Rand Paul is a kook. He’s a whacko. He’s a racist. He’s so far right he’s gone to the left.
Those are just a few of the pejoratives thrown at Paul, the Republican nominee for Senator in Kentucky. Expect more to come.
Paul took his liberty-loving message to the voters in Kentucky and beat back the Republican establishment. Mitch McConnell, Dick Cheney; say hello to Rand and the face of the new conservatism and the Tea Party. Say goodbye to party hacks and insiders like Trey Grayson.
That’s Paul’s message. “I have a message from the Tea Party,” he said on election night. “We’ve come to take our country back.”
And for that he’s greeted with some of the same slurs directed at Tea Party members: whacky, kooky, racist. The establishment elites have little else in their arsenal.
On Fox News’ Special Report, contributor and National Public Radio correspondent Mara Liason could scarcely hide her disdain for Paul the day after his primary victory.
He’s “too far to the right. Too whacky. He’s so far to the right that Mitch McConnell couldn’t,” Liason said, before the neocon Tucker Carlson interrupted with a “Come on…”
But Liason wasn’t finished. “He’s against the patriot act, against the war in Iraq and wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve. He’s so far right he’s coming around to the left. Okay, he’s a Libertarian whacko, not a right wing whacko.” she continued.
Heaven forfend. Oppose the USA PATRIOT Act? Oppose the war in Iraq? Want to end the Federal Reserve? Whacky!
The media also tried to smear him with the tried and true “he’s a racist” charge, both before and after the election. It started with a Kentucky newspaper’s editorial board hitting him with what it thought was a “gotcha” question about the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
“Do you support the Civil Rights Act?” the board asked. Certainly they asked the same question of the other candidates, since civil rights is such a hot topic these days.
Paul gave a very reasoned response, especially considering the act was passed when Paul was still learning to walk and, as far as I can remember, has not been under threat of repeal in the 46 years since.
He’s against institutional racism, he said. He’s against the Federal government discriminating on the basis of race—or for any other reason—and he’s against entities that are public (take Federal funds) discriminating. He wouldn’t belong to a club or organization that discriminated. He wouldn’t patronize a business that discriminated. But he did not think the Federal government should tell a private business how to operate. That’s an option best left to the individual running the business… or to local or state government to deal with.
Kooky! So the paper branded him a racist.
On MSNBC Rachel Maddow continued to hammer Paul on the racism charge. Again, in a reasoned and calm voice he said that he opposed institutional racism but didn’t believe the Federal government should intrude on private business. So, there was one provision out of the 10 in the Act that he would have liked to have had a discussion on—if he was capable of having a discussion on the act in 1964… when he was 1 year old.
Of course, it’s all a red herring, as Paul told Maddow during her interview.
Maddow couldn’t care one whit whether Paul supported the Civil Rights Act, and if he had done back flips in saying he was for it before he was against it, Maddow wouldn’t have cared. That’s because she thought she had her hooks in Paul and that she could land him and gut him like a fish.
Because that’s what the establishment elites want to do with anyone who threatens the status quo. That’s Rand Paul, his father Ron and all of you who consider yourself Tea Party members. If you rock the boat they’re going to try and gut you. That’s why, Tea Party members and Paul—Rand and Ron—supporters, they’re going to do everything they can to demean and dispirit you and try to make you feel like you’re a nut for cherishing liberty.
And the more you rock the more determined they are to get out the gutting knife. And the attacks don’t just come from the left. Michael Steele, the clown running the Republican’s dysfunctional circus, said he’s “not comfortable” with Paul’s position which is “misplaced in these times.”
Steele cautioned that Paul would have to “temper his views” to be accepted by the party. Several establishment Republicans—fascists all—echoed Steele’s remarks. I doubt Paul cares whether the party establishment invites him to their social events or even “accepts” him. Obviously his father doesn’t.
Of course it was Steele’s underlings who were caught spending Republican Party money—that is donated money from party supporters—on strip joints and fetish clubs. And it was Steele and his ilk that got behind losers like Grayson, Utah Senator Robert Bennett (knocked off in a primary) and Florida Governor Charlie Crist (left Republican Party after trailing Tea Party favorite Marco Rubio). And it was Steele who has been slammed for his lavish spending practices since being elected chairman of the Republican National Committee.
And it’s the majority of that same party that helped pass the USA PATRIOT Act and economy-wrecking “stimulus bills” and has only reluctantly—under pressure from Tea Party activists—offered even nominal support to Representative Ron Paul’s (R-Texas) bill to audit the Fed.
So, oppose the USA PATRIOT Act—which effectively voids the 4th Amendment and gives Federal agents and police officers the authority to write their own search warrants and snoop on private conversations, which makes almost any crime an act of terrorism and restricts or denies Americans due process—and you’re a kook.
Oppose an undeclared war against a country that had not attacked United States interests and that was contained under United Nations sanctions and you’re whacky.
Oppose the Federal Reserve, a private entity owned by an unaccountable secret cabal that steals the wealth of Americans, creates fiat money willy-nilly, leads the nation into depression and makes wars on foreign soil possible—well that’s really whacky.
Believe the Federal government is intrusive when it sticks its nose into the operation of a private business, thereby denying freedom of association, and you’re racist.
Oppose government bailouts of private corporations and try to reign in an out-of-control Congress—well, there are just no words to describe the kooky, whacky, racism in that idea.
That’s rocking the boat and spoiling the party of the fascists in power. That’s why, Tea Party members and liberty lovers, you and Rand Paul are the establishment elite’s public enemy No. 1.
After all, to the establishment, loving freedom and the republic established by our wise Founding Fathers and outlined in the Constitution is just plain whacky!
“There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the cause of happening.” —Dorothy Thompson
There is absolutely no need for military conquest. Changing human liberty to fascism is done gradually… even if it takes 100 years. Here’s how:
- Change the monetary system to fiat, i.e., paper money.
- Transfer wealth with fiat to the State via inflation and depreciation of the currency. Have a graduated income tax.
- Create wars.
- Keep race stirred up with class warfare.
- Destroy the family—put the wife to work.
- Promote homosexuality. Glorify it.
- Create government schools under the name of free public education. Dumb the people down so they can’t think.
- Unisex and/or transgender.
- Promote “brotherly love”—altruism.
- Denigrate women.
- Glorify sex, promote perversion.
- Hold and maintain all the historic freedom-sounding names like constitution, privacy rights, private property, American flag, voting rights, democracy, elected representatives, free press, etc.
- Use very elite and refined propaganda to sway the public on all issues.
- Keep the public ignorant on gold (real money). Erase it from memory.
- Gun control through gradualism. Cultivate the public to fear guns by promoting the idea that guns are dangerous. Inflate gun accidents and gun incidents on nationwide media. Sensationalize the negative.
- Keep the trusted gang in power no matter who is president.
- Manipulate government statistics.
- Promote peace and manufacture arms for export. Be the world’s number one arms manufacturer.
- Harass people with “foreign bank accounts” while having the largest tax haven in the world with and through U.S. banks within the U.S.
- Enslave the world with fiat called euphemistically a reserve currency. Don’t allow the gold standard anywhere in the world.
- Call it private property but have perpetual and increasing property taxes.
- Confuse the terms liberal, conservative, socialist, communist, fascist, democrat, republican.
One Of The Greatest Deceptions
Persuade the public that there is a “national debt” and “deficit spending.” This ruse implies legitimate accounting. The public must not know and must never know that a fiat system implies default from its inception. How, my friends, can there be debt when everybody knows that fiat is created to infinity at no cost?
The bank “loans” you “borrowed” money on your home and calls it your debt, but is it? The bank just created the fiat. It cost the bank nothing, but the bank calls it your debt or your mortgage and you believe that you have debt. The bank invests in you without risk. If you are unable to pay your mortgage the bank forecloses. It has taken from you what is yours under the guise of you having defaulted on the loan without putting a dime of its own money at risk. Is this economic slavery? This is our system.
Finally, Purposefully Keep The Populace Unhealthy
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), an arm of the Federal government, has long sought to deny you the information you need to stay healthy and control what you eat.
In 2006, the FDA declared war on cherry producers and threatened them with legal action over claims that the antioxidants and anthocyanins in cherries provided healthful benefits. This despite the fact that another arm of the government, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), had produced studies showing cherries contained antioxidants and anthocyanins, and there is medical proof they are beneficial in protecting against the onset of cancer, as pain relievers and to help ease the symptoms of gout and arthritis.
Now the FDA is doing the same thing to walnut growers. Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help to lower cholesterol, protect against heart disease, stroke and some cancers, ease arthritis and other inflammatory diseases and fight depression and other mental illnesses.
The FDA has decided that cherries and walnuts are drugs that must be regulated. In its letter to walnut distributor Diamond Foods, Inc., the FDA wrote: “[b]ecause of these intended uses, your walnut products are drugs… they are not generally recognized as safe and effective for the above referenced conditions.” It goes on to say that, “they may not be legally marketed with the above claims in the United States without an approved new drug application.”
Yet Frito-Lay is allowed to make all kinds of ridiculous claims about the “heart-healthy” benefits of its processed snack foods. (naturalnews.com)
The FDA is at war with healthful, organic and beneficial natural foods and has no interest in keeping you healthy.
Cody Lundin wants you to be prepared, not scared. It’s with that philosophy that he wrote When All Breaks Loose (Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes), and it’s why this is not your typical survival manual.
Lundin is the founder of the Aboriginal Living Skills School, an adjunct faculty member of Yavapai College and a faculty member at the Ecosa Institute, a frequent guest on television programs and the go-to guy as a survival expert. He teaches the things he has lived.
Whether you think your crisis will come as a result of a natural disaster, collapse of the government or something else, Lundin wants you to be prepared. And with this book he prepares you for survival in both an urban and rural setting.
This is not the type of book that you can leave on your shelf until disaster strikes. To be useful, it must be read beforehand. Because in it, Lundin covers every aspect of a survival scenario from mental or psychological preparedness to storing food and water to obtaining shelter to bugging out if necessary.
And the methods he teaches are tried and true. They are methods he developed himself after living in a Spartan-like manner in extreme conditions.
Of course he covers all the obvious survival subjects like food and water storage, water purification, shelter, emergency lighting, first aid and food preparation. But he delves deeper and gives you many real-life tips and suggestions you don’t get anywhere else.
By the same token, he doesn’t spend too much time covering some of the basics such as what foods to store, how much and how to store it. What he does do is introduce a new perspective on eating for survival and shedding the taboos that make you avoid certain foods that can keep you alive (including providing a couple of recipes for rat).
What Lundin accomplishes with this book is to prepare the reader for a long-term survival scenario. And he does it with humor and helpful cartoon characters interspersed throughout the book that provide you with what you need to stay alive when times get really tough.
When All Breaks Loose is an excellent survival manual and great companion book to Lundin’s 98.6 Degrees: The Art Of Keeping Your Ass Alive.
Prostate cancer kills many more men than it should. Like lemmings to the sea, men by the millions line up for prostate specific antigen (PSA) tests and biopsies because this is what doctors tell them to do.
Most men who skip prostate treatment altogether live to a ripe old age and eventually die of something else.
Remember men that the purpose of PSA tests and biopsies is to channel you into surgery and drugs. When the doctor says “we need to test,” he is selling you to support the medical system. We would be a lot richer and live a lot longer if we had good healthy skepticism. Just ask questions.
Men, you need fatty acids as in Cataplex F for your prostate. Cataplex F will also stop leg cramps within a few minutes. I also take Pros-Food™ from Health Resources™.
What will the value-added tax (VAT) mean to seniors on fixed income?
A: The cost of everything you buy will go up, meaning you will have to stretch your income further to make ends meet. The VAT will be a drag on the economy and will affect everyone, particularly people with low or fixed incomes.
Today is the day we salute the veterans who laid their lives on the line and gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country—our country: The United States of America.
Memorial Day actually began in May, 1865, when newly freed slaves in Charleston, S.C., exhumed the bodies of Union soldiers from a mass grave at the Washington Race Course (today the location of Hampton Park) and gave them individual graves.
The following year, and each year thereafter on May 5, a Decoration Day observance was held in Waterloo, N.Y. To commemorate the occasion the graves of fallen soldiers were decorated with flags and flowers in cities and towns and battlefield graveyards across the nation.
In 1882 the alternative name of Memorial Day was used, though it did not become commonly used until Federal law declared the day in 1967. In 1968 the Uniform Holidays Bill set the date as the last Monday in May rather than the more traditional day of celebration, May 30.
Personal Liberty Digest is a site that promotes discussion from all sides of the spectrum on a variety of topics. Unfortunately, some of the discussions devolve from rational debate to name-calling exercises in futility.
Let’s set aside our partisan ideas and ideologies today and recognize those who have sacrificed for us. Remember too, their families, who gave their loved ones on the altar of freedom.
And don’t forget that we currently have members of our military fighting shooting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, patrolling the seas, standing at attention on the Korean Peninsula, guarding our Southern border and battling an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. There are others at bases around the world representing America’s interests.
Regardless of whether you support the wars in those places, the wars fought previously or the policies that require us to have troops stationed around the world, we must leave politics aside this day and remember those who chose to go where their Commander-In-Chief sent them, and who did all they could to see the mission through.
Many Americans receive the day off, and it’s not unusual for them to spend the day at picnics, barbecues, the lake or beach. As you enjoy this holiday, don’t forget the reason behind it.
Remember those who fell on the battlefields at Lexington, Concord and Valley Forge; at Ft. Meigs, Ft. George and Baltimore; at El Paso, Cerra Gordo and Mexico City; at Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg and the Wilderness; at San Juan Hill, Santiago de Cuba and Silva Heights; at Rheims, the Marne and Argonne; at Pearl Harbor, North Africa, Normandy, Guadalcanal, Ardennes and Midway; at Inchon, Chosin and Seoul; at Saigon, Hue, Hamburger Hill and An Loc; at Kuwait City, and Southern Iraq; at Mazar-e-sharif, southeastern Afghanistan, Qandahar, Marjah and Pashmul; at Nasiriya, Baghdad and Al-Anbar; and all the battlefields in between.
Thank You to those who gave it all. And to all veterans who have served or are currently serving, Thank You and God Bless!
A disturbing spectacle was on display last week as Mexican President Felipe Calderon and President Barack Obama—standing almost hand-in-hand on the White House lawn—trashed the state of Arizona over its new immigration law. Calderon then took it a step further by going onto the floor of Congress and trashing Arizona and Arizonians some more.
During the White House meeting, Obama told Calderon, “In the 21st Century we are defined not by our borders, but by our bonds.” He also agreed with Calderon’s description that Arizona’s law is discriminatory.
We’ve come to expect such treachery from the White House, which prides itself in traveling around the world bowing and scraping and accusing the United States of a multitude of sins—both real and imagined—and apologizing for every national and foreign policy decision the country has ever made.
(See Deputy Secretary of State Michael Posner’s admission that during a recent trip to China he brought up the Arizona law “early and often” as an issue of “discrimination or potential discrimination.” Again, he did this in China, a country that runs over its citizens with tanks, throws them in prison for practicing “unapproved” Christianity, and forces families to abort children to enforce a one-child policy.)
But then Calderon went into the halls of Congress—as an invited guest—and trashed Arizona some more saying the bill “introduces a terrible idea that uses racial profiling as a basis for law enforcement.” And for that Democrats in Congress gave him a standing ovation.
Never mind that the law does no such thing. In fact, it forbids discrimination and follows Federal immigration laws almost to the letter.
The Democrat Party continues to find new lows to fall to in its treatment of Americans—ramming through healthcare legislation over the objections of the majority, siding with enemies of Democracy and joining with the president of a failed nation to vilify a state that was forced to enforce laws the Federal government refused to enforce.
George Washington once wrote:
“We are either a United people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all matters of general concern act as a nation, which have national objects to promote, and a national character to support. If we are not, let us no longer act a farce by pretending to it.”
More and more it seems Obama and the Democrats have decided upon the latter. And more and more the spinelessness of Republicans is on display as they fail in their duty to forcefully call out Obama and the Democrats.
Obviously the elites of the two parties have become peas in the same pod and they have chosen a path in opposition to the very people they supposedly serve. That they would side with the Mexican president over the citizens of Arizona—and about 70 percent of Americans—is despicable.
It could be caused by thick or sludged blood due to dehydration. If the blood is thick or sludging, high blood pressure follows. Water thins the blood and lowers high blood pressure. Drink more water.
