Browns Fan Takes Machete To Team Flag

CLEVELAND (UPI) — A fan who posted a YouTube video of himself using a machete to chop up a Cleveland Browns flag is among many who say they are fed up with the team’s management.

The fans say they are upset at the Browns’ inability to make a deal for the right to draft Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III, of Baylor, Ohio, WJW-TV, Cleveland, reported Monday.

Griffin is expected to be drafted by the Washington Redskins.

who traded draft picks to be in a position to get him, observers said.

“This flag used to be proud of here in Northeast Ohio, now look at it. I’m done! I’m done with the Cleveland Browns!” one fan shouted while chopping up a Browns flag with a machete in a video posted to YouTube.

The fan’s sentiment was echoed by many others.

“I just think the Browns have poor management, and it’s just a continual pattern we see year after year. Every three years we get a new coach; I just think it’s time that we fix the management before we fix the team,” fan Anthony Zavodnik said. “I mean, there are people that makes things happen, and people who sit back and wait and watch things happen, and that’s what the Browns have continually done.”

Some fans defended team officials for refusing to pay the high cost of Griffin’s draft rights.
