Family Plans Frugal February

DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 7 (UPI) — A California family says it will not be spending money on anything for the entire month of February except fresh milk for their children.

Shelley and Bob Dunning of Davis said they made a final grocery store trip Jan. 31 and will be subsiding mainly on beans, frozen meat and rice during the month of February, and they and their four children will walk everywhere they need to go, KXTV, Sacramento, reported Tuesday.

The couple said the only expense they are planning for is ensuring there is fresh milk in the house for the kids. All other spending will be on hold for the month, they said.

UPI, you did it again. WHAT do your staff writers do to get through a university? Do they go to the Chicago School of Journalistic Duh? It seems that someone at UPI never learned the difference between subsiding and subsistence.
Subsiding doesn’t make any sense, while subsistence DOES. This article is basically good, and most people would benefit from making fewer many trips to a grocery store. However, when one of your writers makes a mistake and still gets it into the news [do you have ANY proofreaders?], it’s obvious that UPI’s staff AND ‘editors’ are probably in the WRONG business.
Your mistake is more than strange, UPI. Supposedly, you have people who can put together sentences and communicate. Kindly mend your ways, UPI. Whoever wrote this article needs to go through remedial English (again?).
I’m assuming that someone on your staff ‘left’
school before graduation. Maybe you can explain it to America. Good luck. I can’t wait to see your next screw-up.
