The United States seems to be heading toward socialism. Never did I think I would be confronted with scary thoughts about actions taken by the U.S. government and its numerous agencies regarding the edicts, actions and Presidential executive orders that are impacting life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Democrats in general and President Barack Obama in particular — aided by a sycophantic and fawning news media — are ranting about Mitt Romney’s offshore accounts, portraying him as evil and greedy because he chose to “hide” his money in “secretive” Cayman Island banks.
There is no question that maintaining law and order in America’s most populace city, New York, isn’t an easy thing to do. But where is the line between necessary public safety measures and creating an openly totalitarian regime within the borders of a country founded upon the principals of personal liberty and freedom?

He later signed an executive order announcing that the Federal government would no longer use it and removed all Federal funds from the bank. This Presidential action of decentralizing economic power has never happened since and will likely never again.

Now that Obamacare is the law of the land (at least for the time being), the Federal government has for the first time acquired the authority to penalize (er… tax) the citizenry for behavior the government deems unhealthy.
