As Conservatives Launch Ads In Support Of O’Donnell, Her Poll Numbers Are Inching Up

October 4, 2010 by

As conservatives launch ads in support of O'Donnell, her poll numbers are inching upChristine O'Donnell, the Tea Party-backed Senate candidate in Delaware, has been under intense media scrutiny and suffered heavy criticism for her socially conservative views. In order to boost her chances in November, one organization has launched an ad campaign that blasts her Democratic opponent's record.

The First Amendment Alliance (FAA) has set out to highlight some of Chris Coons' decisions during his tenure as county executive. They included three property tax increases and his support for the $787 billion dollar stimulus package.

"[We are] fully committed to showing the stark contrast between Coons, the big government deficit spender and O'Donnell, who opposes government bailouts, Obamacare and the bankrupting of our nation," said Anthony Holm, president of the FAA.

The organization also stressed that its initiative is "the first clear signal" that the conservative movement will unite behind O'Donnell, despite the GOP's initially lukewarm acceptance of her primary victory.

Meanwhile, recent polls suggest the gap between the two candidates may be narrowing. Just 10 days ago, some surveys put Coons at 54 percent to O'Donnell's 39 percent. However, according to the new Rasmussen poll, the Tea Party-backed candidate is now earning 40 percent of the likely vote, while Coons' support has dropped to 49 percent.

I hope this nut-job wins; maybe it’ll teach voters a few lessons if a few totally insane people like O’Connell and Angle actually make it to the Senate or the House and start screwing around (even more than usual) with serious business that could cost some people their livelihoods and their freedom.

    • http://GOGGLE vaksal

SERIOUS business? talk about monkeys, that clown in office, coons has dropped the ball so many times on key issues, look at the state of this nation, bankrupt, and even if these so called nut jobs, did a 10 percent job of doing their elected job,at least the american voters would have say in what they do while conducting their duties and that is making sure that is not against what the dumb voters what,as said by the left wing nut jobs that pushed for those bailouts,by the way who gets stuck with the bill? we all do the whole nation, while all the crooks get millions (WALL STREET)and those few who sold out the american voters, and that was (COONS)one of the enlightened ones that voted to bank roll these thieves, livelihoods, best look around lot of people are getting hammered by the way the economy is right now, because look at the worth of the dollar(WORTHLESS PAPER)and wheres the jobs to back it,OH i forget the dummies running the greatess yard sale in world history, sold it for a penny, and its name is (NAFTA)and a dumocrat got it pushed through in the last days of him being president,(CLINTON),WOW WHAT A DEAL,thanks democratic party for all the great days we the american people have had since, and last but not least, this is to the self serving RINOS that voted for (NAFTA) you dropped the ball big time, guess what?pay day is here.the pink slips are coming, from a tea party supporter, you are going to join the ranks of the unemployed hopefully this election.

      • THINK ABOUT

NAFTA was the workings of Phil Gramm, it was signed by Clinton but the Republicans was the strong arm behind it. Talk about a nut job, Bush has top claim on that position. A few more candidates like we have running now will make Bush look very smart.

Yeah, one of them is in the Presidency now and another is Speaker of the House.

I think I’ll take my chances with someone looking for bill voting guidance from their Ouija board (50/50 chance of “yes” or “no”) vs. the guy taking orders based on “Black Liberation Theology” Bible scripture.

Anyone is better than a moron that buys into liberalism, socialism or communism. All are proven failures.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

CGB… Honestly… could she be any worse than those who are in Washington now? I doubt it! We have a ‘leader’ and I use the term loosely, who was elected without any experience to run our country and military. Those who have been there for years are no longer listening to the American public, and many of them are only there for what they can get for themselves. We need new people and we need to get rid of those who no longer represent us.

      • CGB

We agree on at least one thing: booting out politicians that aren’t serving the public good, that aren’t doing their jobs. I’m all for holding public servants accountable. What I object to is the assumption that electing people who have dubious resumes, no notable public service, NGO, charitable, or gov’t experience, people that have made HIGHLY controversial (some might say wacko) claims in public that cannot be backed up with evidence, or who simply say “elect me so that we can clean up the beltway” will in any way, shape or form be any different! That’s the same line they’ve all used throughout political history!! Why are these candidates to be trusted more? I see the comments about Barney Frank and Russ Feingold, and I can’t envision more hard-working, honest and committed reps than these two, just take a look at what they’ve done for their districts over their tenure… but people can’t look beyond Frank’s sexual orientation or either of their political ideologies to realize that they’ve done a great job.

        • http://naver samurai

Then you must highly object to Obama bin Laden being in office.

          • CGB

            Marvin,

You’re just another poor sap who’s echoing Glenn Beck word for word without having an ounce of proof for any of your allegations. “whose mother is a hoe”…prove it! Show me how many men she slept with. “who isn’t a citizen”, again… the birthers have been trying to prove since he got elected that he’s not American, but no proof has been found. “hasn’t accomplished anything”… yes, well, we know how many posters on here have graduated from an Ivy League law school and been an editor for the Harvard Law Review. I haven’t got an inferiority complex, so I’m quite content to have a President in office who has got more higher education than I do.

    • James

CGB, could you be more specific? What does Ms. O’Donnell stand for that you disagree with?

      • CGB

Oh, let’s see: she doesn’t support women’s right to choose, even in extreme cases like rape and incest; opposes public-option health care, after the cost and the fight to finally get people who had no coverage insured (her website says she wants ‘more choice’ for families’ health plans…well how is eliminating a public option giving poor families MORE choice? it’s taking away their ONLY choice; anti-gay-marriage (I’m not gay, and I’m not married, but what the hell should it matter to me if two men or two women choose to marry? it has no impact on my life at all); she’s pro-death-penalty; she’s told teenagers that masturbation is a ‘sin’, which is just going to encourage them to go out and have sex with a partner and possibly contract an STD or get pregnant..what form of sexual pleasure is SAFER than masturbation, and yet she’s discouraging people for no good reason…there’s no medical evidence to support ‘going blind’ or killing sperm cells, it’s all superstitious nonsense; opposes public education; and will not vote for stricter gun laws.

Now, having said all that, I’m not opposed in principle to most of her economic policies, with the exception of the need for investing in new and cleaner energy sources (she wants the traditional oil/gas) and the market-based approach to health insurance. I don’t believe our children should be burdened with excessive debt, I don’t like gov’t corruption, and I don’t believe in taxing the middle classes to debt. The Dems recently scrapped a proposal for tax cuts due to no Republican support only because it didn’t include a cut to the wealthiest 2% of the population! Who isn’t FOR THAT? Other than the wealthiest 2% of the population? But 2% of the country still only get one vote each. The Repubs are far more beholden to the wealthiest sectors of society than the Dems, that much is certain.

I simply won’t vote for ‘common-sense’ economic policies if at the same time it means throwing all common sense out the window when it comes to social issues. If the Tea Party/Republican right-wing is truly interested in maximizing our freedom, then they won’t focus only on economic freedom but on all our freedoms which include my kids and my rights to be educated at a traditional publicly funded school and state college, to be safe from stray bullet fire due to irresponsible weapons policies, to be able to marry whom, where and when we want and to sleep with whom, where when we want…it’s a simple policy: live and let live. Don’t tell me I’m going to hell if I choose to masturbate… just don’t masturbate yourself if that’s what you believe! Don’t tell me that my agnostic daughter must bow her head at the beginning of each school day in a prayer that represents a worldview that in her eyes is outdated and superstitious.. if your kid believes that kind of thing, there are schools specifically run by religious faiths where they can opt to go. In a nutshell (sorry for the long response, but I want to be entirely clear) I’m not interested in a candidate who wants me to be free from taxation and free to run a business that doesn’t have to abide by civil rights laws, yet atheists aren’t free (because they’re wrong), homosexuals aren’t free (because they’re wrong), and murderers don’t deserve to live because they took a life and in a remote country 2,000 years ago it was said ‘eye for an eye’.

James, if you were to run in 2012 and had the guts to run on a fiscally conservative platform but saw the light about social issues and that you can never dictate to people that they MUST live according to your tenets, or suffer the consequences, I’d have the guts to give it a try and vote for you and work on your campaign. Right now, I can’t think of a single fiscally conservative candidate who doesn’t also come with the “You shan’t do this, you shan’t do that…or it’s hellfire and brimstone, and god knows what other nonsense these faux-priests throw at people” along with it. It’s just too much.

I hope this is a satisfactory answer to your question.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          CGB,
you say the health care bill insures more people??? What about Micky Ds statement that if they enforce the bill as read, they will drop all coverage for 25,000 employees?? what about the 25% of the physicians that have stated they will retire or just go to another country to practice??? you think THAT will cover more people? Know why we have good hospitals? Because they aren’t spaced too far apart! there’s good Drs in every town city or township! there are MRIs and CT scans in almost every one as well. Labs are as close as your nearest hospital or in a lot of cases your Drs office! enforce this bill AND put a public option on it as well and these services will cut back greatly!!! Get a CLUE!!

          • CGB

Micky D’s is a great exemplar of health concerns, seeing as they’ve been poisoning our kids for the past 40 years with Happy Meals that have the fat content equivalent to 7 slices of wedding cake a day. Frankly, that’s a motivating factor for enforcing the bill and adding the option, especially considering of the 25,000 employees you mention, there are some 120,000 more (everyone but the full-time managerial staff at each McD’s outlet) who don’t get ANY medical insurance because they’re part time, and only earning minimum or slightly higher than min wage, not enough to come even close to affording their own private plan. Have you ever bothered to question WHY 25 % of physicians would leave if it went thru? They’d still get paid. Their patients that would be on private and corporate health plans would still pay out whatever rates they’ve been paying out; sure, they’d get paid LESS when a patient on a public option plan visited, but they’d still get paid! All they’d have to do is say “sorry, not taking any new patients…I’m full”..and nothing would change! If they’re all such greedy bastards, maybe you’d be better off without them. I have a cousin in Canada who goes to the doctor often for rheumatoid arthritis.. her GP gets paid a MINIMUM of 100.00 per 8 minute consultation VIA the provincial health coverage, if she writes a prescription, orders tests or xrays, does any minor elective procedures in the office, the doctor gets even more. Would you rather wait a week for a CT scan, or trust a physician who is so beholden to private insurance that he values the patient with private coverage more than the one on public?? I’d much prefer the former, considering there aren’t many conditions where a CT scan within 24 hours or within a week would make the difference between my living and dying.

Once again, you’ve demonstrated that the response to powerful interest groups like McDonald’s and physicians who don’t take the Hippocratic oath seriously is to fear their power! As soon as they threaten the populace with knee-jerk reactions to progressive policy change because it places THEIR profits and THEIR lifestyles in jeopardy, not OURS, you race out to vote for the first candidate that wants to appease them. That’s not change. That’s cow-towing to power, FIGHT BACK! Let them take their toys and run… we’ll see how many doctors who are opposed to the public option cut and run to Cambodia or Latvia when the time actually arrives. And if McD’s spontaneously combusted around the globe, it would be reason for celebration. I’d propose a new national holiday on the day. They were a remarkably successful enterprise, just like the biggest tobacco companies, but with the new information about healthy lifestyles, they are costing us not only our lives today, they are costing us big money… imagine the burden taken off the health care system if people no longer scarfed down big-macs and hot dogs on a daily basis. (I’m not saying a frank at the ball park once in a blue moon will kill you.. everything in moderation).

Rob, still getting drunk on the kool aid I see. Soon, many more abortions will be restricted in this country. Thank God! HR 634 The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act stands a good chance of being passed. This will make it a federal offense and up to a year in jail for any adult who transports a minor across state lines to have an abortion. This bill would also punish doctors who didn’t seek their parent’s permission to do this immoral act. Also, HR5939 which, if passed, would ban federal funded abortions forever. These days the congress has to vote every year to keep federal money out of the abortion process, but this would eliminate that by making it permanent.
Sorry Rob, but it looks like you libs are starting to lose on all fronts. Just go ahead and surrender now and everything will be fine. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

BTW, I hear there is a rush on oven mits for the extreme right. Apparently Rush Limbaugh was ahead of his time when he sold mink mits. But now, after eight years of Bush all anyone can afford are sold in grocery stores.

          Rob

        • James

CGB, Thank you! If Ms. O’Donnell “opposes public-option health care,” she is opposing socialism (Gov’t control). I should think that that is a point in her favor. The federal government is supposed to be one of limited powers. As to getting “people who had no coverage insured,” it is this part of the Health Care Act that is unconstitutional. Congress has no power to make people buy insurance, and this is now being contested in court.
As to same-sex marriages, this is condemned by biblical law (Lev. 18:22 & 20:13). I realize that since the High Court decision (Lawrence v. Texas [2003]) such conduct is now constitutional, but for Christians that still doesn’t make it acceptable. As to “going to hell” for masturbating, no one goes there – for any reason. In the Old Testament the Hebrew “sheol” occurs 65 times. In 2 places it was translated “the pit,” in 31 places it was translated as “the grave,” and in 31 places as “hell.” “Hell is an invention of priests and pastors. Psalm 146:4, concerning death, reads: “His breath goeth forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” And they remain there until their resurrection, which is yet future.

          • CGB

Yes, but I *don’t* recognize Biblical law as superior to constitutional James. I recognize the Supreme Court as the highest authority. No one will force those of you who are Christians and who adhere to Biblical law to get an abortion. We just ask that you leave those of us who don’t follow those rules to have the choice to do so. I am all for making abortion a last-gasp choice, except in extreme cases like rape and incest, and I would always ask people considering an abortion to consider adoption, raising the child with the help of family and friends, promoting awareness of birth control methods, long before I would advocate abortion as the only acceptable alternative. (That is to say, I’m not *pro*-abortion, and I don’t know of any sane person who is).

          • CGB

Oh, and James one other correction to your post: no one is being ‘forced’ to buy health care. For those Americans who didn’t have health care, they are being provided it at no cost through revenue sharing called taxation. If someone truly doesn’t want free health care, I suppose a provision could be added to allow the stupid to deny themselves it. But less than 1% of the population would do such a silly thing.

        • James

CGB, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt followed Marx’s Communist Manifesto to the letter. One of the first Acts he sponsored was the recognition of the Soviet Union as a nation, when no other free nation even considered it. Five of his Acts were held unconstitutional as being outside the powers of Congress. One, was the Agricultural Adjustant Act which taxed food processors and gave the proceeds to farmers. This was held unconstitutional in U.S. v. Butler, where the Court said ‘taxing one group for the benefit of another’ exceeded the powers of Congress. If the rich are to be taxed for the benefit of the poor who can’t afford health insurance, that is also unconstitutional. The Supreme Court has ruled many times that Congress lacks power to rearrange the wealth of Americans.
However, President Obama, who in a 60 Minutes segment, when he was president-elect, said FDR is his hero and that he intends to follow his lead. This time, they will probably succeed. Welcome to communist America!

Wouldn’t you be launching a full-throated defense of their rights if you could be sure of their vote as a bloc? Anti-American hypocrites!

        • CGB

Oh yes, now there’s an intelligent argument: no matter how ridiculous what the candidate says is, no matter how unqualified for the job, we ‘liberals’ should accept her because liberalism clearly means accepting anyone regardless of their stated political positions because we’re such a warm-hearted, tree-hugging bunch who just want us all to get along. Charles Taylor says that liberalism is also ‘a fighting creed’, and it’s totally true. We’re just as ready to fight for our values as conservatives do for theirs, and I draw the line at giving a girl a chance when she clearly has no capacity for judgement… I don’t find it amusing or cute when a candidate for the highest political office in the nation next to President believes that there are mice-men running around the labs of America.
“Quality” candidates my ass…they ought to be committed. Face up to it, the right-wing right now thinks the zanier the platform and the individual, the more likely they are to get things fixed. Every rightie loves a freak show.

“…no matter how unqualified for the job.” Your words CGB. Did you have that same frame of mind when you voted for a man who has never run anything, not even a popsicle stand, to have the top job in the country? Busing in a bunch of people to listen to cult-like speeches and offer them money to vote for the candidate who is going to give them the most handouts does not qualify one for the office of POTUS. If you go to a business and apply for a job you only get hired if you have the best qualifications and appear to have integrity (obama has neither). You liberals didn’t seem to think having knowledge or experience mattered when you gave the most important job to a man who did nothing more than talk good. I’m just saddened by the fact that we have so many people living amongst us that weren’t smart enough to see the man for who he really is. Fortunately, he’s done enough damage, ignored (and thought himself above) our Constitution and ignored the will of the people so arrogantly that the people have finally stood up and raised their voices. You can’t have it both ways CGB; you’re either against electing people with no qualifications or you’re not. You’re only showing your incoherent, leftist hipocrisy.

Tell that to the average American that doesn’t have a job, money, home, etc. If you do, I guarantee you’ll get a somewhat aggressive response.

“Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope, and Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama bin Laden, no hope and no cash.”

Rightman; “Democrats defending radical Islamics of all stripes”?I hardly doubt that!We defend the rights of all American citizens and in the court of law. We don’t believe in “terrorizing” the Muslim community because A Muslim has committed a crime. We don’t believe in vandalizing a mosque out of some blind rage. We try to avoid (as best as possible) guilt by association. The right does this all the time in describing people they hate. All hispanics are poor trash, all blacks are criminals, all gays spread aids, all liberals are un-American,ect. Besides your comment, I’ll be looking to see what else pops up.

            Eddie,
You forgot to mention Christians. According to the loony left, ALL religions deserve protection, EXCEPT Christians. We’re persecuted now, and it will only get worse if we don’t do something to stem the tide of corruption the loony left has instituted. Can you think on your own, or do your “leaders” tell you what to think and spew?

American, in what ways has Obama and the current administration negatively impacted your life, keeping in mind that the bailout was a done deal before the previous administration left office? What specific policies have you felt impacted your life poorly? I’m curious, because from my own point of view, he’s done very little of the things he ran the platform on: we still don’t have universal health coverage, it’s so watered down, it’s virtually unchanged; we still haven’t done anything about Guantanamo; we still haven’t invested as much as he promised in clean energy; we still haven’t brought enough manufacturing jobs to US soil (notice we keep crying for “jobs, jobs” and the Repubs. promise to deliver, but what KIND of jobs are they talking about? More service sector and low-paying slave-wage jobs?? That’s not the kind of job creation we need…we need good, stable, career-long jobs with good benefits and humane treatment, not more part-time mall clerks on minimum wage. The job rates have steadily improved since Obama took office; the timeline for getting the soldiers out of Iraq has been stuck to to the letter; and the market keeps getting stronger. There haven’t been any miracles, but where are the disasters? The tea party keeps talking about ‘getting the country back’ and ‘restoring America to what I knew before’…but what does that MEAN… back from who? and to what? What exactly are we looking for? a miraculous exit from a humongous deficit and the worst recession in years in less than 2 years?? You’re not looking for human leadership, you’re looking for a God to swoop in and save you, if you really believed that could happen. From a hard-nosed realist perspective the country’s prospects have steadily improved over the past 2 years, and maybe in 20, they’ll really be rolling. The Repubs are just going to set us back.

          • http://?? Joe H.

I’m sure those 50,000 troops in Iraq will be real glad to know that the troop withdrawal is right on schedual, seeing how Nobummer said ALL troops would be out of Iraq within a YEAR of taking office!!!! Have another drink of koolade!! maybe we’ll get lucky and you’ll overdose!!!

          • CGB

            Joe H,

It was to be done incrementally, with all troops back within 18 months of taking office, not one year, and not all at one time. It’s clear that I wasn’t the one drinking when he spoke, and your koolaid must have been spiked.

This story is completely bogus. The Rasmussen poll that showed O’Donnell trailing Coons by 9 points was a hypothetical that looked at what would happen if Mike Castle entered the race as a write-in. Castle isn’t going to launch a write-in bid and it’s hard to imagine that O’Donnell has done anything but lost ground after a week in which she was nowhere to be found on the campaign trail and had to constantly duck questions about lying about attending Oxford. Don’t get me wrong. O’Donnell has raised a lot of money, well over two million dollars since winning the nomination. The real question is why O’Donnell isn’t running her own television ads. Is she conceding the race and saving the money for another U.S. Senate run in 2012?

    • Kinetic1

Judging by her past record, I’d say she’s putting that money aside for her house payments.

  • Roy

so it’s okay for people to call christine a nut cause she dabbled in wickine when she was in high School. gosh and Hillary Clinton can do a sayonce to talk to her dead Mother. is than not sorcery or wicken. there is a double standard set here.

    • THINK ABOUT

So, where did christine get her resume from, she needs to correct that one also.

    • Kinetic1

It’s not the fact that she dated a “witch”, it’s her holier then thou persona. Had she never started a group proselytizing about the sin of dishonesty, less would be said about an “error” in her resume. If she didn’t go about telling the world that she is a true Christian, a believer in creationism and a strict literalist, then dating a witch in high school would mean little. You can’t say that you are all about fiscal responsibility when you yourself have been using campaign funds for personal expenses. Time after time we find that there is no substance behind the venire. That’s the story here, that’s what’s killing her chances. Well, that and saying that she would have turned Jews over to the Nazis rather than lie.

      • TheRightMan

Did you ever learn the meaning between the ‘present tense’ and the ‘past tense’? Read your own comment again: …she IS a true Christian….(indicates her present situation), …dating a witch in high school…(would indicate her past).

Apparently, with you libs, a person’s present does not excuse the past! So using the same yardstick, can the media do their job and dig into Obama’s still unknown past? Can we find out more about Coons Marxist past? Oops I forgot! They are Democrats and therefore shielded by the media…

Doc… Bringing these things up makes her sound more liberal than conservative! People can change. Hopefully she is a true conservative that has seen the light. Randy “Duke” Cunningham, conspiracy to commit bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion. MAJOR Lib!
Scooter Libby, Two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements to federal investigators, one count of obstruction of justice, and one count of a grown man going by the name “Scooter.” What is it with these stupid nick names?

I suggest that all liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, witches, warlocks, jews, Christians, EVERYONE read “Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks and Cronies”. The extent to which O’Donnell or anyone else is allegedly misusing campaign funds is practically non-existent when compared to what is (factually) uncovered in this book. The intricately woven web between obama, his wife, big labor union bosses and government officials is astonishing. Surprisingly, you can pick this up at your local library.

        • eddie47d

Depends on who wrote it and is that person connected to a certain ideology.

  • http://www.voiceofreason.ws Kurtis Bottke

Christine O’Donnell has more courage and backbone than most people here making comments. Who here would want all the ridiculous things they did in high school or shortly after brought up and publicly thrown in their face? The left is always so hypocritical when it comes to muck racking. Christine O’Donnell is a true champion of limited government. She WILL cut spending and taxes. THIS is what the left is really concerned about. These other things they regurgitate are just meant to distract voters from her principled and common sense stances on the issues that really matter. She definitely has my vote and money.

    • GregS

      Well said, Kurtis!

  • Bernard Webb

The very idea of O’Donnell as a Senator would make any thinking American gag. Courage and backbone! My God, what’s wrong with you? The woman is a serial liar who has never held a job. She lied about Claremont and Oxford! She stole campaign money! Wake up!

The people that conservatives lionize and worship (Palin, Beck, Angle, and the uber-loon O’Donnell among them) are such pathetic excuses for politicians and pundits. I defy you to find a corresponding gaggle of ignorant, far-out whackjobs among the “libs” you hate so much.

    • Cliff

“The woman is a serial liar who has never held a job. She lied about Claremont and Oxford! She stole campaign money! Wake up!”

You mean like Clinton to lie about extra marital affairs? First he didn’t then admitted he did. I think you both smoked but didn’t inhale. If Obama is a natural born citizen, why doesn’t he produce a valid birth certificate and end all the controversy? How about years ago Barney Frank saying “Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are fine and solvent” and years later we had to bail them out. “We’ll be in a fanancial mess if we don’t bail out the banks” and yet, we still have 14% unemployment.

      Let’s take a look at Obama’s honesty:
      Full transparency – still waiting.
Post Congressional bills online for five days for all to read before signed into law by Obama – Hasn’t happened.
Cut pork barrel spending – since when?
Meeting minutes will be more open to the public – ?
No more secrecy – Health Care bill anyone? Also HR1207, a bill to audit the Federal Reserve Bank was voted down by Democrats. If there was “transparency” what do they have to hide?
When there is a bill for tax considerations we would know what corporations are going to benefit from it – Really?
Every pork barrel project online for all to know if our elected representatives aredoing their jobs – Ummmmm,,,,,,,yeah.

But O’Donnel is the serial liar.

In the words of John Stossel – Gimme a break.

      • eddie47d

You are somewhat correct for it is a wicked habit few really want to change(which side lies the most and my liar is not as bad as your liar). Neither side truly demands accountability or why all sides can be so corrupt. Obama and O’Donnell are trying to be as honest as they can but in reality they both speak with forked tongue.

        • alpha-lemming

Sorry BUT…. Bad behavior (lying probably being the LEAST egregious) on the right, more times than not, demands accountability from the leadership…. and if not, the voters will definately correct things.

The left??? they haven’t seen a lie, perversion, crime, or rudeness they didn’t like yet. All these things become resume enhancements and the perps are elevated to “rock-star” status (Kennedy, Byrd, Clinton, Fwank, Studds, Sharpton, Barry, Waters etcetcetc) among their amoral accolytes.

Honor and morals still mean something to the right… ALL will be forgiven on the left as long as “gimme” and “gitem” is the incentive.

          • eddie47d

Republicans thought Watergate was no big deal and business as usual. Maybe that attitude rubbed off on the Democrats. Political ads from the Republican Party in 2008 were dispicable so I really doubt if they have changed much.

          • alpha-lemming

I’m pretty sure it was Republicans who told Nixon to “Git da fudge out”!! The right demanding accountability??!!?? Sounds like it.

Leave it to a prog to equate “mean” ads with murder (Kennedy), racism (Byrd), rape (Bubba), and prostitution (Fwank). CLEAN YOUR HOUSE… I’ll GLADLY give your ideas consideration once I feel there’s some honor and morals coming from your side of the aisle… ’til then… NEVER!!

          • 45caliber

            alpha:

I agree. It’s back to the “getting the dust from your brother’s eye while ignoring the log in your own.” I might respect the Dems (and I’m still registered as one) IF they cleaned up their own act before insisting that their act is okay as long as the Repubs have their own problems.

      • THINK ABOUT

There you go again, don’t you get it by now. I can see why Christine has so many supporters of folks who still believe Obama is not a citizen. So you believe her lies on her resume? The cold hard fact is that the driving force behind the Nov. election is spending. The only reason that the Dems are where they are today is because for decades they have been buying votes with tax payer money. (when you rob from Peter to pay Paul you can count on Paul to vote for you.

As Margaret Thatcher said, “the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money.” this is the major problem that the Dems are facing today. over the decades not only have the Dems given their friends tax payer money directly, but they have promised them future benefits that have now balloned totally out of control. in short The Dems have written checks that they now can not cash.

Without the ability to buy votes with other peoples money the Dems are powerless. they are crapping their pants as they now see this vote buying tool fading fast away.

So for the groups members of “The followers of Obama leauge” better known as “FOOLS”, you had better be looking for some one else to support you as we the people are getting sick and tired of providing for you and your parasite friends.

“Republican Senator Tom Coburn said yesterday that Christine O’Donnell, if elected, will be able to combat the stupidity in Washington. So I guess they’re going to fight fire with fire.” —Jay Leno

“You know this Tea Party candidate, Christine O’Donnell is causing a lot of controversy with her kind of unorthodox views. She’s come out against masturbation. You know what that means? She’s out of touch with those voters who are in touch with themselves.” –Jay Leno

“More problems for candidate O’Donnell. It seems she canceled all her Sunday talk show appearances after a video surfaced her on Bill Maher’s TV show where she admitted she once dabbled in witchcraft. So, apparently, she is pro-dabbling, but anti-diddling.” –Jay Leno

“Christine O’Donnell says that she once had a date on a satanic altar? Well, who hasn’t?” –David Letterman

“Christine O’Donnell looks a lot like Sarah Palin, and you know what that means, more work for Tina Fey.” –David Letterman

“Sarah Palin tweeted a warning to Christine O’Donnell that the national media is seeking her destruction. That is ridiculous. If the media wanted to destroy her, they would just douse her with water.” –Craig Ferguson

“Nation, I’ve have been a diehard supporter of Delaware Republican Senate Christine O’Donnell ever since I learned of her existence last week. She is a dynamic, conservative Christian who believes masturbation is adultery. And fellas she’s single and will condemn you for masturbating. The total package.” –Stephen Colbert

“In Delaware, former Republican governor Mike Castle was defeated by Sarah Palin favorite Christine O’Donnell. Nobody knows what this woman does for a living, if anything. All we do know is that she’s gone on the record to oppose masturbation, for real. I have a feeling Christine O’Donnell opposes masturbation the same way Bristol Palin opposes pre-marital sex.” –Jimmy Kimmel

“Democrats are calling Christine O’Donnell ‘the Sarah Palin of the East.’ Really? She’s a loud, emotionally unstable woman from Delaware. That’s not Sarah Palin, that’s Joe Biden.” –Craig Ferguson

“I’m not a political person. I keep to myself. I’m not one to get involved in these things. I’m not proud to say I’ll stand by as our leaders drag us into wars based on false pretenses. I’ll stand by while our oceans are polluted by greedy corporations who only care about money. I’ll stand by while our military blatantly discriminates against our own armed forced based on their sexual preferences. But I’ll tell you something. When our right to masturbate is threatened, that’s where I draw the line. What goes on between me in my own bedroom, and car sometimes, is my business, not the government’s.” –Jimmy Kimmel

“So listen up, Christine O’Donnell — and Rosie O’Donnell too while we’re at it — we need to send a message to Washington, people. This November, I want everyone who believes in basic human rights to touch themselves in the voting booth. I want to say this to Christine O’Donnell. I want you and your followers to know one thing: you’ll take away this penis when you pry it out of my cold, dead hands.” –Jimmy Kimmel

“She hates masturbation, which is ironic, because she owes her nomination to a bunch of jackoffs.” –Bill Maher

“She said that during the primary, ‘I heard the audible voice of God, and he said one word: ‘credibility.’ Which is interesting, because she has no job, there’s a lien placed on her home, and she’s using campaign funds for her living expenses. Her platform is about bringing fiscal responsibility to Washington, but God said ‘credibility.’ I think what God should have said was, ‘Shut up and get a vibrator.’” –Bill Maher

“Christine O’Donnell won a huge upset, but she’s got some problems. Even though she is a Republican, Karl Rove has accused her of lying. Let me tell you something, when the guy who told 300 million Americans there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq says you’re lying, he knows what he’s talking about.” –Jay Leno

“A lot of people love this woman. In the last 24 hours she’s raised more than $1 million. Which I think is ironic, because she’s against masturbation, but she’s taking money hand over fist.” –Craig Ferguson

“She is against masturbation. Frankly, I don’t think it’s any of her business what I do in the privacy of that voting booth. This is America, once you close that little curtain, you should be able to pull any lever you want.” –Jay Leno

Jon Stewart (after showing a clip of O’Donnell saying, “You’re gonna be pleasing each other and if he already knows what pleases him and he can please himself, then why am I in the picture?”): “You’re in the picture, my dear, because as Oscar Wilde once said, ‘I can’t reach it with my mouth.’”

Stephen Colbert (after showing a clip of O’Donnell saying, “The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can’t masturbate without lust.”): “Thank you madam. Masturbation is adultery. I know this is horrible news for my home audience, many of whom are committing adultery as we speak.”

“Her detractors say she’s homeless, jobless, and can’t pay her taxes. And her supporters say, ‘Finally, someone who represents the average American.” –Bill Maher

“Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell says she admires the female warriors from ‘Lord of the Rings’ but she’s against women being in the military. So women can’t fight the Taliban, but they can fight the cave trolls of Mordor.” –Craig Ferguson

“I don’t know a lot about Christine O’Donnell, but she has some interesting views. She has come out against masturbation. And you thought the war on drugs was unwinnable.” –Jay Leno

So what’s your point here coalminer? That you can copy and paste or that there are a lot of liberals out there who have nothing to contribute unless it’s talk of masturbation?

        HER OWN WORDS
“I dabbled into witchcraft — I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. … I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I’m not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do … One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn’t know it. I mean, there’s a little blood there and stuff like that … We went to a movie and then had a little midnight picnic on a satanic altar.”

          ALSO,

          1 i 1 Vote

Delaware’s Tea Party candidate for U.S. Senate, Christine O’Donnell, made headlines recently when a clip showed that she believes it is never acceptable to lie, even if it meant protecting someone like Nazi victim Anne Frank. But, there is mounting evidence that shows O’Donnell’s morality is quite selective, particularly when it comes to her resume and her education.

          From Daily Kos:

Shooting holes in Christine O’Donnell’s education record has officially moved into “fish in a barrel” territory.

For years O’Donnell said that she had graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1993, when she didn’t receive her degree until last summer. And there was her lawsuit that stated that she “has lost the increased earning power that a Master’s degree from Princeton would have created,” despite the fact that she never attended Princeton. Then there was her claim that she studied at the University of Oxford (and not the one in Mississippi), when it was actually a class offered through the Phoenix Institute, which had “merely rented space at Oxford.”

And now, one more — O’Donnell claims on her Linkedin bio that she studied Constitutional Government at Claremont Graduate University. She didn’t.

O’Donnell did, however, study Constitutional Government at the Claremont Institute, a right-wing think tank whose home page currently features their efforts on behalf of Proposition 8 in California, SB 1070, the racial profiling law in Arizona, and the “Sharia threat,” to name just a few.

All this from the woman who once said that she wouldn’t even have lied to Nazis asking if she was hiding Jews because, “telling the truth is always the right thing to do.”

She’s not only a wacko, Christine O’Donnell is a liar and hypocrite.

The 15th Amendment (1870) gave the just freed slaves the right to vote. Fifty years later, the 19th Amendment (1920) gave women the right vote. Then there’s 1 Tim. 2:12, where Paul said: “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

James, I sure hope your wife doesn’t put up with that crap. If anytime told my girlfriend to be silent, there might be moments where I’d silently smile, but most of the time I’d slap ‘em real hard.

”I was dabbling into every other kind of religion before I became a Christian. I was dabbling in witchcraft, I’ve dabbled in Buddhism. I would have become a Hare Krishna but I didn’t want to become a vegetarian. And that is honestly the reason why — because I’m Italian, I love meatballs!”
—Christine O’Donnell, on Bill Maher’s ”Politically Incorrect,” July 19, 1999

—Delaware GOP Senate nominee and Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell, claiming that unnamed political opponents are following her, Weekly Standard interview, Sept. 2, 2010

”By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense. Schools like The Citadel train young men to confidently lead other young men into a battlefield where one of them will die. And when you have women in that situation, it creates a whole new set of dynamics which are distracting to training these men to kill or be killed.”

—Christine O’Donnell, in a 1996 CNN debate on evolution

”During the primary, I heard the audible voice of God. He said, ‘Credibility.’ It wasn’t a thought in my head. I thought it meant I was going to win. But after the primary, I got credibility.”

My guess is that the citizens of Delaware are going to reject Christine O’Donnell because she is not qualified to hold office at the level of the US Senate. Her history and views are mediocre and extreme. I don’t care about HS antics as long as they weren’t criminal, or resulted in harm to someone else. But I have a real problem with a candidate claiming, to this day, that evolution is a myth. I have a real problem with a candidate, especially a woman, who takes the extreme anti-abortion position of requiring a woman to give birth and raise the child of a rapist (which includes visitation rights for the rapist father). I have a problem with a candidate who claims that she is part of a “grassroots” political organization which, as everyone with a pulse knows now, is a front organization for Big Oil (Koch Brothers) and other vested interests. Vested interest, I might add, which serve the interests of the rich The same is true for Angle, Miller, and the other “Tea Party” candidates.

Great new book on the history of the Tea Party movements. Please see “The Whites of Their Eyes:The Tea Party’s Revolution and the Battle Over American History” by Jill Lepore.

As I have said before in earlier posts, where are the genuinely intellectual and competent conservative candidates? Goldwater and Reagan wouldn’t vote for Christine O’Donnell, or any of the other Tea Party candidates. They are all too extreme and out of the mainstream consensus of this country.

    • 45caliber

Reagon might have but Goldwater and others in the GOP are actually RINO’s – more Dem than GOP. And getting rid of them is as good a job as getting rid of the Dems.

      • DavidL

I understand your view, but don’t you think carrying the “purity purges” too far will hurt the Republican Party in the long run by relegating them to permanent minority status?

        • 45caliber

Not if we also purge the Dems at the same time.

      • Norm

        45caliber
Goldwater(“extremism in defense of liberty is no vice”) was a RINO?? You really need to get your act together.

    • James

DavidL, The Bible’s chronology dates Adam’s creation at 5407 BC, and for many centuries it was assumed and taught that all mankind descended from Adam. Then around the end of the 19th century, human remains were discovered that preceded that date. This created a dilemma for Christendom. They either had to chuck the Adamic origin of mankind or the Bible’s chronology…and chose to abandon biblical chronology. There is no reason why the creation of Adam and Eve, and evolution, can’t both be true. It just means that all humans, obviously, didn’t descend from Adam.

Its not like we dont have numerious nuts in our legislature currently and so far they’ve done a good job of screwing up the country for the forseeable future. We’ve had our share of regular nuts to include queers, thieves and liers. Lets try a new batch.
