Detroit Police Pretending To Be Robbers, For Experiment, Nearly Shot By Undercover FBI

Add this to the list of reasons Detroit is in shambles.

On June 6, Fox 2 News reported that an FBI agent almost shot a Detroit cop at a gas station while filling up. The situation occurred after officers decided it would be a good idea to simulate a purse snatching and invite a TV crew to film Detroiters’ reactions.

But, believe me when I say this, Fox 2’s Charlie LeDuff tells the story better than I can write it:

Two takeaways: 1) Good thing there were no concealed carriers around. And 2) Why the hell doesn’t every cable news station have a few reporters like LeDuff on staff?

IS THERE ANY MORE REASON TO PASS LEGISLATION FORBIDDING POLICE OFFICERS FROM POSSESSING OR USING FIREARMS? This proves, yet again, that police officers are about as intelligent as a box of rocks. If someone had shot the “officer” who did the purse snatching, would that person be accused of harming a police officer? We have enough real crime to handle — we do NOT need the police to play such infantile games. If this is the level of intelligence possessed by our police forces, we would be much better off and we could save a whole lot of money by simply firing them all and allowing the individual citizen to protect themselves with their own weapons as they see fit. This whole scenario is totally moronic and the individuals involved in it, including the Police Chief should be fired and prosecuted for endangering the public as well as for total and complete stupidity and incompetence!

Sounds like they better leave the movie make-believe to Hollywood….

Whoops, me thinks they played their roles a little too well…..lol! Sounds like both sides were eager beavers in trying to outsmart one another. It’s all a big game where these morons are concerned.

Given Detroit’s long-standing financial trouble, can we be sure that this was just a drill? The cops might have needed some gas money.

It’s all fun and games until some pokes their eye out.
    Who is this news reporter?

First he looks like he combs his hair with an electric tooth brush.
Second using terms like “bone headed” and “pissed off”, doesn’t make you look professional, no matter how true it is.
Let’s just hope the Detroit Fire Dept. doesn’t feel the need to practice at a gas station.
