Conservative Radio Host: Romney Cannot Beat Obama

Conservative Radio Host: Romney Cannot Beat Obama

Popular conservative radio host Michael Savage said recently that he does not believe that Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has what it takes to beat Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

Savage was apparently outraged by Romney’s lackluster response to Obama’s decision to make recess appointments while Congress is in session, and said that if the candidate is incapable of real criticism against the President he is also incapable of leading the Nation.

“If the best Mitt Romney is going to say is that [Obama's] just a nice guy, but he’s just in over his head, then Mitt Romney is a putz,” Savage said. “He is a bad guy. And he is not over his head,” Savage said. “Barack Hussein Obama is 10 times smarter than Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is way over his head.”

The host of the highly-rated conservative radio show said that he is now eyeing Rick Santorum as the most capable GOP candidate.

Savage, who previously “jokingly” offered Newt Gingrich $1 million to drop out of the race, is still calling for the former House Speaker to bow out because “of the damage he is doing to the other candidates.”

“Gingrich needs to be put into a barrel, stripped naked and made to run around the country like the figure he is,” Savage said on his show Friday. “This man is a rolling embarrassment and a threat to the survival not of the Republican Party but of the United States of America.”

Why risk putting a closet version of Obummer into the White House? Romney will never be able to live down creating the prototype of Obummer’s healthcare scam. One Obummer is too much. Two rounds of Obummer is absolutely inexcusable.

    • James

SC, Yes but Romney won the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries. You’re overlooking the fact that most voters fall for the good looks ever-smiling face and body movements. Romney only says what makes people feel good, that wins every time. He gives them hope, which they crave.

  • Robert Smith

Posted: “Savage was apparently outraged by Romney’s lackluster response to Obama’s decision to make recess appointments while Congress is in session,”

I didn’t hear a word out of Savage when Bush appointed so many many more than Obama has.

    Rob

    • Randy131

Congress wasn’t in recess when Obama made those appointments, which Bush honored by not making appointments under the same circumstances, created by Harry Reid, and this last law that Obama signed was passed under the same circumstances that Obama claims is really a recess, and if true, then Obama signed a ‘Bill’ that is illegal and cannot be made a law. According to Obama, he decides when Congress is in recess, not Congress, despite them passing ‘Bills’ under the same circunstance that Obama declares them to be in recess, and that is a fact and very true, because Obama signed that ‘Bill’ into law.

  • Stephan F.

Typical comments from another typical talking bone-head. Yes Mr. Savage, your right — Mitt-for-brains Romney is a putz. But let’s extend this thought process a little farther, shall we. This term easily applies to all the other sh*t-for-brains G.W.B. RINO clones still running. But there is one Republican that stands apart from that crowd. And who, pray tell, is that? Why you’d probably know him better by his more common name, Mr. Savage, a name you certainly help perpetuate: “the forgotten man”. So to you, I say, congratulations for your diligent efforts to keep Ron Paul the most closely guarded secret in the country. And you may now move to the head of the sh*t-for-brains class!

If Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney get the Republican (GOP) nomination to run for
president of my United States of America, I will be voting for the Constitution Party
candidate – whom ever that might be.

    • Tony

I know you’re upset, as am I, but this is a vote for Obama. Use your head!!

      • JC

Au Contraire my mainstream media trained friend…
A vote for a Globalist is a vote for Globalism, and that might as well be the Kenyan as their is no discernable difference.
        Go Ron Paul.

    • eddie47d

So you’d vote for the Republican clones-in-chiefs (Perry,Gingrich,Bachmann,Trump,Romney,Cain,Santorum) just to spite Obama. The “anybody but Obama” crowd will get just that ..anybody!

      • wandamurline

ABSOLUTELY….MICKEY MOUSE WOULD BE BETTER THAN THE INELIGIBLE WE HAVE IN THE WHITE HOUSE NOW.

      • eddie47d

        You’re too easy Wanda!

      • Tim

I would vote for Newt’s cat before i would vote for Obama

    • FWO21

Sounds good to me, but that’s what I did in 2008 and it didn’t help because not enough people will do it. We can’t afford to have Obama in there again though.

  • Cincinnatus

Savage is right – Romney cannot beat Obama. What is he going to attack him on?

Back in the 2008, Romney said at a debate he support tougher gun control including the ban on assult weapons. Now he says he doesn’t believe in gun control.

Romney’s people helped write Obamacare and modeled it after Romneycare – now Romney is against it.

This guy is a nightmare that I could never vote for – RINO doesn’t come close to describing him because even that makes him sound conservative.

  • Randy131

I’m not a big fan of Savage, but I believe he has this call correct. I don’t believe Romney could beat Obama either. Obama will kill him on his cut-throat business practices, that have destroyed jobs instead of creating them, for greedy reasons. There is a difference between making a profit, and making a killing at the expense of the common worker, and Mitt Romney apparently doesn’t care about that difference, only about the most money he can make at others’ expense. But there is one thing for sure, we have to defeat Obama to save this country, for we will not survive another 4 years with Obama as the President, and this nation survive as we know it.

    • FWO21

You’re probably right Randy131; why do you think main stream media has been all for Romney; sounds just like 2008 except they pandered to Obama. They do that now with Romney because when Romney comes the front runner, then he will be attacked from all sides from the democrats and main stream media.

  • Rosco1776

Ron Paul or not at all!!

    • Ted Crawford

CUTE, but, thankfully, not going to happen!

  • http://personallibertydigest joe casa

HI you are right micheal savage, people told us the same thing that romney will lose because he ran before and lost and ron paul you know they all ran for president before.

  • William Baylor

The republican conservatives are for PRO-LIFE: A 12 year old is raped by her step dad and is pregnant to him! She has to keep the baby. This baby does not breath on its own and can not sustain life on its own, it is not born yet! The 12 year old has been violated, harmed, damaged and is a victim of rape. You and your PRO-LIFE choose to save a fetus that can’t sustain life over that of protecting the future life of a living 12 year old girl and you have elected to destroy her
future forever! Three years later the step dad gets out of jail, gets a lawyer and goes to your court system and gets the right to visit his child! The 12 year old is now 15 years old with a 3 year old baby and she has to face her rapist step-dad because of your perverted sense of justice in America! So much for religious ‘jesus freaks’! Gee, you might as well invite him in for a cup of coffee!

    • Sirian

Now just what has this got to do with what Doc Savage has said? Oh, I get it, you can’t stand Republicans, you can’t stand anyone other than Obummer and you would much prefer a socialist/communist state over what we have now. Due to this and in a furious mental fit of rage simply have to get your two cents in even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the main theme of the article. OK, feel better? Now then, go back to bed and don’t forget your teddy bear.

      • steve in AZ

        Nailed that one, Sirian. :)

DONATE NOW so we can VOTE RON PAUL 2012!!!

      • dfinch

You can be pro-life with extenuating circumstances. That is what this is. I don’t know where you came up with your story telling.

  • jopa

It has been many years since I have gone out to dinner on a weekend due to the lines, but with all the news of this dismal economy I figured I would take a chance. The first good bad sign was all the parking lots in the mega and strip malls were full. Then we pulled into the Olive Garden and we were given a buzzer for our hour and a half wait.It sure doesn’t look like any kind of depression here on the East coast. Now I will go back to my mode of accepting dinner invites mainly from Mon.-Thurs unless it’s an invite from one of the grandkids or such.

    • libertytrain

Jopa – perhaps you should try a local fine dining restaurant rather than a chain that gives out coupons – you might find a different result.

    • dfinch

I guess North Carolina didn’t get the memo. Unemployment here is 12%.

    • http://deleted Claire

jopa–If I am out during the evening, I have also noticed how busy the mall is, and all the restaurants. I have often wondered–how can all these people afford to go out and eat if the economy is so bad? Same with Christmas shopping, the traffic was appalling and the stores were doing a booming business.

  • http://gillysrooms.blogspot.com GILLYSROOMS in Australia

Savage has got it right, except he has not mentioned the the wisest man and treasure your country has in Dr Ron Paul. I’m hopeful Dr Paul to have a good crack at it, otherwise OBAMA wins by a mile.

The problem I see all the way from Australia is that you have too many Republican varietys of ‘product’ your offering and its essentially more of same as what Obama is offering despite all the posturing of being outherwise inclined.

The ONLY REAL chance you have is DR RON PAUL to go head to head with Obama administration if you really want a crack at the Presidency because in Dr Paul you have a consistant message plain an simple full of integrity and a natural wisdom and diplomacy which would normally take several lifetimes in the history of politics yo acquire you AND unless his sons have the same wisdom, you will never find it again.
DR RON PAUL IS ONCE IN A LIFETIME REAL TREASURE worth more than gold.

    • steve in AZ

Savage has mentioned Dr. Paul, however – always in a negative tone, at least. I hate to admit it, but I listen to savage way more than I wish, merely because the media is such a vacuum when it comes to anything right of moderate libs.

Savage appears to be concerned about Israel being abandoned if Dr. Paul were to be elected, perhaps because he is of Jewish descent. He makes a few good points, occasionally, when he isn’t too busy breaking his arm patting himself on the back.

Ronulans should swamp his show and convince him to stand up, support Paul and quit his whining about borders, language, and his own lack of culture.

DONATE NOW so we can VOTE RON PAUL 2012!!!

  • http://gillysrooms.blogspot.com GILLYSROOMS in Australia

DR RON PAUL needs to be seen in more debates to show listerners what a treasure you really have in the USA today. Anyone listerning and even with an once of brain would understand policies which are made to sound so complex by the other rabble.

    • Ted Crawford

Yes he’s such a treasure perhaps we might put him in a vault to protect him! It would also keep him out of the way!

      • fedup

Comrade Crawford, just because life had you stumped at the age of 3 and you can’t figure out how to fill out a job interview shouldn’t make you THAT spiteful of a true free nation. You’ve mentally trapped yourself with your own ignorance and now you think everyone should suffer like you. With Ron Paul in office, the free handouts and government cheese might stop and that TERRIFIES you. That’s why you call him a threat, because to you, he is. He’s a threat to your “sit on your ass, get something for nothing” lifestyle. There are, apparently, worse things than being Obama, Pelosi, Reid, or holder……Being YOU! Cheers,Peckerwood!;)

      • JC

        Ted Crawford says:

And make room for another Federal Reserve owned Globalist?
In what way will that be a better thing?

  • JC

Just like the 2008 election, the GOP is determioned to field a lame duck candidate and hand the election to the Kenyan. They’re all working for the UN/NWO/Banksters….save for one.

  • vic

savage is a blowhard. he hates Ron Paul because he thinks “Ron Paul hates teh military”. Ron Paul IS military! hes just not a globalist war monger who spends like an 18 yr old w/ their first credit card. The abandoning Israel lie has to stop. Israel is a sovereign nation w/ 300 nukes, the best standing army in the mid east and the best economy. if iran did indeed want to toss a nuke at them they would be forever destroyed by Israel. Not only that, arabs want Israel OUT of the Holy land, not to destroy the Holy Land. we should support Israel politically, diplomatically and share intelligence but they need to get their house in order too. They were recently caught sending missiles to CHINA! http://www.dailypaul.com/196406/israel-caught-selling-69-us-patriot-missiles-to-red-china notice none of the networks want any part of that mess! savage needs to wake up and smell what hes shoveling. Santorum is just a different kind of obumma; a war monger, a BIG govt spender, and a Patriot Act and NDAA supporter. Ron Paul in 2012!!!

  • cricket

I think Nute is the only one in the race that will stand up to Obama in a debate or in a Presidential race. I don’t know all the things Savage is upset about with Nute but he still seems like the onlky one that can win. Ron Paul is just too far out there to catch the moderate Republicans.

    • Ted Crawford

Ron Paul is an idealistic, narcissist just like Obama, except on the opposite side of the spectrum!

      • JC

Well according to the Constitution that is the basis for Ron Paul’s policies…you’re entitled to your “opinion”. ;)

  • RC, Jr.

When a candidate is attacked by both parties and the media it’s time to take an honest look at the record. Dr. Paul’s remedies may not “fit” the establishment mold but, he certainly offers solutions that merit our attention. Washington’s swamp needs serious draining and the sooner the better.

    • Ted Crawford

While I agree that a draining is sorely needed, we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater as Paul suggests!

      • JC

Is that a direct quote or just another of your personal opinions?

  • ONTIME

I think Savage is just flat wrong, the polls are showing that on a 2 to 1 count Americans fear the re-election of the Mysery Man, more independents are looking to voting Republican and even dems are either not going to vote for the idiot they put in or vote for the “R” candidate whoever that might be. Anyone of those now in the race to become POTUS on the “R” side is ten times better than this uncredentialed jerk now in the WH.

Unless the leading “R” candidate dies. contratcts laryngitis or has a fit of hysterical unabated rage during a debate the Mysery Man is going to go into the anals of history as a huge buyers remorse mistake or OMG(obama must go!).

So Mike I am glad you still make your points but on this I think your way off base….

  • http://elliesmiles@hotmail.com Country First

Let’s hope the media spin fails to sway the majority of the people in this most crucial election and we get a true conservative leader who follows the constitution. The clones must be eliminated for our nation to once again prosper.

libertytrain; My favorite restaurants have always been the local Mom and Pop diners in the area and they are also packed on the weekends in this area. The reason we went to Olive Garden was the choice of my granddaughters for her birthday.I don’t care for the menu that much in that I love beef and they have mostly pasta and chicken dishes.I do agree though and try to stay away from the chain restaurants.

    • libertytrain

me too, mom and pops kind of fun and cheaper. I was talking about the high-end restaurants – they appear to be struggling – perhaps you are in an area that doesn’t have them.

  • jopa

Many times Willard was asked whether he is for the Teaparty or not, however he always fumbled with the answer. The truth of the matter is the Mormon faith prohibits its members with their health care code to partake in the fruits of any addictive substances such as tea coffee alcohol and tobaccco. For him to support the Teaparty would make him a hypocrite.

  • home boy

so ya’ll still think man has the answers. it doesn’t matter who wins you loose. same body different face at every election.

  • http://None Frank

I would vote for Charles Manson before The Ayatollah Obama, I don’t see any shining star in the GOP crowd though. The beautiful gal from Minnesota had all the right ideas, but I’m not sure our ignorant electorate was ready to vote in a Lady president, unless it was old pool table legs Hillary Billary. What a combination then BJ Bill would be the first lady, gads what thought. I am terrified that the Ayatollah will make another term, God Bless the Republic, That would be the finishing blow. There is no other place to escape to.

  • 4204life

Michael Savage is an establishment pundit for the GOP. The majority of the status quo pundits have a principle decision to make. The enormous pressure above and the perks offered for compliance must be weighed vs. truth telling and blowback from the populace.

  • Buck

If Romney beats Obamass I am absolutely positive he won’t do it with any help from me and my friends . We have decided we are going to stick with RON PAUL through thick and thin aand if he fails to get the nomination we have decided to WRITE him in .

  • chuckb

newt gingrich is the only candidate that can repeal obamacare, he knows how congress operates and can get the job done. this should be a number one priority, if not this healthcare bill alone will destroy our medical care that we now have.
we are not only fighting the bolshevik establishment in this election we are fighting a corrupt republican party that is almost as liberal as the one in power. we need someone that has divorced himself from the republican hierarchy like newt, you saw what they did to sarah palin, they now along with the media are making sure their boy romney gets the nomination, the media wants romney because they know he can’t defeat obama.

    • meteorlady
      • chuckb

apparently newt made his money within the realms of the law, i’m sure romneys campaign would have uncovered anything unusual. i would prefer a president having the ability to make money as long as it was honest.

        • Adair

Our local Congressman was up in D.C. for 20 years, never ascending to anything more than membership in a couple of committees. Through the Congress’ being able to play the stock market on insider information, as well as being from the 2nd most corrupt/Democrat area in Illinois, he has amassed $13million to himself.

He hasn’t created any jobs … except getting his son a spot in State government, readying him to take over for Pops. He’s hardly describable as “intellectual,” and I can’t imagine any group other than his cronies wanting to sit through a speech by him. Hasn’t written any books; and his staff produces his franked “newsletters.”

Speaker Gingrich is petulant, snarky, wealthy, intellectual, talkative, interesting, overweight, self-assured, a good debater, a storehouse of ideas (sensible and questionable), probably a NWO-er as most of the Republican Establishment seems to be. Newt is more about “correcting” government instead of shrinking it. His principal fault is not that he is wealthy.

Meteorlady’s link was to an article written by someone with little love for Newt. I wonder if the author ever researched and FOUND as much info on our current President.

  • Daylo

THIS is what I have been screamin’ Romney is a weak link.

  • meteorlady

Funny I read an article in Congress.org about Gingrich and his climb to millionaire and it wasn’t pretty…. Smart man, but oh boy, a little shady in his dealings.

I still will vote for Ron Paul even if I have to write him in.

  • Frank Bates

“On time” You misquoted I believe, the words “Anals of history’ in your remark, wouldn”t “annuals of history” sound better, I mean if that is what you meant to say, you may try to go back over your words before you print it. I was not offended by the words, just trying to correct your spelling is all. Frank

    • Adair

      ANNALS of history.

      English is a confusin’ lankwich.

  • robert

It is a done deal. Obama is in for another haul. Same people that voted for him in the first election will vote for him again. Blacks, Latinos, Jews, and Liberals and Hollywood all drooling all over themselves aided by the lamestream media.

  • Art LeBeau

Savage has become discusting to listen to as he demeans Ron Paul consistently. Savage is for himself — remember how he also made fun of Sara Palin (the dance hall girl). Remember back in the last election how he hinted he was going to start another party and Savage likely to be the candidate.

I listened to Savage for years but in the last couple of years I just have to turn him off. Furtermore he will never let anyone talk but his pompous self.

  • hitthedeck

    A Mormon advantage:
The Romney attackers have did every thing possible to tear down Mitts personality and character, but no matter what they will not find anything dishonest in his past. They can look in his past and question his friends but they will never find a dishonest action or a lie that came from Mitt. Mormons have had a squeaky clean image for being honest. When Las Vegas was first established years ago the strip filled with gambling casinos and the owners would only hire Mormon dealers to handle millions of dollars of gambling proceeds that passed through their doors every day. That tradition is still in practice today but because of the growth dealers are not restricted to be Mormons. Mormons have upheld the image of honesty for years. It’s too bad we didn’t have the same policy on our congress. I would rather see a stronger personality than I see in Mitt but I am willing to support anyone that will defeat Obama and I am sure everyone that wants this country to recover from the progressive downfall of our liberties and our country. I must admit that Ron Paul sounds better and stronger every time I hear him. His foreign policy ideas are a little radical but when you think about it he might be right by bringing all our troops home and let our enemy’s fight it out among themselves. Those soldiers that come home would probably do a better service to protecting boarders. I also believe that one American live is worth more than a hundred thousand barrels of mid east oil. No American should die over mid east oil when we have a two hundred year supply under our feet. I want a leader that holds the leaders of countries personally responsible for aggressive actions against our country and not their people. A leader that says he will destroy the aggressive leaders rather than sacrificing thousands of soldiers on both sides in a prolonged war. We have seen the results after the war in Iraq! The leaders were hung for war crimes and crimes against humanity so why not convict the leaders and carry out the sentence and save tens of thousands of lives on both sides. They can not hide from our technology and superior weapons.

  • chuckb

hitthedeck, having associated with many of the mormon faith, i have found them just as dis-honest as any other person. mitt romney is a weak candidate and will not defeat barry soetoro nor will ron paul nor will santorum or rick perry, huntsman was never in the race.
newt gingrich is the only current man that will defeat barry, he is the one superior in knowledge and the ability to turn the economy around.
romney spent a lot of money getting rid of herman cain then he turned on newt, the media helped him they want the man barry can beat.the republican party is behind romney, he’s a rino just like the majority of republicans in power. nothing will change unless we vote these people out, just getting rid of barry won’t change much. the majority of liberal democrats and the rino republicans will have to go to make any real change.

    • JC

So we should ignore Newty’s track record of having ethics and morals that are “for sale to the highest bidder”?
      Not me, that’s for sure.
You’re certainly right about Libs and RINO’s though.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

Sadly, it’s a fact that Mitt-nitwit Romney isn’t much better than our current marxist-in-chief. And sadly a large % of Americans are not motivated to vote for the lesser of 2 evils; oblivious to the fact that elections have consequences. I also suggest you check out Rush Limbaugh’s website dated 12/21/11. He points out that Nitwit Romney will not even call Obama a socialist. Nitwit will call Newt zany, but will not call BHO zany. Doesn’t that sound familiar?? That is – he sounds like John McLame 4 years ago. We know how hotheaded McLame can be with conservatives, but was a complete wimp in debating BHO. So again I ask – Why can’t republicans and/or independents learn from past errors instead of repeating them over and over again?? The GOP nominated weak moderates – Ford, Dole and McCain in 1976, 1996 and 2008, respectively. They all lost to democraps!!

To the contrary, in 1980 we nominated a bold outspoken conservative – Ronald Reagan. Although not perfect, Reagan won in 2 landslides. So why not choose a Reagan like candidate this year?? Rick Santorum and Michelle Bachmann probably fit that niche, as does Herman Cain (if we can get the latter two back into the 2012 race). This year is probably the most important election in history if we are to save America. When we hear the names of the 3 morons who came out on top in New Hampshire, we should think of 3 words we recently heard from Rev. Al Sharpton ….. Resist we much!! LOL!!
