2nd Amendment Under Fire
The United States Department of the Interior has drafted new legislation that would potentially kick firearms enthusiasts off of millions of acres of public lands in order to keep them from “freaking out” urbanites who like to use the land for hiking and dog walking. The biggest impact of the laws will be to tracts of land situated in the West.
Under fire for lying to Congress about the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder revealed exactly what was behind the government’s policy that resulted in the government letting guns flow into Mexico.
According to a new poll, 47 percent of Americans say that they have a gun in their home. An earlier poll noted that support for the 2nd Amendment is also at a high. Republicans are more likely than Democrats to say they have a gun in their household: 55 percent to 40 percent.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia last week struck down a challenge to Washington, D.C.’s onerous registration requirements and outright ban on so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines.
