Democrats Find New Ways Of Pushing Through A Public Healthcare Option

October 2, 2009 by

Democrats find new ways of pushing through a public healthcare option Although the Senate Finance Committee rejected amendments to create a national government-run health insurance program earlier in the week, the Democrats were able to push through a provision for state-level public options on Thursday.

The committee voted 12-11 in favor of a proposal by Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington to allow states to negotiate with private insurers on behalf of low-income people to provide affordable insurance.

In explaining her proposal, Cantwell said that "hard-working Americans deserve choices for better coverage in the private insurance system," quoted by TheStranger.com.

However, she emphasized this is not a substitute for a federal public option, which she vowed to fight for.

Government-run health insurance is facing staunch opposition, mainly from congressional Republicans who claim it will drive private insurers out of business and lead to a government takeover of healthcare.

Some of them have proposed creating nonprofit health insurance cooperatives that could negotiate coverage as a collective for their members and provide the competition that many believe is required to drive down costs and boost efficiency.

However, most liberal Democrats – including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – have rejected the idea of creating co-ops at the federal level.

Nancy Pelosi does not live in the real world. She does not understand the high costs people face. I remember when the Democratic party used to stand for the working class. Not any more.

    • Mark

My goodness…I’m a Republican, but I have to say that all I’ve heard from Democrats for the last couple of years is help the middle class this…assist the poor with that….raise wages…less loopholes for the wealthy …make sure all Americans get this…and so on…

      • Beberoni

And they have always said that. Problem here is, words are cheap. Anyone can say anything. Actions speak louder than words, and all I see is a bunch of Democrats that are far wealthier than their Republican counterparts, but somehow they continue to trick the minority groups into thinking somehow that they are poor and middle class and represent them, when it couldnt be farther from the truth. When Al Gore ran against Mr. Bush, he could have bought and sold Mr. Bush 3 times or more with his wealth. In fact, in almost every election the democrat always is worth more money. McCain had more than Obama just because he was on this earth for 100 more years, but other than that, the Democrats by are far are the rich guys. Heck, they own all the TV stations and big newspapers, and it seems they own a whole lot more than Republicans do. So how it has came to be that the minority populace thinks the Republicans are the rich guys and the democrats are the poor guys, shows the education level of these people needs to be worked on, because if they dont want the rich guys in office, they need to quit voting democrat.

    • JeffH

You should be careful beause, in Pelosi’s own words, you are un-American with your thoughts.
I honestly believe that whatever they come up with shoud be put on a National Ballot for the citizens and taxpayers to decide. That means if you are not a citizen, you cannot have one word to say about it. Let the people decide, It is our money anyway!

      • Dagmar D.

I totally agree with a National Ballot for the U.S. Citizens to decide by voting for or against the health care bill.
Something this HUGE, that affects so many people must be decided by the people!
That includes some issues that go before our Supreme Court…must be voted on by the people, not by the Supreme Court – we have no voice with the Supreme Court Justices, and that is also wrong.
This great country is still “for the people and by the people.

Before 1938 if you got sick, most likely you went to the local drugstore, told the druggist your problem. The druggist going by his own experience, knew what doctors had prescribed for your problem. He sold you the medicine you needed. But the doctors were really unhappy about this because they didn’t get to make any money off you! So acting through their “union”, the AMA, they got the Roosevelt administration to pass laws requiring you to get a prescription from a doctor in order to buy medicine from the same drugstore, the same druggist who had been taking good care of you before. Now you had to first go to the doctor, pay his office fee, get a prescription from him for the same medicine you’d been taking. And because the doctor now had the power of “government” behind him, he now controlled your access to medicine. He could make you make more frequent office visits, force you to have lab tests, anything he wanted because he controlled your life thanks to the “government”. No longer could you buy medicine from the drugstore. No longer could the druggist suggest to you what you needed and sell the medicine to you! Now the doctor controlled your access to medicine and he (or she) had control over your life. Yes, you could switch to another doctor, but your new doctor belonged to the same “union” as your first doctor, and he or she had just as much control over your life as did your previous doctor! In 1938, the American people were “sold down the river” to the health care industry by the Roosevelt administration. Both major political parties supported this policy then, both major political parties today support this policy. The Tea Party supports this policy. There is only ONE political party that opposes this turning the American people into serfs controlled by the US medical industry. Only one. No other, neither “right” or “left” opposes the monopoly of prescription laws. ONLY the LIBERTARIAN party opposes these laws!
So if you vote Democrat or Republican, you are still voting to remain a serf. To allow “government” to control your health. To allow the health care providers to blackmail you into paying them for the privilege of access to medicine! Do you want to remain a serf? The choice is up to you! Join the Libertarian Party! Vote Libertarian! You’ll feel much better after you do!

    • JeffH

Unfortunatley, there are few politicians that have any idea what the citizens needs are, but they are quick to pull the trigger and tell you what they think you need.

      • http://www.lp.org Jerome Bigge

The “licensed professions” depend upon the power of “government” to make themselves rich. For doctors, it is the power of prescription laws that makes them wealthy. Their control over the supply of medicine. By this control over the supply of medicine they can force people to make unnecessary office visits, take unnecessary lab tests,
(they often have their own labs), and therefore enrich themselves by holding the power to deny us medicine if we don’t do what they want! The lawyers operate the same way in the field of law. Another “legal monopoly” protected by the “government” from the competition of the free market. Nor can we say that these laws benefit the public. They only benefit the “bottom line” of the licensed professionals. Did you know that it is now required that you obtain a prescription to buy heart worm pills for your dog or cat? Are dogs and cats people who require the “protection” of government? Or is this just another means that is used to put more money into the pockets of a professional class? I think most readers will agree that these laws benefit no one but the government licensed professionals who use the power of government enforced laws to enrich themselves at the expense of the rest of us! So if you want to really get “government” out of your life, vote LIBERTARIAN in 2012!

    • Patricia Jines

Robin, Nancy Pelosi knows exactly what she is doing. Her motivation is greed. Unadulterated greed. When a politician such as Pelosi promotes a policy that anyone can see that it is unsound, then we can know that the decision is based on greed. There has to be an hidden agenda. When a politician votes to ignore fraud and corruption, there is a hidden agenda. When a politican votes to obliterate transparency, there is an hidden agenda. Honest people don’t behave in such a manner. An honest person has compassion. Why did she not work to release the water for the farmers in the largest fruit and vegetable producing area in her state. There has to be greed, there has to be an hidden agenda. Why would a politicia stand up in front of Congress and lie about her knowledge of controversial issues. The hidden agenda flourishes. And why would Pelosi promote millions of our tax dollars in the stimulus to be spent on grape study? When masses need jobs. The reason is she and her family own massive vineyards. Now improving the strains of grapes would be very helpful to her bottom line, even though it was earned on the backs of needy people. Lets vote these people out. Lets start right now looking for honest people to serve the government and who are willing to “clean house of the corruption.

      • JeffH

Tell it like it is girl! I forgot about the grape/vinyard connection.

      • eyeswideopen

Patricia, the reason Pelosi, wanted to spend money on a grape study is that the US wine, grape and grape products are a 168 Billion dollar industry in this country. They employ 1.1 million full time employees and half of all wineries are small with fewer than five employees. There are wine industries throughout the entire country, not just one state. Hope this helps you.

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

True, they are nationwide, as the Pennsylvania wines blow the California wines away, allthough the California wines bring big bucks because people think they are better if they pay more for them. 2 buck Chuck beat them all in the wine tasting, and it pissed them off. But Pelosi is doing this, because there is money to be made in her family, and that is the only reason, so dont be fooled. She is a plastic as a credit card. A total phony. Oh, and the lies? Makes Bill Clinton look like the Pope.

      • eyeswideopen
      • libertytrain

        Interesting comment – thanks.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Its not just her. 90 percent or more of the democrats only do things to back their agenda to make money for themselves and their families. They are in bed with the mobs and the unions, and could care less about the poor and middle class that they continually hoodwink with their control of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, and the majority of the national newspapers. A lot of these poor and middle class dont get out a lot, and they really believe the crap these news outlets put on the tube and in their daily newspapers, and they have fallen prey to this left wing propaganda and dont even know it. Education is the key, and I dont mean a diploma or degree. I mean getting educated into the ways of politics, of who stands for what and who they really are. If people did that, Mr. Obama would not have gotten elected, because really, after close to a year, we really still dont know what he stands for. He is like a fart in the wind, going wherever the wind blows.

        • http://www.lp.org Jerome Bigge

If you want to “educate” yourself, get a library card, visit your public library. I read about a 100 books a year and I’ve been doing it since I could drive. Look for “LIBERTY DEFINED” by Ron Paul. He’s not 100% Libertarian, but better than most Republicans. One of the best Libertarian books is “HEALING OUR WORLD” by Dr. Mary J. Ruwart. If you can’t find it in your library, Amazon.com has it.

  • Cheryl

In the article Cantwell indicated the “public option” is facing staunch opposition from Congressional Republicans – Great!!. Never once have I heard the comment that it is the “people/citizens” of the United States that are against this. All I ever hear is “congressmen” or “senators”; “republicans” or “democrats”. Hey, they work for us!! I feel like we are not heard or represented any longer – they are up there running this country without ever listening to what we want. Calling us anti-american or unpatriotic for opposing their ideas, this has to stop. Their ideas should be our ideas….period!! They need to quit thinking for themselves.

    • Mark

      your right !

    • Geo Kinerson

The way to stop it is in 2010 by voting, if we are in doubt of a fare voting system, then we need to inact the 2nd amendment and that would bring millions to Washington DC ARMED. But watch it! they are scamming every way possible to hang on until they can get your guns away from you inorder to violate your rights in all areas…And all of the democrats in office right now are so drunk on power, they may even want to try to remove any voting rights in the future.

      • eyeswideopen

        http://www.Newsmax.com/insidecover/gun_control_d.c./2008/01/13/64033.html

Where were you when this was happening? Don’t remember any revolt or fear from the gun owners then!!

      • eyeswideopen

Geo, you probably weren’t reacting as there wasn’t a black man as President at that time.

        • Cheryl

Where did that come from? You should be ashamed of yourself for even implying that his issue with the government or any comments he made have anything to do with the color of our president. Obviously you are the one with the problem since you go there without any provocation.

          • eyeswideopen

Cheryl, you are right, I am so used to the radical racist group of Obama haters calling for a civil war to remove him, that I missed the name of a new person, I apologize to you and to him. Sincerely sorry. If you stay here long enough you will get to enjoy the hate mongering yourself.

          • April

I don’t hate Obama the human being; but his socialist policies and his anti-American agendas I sure do abhor. Hating evil is a right and good thing. One has to be evil to defend him. One has to be a racist and quite desperate to bring race into this. GRACIOUS!!

          • libertytrain

April – you don’t need to feel apologetic about not being thrilled about the current president. I think you are right, this constant, ridiculous referral to a “race card” does smack of desperation by those who continually try to play it – it’s just silly and illogical to cast every person who does not agree with the president as a racist.

          • Cheryl

You know what really gets me about the “race card”? How can you call anyone racist for disagreeing with him because he is black? The man is half black-muslim / half white! I wish everyone would stop. We need to look at what is going on – who cares what color the president is.

          • ccg

Exactly Cheryl, who cares what color he is. What I care about is the way he conducts his business. His business is my business because it affects me (and you) greatly. He is wrong for our country. He is taking this country down a path that is not healthy or wise or even good. For other countries to warn Obama that he is making the same mistakes that they made and failed at, and for him to ignore them, is sick.
He acts like he is still campaigning, but that’s because he is just a community organizer and this is not a community, it is a whole country. He is just not capable of doing the job that unfortunately he was elected for.

          • JeffH

The “race card” is a desperate defensive tool. Most Americans, from all walks of life, don’t buy into it. I don’t like Obamas ideals and his socialist ties to the anti-Americans. I also don’t trust government as it has become a web of half truths and deception and, very often, straight up lies. Obama is no differant because he inherited a failing economy. Apparently he would like to finish the deal in grand fashion except for the interferance of Fox and crew keeping Americans on top of the news.

          • JeffH

…forgot to mention web sites like “Personal Liberty” and others that allow all of us to participate with our comments and thoughts, good, bad or indifferant.

yep, you are correct – all of us are allowed.

Next talking point for you all will be cloture. Watch for it, you will be ranting and raving about cloture soon.

          • eyeswideopen

Very impressed that Bob,did not print what Freedom Guard was saying. This site sure didn’t need anymore radical comments, than what we already have.

          • Get it right.

Jeff, yes, Bob does gives us a site, and he asks that we refrain from name calling, which you totally ignore when you are calling someone a “troll” over 29 times and bragging about it. You are being disrespectful to him, now. That woman certainly has gotten under your skin. Your response is typical of someone has no agruements to support your stance.

          • JeffH

I have obviously gotten under your skin also! How does it feel to be the newest member of the “TROLL BRIGADE”. Oh my, #30!

          • keith

see my definition of a troll further up.

          • eyeswideopen

Liberty, you can hate him and that’s fine, but to make up reasons why is the problem. And when the reasons can be debunked as he is doing the similar things that a previous president did, and you can’t prove he is taking anything from you,,, what do you attribute the hate too? You didn’t see this kind of hate when Clinton was in office did you? You didn’t see this kind of hate when the Dem’s had control of both houses of Congress in 1987 thru 1993, or from 1971 thru 1980. What do you attribute this hate too? Even when Carter, who was not very capable was in office, the hate, and name calling didn’t register what it is today, so a fair conclusion is the man is black and the white rednecks don’t like it one bit. It is a fear of becoming the minority as the latins are increasing and the blacks are getting educated and voting, the white republican party is shrinking and it scares the hell out of you all. Hell, Clinton, lied and deserved to be impeached, but you weren’t calling him a Nazi, Socialist, Commie. You weren’t making ridiculous claim of your country being stolen. Think about it objectively for once. Reread these comments with an objective eye and just ask yourself if Jesus were standing here, would he say, no, I don’t want that person to have healthcare, let them die??

          • libertytrain

You sure are quick with the “hate” word – I never said I hated him – I don’t think I’ve seen anyone but you say we all hate Obama. I don’t care for his style, I didn’t like Clinton, I’m not crazy about a few of the things George W. Bush did, but Hate – no, that’s a word you keep using. I think of hate as kind of an ugly word requiring incredibly ugly deeds. I hate what the Nazi’s did to the Jews, Catholics and Gypsies. I hate people being murdered by dictators, I hate that slavery still exists today. But I have never hated the presidents – past and current. Not caring for someone’s style does not equal hate. And, I don’t have a party affiliation -
You try so hard to belittle people – I’m beginning to think you really are filled with hate – I don’t know why, and I am so sorry for you – you must be terribly sad.

          • JeffH

Why no threats of rioting in the streets when our interest rate climbed to 22% on a mortgage? Carter didn’t get this kind of treatment, and neither did Clinton, who lied and we had proof. There was no Nazi talk, or talk of a dictator. I think we all know the answer, I don’t like it and you won’t admit it, but we all know why!!

April, so anyone that you don’t like and another person defends is evil. How did you ever get along with that attitude. Did someone make you God, that you get to decide that someone is evil? Can you name his anti-American agendas? I can’t wait to hear your perception of these agendas.

          • eyeswideopen

April, by the way, Christians are taught not to hate a person. I would like to think that you hate the fact that he isn’t doing what you want him to verus that he is evil, cause then your logic is that you hate him, Cause hating evil is the right thing to do.

          • libertytrain

This comment reminds me of the old adage: “Do as I say, not as I do” -

          • April

Again you twist and see only what you want to see little Miss High and Mighty. I hate the evil deeds(paying thousands of dollars to keep his real birth certificate and documents under lock and key, bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia, honouring the muslim mosque in Turkey yet can’t give the time of day for those who gave their lives, as well as ignoring our National day of Prayer, apologizing for our Great Nation, repromanding an officer before learning the facts, hiring czars like Jennings who want to queer up education, etc.,etc…….). I suspect you are evil, and I do not like you, but I do not hate you. I feel sorry for you as you keep setting yourself up to look really bad. I do not like Obama, but I do not hate him either.

          • april

Who cares what color his skin is, he doesn’t even know. But he sure has surrounded himself with every black, sometimes racist, anti-american radical he can find, put them in power in the white house and call them Czars. Obama is manufactured like a political robot. With all he is up to, just keep watching, he’s there to make sure the once great America becomes a poverty nation. And rite now he has plenty of help, with the most corrupt, power hungry, super rich, poisonous Congress, this country has ever had. I’d say most of them should be in jail for high treason, against this Country. I guess this is what happens when the Congress has soo many lawyers. They say you can get a good marxist, socialist, anti-american, radical degree from Harvard. Just like Obama and lots of his friends……..

          • April

LOLAY Eyes!!!Your the one who has the attitude and can’t get along with ANY body! Who are you to attempt to give Godly advice. Most who try to tell others what Christians are suppose to say and how to think and act are the ones who do not know the Lord themselves, do not know His character, and twists His Word to bring about confusion which is where you dwell proven by the babel and hatred that spews from you. You have no logic.

          • eyeswideopen

April, I have already debunked the Czars issue many times, you need to read a little, Bush 46, Obama 36, Nixon, starting the practice of using czars. Now you are critizing one of the most revered colleges in the world and I suspect that you are jealous. He was President of the Law Review, not easy to attain. Yes that black man was educated there and you weren’t. I am sorry that you didn’t work as hard as he had to, to get there. But hey, in this country it is easy to be black. Everything is handed to you on a silver platter. The whites in this country have never ruled, check out our Senators, number of blacks, number of women? Yes, the white men still rule this country and you better not forget it. Don’t you find it interesting that the largest majority in this country are women and we have very little representation? Oh, that’s right we know our place and we will stay in our place. I suspect you have never left your home town, or you would understand honoring other countries customs when visiting that country. Or maybe you just can’t show respect to anyone who has a different skin color, culture, or religion. I would bet that you are a Baptist and you can’t stand Catholics or Lutherans, or anyone else who isn’t a Baptist. Shame that us repubs couldn’t get past the religion issue (Mormom) or we would have had Mitt Romney as president. Well, darling, enough people were tired of the way us repubs were running the country and now you will just have to tuff it out for the next three years.

          • eyeswideopen

and your choice of cards is commie liberal, and your point is?

          • eyeswideopen

What’s the matter Jeffie, without your group of gun radicals you aren’t participating? Do you need DaveH to be here? I know, there aren’t any really good radicals on board tonight for you to bond with. Sorry.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thats because the troll is a racist, and had proven it with his words over and over again. Last I looked, Barrack Obama was half white, so why does the troll have to go and call him a black man? Hard on a brother.

    • Babydayliner

This poll came out Friday Sep 25, 2009 5:00pm : CBS/NY Times poll: 65% of Americans want a public option. 26% oppose it, 9% have no opinion. Republicans really have a hard time with facts, I believe. So you guys blogging against the health care bill on this site are in the minority.

      • Joe H.

I noticed that you use a poll from ABC (ALL Bout’Clinton) I’m sure they wouldn’t bias it in any way gracious me no!!

      • April

Well, it does appear that we are the minority, but there have been numerous times abc, nbc, cbs, msnbc and the like have been prove to only poll those that agree with their agenda. I have been called to take a political survey a couple of times in my life and when I answered in favour of the conservative side they hung up on me. So I have come to believe that some of these liberal sided stations have an agenda to mislead the people to make it appear we are the minority; therefore I do not always trust the polls. Fox News is pretty good about listing the different polls for the same subject so that folks can see the different numbers. Some enjoy the comparison. Good Luck in your quest.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If you choose to actually believe anything you read in the NY Times, first of all, Id say get a National Enquirer, because there is probably more truth in it, and two, if you honestly believe any political nonsense that comes from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, or MSNBC, then your not seeking the truth, because you are going to get nothing but democratic left wing liberal slants from them, because they are owned by the democrat left wing liberals. Ok? Capish? Understand? Now get educated and realize who you are dealing with with these guys. They arent going to report the dirty truth about their own. Come on now.

        • eyeswideopen

BebE, Cbs owns Simon & Schuster, the publishers of your hero, Glenn Beck’s books. You probably shouldn’t lump them in with all the other BAD BAD companies who are out to get you!!!!!

  • Beverly Petrovic

Nancy Pelosi is not for the people, yes the democratic party use…..
to be for the working class, no longer, they are for themselves….
How dare her, when we have an opinion, that she can call us anti-americans and unpatriotic, i would like to know why none of you are
    following the constitution???????????

    • NANCY VANTWIST

Another ‘woman’ following the the footsteps of poster ‘Cheryl’…both seem to have a one track mind and not really ‘digging’ into the meat of the situation. God Lord…I wonder if these two would have wanted Palin in the seat of VP of the United States??? God help us if this is true!!! More of our citizens need to get an education in the ‘HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES’.

      • Cheryl

Palin would have been better than the VP we have now. My education on the History of the United States is not lacking. I don’t have a problem with Obama being our President as long as he does a good job, which I don’t think he is. What happened to all the things he promised on the campaign trail? You must be one of the “koolaid drinkers” along with eyeswideSHUT I mean eyeswideopen….I am not!!

        • JeffH

Cheryl, whether Palin chooses to stay in politics or not, she was real. She has lived and experienced the normal life of raising a family and facing family hardships, other than the complete smear campaign by the left media and the Democrats. I wonder if the “Rogue” in her will reject the Dems and the GOP?

          • eyeswideopen

Her meal ticket is the elderly Conservatives, known as the base. Since she is out to make money and not serve her state or the country, the best bet is to stay loyal to them.

          • JeffH

At least she doesn’t ask for support from the “TROLL BRIGADE”!

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, when someone is frustrated, they repeat the same mantra, it’s ok you can call me a bit h, I don’t care. I am however hoping that most of the people who think like you do move to AZ. Then we will know where all of you are. Easier for the Big Brother machine to keep track and squash you when needed. LMAO!!

          • JeffH

And Troll eyeswideopen, you should move to California with your liberal extremist ideas, as you would fit right in. Then maybe you can hook up with Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer and celebrate your new found freedoms along with the rest of the remaining sheeple.

        • eyeswideopen

Cheryl, I know babe, it has only been 8 months and he should have already cleaned up the republican mess that took 12 years to create. Did someone tell you he was Super Man? I think preventing a depression, and working on healthcare are two of the things he promised. What else did you think was urgent? Name his promises and the time frame that he gave for solving them. Please remember the year isn’t up yet.

          • JeffH

Hey TROLL. Instead of asking the questions and calling them out, like thw troll you are, why don’t you try to answer one with more than your standard “Bush and the Republicans”.
Seems every time you are called out, you fall into your defensive “Blame the Republicans” mode, or you lay out some lame link that answers or provides nothing related to the issue.
I think most are a little tired of your “charades” and “polly want a cracker” rebuttles. You are fully exposed as a troll everytime you open your mouth with the keyes.

          • Joe H.

I hate to tell you eyes but he hasn’t kept ANY of his promises. Close GITMO nope Get out of IRAQ nope. clearer, more transparent government Noo
Take out the public option on Health care UM nope Costs will necessarily go up on energy bills… I’ll bet that’s one he keeps!!!!

          • Joe H.

Oh, and that Depression? still coming at us!!!! better save a bunch of silver!!!

          • eyeswideopen

Oh, for God’s sake, There is a time table in place for Iraq, Gitmo, the year isn’t up yet. He never said he would take out the public option,, you are losing your mind. Why do you think I can get all the information to slam your lies, if government hasn’t become more transparent? Is that all you’ve got? Those few things? You have a problem, and you and I know exactly what it is.

          • eyeswideopen

Hey, Jeff, I can’t help it if the mess was caused by the previous admin. I was an idiot who helped put that disaster in office, and within a year I was writting letters complaining about his policies, what did you do? Did you even realize that your rights were being subjugated? Did you think it was smart to have 1.8 trillion dollar tax cuts and then start two wars without repealing them? If you look at our tax history, we normally increase taxes so our fighting forces have equipment, etc. Ask me anything, darling, however, if it was something that the Bush admin did, I just can’t rewrite history, much as you would like me too.

          • Cheryl

I want the transparent administration he promised. He looked directly into the camera and promised no pork, however, there was certainly plenty of pork in the stimulus plan. Unfortunately, he didn’t give anyone the opportunity to read it – you know with the “the sky is falling” “this must be passed now”. After it was passed we then find out about all the pork programs that were hidden in it; in the so-called discretionary spending portion of the bill, which amount to $308 billion. Eyes you can go to this website for your proof http://www.usnews.com/money/business-economy/articles/2009/02/19/finding-the-pork-in-the-obama-stimulus-bill.html All this makes me wonder: Didn’t he read it? Why did he lie to us? He promised he would go line by line and cross out any pork, how then did he miss them all. There are many more promises I can mention, but my blog would be way too lengthy. Every president has had similar failings, but during his campaign he so adamantly promised that his administration would be different – where is the change he has promised? I am not seeing it!

          • JeffH

Cheryl, I guess that makes Obama a liar too.

          • eyeswideopen
          • Terrence D

It’s high time all of you pay attention and understand why our healthcare system is broke and will probably never be fixed UNLESS:

The reason the healthcare system, social security and the welfare system is broke is because of the immigrants this government continues to bring in this country.

The facts: since the late 70′s Carter started letting one million immigrants in our nation every year and about 50-60 percent would go straight to one of our government programs.

This has been going on for the last 30 years. These individuals have drained our social security, our welfare system, our healthcare system dry!

Think about it! When you add, at least 500,000, to one of the free government programs year after year it will take its toll. It takes its toll!

Our government programs are based upon people paying taxes year in – year out. When you suddenly have millions who have never paid a nickle into our system to keep our programs afloat It Takes Its Toll!

Most immigrants have never had any vacinations what so-ever and now the government has seen an increase in some of the childhood diseases that was once defeated (when I was a child).

The government finds and then brings in the poorest and sickest people in the world and it taking its toll on the taxpaying citizens of this nation and has been for some time now!

And some of children of these immigrants have now turned on America and actually @plaud such terror groups as Al Queda, Hamas and others. We see it on the news every week about some muslim who has a US passport or US citizen Identification that feels obligated to their original homeland and their cause.

We bring them here and feed them, house them, educate them, give medical services….and it has all been free!
            It takes its toll!

And now many of these same immigrants have betrayed us…many of these same people would love to see another 9/11 or two or three more 9/11s.
And if this isn’t enough the current administration and Congress want to legalize an estimated 15 million more illegal immigrants that are alteady hiding out and working (some).

With the economy and unemployment as bad as it is who do you think is going to pay for all those people?

Most would go straight to some (already burdened) government program.
And still the government does not know how many of those illegals are really terrorist that are just hiding out waiting for their moment.

Many of these immigrants have since been allowed to bring many more family members to America…and, of course, living off the taxpayers AGAIN!

They not only bring their filthyness, sickness and diseases and poverty to America that the taxpayers are paying for but, most important, they have brought their pagan ways and Gods with them!

America has been cursed for being stupid…not for being kind and generous but for being stupid!

In the bible (old testament) the true God warns the Israelites many times about letting other nations bring their pagan ways and Gods to Israel.

When Israel failed to listen to God’s warning they were punished…and sometimes severely.

America is now at the same cross roads that Israel was at then. America has simply ignored the warnings and those who cannot see what is happening is simply blinded by their own pagan god.
Their is one solution! Close the immigration gate and send those who want to live according to their original country’s laws packing…let them take their pagan ways and their pagan gods with them!

Amerca would solve many problem by sending them packing ASAP!

          • JeffH

Terrence D, I have expanded on your comments further down and will provide athe link here also that has very supportive but shocking information related to your comments.

          • JeffH

Cheryl, TROLL eyeswideopen’s arguement is meaningless, despite the earmarks that the Republicans and Democrats have tallied up so far. The fact remains that Obama LIED about “NO NEW EARMARKS”, plain and simple!
The thieves in government never met an earmark they didn’t like. Obama never lied to the American people! NOT!

          • Get it right.

Terrance, President Regan, granted amnesty to two million immigrants. Do you not think that they had an impact on Calf. resources? They also had an impact on my taxes. Why do you think we didn’t get upset then? Just asking.

          • eyeswideopen

Terrance, Pres. Bush tried to get immigration reform passed, but the Congress didn’t want to support him. I give him credit, at least he tried. 60 Senators voted against it, 37 Republicans and 23 Democrats.
We could have already been seeing results if the Senators had backed him on this issue.

          • Cheryl

Eyes: The bill was not provided until after. No one was afforded the opportunity to read the whole thing before it was rushed through. It was provided in paper format not electronic, but without the time for anyone to properly review the document as it should have been. No one could get through that massive of a document in the time frame they gave. After all the sky was falling. This is the issue -this is not transparent government. I want the transparency that President Obama said would happen. Now the same thing is going to happen with Health Care Reform. It will be just like his contributors during the campaign – he refused to name them and now we have teachers unions coming forward saying they illegally contributed their union members dues to the Obama campaign without the knowledge of the union members. Where does the dishonesty end? I know this type of dishonesty didn’t begin with Obama, but he certainly looked us straight in the camera and said he would be a different president, that this would be a different administration. I now believe that he lied, lied, lied to us on many fronts and am very afraid of where we are headed.

        • Babydayliner

Wow, Cheryl we are drinking the koolaid, you say. Yet I think you are drinking something a lot stronger if you think Sarah Palin would be a better VP then what we already got. Then I hear you say Obama hasn’t kept his promises that he proposed on the campaign trail. I believe he has and then some. Middle class is already seeing a tax cut. (compare your federal taxes you are paying now compared to recent years)President Obama has vowed to put the economy back on track. Certain parts of the economy is making a comeback. (Auto industry, Banks, Wall Street, Housing industry, Energy, Consumer Spending) Economics 101, jobs is always the last thing to make a full recovery from a recession. He also promised no more torture, spying, Closing Gitmo by next year, leaving Iraq, He signed a Credit Card Bill that helps us the consumer from getting ripped off by Credit card companies, and now hopefully Health Care for all Americans. So I don’t know what you are talking about Cheryl. P.S. Obama promised he won’t take your guns away. lol

          • Cheryl

I am new to this forum, but WOW, it is unbelievable how smug you and others are in your retorts to the bloggers here. Was the comment about taking my guns away really necessary? It really shows what a sad little bitter man you are. Do you not own a gun as well? or have someone close to you that owns a gun? If so you are insulting them as well. No president is perfect – this one included. And, yes, I think Sara Palin would make a great VP – she has more political experience than our President does. There are negatives and positives about everybody – we all deserve our own opinion without being belittled and isulted. Do you really think Joe Biden is a good VP? He has a run away mouth that needs to be put into check!

          • eyeswideopen

Cheryl, you compare being a mayor of less than 10,000 and a gov. with a population less than most of our large cities, with a Senator who is responsible for a couple of million people? Did you miss the head liner that she quit prior to fulfilling her term? Got out of that kitchen as it was really hot, and could make more money on the political circuit. Do you think she learned that the V.P doesn’t make the laws in this country? Do you live in Jonestown? The gun remark was probably made as all you rt wingers have the same talking points. Same Czar complaint, same we want our country back, same fema camps, same socialist, same commie Nazi’s, same force of government, same blind force, same death panels, same he isn’t a citizen, same taking our rights away, same impeachment, same killing us with vaccines, same old, same old ridiculous talking points handed to you by the Republican Senators and Faux news. We know exactly what you will be saying. Only problem is you can’t back them up with facts.

          • JeffH

The fact is, you are pretty much in isolation on your views. You get some support, but minimal at best. Keep up the good work, and chant “YES WE CAN”!

          • Cheryl

Eyes, Babydayliner, NANCY VANTWIST; Obama barely has any Senate experience. He sponsored only 129 bills in the four (WOW) years he was in the Senate and only wrote 1 bill himself that was enacted.
            S. 2125 [109th]: Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act of 2006
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s109-2125 which didn’t even help the US.
Conclusion: Obama has written 0 bills himself that help the US that were enacted in nearly 4 years in the senate. All he has done is vote on bills, piggyback on other people’s bills, and introduce bills that mostly get shot down in committee. Obama’s lack of foreign policy experience consists of a visit to Pakistan when he was in college and two travels to the Middle East since being elected to the Senate. If Obama’s trips overseas are considered qualifying foreign policy experience then Palin has nearly the same as she has taken a trip to Iraq to visit the troops. But additionally Palin as Governor of Alaska has had to deal with foreign entities on a regular basis as Alaska is a major hub for importing and exporting and oil is the major industry of the State which involves dealing with many foreign entities both from a foreign business and foreign governmental stand point. She was the only candidate in the race with elected Executive experience and while Obama had been campaigning for the Presidency from nearly day one in the US Senate, Palin was in the Alaska State Capitol dealing very successfully with the executive responsibilities of being the Governor of a State; reforming a corrupt State Government, reducing taxes, dealing with foreign entities that have daily business with her State, using her VETO pen to reduce State spending, building an oil pipe line to help meet the energy needs of Alaska and the United States sending a son to the Army and shortly to Iraq and still having a baby and raising a family. In short the man is not experienced enough to be President of the United States and it is showing more and more every day. Mrs. Palin would make a fine VP, even President if you only require the same level of experience as the current one.

        • April

Shoot!! Palin’s credentials out-weighs Obama’s by a great deal far.

          • JeffH

Obamas leadership qualities are sure coming to the forefront, uhh, mmmm, ehhh, uhhh! Soros must be out of reach, Obama can’t make a decision without the “Soros” input!

          • Get it right.

Jeff, Apparently the world has a higher opinion of President Obama, than you do. He was awarded the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, today and out of 205 nominees he was the winner. It is probably a good thing that the international communities don’t view the web sites that show how the uneducated and elderly population respond to change. You profess to want the government reduced but I have yet to see any recommendations on how you propose to accomplish that feat. I was hoping that DaveH would repond to Eyeswideopen, as I am interested in his ideas, on what we could do to make government more efficent. In the early 80′s my late husband was a Libertarian, but as time went on he changed his party. He often stated that the Republicans and Democrats would never allow a third party, who didn’t have concise plan on how to reduce and redefine the government agency’s we had in place. I have remained a Republican, however I vote my conscience and not always the party line. I suppose you will now attack me, in the same way that you have attacked, Eyeswideopen, Norm, Smilee, Pete, etc. but at my age, I don’t get hurt feelings anymore. Just thought I would ask you some questions, and state some observations. Regards.

          • JeffH

Get it right…I have never claimed that I was a genius and had all of the answers!
In response to The Nobel Peace prize for Obama, not bad for someone who had been in office less than two weeks when he was nominated. He even said he “didn’t” think he deserved the award. I guess those that nominated and voted for him must have had a vision, why else would he have voted for him.

      • ccg

Your name VanTwist sure fits you. There is a lot in a name. Twist the facts to suit yourself, twist common sense, twist truth. You serve a twisted master.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If the Republicans were smarter, they would have ran Sarah Palin and used McCain as the VP, and they would have won easily. You seem to not understand the reason they lost, is no one wanted a 150 year old man as president. The republicans should have known better. People are tired of career politicians, and McCain was one of them. They only reason they lost. Palin would have won by a landslide. See you in 2012.

    • eyeswideopen

Beverly, you all certainly aren’t following the Constitution, maybe you should read it, before spouting off. Your little group cannot hijack the Constitution as it belongs to all of us. Our founding fathers set this country up as a Constitutional Republic, which John Adams stated: “A government of laws, and not of men”. A constitutional republic is designed so that “no person or group (can) rise to absolute power.” Don’t you believe in your Constitution? If you did, you would believe that it will stand the test of having a black president. None of your rights have been taken away by THIS president, you might want to check what Bush did for you, but the record shows, that Obama has not taken any away, and he is working to restore/ repeal the Patriot Act, which did take away your right of privacy.

      • JeffH

The repetition of the Troll…Bush, Bush, Republicans, yada yada yada.

        • eyeswideopen

Have to keep repeating as you stopped being objective and went over to the other side, screaming that ,” They are taking our guns away.”
Your response to the two links showing the repubs had gun control law in 1999 and 2008, without any of the gun owners rioting, was a tickle to the funny bone.

          • JeffH

At least I was “man enough to respond intelligently” Troll. Polly want a cracker?

          • eyeswideopen

jEFF, DARLING, you response made no sense. The repubs passed gun control and Obama has no pending legislation to take away your guns. Your statements are just a rallying cry to get the radicals rioting in the streets. Show me a bill, memo, anything where Obama is stating he will take your guns away. He is allowed to have personal views on things without trying to do what Bush did. He is trying to restore your privacy rights that were hijacked when the Patriot Act was passed. We gun owners can now carry on Amtrak and in Federal Parks, but that doesn’t mean anything to you does it? Nothing will make you happy as you hate him on a personal basis, without him doing anything to you. Sad, very sad.

          • April

And Clinton was President and the Dems controlled the House in 1999. And in 2008, Yes Bush was President but the Dems filled the seats. Go figure!

I have based my comments about Obama and his anti-gun position based on facts and his 100% support and votes on anti-gun issues. Easy to check his voting record, if you weren’t too busy “TROLLING”!

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, are you really an idiot or what? How you voted ten years ago, is that how you will vote today? Oops, knowing you, yes you probably will. What you do as a rep of a single state, and what you do as president are different. He has to now conside all of us, not just his own state. Therefore, his own personal beliefs will not be able to be on the table, if the majority, get that word?, majority of the citizens, (hey guess what that includes me, not just you!!), do not want what is being proposed. History of this country, MAJORITY RULES!!! You people are showing how devoid of just common sense you are. When you are representing just yourself, you are free to state your own opinions, however when you represent others, you must put your own opinion on the back burner and rep. the MAJORITY!!

          • JeffH

TROLL, you just keep on believing yourself.

Some guy keeps running the stop sign down the corner from my house. I know its Bush’s fault.

      • Joe H.

I suppose that making it manditory to have insurance or face a fine isn’t taking away your rights? See, what you liberalites haven’t realized is that there is a difference between social programs and socialist programs. Socialist programs leave you no choice whether you join or not! medicare? I can choose not to participate. Military? I could be a concientious objector and never go to war. There were many of them when I was in Viet Nam. O-man compares this plan to car insurance but with that I can choose not to own a car and ride a bike or get rides from friends there are many that do that. When you have a choice it’s a social program when they take the money out of your pocket it’s socialism or down right theft!

        • eyeswideopen

          JOE,
I am tired of paying for you people, like DaveH, who don’t have insurance, and when the tragedy strikes, off the hospital you go and up goes my premium. Unless you who have no insurance have a tatoo stamped DNR on your forehead, please remember that your selfishness causes other people higher taxes and premiums. I didn’t work hard my whole life so I could underwrite the rednecks who spend more money on their guns and ammo, neglecting to bother to get insurance, feeling they are invincible and have other things to spend their money on.

          • JeffH

You know the American people so well. I’ve heard no mention of the 15-20 million illegal aliens that are allowed to drain the coffers of the taxpayers. Nancy Pelosi says “leave them alone”! It would be un-American to turn our backs on them!

Illegal alien migration into the United States costs American taxpayers $346 billion annually reported by the National Research Council. While employers of illegal aliens rake-in billions of dollars, the US citizens subsidize what may be called organized “Slavery in 21st Century America.”

While Congress facilitates outsourcing, insourcing and offshoring of American jobs by the thousands weekly, that same Congress imports 182,000 legal immigrant monthly who need jobs. Another estimated 100,000 illegal aliens arrive each month without jobs. All those immigrants seize jobs from American citizens at slave wages.

Troll, you might want to retract your comments based on the above infl!

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Hey dumb (WORD REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT), wait and see what your stinking premiums are going to be like if we get this Obama care. Oh yeah, you and I are both going to pay for it, but you cant see it yet can you? Let me be the first to tell you. I told you so.

  • NANCY VANTWIST

Thank goodness…..at last something possitive has been done. AND CHERYL………don’t forget that for the past eight years those running this country seemed to have forgotten the “people/citizens” of the United States. It will take a long time to undo the mess made by Bush and Company. All we are not suffering started with the last administration and all Bush’s cronies and sucking up to the Saudi and big business……..this old woman could go on and on but anyone with any brains will get what I mean….am driving at…or whatever!!!!

    • eyeswideopen

Nancy, get ready for the onslaught of nasty remarks. Bush did no wrong on this site. Some cannot admit that Bush made financial mistakes, intelligence mistakes (Iraq), personal freedom mistakes(Patriot Act). Basically he was their God, and they don’t like to look in the past (don’t know how they will learn from mistakes?) as they then cannot continue to critize Pres. Obama. Glad to have you here.

      • Cheryl

Did you even read my remarks? I never mentioned “Bush” or “Obama” or any president directly for that matter. I was referring to our out of control government and how they are doing what they want, not necessarily what the people want. I realize this problem didn’t start with Obama and it is not a partisan issue either; both parties are equally at fault and so are we for not having done something about it.

        • JeffH

Tell it like it is Cheryl! You go girl.

        • s c

The idea that GB has ‘protected status’ and was never seen as someone who needs to change his ways on this web site is a LIE. Remember, ultralib kooks are programmed. They are not allowed to have independent minds. They tend to have no conscience, and they parrot the same garbage they’ve been spoon-fed for so many years.
They can’t understand that an open mind can see GB for who he is. They can’t understand that many of us also see comrade obama for who he is. Kooks have all the ‘dialogue’ and research talents of a 3 year old brat (on a good day).
By choice, they can’t tell a lie from the truth (it’s so convenient that way). Keep watching the feedback. When major newspapers finally disappear, kooks may have to listen to the radio (gasp!), and they may have to watch ‘other’ TV networks
(the horror!). With a little luck, they may be so bombarded with the truth that they wind up being de-programmed (a fate worse than being a moderate!). The vacuum between their ears will have to be filled with something, and it might as well be conservatism. Then they can claim to have at least a basic understanding of the Constitution. They might seek freedom from totalitarian slime who infest Washington and tout change,
          transparency and slime-coated ‘reform.’

          • eyeswideopen

S.C. you people don’t read newspapers and only watch one cable t.v show called Fox. You are describing exactly what you are doing. So, sad, very, very, sad.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Maybe eyeswideshut should watch Fox. The truth might help him out of the funk he is in. Denial is not a river in Africa.

      • Joe H.

        Eyes,
Sure Bush did wrong, any idiot can see that but he’s not in office anymore is he? I didn’t see O-man try to stop the stimulus package. I didn’t see him try to stop the take over of GM and CHRYSLER. And unconstitutionally fire the CEO. He doesn’t have the power to fire civilians from their positions. And yes he DID promise to take the government option out of the health care bill. And he DID lie when he said no illegals would be covered by the health bill. The supreme court has said you can’t legally discriminate between the people living here, whether illegally or not!! He knew that at the time he said no illegals, so therefore he lied!!!

        • eyeswideopen

Joe, he didn’t fire him, the board of directors fired him. Obama, gave his opinion, which he is supposed to do when asked. You people need to read about the depression and a little economics, would help, or maybe just read the history of our tax system, it is an easy read. If you think things are bad now, baby you have no idea of what they could have been. DEREGULATION THE REPUBLICAN MANTRA.

    • JeffH

You and the troll have a lot in common! Senslessness and a very short (8 years only) memory.

      • eyeswideopen

no, Jeff, I remember all the bad things that my party has done since Nixon. I can admit we have made major mistakes, however to become the party of NO, and to make statements to try and kill healthcare reform to make it his Waterloo is not a party that deserves any respect and they have announced that they are not working for the people who put them in office. So, I am now an Independent, who is happy to be free and actively working to make this country better.

        • Cheryl

Everyone needs to be looking beyond party lines at this point. Staying with the old Republican vs Democrat attitude is not going to work anylonger -we need to start looking at the idea itself not who presented or came up with it. When a 1000+ page stimulus plan that will cost over $2.527 trillion dollars in the next 10 years can be passed without it being provided for review and proper debate; our country is in trouble. We as the citizens need to start demanding more transparency and start being actively involved – the days of sitting on our butts and letting them (republicans and democrats alike) run this country into the ground and financial devastation needs to stop. I agree that healthcare costs are out of control, but why does it need to be fixed “right now”? These are not new issues, but I think we need to stop spending or the american dollar is not going to be worth anything. I know their analysts came out with a 800+ billion dollar figure today for the healthcare reform, but I don’t trust their “estimates” at all – look how many times they have underestimated things before…..how far off are they this time? Can we afford to find out later?

        • ccg

Eyes you try to make everyone think you are a Republican, but you are just a plain ole lefty. You think you are smart and wise, and you are, in your own mind. Like Obama, he is so egotistical that he thinks he is better than everyone else. They have a name for that type of personality it is called Narcissistic.

          • JeffH

also names like “TROLL”…with an 8 year memory limit.

          • eyeswideopen

ccg, I’m not smart and wise, or I would have never voted in a person like Bush who had no respect for any of us. However, I have researched and learned from the previous policies, and will never allow myself to just accept what the lying senators are telling us ever again. What would you do differently, if anything? You did you like the Patriot Act? The financial irresponsibility? The lies about the war? The greed of our politicans? Sure sounds like you didn’t see a damn thing wrong with how our leaders ran this country.

          • JeffH

…the 8 year memory has spoken.

          • Get it right.

Jeff, I am noticing that you don’t debate Eyeswideopen, you just make snide comments. If you believed in your stance, you should be able to converse with anyone asking questions of you. To be taken seriously you can’t just dismiss facts using a childish comments. I saw that you are collecting Medicare, so you are old enough to be able to state logically why you so intensely dislike this President. If you can’t, it will be assumed that yours is a personal reason, and that does not speak well of you. Have you ever been the odd man out on an issue? Probably not, it takes courage to stand up to a whole group of people who have labeled you and constantly are degrading you. Pack Dogs comes to mind. You have made some horrible comments on the gun posts. It was interesting that your personality changed to a more aggressive one while bantering back and forth with “the boys”. Eyeswideopen always address’ you using your proper name and only occasionally calls you an idiot, which you are at times, just like all of us are. It is interesting how you treat a woman on this site..you are aware that unlike you, she did serve her country and lost a husband and son, so that you have the right to dismiss her ideas and call her names. How much more do you want her to give up for her country?

          • JeffH

Get it right…you obviously haven’t been around too long. I have my reasons for the way I make some of the posts, and she commands no respect as she give none! She will lure you in with sweet talk then strike like a pit viper the minute she doesn’y agree with someone. I could care less about her background. You get from it what you put into it. I have been intentionally overbearing with her.
Have you ever researched the TROLL definition for bloggers? She fits the description to a tee! If the shoe fits, wear it!

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You sir, are no independant. You are a die hard left wing liberal, which makes you a democrat, I dont care what you call yourself. Actions speak louder than words, and the actions of your words say democrat, democrat, democrat.

  • J C

Public health care in Canada for example is a barely functioning idea.
People are dying on waiting lists…but the hospital walls have nice fresh paint!

    • http://www.chandostransport@eastlink.ca Graeme B

JC you haven’t a clue what you are talking about. At least a family earning $22,000 per annum, has coverage and do not have to go without health insurance. People earning $60,000 per annum do not have to go bankrupt, in Canada, because their so called provider has decided not to pay and they have to go bankrupt. 87% of people going bankrupt in US is due to “health” related so called insurance. The system functions extremely well in Canada but like all systems, is not perfect.

    • Mark

My father married a woman from Toronto and after 5 years of American health care…she moved back to Canada…over and over she told us how pleased she was with the system

      • Smilee

        Mark

Everyone in Canada that I know also loves their plan, the polls up there this summer showed over 80% prefer it to what the US has.

        • Joe H.

          Smiley,
If the plan there is so great, then why are they considering right now bringing back their insurance plan they used to have? Also why do so many people come to the U.S. from there to get services they have to pay cash for? Things like cancer, heart problems, you know the minor things!!!

          • http://www.chandostransport@eastlink.ca Graeme B

            Joe H
The reason someone in Canada would want to bring back insurance is because the current government of Stephen Harper is right wing and is against government run programs in any form.

          • Smilee

Not a serious attempt as the vast majority are very happy with what they have, you would be naive if you believed some in Canada do not have some of the same stupid beliefs we see espoused here. They are a minority there too, You forget to mention that many in the US go to Canada for health care, especially those who live close and cannot get insurance. It saves them about 40% and those that I have seen interviewed say they like the service, they all felt it was as good or better than ours. Canadians steaming to the US, and there are a few, but nothing like the conservative propaganda wants you to believe.

          • JeffH

Smilee , then why won’t government allow the Health Bill proposal to go to a public vote of the citizens? Easy answer, it won’t pass!

          • eyeswideopen

Oh, Jeff, I so wish we could vote, you don’t really want that do you? I say let’s also vote to repeal Medicare and give you all your money back, let you get your own private policy. You Jeff are a socialist participant!!!

          • JeffH

            TROLL eyeswideopen, Baaaaaa Baaaaaa, Baaaaaaa!

    • s c

If Canadian health care is so great, then WHY do Canadian doctors and nurses go back and forth across the America-Canada border to make (more) money in the US? They do it because Canada’s health care isn’t as good as our health care reform scam artists want us to believe.
If we lose about half of our MDs to comrade obama’s non-plan, I suppose America will see an immediate infusion of unqualified, non-graduates who are long on good intentions and short on the right and the ability to practice medicine. Plenty of warm bodies isn’t good enough, people.
According to comrade obama’s group hug formula, a czar with a technical background and an infantile desire to ‘help’ could become an MD overnight. That’s just what we need – more outcome-based failures and a planned economy via Big Government coercion.

      • http://www.chandostransport@eastlink.ca Graeme B

They do it strictly for money, nothing more and nothing less. I personally know doctors who went fo the big bucks but after one year returnd to practice in Canada. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side, or so they think. The Canadian one payer system works like a charm. Examine the gotesque profits paid to insurance companies and their executives, and this on the backs of people who can least afford it.

        • J C

I live in Canada, and I’m an American. Don’t tell me I don’t have a clue…I do! Its a socialist system that works very well as long as you don’t actually get sick. Great for tonsils and stuff. But don’t get cancer or anything serious. Doctors here are doing their best to get people in and out of their office as fast as they can so they can turn in a bill to the government. The bill can only be so much so they don’t want to spend too much time. So they refer you to specialists. Now you go on a waiting list, probably for months because the specialists are swamped and have the same problem as GP’s. They can only bill so much, So the best Doctors leave the country and we get Graduates with degrees from Upper Mongolistan.
And People are dying while on these waiting lists.

The problem in both countries is the same…”TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT”

          • Smilee

YOU DON’T HAVE A CLUE!! YOUR TOTALLY OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY

      • Smilee

They don’t, you make up a lot of stories on here that are not true.

        • April

Smile, I am suspicious that you made up the poll story of 80%, since the makin up was your idea. JC’s account is not a poll. It’s life experience over there witnessed by him, and agrees with other accounts I’ve heard.

          • http://www.chandostransport@eastlink.ca Graeme B

Try and change the health care system in Canada and you will have a riot on your hands. Hence over 90% of people want the current system. JC sounds like he lives in Alberta (Oil country) and they are against government involvement of any form. Thats why all the members except one from Alberta are right wing idealogues

          • Smilee

April, nice try, Two newspapers conducted that poll last summer one reported 81% the other 82% in favor of their plan over ours. This story was widely reported in this country at that time and you apparently missed that. No I did not make them up, lies are not my style as is the case so much on this site, Graeme gets it too.

          • April

I did miss those polls. I have come to not trust polls over time so I do sometimes ignore them. I have heard more along the lines of JC from all around the world. But thanks for clearing up the poll info on Canada. It depends on who’s polling tho. Obviously two different polls on the healthcare subject there so far.

          • eyeswideopen

Grame, I so wish all of our rightees were located in one area. We could just let them run their little piece of heaven and leave the rest of us alone.

        • ccg

AND SMILEE we should trust your newspapers because? They are so fair, they don’t make up stories like you? Ha. All I have heard from Canada and England is how bad their health care is. If you think its so great over there why don’t you move to Canada and prove it. Otherwise open your eyes and ears and listen. But you and Eyes have a different mentality.

          • April

Excellent point! I have heard the same info from the different interviews that I have come accross.

          • JeffH

I have seen several interviews of people from Canada that had to get their “life threatening health surgeries” in the US, because there were others ahead on the list with a higher priority. They said they couldn’t be treated until their illness reached a certain stage. It doesn’t sound like preventative surgeries hold much water in Canada.
I am relaying the story, not judging Canadas health system as I know almost nothing about it. Based on what I heard, it makes me very wary about government run health care and the track record for government run “anything” isn’t strong at all.

          • ccg

I read about a woman who upon learning she was pregnant called the Dr. for an appt. They informed her they could see her in 12 months. That’s the Canadian Health Care for ya. Yep, real good care, actually should be they don’t care.

          • eyeswideopen

CCG, who in Canada and England have you spoken to? Surely not just people on this site right? Why don’t you read their newspapers, online and or watch the BBC. Oops, that’s right you think all newspapers lie, except those owned by Murdoch, who also owns Fox.

          • Smilee

            Eyes

They only see and hear the right wing conservative propaganda sources for their info and believe all other sources are not to be believed as that is what the propaganda tells them to believe. They cannot think for themselves and if a real fact jumped up and bit them they would spin it into a lie. Closed minds believe only what they want to believe and any fact then can be construed as a lie. The true is so foreign to them they cannot recognize it. Sad

          • JeffH

The real fact is Obama’s socialistic agenda and connection with GEORGE SOROS and his anti-American influences.

Let the “TROLL BRIGADE” continue with their freedom of speech and expression.

  • Adrienne LaMonte

The job of the Clintons was to see how many lies the American people would believe and they told many. They also started a close relationship with China and I don’t mean a good one. Now, that they knew that the Americans would believe anything they put in an imposter. Obama is doing exactly what he planned. To destroy America, including our soldiers that are fighting for our country. Where’s the Stimulus? Did it go to Acorn and our enemies? By the time the 2010 elections come Obama will have caused irreplaceable damage to our country. Why can’t he be stopped? Impeached? He’s enemy #1.

    • Mark

well this one is just silly…too much Rush, Shawn, Laura & Glen…watch MSNBC a bit and you’ll get a dose of reality

      • Joe H.

        mark,
yeah the reality O-man wants you to have!!!!

    • eyeswideopen

Adrienne, name an impeachable offense? You need to expand your exposure of news sources. Try changing the channel from Fox to anything else.

      • Debbie Parmer

Lying to the American people is an impeachable offense.

        • eyeswideopen

Debbie, name one, I dare you.

        • Smilee

Even presidents have freedom of speech, you may not like that but that is the way it is. I thought that Clinton’s impeachment trial would have convinved you of that, not guilty, remember!

      • Debbie Parmer

Lying to the American people is an impeachable offense.

        • eyeswideopen

I repeat Debbie, name a lie.

          • ccg

You want just one? What about transparency in the White House? Look at the very bills that the House and the Senate are trying to pass, and the Representatives haven’t even gotten to read these bills. He has done nothing but hide the truth and encourage secrecy by keeping things secret so he is nothing but a liar. He does not honor God, he actually despises our country and feels it necessary to go around an apologize to our enemies for who we are and what we are. Look at Valerie Jarrett, his closest adviser she is as crooked as they come. They had to vote to waive her ethics. Now that’s really honest here.
Look at the Czar’s he has been putting in. They don’t even have to be vetted. So we got one that resigned because he was an avowed communist. Now we have another one who is a Czar over the school system who has been part MAMBA who teaches grownups how to have sex with children.
They say you know a person by who they associate with. I know too much about Obama then, and I don’t like his political views nor his ways, nor his moral ethics.

          • JeffH

ccg, one can’t argue with the facts but the Troll will respond with the old “two wrongs make a right” method of blaming Bush so that makes it OK.

          • eyeswideopen

CCG, you are beyond belief. the Czars don’t have to be vetted, Read about how Nixon got the positons started. Transparency, for the bills? You idiot, he doesn’t run the CONGRESS. He doesn’t write the BILLS. He cannot and should not interfere with how the Congress functions. If he did you people would be having cows as you spew the hatred even louder. For goodness sake, stop, look and listen, reading would also prevent you from making such silly statements. This country is in deep trouble, you people have no concept who is responsible for what, what the proper protocol is and when to complain.

          • JeffH

TROLL, it is you that continue to use the term “HATRED” in so many of your posts. I went back through your posts on past blogs, and tallied your use of the word “hate or hatred”. I counted no less than 41 of your past comments that accused others of “hate or hatred” since I have been participating.

            You should really get counseling!

          • BillyJ

Jeff, you have called, Eyes a Troll, and when she is using the word hate, she is using a descriptive word,in a conversation, while you sir, are name calling. You need to do the growing up!! This is an example of the hypocrisy that she calls you out on. I thought BoB, has a Comment Policy for this site? Do you think that you don’t have to abide by the rules? We’ll see.

    • JeffH

WE the people are making our voices heard now, and we can’t let up.
Vote in 2010, and fight the socialists until 2012.

      • eyeswideopen

Jeff, shall we cancel your socialist Medicare? You can’t have it both ways darling. You can’t besmirch the socialists while you are using the resources of the plan. Little hypocritical isn’t it? If you truly hated socialist programs you would not use it. You would sacrifice the money you paid in,for your ethics. But don’t worry, without reform it will be gone by 2016, then you will have no ethical dilemma.
Until then it doesn’t sound very realistic for you to be slamming the socialists who are trying to save your socialist program.

        • Babydayliner

I couldn’t of said it better, eyeswideopen. Bunch of hypocrites blogging here. Conservatives claim they don’t want Welfare, yet they don’t send there Social Security Checks back. They claim they hate affirmative action, yet they put Sarah Palin on the VP ticket during the time Hillary Clinton was running for President. Then Micheal Steele is the first African American to chair the Republican National Committee. Where did they get that idea from? For all those who don’t know Conservatism means or refers to various political and social philosophies that support tradition and the status quo. That basically means no change, no progress, regression, oppression of ideas.

          • Cheryl

Eyes and Baby: What are you two talking about? Social Security is not a socialist program. You pay money into the program your whole life and in return you receive money back to assist you with living expenses when you have retired. The only thing socialist about the program is that illegal aliens who never paid a dime into the program also receive social security assistance. Something for nothing – Socialist attitude all the way. This entire administration is based on socialist ideals – they want to spread the wealth – everybody gets something even if they didn’t do anything to deserve it! For those of us working for a living that is a point of contention…is it not for you?

          • ccg

Babydayliner, sounds like a diaper full of ***, which is what your opinion is worth. You want to see a hypocrite go look in the mirror.

          • JeffH

Then, to you, socialism is a good thing?

          • JeffH

Two TROLLs don’t make a right! Polly’s got a playmate, want a cracker.

          • eyeswideopen

Cheryl, you are truly and idiot, and I won’t be bothering to debunk anything you say… run free little baby, run free.

          • eyeswideopen

Cheryl, I didn’t say anything about Social Security. Please read my post again. Thanks.

          • Cheryl

Eyes, Baby did. I was responding to that. My point is that benefits are being paid out to those that don’t pay in. This is an issue that covers years of presidents, congress and senate. It is an issue that we are now going to see within Health Care Reform. It is what makes these socialist programs and I don’t agree with it. Spreading the wealth is not a good thing.

These statements should be in every book in every school room in every city in every state in our great Nation. Our educators should make a lesson plan on these statements and instill these words in the minds of all students.
*”You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.”
*”What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.”
*The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.”
*When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.”
*You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it…”
            Adrian Rogers, 1931

        • JeffH

Oh Troll, I missed the point. Can I decide whether I participate in Medicare or not? Do I have choices? Will government “Fine” me for not participating? Can I choose private insurance if I choose to do so? In the socialist HC being proposed, I would be “FORCED” to participate and face a fine if I did not!
          BIG DIFFERANCE!

          • JeffH

So I ask, “WHO IS THE IDIOT NOW”?

          • Smilee

            JeffH

You still are the idiot jeff, and childish, silly, out of touch with reality, you have no intelligent response to anything and frankly make so sense at all you only name call and taken as a whole I think you are filled with hate and anger, it certainly appears that way.

      • keith

        amen,BOOT THE COMMIES OUT!

    • ccg

      Adrianne you are so right.
Duh, what is the definition of “is”? and “I did not have sex with that woman!”

  • Cathy of NJ

Demand that those voting on our health care must use it for at least 10 years and let us know how it is working out! I for the life of me can’t understand why the legal citizens of this country let these beltway morons make mandate for us! Do as I say, not what I do!

Flip the House in 2010! They all have to go!

    • eyeswideopen

Cathy, I say put their insurance on hold untill we have a plan like theirs. Let them pay for premiums and out of pocket costs right now. If just one of their wife’s had a health issue now without insurance, they would be jumping up and down to get us fair, affordable insurance.

      • JeffH

I agree with you 100%, if it is good enough for the American Citizen, and I do mean citizens only, then why is it not good enough for our government officials. If they don’t accept it, in whole, then why should the American people accept it. The exact same coverage!

    • Cheryl

I couldn’t agree more. When you can vote on your own health insurance, pay raises and more you get the cream of the crop. As citizens of the United States just as we are they should have the same health insurance options as we do. Flip the house in 2010 and then hold them accountable!!

  • sonny

Speaking of the constitution Senator Robert Byrd a Democrat back in February sent a letter to President Obama saying the Czars are not constituional under Article II section 2. The President does not have the right to appoint public misnisters without the advise and consent of the Senate. Czar Feinberg has the power to say someones pay is excessive and to make companies cut that pay until the Czar is pleased. Senator Byrds letter critized President Obama of creating Czars to manage important areas of policy. Czars work directly for the President and are not accountable to Congress. They do not require a F.B.I. background check or Senate approval. They don’t have to answer a subponea from Congress for documents or testimony under excutive privlege. No one knows how much money they make exactly, approximately $172,000.00 and down. Obama has 28 Czars with more on the way. Thought you might find this interesting.

    • s c

Most of the time, I have no use for Byrd. In this case, he ‘gets it.’ He knows that comrade obama is consciously destroying our system of checks-and-balances. Byrd knows that comrde obama would prefer not to deal with the Senate, and get potential ‘czars’ properly CONFIRMED.
Byrd has been around for a long time. This could mean that most of comrade obama’s supporters will have to live for another 50 years or so before they ‘get it.’
Once again, we’re seing what ultralibs and their ilk really think of fair and legal and transparent and character. How much proof do people need before they see what’s going on and they have the guts to ADMIT that comrade obama is not fit to be in the white house?

      • JeffH

live by the sword and die by the sword.

        • eyeswideopen

Promoting more civil war or just violence this time?

          • JeffH

Only your TROLLING mind would read “civil war” and “violence” into my comment!

      • JeffH

Obama would have more czars except they keep getting exposed by FOX News. Tough to get all his commie buddies past Fox with the big 3, Limbaugh, Hannity and now the great Beck.

        • eyeswideopen

Jeff you try to blow things out of portion. It was one guy out of 36. Shall we talk about the convicted felons from the previous admin? The were on the staff, and in the cabinet. Some resigned to avoid problems, but some are still under investigation. See what happens when you go after Obama? Bush’s crimes are so many, it isn’t hard to find them and then you get mad. Oh, by the way, Obama is not perfect, and he has never claimed to be. Come on Jeff, keep working at finding something that has some substance.

          • ccg

Sorry Eyes, you are the one blowing things out of proportion.
Bush had a lot of Czars, but not all at one time. He may have had about ten or twelve at one time, but each year he appointed someone else to take the position that was vacated. Unlike the great O, who has the 46 or 47 Czars at one time. Never has a Pres. appointed so many Czars at one time.
The reason for speaking up now is we see the blatant dishonesty of the Czars. Even the Dems. are worried about the legality of the Czars.
If the envelope can be pushed, the great O will push it.

          • JeffH

As in the “TROLLS” remarks have no substance.

          • eyeswideopen

CCG, you are wrong. Too tired to even look up link to make you look silly.

          • eyeswideopen

CCG, I told April, how to get information on the CZARS. see info above.

    • eyeswideopen

Sonny, the first Czars were appointed during the Nixon admin, Ford had czars as did Regan, Bush and Clinton. Actually Pres. Bush had the most with a total of 46. So I take it that you don’t want this president to have the same ability as the previous ones to appoint czars? Did you speak up during the Bush admin? If not why now ?

    • Joe H.

      sonny,
According to the constitution, that paper this country was founded on, the president nor his cabinet doesn’t have the power to set maximum wages for civilian purposes! the only thing they can do is set minimum wage! That is according to the supremes!!!

  • sonny

I don’t care how liberal your are or how much you hated George W. Bush it dosen’t justify turning America into a socialist state. All politicians are liars, some more than others. Everytime Obama opens his mouth he lies or contradicts himself the same for the nut case Pelosi, Reid and others. Wake up America vote the socialist out of office in 2010 and 2012 while we still have an America left.

    • JeffH

      Amen brother.

    • eyeswideopen

Sonny, this country has had socialist programs since 1935. What new programs has he created? He is presently trying to reform one that the repubs created called Medicare Advantage, as there was no funding for it, and it cost 800 billion dollars. Was only supposed to cost 400 billion, but oops, GAO, revised cost in 2006 to be 1.2 trillion. You do remember that the Repubs had control of both houses of Congress in 2003 don’t you? So again I ask you, what socialist programs has he created? It is obvious that you hate him, just say that, don’t try to make up things like the repub Senators do, it just makes you look silly.

      • Joe H.

        Eyes,
Yeah and hes trying to pass one that costs 829 billion!!! It will actually cost more as the first four years are “start-up years” and aren’t even included on the budget!!!

      • ccg

Eeys, you proved the point exactly. Have those programs worked? NO.

        • eyeswideopen

CCG, so let’s cancel Medicare, refund the money to those paricipants and let them fend for themselves. The amount that they paid in ,will not cover their out-of- pocket, or premiums for very long. Premiums have gone up 138% over ten years, while salaries rose just 38%. Within 6-7 years estimated cost will be $25,000. per year. I say refund money and let everyone struggle. Why don’t any of you anti-socialists get a petition going to CANCEL MEDICARE? Walk the walk, or stop the talk!!

    • s c

Sonny, my comments aren’t aimed at you. The new prez is combining elements of fascism (blending government with corporations), socialism (big bro will take care of you) and communism (we will ‘perfect’ America and the world ANY WAY WE CAN DO IT!).
Comrade obama and his kind (harvard, georgetown, berkeley, etc.) have never been very good at using English (he thinks pc is a form of English), so once in a while you have to stop and re-think and translate mind-numbing pablum back into real English. And to think, all that money and time netted comrade obama a third-rate ‘education.’ They taught him nothing about economics or common sense.
Each method (fascism, socialism and communism) plays a role in a monumental power-grab. You might even call it an extension of the DNC’s ‘big tent’ theory, where all manner of sickness and perversion(s) are tolerated and encouraged.
A good example of a prime dumbing-down strategy is in Detroit’s current ‘come and get obama’s money.’ Who’s money? It’s his money only if he prints himself. Even a diehard democrat/ultralib/kook can’t get away with that crap, though they do try).

    • eyeswideopen

Sonny, we have been a socialist state for 74 years, just ask Jeff, he knows the history of his socialist run healthcare plan. Get real, you are too funny for words.

      • JeffH

        Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaa

  • ccg

Look Mr. eyesclosedtight Obama is trying to turn our whole country into a Socialist/communist Country. We are and have always been successful as a capitalist country. Obama does not like our country.
You are the one that makes things up, you are the one who looks silly. You act like you know so much, but in reality you are pathetic because you have no real facts. It appears that you are making things up as you go.
The way you talk you sound like you are an idiot who will say anything handy to win. Sorry pal, you lost. If people like you ever do win, we will lose our country, our way of life and our freedom.

    • JeffH

In one word “SOROS”, The Democratic Parties Czar, an avowed anti-American and the satanical leader of the Democrat Majority.

The Troll will respond in kind with “Adleson”, a wealhy casino jewish man that is not anti-American, but is anti-Palastinian, pro Israel and invests heavily into the GOP.

Here is a quote credited to Sheldon Adleson: Troops aren’t being thanked at all, they are forgotten, they are out of sight, out of mind.
      -Sheldon Adleson

      • eyeswideopen

Jeff, he is a dirty donor who tried to buy off a citizen running for office, trying to get them to change their party affilation. You think he is beyond reproach? Get your ethics checked. He then tried to sabatoge her and she ended up winning by 3%, but she won. Adelson, is trying to control Isreal’s politics and is using our Senators to put the heat on them. Jeff, it is so nice that you think a 26 billion dollar man doesn’t try to get his way. You are so naive it is rather cute.!!

        • JeffH

TROLL! Keep defending the anti-Americans, as you clearly are one yourself.

          • JeffH

Oh TROLL, where have I ever said Adleson is “beyond reproach”?
            Again, in one word, NEVER!

          • Get it right.

Jeff, no, you said Adelson is bad but not as bad as Soros. So it doesn’t matter if he is guilty, it is now the degree of guilt? It shows how you all justify corruption and blame the other party for the same infractions, because they are more guilty. lol

          • JeffH

Get it right: My point is that Soros is purly an avowed anti-American who makes no bones about wanting to destroy the very core of our freedoms, and America. He is a confessed socialist, hates America, and the devil himself, that has collected the soles of Obama and his ilk in the Democratic party. He is the leader of the pack!
There is a very defined differance my dear. If you can’t see that then you don’t have your eyeswideopen!

          • JeffH

Two newspapers conducted that poll last summer one reported 81% the other 82% in favor of their plan over ours. This story was widely reported in this country at that time and you apparently missed that. No I did not make them up, lies are not my style as is the case so much on this site, Graeme gets it too.

  • Rod

Tell Cantwell to take her “public Option” and put it where the sun
don’t shine! We are not buying it!!!!

    • eyeswideopen

You aren’t buying it, but the majority might and then your butt will be the one up for grabs…. can’t wait!!

      • JeffH

Not the majority of Americans, and not Congress! Should this issue be decide by a civilian, public vote or should we be force fed by this government. I see and hear the average citizen doesn’t like something they can’t read, isn’t accessable to view and won’t be if the Democratic socialists president has his way.

  • Rod

Cheryl, The Dems. are great for using every and any tactic to get what
they really want – - SOCIALISM! They lie, as Obama does everytime he comes on T.V. to try to sell his plan. I talk to more and more Dems.
who voted for this CREEP say they are sorry and won’t make that mistake again!

  • Rod

Good for you ccg, The problem with Obama and his MOB is: they are
hell bent for SOCIALISM and the American people arn’t buying it! They
will try ANYTHING to convince the American people they are doing it
for our protection. The problem for them is: We didn’t ride in on a head of cabbage! We don’t buy that junk they try to sell. Hitler failed trying to do it and Obama and his crowd will also fail!

  • Rod

ccg, eyeswideopen has a disease! every once in a while he has an
attack. It just comes over him. He can’t help it, poor thing!

  • DaveH

I’m listening to Glenn Beck about vaccination vs. non-vaccination.
One of the panel members said it is a moral issue (this guy is a doctor) because if we don’t receive the vaccination we are endangering our neighbor. How? If the neighbor gets the vaccine he will be safe, won’t he? Unless the vaccine doesn’t work. Then the neighbor would still be at risk even if you did take it. Unbelievable. We have to think for ourselves, because even the most well-intentioned people don’t necessarily give you all the facts.

    • April

I watched the same program. The other Dr on there Dr Holtorf, does not trust the vaccine. He said he will not be giving it to his family. But he might consider the nasal spray as it is safer. Like you I do not agree with Dr. Seigel’s point that we have a moral obligation b/c if you get sick from the swine flu shot and your neighbor is pregnant and opts not to get it, then doesn’t the neighbor still runs the possible risk of getting sick too? All we can do is get as informed as we possibly can and weigh all the pros and cons and go from there.

  • DaveH

This is great. From 48 years ago:

    • JeffH

DaveH, just listened to Ronnie and you talk about foresight. Rings so true.
Everyone should hear Reagan speak: From the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against Socialized Medicine as proposed by the Democrats, then a private citizen Ronald Reagan Speaks out against socialized medicine.

Click on the link above in DaveH comment!

      • eyeswideopen

This the same Regan who gave such a big tax break it almost bankrupt us and then he had to give the biggest increase in history the next year? Yep, that old movie star started the conservative party as we know it and look what we have now?? A bunch of cry babies who aren’t in power.

        • JeffH

Hey TROLL, quit whining! Baaaaa Baaaaa Baaaaa!

    • Smilee

This was before Medicare and 44 years of Medicare since have proven him wrong and while president he did nothing to try to change that, he knew it was good and he was wrong then and time will reveal his belief that government is the problem when in fact he and the conservatives were the problem and they almost destroyed the government at least made it dysfunctional and now after thirty years of their effect we need to change course to get things back on track and thus the reason for the present demise of the conservative movement. People are figuring it out and rejecting it and it is very clear you die hards and ditto heads are angry and frustrated with these changes and kidding yourselves that you can do much about it in the near term is apparent.

  • Michelle

Hey, you know what I heard on O’Reilly’s show tonight, it was pretty funny, he showed a clip of Pelosi and Reed talking about being against the war. Then good ‘ole Bill said something to the effect of, hey they can’t just say they are against it without saying what they are for.

He said this with a straight face.

    • Smilee

Why not conservatives have been doing that with health care reform all year

    • Get it right.

Michell, what are they for? Not being nasty, really would like to know what the repubs are for in the healthcare reform? I have a question that doesn’t fail me. Is it good for the citizens or is it good for the corporations? If corporations is the answer, I fight against it.

      • Get it right.

Michell, I am old and I don’t let the fluff get to me. I have become very basic in my “old age”. My grandchildren find petitions on the internet for me to sign, so I can continue to fight for my country. So the above question serves me well.

  • eyeswideopen

Git it RT, I like your proof is in the pudding question. You go girl!!

  • keith

i did’nt know trolls had skin, thought it was a slimey coating that protected them while they slithered through the offal under the bridge where they lie in wait for the chance to spread their mental lunacy to anyone passing by.they seem to gather in tight nit packs as they sit in the dark squatting in the muck of their own making while all talking about bush and chanting the magical name of their god and idol, oobbaammmaaa, ooobbaaammmaaa, over and over.one can usually tell them for what they are from their rantings which most often make no logical sense except to themselves.the only reason they exist as far as i can tell so far is annoy normal people.

  • Bruce

Agree with you! Jeff keep up the fight 2010 is coming then 2012

  • Robert

Rumor has it that Nacy Pelosi will introduce legislation that will impact the outcome of the 2010 elections. She plans to put forth a bill that states if a democratic looses their re-election bill then they would be left back and repeat their last term until they pass it with a majority vote in their favor. For republicans, too bad. Nancy’s answer to that is “The American voters have spoken and given us their mandate so tough”. That Nancy, she’s really on top of things and looking out for all our interests. By the way, how’s her hubby doing with that multi-million dollar taxpayer redevelopment deal. She could use the extra dough to help protect all those illegial aliens from us big, bad American meanies.
