Dems seek to name healthcare bill after Kennedy

August 27, 2009 by

Dems seek to name healthcare bill after KennedyIn an effort to rally the flagging support for healthcare reform, and make it harder for Republicans to oppose it, Democratic lawmakers are planning to name the legislation that will be debated in Congress this fall after the late Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts.

Kennedy was one of the earliest proponents of a universal healthcare system, with his efforts dating back to the beginning of the 1970s, and he reportedly endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008 after the latter pledged to push for a sweeping healthcare reform.

Kennedy was still involved in drafting a healthcare bill in the months leading to his death of brain cancer on August 25th, and frequently said it was the "cause of his life."

Now with Kennedy gone, the reform effort has been dealt a blow, and congressional Democrats have proposed affixing his name to the bill, an effort spearheaded by Senator Robert Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat, the longest-serving member of the Senate.

Byrd has asked his fellow lawmakers to honor and pay tribute to Kennedy, have a "civilized" debate on the reform and pass a bill that would bear his name.

"Ted Kennedy’s dream of quality healthcare for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration," says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

I would that all those that are making this ‘wonderful’ health care plan had to live with it too. They don’t walk in our shoes and don’t know how it is to live on our income. I know life is not fair, so it will never happen.
What happened to people like Abraham Lincoln who really cared about his fellow man?

There is so much political corruption in this state that it will take years to fix it. You don’t read much do you? I see that you are very creative with the name calling, just is a sign of a small vocabulary. Do you have any answers as to why this state has no money for our schools? No, you can’t blame that on Obama, that’s us rt here in fl. How about WellCare ripping off the state for 40 million in monies for the kids? Got caught and only goinf to pay 80million and keep operating in the state. Corruption galore and you don’t have a leg to stand on.

Medicare is “government care” and most seniors think it works just fine!

and on the way is social security.Get a life the goverment
        can’t even run the postoffice.

        • Smilee

Now that the democrats are in power they will find a way to fix it, it is repairable and it will not go out of existence, they were saying the same thing almost fifty years ago when I had just entered the work force and I was sure it would be gone by the time I retired but it was still up and running and from time to time adjustments were made to keep it solvent so you are prejudging the problem and spewing out unneeded fear. The last thing any politician republican or democrat want is for it to fail, that is a guaranteed loss at the polls for either party and they will vote for a way t keep it solvent. Reagan was the last with help from the democrats to do so and history will repeat it self before it is to late

      Yes God, please help us!

Private insurers convene the “Death Panels” which place price tags on our very lives! Every day private insurers decide who is worthy of coverage and who is denied due to preexisting conditions, family history and genetics, lifestyle choices, weight and even credit scores. Private Insurers tell us which doctors we can see, which hospitals and other healthcare providers we can access, how much it will pay those providers, which medications it will cover, which medications we are required to experiment with before we can step up to the medication that our physicians initially determined to be most effective, which alternatives physicians present to patients, which procedures are covered, which procedures are labeled experimental despite successful clinical outcomes and denies coverage for those life saving procedures, which specialists we can see and under what circumstances we can see them, which procedures are more cost effective aka cheaper even in the wake of record profits, and whether we are candidates for transplants and other life prolonging procedures and treatments. Nonetheless, those of us fortunate enough to have health insurance are relieved as hell to have it.

America is more than so called right wing “Christian” activists who spew hatred, misinformation and Fox News talking points! Health care for all Americans is a moral issue and Christians et al. have a moral imperative to get it done!

Income Matters – So Does Race and Class

From 2007 through 2008, 86.7 million people, one out of every three Americans under the age of 65, were uninsured for some period of time. A closer review of the numbers reveals alarming racial and ethnic disparities in insurance coverage and health care access. Almost half (45.8 percent) of people of color under the age of 65 went without health coverage for some or all of the two-year period 2007-2008. The numbers were even more alarming when broken down by race and ethnicity: More than half of Hispanics/Latinos (55.1 percent), two out of five African Americans (40.3 percent), and one-third of other racial and ethnic minorities (34 percent) were uninsured, compared to one-quarter of whites (25.8 percent). Families USA’s Fact Sheet Minority Health Initiatives, Health Care Reform: Critical to Closing the Gap for Communities of Color, March 2009 http://www.familiesusa.org/ass…..g-the-ga…

Lack of access due to socio economic factors and minority status result in rationing and create de facto Death Panels. African American elders are less likely to seek health care early in the disease process and less likely to practice preventive health behaviors. Conversely, healthcare providers are less likely to offer services such as breast or prostate cancer screening to African American elders than they are to their White counterparts. Source: Health and Health Care of African American Elders http://www.stanford.edu/group/…..an.html#VI

Genetic and environmental factors, lack of access to affordable preventative health care, lack of availability of affordable healthy food choices, and life style choices result in the epidemic of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, asthma and other respiratory problems, neurologic illnesses, mental illness and trauma related injuries in communities of color. African Americans, poor Whites and other minorities present later in the disease process, are sicker when we present, have diminished prognosis for optimum recovery and are more expensive to treat. Moreover, African Americans are less likely to have Advance Directives because of misinformation, e.g., “Death Panels,” cultural mores and a healthy distrust for the health care delivery establishment rooted in historical facts.

Social ills including lack of access to health care are part and parcel of discrimination along with uneployment, lack of education, poverty and lack of opportunity. Opportunity combats social ills. The opportunity to access health care saves lives and contributes to physically and mentally healthy individuals prepared for education and employment opportunities.

As Christians et al., we conveniently ignore that under the current health care system, “the least of them,” those who we profess to advocate for, are often forced to choose among purchasing medication, healthy foods, clothing themselves and their families or cooling and heating their homes. Children with special needs are born into a society wherein their parents are forced to cry and beg during telethons to access the wheelchairs, prosthetics and services essential to their mere survival. Yet, we continue to cry “Lord, Lord!” Abortion, school prayer, and if you’re Republican, taxes, are the only social issues worthy of the activism of the “Christian Community. We follow bliondly as Americans lanquish in emergency rooms and die prematurely from uncontrolled treatable conditions. We sit tacitly by while evil flourishes within our own ranks.

America’s many domestic enemies have tried to force this infernal legislation upon America. It is a living testament to their utter hatred for freedom and those who will not be slaves. Not one of these worthless back-stabbers has come forward to explain a system that guarantees them many options. As usual, they preach ‘choice’ from their altar of hatred, yet they deny Americans any right for a true choice. Anyone who dares to curse America with ‘reform’ that has not been fully debated, explained or even READ by those who demand that we surrender to this insanity is by definition a traitor.
Only a criminal would want to be a part of this infamy. This is part of b o’s ‘legacy.’ His unbridled arrogance and his hatred for those who love freedom will be his downfall. Cuba and Venezuela may welcome b o and his toadies with open arms. That is where they belong. B O and his ‘comrades’ have shown their true ‘character.’ They have none. Not one of them can be trusted.
Members of Congress live like kings and queens, and they think we we should be happy with a system that gives government total control over every man, woman and child. This reform scheme is the exact opposite of leadership and transparency. It is anti-American.
America, send this immoral, freedom-hating legislation back to its source – hell.

Government health care is one of the dumbest ideas man has ever conceived. This is one more way to enslave mankind. Are they really so ignorant that they think the name of it changes the reality.

    • Keith

Bret, I am going to assume you are a resonably intelligent person. Having said that, are you aware that most industrialized countries around the globe has some form of Government healthcare? So according to your logic, the world is just one big dumb place to you. No one is advocating that Gov’t health care is perfect, but check out where we rank in the WHO (world health organization)in terms of quality healthcare.

This depends of what this ranking is based on and if it is costs, then it is accurate, but as for quality and expediency, that may be another matter. The problem is how each side presents it argument slanting polls in their favor while subverting the real problems with health care.

        • Smilee

This is not a poll this is an in depth investigation/study based on all kinds of input and statistics and has been done by three different independent parties, the one most mentioned is the World Health Organization but all three came to the 37th ranking of the US, so what does that tell you. WE have a serious problem in this country and too many people who are not serious about it. It is pretty clear you are not at all knowable about this, would recommend you check it out for yourself. Knowledge cannot be gotten here or any conservative site whose motives are all money not medicine or health care. Don’t get suckered in to their BS seek and know the real facts.

          • Keith

You are right Smilee. I am confused by your reply. I don’t know if you are agreeing with me or disagreeing. I acknowledge that there is a problem and something should be done about it. I need clarification before I can respond intellegently. But thanks for your reply.

          • DaveH

Interesting that any information you oppose, Sleepee, is from a far-right website, but any that you agree with is spot on.
What we want is called “choice”, something you should be familiar with, but you are blinded by your greed for other peoples’ money. There are many solutions that have been offered up that involve less government not more government. But your liberal buddies ignore them, because their real agenda is complete control of our lives. I have no idea where you fit in the proposed gravy train, but you obviously think you are going to benefit somehow.
Don’t give me that compassion crap either, vicarious philanthropers. Compassion is something you do with your own wallet. What you want is called Theft.

          • eyeswideopen

            Dave,
if you really are a Libertarian, then you had better start bashing some of the Republican spending… Surely, you can’t just blame the Dem’s?? Your hate for the Dem’s is a little loppsided, as that book you are having me read, sites: that power remaining in the hands of one party too long, breeds contempt and corruption, which is exactly what transpired during the time the Repubs had control for 11-12 continuous years… Come on,,, You need to be more objective, quit bashing just the Dem’s and be objective, and loyal to your party.

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
I would be bashing the Republicans if they were pushing the bill. I have never voted for a Republican. I came close this last election, but only because Obama was so damn scary to me. McCain is my state senator and I don’t like him much, so I finally decided that I wouldn’t abandon my principles and I voted for Barr.

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
Also, I should add that I did not like Bush. I didn’t agree with the wars, and I didn’t agree with the spending that went on during his term (remember that Congress is responsible for the spending). He did let most or all of the bills go unvetoed which I fault him for.
I have my own feelings of how to stop terrorism. I think we should hit them hard when they mess with us (I think killing 3 of them for 1 of ours would be good). But after that, get the hell out of their country. Sounds harsh, but it would have cost a small fraction of the lives (on both sides) and money that have been lost fighting those two wars.

Does not matter to me what site it comes from as long as it is true, my experience has been far right sits rarely are but if they tell the truth I will buy what they say. What I want is reform of the health care system and could care less how, but I believe it will not happen with out the government makeing regulations that make it happen. You talk about greed, that is what we are subject to now and you seem ok with that greed. What solutions have been offered up, I got yet to see one that would work, some have been floated but will not work so that is more of your BS. If you know of some why not submit them rather than say they are there but you do not seem to know what they are. I will not benefit from at all, I already got Medicare and it more than takes care of all my medical needs at an affordable cost, that is all I want to see for all so people can afford it, but those of you who only care about yourself is extremely selfish and is based on real greed. You are one mixed up person whose brain is spinning out of control and out of touch with reality and immersed in a selfish greedy mode. Choice is what I am all about, the choice of having medical care for all while you are only concerned about yourself. Sorry you do not impress me. Control your life, I want no part of it.

          • JoAnn

Why not follow Obamas plan, the bigger the pool of resources the cheaper the costs. Well Obama, prove it, drop state lines and regulations for the insurance companies, this way we can find cheaper insurance for our individual needs. How great would it be to have insurance companies vie for our business instead of them knowing we have to take what is available in our state.
As far as obamacare goes, if we are to believe him, and just take the Blue Pill” when there is no hope, then Kennedy would have been dead a long time ago. That is “if” he had the same plan as he instituted in MA, for everyone but himself. The one that went broke after costing a whole hell of lot more then first quoted. If that is what you are standing up for, then I guess you also think it is okay to pass the bill and give the government “in case of emergency” the power to shut down the whole internet. Hmmm isn’t that what Iranian government officials did to its people, just recently. My computer is not part of the government, my health is not part of the government. The government is supposed to be working for us, not involving itself in any aspect of my life. governments are voted in and if they do not work for us, we do vote them out again. Government is like a bad boss, who thinks he should be able to control our lives, even when we are off duty. You can talk about all those countries and their health care, but when you talk to the individual from those countries, its not that rosy of a picture.

Keith, reasonable and intelligent have nothing to do with it. Bloated, porcine, power-mad government has a single talent. Big government can’t tolerate competition, reason, intelligence or results.
Ask a veteran about government health care. Ask someone who endures Medicare. Ask an MD who is expected to endure government ‘oversight.’ Ask a middle-aged man or woman about social security’s future. Our government is in a constant quest for power and control.
The prime goal of b o and his dialectic-spouting czars is to destroy America from within via health care ‘reform.’ Ask around. You’ll find many people who will tell you b o’s ‘reform’ means FREE health care. A
b a n k r u p t government is going to ‘give’ us FREE health care? We’re dealing with people who think reading and understanding legislation is a waste of their precious time. If that doesn’t tell you what you need to know, it’s because you’re not asking questions, thinking or listening.

        • Keith

Thank you for your reply, but I must disagree with you. Simply because I am asking questions, I am thinking and most importantly, I am listening. I am also a veteran and I work in the healthcare field where almost 98% of our patients are on Medicare. The system is bloated and in need of an overhaul. If you know of anyone in a nursing home, mother, aunt, uncle, brother, sister or friend, ask them if Medicare is failing them. Better yet, if you think this Gov’t program is a failure, you take them out of the nursing home and you pay the 9,000.00 per month it cost to keep them in peace and tranquilty for their remaining years and do it yourself. Ask the Veteran who is disabled and can’t get insurance because of a pre-existing condition to pay for it him or herself. I think not. I don’t think that Gov’t can or should try to right all the wrongs in this society, but I do think that the Gov’t can play an important role in providing all Americans with affordable healthcare. We are the greatest country in the world. Now let’s man up to our responsibilty and pass Healthcare reform. We deserve it.

          • Smilee

            Keith

You worked in the health care field??? Then why is it you do not know that Medicare does not pay for long term nursing home care. The government program that pays for that is medicaid and they are very different and are only for people who cannot afford their own and and lien against any asset they have.I am on Medicare and my dad went on the first year of its existence and have had family on it ever since and have been power attorney with it and Medicare works great in fact it is the best plan in the US today especially if you also but the supplement plan and at an affordable rate. If the politicians had not borrowed its money for other causes then funding would be OK and this very much needs to be reformed and that is possible. People like your focus on the funding as a gage of the quality of the plan, the plan is a very good one. WE both agree there are real problems with the existing health care administration but you have no solutions, believe me if government does not do it will not get done as those making all this easy money on it have no interest in doing it on their own the government is only one who can.

        • Robin from Indiana

SC… I agree with you. I think the only ones who are for this health care plan are the ones that think it is going to be free. And if it passes, it probably will be free…. for the illegal aliens. The rest of us will have to pick up the tab. I am not saying that there shouldn’t be some changes made, but I think what is being pushed is not the change we need. Ted Kennedy may have been the health care guru that had talked about changing the system for the longest, and he may have even had some good ideas. But, I have to agree that the US is broke. Who is going to support this plan? If it does pass, I think all who work in Washington should be the first ones on the list to pick up the government plan. If they think it is so great, this shouldn’t be an issue!

There is nobody stopping you, and Sleepee, and all your other Liberal buddies from putting together your own association to educate doctors (who will work cheap) and set up insurance plans to protect yourselves, and set up your own drug companies to produce cheap drugs, etc.
Put your money where your mouth is. Leave those of us who don’t agree (and our money) alone. Most of our current health care problems are a result of Big Government not in spite of Big Government. The Big Government experiment has failed but unlike a good scientist, you Liberals just want to keep throwing away more money (other peoples’ money).

        • eyeswideopen

I say let’s repeal it and let everyone, that includes all the Republicans who are on it, their parents, brothers and sister’s fend for themselves. But every time I suggest it, you conservatives come unglued as all of you are using it. Freedowm of choice is I am tired of paying for it,just so the few 45 million that are on it, can deny others the same quality of care. Libertarians should be calling on repeal, you shouldn’t be defending the Republicn stance. What happened to limited government? You are sounding like a Repub. and not a libertarian… I am reding your book, It seem as though you are only bashing the Dem’s why? You should be equally bashing the Repub’s.
I am liking some of the ideas of your party, but your continual siding with us Republicans is making me very suspect. What gives??

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
I’m not sure what you’re talking about repealing, but I probably agree with you. I don’t believe in outlawing victimless crimes; I don’t believe in government helping themselves to my money either. I just have to settle for political reality, and it so happens that I consider my hard earned money to be more important than whether I can buy a whore or do drugs, so the democrats are a lot scarier to me then the Republicans are. You will know, after you read the book, pretty much how I believe. A few of their ideas are foreign and scary to me, but I don’t necessary reject those ideas.
The political reality of my beliefs is that they are very scary to the average public-school indoctrinated person, so it’s not too hopeful that they will be implemented. Maybe, after the collapse of our nation, but by then we will probably be subjects rather than citizens.

        • Smilee

another stupid suggestion from Davie, will you ever come up with a workable solution to the problem, I suppose that is beyond your abilities.

          • DaveH

            Sleepee,
Do you ever have anything positive to say? You must me a pretty miserable person to have such a need to constantly bad mouth others. Get a life (job, girlfriend, boyfriend, hobby, or whatever it is you’re missing).

          • Smilee

Sorry davie but there is nothing positive to say about you and those like you here, besides I learned how to bad mouth from you, you are always doing it and apparently you do not like it when it is done to you, it is just some of your own medicine. Do not you realize that is mostly what you have been about on here it is you who is the one who is miserable, that is clear, it is a common trait among the selfish and greedy which seems to consume your life, It is you that needs to do something to better your life, try caring about someone other than yourself, it can do wonders for miserable persons like you are

      • REA

Keith, we have best health care; not perfect, not best, but good, government has spend all our medicare we have paid into….NO GOVERNMENT TAKE OVER..
CANADA, FRANCE, ETC COME HERE FOR HEALTH CARE…
I have my retirement insurance, plus medicare; not they want
        to cut 40% medicare…
They also are paying for illegals..that is not fare…we have worked,
hard, done with out for our health care…

        • Smilee

Nobody has proposed cutting Medicare benefits this an out and out lie being spread by the far right conservative radicals in their efforts to kill reform and you seemed to have been sucked into their pool of deceit

      • Victoria DeLacy

Up to now, Canadians have been coming HERE for quality health care that is NOT available under their system of socialized medicine. If you want to see how bad it really is, check out the video on YouTube with the following title:
        ABC’s John Stossel Destroys/Pulverizes/Crushes Obama’s Anti-American Health Care Plan
In that video, you’ll see the stark reality which is that under that system your furry feline and canine friends receive better care than do your friends and family. Who RUNS the system, PETA? As for me and my nation, I urge my representatives to VOTE NO ON HR3200 because your country is a terrible thing to waste. If they’re going to try to give Kennedy some credit for that bill – call it KOPECHNE CARE because it would be the death of our citizenry. May God save America from the DNC DICTATORSHIP – vote Republican November 7th to save our way of life!

        • Smilee

John Stossel is a far wright conservative hack and I could never figure out why he does not work for FOX news and this is full of half truths and lies and it is clear you have fallen hook line and sinker for his and others BS as you clearly are out of touch with reality and have a completely distorted view of what is going on with health care reform at this time.

      • K Davis

Wake up…You don’t see American’s running off to any of these other countries for health care but you do see them coming here. Have you ever asked yourself why?

Take heart, this one term president is the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party. I predict that 2010 will be a year that will go down in history as the year that republicans gain over a hundred seats in the house.

Americans are fed up, mad as hell and we’re NOT going to take it any more.

        I say vote’em all out!!!

        • Smilee

Your wrong K Davis, many people go to Canada, India and other countries as it 40% or more cheaper and just as good or better, one insurance company is even paying for India provided health care. We have people coming from other countries to Mayo and places like that but it is not as many as you would want us to believe. Mayo and some like it are the exception and not rule for quality care in this country, overall we are still ranked 37th in the world with Canada, and the European countries all ranked higher in addition to some others

      • Carol

Keith looks like you have your choice of 36 great countries to move to. Why don’t you and the others of you that love the government allowing you to suck off, watching and taking care of your every move, take youself to one or more of those countries. I mean it seems like the logical solution to me. I for one do NOT want any more gov control which is what this is all about. Y’all take a hike and leave the rest of us the hell alone. When all you leftist radicals leave this country will settle right back to normal

      • http://N/A Pat Rutland

I believe it has been established that the 37th rank is based on Infant
        Mortality rate, not overall health!

        • Smilee

the 37% encompasses everything to do with health care including all outcomes nor just infant mortality, there are breakdowns for many categories but I do not have them handy, but this percentage is the ranking including all inputs

First of all, I am not trying to say all Tea Party goers or disruptive town hall meeting folks are racist, but…What happened to the KKK and other fringe right wing anti government and racist groups? Did they just disappear when Obama became President? I would think not. You would have to be extremely naive to think that they are going to remain silent on these polarizing issues. Issues that have the potential to make the first black President a failure.

I truly believe that these tea parties and town halls allow a substantial amount of individuals to disrobe the white hoods and sheets and other racial garb and go to these things as ordinary concerned American citizens. Have you even noticed the majority of these protesters are not Black, Hispanic, Asian or any other race other than White? Now are whites the only one’s insured, the only one’s who pay taxes, the only one’s who love their children and want them to have a good future, the only one’s who vote, the only ones who love their country? I can go on and on, but I think you get the drift.

I am all for folks having the right to protest and I think protesting is an effective means for change. But be honest what your true intentions are and who you are. The word “Bitter” comes to mind.

    • DaveH

There were people of all colors going to the Tea Parties, Keith. Sure, they must have been “plants” by the right-wing conspiricy. Furthermore, since 13% of the country is black and since 90% of those voted for Obama, that leaves less than 2% of blacks who might be upset about the government spending, so of course you wouldn’t see many in the crowd. And all you have to do is see who on those Townhall videos have homemade signs and who are carrying manufactured signs to know who the “organized groups” are.
How can anybody teach you anything when you have those blinders on so heavily. 94% of blacks who voted cast their vote for Obama. What is that? Are they the only enlightened ones? Or, are they in fact the prejudiced ones?

      • http://www.jjchronicles.com cordovagraphics

What makes me bitter is not having a half white/half black in the white house but the fact that RACE is constantly brought up when ignorant people do not understand the legitimate concerns of REAL Americans as to the dangers of what their president and his policies are bringing to America.

Whether the town hallers are from the KKK is not the issue (and I’m SURE that they are not kkk members) This issue is the junk that this bill has hidden inside and we REAL Americans (many of which voted for Obama) are sick of his lies and hidden agendas for which we REAL Americans did NOT vote for. We ALL voted for change I suppose but “change” is NOT what the liberals or conservatives are getting.

We are getting more of the same from which our freedoms are gradually being taken away and that is despicable! They intended to pass the bill without even reading the contents and threatened to pass it without the consent of those who placed them in power. The town hallers are of many races and backgrounds and are concerned about this country…unlike the cool-aid drinking liberals who are sheep that follow the mad piper Berry O.

I hope that we all do not get an eye opener that will clue the liberals as to what is happening because by that time it will be too late.

Where were you during the past admin? Why didn’t we hold our own party accountable? I sure as hell didn’t vote them in so they could pass on the highest deficit in history. Did you?
Re: reading the bill, yes our Republican reps are stating that they aren’t going to read the bill, as they aren’t going to pass anything.Neither party is living up to the values we expect, but I am amazed that we can continue to deny that we had any responsibility for this mess. Guess what, they have the power, the majority rules.

    • Smilee

      Bret

If they are doing it better at half the cost as all studies have indicated why do you think that is not right. The reason all but two countries have government regulated health care (only in a few cases government owned and run and no one is proposing that here) is because it is right and it works very well. Conservatives are against it because it would limit the profits of those who love making this
( we are rated 37th) easy money rather that earn it the right way. France is rated no 1. All are covered, quality is rated no. 1 and the cost a little over half our costs and their administration overhead costs is at 4% are private plans are on average 20%, your statement says to me you want high priced non attainable health care for most and that is where we are at and is getting worse.

  • Smilee

factcheck.org just put out a release on the HR3200 health care bill. They had been asked to check out 48 claims about it mostly being circulated through emails but also many other places including some that are found here. They checked the claims against the actual bill as it is written now and this is what they found, 26 claims where found to be totally false, 18 were misleading or half truths and only four where true. The claims being made about a whole lot of misinformation being out there apparently are true and of those that I have personally read I came to the same conclusion they did. The News Hour last night also had a segment and looked at five claims and all were not true. WE are living amongst a lot of lairs and this is too important to not find out the truth for yourselves. You can see the details on all 48 at:

    http://factcheck.org/2009/08/t…..t-hr-3200/

or you can go on the house site and read it yourself and you will also find this to be true.

    • DaveH

      Sleepee,
Interesting that 80% of the people who look at the actual text of the Health Care Bill oppose it.
      http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text
You never did answer my question: Do you belong to Acorn or SEIU or some related group? By the way, I don’t expect the truth.

      • Smilee

More BS,Will you never tell the truth Dave,

    • DaveH

      No, Sleepee,
Factcheck’s analysis about one statement shows their lack of thoroughness. From Factcheck:
Page 143 states: “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”
This only says the Federal government will not pay “affordability credits”. It does not preclude states, or hospitals or other institutions from being forced to pay.

      • DaveH

And no Sleepee, I am not going to scrutinize all of factchecks statements, any more than your are going to read the whole 1000+ pages of the healthcare bill.

        • Smilee

          DaveH

You have demonstrate you are never interested in the truth, why do not you go to the house of representatives sites to be sure you get it from the horses mouth instead of all those conservative sites that you keep referencing, I did tell you a while back that I am not a member of accorn or the seiu apparently you memory is as bad as you closed mindedness as you will only read what you know supports your point of view that most know is all BS. 80% thas funny it is closer to the other way around I can believe it if you are only talking about conservatives. Factcheck.org is rated the number one factchecksite on the web for accuracy but for those that are not interested is facts or the truth of course they will not read it, open minded people read all points of view and that is why we are so much better informed than you are. My opinion you are the biggest phony on this site and feed the most lies. Cuba your spinning mind will never let you stay on the merits will it always going off on a tangent and getting lost. Poor you.

Slow down Dave, your mind is spinning out of control again and your loosing your focus, stay the merits or is that beyond your abilities

  • Smilee

The post below is interesting as it is again an example of the manufacturing of lies the right wing conservatives will create in hope of influencing people to their cause without the truth on their side. In time people will recognize they have no credibility and that the truth is of no importance to them. Open minds will find the truth, please open yours.

    “Saturday, August 29, 2009
    The End of an Era
I have a very great deal to write about today, and may even divide it into two posts, one today and one tomorrow. But I must begin once again with the matter that has quadrupled the traffic here at history unfolding: the totally fraudulent email that has been circulating since around April, attributing a right-wing rant comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler to myself. In addition to making me far more widely known than any of my books, this email has given me, interestingly enough, an indicator of the strength and virulence of conservative activism. For a while back in June it had raised hits on the blog from about 90 a day to about 300, but during July they had fallen back to about 200 a day. Now, undoubtedly because of the health care controversy, they have surged again, and during the last seven days there have been more than 3500 hits here, which I think must be a new record. I am also receiving more frequent phone calls from Americans–usually elderly Americans–who want to compliment me on my supposed insights, and my namesake in another university, who also gets a few emails on the topic every week, got one that asked if I had ever thought of running for President. (For the record, no.) I keep waiting for Rush Limbaugh, who has been shamelessly pushing the Obama-Hitler comparison himself, to call me to talk it over, but perhaps his researchers are smart enough to do the quick google search that will bring them here or to snopes.com and learn the truth. In any case, conservatives are clearly agitating in cyberspace at a pace which liberals are not matching.”

    • DaveH

Give me a break, Sleepee, Liberals controlled the airwaves for decades, then alternatives popped up that people actually wanted to listen to. Air America is a good example of a liberal failure; it had to seek Bankruptcy protection in 2006, because they couldn’t get enough people to listen to their Liberal crap. What we are talking about is freedom of choice. You are perfectly free to put up your own money and start your own radio show. But Liberals don’t want that, they want to use Big Government to force their way onto unwilling citizens.

      • Smilee

Again you are not on the merits of what I wrote about, your mind is spinning again, poor you

  • Roger Collins

One easy question. Why have the politicians excluded themselves from the plan? When they give up their gold plated Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan for the HR3200 bill, I will listen to them. There have been several attempts to get an amendment to the bill elinating the provision, but the Dems voted against it on a party line vote. Hypocrytes!

    • DaveH

And maybe more important, why don’t the Democrats take the time to fully scrutinize this mammoth bill, and give the voters time to scrutinize it before they try to ram it down our throats? Only people with something to hide try to rush somebody.
I don’t buy health insurance because it is bet ‘against’ the odds that I will suffer misfortune. The only way I win is if I suffer more misfortune than the average person. I would rather bet ‘with’ the odds that I won’t suffer misfortune.
We all know how government understates future costs and expenditures, when they want to get a law passed.
In 1913 Congress passed a progressive income tax beginning at 1 percent and moving up to 7 percent for those having incomes of more than $500,000 (the equivalent today of about $15 million in income). Contrast that with today’s marginal brackets.
A 1936 government Social Security pamphlet said:
“After the first three years — that is to say, beginning in 1940 — you will pay, and your employer will pay, 1.5 cents for each dollar you earn, up to $3,000 a year. . . . Beginning in 1943, you will pay 2 cents, and so will your employer, for every dollar you earn for the next three years. . . . And finally, beginning in 1949, 12 years from now, you and your employer will each pay 3 cents on each dollar you earn, up to $3,000 a year. That is the most you will ever pay.”
We cannot afford (as free citizens) to let the government get its foot in the door on such an important and potentially costly issue (to both our wallets and our freedom) as National Healthcare.

      • Smilee

Why is is almost every government in the world can do it a far cheaper cost and with better outcomes??? You never know what you are talking about, your spinning brain is making you dizzy.

        • eyeswideopen

          Smilee,
for the same reasons the others economies are bouncing back faster, they are smaller, easier to manage, and they don’t have the divergent fringe that we have in such large numbers. In other words they will not let a group stop what is good for the majority of citizens.

    • Smilee

They get choices the same as all federal employees and pay 25% of the premiums, not all that different than some of the plans offered by some of the big corporations in the private sector, this idea they have a special plan is BS

    • eyeswideopen

None of the Senators Rpubs and Dem’s want to give it up…I say let them go uncovered for a month and let them feel how the average 22-64 yr old feels whose coverage is crap or who doesn’t have any.

      • Smilee

They have about 300 plans to pick from of all different coverages and what area they live in and covered in. These plans cover all federal employees anywhere in the US

    • Smilee

      Roger Collins

If you listened last night to Obama he said that all should have an opportunity to buy insurance, the same as congress and him and federal employees so I guess your premise is premature and probably going to be wrong. If he succeeds then you too can get the gold plated plan as you refer to it.

  • s c

People who live in the real world know why politicians will never give up their gold-plated ways. They enjoy being above the law. The American people are not seen as ‘good enough’ to comment on their unconstitutional, anti-American and TRULY MEAN-SPIRITED ways. If you put one of them in a corner, you’ll be told that they know ‘best,’ and their high salaries and UNJUST benefits are perks that only “special people” deserve.
This is the ARROGANT TYRANNY of those who are not fit to govern. It is the same arrogance and tyranny the Founding Fathsrs warned us about so long ago. These vermin will not listen until they are FORCED to listen.
We deserve better government. Bigger government is NEVER better. Those who believe in big government are willing slaves. They are no better than the slime they keep in office.
America must have a much smaller, functional government. America never deserved generations of criminals who talk about SOCIAL JUSTICE and CHANGE and HOPE. They use these words as tools to get what they want. Only now are Americans finally admitting that the cure will be painful, but it must be done if America is to remain FREE.

    • DaveH

      SC,
Recently, I emailed candidates for Mayor in our city this simple question:
“Do you think we need more government or less government in our nation?”
This is the response I got from our incumbent mayor (who, by the way, moved here from Chicago)
“I do not look at the nation as I am a mayor of a city. Our size of
government is about right given the current economy.”
These are the kind of weasel words that are given by politicians that I won’t vote for. Keep in mind that our current economy sucks, so I figure when the economy improves (I should say ‘if’) he is fine with increasing the size of government.
We need to throw out anyone who doesn’t run on a small-government platform. That is the only way we are ever going to get back control of our government.

Sleepee should go back to MoveOn.ORG and get with the rest who believe this administration’s lies. When confronted with some of them, all of a sudden it’s a different story from Pelosi. Yeah, well, that’s not the final bill. There’s three or four of them floating around right now. Not really what we want to hear. That’s like a kid saying, let’s get together and push through my idea. Oh, by the way, I’m not sure what it is, yet. Are you kidding me? What the hell are they doing? It’s like the Little Rascals in the club house.

Davie has not been getting under my skin I just felt he needed a taste of his own medicine as he is always going off the message of the posts he responds to and is very rude. I agree with you that this health care reform is a work in progress and their are 5 bills introduced and none will likely be the one that will become law.
Your description of the legislative process illuminates your lack of understanding of the process and is a rather child like description of a rather complicated process.

Weasel is a very polite way to describe that @#$%^&, DaveH. A small government can be controlled by those who have the most to lose (the American people). Big government is a cancer, and must be seen as such.
Those who favor big government are properly called ‘useful idiots.’ They serve no purpose in life, other than to ‘help’ government to gain and hold more power, while citizens are controlled more and more. Eventually, the people will have no freedom or rights.
It’s too bad that common sense can’t be bought, or I’d make a contribution so Congress and the White House could improve their intelligence ten-fold, and perhaps be able to claim that they serve a purpose.

SC, I just ignore Sleepee. If I thought he was knowledgeable or intelligent, he might bother me, but I don’t so he doesn’t.
I think one big way we could change this country is to pay our government in cash money only. That way we could better track just how fair or unfair their salaries are. They could then pool their money or not to buy whatever health plans they want freely.
In fact, government should get out of the way of the private sector so that companies could also do that, if they so choose. The government through the Income Tax system has done everything they can to keep companies from offering their employees freedom of choice in their form of compensation. For instance, I would prefer to take all my money in cash and pay for my own insurance plans, pension plans, etc.
The government flings the word ‘freedom’ around whenever it suits their propaganda purposes, but in fact most people in government are contemptuous of our freedom.

          • Smilee

Oh davie, you do not ignore me, your a pest, you post on almost every post I make and then usually you go off on a tangent and do not respond on what I said and you say I’m ignorant and not knowledgeable why you cannot even carry on a intelligent conversation with me or even stay on the merits of any you answer. Don’t draw conclusions on anything you know nothing about which does not appear to be much on any subject on this site

    • Smilee

S C you just got to quit drinking so you can make some sense and of course davie will involve himself in any conversation that is off the merits of the discussion as he also knows nothing about it and cannot give an intelligent response

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Ill bet if you quit smoking crack and writing this whack that you do in here, that Dave will stop drinking. But I find him quite intelligent, so I dont think the problem is on his part.

          Berb,
This fight is between them, no response is necessary from you, unless you are stating an opinion on their interpretations.
Your adding personal tacky remarks trying to defend Dave H, by calling Smilee names is so “grade school”. Dave H. is always asking people not to name call, if you respect him, obey him.

        • DaveH

Ahh, the eternal petulance of Sleepee. Typical Liberal whose ideas don’t stand on their own, so must be supported by ridicule and name-calling.

Common sense would say that any bill that is over one thousand pages is not a good thing even if you don’t fully understand the nitty gritty legalize; and has the danger of slapping the chains of bondage on us.

    • eyeswideopen

Bret, supposedly the Repubs put in 789 admendants. which made it really big. I say scrape it and get a citizens panel to come up with ides.

  • Bret

I would like to know if any of you who support socialized medicine have actually experienced it firsthand? Have any of you actually lived and worked in a foreign country that practices it and had to use it. I have and my experience was pitiful. I know from first hand experience that it does not work and is a horrible thing.

  • Natalie

I called it! As soon as I heard of Kennedy’s death, I said to my husband… “Watch, they will use this in some way to push the health care bill!” I don’t know why I am shocked of this news still.

God, we pray for this bill to not pass, and we pray that our country will prevail with keeping our freedoms alive. However, Lord, if this is your will, then I pray that this is not the coming of Revolations. I pray, I pray, I pray!

    • DaveH

      Natalie,
There could be a silver lining to this cloud. If it passes, the Democrats are going to be decimated in the next election (unless they can do an awful lot of vote fixing). Those “organized mobs” are going to show by their votes just how real they are.
As I have said before, I believe the radical left is going to finally open the eyes of the dormant voters in this country to the evils of Big Government.

Kennedy should not have been buried where he was. He did not earn it.
I do not know why he stayed in office. He needed to be
filing gas at a station. There is no way he was a good man, not one.
Obama needs to be out of office

      • Smilee

He stayed in office because the people voted him in office time and time again and most times he received 60% or more of the vote, apparently most people who know him best do not agree with you. Any veteran can be buried there and he was a veteran so he did earn it, A lot of people thought he was a good man and when was the last time you saw such an outpouring of love and affection for a senator when he died. I am a senior citizen and have never seen it anywhere near what he received. The fact you hate him means nothing.

I’ve been treated for an illness in France. I’ve served at the World Health Organization. I don’t buy that any countries medical system is better than ours. When I was treated, the doctor took the opportunity to have me verify his translation of some training he had received, if I remember right, from the U.S. and was definitely from English. I also remember thinking that the other missionaries telling me the medical care in France was a little sketchy were right. And as far as W.H.O. goes, they are one of many organizations I don’t trust when it comes to subjects that cross over into politics. So their list of what countries have the best medical care holds absolutely NO weight with me.

    • Smilee

How about other studies that came to the same conclusion the WHO did, sort of gives them credibility, your post seems mixed up can not follow all you talk about, France has been ranked number one by two other studies in addition to the WHO and you want us to believe you without you giving us any real facts to support your allegations

Which is also why Socialism and Communism and other such ideologies from Satan must be defeated. There is no question they are from Satan because his objective is to shackle and bind mankind; Socialism and Communism (and others) does exactly that. Socialism and Communism has never worked out for the good of mankind and never will because it is not a true principle. Obama’s health care plan no matter what name is used is socialism or at least strongly appears to be.

God rest his soul, but why are they now trying to make him a saint. Here is his record. He was caught cheating at Harvard, expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him. While expelled, He enlisted in the Army, but evidently couldnt count, because he mistakenly signed up for 4 years instead of 2, but his rich dirty daddy, Joe Kennedy, pulled the strings needed to shorten it to four, then arranged for him to serve in Europe, away from the Korean conflict. No preferential treatment here, like he accused Bush of. Right. He was assigned to Paris, and never advanced beyond the rank of Private. He then returned to Harvard. Imagine a person of his “education”, never advancing beyond the rank of Private. While attending law school at the University of Virginia, he was cited for reckless driving four times, including one in a residential neighborhood clocked at 90 miles per hour driving at night with his headlights turned off. His Virginia drivers license was never revoked. Imagine that. Then he somehow passed, or was given a pass of the bar exam in 1959. In 1964 he was seriously injured in a plane crash, and hospitalized for several months.Tests done by the hospital at admittance showed he was legally intoxicated. They kept this a secret until the 1980′s when the report was unsealed. Didnt hear anything about this from the biased press now, did we? On July 19, 1969, Ted attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island. At around 11:00 he borrowed his chauffeurs keys to his Oldmobile limousine, and left with Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker. Leaving the Island via an unlit bridge, Kennedy steered the car off of the bridge, flipped it into Poucha Pond. He swam to shore, and walked back to the party, passing several houses and a fire station. Two friends returned to the scene of the accident with him, and they told him he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead, he went to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. He called the police the next morning, but by then the wreck had allready been discovered. Before she died, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside down car. Her corpse was whisked out of state to her family before an autopsy could be conducted. Kennedy says he dove under the water repeatedly but couldnt find the car and that he didnt call the police because he was in a state of shock. He pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a suspended sentence of two months. Kopechne’s family received a small payout from the Kennedy’s insurance policy and never sued. Kennedy held his senate seat for more than 40 years. His accomplishments seem scant. He authoried or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care easier for the indigent, funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors, and is widely held as the standard bearer for Liberalism. In his very first Senate roll he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S. Immigration policy upside down and opened the floodgates for immigrants from third world countries. Since that time, he has been the prime instigator and author of every expansion of an increase in immigration up to and including the latest attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Not to mention the pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme Court nominees, as if he ws the standard bearer for the nation in matters of “whats right”. What a pompous ass. He was known around Washington as a public drunk, loud, boisterous, and very disrespectful to ladies. “A blond in every pond” is his motto. Now the spin doctors on the left want to make him a hero. Let us not forget his true legacy, a drunk and a murderer.

    • eyeswideopen

Now could you do one on Bush? and / or Karl Rove, Rush limbaugh would also be great.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sure can. George Bush came into office, with a terrible recession in place caused by the philanderings of Bill Clinton, who was riding on the successess put in place by Ronald Reagan. It all came crashing down, then Bush inherited a mess. He cut taxes, and had employment at an all time high in this country, and unemployement at an all time low. The stock market hit the highest levels in history. Even when the enonomy so called by the left wing liberal press had “tanked” with a year and a half left in his 2nd term, the levels were still above where Clinton had them at. This is a fact. George Bush got tired of the enemy blowing up things here, as Bill Clinton turned a blind eye to their constant attacts on us, and Bush took the fight to them. He freed millions of people in a nation ruled for years by a blood thirsty tyrant. As time tells the tale of history, all the lies by the left wing liberal news media will fade away, and the truth will come out as it always does over time, and George W. Bush will go down as the second greatest president next to Ronald W. Reagan. Also, as you see as time tells the tale, more and more damaging truths about Bill Clinton continue to come out. One day, all the murderous details of his Mena Arkansas drug ring will come out, you know, the one where all the defendants, and all the witnesses, the cops, the lawyers, the judges, everyone with any connection to it, ended up dead because it was pointing to the involvement of the then governors office headed by one William Jefferson Clinton. Yeah, so there you go. How do you like me now. Carl Rove I dont know enough about, only that he serves America good.

        • Smilee

The recession Bush left was 100 times worse that the one he dealt with when he came in,it was pretty mild but you exaggerate and call it terrible

            Well Dave,
I personally don’t agree with the vouchers. We need to improve the schools not just a few childrens opportunities. You shouldn’t agree with vouchers as it just expands government.
Here in Fl. at the predominately white schools we have gifted children who are afforded better schools using the voucher program and nobody complains.
I admit that I have mixed feelings about the whole situtation. I want children to have all opportunities they can, however, why should only a few benefit from government funded schools?
I don’t understand how you get the racist issue involved here?

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
If you look at the voucher amount, it is cheaper than the public school cost.

          • DaveH

I said racist because the people being hurt here are black people. And the Obama people don’t care if they hurt blacks as long as they get their Liberal agenda pushed through.
And Eyes, you don’t see a slight conflict of interest with Government-run schools teaching our children? You don’t see the opportunity for propaganda here?

          • eyeswideopen

Our vouchers here aren’t the same price, different state, different situtation.

Rush is an entertainer, informer and a opinion giver. All the entertainment industry make too much money. However, Rush doesn’t make his money by screwing hard working American’s. If you don’t like what he is saying you can turn off the TV. Kennedy instigated and passed so much crap that screwed American’s out or millions. These people that are so intent on giving our hard earned money away should think about using their own money to fund all their agendas. He is all for green until they try to put a windmill on HIS island, heck no he isn’t standing for any of that. Cram that down the flocks throat not mine! He was a big hypocrite. Notice he did not get his final ok from the Pope. lol

Beck is as stupid as they come and anyone who believes any of his rubbish cannot possibly understand the realities of today, he and his kind would destroy this country if they had power and they had quite a bit of it starting in the eighties and our cultural and economy has gone down hill since then and now we are starting to turn that around, it took 30 years to get where we are now at and it will take quite a while to get back to a sound economy gut we are now headed in the right direction.

I too hope that Kennedy made his peace with God in the end but I can’t say that he will be missed on my part. He did a little good by going along with a few good bills but all in all, he inflicted a lot of damage to this country and was wrong to do Hilary the way he did. Neither she nor Obama were experienced enough for President but Hilary was the senior senator and like Palin, was treated in the worse way.

Obama is doing nothing but the same ole same ole that Bush was hated for and I can see the love for Obama dwindling each and every day. We still have troops where that may or may not should be and we still have Gitmo in addition to bailing out the rich and trying to pass laws that have hidden agendas that are devistating to our economy and freedom.

I suppose Kennedy did one last evil deed before passing and that was when he backed this unknown, inexperience and questionable lier we know by many names, many evil associations, many citizenships and many social security numbers.

First of all, let me make it perfectly clear, I do not care for Hillary Clinton in the least, as I find her destestable. However, what you said about Teddy putting Obama in front of her being the senior, is another of the things Ted does. Women are just piece of meat to him. He has degraded them all of his life, killed one that we know of, and who knows if there were others. He might have been the one that gave Marilynn the pills to protect JFK and RFK, who knows. But the fact is Ted was a drunken raucous rude male chavinist pig all his life, and undoubtedly die that way. Im not the one that makes the final judgements on where people go, but from the way he lived his life and the way he piled up wealth and screwed people over all his days of being a so called “servant”, Id say its pretty warm where he is at right now, but his brothers are keeping him company, along with his father.

What’s one more lousy bill with Kennedy’s name on it but “one more lousy bill?” Do demorats ever come up with bills that are actually good for Americans as a whole? No, and too often Republican congressional members have slovenly gone along with the production of these bad bills. I want people in Congress who are like the founding fathers in probity and character. Trouble is our country has deteriorated to the point where voters put no stock in such crucial necessities … and the country will continue to suffer for it.

I personally thank the Oboma heath care is just like the windstorm. When FIMA started and all the big payouts it went broke. So that when the Federal Government taken over the entire windstorm. It purchased through you agent and you policy is sent to you through the federal Government. Now that the federal Government is saying that the Medicaid is broke and all the baby boomers is starting to retire. They looking at a way to make more $$$. Take a look at the social security, when the Government first started it there was more money in social Security and the federal Government couldn’t wait to see how to borrow the money, saying they could use the money and make money. Now look at it SS now it broke?? BIG FEDERAL GOVERNMENT . YOU THANK THEY COULD RUN A BUSSENES.

This is all I need to know about the health care bill:

SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
    (a) Tax Imposed – In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of –

    (1) The taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
    (2) The amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.

By what right do you Liberals presume to force me to buy something that is contrary to my knowledge and beliefs? And Sleepee (can’t remember the name of the Dwarf you remind me of – the mental one) spare me the bull that you care about me; you have demonstrated aptly that you have contempt of my life.

      DaveH

You nailed it right on. Read it right there in black and white, if you don’t have the health coverage according to government standards you will be taxed. There is no other way to interpret it. This is scary. Has it occurred to anyone that some people don’t need or want health insurance coverage whatsoever?

    • keith

      that would be dopey!!!

Screw Ted Kennedy, and what a lame reason to put forth a totally Unconstitutional proposal. Wait a minute, given that NOTHING Kennedy ever did had anything to do with the Constitution, maybe its only fitting that we afix his name, and sink the whole bill into Chappaquiddick bay.

Do we keep funding NASA because they launch from Kennedy Space Center, or because its a good idea?

Americans are not only losing the race for an educated society, but we are leading the world ins asinine goverment officials

Please vote all this idiots out at the first opportunity. Its time to burn this country down and start over using the Constitution as the foundation. Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Schumer, Byrd, Hatch, …. they have to go, or we are going to go the way of the Dodo….

Read this….what other option do we now have?

Certainly an option very worthy of your consideration!

Pass It On For Our Country And the memory of our Founding Fathers

At least read this. Form your own opinion, even if you disagree with this issue, but at least read it. You and I owe that to our country

All I ask is that you consider the suggestion here.

The entire Congress of the United States is corrupt. And I mean both Houses and I mean both major parties.

I realize that a few Members of each House are
trustworthy, but, as a group they are absolutely the most corrupt bunch to ever disgrace our Nation.

In November of 2010 the entire House
of Representatives will stand for re-election; all 435 of them. One third of the Senate, a total of 33 of them, will also stand for re-election.

Vote every incumbent out. And I mean every one of them. No matter their Party affiliation. Let’s start all over in the House of
Representatives with 435 people who have absolutely no experience in
running that body, with no political favors owed to anyone but
their own constituents. Let’s make them understand that they work for us. They are answerable to us and they simply have to run that body with some common sense.

Two years later, in 2012, vote the next third of the incumbents in the Senate out. We can do the same thing in 2014 and, by that time we will
have put all new people in that body as well.

We, the People, have got to take this Country back and we HAVE to do it peacefully.

That’s what the Framers of our Constitution envisioned.

I am also suggesting term limits on
the NEW BUNCH — 6 YEARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES three
      terms thats all.
      AND
      12 YEARS [2 terms] FOR
      SENATORS.

NO EXCEPTIONS. THE LONGER THEY STAY IN
OFFICE THE MORE POWER THEY GET AND THEY LOVE IT
AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED.

WE HAVE TERM LIMITED THE PRESIDENT NOW LET’S TERM LIMIT THE LEGISLATORS.

And we do away with their Special Retirement system and their health program (they should have same health programs everyone else in America does). When they are through serving their country they go back to being private citizens.
They should view their service as a privilege; after all it was
designed to be a part time job to represent the voice of the people,
NOT the special interest groups and those who can do favors for them.

If they dont like this proposal then dont run for office

Please, if you love this Country, send this (as I have done) to absolutely everyone whose email address

appears in your address book. This thing can permeate this Country in no time. Let’s make it happen.

      VOTE THE POWER ABUSERS OUT……..LET’S
      TAKE AMERICA BACK !!!!!!!!!

IF YOU LIKE THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING IN
      OUR COUNTRY, THEN DO NOTHING………

      “IN GOD WE TRUST”

Maybe they could call it the Chappaquiddick Health Care Act.

After all, if the act takes a nose dive, you can’t blame Ted
since he left the scene. But if the act passes and becomes
law, if then the country drowns in debt, we can blame Obama
    for driving us under.

A journalist reported that Ted loved a good Chappaquiddick
joke, I guess because he survived it at the expense of Mary
Jo Kopechne. So I guess the joke is really on her…and us.

    • Kathy

I’m with you Dale. Your Chappaquiddik analogy was right on the money.
I always knew Okies had good sense.

Wake up America, healthcare is costly because of illegal aliens, Texas spends 4.7 billion annually, California $9 billion and Pensylvania $728 million annually. Some extimate approximately $338 billion per year spent on illegal aliens. Their children born here because of some obsolete law become American citizens and are eligble for welfare, wix and other goverenment programs they never paid into. Republicans and Democrats refuse to face this issue. Illegal aliens also take away American jobs. If this healthcare bill passes the next great push from Obama, Pelosi and all their cronies will be to legalize all illegal aliens living in the U.S. this could be anywhere from 12 to 20 million people. (who knows how many actually)? Obamas old organization A.C.O.R.N. will probabley put out any number Obama wants on the next census. Obama is a narcissist and a socialist. If you want your kids and grandkids to grow up in this enviroment I feel sorry for you, the America I knew will be gone.

    • Kathy

The Dems WANT to legalize illegals. They know they have bought all the existing votes they got in the last election–votes they are likely to lose in coming elections. They need to sell the Mexicans on more free stuff (like citizenship) to get them in bed with Pelosi, Waxman, Bawney Fwank and others of that sick ilk.

      • eyeswideopen

Yep, I think they should legalize everybody they can get their hands on, to keep you people out of office for as long as they can.

        • Mike D

Hey eyes-shut, those “illegals” are Catholic and if all are legalized they may sing a different tune come this mid-term election! A tune YOU people may not like.

  • Clem

Well I think if those up there in the White House ( President Obama and his family included) Congress and Senate and their families included want this bill so badly .. let them opt out of their special healthcare plans they are getting now and take the same stuff they are wanting for us the AMERICAN PEOPLE to take.. (no partiality to any party ) I believe one congressman or senator had suggested they vote on that and of course it was voted down by all but that one. what’s good for the goose should be good for the gander ..right? What a joke!

  • Kathy

Lets call a spade a spade. Why don’t they just call it the Mary Jo Kopekne Act?

  • Rod

You guys have to know the lefties give with one hand and then take away with the other.
This health care thing Obama wants has nothing to do with ANYONES
health! Palosi is also right in the middle of this thing and she
    is truly a NUT.
Obama will ultimatly fail and so will Palosi and the other lefties
because they are messing with REAL AMERCANS. We the people are up
in ARMS and we will stop them dead in their tracks!!!!

  • keith
