Berlusconi Ally Faces Charges

MILAN, Italy, Aug. 25 (UPI) — A dental hygienist turned legislator in the Italian state of Lombardy faces charges of arranging for women to keep Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi company.
A court in Milan will decide in October whether there is enough evidence to bring Nicole Minetti to trial, The Washington Post reports. The hearing will be another reminder for Italians of the 74-year-old Berlusconi’s hard-partying lifestyle and penchant for attractive women born decades after he was.
Minetti’s office decor includes a photograph showing her with Berlusconi — not unusual for a young politician with a powerful mentor. But in her photo, she has a bare arm around his shoulders, the Post said.
But she wants to change her image.
“It’s not that people know you because you are a famous actress or a famous model; or a famous politician,” Minetti said. “What I would love to do is try and change this. One of the things that Berlusconi really believes in is that from a big bad thing can come about a big good thing.”
