bush’s Administration, while in office. If he can’t remember ANYTHING with respect to this huge scandal, he cannot be looked upon to be a speaker for the torture policies, warrantless eavesdropping and especially terrorist activities. Mr. Cheney, if you can’t remember anything about this monumental case that took your assistant Mr. Libby to court and indicted, you can’t be expected to talk about issues surrounding Gitmo Bay closings or anything else during your tenure. That’s the downside of lying: you are no longer a viable person to speak on anything while you were in office.

    • uncle Lar

Who dose that speak for OBAMA???

    • Bud

Of course, all Democrats/liberals have always had perfect memory–always. Have you ever heard the tape of the collection of Bill and Hillary’s “can’t recall”s? If not, you ought to hear it as it’s quite a hoot. If faulty memory is the standard, those two would never see the light of day again.

And then there’s Sandy Bergler who stuck classified papers down his pants and in his socks and stole them from the National Archives. He was just “sloppy,” was the constant refrain from the lamestream state-controlled media. Well, let a Repubican/conservative be “sloppy” and it would be OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

Get your act together and have some consistency!

      • denniso

BUD…whatever Berger did, did anyone die because of it??Did it cost you any money?
To the dumb comments below..we care because if we don’t learn from history how do you suggest we learn or hold lawbreakers accountable??
If someone steals your car, a fairly minor crime, and is not caught for 2 or 3 or 10 yrs, would you dismiss the crime because it’s old news? Most of the blowhards here would want to string the guy up instead.

        • Jana

denniso he didn’t commit any crimes. You leftists just have it in for anyone unless his name is B Hussein Obama. You think the sun and risen and set in this man. How sad and pathetic for you. Your hero does not even know how to act Presidential let alone be the President. He couldn’t even bother to go to Ft. Hood until the following Wed. after the Muslim terrorist attacks. He had to go rest. All he has been doing is campaigning campaigning.
At least Pres. Bush went to see the wounded on Fri. But not your hero, he couldn’t be bothered and he is supposed to be the Commander in Chief.

  • Sam Viviano

    At this point, Who cares?

    • Melvin Hirtzel Sr

      Roger on the; “Who Cares!”
We have more trouble than Cheney ever created with the mess in the Lying WH…

      • Gina

We most certainly do have a big mess in Washington DC now — more than ever before.

      • JeffH

        True!

      • denniso

MELVIN…surely you realize that Cheny was the force behind invading Iraq? It’s not cleaned up yet and the mess of Afghanistan should have been over with 5 yrs ago..Oh, I forgot, Cheny had no power in the Shrub administration, did he?

        • Jana

Oh yes, it was ALL Cheney’s doing. Sure. Congress had nothing to do with it. None of our congress men got up and spoke for invading Iraq. Sure they didn’t. Your memory is as bad as your politics. You and Kerry who “I voted for it before I voted against it” are two peas in a pod. He is a coward and he is a blowhard. Hillary Clinton was all gung ho for going in. Anyone can be against it after they know there were no WMD’s, but everyone was for it at first.

          • denniso

Everyone wasn’t for it..some did vote against war,all Dems. Also, the Bush/Cheny clique lied to congress and the people about the ‘evidence’.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thats all the libs have Sam, is to point the fingers at what has happened in the past. They constantly have to look back, because if they look forward, they realize they have no plans, no course of action, and soon enough, there will be enough time passed by, that they wont be able to point fingers and blame Bush and Cheney, then at that point, they will fully realize, that they have nothing.

      • http://personalliberty.com True Patriot

Mr. Macaroni, I think it’s your memory that’s faulty because if you remember correctly it was Clinton that was blamed for everything during the Bush years. I think it’s time to drop your party politic religion because it is blinding you! When will Bush and Cheney man-up and take any responsibility for their actions during their miserable administration? The Dollar value when they took office was: $1.24 on the World Market and the Budget was in a surplus! So what did these 2 wizards do? Other than take us all on a tour of the Middle East on a wild goose chase that changed the name of it’s mission no less than 4 times! They called it everything but a war on people! Grow up and wake up!

  • http://none Jack Boyle

Mr. Cheney did not break Hillary’s record for” I don’t recall ” during her questioning. I believe in him.

    • denniso

SO YOU BELIEVE IN A WAR CRIMINAL responsible for over 100,000 dead and a million maimed..I suppose you’re a Christian too??

      • JeffH

duh!nniso… it is obvious you are not.

      • Jana

wow denniso, you get more exaggerated each time you write. When you tell the truth you won’t have to remember what you said before.

        • denniso

Jana, you’re confused about the numbers..one set is U.S. dead and maimed..another set is the dead and maimed Iraqi civilians, women, children, old men.

  • Gina

I can not even believe this story, except to say that yes Susy, you are correct that this is all LIEberal bs. It’s amazing that anyone feels that this makes the Bush administration “corrupt”, especially in light of the current administration’s blatant corruption, lies, etc., after they claimed during the campaign to be so above all that, they are even worse than anyone could have imagined.

  • Rai

It is appropriate Cheney is looked as one of the “leading voices” in the Republican Party. Like Cheney many in the Republican Party see themselves above the law and will trample the United States Constitution when it fits their needs. I trust that they remember and apply that we are a nation of laws and not of men.

    • Melvin Hirtzel Sr

Uhh Rai… Hello! Better check your Friends that have HiJacked the Coutnry with their total Socialist agenda…

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

      What country are you from?

      • denniso

You can do it (word removed)…come on, show us your bigotry!

        • denniso

The word removed was Beb…short form of Beberoni..what is wrong w/ that?

    • denniso

Rai..you’re right..Cheny and Bush and most of their henchman thought and still think they are beyond the law..they think that they can bend the law to suit their needs at the time..sleazeballs all!!

      • Jana

no no no denniso, it is your hero Obama that thinks he is above the law.Maybe you think you are too. The law of decency anyway. You are definitley not a gentleman

        • denniso

Jana, i don’t have heroes..except Einstein. I guess you think that JeffH and some of these hatemongers are gentlemen?? I feel like Mother Theresa in comparison!

  • Patricia

I’m tired to the Bush Administration Bashing. Compared to the incompetence in Washington now, the Bush admin was nirvana.

    • denniso

Sorry, but the trash is only starting to pile up on the record of Shrub/Cheny..get used to it and own up to it.

      • Jana

It may just be coming out some of the things that was wrong with the B/C admin. but Obama’s admin. faults are blatant and piling up fast. No having to wait on him.

  • Alan

The “leaker” of the bureaucrat Plame’s name was Richard Armitage. I read later on that Armitage is a long time denizen of beltway and known to be chatty with the press. This explains why the press did not go after him like a pack of baying hounds like they did Cheney. When they realized they might have to after one of their own essentially, they got awfully quiet.
Another manufactured “scandal” which served only to create a distraction like “dancing with the stars”.

    • Winghunter

“…When asked how he knew about Plame, Armitage said he knew because Joe Wilson was “calling everybody” and telling them. And by “everybody” Mr. Armitage certainly meant reporters…”

You really are eyes aren’t you.

        • CindyL

What is this eyes stuff? Keep reading about eyes, this and eyes that. You ask me, and other females if we are eyes. Should I be upset that you are asking? Is it an insult? Guess more research and reading is required. Didn’t care much for MM, and you asked her,she was rude.

now for the good stuff. Senator Demint is proposing a Constitutional amend. for term limits. Put link on another post under Thurmans name, but it is really long.. you can go to Demints website for info.

          • JeffH

MM was way to rude and crude to be eyes.

          • libertytrain

JeffH – I think they are all the same -

          • JeffH

LT, I haven’t let my guard down.

          • CindyL

after reading, Eyes, comments, really don’t know if I should be insulted or complimented. Appears she liked to conservse mainly with Dave H and Jeff. They all used facts and figures to back up each of their points. You can see some frustration when she made a point they didn’t or couldn’t refute. You can see her anger and frustration when everyone on the site put in their two cents, or they refuted her points by just name calling. Really didn’t see where Bob had to strike her comments and other than occasionaly calling someone an idiot, she didn’t make many rude comments. For you to compare me to her, is ok, as she usually presented agruements with facts and wasn’t rude, for you to compare me to MM is without logic. If you are accusing me of being other people, then you might as well include, Smilee, Norm, Billy, Bill, Denis, Fancy, Clay, Constitutionalist, Normal guy, Claire, James, Sue, Lynn, Foolpatrol as I don’t just accept the party line and have the confidence to not be a follower but am a far cry from a liberal. Reviewing my posts, have not been aggressive, have asked questions that shouldn’t have caused anyone distress. Other than an extended conversation with Fed Up, about self control, haven’t had any confrontations. What you probably don’t like is that I lean more towards the Libertarian viewpoint of limited interference from anybody, including the Republican Party in my life. Don’t believe in dumping the present situation on any one person or party. All of the citizens have contributed every time they left incumbents in office, only voted for their own party or tried to take away someones rights, by imposing their beliefs on them. Was hoping that the Republican “Contract with America” back in 1994 was going to be carried out and give us back our country at that time. Power and greed got in the way, and here we are today. The Libertarian party respects everyone, women, gays, blacks, young, old, religious, non-religious. Republicans had the opportunity to put Huckabee, Romney or Ron Paul in office, two of the three wanted a Flat Tax, but instead the Conservatives wanted John and Sarah. The Base had the power/money and made the wrong choice. Listen, really don’t care what you think, as you don’t make comments that can even be discussed. You usually just give a cheerleader comment. Am here to learn what the Libertarians believe, observe how they relay their information and their general attitude about civil rights, in addition to showing my daughter that you can disagree and remain civil. Somewhat impressed with American Joe, Rod the Other, and DaveH. This person Eyes, really got under your skin, must have been the discussion you two got into, so now you are on a conspiracy witch hunt, good luck with that. Will be attending a conference for couple days, so will be unavailable to read your response, just ask one of my other personalities any questions you may have. Look out, their “eyes” are around every corner. Ha, Ha.

          • Jana

Term limits Cindy?? Wonderful, great, I am thrilled beyond words. It will take all of us getting behind him on this, but we need term limits for sure. We need to get the lifetime politco’s out. They should not be allowed to make a career out of being a politician.

        • JeffH

          Libertytrain, I called it again.

        • libertytrain

She really is – just like “eyes” comments when she and her other persona’s were cornered. I just wish eyes didn’t feel the need to create her own fan club – I’d be happy with just her being her own self and the stories about herself that she created for us -

  • Jimmy Youngblood

The White House bunch is so corrupt that, as sad as it is, have to come up with B.S. like this to try & make themselves look good.

  • David Celaschi

As aformer resistered Dem. voter, now registered Rep. voter!Over the years I have lost total respect for both parties,so whom do I support now,Good question. I have come to the conclusion that our for fathers took thiscountry and molded into a country of justice for all. well, our last 70 yrs. our trusted officials have brought this country to it’s present condition which is close to becoming a third world country. Maybe after our cities startlooking like those of Iraq, afganistan, Iran, pakistan, etc.Where you have mobs killing each other, door to door fighting, rocket explosions most ofday and night, and you don’t know if your going to see your kids after they leave for school, maybe then you idiots will get off your worthless butts and take this country just like your founding fathers did. One thing is for sure, and you can bet your kids life on it.Those in charge to day are not going to hand it to you on a silver platter.WAKE UP AMERICA< WE ARE AT WAR RIGHT HERE AND NOW !!!

    • http://www.hcharlescampbell.com H. Charles Campbell, II

I must agree with you David, the sad part is , reading all the posts
the arguement is about “The Party” it should be “What is right for Americans within the Constitution”.We need to replace all the “Post Turtles” in government that we can.

      • G Joseph

Its not about the party its about our freedom. GJ

  • Ken Stuller

I find it interesting that depending on your party affiliation its OK to lie cheat and steal – but when the other party does it you scream bloody murder.

Wake up America! Both sides are lying cheating and stealing – and right in your face – under your noses and you can’t smell the stink? You won’t hold 1/2 of them accountable because – well – because you believe them. It’s like having your mother punch you in the face repeatedly – but hey! its your mother doing it so it must be ok? Let someone you don’t like punch you and its fight on!

You are all a bunch of sheep – following the herd.

Time is running out on both political parties – and on US!

Baaaa! Baaaa! Is all you can say.

    What sheep you all are!

Vice-President Cheney is an honest, intelligent, forthright man. If he says he does not remember, he does not remember. The entire Plume
fiasco during the time of its occurrence was not a priority discussion, and therefore understandably not committed to Cheney’s memory. Things of importance he recalls with clarity.

We are fortunate to have such a super-intelligent man who has devoted so much of his life to public service. Don’t cast unfavorable reflection on this man’s character – he is HONEST.

duh!nniso, clever and rather becoming don’t you think?

    • Foolpatrol

      Put the Meth pipe down!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thank you. Half the libs that write in here to crucify him, if you asked them what they ate last tuesday, they would reply, “I cant recall”. So in lieu of their previous testimonies, does that make them liars also? Hmmm. Its kind of like that. Especially when Richard Armitage is the one that leaked this info.

    • Thurman Marcum

      Pasty,

Dick Cheney honest? Now we can laugh.

    • denniso

Sorry,Patsy..but if you really believe what you just wrote then you’re in trouble and clearly only a biased Repub. Cheny conspired to ruin Plame because her husband,Joe Wilson former ambassador, wrote an article that pointed out the lies that Bush/Cheny were spreading about Saddam Hussein alledgedly trying to obtain nuclear materials for a bomb. That turned out to be a total fabrication by the people who wanted to invade Iraq.It was part of the larger conspiracy by Cheny and others to build the case for invasion. It is a big deal and Cheny should be in jail for it…contrary to being a moral truth teller w/ a flawed memory, he is a cowardly and flatout liar..some guy you want to praise!!

      • DHANDS

What part of “Dick Armatage ousted Plame” don’t you understand?
You truly are extremely gullable. Your exactly what this administration
is hoping for. Dummied up people so they can complete their agenda.
Wake up and find out the truth about what is going on right now and
quite trying to hold on to the past. While you sleep walk-America is
being run by a bunch of socialists who are working toward giving away
our sovereignty and devaluing our dollar! The continued deficit spending
of this administration will bankrupt us. And when China decides that our
IOU’s are no longer any good and wants real assets for what we have borrowed-and this administration starts giving us away-what will your
        spin be then?

        • denniso

OK (word removed), your term…your buddy Dick was asked questions, under oath, by a prosecutor in the repub justice dept, about an ILLEGAL act. He evaded the questions at least 72 times..he’s not stupid and wasn’t senile.. so what was he doing? this ILLEGAL act was connected to sending YOUR country into an illegal invasion that killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of innocent people and cost us a trillion $$ before it’s over..and 4500 U.S. kids killed and 40,000 or so severely injured and maimed. Everyone knows that Cheny was getting back at joe wilson for trying to throw a wrench into Cheny’s war plans. He lied to cover his cowardly ass and Libby took the fall. He lied thru his teeth by not answering truthfully. Evasion, when one has info, is lying!!

          • JeffH

duh!nniso, one constant with your rants are that you always have a built in excuse! Excuses are for losers!

          • JeffH

This comment is intended for all of the lefty libs.

          • Jana

denniso, you keep changing your story. I would not believe you EVER. You are a story teller and not even a very good one at that. That is a nice way of saying you make things up!. Another word starts with a l ends with an r and has ia in the middle. You keep maki8ng up all of these so called numbers of people killed.

          • denniso

Jana, w/ all due respect, it’s true..you need to read before you write.

          • CindyL

Jana, here is a web site I think you will really like. Read the info on the right hand side. http://www.unknownnews.net/casualties.html

It also gives stats on Iraq war. Which I trust as it is an independent site.

    • http://personalliberty.com True Patriot

Patsy, you should change your name to: Naive McReynolds

      • Thurman Marcum

        True Patriot,

Patsy can’t change her name to fat, baldheaded and ignorant, that title belongs to Dick Cheney.

        • JeffH

… and you should have your picture on Megans List!

    • Jana

Thank you Patsy. I agree with you 100%.

  • Larry Hodge

To Patsy: You believe him when he says 72 times that he does not recall?????? I wonder if he remembers that he was Vice President at the time? Does he still recall his name? He Is Honest???????? Grow up lady!!!! I haven’t seen too much evidence of the same actions in our present administration but the BUSH-CHENEY group was full of lies and made no effort to hide it. WE should be out of the Middle East including Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan, and all of the istans as soon as possible. They have been fighting each other for 1,000 years and we should just let them go at it. When we continue to buy oil from them we are supporting their war effort. Get out now!

    • Dale

Larry . . . did it occur to you he might have been asked the same question 71 times . . . probably not!!
If they asked you 72 times about Valerie . . . what would you say??
The problem with most folks is they believe the “Laim Stream Media” . . . who make it up as they go, Progressives All.

      • JeffH

        Good point!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

        The “Drive by media”.

      • denniso

Dale..if he was asked the same question 71 times, the story would have said that..your comment is nonsensical and a weak attempt to stand up for a liar and war criminal. .if he were’nt a coward like the rest of his cronies, you wouldn’t have to make a fool of yourself by this phony defense..my god!!

        • Bud

No, any story would not necessarily have said that at all. Only that 72 (or how many ever) times he couldn’t recall. It would not fit the template for them to tell us that the same question had been asked repeatedly. I’ve been observing the news for more than 50 years and have learned to be a bit discerning.

          • denniso

Bud, irational. And Ive been watching the news for 55yrs but also reading and thinking and I’m actually educated.

          • JeffH

Oh duh!nniso. There you go again bragging about being educated. Based on your comments I question whether you even graduated to middleschool!

          • Jana

denniso, another story. You can read hahahaha. You have been thinking??? I bet it really hurt.

    • G Joseph

You are the one that needs to grow up. If he was doing his job then he shouldn’t have to pay for it now. GJ

    • Thurman Marcum

      larry,

I agree. We should get as soon as possible.

  • s c

Probably, this circus is another example of Washingtonian sour grapes. It makes both parties look retarded, and does nothing to make America better.
I understand it was common knowledge that Palme’s neighbors knew she worked for the CIA. If that’s true, then she has nothing to bitch about. If your neighbors know details like that, then so much for your ‘cover’ or your ‘need’ to run whining to the lamestream media.
I still have the impression that Valerie Plame is no better than Anita Hill. She may have the same problem as Queen Pelosi [am i not better than a mortal?]. What a crock of bs.

  • Mr. E

As an American I salute this patriot for a life time of service to his country. For America’s sake, I hope there is another generation out there just like him, because when all the patriots are gone, all America will have left is the critic.

    • Foolpatrol

Another generation of lying, draft dodging, treasonous, terrorists? Execution is too good for him!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But see, thats all you guys on the left have got. You have to find fault and bad things about these guys, and attack, attack, attack, still to this day, because youve got nothing to offer. If you had anything, anything at all that was viable to bring to the table, you would do it and move on into the future, but you have to live in the past, because you realize at this venture of the game, you have no future, as your getting voted out right and left allready. Bye Bye lib. Keep that finger pointing sharp, because that is all youve got. How you guys gonna blame Bush and Cheney for all your defeats coming up in 2010? How you gonna blame Bush for Obama’s health care fiasco? How you gonna do it.

      • denniso

Foolpatrol is more than correct!!At the least,Cheny and the others should be laughed back into the dark ages where they came from, not allowed in civil society like decent people..He is w/ no doubt a war criminal and coward for not taking responsibility for his crimes. I don’t wish many peoples’ pace makers to fail, but in his case I make an exception.

      • JeffH

        Much like yourself?

        • denniso

Sorry, JeffH, I’m young and healthy.

    • CindyL

Mr. E. my only problems with him, is that he entered the White House with a net worth of 22 million and left with a net worth of 98.8 million. Quite an increase to be made honestly. His association with Enron, Halliburton and KBR made me unhappy at the start of the administration, you know it was that association thing, that frustrates us all.

      • denniso

CindyL…I like most of your posts..but,aren’t you troubled by all the innocents killed and maimed and the trillion $$ wasted in the illegal invasion of Iraq??

        • CindyL

denniso, of course. Remember the Iran-Contra affair, where 11 of 14 Regan staffers went to jail? Regan was at that time my favorite President, very let down by that deal. Guns, drugs and corruption. CIA deeply involved, they certainly don’t have a good record and never have. Feel like we went to war, cuz Cheney wanted to finish off Sadam, which he didn’t get to do during the first war. Bush’s reputation is going to be tarnished as he let Cheney have too much control. Didn’t like him during Bush Sr. administration and didn’t like him during Jr’s. Was worried about his connections to Enron’s CEO,Halliburton, etc., those on this site worried about who Obama hangs out with, know exactly what I mean. Gonna be in trouble now, as I didn’t like our ex V.P., but will always answer questions, honestly.

          • denniso

And isn’t it amazing…Regan, w/ one of the most corrupt administrations in history is the ‘Jesus’ of the Repub party..again, shows how few leaders they have w/ any decent legacy at all.

        • Thurman Marcum

          Denniso,

You are right, that trillion dollars could have been spent over here on social seccurity, medicare, and other things besides that war. They are all crying about social security going broke,it wouldn’t if we stop spending on wars and wasting young lives. It is a disgrace when we elderly people have to rejoin the work force to stay alive and keep our homes. It is too expensive to be world Policemen.Let other countries handle their own affairs. We are always going around telling other nations how to live and imposing our beliefs,in other words we stick our noses in where it don’t belong.

          • Jana

All of this was done by congressmen in back room meetings with wheeling and dealing. That is why we need term limits. These congressmen and women know how to circumvent the normal protocal and get under the table deals done without a whole lot of people knowing what is going on.

  • Dale

I am amazed that this is still an issue!!
Libby went to jail for remembering wrong . . . fact!!
Cheney didn’t remember . . . so what!!! He has more on the ball than the two clowns in the oval office now!!!
Joe Wilson . . . lied about the yellowcake, which was found in Iraq and shipped to Canada . . . no body cared . . . fact!!
Valerie was a member of the office staff . . . not an agent . . . fact!!
While this nonsense went on lieberals had money in the freezer, were robbing Fannie/Freddie and preparing the US housing market for the big crash . . . didn’t Bush and a few Repugs try to stop F & F at least 3 times?

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But Barney Gay Dog Frank was the Oversight Committee Chairman, and he said no investigation was needed, that everything was ok, while Jamie Gorelick and Franklin Raines wrote million dollar bonuses to all their democrat friends like drunken sailors on shore leave. So Barney lied, what did he get? Promoted by the dems.

      • Thurman Marcum

        Beb,

You call Barney Frank a fag. What do you call Dick Cheney’s daughter?

        • libertytrain

          Thurman he said gay?

          • denniso

What about attempting to hold President Obama responsible for the PAST, out of context, words of his FORMER pastor?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But he wasnt and never will be. He gets a free pass because of the color of his skin, and I know and you know it.

And you my cowardly traitorous non-friend are a TROLL! Have you let your kids read any of your childish name calling comments yet? Too ashamed I guess to see “mommy” has the mind of a child!

        • CindyL

denniso, what happened to no name calling?

          • denniso

CindyL made an obviously bigotted remark about Barney Frank..it isn’t name calling to call her on being a bigot for making the slur. If a person isn’t a bigot than she can apologize for the remark…If people make racist or bigotted statements than we have a moral duty to call them on it.

          • denniso

CindyL..I meant, Beberoni made the comment….

          • JeffH

duh!nniso, you wouldn’t know morality if it stared you in the eyes.

      • Jana

Obama is not 8 years old now, and he still associates with that man.

        • denniso

Jana, do you realize that guy never killed anyone??Bush/Cheny murdered 100,000 innocent Iraquis in an illegal war…who still associates w/ those war criminals??

  • barbiebaby

to larry hodge, i totally disagree with you, this man is an honorable man that helped the bush administration safe, if they had not taken the actions, against terrorism, we would of seen the worse we’ve ever seen, they stopped the attack in los angeles before it happened, these people hate america and all it stands for , this adminstration has opened all doors to futher attacked inside america, (just one ft hood,) if they are left to do as they please, we will see them bigger and more distruction, we better fight them there instead of here..his 72 times of i don’t recall, is what all lawyers tell you to say if you don’t remember, or you don’t remember all the facts, don’t incriminate yourself by half of what you remember, more questions arise, i’m sure this incident was the smallest of the problems they were dealing with at this time, something you don’t really think they will deal with years latter…minor minor…this adminstration is just trying to blame all they can on the bush admint, and it’s coming back to kick their butts off…they are liars and fools and america is coming down hard, you better prepare, what’s in the past is not important in sight of our demonic future…

    • Foolpatrol

Yea, invading a sovereign nation with NO responsibility for 9/11 and lining the pockets of his NO BID military contractor cronies was a much bigger issue for Cheney. Prosecute, convict and execute the traitor!

      • Bud

        DEAR FOOL:

Please quit having such a selective memory yourelf.

        B. Hussein Obama did not “merely know a person who allegedly committed an act for which he was never prosecuted when the President was eight years old”. The esteemed Professor Ayers has bragged about what he did; it is not “alleged.” The President is no longer 8 years old and has not been for a while. They had quite a lot of interaction over the years, including a political career launched in the living room of the unrepentant terrorist.

The words of his “FORMER” pastor were hardly out of context, nor were they necessarily in the “PAST.” He has essentially confirmed that his views are the same today. Or are you admitting that his “PAST” views were idiotic and unacceptable (even though they have not changed!)?

Also, could YOU attend and be a member of a church for 20 years and not be aware of extremist views your pastor expressed from the pulpit? That sounds like the current crop of liberal lawyers who cannot seem to comprehend the rather plain language of most of the Constitution. They must have been absent on the days the Constitution was taught, as BHO was absent the days his pastor expressed his extremist views.

        • denniso

You defenders of Cheny are as cowardly as he is..won’t take responsibility for his law breaking and war crimes. And you’re betraying your own bigotry by intentionally including Obama’s middle name when you mention him…of course we already know that the bunch of you are at least bigots,if not worse. This fear and crap about him being a closet Muslim. You do realize that Hitler and his minions were Christian don’t you? Do you then smear all Christians, like Bush??

          • JeffH

duh!nniso, you are the expert on cowards, being one yourself.

  • Ron M

This so called “Scandal” about Valerie, is nothing more than another attempt by the media to make President Bush look like a criminal. FACT is, if you drive into Langley by the front gate, on a daily basis, THEN YOU ARE NOT A COVERT CIA AGENT!!!!How easy is that to figure out. Scooter had nothing to do with “Outing” Valerie and should not have spent 5 minutes in jail. Some of the communist, criminal, scum we have in DC today, needs to get life in prison for Treason and Sedition.

    • Foolpatrol

Dumb Dubya is a CRIMINAL! No help from the media required.

      • A. Vaughn

Well Dubya as stupid as you say he was managed to beat Al Bore and Kerry. You liked to say how dumb he was and it just wasn’t true. I don’t think you can graduate from Harvard business school and be stupid. It just can’t happen. Bore did flunk out of Vanderbilt though, and that is factual you can google it and find out for yourself.

        • denniso

Are you joking??Bush isn’t stupid?? You or any of these other yahoos here could go to any biz school and get a degree,Harvard or not. Biz is not rocket science fella and all you really have to be is not a total moron. So I’ll give him that,he’s just stupid enough to have to have uncle Dickie do the job for him.

          • denniso

I’m not disparaging all biz degrees..only saying that it is not an indicator of great intelligence any more than most degrees are. And a harvard degree in anything does not mean one is intelligent, only that you will probably get a better job because of the brand name.

  • Richard

From the beginning, the entire “leaker” search was a witch hunt. We know now that the special prosecutor was aware from the beginning that the source of the so called leak was that old moderate, Richard Armitage. So why in the sam hill was the government so passionate about hanging Cheney? Apparently he, (Fitzgerald) wanted a big scalp to enhance his resume and he was cheered on by the zealots in Congress and the Media – and the So the charge was changed from the potentially traitorous one of “revealing a CIA spy, (what a laugh that is – Plane was hardly more than an office functionary) to the less harmful “lying to the special prosecutor.” So Libby, who could not recall specifics about the facts, was hung out to dry, and Cheney who recognized the blind determination of a zealous prosecutor, decided tactfully, against incriminating himself – thereby his invasiveness. So all you left wing crazies, go back under your rock. Cheney will never be charged. Libby, the innocent, was rightfully pardoned, and the only thing you can look forward now is the absolute prospect of your “savior” becoming a one term president. Thank God!

    • A. Vaughn

I agree! I think the democrats could run Charlie Manson on their ticket and as long as he was giving everything away they would defend him until the last dime was spent!!!
Cheny is standing up to them and he is so much more competent than Biden could ever be or Obama too for that matter. They don’t like anyone that is smarter than them so they have to try to paint their opponents as idiots. I think if you had an impromtu debate between Biden and Cheney, Biden would show what an idiot he truly is.

      • denniso

Hey, you sound like me and I think you stole my line..I’ve said since 2000 when Bush stole the election that if Hitler or Mussolini ran for prez on the repub ticket, most repubs would vote for them..out of party loyalty. Jesus could be running against them as a Dem and he would lose.

      • Thurman Marcum

        A. Vaughn,

Dick Cheney could run,but as long we keep him a way from guns.He Is George (no brains) Bush’s secret weapon.I think Charlie Manison would be a good running mate for Cheney.Anyone agree or disagree?

        • denniso

Cheny having any presence in the Repub party shows how desparate they are and they have no leaders worth a damn. Cheny’s poll numbers are as close to 0 w/ average Americans as you can get..it’s only the witless far right that gives him any credit at all. Everyone else knows that he is part of the infamous ‘axis of evil’.

    • JeffH

The price you pay to play with the Big Dogs. Who ya gonna call? The back stabbers! Welcome to big time politics.

    • denniso

Richard..’Why did the gov’t want to hang Cheny’…the gov’t you’re decrying was totally controlled by Bush and the Repubs..big,bad gov’t is to blame even when it is owned by your people..amazing!!!

  • A. Vaughn

I don’t even know where to begin. I do find it unbelievable that this thing with Valerie Plame is such a big issue when she wasn’t even an agent and it was common knowledge that she worked for the CIA.
What blows me away is that Sandy Berger got away with walking into the national archives and stoled documents and nothing happened to him!!!!!!! What was that all about we will never know because he destroyed the stuff he took. Bill Clinton had the audacity to laugh and say oh that’s just Sandy like he pulled a high school prank! I won’t forget that and this administration is so enept that I pray every night we can get through 3 more years of these two bafoons without being wiped off the map. No one fears us and they will continue to walk all over us. Now they want us to believe that this isn’t a terrorist act in Fort Hood! What do all of these people have in common? They hate America and they are Islamic, that is plain and simple! We should be profiling like crazy, I am sick of these idiots that think being politically correct is going to keep us safe! Wake up already!

    • http://yahoo.com Sue C

      A Vaugh.

No one is a Buffoon! You have no idea how dangerously evil politics, and rich white Millionaires, Billionaires, and Trillionaires are. But first you should learn to spell, and then make your points clearly. You are a poor man, who has lots of concerns about America, just like millions of other poor people like us, who are victims of all this insanity. I am not looking for someone to blame. I *KNOW someone who knows how to fix the world’s problems. (Yes! We are not the only people who are suffering)! His Name is Elohim! El Shaddai! He is the Jehovah: Jireh, M’Kadesh, Nissi, Rapha, Rohi, Shalom, Shammah, Tsidkenu, and He is our “All-In-All.” He knows how to fix all our problems, if only we will acknowledge HIM. I will do so, Day, and Night, several times, or several dozens of times, until we all get the answer. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly, far above all we could ask or think. Trust HIM, and watch HIM do Great Exploits! I declare these things, in Jesus Name! Amen

      • A. Vaughn

You my friend are a nut case! No need to reply because I won’t be able to respond to your nonsense! Thanks!

        • denniso

Glad to see you’re not a nutcase,in your own mind anyway.

      • JeffH

Sue C.. you said: ” You have no idea how dangerously evil politics, and rich white Millionaires, Billionaires, and Trillionaires are.

        One thing…you are a racist!

  • http://yahoo.com Sue C

Why am I not surprised about The Cheney man? That’s because I am so tickled, right now. You cannot put anything past “SATAN” Have fun with all the new, and more horrible stories you will be hearing about him, for “Anything concealed, shall be Revealed< saith the LORD!"

  • richard wheeler

What we know for sure about Cheney He’s a draft dodging chickenhawk;he gave up his loyal assistant to save himself;he can’t shoot straight;he’s ugly as sin. WHEELER CAPT USMCR

    • A. Vaughn

One thing we know about you is that you are a liberal. You can always tell they go straight to name calling rather than facts.

      • Andrew Woolman

        A. Vaughn – A brain in use would recognize that those are all facts, and not “name calling”. And yes, I’m a Liberal, and also a capitalist and a patriot – like most Liberals.

BTW, holing up in a cabin, with concern only for one’s own self-interests, defines a good survivor – but not a good citizen. This web site is freakin’ weird.

        • A. Vaughn

Hardly facts Andrew! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? You sound like the ex-governor of New Jersey calling his oppenent fat, like that has some relevancy in the matter. Cheney didn’t aim at the man and shoot him as you well know but you want to construe the facts so you can make them derogatory for your purpose. That is also typical of a liberal. I’m not sure what you meant about the staying in a cabin?! No clue!

Andrew..you’re right about the site and the majority of people commenting…but not just weird, don’t forget crazy, dangerous, unpatriotic and some bigots. denniso, you are talking about yourself. You are so funny. You should have put your name down as Mr. Perfect, cause that is what you think you are.

          • denniso

Jana..I’m glad you think I’m funny..that’s part of my job here. Perfect? No, I’m a recovering perfectionist, daily therapy.

Thurm buddy, tell me again how Palin’s tight pants are too revealing.
You have a strange way of making no pint at all.

I had better respect for her,if she had been in her birthday suit. She is all beauty no brains. You can’t say that about the rest of the Repubican Party, they are all ugly and God knows what.Look at Dick Cheney.

          • Jana

Men always say that any woman who is pretty has no brains. That is so old and so lame. You are sexist. Also the way you talk makes you sound like a whoremonger. Get your mind out of the gutter.

      Richard,

Cheney join the FBI(fat, bald headed and ignorant). I wouldn’t push him too far,he may take you hunting.

Hey, you’re connecting bald men to the war criminal!! I protest!!

  • Month June

To all the Foolpatrol and Empty Head Sound offs, you all need a lesson in HISTORY. I mean the true lesson in our History, not what you are fed from the tilted side. From reading your comments you have shown ignorance to its fullest, no facts, just robatic sound bites from the weakest. The weak are the ones, in politics, media, and general public that are destroying our great country. We all would do so much better if those who hate, the true American leaders and our great country, just go and live in Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan or North Korea. Let us continue to prosper in the manner that our fathers before us intended us to do and we can stay strong as we have for the last 220 a so years. We are the most generous country and those who don’t like it and accept it are the ones who we do not need!

  • http://none 50s cars

Suppose you have a high pressure job, similar to VP of the USA. Suppose you let me pick a specific date several years before our interview, and ask you about some converstaion you had with a staffer about some matter that seemed trivial and unimportant at the time. Just how much do you think you’d honestly recall? How about you let me grill you about what you said to your wife a week ago last Tuesday. We’d probably get the same result “HOW IN THELL SHOULD I KNOW???”

  • Lindy

Okay… let’s stop all the name calling and finger pointing. We all should be able to agree that anyone who says “I don’t recall”, “I don’t remember”, “I have no recollection” about important events is at the very least being purposely misleading or what most of us recognize as lying.
Dick Cheney said “I don’t recall” 72 times. Lying? Probably. Afterall, when Alberto Gonzales used the “I don’t recall” / “I don’t remember” defence 64 times in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee in on April 19th, 2007 we were all pretty sure he had committed perjury. It’s interesting that when White House Political Director Sara Taylor was in front of the same Senate Judiciary Committee, she used the “I don’t recall” / “I don’t remember” defence 64 times too! Now… if you declare that Cheney’s 72 declarations of convenient amnesia make him the biggest liar (or victim of unreasonable questioning) you’re wrong. Kyle Sampson, Alberto Gonzales’ Chief of Staff used the “I don’t recall” / “I don’t remember” defence an amazing 122 times when testifying in front of the US Attorney’s scandal or the Domestic Spying scandal (I’d be lying if I told you I remembered who Sampson was lying to).
For those of you keeping score at home, we have Kyle Sampson with 122, Dick Cheney with 72 and Alberto Gonzales in a tie with Sara Taylor at 64.
But in the interest of being “fair and balanced” you’ll notice that I didn’t say the Sampson was in first place or Cheney was in second place. The all-time greatest use of the “not-guilty-by-reason-of-temporary-amnesia” goes to… William Jefferson Clinton. I don’t know (pun intended) how many times he said “I don’t…” because it’s too hard to count. Follow this link for the flow chart of Clinton’s obfuscation during the Monica Lewinsky hearings. http://manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com/manyeyes/visualizations/william-i-dont-recall-jefferson-clin
Let’s not forget that Hillary also used this defence during the Whitewater Hearings too.
Bottom line… no matter what party you support… you know… they’re all liars. Yelling and screaming and calling people names, doesn’t change the fact that the Clintons, Sampson, Cheney, Gonzales et al are all the same… they’re liars. Your guy’s lies are no better than the other guy’s lies… and that’s should be something we can all agree on.

    • denniso

Lindy..good, to a point. I think you’re incorrect in broadbrushing all politicians as equal at lying. There are degrees. And if Clinton responded much like Cheny, you can’t leave out the difference in seriousness of the issue…Bill lied about sex w/ an adult…no one died. Cheny’s lies were connecte tod to an illegal invasion that led to maybe 100,000 innocents and 4500 U.S. kids dead. Your comparison omits that crucial fact, and these cowards supporting the war criminal don’t want to accept it.

      • Lindy

        Hey Denniso…
When I said “they’re all liars”, it wasn’t a broad indictment of ALL politicians… I was just referring in this case to the Clintons, Sampson, Cheney, Gonzales and Taylor. My intention was to use some facts and some humor to stop the partisan nonsense for a moment. I thought we could reduce the issue to a common denominator… the fact that both the Republicans and Democrats have used the “I don’t recall” defence. Once you start allowing for “degrees of lying” you’re back to partisan apologetics.

        • denniso

Lindy, no I didn’t mean degrees of lying. I mean there are degrees of honesty among the political class. But I certainly do mean that it matters what one lies about..a legal affair where no one is killed and a series of lies that lead us into an invasion of a sovereign country that had earlier been our ally and 100,000 or so killed. Most parents lie to their kids about Santa Clause..does that rise to Cheny’s level of seriousness??

          • Lindy

Denniso… I know what you mean. There are lies and there are LIES. Ask anyone what they had for supper last Tuesday and I don’t recall is an acceptable answer. I didn’t put much thought into last Tuesday’s supper therefore my memory of it is vague. However, when you conspire to ruin a person’s reputation because you’re pissed at her husband… it’s much different. Revenge takes forethought and planning and unless you’re pathological you will have some memory of it.
Then again, maybe Dick Cheney really had no recollection of the Plame Affair. He had no recollection of accounting irregularities while he was Halliburton’s CEO and his accounting firm was Arthur Anderson (the people behind Enron). We’re talking about the same Dick Cheney who unsuccessfully lobbied Congress to lift the sanctions against Iraq and then opened a Cayman Island subsidiary so Halliburton could get around US laws to work in Iraq. We’re talking about a man who made $35 million selling his Halliburton stock right before the share price crashed. Why did Halliburton’s stock crash? They were about to be investigated for over-billing the army… while Cheney was CEO. Don’t call this man a patriot. A patriot doesn’t steal from the military. Of course there was the Nigerian Yellow Cake and the mythical weapons of mass destruction which lead to the very real Halliburton war profiteering in Iraq. Does a patriot put US soldiers in harm’s way with no real justification? Dick Cheney has spun so many lies and bent so many rules that the Valerie Plame Affair is such a minor infraction… to him it’s probably as routine as last Tuesday’s supper. Dick Cheney should just ride into the sunset with his millions… fade in obscurity and hope his past doesn’t catch up with him.

          • denniso

VERY GOOD LINDY..now let’s see how the ‘Cheny as patriot’ mob tries to warp the facts you outlined very well, and w/ no name calling! They’ll come up w/ something to attack you on,I’m guessing they’ll dismiss it as old partisan news that doesn’t matter because it’s ‘in the past’. I wonder if some of these people understand that moment by moment, everything is in the past..there’s essentially no present, certainly no future yet,so if we don’t look at and use the past(history) as a tool and to hold people accountable, then what do we have? essentially nothing. Lindy, you must be using all of your fingers to type..if I could use more than 2 I might expound more..except for working 3 jobs, a kid,a spouse and 2 hobbies and keeping the house together..Oh,pardon me, I forgot..Myron says that only conservatives work..I’d better figure out what I’m doing wrong then! Keep trying to inject some sense here LINDY.

        • JeffH

True Lindy. When someone, no matter who or what it is, starts to lie and be successful with a lie, it only festers into more lies. Pretty soon the good liars are able to “look you in the face” and spew their lies with conviction. Cheney isn’t the first and Obama won’t be the last unless we, the people enforce a change for all Americans. This means we must vote out the liars, replace them with people that want to keep America free and fair. Forced health care is a good example of liars at work. They spew that it is for all and won’t “add a dime” to the defeciet or taxes. Given governments track record with failure to deliver the truth, I don’t buy into it. We need health care and government reform, but health care needs to be reformed after we reform our government.

          • CindyL

JeffH, agree, but what happens in 6 years when Medicare goes broke? It will take years to reform this government, as it will take at least 11 years to get the incumbents replaced. Some people will not vote against their party, so they will leave in the incumbent, thus it will take longer. Cheney is everthing that we don’t want our politicians to be, agree with your first statement that he is a Scumbag.

          • JeffH

We are stuck with a system that only the people can fix. Medicare needs an overhaul starting with fraud recovery. Medicare can be fixed, even with the Advantage Plan. Abuse, both by the private sector, and government. Government has failed the people on Medicare and Social Security. The taxpayer has to pay for every government blunder, plain and simple. The people do not need government to bankrupt this country and the people do not need government to run our lives. Obama wants every American to rely on government. That means simply that government will then control our lives.

          • CindyL

Jeff, Senator demint is proposing term limits. Go to his website.

          • Lindy

Calm rational discussion is fun. JeffH… I agree with you on many points! Cheney is not the first liar and won’t be the last. As of right now I’m not convinced that Obama is as accomplished a liar as Cheney, but you’re still correct in saying Obama won’t be the last. I agree… vote out the liars, whether they’re members of your party or not. I agree with you that Health Care needs to be reformed. SO here’s the big question… how would you reform Health Care in a way that everyone would agree on? Please have your response typed, one-side per page double-spaced and ready for next week. I believe there is a 2000 page limit. Good Luck! LOL. But seriously, if this is the way you respond to my posts… I’d be happy to help you.

  • http://none 50s cars

Remember: the word POLITICS is derived from POLY, meaning many, and TICS, meaning blood sucking beings. From time immortal, people have joked, complained, and chaffed about what kind of pond scum politicians seem to have always been. Why then, do we allow them so much power to run our lives? I’m all for term limits–at the end of each term, a poltician has to go get a job for a tax paying entity for twice as long as he was in office. I have not figured out how to deal with the professional staffs in Washington and to about the same degree infest our state capitals, who would then have REAL POWER!!!

  • http://myronjpoltroonian.blogspot.com Myron J. Poltroonian

Just got home from something most “Progressive” posters are unfamiliar with – “Work”. So, hoping I’m not too late, it seems that “Fool[on]Patrol[Parade]” and several others, are vying for the “Compassionate Liberal of the Year” Award, by collectively calling for the demise of a former (but still living) government official. I call for the same fate for the current leaders of two of our three branches of government (the elected branches, that is). As my defense, I present the remarks posted here – “In Toto”. How do you like me now? As for the damn fool who said Hitler (and his minions) was (were) Christian – No, he (and they) was (were) not! Hie thee to a history lesson or two, N’other fools.

    • denniso

Myron..you and other rightwing wackos are the only people who work??Give me an effing break!! What do you think Hitler and his people were? Muslims? What do you think most of the German people who allowed Hitler to do what he did?? Atheists?? They were all good Christians..my point is that most people don’t smear all Christians w/ the stain of Hitler because he was a Christian.
As for the rest of your worthless comment..You people had Bush/Cheny in power for 8 freaking yrs. You had a repub congress in power for 6 of those yrs. Bush and the hapless repubs came into power w/ a country at peace and a budget surplus. They left w/ the world in flames and a collapsed economy and a huge deficit..It’s your turn to shut up and get the hell out of the way and let us fix the mess you helped create by supporting the dangerous idiots and war criminals,Bush/Cheny..blindly, I might add!

    • JeffH

It seems the “country at peace” theory changed a little after an attack against America in NY City around 9/11/2001. I certainly wouldn’t want my president to ignore such an event, but I’m not one of the liberal hack jobs that turns the other cheek to our enemies and attacks good Americans instead. Patriots? NOT!

      • denniso

JeffH..are you so dense or just manipulative that you don’t know that Shrub was in office for nearly 7 months when 9/11 ocurred??It happened under his watch!!There had been warnings..”bin Ladden determined to strike within the U.S.” JeffH, you are such a transparently biased partisan that you’re essentially blind to any truth!!

        • Robert

And you’re not? Give me a break. It wasn’t Bush’s fault or Clinton’s. Or any American. It’s the minority Islamic extremeists who are at fault. But then again, Denniso, it’s a lot easier for you to find fault in us rather than comming to terms with who the real enemy is. Just raise your white flag and tell them that all Americans deserve to be murdered. Including those six year old kids you are so concerned about.

          • denniso

Robert, you know that if 9/11 had happened under Clinton you and your gaggle of Righties would have called for his head and screamed for another impeachment…Bush had warnings and did nothing, which is why some(not me)think that he and Cheny set it up or allowed it to happen to have an excuse to invade Iraq.

          • JeffH

…and duh!nniso accuses us of conspiracy theories. Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the biggest idiot of all…duh!nniso duh!nniso yeaaaa!

          • Jana

            denniso, more fiction from you.
Bush himslef did not have warnings. The CIA AND THE FBI AND other federal agents did, but they weren’t talking to each other at that time. For that matter I’m not sure they are yet. They should be but there is still a lot of work to do in this area.

          • denniso

Bush got morning intel briefings from his people..they had warnings..they didn’t tell Shrub?? come on, wake up! Shrub goes down in history as the biggest fool of a president ever and you want to pat him on the back! Sorry,it shows you have a problem w/ objectivity.

        • Robert

Oh yeah Denniso. I forgot to mention I’m from New York City and was working downtown Wall Street that day. So take your lousy remarks and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. Not a single person outside New York City has a clue. That’s why our city is still on High Alert. We will never forget and it will never happen again to us. But you evidently have forgotten. Bleeding hearts aren’t welcomed in my city. Go visit Nancy and the rest of them cowards.

          • JeffH

Robert , get it right for once. It is Duh!nnis.

          • denniso

I hate to tell you, but you’d better do some research about where you live…NYC is a bastion of liberalism..you’re in the small minority there.

        • JeffH

duh!nniso, Bin Laden was in the sights, dead to rights…but uh oh…Clinton says no….darn, we’re in for it now…9/11 pow was clearly the fault of one William Jefferson Clinton. He may have been responsible for 12/7 also.

          • CindyL
          • Jana

Cindy from your own website it says:

t is here that things get murky. Erwa claims that he offered to hand bin Laden over to the United States. Key American players – President Bill Clinton, then-National Security Adviser Sandy Berger and Director of Counterterrorism Richard Clarke among them – have testified there were no “credible offers” to hand over bin Laden. The 9/11 Commission found “no credible evidence” that Erwa had ever made such an offer. On the other hand, Lawrence Wright, in his Pulitzer Prize-winning “The Looming Tower,” flatly states that Sudan did make such an offer. Wright bases his judgment on an interview with Erwa and notes that those who most prominently deny Erwa’s claims were not in fact present for the meeting

So your website is not conclusive on this matter.

          • CindyL

Jana, We had no grounds for detaining Bin Laden, in 1996. Since we are a Nation of Laws and not men, we could not hold him. The 9/11 commission discounts the Sudanese claims and since they are a known terrorist country, I will believe what a Republican commission searching for the truth has surmised and recorded as fact. We must always adhere to our Constitutional beliefs and never stray from our laws which have held us in good stead for over 200 years.

  • Robert

Amazing that this came out after Congress passed their Health Care Deform Bill. Another example of how this administration and the democrats use diversion tactics to avoid the real issues of the day. Persnally, who cares about this? It’s the past and we all need to move forward. Vote all the bums out in 2010 including republicans and independents and conservatives. Maybe with a fresh start America will have a chance to survive.

    • JeffH

Good comments, but I will add; if anyone needs to be prosecuted for treason, Obama and his Nut House czars complete with the wicked witch of the west(Pelosi) are at the top of my list. Let Robert Gibbs be their defense attorney as he needs to defends them everyday.

      • Robert

Gibbs? Where the hell did he come from? He annoys me everytime he’s speaks. I think he’s refining the Smoke and Mirrors concept. You got their number right.

        • JeffH

Gibbs is nothing more than Obama’s lackey. He’s a wanna be,

          • denniso

Cheneeeey a 5 deferred draft dodger along with dubya you are both guilty. Leave President Obama alone he is trying to fix 8 years of screw ups. You and bushie spent money like drunkin bum’s.

  • Claire

Cheney should be in the clinker right beside Scooter Libby. What happened with Rove? How did he get out of his mess? He is another jerk that got by with lying and cheating. ALL politicans are dishonest. All of them cater to the lobbyists. The insurance companies have contributed to the politicians campaigns. It is so easy to see why some of them want don’t ANY kind of health reform. And the ones that do want health reform are sure being careful not to step on any insurance company’s toes. I just hope they leave Medicare alone. Medicare is good for the elderly and retirees. There is a Republican senator that has suggested “privatizing” Social Security. Good grief, why can’t they leave it alone???!!! Politicans have screwed up the country enough. But it seems they are hellbent to destroy everything. Politicians are to blame for this mess we are in. None of them should be re-elected.

  • James Corbin

I DO NOT WANT GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTHCARE!!! I WOULD RATHER PAY INSURANCE COMPANIES FOR MY INSURANCE THAN TO HAVE THE GOVERNMENT DICTATING TO ME WHAT I CAN OR CANNOT HAVE. MAYBE OUR HEALTH CARE NEEDS A LITTLE OVERHAUL BUT, NOT GOVERNMENT RUN!

  • James Corbin

DENNISO, CLINTON KNEW ABOUT BIN LADDEN, AND HAD A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING HIM BUT HE DIDN’T! OLIE NORTH TOLD THEM ABOUT BIN LEDDEN AND AL GORE MADE FUN OF HIM!!!!

PS BUSH, AND CHENEY DID NOT GO TO WAR BY THEMSELVES— THE DEMS WENT ALONG WITH THEM AND HILLERY WAS ONE OF THEM!

    • denniso

Cheny manipulated the so called evidence for weapons of mass destruction..he manipulated the CIA…the war machine misled and manipulated the media w/ planted stories and ‘experts’ on T.V. Cheny and the Repubs used phony patriotism to attack as unpatriotic anyone who disagreed…It was a genius and evil plan hatched by Cheny and co w/ dumb Bush along for the ride..it worked to near perfection and one day we’ll get the entire story laid out clearly so that even people like you, cheerleaders for war, will shake your head in amazement.

      • Jana

denniso, like you manipulate your words??

        • denniso

He must have caught the same ailment AG gonzo had. Rather than lie…just say you don’t remember. It worked for gonzo.

    • denniso

You’re right..Does anyone know how many in Bush/Cheny were questioned over any number of wrongdoings and used the same ploy?…couldn’t remember. Reminds me of Reagan questioned about the Iran contra illegalities and said he couldn’t remember. Did he have alzheimers already or was he lying too?

  • Merl

Deniso is right about not making threats against each other or others.
