Political Committees Raise $242 Million So Far

The major U.S. political party committees raised more than $242 million in the first half of 2011, the Federal Election Commission said Wednesday. The amount the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee took in was a 14.4 percent increase from same period in 2009 and a 26.5 increase from 2007.
