Democrats Break Filibuster On Healthcare Reform

Democrats break filibuster on healthcare reform Early Monday morning, Senate Democrats voted 60-40 to end the debate on a package of healthcare reform revisions and advance the bill ahead of the final vote.

The vote has been touted as a show of unity and prompted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to declare that "today, the Senate took another historic step toward our goal of delivering access to quality, affordable health care to all Americans."

He added that the bill is "about people, it’s about life and death in America and human suffering. And given the chance to relieve this suffering, we must."

Meanwhile the GOP has criticized their opponents for passing the measure in the middle of the night and against the wishes of the majority of public opinion.

"Make no mistake: If the people who wrote this bill were proud of it, they wouldn’t be forcing this vote in the dead of night," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-Ky.), quoted by CNN.

Monday morning’s vote was the first of three this week, and the Senate is expected to conduct the final vote on the healthcare reform bill on Christmas Eve. The final passage of the measure will require only a simple majority vote.

      Now more people will die because of the lack of healthcare that they’ll receive. All of us will receive substandard medical care and we will have to wait in lines for healthcare similar to that of the DMV.

      Healthcare will be rationed out don’t you get it??????
      That means less people will receive the care that they need.
      Or are you so stupid that you really believe that the government is really going too take care of you? Or are you that much of a bum that you’re that desperate or just a plain vagrant?         So in summary…we’re losing our rights daily…our money is wortheless…our industrial base has been shipped overseas…and now the very power of life and death is being put into the hands of the same people who did the rest of it. Then we turn to the Pelosi accounts, 20 years paid, Obuma accounts, is where the first batch of funds should start, 30 years paid!!! WHAT? You said you wanted to HELP all Americans!     Yep! The Senators were able to get their demands met to get the healthcare in motion. Many Senators from various States were awarded $$$$ for Medicaid to get their approval. Talk about bribery! The whole system stinks. Billions of dollars were promised for these Senator’s States if they would agree with the Obama healthcare plan. This is NOT the Ameerican Way! Guess who pays for the “bribery?” You bet. The American Citizens. Now, do you think the Obama Heathcare plan is so wonderful? We have only heard from Obama about the positive issues in that plan. He doesn’t mention all the garbage that is attached.

Of course the leeches of society and those who give them the blood will cheer for their free health care while those who pay for it will be drained. They will pay taxes for 4 years before this even takes effect and then the total bill will come due.

    The question is when 2010 changes in the congress and senate take place, just how long will it take them to dismantle the damage done? What will be the cost?

    The next step is how long will it take the { NEW } Congress and Senate to present Mr. Obamer with his martching papers to his nice little jail cell, followed by his sweet little staff.

    Then how long will it be before the TREASON TRIALS begin for the congress and senate members that have voted on bills they fialed to read, or were bribed to vote on. This has all be filmed so there need be no costly trials, lets just get on with it.

    How long will it be before we have the Media arrested and shot for the Gorbels methods of TREASON they have been using? Keep in mind they are guilty and show it daily on film at 6 and 11.

    Then how long will it be before we have on the Telie the excutions of Mr. Obamer, his staff, then followed by the congress and senate members guilty of treason, lets just toss in a few Federal Judges too and the JD staff.

    Keep in mind the TREASON has been filmed and shown daily, so a trial would not be needed as the evdience of thier guilt is the size of the state of Texas.

    The problem, as I see it, is will the next Congress and Senate see this health care bill as the path to unlimited government? If so, they will keep it in place, no matter the drain on society. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

    As representatives of the people both Democrats and Republicans represent you as constituents. They are, by oath of office, to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

    This entire health care bill, no matter how much good or bad that is in it, is a violation of the representatives oath of office as well as being in direct violation of the reason for the existence of the Federal Government.

    The full extent for the existence of the Federal Government of the United States is the protection of the inalienable rights, freedoms and liberties of the people or citizenry.

    This Bill is in gross violation of those rights, freedoms, and liberties, thus, is at odds with the intents of the Constitution, and as such, has no foundation in the Constitution. This bill limits rather than protects those rights, freedoms and liberties.

    You do not read a bill only for what it says it will do, but for the evil that it can do. People press every limit in a bill. But this bill or any like it is in direct violation of the reason for the existence of the Federal Government of the United States.

    This REASON for the existence of our Federal Government is found in the Declaration of Independence, which says:

    WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness — That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

    That is the reason for government, and the Constitution is the principles or laws, by which, those unalienable rights are to be secured. Any law which takes away or limits those rights undermines the very reason for the existence of the Federal Government.

    Read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And for further reading study the writings of the Founding Fathers of our nation. This will let you know why our nation was founded and why our Federal Government has its existence.

    We need statemen, not politicians, in government. Term limits and a lifetime limit would go a long way toward that goal. These lifetime political jobs breeds the kind of crap we have now. Something like this would keep the grabbers of power to a minimum and would lead to those who wish to serve their state and nation rather than themselves.

      Liked your comment. I would also like to venture that the Congress and Sentate live in a bubble and it is about to burst. There is so much anger towards the people in D.C. that there is going to be some serious repurcussions. The people in the government seem to have forgotten who is in charge and who they serve. Any laws made have one thing in common, the people will have to comply. Any law is only as good as the people willing to abide by it. For instance, speed limits… some follow some do not, some, some of the time. California is going to legalize marijuana, just because of the fact the government can’t control the people who want to use and sell it. I for one am a citizen of one, but my way of thinking, is not. I would like to see what would happen if half of the country quit paying federal taxes, employers all over the country just said screw you, federal government. There is not enough man power of legislation power to enforce their bills and ammendmants. I for one, have quit buying anything made in China, quit AARP, quit watching liberal stations and reading news magazines, and no longer am hiring people for my small business. I will not but health insurance ever, I have a medical saving account, and I will never listen to democrats for the rest of my life. For the first time in my life, I hate everything Obama, and the liberals have done, and I refuse to abide by anything they endorse. I hate abortion, and homosexuality, and i despise the Hollywood sleeze and greed. Power to independence and freedom and CAPITALISM, and let CHRISTIANS crush muslims and all non believers.     A Different World

    Can anyone tell me what the hell has happened to America? Please, if you have anything other than the obvious to share, then please do so….
    Most of us know the song by Bucky Covington titled “A Different World”. Why is it that we all can relate to the lyrics of that song? Most of us can remember back when life was simpler and happier. There weren’t the laws and stipulations that there are today. Is it because people have become dependent on being told what to do? Is it because our laws have made it too easy to sue someone or something, instead of taking full responsibility for our actions?
    Either way you look at it. The American citizens have become too comfortable with being told what to do, or what they can or can’t do! I myself don’t like the direction that society has gone and where it’s headed. If the American people aren’t fully free, then no one else on earth will.
    Let’s start with freedom of speech. The average person will say that we still have that freedom. I believe that we don’t! If a person says the wrong word then they are labeled as a racist, bigot, or they are profiling or even worst a terrorist. We are told that certain words or phrases are “politically incorrect”. When did we become a politically driven anything? If there is be freedom of speech, then it has to be the full freedom of it. Capped or limited does not constitute anything as being free…
    How about seatbelt laws? Why is it that the only person fastened by a seatbelt on a school bus is the driver? The driver is an adult! Our children ride the same bus, but they are not fastened! This law is nothing more than a form of revenue for the State. Honestly, I don’t care about the bus driver! I care about the children that are riding that bus!
    I was a building contractor for many years, and you should see how many laws there are for safety… When did safeguarding something take the place of common sense? Reread the last sentence in the second paragraph. “That’s why”. People have found it easier (with the help of ambulance chasing Attorneys) to sue someone, than to use common sense.
    America was founded on the principles of Honesty, Dignity, Respect, Honor and Loyalty. What the hell has happened? Very few are honest anymore. Very few have dignity anymore. Respect, well, respect hasn’t shown its face in a couple of decades! Honor, most people don’t even know the meaning! And loyalty, well, loyalty is gone… Out of 300 Million American Citizens, I doubt 3% are truly loyal to the United States of America! We can’t trust the Government! We can’t even trust the local or State officials that we have elected…
    Our system is corrupt! Just as corrupt, as Mexico City… The White House is now handing money out like its candy on Halloween. From big bank and industrial bailouts, to so called stimulus checks. I stated on my website, and will again; I believe any person that stands in line waiting for a stimulus check is a disgrace to America! I also believe that any administration that hands out stimulus checks is too a disgrace to America!
    We need to stand tall as Americans… We need to vote more wisely… We need to run the corruption form “our elected offices”….
    “Shall freedom ring as the people swing the bell of liberty with the magnitude to deafen the corrupt and weak!!!”
    This is our Country! And we are taking it back!

      Honesty is a natural victim of Socialism. Lack of honesty was rampant in the USSR before the fall. It makes sense. The most dishonest kids I knew came from strict families. They had to lie to have any kind of freedom.
      I have also noticed the increasing amount of dishonesty in our society.

    So, it seems no Senator or Congressman will stand up to Obama. I am ashamed of them all.
    I think it is time for another revolution in America. Thomas Jefferson said this democracy will work until Congress figures out it can vote itself rich. Well, we are there. They vote to increase their pay, they receive their pay for life, even if they only serve one term, and they have their OWN insurance plan that you and I are not included in. Time for another TEA PARTY, this time we dunk the Congressmen in the Potomac. Either that, or a succession from the Union. Those seem to be our only options left. We have marched on Washington, we have met in every state to protest all of this mess Obama has brought in with him, we have called Congress, the President, we have written; all to no avail.
    It is time for a change, change people will believe in. Through the bums out, all of them!!!!

          What bipartianship? From the start, the Dems were counting on their majorities in both houses of Congress to get whatever they wanted without the Republican’s help, so they didn’t include the Republicans in any of the bill writing conferences, and they wouldn’t hear any of the amendments that the Republicans offered. It’s been “their way, or the highway” from the start. There’s been NO bipartianship attempted by the Dems whatsoever with this health care bill.

          There were only a couple of bills that were proposed by Bush during his administration that the Dems supported in large enough numbers to get passed, so there wasn’t much bipartianship then either. Once a few liberal/progressives tossed out the line that Bush got us in the war on a lie, and that started taking hold with their base, then there was no bipartianship afterwards, and we all really know that there was no lie to get us in the Iraq or Afganistan wars, but the truth doesn’t matter if a lie will do just as well……Right?

            The American government went a little too far in it’s interventionist policies on that one. We might have been justified after they invaded Kuwait, but we blew it that time…

            Michael, do you recall Saddam Hussein using chemical weapons to kill thousands of Kurds during Clinton’s administration? Those were weapons of mass destruction. It was universally thought at the time of our invasion that he was well on his way towards developing other kinds of WMDs as well. Every foreign service including our own CIA and the UN thought this was the case. It turned out, luckily, that this threat was overstated. At any rate, Saddam could have prevented the invasion if he had just complied with UN sanctions. Instead, he chose to defy them and threaten us and much of the rest of the world. After 9/11 we could not take a chance that he wouldn’t cooperate with Al-Qaeda to try to bring further destruction to the US. Both had already proven their ability and desire to do this. (As you may recall, he did try to assassinate George Bush Sr. when he was President.)

            JC – If we’d taken Iraq’s oil we could have paid for our war debt. Instead, we left it to them to try to get back on their feet. I’m sure the other reason we didn’t take it was because we didn’t want to be accused of going to war for oil….. At any rate, just getting their oil back on the market helped to keep a lid on crude oil prices. That helped us indirectly just like it helped everyone else.

          George I generally agree with your views. We may part company on this one though. Saddam was a nasty bastard and should have been taken out during Desert Storm. So why wasn’t he? I haven’t figured that one out yet but I gaurantee you it was political not moral reasons.
          And lets’ not forget the vested interests some very high up politicians have in the military industrial complex…they’re making millions (billions?) on the blood of young Americans. (I’m reminded of the senselessness of the Viet Nam war.)
          It’s merely another step in globalization and the bastards are using our young people to do it. It has to stop.

      Keep in mind, no DEMOCRAT Senator voted against this bill, but almost all of the REPUBLICAN Senators did. This is a major difference we shouldn’t forget when it comes time to vote for our representatives.

          I’m in agreement with you, except to the possible extent that if you’re leaning toward creating another 3rd party for conservatives to go to, I disagree with that notion. I’ve seen this tried in the past, with the only outcome being we elected more liberal/progressives to office, with more and more of these social programs being pushed at us. We spanked the Republicans in the last election, and I think we got their attention. However, even then all we got for the effort was the present health care reform bill and a cap-and-tax carbon abatement (job & economy killing) bill right behind it, and other such nonsense. Do you think for a minute the Republicans would have pushed these on us like this? I can’t imagine it. We do need to get control of our government. The question is how best to do it. To that end, I still think the shortest path to success is through the Republican Party, as disgusting as this may seem to some. Obviously, the Democrats will not respond to you, and 3rd parties don’t have as prayer when it gets down to the actual vote. Think about it.

            If you had a choice to pal around with one of 3 people, one a known thief, one a known murderer, and one honest man with stated principles that you know little else about, which one would you choose?
            I would rather cast my vote for a Party with principles that may not be able to win, than to throw away my vote on a Party with known problems. We have two major parties. One that wants to help themselves to the money of others, and another that wants to dictate our personal choices (for our own good, right). For those of us that want the freedom that made this country great there is only one party – The Libertarian Party.

            I understand your point, and I’m in total sympathy with it. However, the way I see it is we’ve got to win a majority again if we want to change what’s going on in Washington. That probably means compromising a little on our principles. Even Ron Paul understands that since he’s thrown in with the Republican Party. He knows that’s the only way he will be heard. Do you think he would have gotten on stage with the other Presidential candidates to debate the issues last year if he’d ran as a Libertarian? Of course not. We’ve got to be practical and keep our eye on the largest goal. Once we destroy the progressives so that they no longer pose a threat to this country, then we can choose up sides as this conservative or that conservative or that libertarian and go at it over our differences. But, right now we’ve got to band together and defeat these awful progressives or they’re going to totally distroy this country. Like General Patton said when he was asked if he’d be willing to die for this country, he said something like “I don’t want to die for my country. I want the other dumb SOB to die for his country.” Principle is one thing, but dying for principle is another. I choose to live so we can fight another day…….

    “Just trust us” they say, but they exclude themselves and their families from this bill, we haven’t read the bill yet, and we have to rush the bill through in the dead of night with a bare majority of votes from only one party in support with little transparency or bipartisan debate on amendments. “It’ll be free” they say, but we’ll have to raise your taxes to pay for it. “It’ll reduce the federal deficit” they say, but they plan to tax us for the next 10 years, but only give us 6 years of health care service. What will it cost the next 10 years when there’ll be 10 years of service provided? “You’re a heartless person who doesn’t care about the needy in this country if you don’t support this bill” they say, but the Republicans agreed early on to find a way of covering those needy who temporarily fall on hard times, but NO the Democrats want to overhaul the entire health care system instead of helping just the few who need help. So, why would a sane and informed person want this? Let me think……. Maybe they’ll want to sell us some fine beach front property in Arizona next…….. With this group, nothing would surprise me. Maybe they’ll tack on building an ocean as well, at our expense, of course.

    Keep in mind folks, at least those of you who still think you can elect conservative Democrats to office, not one Democrat Senator voted against the bill in the Senate. Harry Reid did have to bribe several of them with millions of our tax dollars to get their votes, but not one voted against this bill even though the majority of their constituents don’t want it. Wasn’t this a demonstration of statesmanship of the highest order? Wouldn’t our founding fathers be proud? I can’t imagine them thinking this is acceptable and in accord with their concepts for our nation. Oh, that doesn’t matter.     If you think socialized health care is wonderful, look at New Mexico. Albuquerque has one public hospital, University of New Mexico Hospital, and one privately owned hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, serving a city of about 500,000 people. Most US cities that I’ve seen have many more hospitals than that. The reason, I think, that they have so few hospitals is that so many people in New Mexico are provided with “free” health care. The ER wait is about 12 hours in NMU Hospital, with streams of illegals coming up from Mexico and New Mexicans who either can’t afford health care or chose not to pay for it. Many who can pay for it don’t because they can get it for “free.” This is my image of “free” public health care. Between the government refusing to pay for your health care requests and the fact that there will be fewer health care providers, you won’t get it like you do today.

    LET’S VOTE OUT EVERY LAWMAKER THAT VOTED FOR THIS HEALTH CARE REFORM. We’ve got to start reforming this reform as soon as possible. Otherwise it will bankrupt this country.

Sending emails don’t help either-they just delete them and pretend we are not upset about their decisions. They all lie to us and to each other pretending that people really want this garbage. Why can’t the American People sue the government for fraud, theft, lying and failing to do their jobs to uphold and protect the Constitution. I know there has been some very underhanded and dare I say, illegal voting done in past elections (ACORN comes to mind), and this is something too that must be dealt with, but it still holds true that if enough of us (read ALL) get out and vote instead of saying that my vote won’t count like so many do, we can start the wheel of REAL CHANGE turning.

And, may I add 1) vote as a block instead of splintering our vote among several conservative & libertarian parties and candidates, and 2) don’t expect perfection in a candidate. Vote for the one that will most likely help us move our agenda forward. In the end, we’re not voting for a king/queen (life appointment) or TV celebrity. We need people who share our values and have the drive and power behind them to get those values instituted in our culture. Candidates, politicians, and political parties change, but our values shouldn’t. We’ve been losing that battle over the past few decades, and that’s got to change….

      I agree that Washington is corrupt and we can’t trust our representatives to act in our best interests. However, we can observe how they act and vote while in officie, and vote out the ones that don’t act in our interests. If you recall, none of the Democrat Senators voted against this bill, but almost all of the Republican Senators did vote against it. Keep this in mind as you’re doing “house cleaning” in the coming elections.

      The only peaceful way to react is for every concerned citizen to devote a small amount of their time to direct response at every level.
      1.) At the voting booth.
      2.) At the local school board and community meetings. (What if half of the tax-paying residents of a district showed up at a board meeting EVERY time there was a curriculum decision or budget vote? What if those same people called board memebrs at home, or politely confronted them at church, or the mall?)
      3.) With direct response to your local media–starting with visiting the newsrooms and asking reporters, face to face, about issues that concern you.

      Letters and emails are essential but they are not enough. You have to have a presence. If every concerned American made this public discourse a part of their life, say…an hour per week, the efforts could be divided up among us.
      I have a good friend who writes polite letters to military officers at our local bases about not acting on illegal orders to suppress Americans on our soil. He addresses other related issues as well. (Imagine if your local base commander received several thousands of these a month…) He has also requested meetings with officers on several occasions, where he briefly and politely outlined his concerns and asked for assurances–as a citizen.
      These are the peaceful efforts needed to effect meaningful change and without them, I fear we are headed for an eventual un-civil citizen response.

      I think Obama may be unwittingly our greatest ally in the effort to wake Americans up to the danger of Big Government. Now that people are awakening, we need to work on dispeling that myth that we can’t have a 3rd Party. Why not? I think there are many Democrats that don’t want to be thieves, but don’t like the Republicans dictating to them what they can do with their own bodies. And I think there are many Republicans that want to have a moral society, yet don’t think the Government should be in the business of protecting people from themselves and don’t think the US should be the world’s policemen. Both of these groups could find shelter in the principles of the Libertarian Party.
      We prize Individual Liberty, Individual Responsibility, and Limited Government.

The end result I predict will be to hand the progressives more and more victories and continued control of our government. This will lead to failure.             For now, I think the Tea Party makes a good forum for speaking out on the issues because it’s a political movement, not a political party. We can all band together under that banner.     All I can say is that as far as I know no one is ever turned away from hospital’s ER’s. I have voted for people of both parties in the past but next time anyone who is up for re-election will not get my vote no matter which party they are.

The power of the people and the States are being transferred to the Fed. This is a push, ultimately to the New World Order.             I like Sarah a lot as well, but I’m not inclined right now to say that she can effectively challenge Obama in 2012. As you say, the Dems fear her a lot so they and their big money allies are trying as hard as they can to tarnish her image with the American people…..just like they did to Newt. As a result, I believe she’ll make a very good decoy on which the Dems can expend a lot of their “bullets.” However, I believe we need someone else (a relative unknown)to rise up just before the election for us to rally behind. Sarah can be a great spokesperson and advocate, maybe even a VP candidate, but probably not the Presidential candidate if we want to be successful in 2012……..I think.

        As you probably know, the Congress approved both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Bush did not get us into them by himself. There were no lies, as you know, to get us into those wars, and they were initially supported by a majority of Democrats in both houses of Congress. The Dems only started backing out their support when they saw that it was going to be a good political move to do so. The George Soros, Michael Moore, Barak Obama far-left faction of the party spent millions of dollars making the false case that the war was a lie. This message caught on with the far-left kooks early on, but took some of the more moderate folks a little longer to join in that lie. I’m no fan of Hillary Clinton, but she was one of the last to abandon her support of the Iraq war.

        Who is the fear monger? The Dems /liberals/ progressives/ socialist/ fascists are all pushing us real hard to support global climate change legislation because they want us to believe the polar ice caps are going to melt and drown us all in a sea of rising water in a couple of years…..Really? Get real. And, don’t forget if we don’t pass this health care bill right away, millions of Americans are going to die for lack of care, even though it will not kick in for 4 years and no one is turned away at the emergency room right now for lack of ability to pay when they are sick.           I don’t want to see us send troops to foreign soil to fight when it’s unnecessary. In this case, I think our leaders did think it was appropriate, and I believe our military agrees. I’m sympathetic with that call based on everything I know about the subject. Regardless, I am proud that we stayed long enough to see it through. The danger to our troops in Iraq has diminished substantially over the past 1.5 years. I think we’ve won that war. Afghanistan is another question, and if it weren’t for the fact that I’m afraid that the terrorist could gain control of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons if we left now that I’m inclined to say we need to stay until we gain control over this situation as well.

My guess is that they really enjoy all the US money and don’t want the game to end.

Unfortunately, at the time we went in everyone thought the situation was different, and once committed it would have been a big mess to just pull out. But, I acknowledge it’s been a big drain on our treasury and was very divisive among our people. Neither of which are good things, but sometimes you just have to settle for the least bad thing and move on. I think that’s what we did. Strategically in the long run, I’m hoping a democratic Iraq will be a thorn in the side of Iran and other autocracies in the Middle East and save lives fighting other unnecessary wars over there. Maybe something good will come out of all this…..

            Regarding Pakistan, I believe there’s a lot of truth in what you’re saying. Again, so far all I see are bad and worse options for us. Maybe things will start to clear up soon. In the meantime, I think we need to stay the course….

            Regarding Pakistan, I believe there’s a lot of truth in what you’re saying. Again, so far all I see are bad and worse options for us. Maybe things will start to clear up soon. In the meantime, I think we need to stay the course….

    I agree Newt Gingrich is probably one of the most intelligent politicaians we have, and his views seem to have been consistently sound.
    However, he is a member of the CFR and that gives me cause for concern.
    To quote mmn nra ‘this is about the complete transformation of our government system’ and this push to a New World Order is being “masterminded’ by the CFR! And yes mmn nra, as long as the Feds have us fighting each other, they are safe to sell us out at their will.
    Once again folks, the Trilateral Commission/CFR/Bilderberg Group/Federal Reserve etc. control the government….THEY ARE THE GOVERNMENT! It is reasonable to surmise that not all 4000 or so CFR members of the “outer circle” are fully aware of the BIG picture and it’s possible Newt could be one them, but I have my doubts about that because he appears to be too well informed not to know. On the other hand the TRILATERAL COMMISSION is closer to the “inner circle” and has fewer members (several hundred) and they call the shots.
    mmn nra is right on target, it has nothing at all to do with healthcare…it is about taking control of American citizens and complete elimination of our Constitution. Bush, Obama, Clinton, Tony Blair…(you name them) are all pre-selected puppets. Whether Republican or Democrat, it is irrelevant, they are on the same page because they both receive their directives from the same source! And if ANYONE really wants to know what life will be like under a Socialist System, read any well documented book on the GULAG system of the (then) USSR. The ‘Holocaust’ almost pales compared to the number of souls that perished in the GULAG labor camps.
    We can hope that God will help us, but meanwhile we need to help ourselves by helping one another combat this insidious evil.

    Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the king of earmarks, is an idiot. He elected to go the “smear, lie, and stonewall” route and he failed. When your in the MINORITY, you don’t have the luxury of foot dragging. If he, and the Republicans, would have acted responsibly they could have helped craft a good bill that would actually save people money and improve healthcare. People like Lieberman, Nelson, and Baucaus would not have had the power they had if it wasn’t for the adulescent behavior of the Republican senators.
    Now they are crying, ranting, praying, and suing. Mitch barely got elected in the last go round. Maybe in 2012 he and buddies will get the deep six.

      If you objectively look at the facts I think you’ll see that the Republicans were shut-out of this process by the Democrats from the start. So, unless the Republicans just agreed to everything the Dems wrote in these bills, they were not being bipartisan according to your crowd. Give me a break. You can say all you want about the Republicans, but they did at least represent the majority of the American people on this issue, so you might as well say the American people were whining by not accepting this pile of crap from the Dems.

      This whole process is a terrible example of how a minority can steal a country through the democratic process. This is one of the weaknesses of democracy. Keep thinking that this bunch of socialist will win majorities in future elections, because they won’t even with the help of the major media. We will take back our country once again!

      If your snide comment about earmarks suggests you are against them, then there is one point you and I agree. However, I suspect you’re really throwing another insult at Mitch, by saying he’s hypocritical about spending. To that point, I may be in agreement with you, and if that’s the case, he’ll pay a price for that by his constituents. (If you notice, conservatives generally hold their representatives to a higher standard than liberals hold theirs.) Few of our representatives have been good stewards of our money, partly because we don’t have enough controls on spending, and this availability of money has corrupted Washington and just about bankrupted our government. We’ve got to find a way of shutting down the free flow of money in Washington. So, given the choice between one party that spends like drunken sailors and one that spends like an irresponsible child, I’ll take the child for now. In any case, we’ve got to clean up this crap. And, HIGHER TAXES ARE NOT THE SOLUTION TO BALANCING THE BUDGET!

    Probably a fair enough observation. But I ask that you take a look at the big picture since, say 1900. That would do for a start anyway.
    It no longer matters which camp you vote for. They’re both dragging us towards Socialist slavery. Both camps are bought and paid for by the owners of The Fed. The whole left / right thing is just a dog and pony show by now. Vote Red or Vote Blue…in the end the joke is on you. Norm we need to clean house altogether.

    Questions for anyone….I have encountered several deletions to (invited) comments on various issues. One example is HUMAN EVENTS. My comments pertaining to several separate articles were posted and mysteriously disappeared shortly thereafter. My enquiries to CustomerService@HumanEventsOnline.com have either not been acknowledged or other variations of delivery failure. Deletions have also occurred with BAY NEWS 9 and THE ST. PETERSBURG TIMES. The comments, as with PERSONAL LIBERTY DIGEST, usually remain posted for a specific time period and then removed to allow for new comments. However, my comments were removed almost immediately while others, posted within the same time period remained. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Can anyone shed any light on this?
    Although I am still somewhat of a novice with computers, is there perhaps something I am missing? Could this justify my suspicions about e-mail monitoring?
    Yes JC, it seems we are still squabbling over partisan trivia differences. What more is it going to take, or, how LOUD and CLEAR do we need to be for people to understand that both parties are controlled by the same BEAST? Whether it is the BEAST with 7 heads in scripture (for Bible scholars) or the mythical multi-headed hydra, take your choice, it is a BEAST, and it has been identified today in the flesh for all (who have eyes) to see.

      I don’t know exactly what the “beast” is, but I do know what feeds it….our MONEY. If we shut off the money supply, the beast will die or at least get under control. Therefore, I say “focus on the money, not any particular person or group.” No matter who is in power, they will be corrupted by the money if we continue to let them spend it without any real oversight and control…..

    how many parties have shown up this year?? i agree on the principals of goooh but the name sounds like a joke to me. a lot of democrats know their party is sliding down the slippery slope of marxism and in their hearts don’t want this to happen so they start coming up with all these different parties to counteract the politicians they vote into office. we have the tea party dems and repubs joined together for one reason to get our country back. join them they are proposing what you have written about and the only way we can beat washington is to band under one banner. i am not an official member other than attending a couple of meetings and i hope they generate into a large party with good leadership. if they end up under ron paul or other controversial figure they will lose, if they choose sarah palin they will win!

    Chuck b, I was one of those ignorant voters. Ignorant as in uninformed. Ignorant because I believed what was being fed to us by the media. Ignorant because I had not taken an interest in political affairs. Ignorant because persuasive political rhetoric impressed me. Ignorance is basically lack of knowledge, not using that knowledge wisely would be considered just plain stupid. So yes, in that context
    ‘ignorant would be applicable.
    We can’t blame the people Chuck, they are, for the most part, sincere, good hearted folks. They are simply not aware because they are not meant to be aware. The evil (BEAST) is not in our citizens, it is in the government, specifically those who control our
    government. In other words the BEAST ‘manifests’ itself through the
    evil that these men perpetrate. Revelation (Last book of the New Testament) refers to this BEAST from a scriptual perspective. G.Edward Griffin refers to it as the CREATURE in his book ‘THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND”

    If you research those books along with “The Battle for the Mind” by Tim LaHaye (dated but applicable), you will be, by then, in a much better position to identify the BEAST.

    And yes Gaye, the Constitution Party is certainly worth looking into. I have yet to find the time to research them more thoroughly.

      My thought is that the beast may change from time to time, but what feeds it won’t. That’s why I think we need to focus on limiting the amount of money Washington has to spend. People will always find ways to game the system to get to the money as long as there’s lots of it there.

      I don’t really care what banner we go under so long as we don’t get splintered, and don’t dilute ourselves that politicians running as independents or Libertarians or Constitutionalist or Tea Partiers or other will be any better than Republicans and Democrats if we allow them access to lots of money will little or no controls over it. People are just people and will be corrupted if we allow them access to the money. So, SHUT DOWN THE MONEY!

    Yes, shut down the money…easier said than done. Ron Paul (Campaign for Liberty) wants to ‘Audit the Fed’ as a precursor to abolishing the Fed…..then, we can shut down the money. But,as long as Washington have control of the money flow, then they will maintain control over the people. When they succeed in gaining control of our health needs (through this farce called ‘Healthcare’) they will control our lives. And when they gain control of our health and finaces, they will have achieved their goal, which is COMPLETE control of the people. This, in essence, is Socialsm, just another word for Tyranny or Dictatorship. This evil entity seeks to bring the masses of people under subjugation and abject misery. If we allow this to happen, we will, again, be repeating history…pull up GULAG on the internet to get some idea of what life will be like under Socialism.

          if you are asking me what do we do, i really don’t have a concrete answer. it appears the liberals have enough brainwashed people in the country to do just about anything they want. its my hope that people joining the tea party assemblies will gather enough party strength to make a difference at the voting polls, the problem is they seem to all want to go a different direction, their coming up with all kinds of political parties and that isn’t going to work. we need a strong leader and i am hoping sarah palin could fill that bill. i’m not one that in the past would want a woman leading the party but, she seems like a very strong person and can hold her own with any of the liberals. i wouldn’t mind if they gathered under the republican party if they got rid of the moderate and liberal repubs. either way we need new people and ones not trying to fill their pockets. we need to re-organize and draw up new term limits for the legislators, remove the political fiefdom’s in washington in other words re-organize the government under the constitution.

    We’re on the same page. Here’s another fly in the oinment. There is a controversy about the voting machines, specifically the DIEBOLD models. Apparently they still have several security problems whereby the voting count can be altered in various ways. For example, it is possible that they can be hacked into by expert ‘hackers’and are easily accessed by anyone who knows how to open the side panel to change the memory chip or install a virus. Extensive research tests were also conducted in University Labs to pinpoint these flaws. This issue will need to be addressed and rectified, otherwise the entire voting process is deprived of practical significance, and many of these machines are still in use in all but two States.

      Excellent point Chuck B, I think this is an area that is critical if we are to maintain viable elections, not that the last one totally was! We must have representatives from both sides at the election counting, and possibly many more doing eligability verificaton. I never did trust electronic voting.
