Don't Say A Word

June 11, 2012 by

Hello,

You have always recommended buying gold and silver so what happens if the government makes us give it up? What do you recommend one do to protect it? I’d like an answer from Bob please.

Thanks,

Evie S.

Dear Evie,

Governments don’t make people give up anything that they don’t know about. Why would you tell them?

Best wishes,

Bob

They will know when you try and sell it, store it, have it evaluated , assayed

Seems every one is afraid of something, maybe the government. Has it been remembered that we the people are the government? Anyone claiming personals of another is either thievery, a hold up stage coach style, or rough house take it all. I think the amendment that gives the right to bear arms and the one that guarantees the security of the individual in his properties, papers and self is sufficient to secure the individual. IF NOT, LOOKS LIKE ANARCHY RULES. We pray the law is respected.

      • Incredulous1

        Like FDR “respected the law?”

      • OldGuy

Are you aware that Obozo and Billary are trying to get the U.S. Citizens to be controlled by International mandates? If we sign agreements, with U.N. backing, that deny personal ownership of guns, they end run our Constitution and offer “We are just being good World citizens if we do this”.

      • Vigilant

OldGuy, I think a mere set of signatures doesn’t have any enforceability. As a treaty, it would require legislative approval.

      • OldGuy

For Vigilant: I agree that the signatures should be unenforceable. Why do we have so many unelected czars, whose regulations are enforced every day. There are many who actually believe the mantra that “We have responsibilities to be good World Citizens” means we need to have legislation that reflects what the U.N. says is good for the World.

    • diamond1957

I would think technically,”render unto ceaser, that which is ceaser’s” rule would hold, however bullion or “nuggets” have no image or seal stamp of ownership, and raw metals from the earth and as such are not taxable until initially sold, then its the transactions that become taxable. My point being, an 1933 gold coin is illegal to own however what if it were reduced back to a lump of gold ? bar bullion have serial numbers, but not most rounds such as silver rnds which do show weight and purity. As far as my understanding goes, if I mine an once of gold from the earth, its not taxable, and really cant be banned by the government, though they may try. Any other point of views out there ?

      • Tim

Remember what animal pelts were once worth? Now worthless. How about ivory whats it worth today?Point being is the goverment can put the heavy hand down on anything including things that people want.Today big money next day ya no big money.Remember the coin that went for millions last year? It was a goverment recalled coin from the 40′s.The coin being very very wanted to collectors was worthless to be sold here in the us.Collectors hands were tied up due to the fact that coind being sold can be traced back with that sum of money. The guy sold it to a england man.Guess what the seller was forced to give his millions to the goverment. The end the goverment gave him 500 bucks out of the 1.4million he once had from the sell of the coin.Folks you cant live your life hording things and fearing what can happen cuz lets face it you can have all the gold in the world in your hand its meaningless if you try to sell something when nobody has the money to buy.Live life today be happy and hope for the best. And of couse grow/buy fresh produce and can your food next learn to hunt with bow and arrow.Best you got.

  • Vigilant

I’ve long thought the government knows where pot at the end of the rainbow is. With their Internet spying capabilities and tracking methods, it’s hard to imagine they don’t know who holds most of the gold as we speak.

In a financial crisis as deep as the Depression, or worse, where the government would actually seize precious metals from the public, bartering with gold would require a furtive, look-over-the-shoulder black market full of undercover agents and tattlers. Many would no doubt not only lose their stash, they would spend long years in prison.

    • Stacy

Sorry, that is not the government plan. The plan is to create digial money that they completely control. Anyone using barter or gold or silver to bypass their BEAST system will be listed as a financial terrorist. They will not be put in prison. They will be executed, likely by beheading as the new One World Religion is put in place.

      • Vigilant

“They will not be put in prison. They will be executed, likely by beheading as the new One World Religion is put in place.”

Sorry, Stacy, unless you can link to a reliable source for that disinformation, that statement is pure bunk and pure paranoia.

  • Boatman

Well what about if you bought your gold from reputable coin stores, they must keep you information in file. All the government has to do is to get their computers and they have everybody’s info, that includes mine.

  • Tom

Bob needs to do better on his reply,

  • David Kaetzel

I would suggest the only way to keep gov’s hands off of your gold/silver is to ensure that there are no people elected to positions who can go forth with that plan. Wake up and make sure who you are voting for by checking their past and what they stand for.

    • My 2¢ Worth

FINALLY! Sanity in how to really squelch their plans.

  • Don

Almost every precious metal transaction is recorded. What would you do if the government merely said there would be a death sentence for anyone accepting gold for transactions. We have allowed “stage coach robbery” for a long time in this country. Every time the government takes money from you (taxes) and gives it to a non productive person who denies the validity of the Constitution and Declaration of independence. I don’t sell books. Read both Lessig’s “Republic Lost” and Mark Steyn’s “After America”. A liberal and a conservative pointing to the same bleak future, unless the “people” are the government. It is OUR fault citizens. Cling to your guns and religion. Don’t become a mob like Robspierre’s vision, but make it necessary for bad people in Congress to do the right thing.

  • Incredulous1

Unless you buy with cash (or trade), face-to-face, like at a gun show, there is the very likely potential for Fedzilla to know exactly your “stash balance.” C’mon, Bob, no one (other than the trolls) on this page is going to TELL Fedzilla a darn thing. How about an accurate GPS unit and PVC burying tubes? And line your home safe with rusty razor blades to properly welcome Fedzilla inspectors?

    • quiet_forest

Face to face? Nope. If you want a good look at the future, take a look at the Square website, http://www.squareup.com. Why does this matter? It’s what I call the technological tyranny of the majority. I know quite a few people who don’t want bank accounts or cell phones, for good and sound reasons. However all of them do have at least one, me included, because starvation through social and economic ostracization is a potent persuader. No phone, no car, no bank account? No business, no job, no home. The Orwellian world is here, and we did it to ourselves.

  • David in MA

I was under the understanding that all gold transactions had to be reported to the government by the seller.

    • Ben

Only certain transactions, usually over a certain amount, are reportable to the thugs.

  • seanpatrick3000

buy gold and store it off shore, Canada, Switzerland…..

  • dan

I traded all of my precious metals to the Indians for firewater and guns…
and I’m old and can’t remember what happened to the guns

    • My 2¢ Worth

Don’t you remember? You traded those off for food during the Raygun recession.. I think I traded a half case of potted meat for one of ‘em.. I was very generous in trading that much but you have to understand that after chocking down the first half case, I was ready to trade for ANYTHING.

  • David

What happens if the government prohibit the use of gold by private citizens?

  • Ted

I agree with Tom. Bob’s answer was flippant and worthless. Arthur apparently never studied recent history enough to know that banning of private ownershp of gold has already happened in this country.

  • Manwarm

My gold seller told me he doesn’t have to report a transaction under $10,000. Also the only thing the government can surmise from selling 10 ounces of gold is that you don’t have them any more.

    • Stacy

With hyper inflation You will reach $10,000 when you sell 1 silver dime, and will have to file with the Infernal Revenue Service.

  • oldbill

The Bible tells us to distribute our investments in six or seven unrelated things (cast our bread upon the waters), because investment ideas fail. The government in the past has paid for gold that was “confiscated”. It was not simply taken at gun point. Most of the time the government pays fair market value. In England, when handgun ownership was finally banned all together, the government set a time limit and paid fair market value for the guns. After all, the money they pay with doesn’t cost the government anything whether it comes from taxes, is borrowed, or simply printed (all separate issues from confiscation). What surprises me about Bob’s response is he ignores Jesus’ commandment to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and render unto God, that which is God’s. Christ was speaking of taxes, but it would apply in the case of gold confiscation. The government of the United States exists because God allows it to exist. I personally am not going against God to keep something that His Authorities feel the need for. Bob knows better than what he answered.
If you want to be financially independent, gold and silver are legal parts of that independence. But the more important thing is to be debt free and well educated. A good education is to read, study, and understand the Bible. I’m sixty-five and I have only begun my studies. I started in earnest about thirty years ago. The basis of my financial success is based on scripture.

    • Ben

Yep, guvvy took people’s gold in 33 at $20.67 an ounce, the going rate. Right after that, they arbritrarily raised the price of gold to $35.00 an ounce. Very nice, huh, devaluing the dollar by 69% with the stroke of the pen. Our guvvy, taking care of its citizens. Yeah, right.

  • David James

    A few answers for y’all

“They will know when you try and sell it, store it, have it evaluated , assayed”

Drugs are a multi billion dollar biz, and yes, there are a very small number that get caught. Sorry, just the facts.

“Has it been remembered that we the people are the government?”
Yeah, that will get you a long way in time of chaos. Forget that. There’s lots of innocent folks in jail that claimed they are sovereign citizens who are the government.

“Anyone claiming personals of another is either thievery, a hold up stage coach style, or rough house take it all. I think the amendment that gives the right to bear arms and the one that guarantees the security of the individual in his properties, papers and self is sufficient to secure the individual. IF NOT, LOOKS LIKE ANARCHY RULES. We pray the law is respected.”

The law is not respected by our government, so be a realist and provide for your own protection.

“In a financial crisis as deep as the Depression, or worse, where the government would actually seize precious metals from the public, bartering with gold would require a furtive, look-over-the-shoulder black market full of undercover agents and tattlers. Many would no doubt not only lose their stash, they would spend long years in prison.”

Correct, but maybe not ‘MANY’, since ALL people will be bartering for something, and the metals will be a mere part of it, and will act as a condensed store of wealth.

“Well what about if you bought your gold from reputable coin stores, they must keep you information in file. All the government has to do is to get their computers and they have everybody’s info, that includes mine.”

Correct, but as one feller says: he fergot where he put his gun and he sold his stuff to folks he can’t quite remember who or when.

“Bob needs to do better on his reply,”

Bob merely wants you to think for yourself, and to act and react on your own, with a little help from him, depending on your own set of circumstances at the time. Just be wise, be quiet, and do the best you can. There are no guarantees from anybody, and nobody has all the answers. It’s a tough world out there. We’re all on our own.

“I would suggest the only way to keep gov’s hands off of your gold/silver is to ensure that there are no people elected to positions who can go forth with that plan. Wake up and make sure who you are voting for by checking their past and what they stand for.”

Uh, do you not know that our pollies have very limited authority anyway, even if they were honest and looking out for us, which they are not? Do you not know that the international bankers own everything, including the pollies? Y’al need to start researching a bit, and to get a set of brains as to how meaningless our “system of government” really is, as far as protecting our interests go. You’re on your own, baby, and the sooner you see that, the sooner you’ll begin to make your own plans according to your own circumstances.

“Almost every precious metal transaction is recorded. What would you do if the government merely said there would be a death sentence for anyone accepting gold for transactions.”

At that point, we’re dead anyway, so keep on trying to live and trade the best you can, and to be wise, alert, and suspicious, and trust in Jesus Christ. We all have to die, and it is impossible to plan for every eventuality. Just live, and trust in Christ.

“Cling to your guns and religion.”

I like this. Now we’re getting some place.

“I was under the understanding that all gold transactions had to be reported to the government by the seller.”

Some sellers tell you this, not all of them do. Who knows or cares if it’s true or not. Something is known about every person anyway, and it’s only the amount of information they have on each person, so what’s the dif? Proceed with your life, be cautious, do the best you can. Nobody’s got all the answers.

“buy gold and store it off shore, Canada, Switzerland…..”

Yeah, maybe, but not for sure, since, when the US goes to the dogs, which was the main stabilizing factor in the world, your stash in another country will be no better than a stash on an open freeway. Respect for an American ‘foreigner’ will go down the drain even faster than it does today.

“I traded all of my precious metals to the Indians for firewater and guns… and I’m old and can’t remember what happened to the guns”

    Yeah, now we’re talkin.

“What happens if the government prohibit the use of gold by private citizens?”

The exact same thing that happens when the government prohibits the use of drugs – millions use them and a handful get caught. Sorry, there’s no panacea, we’re all subject to the consequences of gov prohibition, and that’ll never change. Be wise, cautious, suspicious, and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There’s just so much a man can control. And listen to Bob whenever he speaks, and glean what you can from his wisdom.

Isn’t it time WE THE PEOPLE stand together and demand the “hired help” in all areas of the government obey our laws? Our Constitution? They did take an oath to support & defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign & domestic.
traitor=’a person who betrays another, a cause, or any trust. 2. a person who betrays his country by violating his allegiance.
Can we pause a moment for the latest casuality, Cpl. Anthony R. Servin, age 22, died 6/8 in Afghanistan.

  • mac

What a bunch of sheep writing on this subject today. No imagination, just “going by the rules” – as if rules would apply if the government tries to forbid private ownership of gold again. I can foresee mass civil disobedience if confiscation of gold is put into law again.

Based on the facts, reality of what I’ve seen, e.g., every state, EVERY ONE, receives massive federal funds that directly to police departments, EVERY TOWN IN AMERICA! We see them here in NH, hear about them in Chicago, Florida, etc., ad nauseum. Terroist threat in some tiny, one horse town in NH? You bet ya! They say, “tactical practice,” for what? For those with eyes to see & ears to hear & hopefully minds to comprehend; the NDAA, SISPA, 30,000 drones planned by 2020, TSA, and on and on. Civil disobedience is coming folks. I may not be a Christian, just like Franklin, but I sure as hell believe in a Creator, “God” for expedient writing, but A PATRIOT NONE-THE LESS! You’ll know the shasta is gonna hit the fan the second they try to outlaw the 2nd Amendment, which they are trying this very key tap. Who are they? They are George Soros & NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg are using their billion-dollar fortunes to begin the transition by attempting to create “gun free zones” in towns all over the nation. (Source: nationalgunrights.org). Get’em while ya can, buy all the precious metals you can reasonably afford, cash out IRA’s, etc. When I saw para-military “practice” happening in cities, towns, one-horse towns way out in NH, yup, no foolin’. Grab guns, ammo, the Constitution, Family & pray real hard. TunaMan is right on too! GOD BLESS ALL AMERICAN PATRIOTS EVERYWHERE! PRAY FOR THE WORLD! And I do practice what I “teach.”

  • Tunaman

Sadly, nobody really knows what the future holds, & which investments are the safest move. We are all working with whatever limited information we have, and are doing the best we can to survive this most difficult time in history. I think most of us are aware that things are going to get worse, because the powers that be are not playing by any honest rules, & in reality, are out to either ‘thin out’ the population, or totally control it; while mascarading as our benevolent leaders, & propagandizing same old status quo. So all we can really do is gather & decifer information, & make our own decisions about what to do. There are lots of credible arguments for holding metals, mostly world history, of fiat currencies failing every time. Because of their desire to herd everyone into electronic money, even cash has become suspect. Look at all the police confiscations going on in states like Tennessee in the name of, ‘You must be a drug dealer, if you possess a lot of cash outside of a bank.’ The drug war, as well as the terror war have been used as an excuse to do a lot of home invasions, illegal searches & sesiures, & of course the TSA airport ‘security’ system has been an abusive set-up, to not only to molest, but to rob citizens. Anybody can be accused of anything, for any reason, at any time. And the legal defense system will rob you, if no one else successfully can.
There probably is no one answer. No certain, one size fits all, path to safety. People are still looking for sensible rules in a system gone mad. And hoping for a way to survive in peace. Both the propaganda being spewed, & the denial of people looking for sanity & sanctuary, has got a lot of people grasping at straws. Some look to government jobs to feel like good boys & girls of the beast, others to education, believing their status quo “smarts” will save them. Others turn to religion. While there is some wisdom there, I wouldn’t hold my breath for any raptures. And there are lots of contradictions in the bible, as well as probably a lot of editing. That’s not counting the confusions from all the multiple belief systems. You have to give the bible credit though, for predicting a lot of this, & it seems to offer a hopeful outcome…………….eventually. But we are going to have to do battle with this beast. And perhaps, few will survive. I have faith in reincarnation (“He restorath my soul”); & that someday the survivors will start again, with an honest system. I like to believe, that those innocents who did not join, or serve the beast, will have a fresh start someday. Meanwhile, we all do what we can. Try to use common (or uncommon) sense, to plan for the upheaval. The main thing is to be open about absorbing information, while judging for yourself. Because in the end, it’s better to succeed or fail using your own judgement, than blindly trusting someone else’s. Trust in religion if that feels right to you. But mostly hang onto your core integrity, as much as you humanly can. Salvation, I fear is not going to be as simple as established churchianity has made it out to be. Remember, mainstream religions are labled as such (via tax exemption status), by people who attend Bohemina Grove, owl worshipping ceremonies. The religions we are spoon-fed may be some kind of ‘partial truth.’ It feels good to feel sure. But everything must be taken with a grain of salt. These ARE the times that try men’s souls.

    • Richard Pawley

I would say that no one knows all the future. God didn’t even tell His prophets in the Old Testament all He was going to do, but He always gave them plenty of time. You can read, The Urgent Message, on line, by the late Rev. David Wilkerson, and that was a decade ago, or about the destruction of LA – I first read about it in 1965 (and I expect it in the summer of 2014). God never tells His followers anything useless, although it’s been my experience that He has shared things I was interested in knowing, and which may have value in a hundred years or a thousand, and so I published my autobiography, hardly a best seller though it got some good reviews so there would be some in the future who would have access to what I have discovered in life.

If you don’t have several months worth of non-perishable foods and a few hundred gallons of safe drinking water don’t bother with gold and silver. Silver is certainly better for barter but food is going up far faster than either and I’d rather have seven or eight cans of coffee than an ounce of silver. Those who don’t know they can pray for guidance and personal direction need to learn that while there is still time. DHS didn’t buy 400 million rounds of 40 caliber hollow point ammo (illegal in war by the Geneva Convention) because they were going hunting. Hard times are coming. God has had it with our immorality and He is preparing to chastise the United States and the world as I clearly said in my second book. It is highly improbable that it will be the total end of the world any time soon – but it could be the end or our individual world at any time.

In the fabulous classic paperback, GOD CALLING, edited by A. J. Russell, Jesus told two women who prayed together daily some 70 years ago as He recommended long ago, that “When you see how wonderfully your prayers have been answered, you will regret, deeply regret that you did not pray more.” Patriotic atheists can vote but patriotic believers can vote and pray and their prayers, if fervent, and made in faith, can change minds and many votes. 2010 and Wisconsin didn’t just happen. Many, many Christians were praying. Even so our debt is unpayable without big inflation – which is coming, steady as the waves of the ocean, unless there is a tsunami.

Our ship of state has already hit the iceberg. By changing the senate and the presidency we can slow down the sinking but I do not believe we can keep the crash from happening. With enough prayer perhaps we can run her aground in shallow water, which is certainly preferable to following the Titanic down to the bottom of the ocean. I don’t know how much time we have left, but I called it “The Greater Depression” in both my books, although it could be a good bit worse than that. Non-believers aren’t going to pray so the slack must be taken up by believers. This is not about religion, but about man’s relationship with God, something most miss today, but which our founding fathers knew all about.

The key is prayer, for our nation and for ourselves. If we don’t pray we will have no one to blame but ourselves. Vote in November, but prepare for food and other things to triple in price in the months and years ahead. Move out of the big cities, plant a garden, learn how to buy in quantity and can foods, buy freeze dried meat or whatever you use that will last beyond 2030. Inflation will pay for it. Buy heirloom seeds that grow their own seeds which you can replant, year after year. Learn to think like a pioneer, but most of all pray!

Or make a copy of this and save it till the end of the decade so you can ask yourself, “How did he know?” as you mourn your lack of preparation and nearly starve. Some preparation is better than none. I can’t tell everyone what is best for them because our situations are all different, but God can, and that is one of the major reasons I published my autobiography in the first place. May God help us and all who read this.
