Double Standards

August 13, 2010 by

In 1995 Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) took to the floor to excoriate then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) over accusations that he had violated ethics laws.

Now look who’s in the hot seat. Waters herself is now headed to a public trial after the House Ethics Committee (now there’s an oxymoron) charged her with violating House rules.

She’s accused of intervening with Federal regulators on behalf of a bank in which she and her husband have substantial investments, and where her husband once served on the board of directors. The bank was one of the weakest to receive funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

Maybe now we’ll find out who Maxine Waters really is.

A classic example of a person that thinks he/she is holier than thou. A person cannot go through life doing what they dang well please, and thinking they can get by with anything just because of “who” they are. A person can get “by” with misdeeds for many, many years, but it eventuallly bites them in the butt. Waters and Rangel are certainly old enough to know better. They should have known they would get “caught.” I am tired of people that pull these crimes. The average person would end up in jail/pay a stiff fine, he/she would certainly be penalized. I say throw the book at Waters and Rangel and throw them out of office. Now. They are a disgrace.

    • Rangerscotty

Well said, and just the way I feel too.

    • Anker Vinje

I believe that they should be checked and removed and controled

    • Christin

      I agree Claire.

But just throwing them out of office would be “too nice.”

They will get a great pension & health care for life on the taxpayers dime.

You and I would lose our job, BUT we would also be dragged into court for a costly law suit, thrown in jail and fined. They should have to lose their darn salary and fabulous health care for LIFE, also!!!

Kick the ruling-class, corrupt bums out and give them stiff penaties like the rest of the hard-working American citizens would have to endure.

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.
The laws should most absolutely apply EQUALLY to ALL American CITIZENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • DaveH

That would be nice, but unlikely. People tend to go easy on their fellow professionals.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

          DaveH,

You’re right about that, especially when the “fellow professionals” are in positions of power.

I don’t quite understand how people in these positions continue getting away with this. Even if it is proven she and Rangel have not “actually” done something illegal or unethical…they have certainly done things that give the appearance of unethical behavior….their actions at the very least give the appearance of conflicts of interest.

As a DoD [mid-level] federal employee, my position requires me to [annually] provide financial data, including real estate and any other investments or business affiliation I may have. The documents clearly [IMO] explain how one’s employment can be modified (my word) or terminated if one’s actions are found to be a conflict of interest or even if the actions simply give the appearance of a conflict of interest.

I can assure you, I would not be afforded a 90-minute “press conference” by medial outlets to dispute any charges brought; nor should they be afforded this. The appearance of a conflict is obvious….as is their arrogance and self-important assumed status.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Dan AZ,

I apologize if this does not post in the correct order; there was no “reply” link.

I’m sure like me, you really could not care less that they are black. Makes me no difference about their race / ethnicity; if they are a human being serving in public office and their actions give the appearance of a conflict of interest….they deserve the harshest legal punishment…which should include but not me limited to kicking their butts out of there…and no eligiblity to run for public office again…period! For those who may say….what about so and so who did the same thing 5-10 yrs ago, etc. Well, you may be right but it’s unlikely we can do anything about most of that….but we can send an unmistakable message and start inflicting the punishment and don’t let up….no matter the color, race, gender!

        • Al Sieber

I agree with you DaveH, and I don’t see any justice.

          • dan az

Sure there is al its called black justice,I think it was part of the oath that the anointed one took before he was elected to the naacp oh my mistake the white house.

      • Martin fereday

Bravo…. they should definately lose the pension just the way we would lose everything for doing a lot less.

    • Cameron

At the risk of being called “racist” I’ll say it looks like the pot was calling the kettle black & got caught w/their pants down. Some people seem to believe that because they “serve” in Congress that they are ABOVE the very laws they write & force upon OTHERS. Hang’em, & hang’em high so maybe it will discourage others from violating the laws (rules) & maybe encourage others to do right.

      • TIME

        Cameron,

You don’t sound raciest to me, and as most here know I am Black as well Hispanic let alone Native American and White too! But what I am is an “AMERICAN” and all the other stuff is long after that fact.

I agree with you 100% on your post, these folks we elect seem to think that they have a differant form of justice, {and in fact they have thus voted themselfs such} over the years.

This is why it is very important that we as a nation band together and “VOTE” out the scum bags. Then repeal all the laws they have placed on us as a Yoke of slavery to the government for the last 100 plus years.

Yes we want “real CHANGE,” we don’t need any more lip service and baby kissing, and dead fish hand shakes.

We want all of our “Freedoms” back, as well we want
“Responsible Advocates” who are working for the Citizens of the United States of America, not the world bankers and George Soro and all his clan of Neo Progressive Marxist.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

Cameron – While I believe your comments “Hang’em, & hang’em high” were meant metaphorically, it won’t surprise me if someone introduces the race card. They probably don’t realize horse thieves used to be hanged and I’m pretty sure they were mostly white. :-)

        • Oh Please…

TIME, I couldn’t have said it better. Also, while I don’t often comment…I have read a number of your posts and have found you to be a very level headed wise person. I enjoy reading what you have to say. I’d like to add also that while behavior such as this has been happening a long time…..it’s at least refreshing to see that the more of the public seems to finally have become more aware and fed up with it.

The BEST thing the current administration has done has been to get people riled up enough to pay attention (see through the lip service) and want to act. Much of the public have too long blindly accepted the sugar-sweet campaign chants of politicians & the creatively worded excuses/deflections of public officials without any further consideration. Too many in our society over time have bought in to the idea that the government should take care of them, that they’ve been ‘suckered in’ to promoting politicians forward simply because (like a child) they liked hearing the isolated ways (lies) they’d be taken care of.

People are now realizing that nothing happens in isolation and that they need to consider the bigger picture of what is best for the country at large (more people thrive if the country as a whole thrives). They are realizing that rather than just hearing/accepting the promises that they need to look deeper, look at the past records/choices politicians have made (what have they promised before, did they act on it or act against it?). They are realizing they need to also consider the large scale impact of impending laws/bills and realizing that while there are MANY important issues, they need to prioritize what is most important to address (for our country) and choose the individual that will address the most pressing issues best. Most of all….people are realizing they need to be diligent in paying attention to these officials after they’ve been voted in and HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE for their actions (which includes scrutinizing the media and digging even deeper than THEIR reports).

This administration has riled up people enough to realize they cannot afford to be complacent anymore. Like you said…we need to stand together, vote them out & and if their replacements follow suit with being scammers…vote them out too! The message may not be heard by them immediately, but if we stay diligent they will eventually!

      • momo

Anybody have a short rope and a tall tree?

      • liz

i could not have said it better myself!

      • Al Sieber

Cameron and Time, in this day and and age, telling the truth is a revolutionary act, keep it coming.

    • EddieW

God! I hope we can get rid of many of these evil people come Nov.!!
If not…I don’t think we shall see another opportunity!! Then we can only get ready for a Dictatorship & Fascism!

      • David

No worries, we won’t let it get that far. The depression they are driving us into will finish them off politically. Unfortunately it’s going to be a very rough road…..our kids have no clue what is coming.

    • Bud in San Antone

What’s the big deal? I’ve known what Maxine Waters is for years.

      • Scott

You and how many others in her district have known she’s a self-serving bigot for how long? Yet she’s still in office. Sheeple.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

          Scott,

          Excellent point!

    • JeffH

      Claire, well said and agreeable.

    • Joe K

      Claire,

You said, speaking of Maxine Waters:A classic example of a person that thinks he/she is holier than thou. A person cannot go through life doing what they dang well please, and thinking they can get by with anything just because of “who” they are.

Claire, could you please name for me a single Democrat Senator, Governor or Representative who does NOT fit that description? I even have one or two liberal relatives in the family who fit that description.

The Republican Party is accuses of being “The Party Of No”. I say the democrats are the party of “Lying, hypocritical, dishonest, crooked, immoral, un-American, anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti free-enterprise, anti-freedom, pro-racial disunity, pro-socialist communist wannabes”

But that’s just me. I wonder if I left anything out?

      • Joe K

Oh yeah, I did leave something out:

The democrats are also the party of anti American sovereignty/Pro United Nations one world dictatorship demagoguery.

        • dan az

          Now thats a mouth full!

          • joe k

Good thing I was typing. I would never have been able to say all that in one breath.

      • Claire

Joe K–Okay, I respect your reply. I will go one step further. I think the vast majority of the politicians that currently hold office in the Congress and the White House think they are holier than thou and they certainly come across as doing what they dang well please. By saying this, I include the Republicans (RINOs) as well as the Democrats. In my estimation, both parties leave a lot to be desired. Both parties have politicians that are greedy, dishonest, immoral, etc. I no longer am tied to either party, I will vote for the person I think is the best of the lot. And with this comment, I hope and pray there is a “best of the lot” to vote for come November and 2012.

      • Christin

The Republicans are the Party of “Hell NO,” we aren’t going to pass those 2000 page bills written by the Appollo Alliance that Kill Jobs, Raise Taxes, Raises the national Deficet / Debt spending spree, and Redistribute the Wealth policies!!!

    • Carole Howell

There are a lot of double standards going on, Maxine Waters, very small potatoes compared with…..say all the lies the American people were told about why we were going to war in Iraq. Read the following and decide which of the 3 you are?

Three basic ways to see this are:

      1) No, he didn’t lie. If you believe that he lied then you are un-American. If you call the president a liar then you should leave the country; you should be ashamed. If you believe that the president is a liar then you are a horribly misinformed and misguided person that has no morals. We should all trust the president and have faith in him and our nation’s leaders.

If this is true then we have a lot of misguided Americans, and a world that is against the rest.

      2) Yes, he lied. On top of that, the entire American system supported the lies; we have all been lied to for years by the American government, but that’s just the reality of life in the modern world. It’s not possible for the government to be honest and open with American citizens for a variety of reasons including national security. We all have to just put our trust in leadership in order to be safe and to be happy because the issues are too complex for the average citizen. National, and world, security depends on secrecy.

If this is true then democracy is dead, as uninformed puppets cannot govern themselves.

      3) Yes, he lied, and the entire system supported his lies. Not just his lies, but lies that have gone on for generations in America, lies told by politicians and businessmen alike. Bush did lie, he cheated, and he stole, and his agenda may not be in the best interests of the American people or the people of the world.

If this is true then what does it say about our system? How did we come to this?

Back in 1926 Gilbert K. Chesterton wrote:

“You may have secret diplomacy; you cannot have secret democracy. Democracy is dead without information. If the people are misinformed about the main facts, we cannot even say that they are voting wrong, but rather that they do not vote at all. At best they are voting about something else; something that does not exist. The old defenders of democracy never dreamed of defending this sort of democracy. They assumed that public affairs would be public. ”
      ____________
So why are public affairs not public? Why are some people above the law? If the laws of this nation do do apply to all equally, then there is no law.

Why do we focus on these petty cases, and not go first to getting the lying murders who took us to war under false pretenses. Now there are the crimes of the century. Besides all our troops who lost their lives in that unnecessary war, how about all the 10s of 1000s that suffer from brain damage? How can you ignore this the plight of our own troops, are their lives so cheap to you. MONEY IS WORTH MORE? But the lives of our men and women are worth nothing? Maxine Waters is just a diversion.

If we really supported our troops and were loyal to them we would go after the men who took us to war based on lies. WAKE UP FOR OUR COUNTRY’S SAKE. Maxine Waters my eye, get the biggest crooks. Stop turning a blind eye to the real problems of this nation.

If Maxine Waters was working for the support of small minority banks in this country of Giant Criminal Banks such as CITIBANK and CHASE, what was her crime in truth. NONE

Can you people actually think for your selves?

      • Al Sieber

Carole Howell, I can think for myself, and you have to get real close to find the truth, we’re a Republic, not a Democracy. ” and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God”….

        • Claire

I believe I think for myself. Plus the fact I do search for the truth. I read your post, considered what you said, but I will still make up my own mind and come to my own conclusions about the matters at hand. And no, I am not a “follower.”

          • kate8

Barbaa Boxer and Diane Feinstein are both guilty of the same thing, only on a much bigger scale (using their postion to funnel money to their husband’s business). It was exposed, but nothing came of it.
And don’t forget that Pelosi exempted her own businesses from the laws and regulations they placed on everyone else.

The fact that Rangle and Waters are “small potatoes” doesn’t mean they are not guilty. The fact that others got by with doing the same thing still doesn’t mean they all should get a free pass. No doubt, this has something to do with why they think they can do it.

Both Waters and Rangle are arrogant socialists, and they also think that their race gives them special protective privilege. They need to suffer the consequences, and then we need to go after the rest of them.

BTW, Boxer, Feinstein, Pelosi and all the rest of them who’ve used their power to their own advantage need to have their misconduct revisited.

          • kate8

Oh, and BTW, what about the fact that Obama himself was the recipient of the largest kickbacks from Fanny and Freddie. And what about his dealings with Tony Rezco.

            The whole fish pond stinks.

          • Christin

kate8 great comments…you are thinking with a level head.
Though the scum on the stagnant pond has grown into a swelling ocean of sharks and garbage.
Out with the corrupt Ruling Class.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        Carole Howell,

Exactly which branch of military service appointed you as it’s advocate? I’m retired military, have family who were in the military (lost a cousin in Viet Nam), still have friends in the military (all branches of service; active duty and reserves/guard status); I work with the military now.

You are not my advocate, so please do not speak for me. If you personally served or are now serving (God forbid) in the military, then you have a right to speak for yourself and yourself only; if you have family who served or is now serving, then at least give them credit for deciding what was best for themselves and for deciding what they wanted to stand for.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        Kate8,

Kudos! Way to hammer that nail in that coffin!

        • Claire

Fed Up Gal & kate8—Good comeback. And oh so true.

    • 45caliber

Rangle and Waters are perfect examples of why we should have term limitations.

  • s c

People like Waters and Rangel (and Obama, Biden, Fwank, Dodd, Pelosi, Reid, Shumer, Byrd, Kennedy, Waxman, Leahy, Wiener, Boxer and so many others) prove that politicians CAN’T be trusted. Granted, you could include Graham, Specter, McCain and others, but for now the main event deals with ‘progressives,’ not ‘Republicans’ or conservatives.
Throw the vermin OUT. Start from scratch. Throw out their huge staffs, too. Hit politicians where it hurts the most, and deny them any chance of having consecutive terms. This is for all of the marbles, people. Do you not yet understand?

    • JeffH

Not only throw them out, but if guilty as charged, they should be stripped of any and all cpmpensory funds, medical and lifetime compensation…except the portion of their own personal monetary contributions.

      • TIME

        Jeff,

Great post and I agree with you 100%.

      • Jeep

Anyone else in America think that JeffH is right? Wait a minute…hmmm…pardon me JeffH I gotta go count about 300mil hands raised supporting you!

        • s c

Jeep, of course he’s right. I can think of a few assorted ways to say ‘good bye’ to people like Rip-off Rangel and Three-faced Maxine, but it’s too soon to hope for complete justice. If I had my way, America would NEVER have any career politicians. How do any of those pathetic slimers rate a retirement from the American people? No criminals. No thugs. No progressives. NEVER AGAIN!

          • Jeep

Easy does it SC, maybe I was trying to be “too cute” with my post. Of course, I agree with JeffH. Take another look, I was trying to inject a little positive cute humor into a positively ugly situation.

          • Bud in San Antone

Come on now, won’t we all feel great paying Al Frankin a pension?

          • TIME

Think; Let them eat cake and off with their heads.

        • Average Joe

Speaking of “Pardon”….even if they were to be tried and convicted…does anyone see a Presidential Pardon on the horizon?….just saying….politics as usual.

Come on, Joe. Don’t throw a wet towel on their Hopes and Dreams, lol.

        JeffH says:
Not only throw them out, but if guilty as charged, they should be stripped of any and all cpmpensory funds, medical and lifetime compensation…except the portion of their own personal monetary contributions
Jeff I agree with that completely. If that was the way it worked most
politicians would be honest and would listen to the American people instead of passing their laws that they think is better for the people.

      • Jim

These vermin do not make personal contributions, we make it for them. They think that the money we earn is theirs and we should be thankful that they let us keep what they do.

      • http://naver Samurai

Right on! Traitors and cowards have earned nothing while serving it, why should they get something when they get kicked out?

      • Claire

JeffH– I agree with you too. They deserve nothing.

      • Al Sieber

JeffH, I agree, but I think you’re being too kind.

      • kate8

JeffH, All of what you said, and serious jail time as well.

Using their positions to garner special deals, to the detriment of the people of America, is criminal. Other people have gone to prison for less: Martha Stewart, the Enron folks, etc. Don’t forget the big Whitewater scandal involving the Clintons. They slithered out of that, too.

They need to be punished to the full extent of the law. When you are in a postion of national “trust”, it is a much bigger crime than those that take place in the private sector, bad as they are.

    • Bob

Don’t forget my favorite weasel Tom Delay. By the way what’s happening with his case?

Well, Maxine “No justice no peace” Waters, the shoe is on the other foot now! NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!

I think Maxine Waters is serving as “the Fall Guy” . She’s being singled out unfairly. EVERYONE CONGRESSMAN WHO VOTED FOR TARP IS GUILTY.

Did anyone read the article on Newt Gingrich in Esquire magazine ? This dude has been married 3 TIMES ! Wife number 1 was his High School geometry teacher, who he started dating when he was 16 !!!! Every time a wife got sick (wife #1 Uterine cancer, Wife # 2 Multiple Sclerosis) he would commit adultery and divorce them. Then he marries the girl he’s cheating with. You want him for President ? He’s the Republican standard for “virtue” ??! He’s a joke !

    • Wanda Murline

No matter what Newt Gingrich did…it does not excute Maxine Waters from philtering the public tax payer’s funds into her and her husband’s bank. Rangel and Waters are the typical liberal…do as I say, don’t do as I do. Don’t listen to what they say, look at what they do. Rangel and Waters have both committed a crime and should be punished for them and not slapped on the wrist and allowed to keep their seats in Congress. It is time to pay the pauper…it is time for them to go as both have been in office since the dinosaurs.

          Gerrymandering!!

      • http://MSN Dr.Doom

These people keep getting elected by the same sort of people they are. They think the working class owes them for the past, present and forever in the future. It’s a certain mind set of eternal racism and generational entitlements for “downtrodden” made permanent by judicial gerrymandering. Real “change” is coming soon, are you ready?

        • David

Right on….it’s worse now than I have ever seen. Somehow our unbiased pres & company has accelerated it exponentially. Wellfare be gone. If I was pres I would give them 1 year to get their house in order, after that the money dries up. Oh yea, if you can’t afford to feed your children then no more incentives for you to keep producing…which has exacerbated the problem.

Maxine is a piece of trash….throw her and Rangel out!

          • Christin

David, did you hear Rangle’s pitiful crybaby speech on the news.

It was like he was hoping he’d just get thrown out and have all his six figure salary/pension and elitist health care for LIFE.

Who would prosecute Rangle and Waters in “a court of Law by their peers”… would that be US Americans or the corrupt Congress??

    • http://none John Detwiler

Poor Victor Leban. Here we have another brainwashed leftist who thinks a crooked politician stealing from the taxpayer to achieve their own goal should not be concidered for fraud, but thinks someone who marries more than once a cheat and fornicator. The only comparison between the two is simply a leftist excuse for a crooked Democrat who was caught with her finger in the jar.

      • DaveH

Viktor is no “leftist”. He does have the irritating habit (to others, not me) of speaking his mind.
We have lost our Freedom to both major parties. For sure, I can tolerate Republicans far more than Democrats, but I wouldn’t vote for either unless no Libertarian candidates were available and then, maybe, I would vote for a Republican.

        • Al Sieber

DaveH, I agree with you about Viktor also, “Newts” a real gem, and a neocon.

We’re not atlking about Newt. Stay on subject, please.

        • eddie47d

Obviously Newt was mentioned in the original article so that makes him part of the conversation. I think both apples are rotten and Maxine certainly doesn’t deserve a free pass.

    • Jim

Leave it to a Liberal to try to change the game. You attack Newt for his personal mistakes, we are talking about Waters’ criminal behavior. You liberals attacked Newt for writting a text book and wanted his head, but Pelosi writes one and uses a tax payer funded air craft to go on a book tour. Joseph Gobbles would be proud of all of the Liberals in the Democratic Party and in the Liberal Media. You have been good students at manipulating lies into what you want people to accept as truth. I hope you have your tickets to Chaves Land. After November you are no longer welcome here.

      • Jim

…..as a matter of fact you aren’t welcome here now! Please leave and don’t come back.

      • DaveH

But, Newt is a serious contender for the 2012 presidency. Shouldn’t we be discussing anybody that might be messing up our Freedom?
Viktor is a Conservative, and I can’t understand why you guys are all over your fellow Conservative just because he says something you don’t agree with.
If we don’t stick together in our quest for Freedom, then we have no chance to achieve it.

        • JeffH

I certainly hope Newt doesn’t run. I like the guy but he’s got baggage and I’m afraid of the same old “lesser of two evils”. He is doing us a great service as a constitutionaly minded voice in America.

    • http://none JCWarrior

C’mon Viktor, if you’re going to slam the guy, do it right. He was charged with 84 ethics violations by the dummycrats – oops, he was cleared of all but one and paid a $300,000 fine – the cost of the investigation.

    • GDW

Maybe Newt is a cad but at least he didn’t do his divorces on the taxpayers dollar, the progressives do everything, including lining their pockets, on the taxpayers dollar.

Newt Gingrich will not be president…he has too much baggage. We want new blood with new ideas and someone that will sign the Contract with America to represent us and be a “Public Servant”, not a corrupt, elists crook. We are tired of the same ole, same ole…there is someone out there that will come to light before 2012…you will see that it will not be the same old dodads that have been around forever. Hell, by then, we may have an Independent for President. Keep the faith, we will persevere.

The bible says it best, you have to go through the fire. The best person for a job is one who has failed in the past and learned from the mistakes. True, one who continues to make mistakes and not learn is an example of insanity. That is what we have now keep doing the same thing, keep spending, keep taxing keep going on vacation and blame the ones not in power for your failures. I would vote for someone that admits making mistakes and has learned from them. The liar is the one that says he/she never made mistakes and will bring real change.

Wanda, that’s exactly why I was pulling for Sarah Palin. No wonder the pols have managed to pull so much wool over our eyes.

        • Coservative at Birth

This is exactly why we must get involved at the grass roots level. Get to know your Local, State, and National Representatives. Make the time or loose your freedoms. We need to get the Lawyers out of power that write the laws filled with convolution, so that no one else can understand them, or loose our liberty.

        • DaveH

The problem is that we have let Government encroach into too much of our private lives. So, they must sell themselves as being intelligent enough to accomplish making us all happy. No human being has that much intelligence, so they lie. We are going to continue being in turmoil until we wake to that fact, and start voting for people that will get the Government out of our personal choices, whether those choices are good ones or bad ones. People learn from their mistakes, unless somebody is lording over them taking their choices away. Then they purposely repeat those mistakes to spite their would-be controllers. The most well-behaved society is a Free society.

The entire govermental system is parasitic, full of parasites, breeding more parasites. They are the entitlement parasites, Marxist parasites, Progressive Liberal parasites, they are on both sides of the ailes in both houses and in the white house.

These parasites are like bed bugs, they feed on the citizens when they are asleep to what is happening, inject a soothing mixture media that numbs the mind and distracts they American citizen from the pain, then they feed, sucking up money, power and control eventually killing the host – We the People, the contitution, the economy and everything else.

When the light is on them, they hide again, only coming out when the host goes to sleep again.

    Term limits now.

        • recovery

Funny thing about their salary, they decide what they make but they earn millions from other sources. Are there any representatives that actually need their salary? They are compensated by expenses and kickbacks among many other hidden ways to get money. Do you know of any that are not or don’t become millionaires during their government employment? The salary is just a deception to make us believe they live on it.

          • Cameron

When LBJ from TX & Bennie Thompson from MS (& a host of others I’m sure) were first elected to Congress they didn’t have enough money to buy bus fare to DC. How in the Hell did they get that rich off of their salaries?

  • Doug

They are all crooked. The longer they stay in Washington the worse they become. It is time for term limits which is a concept the founders considered when they passed the Articles of Confederation. I am not sure why that was left out of the constitution, but it needs to be done. This is the only way that control will be restored. It will also save a ton of money since they are serving for a limited time no need for a lavish retirement or health plan. It also seems the longer they remain the bigger their staff becomes, which of course cost the taxpayers. The other issue that would help stop corruption is a flat tax since many of the issues of corruption seem to deal with giving tax favors to certain people.

    • http://kd6vkj@yahoo.com Saul

      Doug
I have to agree with you on that term limits and let them have to use the same health care program that they pushed on us and see where thats gets them. after all they did violate the 25, 26, and 27 amendments when they passed that bill. what where they thinking all thats is going to lead to is the extermanation of a lot of people. also let waters go to jail and see how long she lasts that would be an intresting experiment.

    • Cameron

How many other professions do you know will allow 80-100-yr-old doddering Alzheimer’s patients to wield such power & be venerated while they get pushed around in a wheelchair/oxygen tanks attached to the backs? Other US government jobs have mandatory retirement ages, WHY NOT CONGRESS, unless they are above the law?

    • DaveH

Term limits will accomplish nothing more than making lame ducks out of every Congressman in their last term. Imagine if the current crop of Democrats were all out this year? The Cap and Tax bill would have passed just like the Healthcare Bill did. They would have had nothing to lose. It would have been even easier for Obama to ply them with his “Chicago Way”.
With term limits many of the voters would be deluded into thinking our Freedom was protected, making them even lazier about investigating their choices for Representatives than they are now.
There is no substitute for an educated electorate.

      • GregS

Excellent point, DaveH! Not only would it make lame ducks out of every Congressman in his/her last year, but it would also force out even the really good Congressmen and Senators who actually do their jobs. Those types of people are very hard to find. As you said, the best implementation of term limits is the voting booth, along with an educated electorate, which REGULARLY exercises its right to vote. Instead of physically limiting the number of terms of office, there needs to be more transparancy of what’s going on in Congress, and ALL legislation should be limited in complexity and made readily available to the public. This type of exposure would give voters more of an incentive to go out and vote.

I do, however, feel that the six-year term for the Senate is far too long. It should be only two years, like that for the House, so that the voters can fire the bad ones, before they do too much damage.

        • DaveH

Perhaps six years is too long, but it would require a Constitutional Amendment to change that.

          • GregS

Then so be it. Perhaps a Constitutional Convention would be the best way to accomplish that (see the discussion with Allan below), since the members of Congress would probably be unwilling to impose stricter rules on themselves. What are your thoughts on that?

      • Steve

A Constitutional Convention would be a slipery slope with the group of socialist/Marxist opressors we have in there now. When a C.C. is
opened they are allowed to address, vote on, and change anything that is brought up. They address the original issue first, and then it’s open season for any other issues. In our present political climate I would be afraid we would lose our first and second amendments, & maybe several of them. This liberal group is so brazen and arrogant that we could lose every freedom the Constitution gives us.

I agree with everyones assessments of term limits. It is a waste for the reasons you all stated. We’ve got to do it with the ballot box.

    • Allan

Term limits and congressional rules changes are vital. The career politician is a cancer to our future, and is robbing the taxpayer blind.

      • GregS

Allan, although I disagree with you on term limits (See the discussion between DaveH and me, above), I do agree that Congressional rules changes are needed, not only for pensions and health plans, but for the length of Congressional terms as well. Are you the same Allan who brought up the idea (in a previous post back in June) of having a Constitutional Convention to do this? Here’s the link back to that discussion:

        http://www.personalliberty.com/news/louisiana-passes-new-law-defying-federal-healthcare-overhaul-2-19851864/#comment-156570

  • http://pegmg@aol.com Peggy G.

Maxine Waters is a crook, but so is Nancy Pelosi. Didn’t her husband’s tuna company benefit financially from legislation Pelosi got passed? Our Congress is loaded with self-serving incompetents and crooks, which is why we need to clean House! I can’t wait for November to get here!

By the own Sop (Standrads and Operations Prcedures) thet are supposed to lose their pensions for defauding the government of the USA. The tax cheats have defrauded the government with felony amounts, but never even got whacked with high penalities that xitizens do. Must less the stealing and influnce pedeling charges. It took me over a year of continually contacting the Senators and Reps offices and writing until I finally got a hard copy. Besides their pensions they still get SS along with health care for themselves and family at our expense. Beltway bastards protect each other under the frat boy club attitatude, along with the eleitist beleif, they are above the rules. What strikes me like a stone to the head is how blatant the many double standard scandals have become yet these politicians seem to shed the trouble like water off a ducks back. I can think of at least a few dozen scandals involving the most blatant disregard for the position of a public servant that it makes me strain to believe there is a decent, hard-working person that will serve the people and be transparent into a decent lifestyle with honest virtues. This is one trait about Glenn Beck i appreciate. I have no problem with someone admitting a problem and working toward reform, but to stand on the floor and admonish one person for a violation you are guilty of is not a position any political leader should find themselves in. It makes me believe they have weak minds and and unfettered addictive tendencies.

Notice how Waters saunters up to the podium. Even way back then she thought she was “all that”. She’s displaying to everyone that she’s out to kick some a$$. “Look out, here I come!! I’m Maxine Waters!”

Then comes the tough talk and saunter back to her seat (“Maxine says, ‘Take that!’ Woo!”). Classic! Typical of someone trying to deflect attention away from her own misdeeds.

It is a given that corruption is rampant in federal government, and that November is a very important time for federal politics. But, everyone must be wary of who we replace the present regime with, so that we don’t have the same situation. We need some conservatism in politics to get us out of this financial chasm that we are presently in.

    • Wanda Murline

What every state in the US needs is what is a “RECALL” law on the books. What that means is if you voted someone in office and after one year, that person is not representing you and you get x amount of signatures…you can recall (fire) that person. Another is then appointed until a new election at the next election cycle, which would be one year as we have elections for Senators and Congressmen every two years. Recall the SOB’s until you get someone who will do what his employer (the American Citizen) tells him to do, not the other way around. Some 13 states have this amendment to their Constitution, and after November elections, I am hoping we in Texas will have it also.

      • marvin

Wanda Murline i agree on the recall i think california has that law, a congress person is ever 2 years a senator is ever 6 years and the pres is 4 years

I think they are all a bunch of crooks and we need to get rid of the lot start over so to say. put them all on their butts and start with a whole new congress and senate.

    • Claire

jopa–You are calling me judgmental when I posted that I would never vote for Gingrich for President? You are saying I am casting stones? I am not holier than thou–I have a right to say what I want and I will. You and everyone else are doing the same thing. It is called freedom of speech. And yes, I clearly remember Edwards, Ensign, Vetter, Sanford, Clinton, Delay, and the rest of the idiots that couldn’t keep their pants on.

I don’t remember any charges against Delay regarding his pants. All of the charges made were without merit, which is why you haven’t heard anymore about the case.

        • Claire

Conservative at Birth–Regarding Delay, I included his name because jopa had it in his post, plus I added a couple of names. True, I do not think the “pants on” issue concerned Delay and I shouldn’t have included him in my post. Delay’s problems WERE different.

I couldn’t agree more Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel should be expelled from Congress and stripped of all benefits. We should be pushing for term limits and to do away with retirements from Congress. Our forefathers did not have this in mind, this should not be a career if we truly want good government then we need to get rid of career politicians. We have let them do this without our consent because we became to complacent and now since this new administration we are seeing what this does to all of us. Obammacare what a joke and it is going to cost all of us, why did this bill have to be 2000 plus pages well think about it if it 2000 pages plus no one will read it. These folks in congress need a wake up call and that is what we can do in NOV. Term limits and no pay raises unless we the people approve it.!

    • Cameron

Look how few pages the Constitution took to write, & how few people were involved. To make a long story short, today’s politicians in DC write looooooong bills because “If you can’t dazzle’em w/brilliance, baffle’em w/ BS.

This should be the mantra- “If they are in, throw them out” Until we get some workable ethics rules, until rotten, lawbreaking politicians and their minions start serving serious jail time in serious jails, until the President, The supreme court, congress and all their staffs are on the very same health care plan as all of the rest of us, until corporate money for campaign contributions and other bribes and illegal enablers are done away with, until we have a commander in chief who knows what the military is for and how to use it, until taxation is fair and equitable for all and low enough to reduce our bloated and non-representative federal government from an elephant to a mouse, until no corporation has any more rights than any individual, until no corporation is allowed to walk away from its obligations, until the RNC & DNC either represent the interests of their constituents or are supplanted by viable parties that do, until the Republic and the Constitution are restored, and the current roads to Socialism and Fascism are destroyed forever…”If they are in, THROW THEM OUT!”

  • Patriot007

Maxine Waters is a person who suffers from an under developed and socially inferior emotion complex. Racism is her only focus and as all emotional babies won’t and can’t accept responsibility for her dishonesty. She’d rather get the national group of emotional babies to rally behind her false cries of racism. “They called her a name, everyone heard it was unethical behavior, she heard “racism”. Inside her childish head she still wimpers and asks,”Is it cause I’m Black?” What an idiot. must be the Nimrods that put her there suffer from the same cry baby state of emotional development. Hey Maxine….wake up, it’s because you think you can abuse power for personal gain and for that of your immediate family! I can see the hatred in your heart toward non-blacks, it oozes like a festering puss fill boil everytime you open your mouth. Like a person who eats lots of raw garlic, you constantly belch this hatred toward the America that made it possible for you and others to succeed in life. I’m Native American. My ancestors were mistreated but, unlike you, I don’t harbor your racist victim mental illness. How sad for our country that you demonstrate how NOT to be a successful Black American!

Term limits would have prevented both of these dishonest people from being in office so long they forgot who they were. Yes, they should be dismissed and lose all retirement benefits from the government. If we followed these two simple steps we would clean up an great deal of Washington.

    Subject:Perspective!!

Three Cheers for ObamaThis is so well put, I’m going to carry it around in my
back pocket. It’s all in a NUT Shell
BEFORE YOU THINK I’VE FLIPPED MY LID, READ THE ENTIRE COLUMN!
    Three Cheers for Obama!
That is right – I will say it. … . THANK GOD FOR OBAMA!

He destroyed the Clinton Political Machine – Driving a stake thru the Heart of
Hillary’s Presidential aspirations–something no Republican was ever able to
do. Remember when a Hillary Presidency scared the daylights out of you!

He killed off the Kennedy Dynasty – No more Kennedys trolling Washington looking
for booze and women wanting rides home. American women and freedom are safer
    tonight!

He is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes!
Dennis Moore had never lost a race – quit
Evan Bayh had never lost a race – quit
Byron Dorgan – had never lost a race – quit
Harry Reid – bid for re-election doesn’t look good
These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has
destroyed! By the end of 2010 dozens more will be!

In December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election
cycles they had picked up 14 senate seats and 52 house seats.
The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican
    Party.

In one year Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the house, if
not the senate back to the Republicans.

He has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are.
Every generation seems to need to relearn the lesson on why they should never
    actually put liberals in charge.

He is bringing home the lesson very well!
Liberals tax, borrow and spend – check
Liberals won’t bring themselves to protect America – check
Liberals want to take over the economy – check
Liberals think they know what is best for everyone – check
Liberals aren’t happy till they are running YOUR life – check

    He has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan;

In one year he rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the
streets millions of Freedom Loving Americans.

Name me one other time in your life that you saw your friends and neighbors this
interested in taking back America !

In all honesty one year ago I was more afraid than I had ever been in my life.
Not of the economy, but of the direction our country was going. I thought
Americans had forgotten what this country was all about. My neighbors, friends,
strangers proved to me that my lack of confidence of the greatness and wisdom of
the American people was flat out wrong.

When the American People wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool
    them!

Obama woke up these Great Americans.
Again I want say Thank you Obama!

So, Lets Recap “2009″………what a year! WOW!!!
    1. The American people inaugurate a half-Arab president with a total of 142 days
experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt state (city) in
America whose governors have been ousted from office. The President’s first
official act is to order the close of Gitmo and make sure terrorist’s civil
rights are not violated. (Honest mistake?)

    2. The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm a black Attorney General, Eric Holder,
whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists. (An
    honest mistake?)

    3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, has absolutely no experience.

    4. We got the second most corrupt American woman (Pelosi is #1) as Secretary of
State; bought and paid for. (You can put lipstick on a pig, but it still
    stinks!)

    5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who did not properly file his own
taxes for 12 years. (He misspoke!)

    6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges.
    Another honest mistake???)

    7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under
    charges. (Hmmm… Another screw-up?)

    8. A Labor Secretary nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct.
Ok, maybe this person was just plain stupid.)

    9. A Secretary Health and Human Services nominee (Tom Daschle) who withdrew
under charges of cheating on his taxes. (I’m running out of excuses for these
    idiots!!)

    10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute campaign
statement that no lobbyists would be appointed.
Dear God, I am getting a headache!)

All this occurred just during the first three weeks. . . But who’s counting?

America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges; Barry, Nancy and Harry and
they are still trying to define stimulus…”it’s spending!!!”

    The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that’s $800 billion) pork-loaded
spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars ($13
per week), making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated], that you want to
run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV!

    Only with the Liberals…
    Pray for our country.
Here’s the good news though – Obama took Air Force One to Denver to sign the
stimulus package, wasting as much as 10,000 gallons of fuel OR 24 JOBS FOR ONE
    YEAR.

    Don’t you just love hypocrites?
Obama went to the International Olympic Committee to have them choose Chicago
for a host city, he failed.

Obama went to Copenhagen to lecture them on global warming, he failed.
Obama went to New Jersey to promote the Democratic candidate for governor, he
    failed.

Obama went to Virginia to promote the Democratic candidate for governor, he
    failed.

Obama went to Massachusetts to promote the Democratic candidate for senator, he
    failed.

Speaking of praying, Obama has now been president for a full year and yet he &
(first lady) Michelle, the Christian family they claim to be, have not
    attended church since the inauguration.

Obama is the 1st president in history who did not attend any Christmas religious
    observance.
    He must miss Reverend Wright!
And finally, he is the 1st president to remain on vacation after a terrorist
    attack.
In these times ‘I’ll keep my God, my freedom, my gun and my money.
Anyone that supports this insanity can keep “THE CHANGE”.
Just Facts………………………….yet I’m sure those on the Left will say
this is no big deal!!!!!!!Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.

It’s learning to dance in the rain.

I have lived in CA all my life and have known of maxine Waters for years. She is the epitome of the extreme left; they have no common sense on any issue, thinks the public is ignorant and the only way she thinks she can win a debate is to shout down the opposition. She is one of the most rude politicians I know and she deserves to be ousted if found guilty.

I used to watch Joe Biden in hearings and think, what a clown, how did he ever get elected. I think Americans are so entertainment oriented that they tolerate their clowns, just like reprobates on reality shows.

Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangels both need to be in Public Ethics Court for their underhanded wrongs – just let a Republican screw up in Ethics and he is tossed out immediately – but take a lying fibbing Democrat and Pelosi the HUN is kissing them lower than the belt line for their stinking deeds! It is time to give them both a jail term for what they did wrong – it is ILLEGAL! So be it!

Termm limit should be the total of 8 years of government service with mandatory for ever year served they have to stay out 2. So if the want to be a Senator, they would serve one term, and one term as a representative and sit out 16 years before being able to come back to Congress. Or they can serve 4-2 year terms, and rgen sit out for 16 years. Also they cann’t be a lobbyist or involve in government affairs on their time out of office. More turm over and get rid of the union like seniority. It would keep idoits making Congress a life time job with more perks than a whore house. States should provide the houses for both sen. and repres. and make the houses one bed room and a smmall bathroom with an effiecy kitchen, more work less parting.

  • Joe K

I do not think we should send the corrupt democrat politicians to Jail. We would have to continue feeding and housing them, and providing health care for them. Socialist democrats must have to take special education classes on how to be corrupt, double speak, don’t pay your taxes for years and peddle influnce amoung other special classes. The more abhorrant and marxist in behavior, the higher they climb in statue in the communist democrat party. If your a natural in shake downs, murder, running a postitution establishment or have a procivity for acting pious and being picked on by the Christian right, you will go along way in the National Socialist Union Democrat Party. Just observe their adoration of the marxist muslim moron, that they salivate over. Yes every time a socialist democrat wants a law created, there is a double standrad in many places. Why does the muslims get an exemption from having to be required to purchase or be under the manadorty health care program? Does it have anything to do with the muslims in the with house and marxist radicals who bastardized our nation? Hope you taxpayers enjoy providing never ending vacation trips for the Onumnutts and the group of marxist friends.

And now for todays story, GOP candidate Frank Guinta of New Hampshire needed some more cash for his campaign and all of a sudden he came up with two bank accounts he forgot to mention on his disclosure forms. One contained $500,000 the other $250,000 and that kinda took the ethics committee by surprise and now he has to answer for that. The corruption saga continues.Of course Fox news wo’nt mention this.

The left continues to excoriate Newt Gingrich for all his “crimes” and nobody points out that virtually all of the allegations against him were dismissed. One clerical error stood up as I recall.
Now that Mr. Gingrich is using his logical talents and is speaking up on behalf of national sanity, they will continue the attacks using old allegations as proof of his unworthiness.

jopa, well Newt would be a star if he was a democrat, as for ex-wifes some of the stories are problably just that. Democrat wives, ex wives all never say much, is it the democrat party norm or are they getting tingly like their whorehound spouses do. We know Hillary swung both ways, as Omoron has, must be the liberal mental defiency of double standrads. Newt, at least hasn’t been spouting government control of everything and wanting rules for everyone else, but the eleitist in the beltway smucks. As for double standrads when is the marxist muslim jackasses in the white house going to quit wasting taxpayer money on endless vactions and maybe try to do some “work”.. Big Mamee just got back from a $500,000+ Spain vaction, now are spending another $250,000 on fuel and security for more vacation, what are they doing, going back to their muslim phony attitude that they are sheiks with fake oil money spending sprees? Don’t those to moron apes realize there are people out of work and taxes receipts to the treasury will be down for decades. just a couple more little tid bits the media doesn’t like to talk about.
clinton relaxed the law on exporting technical info to china, walla!! china has a guidance system for their rockets (now they are able to send a nuke by air to the u.s.) thanks to; Loral
Space and Communications Ltd. remember los alamos research labratories snd dr.lee “chinese scientist” strange how all that missing computer evidence ended up in china:

Wen Ho Lee, a computer scientist at Los
Alamos National Labs in New Mexico, was fired
on March 8, 1999, two days after the publication
of an inflammatory New York Times article that ran under
the headline “China Stole Nuclear Secrets from Los
Alamos, U.S. Officials Say.”1 The piece read like a case
study in journalistic brinksmanship, and was but the first
of many negative articles to be written on Lee by James
Risen and Jeff Gerth. The story caused an uproar in government
and the press. The nation had been primed for its
release by the Cox Report, filed by a House Special Committee
in January, 1999, which alleged that the People’s
Republic of China had built a modern nuclear arsenal on
par with that of the United States’ by use of espionage.
Lee lost his job in due course.
one more thing on los alamos: clinton put richardson in charge of that labratory after all the ruckus with lee. richardson isn’t qualified to run a tortillaria and we probably lost more of our technology to china than before.
we can go on and on about how great you think bill clinton was, he spent most of his time in office defending investugations such as the vince foster murder, white water and numerous molestation charges from women and the best of all “monica”

Well, people, when are we going to demand the CEO to investigate the Pelosi deal for the money for her husbands tuna fish canning factory? The Starkist Co. just a couple years ago, and how about that Corrinne Brown of Florida getting a new car free a few years back?? Or is that not considered under the Ethics Committee’s jurisdiction? Why is there no uproar over the Pelosi tuna deal in Sumatra? I think thats where his factory is.
I bet a lot of them are shaking in their shoes right now because show me any of them who havent been unethical and are still getting away with it because they think we their constitutients are just stupid???

    • thinking about

Well you got the email rumor correct but the rumor is not true. Now this could be considered a double standard, false information being thrown out, some would rather climb a tree and tell a lie rather than stay on the ground and tell the truth. I also see a double standard in Vitter not being investigated, so I do concur with the double standard.

  • http://gmail i41

PaDeserter, jopa is a one way track marxist loving democrat with no round house, to get back to the real world. Anything a socialist democrat crimminal does is just a time to get tingley, even the mention of a democrat crimminal sets the lone bell’s clacker to start and hitting the sides of their shulls. How Whorehound Clinton still has his pension for lying under oath, getting disbarred, and fined. When ever other citizen would be sitting in Levenworth if convicted? Damn, he is the first black democrap Prez. Double standrads for socialist democrats means there are harsh fines and rules not to be broken for the citizens, and no standrads for marxist demorat crimminals.

  • thinking about

Double standard applied to Martha Stewart on “insider trading”, she spent some time where George W with the aid of “friends” at SEC just gave excuse of “my accounts and attorneys” failed to give proper notice when he sold his stock in his own company, maybe he had inside information about two of his companies going down.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Thinking(?) about,
Yeah and I also heard she was Clintoons latest conquest as well!!!

    @ Christin -

I know you’ve hit the nail on the head here, Christin…. but I want to extend your point a bit further….

Barry Soetoro was born in 1961 – which then makes our POTUS (in all actuality) a British Citizen…

    1) The Bank of England has been owned by the Rothshild Family since Waterloo
    2) And, the Rothschilds control (twice daily) the price of gold around the Planet – they have for years.
    3) Soetoro is… a british citizen and therefore he takes his marching orders from the British Arm of the Rothschild World Bank.
    4) This means that British Petroleum will pay only pennies on the dollar for the damage they premeditated in the GULF.

Check the other thread-article — what websites do you read… to find where I can link and extrapolate my comments — posted late last Saturday (8/14) nite.

Obama/Soetoro … is not bringing jobs back to America … he’s killing them off for good.

    ==================================

As for the Newt Gingrich comments from all of you … I tend to agree. I was fooled by the Contract for America back in the Soros …..er, I mean Clinton years, like many around the Country were.

Just the same – he has brought at least one better idea since he stepped away from the Political Stage. And, that’s his recommendation that All Hospitals put their stats online, for a comparison by the Patients … meaning Customers. In this, he is not wrong and a working model was setup several years ago in Florida while Jeb Bush was Governor. It’s a striking conversation to find out, thru these websites how the richest of Hospitals area also some of the worst, when it comes to healing people.

This website (I think) is a must read.

    http://www.newt.org/issues/health-care

Newt is NOT someone I would vote for, when it comes to being POTUS. Count on that. Just the same, he has had the CFR crowd bite him in the A$$ seveeral times, even they it was they who gave the Approval for Contract For America …

remember, nothing monetary gets done without the “blessing of THE FED” … it’s all part of the sucker’s “bait & switch” game they’ve played on us since WWI. It’s just that for the last 100 years, the US has been the major victim, instead of Britain, who was the major victim during the 1800′s.

THE FED, and the CFR have always had it planned that the DEM party would be who should be seen as “favored”… and the Republicans wouild be the “party to hate”… and the CFR-owned News Media have always spun every discussion in that manner, since the late 1950′s. By the time JFK came aruond, they were all set to introduce the NEW WORLD ORDER on the coattails of selling JFK like a packaged product – JFK found his BALLS, tho’, and came up with E.O. 11110 … and ruined the game plan…until now.

From this armchair – the real problem with Gingrich isn’t that he’s so in the tank for the status quo… it’s just that he’s a bit more Hamiltonian than he is Jeffersonian. And, that’s the shame of it. Hamilton was also a CAD when it came to the ladies, as were most greedy people of power throughout history, period.

    JMHO

  • Anthony

As for the TITLE of this Article…? What ‘can’ one say?

MAXINE WATERS will probably get a free pass… and MOST U.S. citizens will simply move on with their lives, sitting on their thumbs.

    That’s the truth of it.

Check with your neighbors and SEE if they have plans to write their Congresspeople and/or Senators over this nonsense. I doubt you find 1 in 1,000, if that. In fact, I would question how many here are actually doing just that (?)

Poeple – it’s easy to sit here and BITCH al day long.. We have enough spock logic in us to sout off with a little righteous commentary.

But, like Sean Connery in Costner’s UNTOUCHABLES…..

“What are you willing to do?”

And, some here have mentioned Charlie Rangel.. another ‘willing’ puppet [Uncle Tom?] of THE FED … and of the two, I thikn he is in-process of doing some of the greatest damage (yet) to this Country with his SECOND PUSH to Congress for re-initiating THE DRAFT. All in all, Rangel may be an Uncle Tom, but his push to re-engage the Draft (if successful) will make slaves of the entire Country. And, hes too old to get caught by his own recommendations, so why would he care…..?

When the CENTRAL BANK is preparing for WAR … they must engage those who will be sent to the Front Lines, in advance. Like it or not, when the Rangel (Draft) Bill gets passed, we will be at WAR within about one year, at the latest. Unless of course, they haven’t completed some other part of their WAG THE DOG script FOR HUGE PROFITS at all Governmment(s) expense. I would not decry this particular opinion if I were you… I would prepare for its eventuality on all levels.. including potential financial gain on Wall Street.

Check out both Mr. Livingston’s financial advice as well as this website (that doesn’t take your money) —

    • Anthony

The problem with blind patriotism.. is it hurts those who implement it, as well as the others these BLIND people mean for it to hurt.

Your generalization is totally lacking credible/independent source to back up your reasoning.

    • Steve

      JOPA;
We also attack all the WHITE TRASH like both the Clintons, James Carvelle, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dood, Bawney Fwank, Chuck U Schumer, Ted “the booze hound” Kennedy RIP, Henry Waxman, Barbara Boxer, Ron Wyden, Diane Feinstein, Arnold Swartzenegger, the Bilderbergs, the Rothchilds, and all the other white trash too numerous to mention, that supposedly have our best interests in mind, so take your race card and (offensive words removed) cuz it doesn’t work here.

Sheeple: Signs That You Might Be Part Of The Herd…
Millions of people from countries across the world have begun to wake up to the very real threat of repressive and engineered Globalism, or what the financial elite and the politicians who work for them often refer to as “The New World Order”. The movement against this centralization of economic and social power has gained traction in nearly every sphere, to the point where even the mainstream media has been forced on occasion to acknowledge its existence and prevalence. Those of us who have been working more than a few years in this activist organization, what many of us call the “Patriot Movement”, or the “Liberty Movement”, have seen incredible leaps and bounds in the fight against disinformation and the spread of unadulterated truth. Our work has gone viral, and our membership has skyrocketed, however, the task of diluting ignorance in the overall populace is far from over.

Sheeple can be found in every country, every ethnic background, every religious organization, and every subculture. After years of examination and experience, it has become much easier for the Liberty Movement to identify and categorize the various forms of sheeple, and come to terms with the triggers in the human mind that cause some to willfully ignore logic and wisdom.

      Identifying Sheeple
      a. Quasi-Intellectual Sheeple believe in the world of academia as unerring, as opposed to true scholars, who always have the wisdom to question the conclusions of academia. To me, an Ivy League degree is little more than a $100,000 piece of paper; it tells me nothing of the true intelligence of the person holding it.

      b. The ’New Age’ Sheeple: Otherwise known as “unabashed collectivists”. Not to be confused with people who do legitimate study into mythology, spiritualism, and the teachings of the ancient past. These are the folks who read Oprah throwaway books like “The Secret”, and think they have actually learned a secret. New Age Sheeple do not set out to actively and physically fix problems. They follow the Positivist view, which is to ignore bad things and hope they go away, or make them go away “with their minds”.

      c. The ‘Quasi-Activist’ Sheeple: Also known as “the rebel with too many causes and not enough knowledge”. At least these sheeple are willing to leave their houses and fight for something, even if they know little to nothing about what they are fighting for or over. The problem is that their lack of insight and in-depth understanding on most issues makes them highly susceptible to manipulation. These are the “useful idiots” we hear so much about; the people who support Anarchist groups that promote Socialist ideals (uh, Socialism is contrary to the tenets of real Anarchism, guys…), the people who believe everything they are told by the CRU on global warming even though the CRU has never released original source data proving that anything they say is true, the people who blame Capitalism and free markets for the economic collapse even though we haven’t had legitimate Capitalism and free markets in over a century. Without knowing the facts behind these issues, how can one effectively involve himself in them?

      Common Sheeple Arguments
      a. The NWO is just a “conspiracy theory”
      b. I’m well informed and have never been a “sheep”
      c. I’m not the “sheeple”! You are because you believe in conspiracy theories: Yes, full grown adults still use the rubber/glue tactic.
      d. The NWO is not possible because it would involve too many people. Someone would let the cat out of the bag eventually: Actually, the Global Elites themselves let “the cat out of the bag” constantly. They speak openly about plans for world government, world financial control, population control and reduction, and they write bills and legislation that are designed to limit or erase our civil liberties. The proof is hidden in plain sight
      e. You’re just fear mongering to get attention: The term “fear mongering” denotes the use of lies to induce hysteria.
      f. Everything is just chaos. There is no such thing as an organized conspiracy to control the world
      g. Yeah, I know the NWO exists, but who cares! We can’t stop it, so just live your life and have fun while you can
      h. What’s so bad about a one-world government? It would be the end of war, right?

We did not get to where we are now by giving up when the waters became choppy, and I believe when this age is chronicled and spoken of, it will be our perseverance above all else that defines us. It is a grueling task to defeat an opponent who cannot be dissuaded, who cannot be made to give up. It is nearly impossible to defeat that same opponent when he is also right. To those in the New World Order, we are such an opponent. As long as we do not falter, the sheeple will grow thinner in number, replaced by cognizant vibrant individuals, and the warped ambitions of Globalists will not come to pass…

      • Steve

        That’s a great read Jeff……….

      • kate8

        JeffH, Good post.

BTW, I think that the fact that so many people are becoming aware of the NWO and their puppets in our government is a sign of God’s intervention. He most often works through people, giving them exceptional strength, courage, and the arranging of events to work in their favor.

I’m thinking that there are many, many of us rising to the cause of freedom. As I mentioned before, God says that “No weapons formed against you shall prosper”. God makes a way where there is no way.
He tends to step in when things appear the most hopeless.

        • JeffH

kate8, if I’ve got it right I believe it is that “God works in mysterious ways”. Keep the faith!

    • Steve

No Jopa, but I did forget to list AL GORE! I can’t imagine why cuz I’ve been ripping him over on the “oil spill page”. I challenge you to show me one single racist remark I’ve made anywhere on any blog. SHOW ME JOPA.. I rip Bill Clinton, James Carvelle, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore as much or more than Obama or Cheatin Charlie Wrangle, and I haven’t made a single post regarding Maxine Waters until right here—–> She’s a frickin hypocrite. She doesn’t think the laws should apply to her, only to us lowly people below her.

Your race card is getting old Jopa. It’s something you and your fellow socialist/Marxists play when you have nothing of substance to put in your posts. Racists are usually the first to cry racism.

  • JeffH

“The name-calling technique links a person, or idea, to a negative symbol. The propagandist who uses this technique hopes that the audience will reject the person or the idea on the basis of the negative symbol, instead of looking at the available evidence.”

  • http://gmail i41

Welcomemy fellow Patroits, I see jopa, gets really get her dress in a wad at our posts. jopa apparently isn’t a conservative, just a socialist democrat with a dream of working for the government as any agency as a theorist, even if none ever are tried or will work. I’m sure most of are working as I know I have and still am. Census taking really is just amother over paid government job, for government wonks have see what things they can dream up. Also jopa are you missing the head Coon Byrd hunter that used the n word over and over and was the idoil of the National socialist Democrat Union Party. Go figure why marxist democrats in power positions are corrupt and never get made to suffer the legal consequenses. as the citizens of the USA. The pukes who play the race card are the racist democrat chumps themselves. Like Greasy Rangel, Whiny Waters,Greaseback Sharpton, Rainbow Jackson, and Barry Omoron just to mention a few. The last 2 years have increase the word racist over 20 fold. I bet there will not be any legal consequences for the Black Caucus members, just like the Black Panthers did even have to appear.

  • jopa

Jeffh; You may have just hit the nail on the head about the name calling.Did you read what i41,Steve,and oops even Jeffyh called me .HMMM.You propaganda-nistas.

    • Steve

So I called you a socialist/Marxist and teased you about being a McDonalds employee. You ARE a socialist or a Marxist, I just can’t determine how much of each. Gee Jopa if you can’t take that you better get a new personality, a new political affiliation, or maybe just retire from this blog.

p.s. That (offensive words removed) was not me calling you an offensive name. I was telling you “where you could shove your race card”

    • Cindy

      jopaa;
Did you lose your sense of humor after the pre frontal labotomy, the shock treatments, or is it the continuous medication?

  • jopa

Steve; You are very offensive are’nt you.The proof is in the reading.I do’nt consider Mc Donald jobs to be slanderous or demeaning,I do’nt approve of people like you that are on welfare and do’nt even try to contribute to your own self esteem. Some of my kids worked in fast food chains as teens and now they have finished college and have excellant careers. Those jobs build charachter which is what you lack, so sign up today at Mickey Ds and get your life together.

    • Steve

Nice try Jopa. I actually did some time at McDonalds when the business I’d worked for 16 years closed down. It’s wasn’t that bad. I was older than the manager so he treated me respectfully & never gave me the grease trap job.
As far as ever taking a single dollar of FREE money from the government, I never have. The only thing the government ever gave me was a rifle, some ammo, a few grenades, some crappy green fatigues (clothing for those who don’t know), and several pair of combat boots. I did get a small amount of pay, but it was less than minimum wage

Every congressmen and Senator should declare a net worth statement prior to being elected and if their net worth increased at a disproportionate rate compared to their salary then they should be tried for possible ethics or conflicts of interest violations. If proven guilty all money paid back plus interest and siginificant penalties including jail time. This would clear and drain swamp! We should start with the top and work our way down! I am trying to figure out how some of the people come to Washighton by way of modest means and end up millionaires. Lets’ stop the insanity! These people cannot police themselves!

  • Raul Pompa

Whether white or black democrat or republican if they violate the laws . they are suppose to uphold the laws of this nation. and they violate them let them recieve the same punishment the public recieves no if’s or bud’s about it . it seems both parties are nolonger a viable group of politicians . all we have are crooks looking out for thier own selfish interest Money .
