Obama To Request More Borrowing

President Barack Obama is expected to ask Congress to raise the Nation’s borrowing limit by $1.2 trillion this week, marking the third and final increase from a deal negotiated over summer. The Treasury Department says that the increase is needed because the Federal government will be within $100 billion of its current spending limit by Friday.

Congressional Royals Far Outearn Constituent Proles

Between 1984 and 2009, the median net worth of a member of the House of Representatives more than doubled from $280,000 to $725,000, adjusted for inflation in 2009 dollars and excluding home equity. During the same period, the median household income of Americans as a whole declined slightly from an already much lower $20,600 to $20,500.

A Better Idea For National Defense

Many people argue that having the lives of thousands of young adults destroyed — or lost — is the price of preserving our freedom. But in today’s corrupt, semi-socialist America, the biggest threat to our freedom comes not from abroad, but from the criminal class in Washington.

Oh No, Poor Joe!

Vice President Joe Biden has turned out to be a gaffe machine. He appears incapable of leaving his office without tripping over his own tongue. Biden suffers from the sort of verbal diarrhea which makes opposition researchers feel all warm and fuzzy.

Justice Department Strikes Down Voter ID Law

The Justice Department on Friday rejected South Carolina’s measure requiring photo identification at the polls as discriminatory against minority voters.

Report: Local Police Becoming Increasingly Militarized

Police, like those in Fargo, N.D., have bought bomb-detection robots, digital communications equipment and Kevlar helmets similar those used by soldiers in foreign wars. The onslaught of purchases for military-style equipment is being carried out with Homeland Security funds allotted since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Adams Rebukes Americans United

Americans United for Separation of Church and State likes to use costly litigation and intentional disinformation to cow school districts into abandoning the recognition of religious holidays that for 200 years were staples of American classrooms. One example is the organization’s recent complaint about the inclusion of the song, “Silent Night” in a Christmas program at G.W. Trenholm School in Alabama.

New Mexico Sheriffs Standing Tall

The folks in New Mexico’s Second District are blessed with a Constitution-supporting congressman and a number of Constitutional sheriffs backed by the militias of their counties. This is the way that local governments can push back and help the Feds live within the limitations that have been placed upon them in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

The Fast And The Spurious V: Holder's Last Stand

It should come as no surprise that last Sunday, embattled Attorney General Eric Holder told the sad remnant of the once-mighty New York Times that calls for his resignation in the wake of Operation Fast and Furious are (brace yourself) racist.

More Calls For Holder To Step Down

Representative Bobby Schilling (R-Ill.) said he “has seen enough.” Schilling is the 61st in the House of Representatives to say Attorney General Eric Holder should resign over Operation Fast and Furious. Between independent calls and a “no confidence” resolution, more than 90 lawmakers have called for Holder to step down.
