A prosecutor in the Florida case against the neighborhood watch volunteer accused of killing Trayvon Martin said it may be tough to get a conviction. State Attorney Angela Corey, the lead prosecutor in the case against George Zimmerman, pointed to Florida’s “stand-your-ground law,” which allows a person to use deadly force if attacked.

Kelly is working with the Pentagon to deploy Terahertz Imagining Detection (TID) scanners throughout the city. TID scanners measure radiation energy emitted from a person’s body and can detect when the radiation is being blocked. Hence, it would spot a concealed weapon.

Sarah McKinley, feared for her life and that of her 3-month-old son when she shot 29-year-old Justin Shane Martin to death as he and an accomplice tried to break into her home, allegedly in search of drugs. McKinley asked a 911 dispatcher for permission to shoot the intruder.
According to the FBI, more than 1.5 million background check requests were made to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System by gun dealers in the month of December. About 500,000 of those requests came in the six days before Christmas.
