    • eyeswideopen

samurai, your hate is so strong that you immediately assume that Chabot is a dem. oops, HE IS A REPUBLICAN!! taking away your rights!

      • Jyrine

You, eyeswideshut are a progressive, (commie) shill. You are despicable! Grow and quit spreading your communist ideology around people that don’t want it.

        Semper Fi

        • eyeswideopen

Jyrine, since when does stating the facts make anyone a shrill? Facts are Facts, and sometimes the truth hurts. You can either live in ignorance or acknowledge facts, your choice.

          • http://naver samurai

I guess this means you must be living in the darkest for of ignorance. I’ll bet your progressive masters are proud of you. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • http://naver samurai

Bzzzzz wrong again eyes wide shut! I didn’t mention any political party now did I? A RINO and a progressive are about the same thing. Need to get your facts straight before you post! Reading comprehension “0″. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • Ramona Callender

who cares what party he is with for argument sake lets just say he is a politician.

The young policeman was wrong, what was he doing there to begin with? I would have asked him who was paying for his time, the tax payers or the politician? If it was the tax payers than he was being insubordinate to his bosses. Or better yet even if he was being paid for by the politician than he was still being insubordinate AS was the speaker. For we all pay his salary oh me…..

speak up people or we will loose our rights and freedoms….I would have kept my phone or gone to jail for it… way or another it would have been on national TV……

  • Vicki

We need to have a LOT more people take out their cell phones and record these people. Both the Congressmen and the police. Some people may have to go to jail but we have to re assert our first amendment right (freedom of the press).

  • Vicki

Because of cell phones and the internet Freedom of the press is no longer for those who own the presses because we all can publish our works.

  • s c

This is the second Chabot article to appear on the PLD. Because of the type of behavior involved, I have to conclude that Chabot is an anal retentive, power-mad, paranoid, closet progressive. Can someone point out any errors in my estimation? Other than an Obmama-lover, is there anyone out there who supports this useful idiot?

    • eyeswideopen

sc, only problem with your statement is that Chabot is a repub, not a progressive. Seems the repubs are against free speech as usual.

      • Jyrine

        More commie propiganda eyeswideshut.

      • s c

e, take the time to check my other comments. At no time have I looked at the moron in question as a conservative. I know he’s “passing” as a ‘Republican.’ So, other than prove that you always have one foot in your mouth (and that peanut butter between your ears has hardened) – what’s your point, bubba? Anyone who dares to whiz on the 1st Amendment is no conservative, and to assume that that geekoid is a Republican is OK. ‘Repubs’ are clueless. My point is that he’s acting like a PROGRESSIVE.
Ye gods, bubba. How well do they brainwash people at that %@$^* progressive dumbing-down institute? Once again, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

        • eyeswideopen

sc, well you certainly have alot of registered repubs who are “whizzing on the Constitution. Since they are registered as repubs what do you want to call them? They chose their political affiliation not me. Why can’t you people ever accept the fact that you have looney tunes in your party? This man was voted in by the repubs and he represents the Republicans. Simple fact. Why can’t you ever respond without being derogatory? I wasn’t nasty about your brain capacity was I? Nope. It is very sad to see the hatred you have towards other Americans.

          • http://naver samurai

No one is doing a golden flow on the Constitution more than Obama bin Laden. There are many progressives and RINOs out there, I’ll agree with you on that, but if you aren’t following and listening to Obama bin Laden, then you are just a blind person leading another blind person. Sooner or later, you’ll both end up in the ditch. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • Ramona Callender

whats with this republican Democratic BS they are all politicians….they all have their own personal agendas. especially the guy in the big house, you can look at the country now and see he is out to destroy it…….

  • Bruce

How can any of you think that everything you do is not controlled.
Its going to get far worse and very soon, BTW, it makes no differance what side of the coin you think you are Dimwit or Repwit its the same coin and the same program only >YOU< think its some how differant.
Until you grasp the fact you are allowing this type of behavior to become more extreme by your not standing up, as in both of these people should have gone to jail they have no iron in their blood, don't be wimps get your balls on. If you don't know what you stand for you stand for nothing so you are a sheep.

So again what will it take to get you out of your comfortable seat? What will it take for you to BREAK the LAW if need be, as in break the Chains of your slavery?
Why is its that both of these people could not even verbally combat the police officer?
When they come knocking at your door and load you and your loved ones in to a truck?
    Will you wake up then?
Will you have something to say then?
Will you stand your ground then?
Think that can't happen here, well think again, this time think harded, deeper, longer. Its well on its way.

    • Ramona Callender

your so right Bruce…….just stand and say enough is enough…..stand for your principals and your beliefs…..whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong……and this is so wrong…..

Man dude you have a lot of work to do, first off we don’t have a Constitution nor a Bill of Rights nor have we have not had one from 1861 to now.

This Barry blaming is going nowhere. Look here is a simple thing for all of you to better understand just Barry Soetoro / Obama or what ever his real name is.

He added the following to his name Hussein, that alone to anyone who know’s what that means gets it.
So here you go, {“All Desendants of Muhammad”} take the name, Hussein.

Now go back to 1861 find out what a “Con / Con” is as in when the Constitution and Bill of Rights were made Null & Void.

Be Mad as hell, get mad as hell, but WAKE UP.

      • BrotherPatriot

        ^^ Bingo! ^^

  • Stunned at sunset

What a country! I’ve been “instructed” by our government to live in fear of Russians and then Chinese. Later, I was “instructed” by our government to live in fear of Cubans, then of Nicaraguans. Then I was instructed to fear Mexican farm laborers. After that I was instructed to fear Muslims. Now I’m supposed to live in fear of a middle-aged housewife with a video camera!

I believe that government officials should be impeached and thrown out of office when they violate the 1st Amendment. After all, they took an oath of office to “…uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.”

The Federal Constitution is a “primary rule of recognition.” That’s legalise for saying that ALL other laws get their efficacy from this document. The “Patriot Act” cannot supersede the Federal Constitution. If a few million citizens were to get together and fund and file a Class Action Suit against the Federal Government for attempting to over-rule the Federal Constitution, the Supreme Court would uphold that suit because the Federal Constitution of the United States is a “primary rule of recognition” and cannot be abrogated by ANY law.

There, I’ve said it twice now. Please, somebody tell me I’m wrong. I’m a big boy and I can take the criticism for the sake of intellectual enlightenment.

He clearly thinks he is running his own dictatorship!! Any cop that blindly follows an order like that, when he knows what peoples rights are, should removed from his position!!Taking the common man’s right without due process and Gestopo tactics, have lead to the fall of every empire throughout history!!Their should be no compromise on this!! Public service jobs have a higher standard of responsibilty, this politician an cop are clearly NOT QUALIFIED for their postions an should be removed from power!!

    • c.w.s

I believe you’ve touched on one of the fundamental problems…. neither the police, nor the public officials actually STUDY and UNDERSTAND the document to which they swear an oath to follow and protect.

Should there be a ‘litmus test’ for public office and public service jobs? You Bet…. read the Constitution.

      • TrvlSEA

Lee, you might have something there… Anyone know how we can add the learning of the Constitution to the Police Academy?

    • just a thinker

“cop” needs a referral to OathKeepers.

I believe that they are trying to force us into armed confrontation so that they can deny us even more of our rights for our “own protection.”

      • BrotherPatriot

Obviously you dont know much about us.

Here is a link so you can continue your education.

God Bless and continue your much needed education.

  • JimH

The press was there with camera’s. What did anyone think a privatly owned camera was going to catch that the “official” press camera’s weren’t?
All this show’s is the police aren’t here to protect our rights, and are just tools for the powers that be.
One would think that a police officer is a citizen too. They may want to think about what they are told to enforce.
Heaven forbid if they don’t read a thug their Miranda rights when they arrest them, but it’s OK to trample all over law abiding citizens.

  • Michael D. Von Wert

Despite the mass hoax still being promulgated by both the mainstream media and local authorities across America, the First Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that it is not illegal for citizens to videotape police officers when they are on public duty.

“The filming of government officials while on duty is protected by the First Amendment, said the Court,” reports Daily Tech.

“The filming of government officials engaged in their duties in a public place, including police officers performing their responsibilities, fits comfortably within these principles [of protected First Amendment activity].,” said the Court. “Gathering information about government officials in a form that can readily be disseminated to others serves a cardinal First Amendment interest in protecting and promoting the free discussion of governmental affairs,” stated the ruling, adding that this has been the case all along, and that the right to film police officers is not just restricted to the press.

    • BrotherPatriot

      Excellent post, Michael!

      Ty for your work.

      God Bless.

  • JimH

I’m not sure what’s worse, the politician who doesn’t want the camera’s(I thought pol’s. liked the camera), or the police officer who was just following orders, completly ignoring the Bill of Rights.
Will he be the one when UN Billery and the Bamunist come to confiscate our firearms, knocking on or kicking in our doors?

  • John Crafton

These thugs make it up as they go along. I would want to know the statute I was violating before I surrendered my personal property to one of these asses. Intimidation only goes so far and when we stand united against it, like all bully’s, these will cower as well. Remember, our complacency gives them power…Take it back!
If and when you are confronted in a crowd by one of these thugs, stand up, turn to your neighbor and complain loudly enough to let everyone know what’s going on. Don’t tolerate it and sue the perpetrators of intimidation in the courts, on the web, and in the press.

  • sean murrey ILLInio

Our reps here are scared of us they wont have a town hall meeting.

  • lee

No use calling obama names or pretending that it is a certain party they are the same in agenda and ideals. Every thing a politition dose is wagging the dog, your watching this and they are doing that .It is all just a distraction.

  • Christin

The Police State is ALIVE and WELL… backed by your Non-Representing Representative …TAKING your rights away with every word in their throat. It doesn’t matter if there were two press cameras… they can just edit or put out sound bites and not play the whole meeting and cutting out what they don’t like. WE the People need to be the reporters and the news agency now.

I kinda hoped more people would have taken out their phones and cameras and then make a scene and go on the news to tell ALL of America their story that their 1st Amendment Rights were taken away. You guys already know they don’t want us taking pictures or filming officers while on duty… P O L I C E S T A T E….

    • BrotherPatriot

Christin your post helps me from having to make the same arguments about editing & sound bites.

Ty for your work and your SPOT ON!

      God Bless.

  • Michaelmhi

Make it a point to carry a defence devise like a stun-gun to protect yourselves when you know you are 100% in the right, then sort it out later in a court of law, just because the man wears a badge does not make him legal in his actions, you will be protecting not only your rights as a citizen but your personal belongings as well, a camera is in no way a weapon or life threatning in any way, shape, or form. BUT NEVER LET ANYONE PLACE THEIR HANDS ON YOUR PERSON OR ON YOUR PERSONAL APPENDIGE UNLESS YOU HAVE BROKEN THE LAW !, DEFEND YOURSELF

  • John M

That Cop should be fired from the police force and the two people should sue him for every thing he has or will ever have.

  • John M

They should disclose who the cop is and all his information and the people of his city should do every thing they can to have him removed and expose him as the SS,KBG type he is.

    • eyeswideopen

JohnM, did you miss the part where the police officer said “they told me it was” referring to the law? Hopefully that was an off duty police officer hired by Chabot to provide saftey and his people gave the instuctions to the officer on what was to be done if anyone tried to record the meeting. This debacle lies with the Chabot staff, not the officer. By the way, tort reform that the repubs want so badly will prevent anyone from suing for injustice. So your idea of suing maybe be mute in a couple of years, when the repubs have total control. Why would you sue the officer and not the ones who employed him?
