Cairo Arab League Office Hit By Firebombs

CAIRO, Aug. 4 (UPI) — Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Arab League building in Cairo Thursday, security officials said.

Police said one firebomb was thrown at the building and a second one was tossed at security personnel who were extinguishing the fire, Egypt’s publicly funded news agency MENA reported.

No injuries or damage to the building was reported, the security official said. The fire from the Molotov cocktails was doused, he added.

Police were searching for the attacker or attackers.

MENA said Libyans, Yemenis and Syrians in Cairo have protested in front of the league’s building, calling on the Arab League to intervene to end the violence against citizens in their home countries.
