Look, people, the only way the Volt will deserve to be looked at as a concrete example of something worth buying (or driving) is when and if EVERY elected official in Washington drives one. Until that happens, the Volt is an over-priced piece of crap. It’s a union pipe dream. It’s insanity on steroids. It’s an LSD-induced bad trip. It’s apple butter that tastes like shinola.
And, it’s living proof that SOME people ARE so damned dumb that they will believe ANYTHING their political gods tell them. How many union members drive a Volt? Does Mr. Chu drive a Volt? Are people in other countries lining up to buy and drive a Volt?
I started laughing when I saw this article’s title. Show me someone who has one of these septic tank creations, and I’ll show you a dolt in a Volt [a schmuck in a puck?]. Next, I suppose we’ll see vehicles made of chocolate, edible cotton [ref. Catch-22], or pink slime so we can drive or eat the damned things. Insanity, thy name is WASHINGTON.

You are an IDIOT. I don’t like Washington either, and I am driving Volt for two years, I live in El Paso, TX , made few trips to California and back. I’m driving mostly around El Paso area about 30 m a day or less, or about 900 miles per month, I buy gasoline once a month, no more than 5 gallons as I don’t want it to get stale, some time I’m not using a gas generator at all. I use maybe 3 gal. per month if any. . You idiot figure it out, I don’t pollute the air, don’t spend $80 per week like you do on gas I don’t keep the Arabs rich, I’m buying American make car and what is more important I don’t make America oil dependant like you do. And I’m not a warmonger and that mean I save Americans lives.

The electricity that powers your car is created by burning fossil fuels.
BTW, does the Volt come with a rear rack to accomodate a pair of Golf bags?

    The video has been Obama-tized.

  • simian_pete

    I didn’t catch the video, it’s been removed !

The Chevy Volt cost to much. Most American cars cost to much !!

If President Obama and Congress had just let GM go out of business, what type of car prices would we be seeing today ?

The more affordable cars from India and CHina would have filled the market vacum. For example, the NANO car cost under $5,000 and will get you around town. It’s made by “TATA” in India….

The same car, if made by GM, would cost you over $10,000 …….

The American Voter put this Congress and President into office. I guess the voters just like paying more for cars ….

    Stupid fellow American voters !!!

Do you know how much Indian factory worker get paid?
How many Americans did buy “Yugo” remember that car? Yes it did get you around, it was $ 3000 but it was piece of crap and it did use gas. Same thing is with Nano cars. I don’t even want to bring up safety and other standard.

American labor is not chip, I’m sure you wouldn’t work at GM for $2.00 an hour. So you can’t expect American made cars to be $ 5000

And you CAN NOT compere Volt with Nano. You want to see video, google, educate yourself.

      • Michael J.

Yes, I remember the YUGO. It had a rear window defroster which doubled as a hand warmer for when you had to push it.

    • Michael J.

Yes, I have seen the Nano built in India. It comes with a dot centered at the top of the windshield.

Vladimir Lennon blamed the Russian people for the government engineered economic and environmental woes that beseiged their nation. He then convinced them to make sacrifices for the good of the collective. Sounding familiar yet?

The Green Movement is revised Socialism made pallatable to the western society way of thinking.
