EU Moves To Control All Plants

The European Union is considering a law that regulates all plants by placing immediate restrictions on vegetables and woodland trees and laying the groundwork to restrict all other plant species in the future.

The psychopathic elites at the EU understand that if they control the food supply, they control the population. The Plant Reproductive Material Law makes it illegal to grow, reproduce or trade any vegetable seed or tree that has not been tested by the newly created EU Plant Variety Agency, which will be tasked with making a listing of “approved plants.”

Following an upheaval by hundreds of thousands of people protesting the possibility of such an Orwellian control agency deciding what foods are approved and making criminals out of farmers who want to use their own seed, the law was amended to:

  • “Permit” home gardeners to swap “unapproved seed” without breaking the law.
  • Allow individuals and small organizations (with fewer than 10 employees) to grow and sell “unapproved seeds.”
  • Establish seedbanks that can grow “unapproved seeds” without breaking the law.

Even with these minor changes it’s still an egregious assault on liberty. Under a similar law, rather than being considered one of the United States’ greatest scientists, George Washington Carver would have been a common criminal and enemy of the state.

The law is designed to give Big Farm organizations like Monsanto, DuPont and and Archer Daniels Midland absolute authority over seeds, limiting the availability of sustainable heirloom seeds and forcing consumers to use genetically modified seeds. I have pointed out how well that is working here, here, here and here.

Understand that if this becomes law in the EU, it’s only a matter of time before the collectivists in the United States begin a similar move here.

Purchase and grow your heirloom seeds now. Then, if you have to you can buy GMO seeds, throw them in the trash, and plant your heirloom seed.

I can’t say I’m surprised at this and Obama will go along with it. When he first took off people were afraid there would be a food shortage. At a press conference a reporter asked Obama about it and said that many people plan on growing their on fruits and vegetables in their back yards as people did during WWII. Obama’s response to that was the the food grew int their back yards would be considered taxable income and they would be required to pay taxes on the food they grew.

Good time to start learning about “guerilla gardening”. Learn to hide your food-plants among flower beds, behind screening, or making them look like weeds like Jerusalem artichokes. Learn to sprout indoors–but stock up on the beans and seeds for sprouting. Plant indoors under flourescents (powered by solar) or south windows. Learn to gather food from your backyard or forest weeds…dandelions, clover, burdock, yellow dock, etc.

Ah, another well researched and honest evaluation of the news, most likely culled from trustworthy sources like “The New American” or Alex Jones’s “Info Wars.com”. So, what have we learned? There is a “newly created EU Plant Variety Agency”(PL)

The EUs Community Plant Variety Office, the office that is proposing these rules was established in 1994. The office is basically the seed patent office, granting intellectual property protection for new plant varieties.(CPVO)

“The European Union is considering a law that regulates all plants by placing immediate restrictions on vegetables and woodland trees and laying the groundwork to restrict all other plant species in the future.”(PL)

Well, there have been directives for decades, but enforcement and administration has grown haphazard.

The aim of the proposal is to replace the existing 12 Directives by one single”
    proposed Regulation.(CPVO)

“Under a similar law, rather than being considered one of the United States’ greatest scientists, George Washington Carver would have been a common criminal and enemy of the state”.(PL)

the Regulation will not to apply to plant reproductive material intended for testing and scientific purposes and intended for breeding (selection) purposes. In addition, it should not apply to material intended to or maintained in gene banks, organisations and networks of ex-situ and in-situ or on farm conservation of genetic resources following national strategies on conservation of genetic resources.(CPVO)

And it goes on and on. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not 100% sold on this idea. I’d feel better if the stated purpose was to restrict the distribution of GMOs, but what I’m seeing here is hardly the threat to mankind you and others on the right seem to be selling.

    • hinni

AH the news is about the office build CPVO build in 1994.
      http://www.cpvo.europa.eu/main/
If you call that new… :)

As I already said above the planter’s breed rights are state laws.
I won’t probably see the date when one directive will be officially announced….

The question about this nonsense news is Cui bono?

What is this obsession Europeans have with totalitarianism, I wonder if it’s a Genetic defect of some sort. We should cut off all immigration from European country’s before it spreads here.

They’re barred from resisting through political correctness.

      • Vigilant

Untrue; they are as concerned as we are about the encroachment of GMO and the resultant environmental hazards attendant thereto. In fact, they have been more vocal about the dangers than we have been.

    • Vigilant

It’s not the European people, it’s big agribusiness calling the shots. And Europeans, like Americans, are protesting this GMO contamination and control. See http://stopthecrop.org/news/european-farming-risk

They can do what ever they please, but in the end The Planet will do what it pleases as well and rid itself of the ” pest ” referred to as humanity! That is something these idiots cannot control. Declaring war on Iraq or Iran is one thing, but declaring war on the Planet is absolutely futile! They do not seem to understand that Nature respects no one, not the poor nor the wealthy, they cannot compete so let them get on with their foolishness. The time to reflect and make amends for their crimes is long past and Nature will be their JUDGE and executioner.

Never seen such a bad propaganda filled with lies and hate. Despite the fact that the EC (not EU) protects their citizens of genetically modified food or dangerous ingredients, you have no law at all to protect consumers… And if you don’t know what you’re talking about, please do the world a favour and shut up.
    http://ec.europa.eu/food/plant/protection/index_en.htm

    • tom

The EU (or EC as you call it) certainly did NOT protect millions of people from eating fast foods adulterated with horse meat did it. A colossal hole in national security via the food chain, yet Brits are the most watched country in the world.

      • hinni

I can recommend you some Belgian horse butchers, once you come to Brussels. As above mentioned Rumanian criminals started to sell this meat across the market.
Funny because the price of horse meat in some countries is even higher than beef… Anyway it takes time for 27 nations to discover such criminal efforts. You can bet on it. The laws for the ingredient lists will be changed soon. If you like horse or not.

I said above something about the incident with slime in the US.
Excuse me it wasn’t green it was pink slime.
This kind of stuff happens in every country.

What is more important is how much does your country protect you from hazardous or dangerous goods or food.
I think, the EC is doing a good job there.

    • jim b

They do teach a little bit about the evolutionary process from which you came… don’t they? I won’t ask you to shut up, I think it is valuable to try and work with those whose life’s learning has been befuddled and misguided.

      • hinni

I expect to read facts, if I don’t see facts and only nonsense I politely ask to shut up. Which I do again. Pls. read sources first, and understand, if that is not possible, I myself don’t post such nonsense. See my argumentations above and below at Kinetic1.

    • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

      Dear hinni,

You write: “Never seen such a bad propaganda filled with lies and hate.” Your sentence either lacks a subject or has an extra word. However, I invite you to point out the “lies and hate” specifically.

You write: “… please do the world a favour and shut up.” Your British spelling of the word “favor” is telling. Are a propagandist for the EU (or the EC, which is an EU agency)?

      Best wishes,
      Bob

      • hinni

Although I learned Oxford English at school, doesn’t mean I”m from the UK. This report is simply not true. Read the Webpage link I posted. And yes I lived in the EC. No, we are not communist and we don’t live in a dictatorship. You tend to write your articles in a way which raises negative emotions and thoughts about over countries. You are telling the people here partial truths in order to get them to believe in your world view.

Most of the American readers don”t really know what it means to live in a “dictatorship” or don’t really know the real meaning of “socialism” and “communism”. As long as you use these propaganda slogans as well as verbs such as “orwellian” or “psychopathic” you don’t really think I should take you seriously?

Btw, we have Eurpean elections as well as country elections, The European commission is besides our governments the government of the EC. These commissioners are appointed by the country governments and acknowledged by the European parliament. I can’t see lunatics there. If so, just don’t vote for the party anymore, it’s as simply as it is.

Last but not least: First of all read all the facts than write in an objective way. This a/m report is nonsense.

        • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear hinni,

I notice you still have not specifically pointed out “lies and hate.” Your comment is nothing more than proof by bald assertion, and therefore fallacious. You have also not denied being a EC propagandist. So you think I should take you seriously?

          Best wishes,
          Bob

          • hinni

First of all: Please tell us the sources? Where are the sources? You have none.

Assertions are coming from your side not from my side.

The planters breeders rights are laws in the member
states of the European Union, so if there would be a change it would have to be approved either by each country or by public decision of each of the 27 member states.

            2) If you can’t read what I already said above you’re just a blind sided person who only wants to read what is pleasant. You only use prejudices and words in a context to arouse negative opinions. Where are your facts?
Statement of the EC, the council, statement of countries of the EU?
Newspaper articles, with sources? Nope. None.

I haven’t seen any news like that on, Euro News, BBC,
French, German or even Swiss television.
There was even NO article in the international newspapers I read regularly.
(Conspiracy, or did you have lunch with Monsieur Hollande or Angie Merkel?)

Furthermore I ask myself what was the main reason to write these allegations? What is your personal purpose? CUI BONO? Except roughing up the broad masses against Europeans, the EU?
Are you sponsored by Monsanto? Or is it just base motives to play with public opinion?

(Obviously it’s easy to play such a game, as you can see it in the comments here. It’s a dangerous game you play with the Biedermaenner in your country.)

            3) For the guys mentioning something about horse meat below…
I remember something about green slimy food additives in hamburger patties in the US…

Rumanian criminals sold horse meat as beef to several places in the EC. As we have a free market inside the EC, it’s difficult to control such things.
In this case it was a reaction of the state governments with their police forces and afterwards the problem has been solved. You can bet that the ingredient lists will be changed soon.
And it might not be alright for you but horse meat is not bad meat and furthermore more expensive than beef…

            When we speak of protection:
Where are the laws in the US about GMOs?
Or going going deeper into topic:
Ever heard of RoHS or WEEE?

What do the Americans do? (except California maybe)

In the US you can’t even be sure that the plastic food containers are not hazardous.

What about pesticides or preservatives in your food that can cause cancer or other illnesses?

Where is your nationwide protection of the consumers? (Pls. don’t tell me it’s the FDA.)

Last but not least: I’m not a member of any European organization but I am a European citizen.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

            Dear hinni,

You write: “First of all: Please tell us the sources? Where are the sources? You have none.” Since you are obviously incompetent and incapable of using search engines, here you go. http://open-seeds.or /bad-seed-law/
            http://www.realseeds.co.uk/seedlaw.html
            http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/health_consumer/pressroom/docs/proposal_aphp_en.pdf

You write: “If you can’t read what I already said above you’re just a blind sided person who only wants to read what is pleasant. You only use prejudices and words in a context to arouse negative opinions. Where are your facts?” I trust you were looking in a mirror as you typed these words.

You write: “I haven’t seen any news like that on, Euro News, BBC, French, German or even Swiss television. There was even NO article in the international newspapers I read regularly.” Surely you jest. Are you really this simple?

You write: “Furthermore I ask myself what was the main reason to write these allegations? What is your personal purpose?” To warn Americans about what is coming as our current regime is a euro-socialist one, if not Marxist.

You write: “Where are the laws in the US about GMOs?” They are non-existent, as I have pointed out before.

You write: “Ever heard of RoHS or WEEE?” No.

You write: “In the US you can’t even be sure that the plastic food containers are not hazardous. What about pesticides or preservatives in your food that can cause cancer or other illnesses?” I have written about it before on this site. I also currently have a book in production about it, so I am very familiar with this subject.

You write: “Where is your nationwide protection of the consumers? (Pls. don’t tell me it’s the FDA.)” We do not have one because of the fascist U.S. system of crony capitalism.

You write: “Last but not least: I’m not a member of any European organization but I am a European citizen.” Then why are you so concerned about what I write for an American audience.

            Best wishes,
            Bob

The EU is nothing more than a socialist (Communist) superstate designed to control every inch of your life in Europe. There is an EU spec for say cucumbers (curve, diameter etc) Only EU spec veg can be sold. The UK bows to the EU on legal matters which is why they cannot deport wanted terrorist and have become a haven for losers, beggars and criminals from all over Europe. Did you know the EU got a Nobel Peace prize….that’s twice they awarded it to the wrong people in so many years.

The ultimate aim of the EU is the EUSSR, a state called EUROPE with no countries only regions (I think the UK is region 13).

EU accounts have NEVER been ratified as they are so corrupt.

Given their predisposition to government subjugation, I can readily accept that the “citizens” of EU countries will bow to their masters. Liberal, progressive , communists never leave a stone unturned in their ever present quest for CONTROL. Letting ANYONE establish control of the food supply is suicidal. Serve the GOVERNMENT or die.
