CANTON, Ohio, Nov. 15 (UPI) — An Ohio barber who runs his shop out of the rented building that doubles as his home said he has changed his prices to allow customers to make offers.
Gregory Burnett, who opened his single-chair Old School Barber Shop in Canton two years ago, said business has been slowing down and he has gone from charging $12 per cut to accepting as little as $5 as a way to draw in customers hurting for cash, The Canton Repository reported Monday.
“I’m offering something that helps me and the community,” he said.
Burnett, who works 7 days a week, said the “Old School” in the name of his barber shop refers to his belief that hard work will yield success.
“Old school is making something out of nothing,” Burnett said.
