Chattonooga Newspaper Editorial Snatches The Welcome Mat Out From Under Obama Jobs Visit

“Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President: Your policies have harmed Chattanooga enough.”

That was the headline that ran above a scathing editorial in Tuesday’s Chattanooga Times Free Press greeting President Barack Obama, who arrived hours later to deliver his “grand bargain” jobs proposal that would offer tax cuts to corporations and shell out more government subsidies for jobs programs.

Never mind that the proposed corporate tax cut — from 35 percent to 28 percent — far undercuts the 39.6 maximum that small business owners, the backbone of Obama’s ostensibly dear middle class, can pay under his policies.

Without waiting for the President to lay out his new ideas later in the day, the Free Press held no quarter with Obama’s past attempts at “stimulating” the economy:

President Obama,

Welcome to Chattanooga, one of hundreds of cities throughout this great nation struggling to succeed in spite of your foolish policies that limit job creation, stifle economic growth and suffocate the entrepreneurial spirit.

Forgive us if you are not greeted with the same level of Southern hospitality that our area usually bestows on its distinguished guests. You see, we understand you are in town to share your umpteenth different job creation plan during your time in office. If it works as well as your other job creation programs, then thanks, but no thanks. We’d prefer you keep it to yourself.

That’s because your jobs creation plans so far have included a ridiculous government spending spree and punitive tax increase on job creators that were passed, as well as a minimum wage increase that, thankfully, was not. Economists — and regular folks with a basic understanding of math — understand that these are three of the most damaging policies imaginable when a country is mired in unemployment and starving for job growth.

Even though 64 percent of Chattanooga respondents said they would rather you hadn’t chosen to visit our fair city, according to a survey on the Times Free Press website, it’s probably good that you’re here. It will give you an opportunity to see the failure of your most comprehensive jobs plan to date, the disastrous stimulus scheme, up close and personal.

…So excuse us, Mr. President, for our lack of enthusiasm for your new jobs program. Here in Chattanooga we’re still reeling from your old one.

Ben Bullard

Reconciling the concept of individual sovereignty with conscientious participation in the modern American political process is a continuing preoccupation for staff writer Ben Bullard. A former community newspaper writer, Bullard has closely observed the manner in which well-meaning small-town politicians and policy makers often accept, unthinkingly, their increasingly marginal role in shaping the quality of their own lives, as well as those of the people whom they serve. He argues that American public policy is plagued by inscrutable and corrupt motives on a national scale, a fundamental problem which individuals, families and communities must strive to solve. This, he argues, can be achieved only as Americans rediscover the principal role each citizen plays in enriching the welfare of our Republic.

Well, a city that has awoken to the reality of communist programs and plans to reject anymore of them. Ovomit is not intending to create jobs, that is just a scheme to placate the ignorant. He true goal is to destroy the United States of America. When enough people figure out that the democratic party is doing to the whole country what they have done to Detroit, we may just be able to survive. Right now we are financially in worse shape than Detroit as a country. That is scary to say the least. The left is only capable of lying and buying votes, most of the time illegally.

    • chocopot

Well stated. Do not be too surprised if you hear, within the next month or so, that the editor of that newspaper has had a fatal ‘accident.’

      • John

yeah, anyone who speaks out against Ovomit is put on the elimination list. Run over by a police car, accidentally shot while sleeping in bed. House burned down and no one got out (because they used knockout gas first.

        • chocopot

And he runs a poor second to the record of bodies the Clintons ran up.

Any bets that not one of the left wing media had this on any of their programs. It is as if it never existed. You would have to go to FOX news to hear about this. This nothing, wait until they get a load of Obamacare and the rest of the story. Obama’s latest way to bring us all down to the poor of the nation. All full time jobs will become part time jobs. So more people will qualify for more foodstamps and “free expletive deleted] as the professional welfare recipent likes to say. Just think. the IRS that impartial agency that treats everyone the same wil be the in the streets storm troopers who can close down a business if they think, not prove, but think that they are not going by the new rule orders. Many a business will have all of the bank accounts frozen until an investigation can be done. It could take a few years so you had better get another job, because you will be toast. Something interesting about occupied Europe. Those people had a very long memory about who was on thier side and who was against them. We’ll remember those in the press who have sided with the Socialists.

As a Tennessean, I am thankful that Chattanooga is awake and watching the antics of our Chief Dictator. If more cities would wake up and smell the Communism, then just maybe the United States will survive. Obama should be held responsible for his actions. That would include removing him from office and prosecuting him for treason. He has intentionally tried to ruin our country ever since he bought the White House. Our elected officials in the Senate have held his hand and let Obama do anything he wants. We need to vote Alexander and Corker out of office also. So far the House has somewhat kept Obama slowed on his vow to Fundamentally Ruin America. I have no respect for Obama as the president, simply because I can see what he is doing. On top of all his new restrictive laws, he has trashed our Constitution. If everyone would read the Declaration of Independence, the very reason we broke from England, it reads like todays news. We can’t allow this Tyrant to continue his schemes and continue to cause turmoil in our country. With his job creation, now he wants to add another 11 million to the roles to take our jobs. In lieu of the current unemployment situation and government subsidies being used up by illegal immigrants, all I can say is Deport Not Support. If this offends anyone, they are not Americans anyway.

“He has intentionally tried to ruin our country ever since he bought the White House.”
That was the plan all along. He was hand-picked by Soros and company, pushed into office through massive voter registration and election fraud, and is now carrying out the plan long ago formulated by the Communist – er, I mean Democratic – Party. Much worse is to come.

The editorial left out a key phrase when they said shove it. They should have added “where the sun don’t shine”.

Kodo’s to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, it is about time a newspaper finally did its job and told the TRUTH. Now lets see if the corrupt press, led by the NYT, has the courage to admit they backed a loser who has no idea of how to solve national problems. On second thought, Hell will freeze over first.

Yes Timmy , that naked man is the Emperor .

Wait and see what the mass media has to say about his visit. They will say he was welcomed like he was the savior came visiting. No president has smiled more while stabbing citizens in their backs as this poser of an American has.
Patriotic and whats his name can’t even be in the same sentence.

Wait till 2014 and see how he lies to explain the failure of the un- affordable health care and causing even higher unemployment. Whose fault will it be then? He can’t ride on his failures and lies forever. People are not as stupid or blind as he seems to think they are. When people are losing their jobs, cars and homes then watch his approval ratings tank. People are seeing his transformation is flushing this country down the crapper. He is going to create jobs? People are seeing more people than ever in history collecting welfare and being on food stamps. Never in the history of this country has unemployment been extended for such long durations. I guess the jobs he keeps talking about creating just are not there. People are realizing the lies not the jobs created.

There will be two classes in the USA. Poor or wealthy. Guess which class Obama will be in? Forget about that distributing the wealth. He thinks Michelle should be paid a salary for all she does. Holy crap she is getting paid vacations amounting to millions and she isn’t even an employee.

He thought he was smart not having the affordable health care be fully implemented till 2014 after his re election. Seems now he wants to postpone it till after the 2014 elections now. I guess it isn’t going to be that great or else he wouldn’t be afraid of how the demorats will lose because of it.

Bring on the jobs or shut up is what people are saying to him now.

  • Mark Holtz

I just sent this short letter to obummer, Mr Obama, if that is the name your going by this week. Do the people of America a favor. Shut up! We don’t want the POS ACA you and your corrupt administration are trying to shove down our throats. We don’t appreciate the crap you have written into laws as far as the patriot act. And we damn sure don’t like the lies you and your scumbag media reps are throwing around

    • Whackajig

Caps should not be used for ovomit’s name unless you really do wish to show him honor and respect. Many posters have caught on to this but some remain ignorant or they really do love him.

      • Mark Holtz

What can I say, spell check! And I didn’t see it . My bad.

    • John

Mark you are now on ovomit’s hate list. We will come to your funeral if ovomit leaves a body. probably not as he has to feed the Muslims.

      • Mark Holtz

We will either stand as one, or fall alone as fools! Are you with me?

  • Debbie

Thank you Free Press for standing up for what is right. We as a nation are afraid to say anything any more, I think we need to remember David and the giant, we read in Church. Think we need a bag of stones.

  • Alan

Good job Free Press! Its about time a city newspaper stood up to tell it like it is rather than suck up to Obama.

  • Michael Shreve

When the MEDIA rejects the Obama HYPE, one expects to see pigs flying.
