CVS Demonstrates Your Future Under Obamacare

CVS Demonstrates Your Future Under Obamacare

The consequences of the big lie that is Obamacare and the U.S. deathcare system continue to come to light. From layoffs to hour reductions to business closures to companies being dragged into court over abortion and contraceptive coverage to doctor shortages to rising deathcare costs, Obamacare is a building disaster of rising premiums, doctor shortages and rationing death panels. Now, legal drug pusher CVS Caremark pharmacy is telling its employees they must report specific personal health information or pay an extra $600 per year for their health insurance coverage.

Among the measures employees are required to report are their weight, body fat, cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Employees must also be tobacco-free or enroll in an addiction program.

“These changes aren’t just about costs, they’re about us, each of us taking personal accountability for our own health,” said Lisa Bissacia, CVS senior vice president and chief human resources officer, in a recorded video released by the company.

The irony that a company that peddles to an unsuspecting public pharmaceuticals with a list of side effects as long as your arm and responsible for millions of adverse reaction events and 106,000 deaths annually would actually be concerned about their employees’ health is no doubt lost on Bissacia. On top of that, such a policy is an egregious violation of the employees’ rights.

Employment lawyer Richard Schramm told KPIX 5 News: “(CVS Executives) better get some pretty good legal counsel and decide whether your policy is really legal, because the policy as announced is not legal.”

Schramm told KPIX 5 the company is trying to tell employees what they can and can’t do on their off time.

“If we granted that right to employers, employers could tell employees who to date, who to see, what kinds of foods to eat, what to drink, all kinds of behavior off site could be controlled. And that’s absolutely not the law in California,” he said. Nor anywhere else, except maybe Florida.

“The approach they’re taking is based on the assumption that somehow these people need a whip, they need to be penalized in order to make themselves healthy,” Patient Privacy Rights founder Deborah Peel, M.D., told ABC News.

For the company’s many low-wage in-store employees, it’s essentially blackmail. There’s no way they can absorb an additional $50 per month increase in premiums, so they’ll have to comply.

And what will CVS do with the information? Not to worry; CVS won’t have access to the personal information. It will be given to WebMD.

And therein lies another rub. WebMD is a major propaganda arm of Big Pharma, and Big Pharma and the health insurance cartel wrote the Obamacare law. Drug criminal Eli Lilly was an original investor of WebMD. Eli Lilly has repeatedly been cited, fined and successfully sued for illegal and deceptive marketing, covering up the harmful effects of its drugs and buying the influence of doctors and regulatory agencies (as have all the major drug manufacturers).

WebMD uses subliminal sales tactics to peddle drugs, including harmful psychotropics, according to research by

Lilly is not the only pharma company receiving unmarked product placement on WebMD.

Last summer, a video featured a woman patient confessing she was fearful of life while a voice over said she needed treatment for “general anxiety disorder” and the camera showed bottles of Forest Pharmaceuticals’ antidepressant Lexapro moving down the manufacturer’s assembly line. Get it? No disclaimer on the video or “sponsored content” appeared.

Another unsponsored WebMD video last summer urged people on antidepressants to remain on their therapy “despite side effects” and a third suggested women concerned about cancer, heart attack and stroke risks of postmenopausal hormone therapy should continue their treatment at lowered doses. Hang in there, valued customers.

Also on WebMD is a “depression test.” The test is rigged and the questions framed to elicit “yes” answers to all the questions. But even after answering “no” to all the questions, you are told, “You may be at risk for major depression.” So everyone taking the test is depressed, according to test sponsor Eli Lilly.

As Joseph Mercola, M.D., writes on his site, WebMD and its subsidiaries claim to be independent, but how independent and objective can a company be with its health recommendations when one of its major investors is a drug company?

For example, (WebMD subsidiary) has the following statement at the bottom of every web page:

“ provides free, accurate and independent advice on more than 24,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines & natural products.”

And yet is owned by WebMD, which has close ties to Big Pharma, and recommends drugs for their advertisers and pharmaceutical partners…

Also counted among its financial backers are producers of harmful processed foods — the type that contain artificial “fruits” that can be, according to the Food and Drug Administration, peddled as fruits. Curiously, or maybe not, there is no mention of natural alternatives and supplements. So much for preaching a healthy lifestyle.

WebMD also has a partnership with the FDA, the first-ever public-private partnership for the agency. Why? To be the agency’s major propaganda arm. WebMD and its subsidiaries are four of the top 10 most-visited health information sites on the Internet.

WebMD’s own announcement stated:

The partnership will enhance the FDA’s ability to get crucial information to the American public, FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach, MD, said in a news conference.

… “WebMD has been a leader with regard to innovation in the use of the web as a form of communication and service to the public,” von Eschenbach said. “What we will do by virtue of this partnership … is to really be able to present online … content material we at FDA feel is extremely important for consumers to be aware of as they are making critically important decisions for themselves and for their families about their health and the products that they use to ensure their health.”

Of course, the FDA is co-opted and owned by Big Pharma and regularly provides cover for the pharmaceutical companies to peddle drugs with harmful side effects — sometimes for a period of years — until the lawsuits mount to such an extent that the agency is forced to require them be pulled from the market. The drug manufacturers then pay a big fine and/or settlement and move on to the next case, raking in billions of dollars in the meantime on drugs that treat symptoms and create more diseases in a never-ending cycle.

Now, back to WebMD and how it might use the information obtained on CVS’s 161,500 employees.

According to WebMD’s privacy policy, it won’t share any of the information it has on you, with the following exceptions:

  • To comply with legal requirements, such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena, or court order;
  • To our vendors and suppliers in the course of their provision of products or services to WebMD;
  • In the event of a corporate change in control resulting from, for example, a merger, a sale of assets, or bankruptcy; or
  • In special cases, such as in response to a physical threat to you or others.

So CVS employees can expect their personal information to be shared far and wide. There can be no expectation of privacy and the data can be used by anyone — government included.

With government running healthcare, expect programs like this to expand and the information to be used to force behavior modifications for everyone forced to buy into Obamacare.

But look on the bright side. Nanny Mayor Michael Bloomberg could head the new Federal Agency of Behavior Modification. Telling people how to live their lives seems right up his alley. He’ll be available come November.

Interesting article, based upon a flase premise that these moves are forced by Obamacare. Thee oves and demands on employees, the so-called ‘forced to close” because of Obamacare etc etc, are used as an attack on Obamacare…when it has nothing to do with Obamacare. The article also fails to point out that many of the parts of Obamacare that Eli Lilly and WebMD are involved in…are those parts insisted upon by the GOP for their votes and support of final passage.

Those finer points of reality will be lost on the extremists..who care nothing about facts as long as they have another reason to exercise the TP/American Taliban trilogy of anger, fear, and ignorance. This is the disservice … not giving the facts on both sides, and laying the true issues out for opinion given the reality.

The flaw in Obamacare, the flaw which will sooner or later be addressed if health care is to be available to the American Nation without regard to income or social class…is a minimum Public Health option. Not universal care covering eery aspect of health, but a minimum coverage, the basics, which society maintains should be available to all. Any above that level can and will be covered by insurance riders or out of pocket cash payments.

When that is realized, when America sees the benefits of Obamacare as it is now flawed, and realizes that leaving companies free to abuse the system as they are is not a good thing…the flaws built in at the insistence of the GOP providing protection to Big Pharma will be overridden.

    • http://liberty massmilitia

government should stay out of my fu]cking personel life healthcare included, Obama is a scumbag, dictator wanna be, peice of manure. He should be impeached, he is a domestic enemy of the United Socialist States of Amerika. He is solely responsible for the dealths in Bengazi and then lies to cover it up

      • Flashy

Now there’s an intelligent piece of work. Covered all three parts of the TP/American taliban trilogy ! Anger, fear, and ignorance.

How is what CVS mandating to its employees part of Obamacare? Go ahead, knock yourself out trying to spin that one.

      • Daveh234

massmilitia is a little delusional…I use the term “little” loosely. Don’t want to upset his applecart too much

      • Charlie

True points,,,but,,,ignore Flashy dimwit below ,,,but,,,IF? you can? comply………………

    • Steph

O’butt brain care is only geared towards the couch potatoes who don’t want to work and feel that the government owes them a living. Of course the actual working class that is trying to get ahead is being penalized by this so called health care. More taxes and more taxes and even more taxes many of them hidden unless you look close. One of the real sneaky ones is a tax to companies of $65 per employee to fund this fiasco called obamacare, regardless whether the employee has health insurance or not. Where is this $65 dollars coming from? Well in one company they have reduced their contribution to the employees health care by $65 to cover this so the working employees are getting screwed to pay the cost for a bunch of useless scum who want free health care. It is getting to the point it is not worth working anymore.

Collapse in 5-7 years at this rate is a 100% assurity. I think it is time to close shop liquidate assets and get the f out now before the government takes everything.

      • Karolyn

Don’t lump the truly needy and especially their children in with lowlifes. It’s not the kids’ fault. Take a look at Appalalchia, for one, where people still live without indoor plumbing. (And the coal companies are leveling their mountains!)

      • Capitalist at Birth

Karolyn, Have you ever been to West Virginia? I have visited the state many times, and never saw leveled mountains or the abject poverty of which you speak. I have visited the backwoods of West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama. Yes some people have living standards lower than mine, but most have running water and septic systems. Some have porta poties. and outhouses. So what?

      • Chester

Capitalist at Birth, it is EASY not to see things you don’t want to see, especially if you go out of your way NOT to see them. You were NOT in the deepwoods parts of West Virginia, or even Virginia, or you could have found the extreme poverty levels Karolyn speaks of, AND the flattened mountains and filled in valleys the coal companies DO leave behind. Even where I live it isn’t that hard to find places with outdoor toilets and hauled drinking water. Not as easy as it once was, but not hard even now.

      • Karolyn

Yes, CAB, I;ve been to W. Virginia. More importantly, I have a good friend who was born and raised there. I also contribute to the Christian Appalachian Project, which operates in Kentucky, bringing hope to those who have nothing but rotted floors, no electric, no sanitation, no windows, etc. As far as the destroyed mountaintops, google it to see just what Big Coal is doing (with the backing of people like you!). You can also find where people are fighting to save their mountains. Yeah, the coal companies will plant trees, but the landscape will never be the same. I’m sure you wouldn’t like it in your backyard. I’m also sure you wouldn’t like the Keystone Pipeline in your backyqard either but don’t mind it for others.

      • Karolyn

CAB – Here’s a good documentary on the mountaintop removal.

    • Don 2

Obamcare is so wonderful that 4 in 10 doctors say that their take-home pay has decreased because of it, and 6 in 10 doctors now say that they will leave the profession in the next 1 – 3 years, also because of Obamacare.

Obamacare forced down our throats, reportedly to insure 10 million uninsured. The CBO now predicting 30 million will be uninsured in 10 years.

Add somewhere between 11 and 20 million illegal aliens to the system, and half of the doctors now refusing to accept medicare patients because it doesn’t cover their overhead. Good luck finding a doctor, or even getting a diagnosis within 6 months.

      • Thomas

What’s coming next is the Obamacare 2.0 upgrade, requiring all health care professionals, especially docs and nursing staff, to (a) require they take all patients in private practice, regardless of ability to pay, and (b) get “official permission” from the Federal government to retire or otherwise leave the profession – docs won’t be ALLOWED to quit.

I just can’t tell anymore when I’m being sarcastic. If anyone had explained to me 30 years ago, what today’s world would look like, I would have either (a) snorted in incredulous disbelief, or (b) started planning an exit strategy far sooner.

      • Flashy

“Obamcare is so wonderful that 4 in 10 doctors say that their take-home pay has decreased because of it, and 6 in 10 doctors now say that they will leave the profession in the next 1 – 3 years, also because of Obamacare.”

Don…in what part of the profession are these “doctors”? Since Obamacare does not dictate pricing, why is it that these drs are blaming Obamacare? Is the reason for thier decline in income the result of past abuses in billing?

Facts Don…facts. Not a massive generalization without supporting your allegations.

Are you saying that a Dr. should be guaranteed to make gadzillions and not face competition ? Face it..without the huge payments from insurance companies, Drs. wouldn’t be making those huge incomes…they’d be earning what the marketplace provides.

And i absolutely love the claim 6 in 10 are leaving the profession. Really? Wanna bet on that? Just what profession will they go into that gives them the incomes they have, and what they have experience in? Truck driver? mechanic? manager of a sales division? Taxi driver? Stock broker on commission? Please do tell…

        Liberalism is a disease.

      • Don 2

I can either believe your can of liberal spin, or I can believe what Dr. Ben Carlson, the famed Baltimore neurosurgeon and director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, who addressed the National Prayer Breakfast, just stated on FOX News within the last 20 minutes.

Guess who I am going with?

      • Capitalist at Birth

Flashy, Typically ignorant response. Yes, Medicaid and Medicare determine what the physician will receive in compensation for each particular service, and it will add the burden of record keeping at each facility. My primary care D.O. has told me that their record keeping costs were going to be so great that they were forced to join a Hospital Group to help defray the costs associated with the ACA. (Obomacare) Why would he lie to me? Additionally, 10 Doctors in our immediate area (15 mile radius) quit seeing medicaid patients, who now have to travel a minimum of 25 miles to receive care. If you were half way intelligent and invested as much effort in researching these occurrences, that are happening all over the country, as you do commenting on this site, you might learn something. I would really like to know where you went to school, so that I may prevent anyone I know from allowing their children to attend that school system. It obviously has failed.

      • Don 2

Because of Obamacare, many doctors are being forced to give up their private practices and join hospital groups, which in turn creates a ‘conflict of interest’ and is not in the patients best interest.

Additionally, patients are frequently being forced to see a less experienced and less knowledgeable nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and Obama wants to add millions of illegals to the healthcare system.

You are also seeing fewer nurses caring for more patients in a hospital wing, resulting in longer waits and slower service for patients, and again, Obama wants to add millions of illegals to the healthcare system.

      • Vicki

        Flashy writes:
“Facts Don…facts. Not a massive generalization without supporting your allegations. ”

@Don 2. I would not worry overmuch about flashy. He/she is not well known for supporting his allegations.

      • Don 2

Flashy’s disagreement is not with me, it is with pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carlson, the black guy that easily made Barack Obama look like an economic fool at the National Prayer Breakfast. The good doctor was speaking this morning on FOX NEWS to the issues of doctor’s pay, and planned peer retirements as a result of Obamacare.

Go for it Flashy…..It’s not brain surgery!

        • Jeff

And I’m sure you go to Ben Bernanke for medical advice.

      • Texas Ride

Thomas, I too have heard that doctors will not be allowed to quit! They will conscripted by government, being nothing more than indentured servants, to work in clinics and hospitals. Government will come get them out of their homes even if they are retired. It is being talked about in the medical community.

More likely they will be carrying out the orders of the death panels, than they will be doing any healing. The only “healing to be done” will be on the Elite know how the progressives are always talking about “fairness.” Well, that fairness is all about the masses, they will be treated “equally unfair” compared to the imperious fraud and his generals.

      • vicki

        Texas Ride says:
“Thomas, I too have heard that doctors will not be allowed to quit! They will conscripted by government, being nothing more than indentured servants, to work in clinics and hospitals. Government will come get them out of their homes even if they are retired. It is being talked about in the medical community.”

Do either of you have a cite or 2 to backup the claim that you have heard? And I don’t know about you but I would not want an unwilling doctor to work on me.

      • Texas Ride

Vickie, I just heard about this from a couple of doctors, last week. I am sure that it is somewhere in those 20,000 to 26,000 new pages that have been added to obammiecare.
If, I find out where it is, I will be happy to post it. The medical organizations have been good at keeping the doctors updated on what is coming..

      • Texas Ride

According to Section 5210 of HR 3590, titled “Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps,” the force must be ready for “involuntary calls to active duty during national emergencies and public health crises.”

Vickie, here is one reference taken from obammiecare. ” Public health crises” could mean that there were too few doctors. “Involuntary” is a strong word and means that the government can bring in those “unwilling” to serve!

      • Vicki

Thank you Texas Ride. We need such facts to repel the nonsense the left will try and use to ridicule our position as to how bad obamacare is. If your friends in the medical community can share it would certainly help our (and their) cause.

        • Jeff

I think your friend Texas Delusional Moron does have some acquaintances in the medical community. He’s the guy on the psych ward running around in scrubs. It’s how he gets his computer privileges.

      • Texas Ride

Jeff, we know you libs can’t refute what obammiecare is all about. So, your only response is “personal attacks.” There is nothing libs can say that will “sugar coat” or condone what is being perpetrated on Americans by obammiecare.

You status as “Village idiot” on PLD is secure.

        • Jeff

What has “hurt” doctors’ pay, and freedom to actually practice medicine, has been the HMO rules and regulations. Somehow you right wingnuts don’t see that as interference with the doctor-patient relationship. When the HMO tells a doctor he must see X number of patients in a day, leaving him only a few minutes with each one, does that not compromise care? But as long as somebody like Rick Scott is getting rich, it’s “just business” and you don’t care. If somebody dreams up one possible negative consequence of Obamacare, suddenly it’s the Soviet Gulag.

BTW: You still haven’t responded concerning the mental deficits demonstrated by your state’s occupants of the White House.

          • Bob666

            Yo Jeff,
Speaking of our soon to be a one term governor, did you see where out Lt Governor has resigned?

The GOP is extra proud here in the sunshine state.

          • Jeff

Obviously she was small time. If you steal $1,000, you get a prison sentence; if you steal a billion, you become Governor.

    • JimZimmerman

Flashy, None of the GOP senators voted for the Affordable care act. Not one. Your premise is flawed.

      • Flashy

Jim….how did it get out of the Senate without filibustering and requiring a Supermajority over ride? How did all those amendments get attached? What happened to the Public health option in the original bill?

Oh wait…the GOP didn’t have a hand in any of that ….jeesh

    • JimZimmerman

Flashy,Not one of the GOP Senators or congressmen voted for the Affordable Care Act. Not one. Your premise is flawed.

    • Johnny D

The flaw with obamacare is: it exists. The hope is that it is repealed.

    • Buster the Anatolian

“…are those parts insisted upon by the GOP for their votes and support of final passage.”

Proof flashy proof. Just which Republicans voted for and supported the final passage? Be sure to “prove your work” with sources and/or links.

    • ShadyChar.

You’re way off there…The GOP as You say did not have one Vote for Obamacare..No one but the Democrats voted for Obamacare! So when it all comes tumbling down like the Walls of Jericho you can’t blame the GOP beings not even One of them Voted for it…The Democrats will be at fault not the GOP as they knew what was going to take place and wanted no Part of It!

  • http://liberty massmilitia

from free citizens to slaves/ servants to a phoney ,illegal dictator hell bent on doing away with freedom which he has, democrats and republicans are both part of this freedom grab, your treated better in this country if your an illegal alien felon, “our Forefathers would have been shooting long ago

  • Ted

My employer offers a wellness program where you provide all your vital health information, (ie) blood pressure, height, weight, cholesterol levels, smoking & eatin habits. However, it is voluntary and you RECEIVE an extra $15 per month if you comply rather tha are penalized $50 if don’t. I understand the reasoning behind wellness programs, but no one should be penalized for living their lives like they want.

    • Vicki

Other than acceptance by the people what is the actual difference between charging $50 for people that don’t provide the info vs charging EVERYONE $50 more and giving a $50 “rebate” to any who provide the information?

  • E Gabris

This merely reflects the expected increase in health care costs for those who are of greater risks because of their personal choices. Those who chose to smoke are at risk of a long list of health care problems that should not be passed onto those of us who chose not to smoke.

Health insurance is about sharing risk, that is one of the benefits of Obamacare. By increasing the pool of participants, the cost of health care for high-risk individuals is spread over a greater number of participants. By eliminating the pre-existing condition, Obamacare should provide an incentive to young people to purchase health insurance there by increasing the pool of those participating.

    • http://liberty massmilitia

young people are not going to by health insurance, Are illegal aliens going to by health insurance? no they will get it for free thanks to the great dictator our saviour Barry the Phoney Kenyen. anybody who thinks Obama care is good is smoking angel dust. wait till one of your reletives is placed on the death panel list , just picture Obama standing in front of your wifes hospital bed holding his arm out with his thumb pointed down, saying shes to old, its time for her to die

      • Flashy

“wait till one of your reletives is placed on the death panel list”

It will be a long wait as such isn’t in Obamacare AND NEVER WAS …

      • Charlie

        Flashy ,,.dimwit,,,
Do you think that’s going to be in printed matter without heavy coding ???????????????/

    • Capitalist at Birth

Your lack of common sense is only exceeded by your stupidity. Most of the people not in the pool now have chronic health problems, therefore it will be necessary for costs to rise for all in the pool. Smokers and consumers of alcohol already pay excess taxes that have been added and added and added with the premiss that it will defray their higher health care costs. Now you want to bankrupt them whether or not the individual is actually the burden you claim they are. Simply a Totalitarian idea. There are better ways than forcing people to do things you think they should do. You are nothing but a dictator wanna be.

      • Capitalist at Birth

By the way. I smoked cigarettes from 1966 to 1992 and cigars from 1996 to 2012. I have the lungs and arteries of a thirty year old according to the technician performing the ultrasound test. I have paid (out of pocket) insurance premiums and Doctor/Hospital/Prescription Drug costs what the insurance companies have paid out. Where is my rebate? Hmm?

      • Warrior

“Incentive”? Buy insurance or pay a “fine”. LMAO!

      • Capitalist at Birth

Somehow I omitted the 10 times what the insurance companies paid in costs. Sorry.

    • http://PersonalLivertyDigest Mark

Are you insane? On one hand you say non-smokers should not pay for the health risks encured by smokers. On the other hand you say extremely healthy young people should pay hundreds of dollars per month in health insurance to offset the costs for those that need it.
Tell your master that it would help his cause if he were at least consistent in his diatribe.

      • OneGuess

Yeah, Mark. We see a lot of these kinds of incomprehensable (sp) comments. It makes you wonder if they even read their own comments, or just post what The Master tells them to post. There is a need to let the brain at least dry out before posting.

      • Capitalist at Birth

        To whom are you speaking?

    • Thomas

The only agenda behind Obamacare is the complete crushing collapse of the private insurance system so “the people” will scream for single-payer…which of course will be worse. “Deathcare” system is an apt description. I’d rather government get entirely out of the way and stop interposing itself between doctors and patients.

      • Flashy

Thomas…we had that “system’ you stated you preferred. It gave us third World Country health care to the vast people of this nation, quality affordable only to the elite.

      • Texas Ride

Flashless, Everyone in this country had access to healthcare! You don’t know what you are talking about. No, not everyone got a “Suite” on the top floor of Methodist Hospital like the Saudis that come to this country for healthcare, but everyone got care.

Things are not meant to be dished out “fairly or equal.” It never has been that way and it never will be that way. There will always be an “Elite Class” with the best of care and other classes down the line. Not even obammie can make everyone “equal.” Especially when he is spending more on himself than the entire Royal Family in England spends to keep up appearances. Seems to me that is a big “class difference” between the obammieman and those he PRETENDS to champion!

You haven’t about clue what is coming or you won’t admit it!

      • Bradster

40 years ago, when I was a youth being raised by a single mother, we had no insurance. We’d simply call our family physician, go in for an appointment the same or next day, get diagnosed, and pay on the way out the door. If the procedure was too expensive to pay then, it was small monthly payment on account for a few months.

When the paying relationship was between patient and physician, it was much more accessible and affordable. When it was abstracted through employers, insurance companies, and government, it became unmanageable. That abstraction was caused by government interference in the marketplace during WW2. Look it up.

What makes you think that more interference will suddenly make it better? Is there another western nation that is our size that is not struggling to keep their healthcare system afloat?

      • alpha-lemming

Kudos!!…. Don’t know what the proper term for this “fuster-cluck” should be, but it ain’t insurance. “Classic” insurance cost very little, and was reserved exclusively for catastrophic occurances…. the run-o-the-mill stuff we pay for ourselves. I like to compare it to car insurance (not a perfect analogy because the bulk of car insurance is NOT repair… administered by car doctors…. but rather liability). If car insurance was run like health care insurance, I’d get free tires, free oil-changes, free detailing, subsidized gasoline and it would cost in excess of $1000/month.

Think for a moment, do the drug companies, the medical profession and the FDA really want Americans to be healthy and healed? That would not be good for their business profits. President Eisenhower warned America about the military-industrial complex in his farewell address. Today, I think Americans are even more vulnerable to the Gestapo Pharmaceutical-Medical-FDA-Engineered Food Producers “axis of evil”.
The bottom line: in America it is all about PROFIT or GREED and to hell with everything else. Who gives a rat’s behind if a few million people die every year due to the largess of the “Axis of Evil” perpetrated on the American public.

      • Bradster

Ah yes, more regulation is the answer, along with employee ownership of the corporation. That’s sure to inject moral and social responsibility into all the evil corporations.
Forget the fact that the corporations are writing the legislation that’s being passed by bought-and-paid-for politicians in DC.
What you are seeing is corporatism, not capitalism, and a society that has divorced itself from its moral foundation.

        • Jeff

And what is that moral foundation? Is it the Judeo-Christian “feed the poor” or the Reagan-Gekko: “greed is good”?

        • tony newbill

Its the flawed and failed WTO Trade Policy thats Killed our markets and Wealth redistribution by taking away our self reliant production when we created our own vital parts supply to then be that engine of wealth redistribution . Its was Lobbied away from our communities and small business families over the years since the WTO trade Policy was adopted that allowed the consolidation of these small businesses into the Multi nationals that were bailed out and combined with the Government in 2008 .
Change the Trade Policy or it will be used against us in a Final stage of USA Collapse . Watch this video to get the knowledge needed to understand where we are and why ,

        Jeff says:
“And what is that moral foundation? Is it the Judeo-Christian “feed the poor” or the Reagan-Gekko: “greed is good”?

The Judeo-Christian “teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.”

Free the people to keep the fruits of their labor as described in this video.

      • http://personalliberty Alondra

        Jehh @10:18am
Jeffry, please point your libtardic finger at the source of the “feed the poor”. Just do NOT cite from the FALSE teachings of the self-proclaimed “evangelical preacher” Jim Wallis’ about “Collective” salvation.

But here is what the “Judeo-Christian“ teachings are teaching us on the subject: What you should do to feed yourself and family:

“If anyone is NOT WILLING to work, NEITHER SHOULD HE EAT. For we hear that SOME AMONG YOU WALK IN IDLENESS, NOT BUSY AT WORK, BUT BUSYBODIES. Now such persons we command and encourage in the LORD Jesus Christ to DO THEIR WORK QUIETLY and EARN THEIR OWN LIVING.” – Apostle Paul (2Thes.3:10-12)

“Go to the ant, O sluggard…WITHOUT having any chief, officer, or ruler…he gathers his food in harvest. HOW LONG will you lie there, O sluggard? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and POVERTY WILL COME UPON YOU like a robber.”

“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” (Pr. 10:4)

“Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those, who send him.” (Pr.10:26)

“Who is slothful, will not roast his game; but the diligent will get precious wealth.” (Pr.12:27)

Jeffry, “Do not be deceived, God IS NOT MOCKED; for whatever a man SOWS, that he will also REAP.”

P.S. Jeffry, Jesus Christ was for the capitalistic system. Read Matthew 20:1-16 and Matthew 25:14-29. Jesus is very critical of bad stewardship/bad investments.

“In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken…” – God to man Adam (Gen.3:19)

“The best way to help the poor is to make them uncomfortable in their own poverty.” – Benjamin Franklin

“Why buy cow, if you already got milk for free?” – Rush Limbaugh

Jeffry, it means: As you sow, so shall you reap

        • Jeff

Quoting Fatbaugh on an issue of morals? Maybe you ARE a pig. But I just get so scared when you say “libtard.” I just want to think just like you so you won’t call me that awful thing! If you want to be taken seriously by anyone, knock off the dumb names. I only do it in response to people like you who make entirely gratuitous remarks. I don’t care what you think of me and you don’t want to know what I think of you.

You can support anything with the Bible, even slavery. But it is undeniable, even by the likes of you and that Samurai who presumes to speak for God, that the Bible speaks highly of feeding the poor.

          “Luke 3:11

        • Bob666

          Yo Charlie,
Common sense is defined by Merriam-Webster as, “sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts.”[1] Thus, “common sense” (in this view) equates to the knowledge and experience which most people already have, or which the person using the term believes that they do or should have. The Cambridge Dictionary defines it as, “the basic level of practical knowledge and judgment that we all need to help us live in a reasonable and safe way.

Something we don’t often see from you Charlie.

“Employee rights”? Any CVS employee has the right to choose to work for another employer. The CVS policy is the natural intersection of unanticipated consequences when employers are required to provide insurance coverage equally for employees without regard for the personal responsibility asssumed by individual employees for their health. Obese smokers and those with adverse preconditions OUGHT to pay more for health insurance than those who pose a lesser financial risk to the insurer. Government, and especially Obamacare, have turned an actuarial business into another welfare program. You really went off the tracks on this one, Bob.

Not by Big Pharma, though. We get well; they go out of business. Then, put Monsanto into the mix, and, voila! Sickness forever! 13 years ago, when diagnosed with HepC, I was fortunate to have some great young residents as my primaries; and they were very open to alternative methods and prevention. The answer is an educated public. Unfortunately, many refuse to be educated.

This alternative that is being debated on MSN Money is the wrong course of action because it solves nothing regarding the cost discovery method of treatment within the healthcare industry . The Price Discovery Metrics needs to be tied to what the Consumer Premium averages are and “ What New Innovations Anticipate lower needs for treatments for illnesses “ , and this be a area where Insurance companies set up a set of health improvement categories where the policy holder gets a discount on their premium costs for keeping a Fitness goal with their doctor that is proven to lower the threat of illness . I bet these things would lead to stabilized costs .

This is a perfect example of what fascism is all about. Fascism simply defined is: Private ownership / government controlled. Of course it’s more and more loss of our private lives but is it government dictating to business or businesses taking advantage of the government’s dictates? Either way it’s fascism in practice and a complete violation of Constitutional law.

One thing we have to admit to ourselves. We have put this government in place and it isn’t just because of Obama. Going back till the fascist Bush Sr. it started to expose itself. Forget republican or democrat. They’re Republicrats. Regardless, we must put Ron and Rand Paul’s thinking back in America. We must quit listening to politicians that sell us dreams. Obama and his comrades are working 24/7 to establish a marxist / communist government in America, by any means he has to. Regarding CVS we’re in a catch 22, damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If the employees strike because of it we’re talking about socialism. If they don’t, their accepting more bondage in their lives. Of course it’s Obamacare in practice. You don’t think Obamacare was done for “humanitarian” purposes do you? It’s all about divide to conquer. In this case the people paying to produce Obamacare vs. the people getting it.

The cycle in nations is this:
Thesis – A government at peace with it’s people
    Anti-thesis – A government and it’s people in turmoil
Synthesis – The resulting form of government once the turmoil is over.
Were at the anti-thesis stage. In my opinion we’re either repent to the God who over all odds helped form America or we are going to establish the same type of government referenced in the Declaration of Indendence, without the Independence. It’s going to take sacrifice. Are we ready for that or are we still looking to political magicians.

The excuse to ram obammiecare down our throats was the “Thirty-Million uninsured” people in this country. It wasn’t clear IF these were real citizens or illegals aliens!

The Bill that was passed in the dark of night was 2,600 pages and supposedly “unread” by those that voted for it! The Bill is now 20,000 pages! We have had 17,000 pages added AFTER it was voted into law! No one knows what is in those extra pages, but it is all about this regime and its agenda. That agenda includes rationing healthcare and reducing the population. We are too many in numbers to totally control and there will be nothing wasted on the non-productive.

Obammiecare is an instrument of destruction of our country, and a total power-grab. Its basic ipurpose is not healthcare but it transforms the country into obammie’s vision for America…something the useful idiots are programmed to praise no matter what facts unfold.

    • Jeff

As long as you’re insured, there must not be any uninsured people out there. Well, that certainly meets the First Commandment in the Republican Bible: “I’ve got mine, f*** you.” Fewer an fewer companies, particularly small companies, offer health insurance and it has nothing to do with Obamacare. Prices have been rising for years and Obamacare has slowed that rise more than anything in years.

BTW: Obama is from Hawaii. He lived overseas as a kid, went to school in New York and Boston (maybe you’ve heard of Harvard) and he lived in Chicago before the people overwhelmingly elected him President to undo the massive damage done to the Country by your Texas boy, W. The German Chancellor Bismarck’s socialized medicine is what led up to the holocaust in Germany. Why pick on CVS? They aren’t the only company demanding this information from their employees, just the one you chose to name. Many of the larger corporations are now demanding this information, for “insurance purposes.” Seems that if you fall outside the norms in any of those areas, you must be in treatment for them, or you WILL pay MUCH more for your insurance. Some companies are talking figures in excess of a thousand dollars a year increase in premiums. That has nothing to do with Obamacare and everything to do with insurers finding new ways to collect extra money to up their profits.

    • Jeff

Apparently, you don’t understand the ground rules on a right wing blog. If it happens while Obama is in office, it’s his fault. I think the braintrust is working on an article blaming the North Korean nuclear tests on Obamacare as well. These guys are really persistent. Clearly, I’d be highly skeptical of any claim made here that any policy of any company has been forced by Obamacare. I’d much rather see a single payer system myself, but given the right wing opposition to Obamacare, it must do some good things.

      • Michael J.

Apparently you don’t understand what Obamacare was designed to bring about. Be careful what you wish for, because when single payer, Obamacare’s intended goal comes about, you may find yourself in front of a death panel clinging to “Rules For Radicals” when you find out what “shovel ready jobs” was really about.

        • Jeff

Do they have death panels in Canada? England? France? Germany? If those countries don’t have them, why assume we will here? We have death panels now. When an insurer refuses needed treatment, there really is no other option unless you can sneak into Canada.

      • Michael J.

Why yes they do have individuals in countries with socialized medicine who make life and death decisions that should be between doctor and patient.

        • Jeff

And we don’t have that here? What about those who can’t even get coverage in the private market? I’m sure if you had examples of horror stories from Canada or Western Europe, you’d have attached the links. Do you remember when some right winger with the IQ of a W ironically suggested that under the British Health System, Stephen Hawking would never survive?

      • Charlie R

Jeff: Your question about Canadian death panels is a good one.
Why don’t you address that question to the Canadians that come to the US for health service. Think of it like this when the government rations health services and denies patients life saving procedures that is virtually a death sentence, panel or not.
Now, here is a clue to what is going on …. taxes alone will not pay the Obamacare bill and if you recall we were told that Obamacare “would save money”.
Here is how the real money will “saved” . If you are a working tax payer of capable of working to pay taxes you will be considered favorably for services. If when you retire and no longer a taxpayer per se, and on Social Security you become a “LIABILITY” and best left to the bureaucrats that will introduce you to “end of life services” … ( death panel referrals),. Result: the politicians definition of “saving in healthcare costs and saving social security”.
Now I can not believe all the folks that do not understand the long term implications of the
fictitious “Affordable” Health Care Act . The politicians sold US (no sold you Obama believers) BS and you are falling hook line and sinker for it all. When in will you wake up?

      • Bob666

        yo jeff,
what is the difference between a “death panel” in the government and an HMO or PPO nurse doling out care to meet a bottom $ Line?

    • alpha-lemming

That has nothing to do with Obamacare and everything to do with insurers finding new ways to collect extra money to up their profits.

If…. and they probably are….. maximising profits, it’s only to get while the getting is good because they WILL ultimately be driven out of business. NO private concern can compete with an entity (Government health care) that DOES NOT HAVE TO TURN A PROFIT. They’ll be forever undersold…. and when the last vestige of anything “free-market” insurance wise closes its’ doors….. that “free” health care will be EXTREMELY expensive indeed. Look for tax rates in the 90th percentile.

    • Charlie R

The Insurance companies are in concert with Obama and the AHCA.
Add, the Pharmaceutical companies too. They all conspired to “rape your wallet” all in the name of providing ” Affordable Healthcare”. Pelosi’s statement “We will find out whats in the bill after we pass it”, should give you a some kind of clue.

Politicians really know how to “market their products” don’t they?

      • Jeff

Do you have names of some of these people? There are people who sneak into Canada and use someone’s address there so they can get treated. I guess they just like breathing. I happen to know some people from Canada who certainly have the money to get treated anywhere they want. They spend a lot of time in the U.S. but always head home for medical care. I’m sure there are some conditions that are better treated in the U.S. than elsewhere, but for the kind of routine, preventive care that is done quite well and relatively cheaply in Canada and Western Europe, it’s just not available to many Americans. The result is many get very sick and have to undergo expensive treatment in hospitals and you get to pay. Our system needed an overhaul. If Obamacare isn’t the ideal solution, it certainly beats the Republican proposals as they had none. For 6 years, they held both houses of Congress and the White House and did nothing but pass a prescription drug benefit designed to enrich drug companies even more.

      • Charlie R

Jeff : you LAWAYS BLAME the Republicans …. are u an Obama clone?
Your not getting it Jeff. Isn’t that information covered under HIPAA privacy regulations? I’ve worked for health insurance companies and I was told by the attorneys there that this kind of personal information is protected health information and cannot be divulged to any entity or any other persons not authorized by the individual.

    • Charlie R

There are now 28,000 pages to the AHCA ( Obamacare) and it is still growing.
If you would read 100 pages a day, it will take 76.7 years to read the whole bill.
Now, do you really think “attorneys are up to speed on the implications of the entire bill?

If you think the “benevolent Federal Government” has not laced AHCA with regulation’s that infringe on your privacy and your right to decide on what is best for you, then you are to trusting of what has become an “Imperious Federal Government’.

Eventually, Obamas death panels will cut you off from healthcare and send you to the grave. That is what Government “Cradle to Grave” health care is about and
you now have OBAMA GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE , like it or not!

      • Jeff

Invasion of privacy is one thing; “death panels” are quite another. I’ll bet you don’t have a problem with “death panels” in Texas where a defendant in a capital case can be “adequately represented” by an attorney who’s drunk. We send innocent people to death row all the time, but Repugs don’t seem too interested in doing away with that system.

      • Charlie R

First; You have no idea of my sentiments on Texas death penalties.
So consider this: Many states have banned death penalties.
Second; There is something called “states rights” and states have certain rights that the Federal Government has yet to usurp. So far, Texas (and all other states) have the right to determine penalties.
Third: Texas has had both democrat and republican state legislatures and thusfar the people of Texas seem to be satisfied with what they have. When that changes Texas too may do away with death penalties.
Fourth: I do not know how you can reconcile Government Health Care that enables bureaucrats to determine what health care a patient can receive and ultimately deny life saving treatment because it costs to much. In one case a perp unlawfully takes a life and “pays the penalty”, in the other, the government denies health care and the patient dies and we call it “the law’ … go figure.
Fifth; You apparently have a “blame based, biased agenda” as illustrated by who you sophomorically call “Repugs”. Now that certainly speaks volumes doesn’t it?

Just getting to vote doesn’t mean free, because were only voting on whatever these two twin parties are giving us and then, the same two parties are counting the votes. How long until they remove the word “Freedom” from the dictionary.

    • Kinetic1

      Amazing. Day after day I see Libertarians like Ron & Rand Paul quoted on this site. The cry for freedom includes everything from ending any number of government over site agencies to abolishing portions of the equal rights amendment. TEA party favorites shout;
The government should get out of the way of business!
I abhor racism, but If a restaurant want’s to exclude black folks, they should have the right!
Forcing a minimum wage is wrong!
But when a business wants to cut their health care costs by getting a better handle on the health of their employees, well that’s just wrong! There are Federal laws against this sort of thing, right?

Sorry folks, but you can’t have it both ways.

Dont give us the information we will smack you down with fines and extra charges…just recently every single smoker was fired from the local hospitol, yes they were given notice to quit smoking, oh and even those on electronic cigs were fired — they didnt even smoke tobacco at all…this was for INSURANCE PREMIUM REDUCTION.

        “Spoken like a true socialist/communist Kinetic1.”
Really? Questioning the hypocrisy of those who would demand the government get out of the way of business, Then demand the government step in when it affects them is “socialist/communist”? Libertarian leaders like Rand Paul go so far as to say that businesses should be allowed to discriminate based on color, sex etc., yet here on “Personal Liberty” they blame the government when businesses begin requiring health information from their employees. Am I really displaying socialist/communist tendencies by pointing this out?

I don’t like what CVS is doing. I understand that those with higher risk factors drive up the cost of insurance, but that’s just how the game works. Insurance is, in some ways a socialist system. Those who are in the program share the burdens and the benefits, and as in most socialist programs (or human interaction in general) there are those who pull more than their own weight and those who carry less, and the former are often upset by the latter. So here CVS is trying to force those who cost more to pay a larger share. I would almost expect folks on this site to applaud such action. How many times have I read condemnations of “lazy welfare cheats” on this site? Now you want to defend the rights of smokers who’s selfish and self destructive actions are driving up the costs for the rest of us? Again, you can’t have it both ways.

  • Charlie R

Obamacare is the linchpin that will control everyones life “cradle to grave’.

When the government takes over something they, not you, control it.
When the government “gives you something” they will tell you “how to use it .
The Government can ” also take it away” just as Obamacare does to all the folks
    that paid into Medicare.

The dirty secret is the Obama Affordable Health Care Act (AHCA)is anything but affordable. And if you think your “benevolent government” cares about you as an individual, then you are sorely mistaken.

    • mamamia

I wouldn’t exactly call the Affordable Care Act “giving you something” it is only an alternative to those without insurance. It doesn’t touch mine. I have employee paid insurance already. So no…. they can’t take it back once you sign up for it. It is designed so that the more people that have it, the less it costs.

      • Charlie R

Well you are certainly one of the lucky ones mamamia. however, The AHCA will ultimately drive private health care costs up and I am surprised that you are not aware of this. ( as an illustration : The AHCA imposes taxes on medical divices, who pays for that?

If you recall, Obamacare was pushing for ‘single payer status” and that was compromised to the current bill which will, by intent, drive up private health care premiums and thus drive people to the OBAMACARE single payer plan over time.
Obamacare can not work without full participation.

As far as rising health care premiums, my latest premiums are up +30% for the same coverage. Good thing you are insulated from rising health care premiums, you are indeed fortunate, at least for now

Want more on this then see Robert Smith comments above on his experience with doctors and prescription costs.

Obamacare i closing in and the uninformed are in for some real surprises. As I stated previously the legislature is excellent “sugarcoating” and ” marketing their products”.

    • Robert Smith

Charlie says: “Obamacare is the linchpin that will control everyones life “cradle to grave’.”

Do you REALLY trust corporations like big pharma, insurance companies, and corporations like Ford to make the best health care decisions for you?

Private health insurance is basically a total failure for those who don’t have it, and it isn’t the best it could be for the rest of us.

      • Charlie R

NO! And, I never said what you imply
The same legislature that passed the previous laws (favoring the insurance companies, pharmasuitacals et al) is the same imperious legislature that gave U Obamacare.
And if you do not think these same interests were not in league with the legislators, then you may want to rethink that possibility

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. This time the result may not be any different we will see down the road how Government controlled health care ( 28,000 pages so far), thins out your wallet.

      • Alan

Do “I” REALLY trust corporations like big pharma, insurance companies, and corporations like Ford to make the best health care decisions for “me”? Absolutely not! But I trust the federal government even less…..

  • Jeanette

Have they considered that natural fibers are healthier than synthetic, and that higher heels on shoes can cause twisted ankles? And I guess their female employees had better quit using most of the makeup that CVS sells. And while we’re speaking of female employees, has CVS approved all types of feminine hygiene products, and if not, how are they planning on checking that their female employees are not using something on the “not approved” list?

  • Jim B

Don’t sign it, any of it! When you go into any kind of care center, facility, your doctor’s office, hospital, any of it, be careful you don’t sign you privacy away. If you don’t know what your signing for disclosure of your health records don’t sign it, JUST SAY NO… especially if it is going to be used to inform the government’s national database of information. Tell your doctor you want nothing shared with no one but him/her or his/her office physician group… period.

    • Robert Smith

But the FACT is that without detailed information the insurance company won’t pay. BTW, the company I work for just changed providers and I have to change two specialists I’ve been with for over 5 years because they aren’t in the “new” plan.

Please explain to me how NOT choosing my own specialist is better than Obamacare.

Oh and the cost of prescriptions has doubled on two of them. From $40 to $80 EACH per month.

      • Jim B

Feel for you Rob! My comment was about the new disclosure paperwork you are required to fill out at these offices. Be careful, if it is not specific to your doctors the information will be broadly placed in databases that many, including the government can access. In time decisions to save your life may be based on information you never intended to release to these medical watchdogs.

      • Texas Ride

In my experience, doctors will not see anyone that doesn’t fill out and sign all the forms. They all are collecting information for the government. There is no such thing as “Privacy” any longer.

    Mr. Livingston…

You seem very determined in wanting to remain, or at least project to others your confused reasoning that justifies the fantasy island in which you live. Firts, insurance premiums have been increasing outrageously every year before ‘Obamacare’ ever appeared in the landscape; and independently of it continues to be so, although not as outrageously as it was prior to the ACA.
The idea that, or attempting to promote that somehow what CVS is doing is a direct result of the ACA is disingenuous at best, and/or dumb at worst.
What CVS is doing is the result of the beliefs espouse and promoted by conservatives and libertarians alike that private business such as the CVS corporation are Supreme and beyond government’s regulations because they are a private enterprise, or to use a term republicans love to use, they are the ‘jobs creators’.
Mr. Livingstone, you can’t have it both ways. You bow down at the ‘altar’ of their supremacy (free enterprise, corporation, and corporations are people too) while simultanous blaming someone else for their trespass. Go figure!. Thus the ultimate insult will manifest when the corporate structure aided by T-Party’s and the likes of the modern libertarians in conjunction with the ‘right’ movement, becomes the ‘de-facto’ government of the United States.
Burning the candle on both ends….is a conservative’s ability no one should overlook, ever.
And while free enterprise should be allow to flourish, it should not be allow behaviour that is unbecoming of a private, free enterprise entity.
Maybe this will remind you why long ago ‘company towns’ were made illegal.
    Wake up, Mr. Livingston.

Wasn’t this all happening BEFORE “affordable health care” had a name??? Doing really think “doing nothing” would have made it better with the same companies running the shop?? And what value do insurance companies add? The biggest share of the money we spend on healthcare is spent on the owners of private hospitals and the owners of HMOs. Under Obamacare, overhead is limited to 20%, I believe. So, up until now, administrative costs have been eating up what – 30%? Meanwhile, Medicare is operated for about 5%. I don’t believe Mr. Sowell believes half the stuff he comes up with but it sounds so good to be quoted by Fatbaugh and Fox News he just can’t help himself.

The new flim flam artists making tons of money are these HMO crooks like Rick Scott. His company ripped off the government for how much exactly? The Halliburton of Healthcare. Does that make Scott Dick Cheney?

Please watch this video: “Iron Mountain – Blueprint for Tyranny”

The video is long (2:40:00), but it’s worth the time. It’s an eye opener.

In 1961 the Kennedy administration ordered a top secret study to determine the problems facing the United States, if the world moved from an era of War to a Golden Age of peace.

By 1963 the selection of specialists had been made. The final Study Group consisted of 15 experts in various Academic disciplines, selected for their expertise in their respective fields. Their first and last meetings were held at an underground nuclear survival retreat called IRON MOUNTAIN.

This study was concluded in 1966. President Lyndon Johnson gave the order that the report was NEVER to be released, due to the nature of the conclusion reached. One of the men involved in this study elected to release it to the public, at great risk to himself under the name of John Doe. It was published in 1967 by Dial Press.

The establishment promptly renounced it as a HOAX, but IT WAS NO HOAX.

Iron Mountain is now hard to obtain, but many large libraries still have copies of it.
This report looks deep into the soul of the NEW WORLD ORDER under the UN control.

Iron Mountain is the covert agenda to bring the world, and America, under the control of the United Nations.

Report’s objective was to determine, accurately and realistically the nature of the problems that would confront the United States…

Program – Agenda: HOW DO WE CONTROL THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA if we move to an Era of Peace?

Iron Mountain was ordered in1961, the same year that the United States made major moves towards disarmament.

The Kennedy Administration knew that the United States would have to be submerged under United Nations.

        Here’s a paragraph from

“The acceleration of critical trends and cross-impacts among them indicates that the ‘window of opportunity’ for pulling out of the present global crisis and breaking through to a more peaceful and sustainable world is likely to be no more than four to five years from the end of 2008. This is close in time to the Mayan 2012 prophecy for the end of the current world. The period around the end of 2012 is likely to be a turbulent one for this and other reasons. Predictions coming from the physical sciences foresee disturbances in the geomagnetic, electromagnetic and related fields that embed the planet causing significant damage to telecommunications and impacting many aspects of human activity and health. For the esoteric traditions the end of 2012 will be the end of the known world, although the more optimistic intepretations speak of a new world taking the place of the old.”

I’m not sure when this was was written but appears to have been around 2007-2008. This is predicting the end of the world in 2012. The global warming crowd is truly evil. And stupid.

Really Jeff? Here is something from Ms. Sebelius, Obama bin Laden Administration, showing how Obama bin Laden Care is raising insurance premium costs.

Why would you take the word of Magic Johnson? He’s a rich man and can afford the cost increases, but what about the average working American? Can they afford them, hmmm? And Obama was sent here from what planet to be our Overlord? So, the world’s leading climate scientists are “stupid” and you’re “smart” because you can cut and paste a ridiculous article about the world ending? How, exactly, does this article disprove the CO2 hypothesis concerning climate change?

I believe everyone agrees we have a serious problem with the ever increasing cost of health care and that no prior administration has done something about it. However, the government, by taking it over, will not solve that problem. Certainly, you don’t really believe they will, do you?

Do you recall that Obama said there will not be any cost increases if the government takes over health care? Yet, since the bill became law, everyone including Obama, has agreed that health care costs will continue to increase.

If you believe that, by adding another layer of cost for the federal government’s involvement in controlling and administrating health care will result in solving our problem, you are indeed delusional.

      • nc

Savage, What I do believe is that the market place will not make health care costs more affordable in our life time! I am 77 years old and it has never gotten any cheaper that I recall! Advanced treatments and the “machinery” to perform them are only going to get more expensive if the future reflects the past! To make sure that the poor with out proper treatment will not infect the otherwise healthy will continue to increase as a problem especially if people like Mr. Livingston and others fight vaccinations
Do really think the market place will bring down the costs??.

  • Stephan F

Ahhhh, Obamacare, the prize jewel in the current regime’s favorite form of vote buying: crony capitalism.

It’s been sold to the useful idiots as a miracle cure for the country’s wrecked medical care system — caused by too many years of excessive government abuse & involvement. It’s a total fraud that’s going to be a complete disaster, and it will produce much higher costs, which is just the opposite as what it was sold as. But the political parasites who comprise the system (hospital chains, insurance companies, suppliers, medical equipment manufacturers, govt employees, unions, etc, etc), don’t give a tinkers damn about that because they have a “vested interest” to protect. They are the members of one of the most powerful (and immoral) cartels in our current banana-republic. Always keep in mind that those who advocate & support more government involvement in anything do so because they BENEFIT from it! And they have the most to gain, by far, from implementing ObamaCare (besides the politicians who passed the bill, of course).

If you lived during the 70′s era of gas shortages and long gas lines then you got a taste of what it will be like when you see the results of this new modern form of socialistic medicine about to befall us.

    Pleasant dreams Grosse Point

“Communism, socialism, or fascism are not some intellectual doctrines or belief mechanisms that politicians actually believe in, such as those found in science or philosphy, but are mere tools used to obtain power, influence, and, above all, easily obtained wealth.” – S.F.

      • Jeremy Leochner

There is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion and having your own beliefs. But the truth is the truth. Obama is neither a Muslim or a Marxist or a Communist or a Fascist. I know this because the proposals that Obama has made do not even come close to those ideologies.

These are the definitions of those three ideologies. Tell me how Obama’s proposals fit these categories. Please bear in mind they need to be all but exactly like them. You can’t be like a fascist. You either are or are not.

As for Obama being a Muslim. Obama has repeatedly avowed that he is a Christian. For crying out loud even his harshest critics have accused him repeatedly of being a Black Liberation Christian. Ever heard of the Reverend Wright Controversy.

The truth is the truth Ridge. I am not trying to pick on you for stating your views. I am simply pointing out that I believe you are wrong in this instance.

        • Jeff

Are you actually trying to reason with Ridge Rat? His IQ is so low he could murder an entire village on TV and only Texas and Arkansas would impose the death penalty.

      • Jeff

        Ridge Rat:

You’re back. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an honest-to-goodness display of idiotic vulgarity replete with mis-spellings as only you can deliver. I assume you just got released. Got your belt and shoelaces back? Yes, Obama’s still president so you can just let fly with all the racial invective your tiny mind can conjure.

    • Jeremy Leochner

What I want to know Stephen is your proposal. There are aspects of Obamacare which I disagree with like requiring people to buy health insurance. I personally believe in a single payer system. What matters to me is providing everyone with health care. People should not have to buy health care like its a product. Caring for the sick or injured is a service.

As for those ideologies you mentioned. Neither Communism, Socialism of Fascism characterize our present government. I know this because we still have private property and free enterprise which cannot happen under Communism or Socialism:

As for fascism as long as we the people can continue to speak out in public or on blogs or in other way against the government it will remain my firm belief that ours is not one which “stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition ”

    Here’s an interesting letter…posted: 4/15/2012 @ 5:26PM

Doctors, no fans of (health insurance), are openly rooting that Obamacare will be struck down by SCOTUS, as appears to be the direction of things after last month’s oral arguments.

A recent poll by, a physican’s website, revealed that 75 percent of doctors are against the health care law, and a survey by Deloitte, a major health consulting firm, found that 69 percent of physicians are “pessimistic about the future of medicine” because of the law.

Why? “Because we physicians understand what many lawyers and judges don’t, that insurance – no matter what kind – presents a bureaucratic barrier between doctor and patient, between my desire to help you and actually being able to do so. The so-called Affordable Care Act increases the problem by extending it to more people rather than providing solutions. If Obamacare stands, its review boards and committees will make recommendations that are sure to stifle my creativity and interfere with my one-on-one doctoring even as they decide that one medical service is better than another and that I am being paid too much for procedures it has taken me decades to master.

I am concerned that the machinations of Obamacare will squelch a young person’s desire to become a doctor in the first place. At a time when we need more doctors, not less, the number of medical school applicants is down 3,000 applicants a year since 1996. Today’s graduating medical students are looking down the road into Obamacare’s overregulated poor paying future and are choosing to not become low paying primary care doctors like me. Studies have shown that the ranks of primary care internists have already decreased by a third from 1985 to 2008. That number is sure to double by 2014 unless the law is dismantled.

The fundamentals of Obamacare ignore the simple economic truths of supply and demand. I believe the individual mandate is unconstitutional because it is forcing people to buy a product. But beyond that, it doesn’t make sense to add more customers to an event that is already filled to capacity. If Obamacare were a carnival that can only admit 100 customers, then selling tickets to 200 will only lead to long lines, dissatisfied customers, and exhausted employees.

As one of those exhausted employees, I believe it is disingenuous for supporters of the law to make the claim that health care is a special case since we all get sick eventually. When you add 32 million more people to an overburdened system with too few doctors and those doctors we do have dropping out of insurances in droves, you are creating a perfect storm. It is one thing for the government to extend the National Health Service Corp or build more clinics to take care of the poor or insist that ERs don’t turn sick people away, it is quite another to extend insurance without the caretakers to work with it.

If the individual mandate stands, it will become necessary for the federal government to pass another mandate for doctors. If that sorry day ever comes, I will be compelled to join the ranks of those who shutter their windows and close their doors”. -Marc Siegel MD is an associate professor of medicine and medical director of Doctor Radio at NYU Langone Medical Center, a member of the Fox News Medical A Team, and author of The Inner Pulse; Unlocking the Secret Code of Sickness and Health.

The Obamacare Revolt: Physicians Fight Back Against the Bureaucratization of Health Care Will it make a difference? -Jim Epstein / March 13, 2013

      • Kate8

Jay – Yes, but don’t forget that, when Castro took over Cuba, he FORCED the doctors to continue to practice, and at a very menial wage.

I fully expect that Obama will try to do the same here.

      • http://personalliberty Alondra

Hi Kate. Nice to see you back. I hope everything is OK.
        Did you take your vacation?

    • GALT

      Yes, that was quite interesting…..

“Because we physicians understand what many lawyers and judges don’t, that insurance – no matter what kind – presents a bureaucratic barrier between doctor and patient, between my desire to help you and actually being able to do so.

Trying to sort out that bit of incongruency, amidst the triumvirate of “western medicine”,
actual “health care” and “private vs public option insurance” would seem
somewhat absurd, of course… the “doctor” probably isn’t considering
“actual health care” to be the fiasco and sham it is?

Then of course we have to consider the “goal” which is stated as the purpose of
the legislation……”outcome based treatment”, rather than the present formula.
Which at least “seems” like possible “health care”?

Less medical school applicants????? Who needs more shills for “symptom treatment”
and “big pharma”…….the decrease in doctors would probably save lives.

Finally, this guy claims to be a primary care physician and ends with:

If Obamacare stands, its review boards and committees will make recommendations that are sure to stifle my creativity and interfere with my one-on-one doctoring even as they decide that one medical service is better than another and that I am being paid too much for procedures it has taken me decades to master.

      What procedures?

Be interesting to see Bob and the doc here in a debate…….one wonders what
      what it would consist of?

  • http://personalliberty Alondra

“It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospital, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospital, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it.” —Thomas Sowell!
Three years ago, Dr. Keith Smith, co-founder and managing partner of the Surgery Center of Oklahoma, took an initiative that would only be considered radical in the health care industry: He posted online a list of prices for 112 common surgical procedures. The 51-year-old Smith, a self-described libertarian, and his business partner, Dr. Steve Lantier, founded the Surgery Center 15 years ago, after they became disillusioned with the way patients were treated at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, where the two men worked as anesthesiologists. In 1997, Smith and Lantier bought the shell of a former surgical center with the aim of creating a for-profit facility that could deliver first-rate care at a fraction of what traditional hospitals charge.
The major cause of exploding U.S. health care costs is the third-party payer system, a text-book concept in which A buys goods or services from B that are paid for by C. Because private insurance companies or the government generally pick up most of the tab for medical services, patients don’t have the normal incentive to seek out value.
The Surgery Center’s consumer-driven model could become increasingly common as Americans look for alternatives to the traditional health care market—an unintended consequence of Obamacare. Patients may have no choice but to look outside the traditional health care industry in the face of higher costs and reduced access to doctors and hospitals.

For complete text of the report with numbers go to the link provided in description.
Compare the Hospital’s numbers with the Surgery Center’s numbers.

Ah, yes. The personal attack. Classic 5th column strategy. Here Alondra brings up some interesting facts and all Jeffy could do is deliver a personal attack. SSDD about attacking certain people, but then doesn’t look at the low lifes of the left. Michael Moore, Jessie Jackson, Hitlery, Bill “Did a Lewinsky” Clinton, Harry Reid, Boxer, Waters, Feinstein, Pelosi, Farrakhan, and many others. Fifth Column? What are you, the Asian Joe McCarthy? One would think you’d have a bit more understanding of false accusations, but one would be wrong. The recent history of discrimination and false accusations in this country should make a thinking person avoid making such charges, but that’s a club from which you are definitely “left out.” Amazing. An Asian history teacher making false charges against others. It’s like you have no self awareness at all. With all due respect, have you ever seen the Federal Government “seek out value”? It is well known that the Federal Government has a penchant for wastefull spending.

Now Jeff, get a grip. Alondra has given you one good idea that the legislators never considered and there are plenty more that went unheeded. Now, why would our legislators not consider workable alternatives Jeff?

Because of the POWER it gives to them Jeff, pure and simple. Please figure this out before you have the same rude awakening that others are experiencing as you defend bad legislation passed by both members of congress.

Jeff, I trust that you are aware of the payoffs some congressional leaders received and the number of AHCA Exemptions granted to Obama and Democrat Special interest minions. Now, why don’t you speak to and defend that.

And Jeff, saddling people with allegorical comments (like the Beck and Sara thing ) does not strengthen your case.

        Have a nice day, Jeff.

Don’t you think the ones that promote and perform infanticide are the one that are truely insane? They now have a Dr. Gosnell on trial for killing 8 babies born alive, botched abortions, and North Dakota now recognizes a human life starting at conception. In Korea, where Sook Young is from, they have the same belief and standard of when life begins. Why do you even post Jeff? You bring nothing but wasted space to this site. Get lost! Well the only thing I can see to do is to refuse to participate. What would happen if the people decided to stand and refuse to participate in obamacare. What if the people said

He has only as much power as we give him, which he can be immediately stripped of if we refuse to participate. What are they going to do? Put us all in jail for following the Constitution?

Why would we ever let someone force us to do something that is against the Constitution? You can’t force me to buy something I either don’t need, want or can’t afford. The US Constitution says no one can force me to enter into commerce.

You are correct. It is called the Commerce Clause in the Constitution. The government cannot force you to buy into or pay for something. They can offer things, but you have the right to say no without being fined by the IRS to opt out. Sook Young and I have decided to opt out and we will not pay any fines for doing so. We also do not go to CVS, but if we go to the hospital, we get our perscriptions filled at the hospital pharmacy. They tend to cost up to 40% less than the pharmacies outside the hospital. We have had to pay extra for ins for years now for not completing a wellness survey! This was way before Obama Care. It’s big companies nosing in on our business in cohoots w/our ins. company. Probably for a kickback. I refuse to fill out the wellness survey, they get enough info anyway! And i’m sure this in an illegal company policy, don’t y’all know it?

    • Mike

Yes candie and Obama is just as much in bed with big pharma as the last guy, and the guy before him, and the guy before him,……..
You say this like it ISN’T Obama’s fault. It IS Obama’s fault because he is the one who promised to change Washington. To be transparent. To stop all the special interests.
He jumped right into bed with all the big money corporations, including bigpharma, and not only did he NOT do what he promised, he actually went way beyond what any other President has EVER done by expanding special interests and major corporations influence in D.C.
This guy is a joke and the laugh is on us.

  • ex-millman

Big Pharma is a joke and so is the FDA as they can’t make up their minds as to just what they are doing about our health. As for Bloomberg if he dyed his hair black and got a Hitler mustache he would look just like Hitler. He is like that black muslim in washington they both want to tell everyone how to live. They are both butt end jokes!!

  • Carol J

And then there’s what Humana did to my brother just to get him to sign with them. He asked specifically if our cardiologist was covered by them. He was told yes and showed him the list while he was online with them. When we got there for his app’t, he was informed that Humana did not have them. Since Humana is one of those that is combined with medicare, he was unable to be seen. And now, of course, he can’t change insurance companies until the gov’t says he can.

    • Jeff

I’m sure Texas will explain to you how that was Obama’s fault, too.

    • Chris

Carol J. We are told when we sign up for a Medicare supplement that we can change polices ONCE a year. If your brother did not comprehend that then perhaps he needs a guardian to supervise him.

      • Carlucci

It sounds like Carol’s brother is on a Medicare Advantage plan, not a Medicare supplement.

I am an insurance agent, and you obviously are not. If you were, you would know that there is a big difference between the two.

Typical of any program dreamt up by Government, They NEVER work as they are first claimed to. This “Obozoscare” is by far the worst program by Government ever!
Not only were we deliberately lied to by Obozo on what he promised,….affordable?
reliable? won’t “add” the already over bloated budget? We must stop this mad man, before he strips us of all of our constitutional rights! Even though what we had before sucked, Obozoscare can only make things worse!

    • Jeff

“Typical of any program dreamt up by Government, They NEVER work as they are first claimed to. This “Obozoscare” is by far the worst program by Government ever!”

I’m pretty sure your grandfather said the same of social security and your father of medicare. At some point, crying “wolf” stops working.

      • Mike

Jeff, yes that is probably true and how are SS and Medicare doing right now by the way? Oh yeah, they are nearly bankrupt. Way to go feds. The feds have NEVER done anything that can even be remotely construed as successful.

        • Jeff

Those programs sometimes need to be tweaked (e.g. raising the cap on social security), but they have fundamentally transformed the lives of generations of Americans. Do you really want to return to the days when people literally worked until they died or “retired” in squalor?

      • Motov

Yeah they were “tweaked” all right, by LBJ when he moved the SS fund into the general funds so they could SPEND it, Carter then made it ok for those who never contributed a dime into this system , collect full benefits, Obozoscare is just another rip-off designed to take away our rights.

  • Mable8

The obamadeathcare bill is a study for eugenics–a means to get rid of population segments what are considered unworthy of life simply because they are not “viable” human beings. This is not only aimed at the elderly, but at the neonates found in any hospitals’ NICU as well as anyone who has suffered a head trauma that has reduced them to a mental retardate. Those with mental illness or retardation are fair game as well. What this administration wants are workers in good health–because they make good slaves. There is no interest in helping anyone in need; if there is a need, destroy the person. The cowards in congress will do nothing to totally defund this monstrous albatross that has been forced onto a rejecting public.

    • Jeff

Just because you state something as a fact doesn’t make it one. I can say you are the spawn of the Devil determined to bring this Country to its knees, but if I have no evidence to support what I say, it’s pretty irrelevant. Do you have ANY evidence of such intent or ANY evidence that such eugenics programs are being practiced in Canada or Western Europe where the government actually IS in control of health care?

Do you understand that when you talk like a lunatic, people will treat you like one? Nobody in favor of Obamacare has any intent to help people get medical care? Is that what you’re saying? It’s just a massive conspiracy to kill the mentally deficient? I can see why you’d be worried!

    • Bob666

      Yo Mable,
“obamacare bill is a study for eugenics”

It will be OK Mable, take your meds and all will be OK.

“If we granted that right to employers, employers could tell employees who to date, who to see, what kinds of foods to eat, what to drink, all kinds of behavior off site could be controlled. <<

we have been doing that for a long time. employees are now being fired based on whom they voted for. and the gop supports that.

seems ironically amusing that the party who fights to control a women's medical choice, who may own a gun or whom may be married, now wants to complain about control.

  • Chris

I trust WebMD more than I trust the the kooky stuff that is peddled on this site. CVS employees are lucky to have any health insurance paid by their employer. We pay for our own health insurance and all we can afford, $700 a month for $11,000 (a year) deductable. Do you people understand that we pay for EVERYTHING until we reach $11,000 each year, yet we still pay $700 every MONTH???? THAT is the American system and lots more people will die due to lack of care than socialized medicine would cause.

I guarantee that those of you who rail against socialized medicine DON’T pay for your own health insurance. Someone else pays for it, OFTEN the taxpayers. I am a taxpayer and cannot afford any kind of decent coverage. I am sick of providing coverage for fat lazy people. Half of of Americans are overweight, causing even more expense to those who pay for it. THAT is the problem.

    • Jeff

You are correct. Insurance by its nature is a collective enterprise. We are each impacted by the behaviors of others. If we live amongst firebugs, our fire insurance premiums will rise. The primary differences between an insurance system and a government system? No control by the average citizen and huge profits to the insurer. Guess which is favored by the Repugs?

  • Chris

Isn’t that an invasion of privacy CVS? Isn’t that doctor/patient confidentiality? Those who work for CVS should try looking for another job………maybe with another drugstore chain. I’ve always hated CVS for their high prices………but when they built a store about 20 feet away directly on the opposite corner of a long-standing Rite Aid in my area, my hatred for CVS intensified……….what gall!
