Arizona Threatens To Cut Power To L.A. Unless Boycotts Are Lifted

May 21, 2010 by

Arizona threatens to cut power to L.A. unless boycotts are lifted An Arizona utility commissioner said on Wednesday that he is willing to cut off Los Angeles’ power if the city moves forward with its economic boycott of the Grand Canyon State.

Last week, the L.A. City Council overwhelmingly approved a measure to suspend a variety of business contracts with Arizona due to the state’s controversial new immigration laws.

Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission, wrote a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa this week stating that he was "dismayed" with the council’s decision, and would entertain the idea of fighting a boycott with a boycott unless it reconsidered the measure, according to CBS News.

"If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation," he wrote.

"However, if you find that the city council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy," Pierce added.

Currently, more than one-quarter of Los Angeles’ electricity comes from Arizona-based power plants, Fox News reports.

    It is time that Arizona and all other States that have half a brain start to back Arizona and laws that should have been imposed by the Federal Government long ago. Arizona’s laws are even strickter than the laws the Federal Government never enforced. Do these other States not know what ILLEGAL means? They are breaking our laws. Their protests along with the ACLU whackos should be totally ignored. All the states should get behind Arizona and enforce immigration laws against ILLEGALS.

    • Ron

      I agree. I would not threaten to do it . Just cut it off and let them know that Arizona does not deal with blackmailers.ILLEGAL-contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations,laws etc.

      • http://TDSpoweredbygoogle Nancy Dalrymple

        I agree also, how can we get a petition to all states for this? I want to know how Arizona did it and then we can start in all the states. illegals take from those who are legal and having babys here is their ticket to freedom and health care etc. There should be a law that if they come here they cannot have any childen until they work at lest a year or more.The hell with the takers now is the time to give to this country that has cleaned them up and gave them a home and education etc.All those who disobey the laws and come here illegal should never ahve another chance period.You needto live in Arizona to see the crime that is happening there and all the people in ajils that are 90 % illegals. Never abuse them but send them home.

        • denniso

          You people are being reactionary about this. You want to ignore the fact that racial profiling will happen,despite what the law says,because cops will look for petty infractions involving people who look like mexican immigrants in order to ask for rheir papers.
          You also are being swept along in a frenzy by some politicians looking for political gain w/ the issue.
          We’re being whipped into a fervor over ‘illegal immigration’ at a time when local police forces are overburdened by serious crime comitted by mostly American citizens, and the vast majority of immigrants are only here to work at low paying jobs and raise their kids.

          People repeat continually that the sole issue is the illegality of people being here w/o proper papers….get in your car, drive down the highway and watch all the illegality around you w/ virtually everyone breaking the law by speeding, while putting all of us in danger of more risk on the roads…much more danger than all of the millions of illegals represent to us.

          This is more witchhunt than law and it’s very hard not to see some degree of racism in it.

          • crystal

            If a cop is racial profiling, he/she is doing it regardless of any legislation or not. Racial profiling doesn’t need a law. What we can do is people who are against Arizona can pay for illegals out of their own purse/wallet and leave the rest of us and our tax dollars for what our tax dollars should be spent on.

          • Eric in AZ

            Thats right. We have enough crime to deal with. We don’t need to add Mexicos.
            FYI, most crime in AZ are committed by Illegals and their associates. I hear it each and every day.

          • Jim H.

            Denniso, I guess because SOME drivers speed, we should just IGNORE every other law too. LAME.

          • Dale Altona

            When I am pulled over I am required to provide id and proof of insurance. If they find I am lacking or a warrant or what ever I would be fined or taken to jail. I see no difference in what Arizona is doing than Seattle area police. In fact I would say the King county sheriffs department couldn’t pass the test of serving the general public. Washington is boycotting Arizona because the politicians are stupid. The general public doesn’t seem to care but they will. It is comming to a boil.

          • Airangel

            Denniso, I challenge you to get in YOUR car or fly to Arizona, CA, NM or TX and stroll the deserts, go to the border towns of Tuscon, Nogales, Sonora, Calexico, El Paso, Carlsbad…whichever border town you check out, also check out the schools and the hospitals and even the degradation of the cities then give me your assessment of what illegals are doing to this country – don’t just drive down the freeway…let along dividing us….plus as you stated…we have our own citizens to contend with we don’t need to support the other 26% of illegals that are criminals in our prisons!

          • Matt Mathews

            You do a great job of using words and figures that lie to make your point of truth .

            The truth is
            1 When the illigal Mexican comes across our border and breaks a law,
            In general the law is either ignored or the law goes away . what is
            left is what you use to make your point on!
            2 in the passed 60 years (about the same time of our present illegal
            alien problem) California has gone from the worlds 5th largest
            economy to a bankrupt STATE.
            3 California’s prisons are loaded with illegal iliens
            yet the damage done to the privet section of the FREE society goes
            unrecored.
            4 Californias GOVERNOR makes a public statement—-”The illegal alien
            has little or no effect on the STATE BUDGET DEFICT”.

            That’s right —the ILLEGAL ALIEN is “NOT” the PROBLEM—-

            ——-The problem is MONITORING OUR LEADERS ——

          • Steven Thomas

            I say profile away. If 99.99999% of the illegal people in my state are from Mexico, guess what, ask them all for identification. It is a federal law that you must carry documentation with you at all times!

            If there is news that there is a blond haired blue eyed guy carrying a bomb and is threatening to blow up a building, don’t you think the police should stop every person fitting that description to see if they have the right person?

            I would love the see the educational backgrounds and intelligence tests on the people that are screaming bloody murder about AZ’s laws. My guess is they are uneducated and lack any sort of intellect. They should be pissed because it is the illegal immigrants that are taking their jobs! Wake up and see what is going on, higher crime rates, less jobs, money leaving the country, funds not being spent on groups that truly need them to subsidize illegals, the list goes on.

            The people that are against it should go to Mexico and help them with their economy and to keep them in Mexico. If you want to come here, do it the proper way!

          • marvin

            dennisoso it ok to pick the law you want to and ignore other is that why phoenix is #1 or #2 in murders i try to obay all laws and if you are here illegally and most 98% are not white so if you are looking for an illegal there is a good chance he is black or brown just a little fact, i an white and have been stopped in a lot of states not becauce i was speeding or breaking the law, but because most states have dui check points or auto check points the first thing they want is id and if i as an american citizen can not or do not produce it i will not drive off they will impound my vehicle and i can go to jail if you are driving with out id it is called dws[driveing when stuped] if you don,t like are law go to mexico and pull your racist profiling sh–, see were it getts you, in jail or dead so go bow to calderon in his failed state we don,t need you ,here we sometimes deport in mexico they sometime kill

          • greyhog

            Hey there denniso- if you think this is just political, why not take a trip to the Arizona border and camp out a few nights! I’m betting you’d be singing a different tune once the inconvenient facts hit you in the face! Funny how facts seem to replace fancy in the real world.

          • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

            Excuse me, but “Mexican” is not a race. Genetically, Mexicans are a mix of Indian and White. Well, so am I. So are a lot of perfectly legal Americans. For that matter, the population of Arizona is 40% mixed-White-and-Indian, and another 20% pure-blooded Indian (which makes Whites a minority). That goes for our police forces, too. So, just how are Indian and part-Indian police supposed to do “racial profiling” against other part-Indian people?

            –Leslie Fish < )O(

          • Palin12

            Dumniso….when you are speeding you are temporarily breaking a law. I don’t think an officer can visit your home the next day and give you a ticket. But illegal aliens by virtue of staying here are continously breaking the law. Even though I almost lost my breakfast, I watched Calderon’s speech (with that ugly witch in the background hopping up and down). How come he didn’t make any reference to Mexico’s immigration law? Such as carrying your papers at all times, 10 years in prison for returning after a deportation, showing proof of not being a financial burdon to the citizens, can only buy property if you don’t upset the “demographic balance”. Then Obummer states that “we are not a nation defined by its boundaries”. What hypocracy from the liberal lunatics!

          • Pat R

            Racial Profiling is done by Obama & staff 24/7.

            What about the incident in Arkansas yesterday? It was stated
            that the ones that killed one Officer and shot another were illegal aliens. I am so sick of all this BS.
            Furthermore, I despise that the Pres. of Mexico had the gall to come on
            American soil and chastize American citizens. He apparently doesn’t like Arizona’s law! (I think it’s too lax) Let’s just adopt Mexico’s on immigration law and be done with it.
            What really p@ssed me off was Obama standing there and letting that arrogant, Mexican pos rant and rail against Americans.
            IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!

          • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

            It sounds like you are saying police should ignore petty infractions if they look like they might be illegal aliens. Now illegals should be exempt from the law. It is a silly argument to ignore petty fractions with the goal of ignoring illegal aliens. I am told in California as much as 25% of the prisions are illegals. It is time you wake up Denniso. America is being over run by millions of illegal aliens and we are losing control of law and order in the border states.

          • JMFELS

            Denniso….how can you miss the point for one did you really read the law…or are you reling on what you hear from the pres on down to the a.g. yes there are laws being broken and people are paying price for it ….so if you have broke the law by entering this country illegaly then you deserve to pay the price and away you go back to square one.. if you are only restating the above mentioned persons than you are part of the problem….illegal is still illegal no matter what color your skin is if you are here that way then tough..besides the police ice and boarder guards are always looking for illegal drug dealers and smugglers….besides the ones who pay the smugglers are really stupid to pay anywhere from $2500 and up to someone to bring you here that way…they should use the money more wisely and take care of themselves and go against the drug cartels….but then again you dont care you just want to rant and rave like rules for radicals call for……well God Bless and God Bless America.. and God Bless Arizona and any state that stands up to enforce the laws…..

          • tshoot

            Too bad about racial profiling. I get racially profiled all the time. All the chicanos look at me cause I’m a middle aged white man and assume I am wealthy. If racial profiling bothers you go back to meh-ico where you can get killed by drug runners. what are the police supposed to do, hunt down illegal Norwiegans? If you arent legal then get the hell out. cry me a river—-Spakata.

          • Kim McGough

            Then maybe all laws should be revoked and MAYBE WE SHOULD GET OUR SIX GUNS BACK OUT, you can not stop racial profiling, and have laws to protect our borders without some kind of profiling. Who is targeted? the illegals coming from Mexico. WHAT ARE THEY? How can you round them up without profiling? Soon there will not be any reason for borders, when your Prez. and the reat of the goons in DC get through it will be one world one money and one religon, So have it your way and quit calling names and belittling each other, soon you want have a decent country to live in unless you can come together and agree on what to do about important issues, quit blame games and realize that the past is the past, and to bad, you can’t change it, but if AMERICANS GET TOGETHER THEY CAN WORK OUT THESE PROBLEMS, but it will be concessions on both sides,

          • Jose Cordero Torres

            Mr. Deniso, read the law before opening mouth and state something you have no idea what is happening in Arizona. The problem with most of comments made about Az. are made by people that have no idea or do not want to understand that we under siege from South of the Border. The immigration laws in Mexico, would curl your toes if you read them ALL. So quit bashing the Az citizens doing what we feel is the right thing to do because the Federal Government has failed to enforce the existing laws, and closing the border to stem the continuous flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico. By the way lots of Canadian’s get deported back to Canada because they have either worked without proper visa, remained in the US with an expired visitors visa. Many other residents of other countries fall under the same category. So amigo, get your ducks in a row before you start condeming the Arizona residents, all 70% of us who approve SB1070.

          • JustaPatriot38

            Well, Mr. Denniso, I think that you have a very narrow view of the situation. The Arizona law is simply an attempt to enforce a current Federal law; it is not new. It is not only the Mexican felons who enter illegally, there are many felon OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) who are entering illegally through this portal, and a great many of the OTMs have a definite intent to do this country harm. I have observed that most of the people who cry “racist” the loudest and most often are the most racist of all, and usually have something to gain by it. All states should follow the Arizona example. Any U.S. Citizen worthy of being called a U.S. Citizen should not have a problem with showing his/her ID with pride. Nearly all, if not all, U.S. Citizens carry a Drivers License or State issued ID, and Federal law requires all LEGAL immigrants carry their ID with them at all times. The police have a great deal more to do than pester locals that are not doing something suspicious. If profiling bothers people, the police should just randomly check everyone’s ID. As far as cutting off L.A. power, I feel it is quite appropriate; if L.A. is going to boycott Arizona it should include all products including electricity. Wake Up, America!

          • charles

            Well denniso,

            you show that you really did graduate from 3rd grade..
            you sound smart but talk dump……

          • denniso

            I’ve been on the border. I don’t advocate that people break the law to come here illegally. What you all are missing is that the problem is blown out of all proportion to the real risk of crime from illegals. My example of driving as a greater risk to our lives was used to illustrate that cops have to prioritize what they enforce,and theoretically they should go after the greater threats to society. If speeding and reckless driving are a greater threat to everyone on the road then why aren’t you people outraged that the police don’t slow speeders down and save more lives?
            That’s my point…you’re going after a group of people who mostly don’t harm anyone…most crime is comitted by american citizens and there are very few citizens who are victims of violent crime by illegals.
            So the outrage and anger and hatred directed toward illegals is way out of proportion to the problem caused by them…that’s all I’m trying to get you to see…

          • GregS

            Denniso, it’s the city government of LA, as well as any other external entitiy that decides to boycott Arizona, which is “being reactionary about this”…NOT the people on this forum! LA needs to keep its nose out of the business of other states! I should think that the state of California has enough problems of its own (especially financial) for LA to be concerned about, without getting involved in the affairs of Arizona. Shame on LA!

            Secondly, you raised the issue about “…the vast majority of immigrants [that] are only here to work at low paying jobs and raise their kids.” My question to YOU is what about those who are here LEGALLY, who are unemployed and looking for jobs, so that they have money to raise their kids??? Whether low-paying or high-paying, those jobs are being taken by ILLEGALS!

          • Action Ministry

            Please consider that when I go to the doctor I must show proper ID and health insurance card; that’s the policy supported by the law that I must adhere to. Is that fair? Why can’t I sneek past the doctor and get some medicine? People in the hallway would stop me if I didn’t belong and I would be arrested and sent “home” for not following the law. How is this any different? I can see the doctor, just have to get all the documents, ID, and proofs that I am in the office correctly. I don’t speak “doctor” but I have to tell them in some basic term what is needed or what is wrong. I don’t feel violated against for having to do that. Is that racial profiling in the doctor’s office? There is scripture for this – I Peter 2:15-17 “…Fear God. Honor the King.”

          • http://personalliberty.com Rick

            Deniso,

            One simple question. If you do not want anyone to prove they are here legally, then do you not remove ANY AND All methods for finding out if someone is here ILLEGALLY, which is a crime?

            What gives you or the far left the right to pick and choose the laws to be enforced?

            What about the 2005 UNANIMOUS decision by the supreme court giving all federal law enforcement officials to demand proof of citiczenship without any reason whatsoever?

            Also, I am sick and tired of the argument the illegals are only doing the jobs Americans wont. They are in direct competition to my job and driving down my wages.

            Let L.A. protest in the dark!!!!!

          • R. L. Goorey

            Oh, BOO HOO–

          • Another American Citizen

            Denniso & Maruca, ……I agree with you both ! Why doesn’t everyone see one of the real reasons our U.S. is down,….is it because of this war ? etc, etc, etc,…… When the Towers were hit, they called them Mexican Terrorists….when there is a latin looking face…..they blame Mexicans ! When there is a crime …..they blame Mexican, when the economy goes down,…. they blame Mexicans. Have they blamed the stock drops on Mexicans yet? Exactly where is the blame for our many, many different disasters…..come on, lets stay focused “quit blaming Mexicans”. Lets focus on our many more serious problems that need attention. Also, like Maruca said: there are other Latin races, or is it convenient to just pretend and just accuse a “Mexican”? And when you mention crimes, how about the other 5000 crimes that are not related to Latins, why aren’t they mentioned here ? Maybe people are just angry because of this terrible economy and are dying to point the finger wherever it sticks so they can release some of their frustrations. Like whipping your child because you had a quarrel with your spouse…..shame on you ! Lets focus on the real issues and quit lashing out at whatever hate gossip that comes along. What about the incident where the 20 Immigration offices beat one immigrant to death and another Immigration officer killed a 14 year old boy while this boy was in his own country? I don’t see you talking about these incidents. I bet most of you out there were also immigrants, and now you talk and pretend like you all have blonde hair and blue eyes. All the Latin people I know are mostly hardworking people and just want to feed their families. Cut the racial profiling and just admit that you LOVE getting your jobs done cheap or free. I hear of many of these immigrants getting robbed or killed just by walking on the streets. And when it comes to working, they are not always paid for their hard labor, but I don’t hear you talking about that either! They are used and abused with long grueling hours of labor and heavy work that no one wants to do. So next time you want any work done that is too heavy for you to do…..try doing it yourself….believe me, you will wish you had just one of these hard working immigrants there to pay cheap to & to do that hard work for you! And as Maruca said: you can’t just say (Mexican) because there are other immigrants from Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Equador, China, Russia, Koreans, Bolivia, Peru …the list goes on and on. Don’t show your ignorance when it comes to where an immigrant can come from…..Maybe if you look down from your high horses and tell yourself, “this nation was made up of mostly immigrants”….and also ask yourselves “were you or your ancestors also immigrants” ? Be honest and unblind yourself & stop the finger pointing! We are all so involved in finger pointing these days at Latins, that we have all lost what should be our “REAL FOCUS”. I also agree with Denniso, that this AZ law is more of a “Witch Hunt” than law and it has quite a degree of “Racism” in it. I remember this similarity with the “Blacks” way back when…….how many races do we crucify before our “Racism” is realized ?

          • Ann

            I am american and I have to show who I am when stopped by police! I have to identify myself just to write a check! Why would mexican or etc. be any different! Why would you reward criminals for breaking the law? Goodness where we would be in life without laws. It would be nice to find the “large employers” for our own people who have lost their jobs. Do you think you could go to mexico and not show papers as to who you are and where you came from? You are right about being used as a political weapon!

          i could be wrong but i could have swore that there is no such thing as anchor babies. if there isnt there sure needs to be. to be legal you have to be legal. and one big HOOORAAAY for arizona

          • Hugh Jordan

            On some issues I am conservative and others I tend to have a more progressive outlook, but when it comes to illegal aliens… illegal is illegal is illegal. What is not to understand?

            I saw an interview with a young woman from Mexico who was completing her college degree. It turned out that she was illegally in the country and authorities were trying to deport her. Her family came here without invitation, had their kids educated in our schools at our expense, got free medical care through the welfare system and a free ride in college.

            She believed that she “was just pursuing the dream” and should be allowed to stay. She genuinely felt that there was nothing wrong with coming here illegally, milking the system, and getting HER dream at the expense of others. On most levels, she seemed like a nice young woman.. but illegal is illegal is illegal. She got caught… time to go home. I she wants to be here… get on line like the honest people.

          • coal miner

            Hugh,

            I usually agree with the people on the left and the moderate right.I don’t believe illegal aliens are entitled to a free education.I had to pay for my children’s and granddaughter’s schooling.Let their parent countries pay for their’s.I don’t know about racial profiling,that is another matter.

        • Jimmie

          It is my understanding that we are the only country in the world that makes a child born in this country and makes it a citizen. Why? The U.S.A. is the greatest country in the world, everyone wants to come here. Someone needs to tell Obama that. I live about 3 miles from the Mexican border. Mexico has some of the worst laws in the world. If youa re caught in Mexico without a passport or papers, you are put in a Mexican jail for 2 years. Mexican laws are draconian. As for racial profiling – that’s a joke. You can’t help it. If I had robbed a bank they would be looking at all the fat old ladies, why look at a skinny young male? I’m not particularly bright but we have some of the stupidest people in the world in office and Washington. I weep for my country.

          • John Crum

            WE are being run by a bunch of morons in Washington

      • Rick Quill

        Ron I agree with you. Granted, supposedly they can’t do that because then they would be breaking the law themselves but!! What if Arizona and other border states were to seceed from the U.S.? Then they wouldn’t be subject to “ANY” of the laws handed down by D.C. and they would be free to deal with illegal immigration as they see fit. Of course California would never seceed only because the progressive base in that state has become too dependent on all the “free” handouts and government sustenance programs they currently receive. Arizona has demonstrated that it has a backbone whereas California has proven they are wimps and have no backbone. I say “put California in the dark”.

        • Hugh Jordan

          As a Californian, I am disappointed in our state’s gutless reaction to this problem. When I see crowds of demonstrators carrying Mexican flags demanding open borders for their relatives, I wonder if they would be out in the streets if the “immigrants” were from elsewhere.

          This is a s much a cultural invasion as an ethnic invasion. They want to retake “occupied Mexico”.

          Visit a public park in LA primarily use by those from south of the border. If you can find a square yard on the ground without litter you are lucky… while empty trash receptacles stand nearby.

          • tom

            the park thing is the same here in the north east, there are as many illigals in my city as was the population here in the 70s

      • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

        Is there any way we can cut off our LA-bound water, too?

        –Leslie Fish < )O(

      • Elaine

        I agree with you Ron. I say Arizona should go ahead and do it. California always acts so mighty and superior. It is an attitude there, even while the state is broke, the people are mean and unfriendly, the crime is unreal, etc. Arizona is doing the right,
        decent, moral and legal thing to protect its people. By far that is
        more than California has ever done. California is going down so
        quickly and they continue to boast. I am in transition at the moment, think I will move the Arizona.

    • Annie

      According to a piece on Greta Van Sustern – Fox NEWS, on Thursday evening, the Arizona law is LESS severe than what the Federal Govt. law stated, not worse than what the Fed. Govt. worked (?) on in regard to illegal immigrants. check it out for that fact.

    • Wayne

      Is Arizona the only state with any backbone . Three cheers for Arizona
      go for it!

      • crystal

        No. Rhode Island has just sent a bill up that mirrors Arizona’s new legislation. Orange County, CA this week is backing Arizona and has stated they would observe all immigration laws.

    • CS Key

      When did it become correct behavior to vote or side with people/cultures because they “look” like you? I thought more importantly that truth was the reigning quality that we seek as Americans.

      First Black America votes for a “black” president (97% of the black population voted for him) and now Mr. Villarigosa (sp?)threatens the legal actions of law in support of those who share his ethnicity!

      When did race matter more than law? We are in a sorry state of crisis when the ties of American loyalty are nullified by our country of origin! I think I will go out, find, and begin to identify with every Scottish person I come across! God Save the Queen!

      • Hugh Jordan

        Great observation.

    • George in NY

      Barb,
      I agree, but most of those crying about AZ law do have something to hide or are close to if not related to someone who is here illegal. One cure for the border is those large shipping containers that come into this country from China each year. Over 150 million each year and we only send 20-30 million back,the rest are melted down for scrape and reformed into something else. Airzona could aquire some of them scraped containers and line the border with them 3 or 4 high and put high voltage electric fence along the top. Then the only job they would have is cleaning the fried border crossers and dropping them back to their side of the containers. What do you think, I bet it would stop any new illegalls or at least slow it down.I am sure if it were Americans going into Mex and comitting crimes , Mexico would have done the sams or worse years ago.

    • d

      Well, here it is at last… surprise, surprise…

      Lolo Soetoro, Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro, baby Maya Soetoro, and 9 year old Barry Soetoro.

      obama is an ilegal

      This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro.

      Name: Barry Soetoro
      Religion: Islam
      Nationality: Indonesian

      How did this little INDONESIAN Muslim child – Barry Soetoro, (A.K.A. Barack Obama) get around the issue of nationality to become President of the United States of America ?

      PART 2:

      In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College…

      The transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia while an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

      This document provides the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking – that he is NOT a natural-born citizen of the United States – necessary to be President of these United States. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya, here we see that there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship..

      Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records.

      Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still on-going but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder.

      Mr. Holder has refused comment on this matter.

      LET OTHER FOLKS KNOW THIS NEWS – THE MEDIA WON’T!

      Go ARIZONA!! C’mon Texas get in the game. It will only take a few states to get the ball really rolling. Let’s TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!

      • Dale Altona

        Right on it is time to join with Arizona. Stand up AMERICA

      • http://? Allie Spurgeon

        AMEN!!!! I am old, and remember when America was THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!! It is so sad to see what we have become. I believe every State should stand behind Arizona. I pray we can take America back before it is too late.

      • Robert Wayne

        I live in Louisiana, about 25 miles east of the Texas border and I’m hoping both Louisiana and Texas side with Arizona on this. If the federal govt. had not been so lax over the years in dealing with these Mexican criminals, things wouldn’t be to this point. And it’s obvious that Obama is on Mexico’s side and against American citizens on this. As for as I’m concerned the communist ba*tard and all of his friends like Holder, Pelosi and the rest of the America hating libtards need to be deported along with all of the illegal aliens in this country.

  • Glen

    Sounds like Arizona has some backbone. The outcry against the Arizona law definitely reflects the dumbing-down of America. Arizona has the right to control its borders when the federal government refuses to do so. Other states need to use this situation to demand that the federal government finally establish true control over its borders. Boycotting one state because it reacted when its back was against the wall and it had literally no other choice is foolish.

    • Eddy H

      I WISH OUR WIMPY OFFICIALS, BEGINNING WITH OUR GOVERNOR (WHO IS RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION) IN TEXAS HAD THE NERVE TO NOT ONLY SUPPORT ARIZONA, BUT TO PASS SIMULAR LAWS. MAYBE THIS NEEDS TO BECOME AN ELECTION ISSUE.

  • Lee Abel

    Rock on baby, Go Arizona, put the screws to LA, besides after a few gangs try to take over during a black out maybe LA will think better about getting tough.
    Besides if California and its wimpinator governor would get tough on illegal aliens and throw some of the bums out, hey maybe they wouldnt be broke!

    Iagree with Ron, just do it. Support Arizona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I CONCUR FULLY WITH THE STAND ARIZONA IS TAKING. WE AS AMERICANS CAN ALSO HELP BY MAKING OUR SUMMER VACTION TO BE IN ARIZONA AND ELIMINATE ANY STATE NOT BACKING ARIZONA. LETS SHOW OUR SUPPORT BY HELPING REPEL THIS TERRIBLE INJUSTICE. DO YOU AS ADULTS, NOW THINK AT ALL WHAT YOUR PARENTS WHO HAVE BROUGHT US TO THIS LAND OF THE FREE WOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR ALIENATION OF OUR CONSTITUION THEY AND WE HAVE SO JUSTLY FOUGHT FOR. IMMIGRANTS ARE WELCOME AS LONG AS THEY DO WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A US CITIZEN. AND THAT INCLUDES, AS ALL WHO HAVE DONE SINCE OUR EARLY YEARS, SPEAKING ENGLISH. ALL SPANISH SIGNS, PHONE CALLS AND GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SHOULD GO BACK TO ONLY ENGLISH. THE REDUCED COST OF EXTRA SPANISH MATERIALS ALONE WOULD BE TREMENDOUS. WE AS AMERICANS MUST FIGHT BACK IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. I, AS A VIETNAM VETERAN WILL DO EXACTLY THAT, INCLUDING BACK TO WAR IF I NEED TOO. I WILL PROTECT MYSELF AND FAMILY AS THE CONSTITUION SAYS I CAN. FREEDOM FOR ALL, BUT IN A LEGAL FORM AND WAY. ILLEGALS OF ANY NATION SHOULD REFORM OR RETREAT!!!!

    We all should support Arizona!
    We are going on vacation there!
    Did anyone publish a list of Arizona businesses
    that we should buy from?
    This tit for tat bull should not happen but L.A. started
    this.
    Did anyone publish a list of L.A. enterprises that we should boycott!.
    In a previous post , someone criticized the A.C.L U.
    I am a member and only the members can change the erroneous direction they take.
    Write the A.C.L.U. and demand that they take the focus of the protection
    of non legal residents and turn to protect legal residents.
    I immigrated here 54 year ago and am grateful for the opportunity to live in the U.S.
    Robert Kapteyn

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Robert,
      Two things to watch for is strawberries and citrus fruit!! they are labled product of California. Let it rot in their fields and I’ll bet they change their tune real quick. Oh and head lettuce, too!

  • John

    Actually, what the Arizona Corporation Commissioner was telling them that if they want to boycott, make it a true boycott and not get ANY power from AZ and he would broker the redistribution of the 25% of LA’s power that comes from AZ. He was telling them to “fish or cut bait”, that they cannot have it both ways! AZ knows that if they eliminate the 25% of LA’s power produced in AZ, that the entire power grid will be overwhelmed and Will go dark – either that or all LA residents will have to cut their usage by 25%, and we all know that isn’t going to happen! “Put up or shut up” was the message and a great one!

  • David Luepke

    Why not give the illegals a one way ticket to California?

    • crystal

      Hey, don’t send them here!!!

      • Palin12

        How about Massachussetts then? :-)

  • Kate

    Do what I did yesterday. Find an Arizona business, one that you can assume does NOT hire illegals) and buy something from them. I got on the state web site and looked up a list of businesses, found a small business run by a woman which included her picture with her beautiful family, and I ordered something from her company. Then I wrote an email telling her I wanted to support an Arizona business and I will help support their economy even if I’m not able to travel there.

    And before you lib kooks ask “How did you know she was not an illegal Mexican?” I will tell you that it was a white woman. I wanted someone who did not look like a Mexican, and a business that probably wouldn’t hire illegals.

    So all you legal Mexicans need to stand up and speak out against the illegals who are here! Tell those poeple they are ruining our economy when they come here and drain our resources! They are not welcome.

    • Joe

      Kate, Your comment is the most racist comment here. Love that you showed your true colors by saying the store owner’s picture was white. Do you not think she could have been an illegal Canadian? I suppose not because people like you are just racist, hate filled people who really are white supremacist’s hiding under a larger issue. Please crawl back in you hole and please stay out of our state. Would rather deal with a bad economy that have you here.
      Yes I am white, legal and I am an Arizonan and I do not support this law.

      • Norman

        Well Joe, all I can say is: PACK YOUR BAGS AND CATCH THE NEXT FIGHT TO LAX. THEY MAY FIND A PLACE FOR YOU IN CALIF.

        Amazing how much ignorance is in our country!
        Racisim is your only card.
        GO KATE!!!

      • Annie

        So Joe, I guess we will all now have to profile in order to support legal people looking to make an honest living, pay taxes and live in a country that gives people the opportunity to do things legally. But you consider that being prejudiced. Why do some people prefer Home Depot to Lowes, that’s a preference that we have and hopefully, we don’t lose our rights to do that. So many of our rights are being lost and violated in the name of JUSTICE by our government? Give me a break. This is AMERICA. I’d like to hear back from you when one of your rights become violated, which may be coming sooner than you think.

        • Kim

          It’s unfortunate that another law had to be passed to attempt to control an out-of-control situation in Arizona (similar situation in other border states.) The audacity of the lawbreaking illegal immigrants and their demands for free citizenship, free health care, free education, etc., along with their refusal to assimilate into society as other immigrants have historically done has caused people who would ordinarily freely welcome outsiders to feel less welcoming.

          We should immediately repeal the 14th amendment, which was needed after the Civil War to ensure former slaves citizenship but is no longer necessary. Without “anchor baby” status, we might slow down some of the illegal migration. There has to be some semblance of law and order in our society. If someone truly wants to immigrate, follow the same channels others have. File your paperwork, pass the exams, learn the language, pledge allegiance to the US (not Mexico) and we will welcome you with open arms. Oh, and by the way, leave your ties to the gangs behind when you come!

          • charles

            Dear dear Kim,

            If you read the article by Chip Wood, he says that the 14th ammedment
            never was signed or passed that the reason for it was if the southern
            states were not part of the United States but being they were never
            seperated from the Union, the 14 ammendment never is, was, or legal.
            Sooo alll these anchor babies are just that, anchor babies without an anchor..

            GOD BLESS AMERICA,,,,,,,,,,,,,GOD BLESS AMERICA

      • andrew

        wow talk about hate,why is it you libs have a heart so filled with hate?Why cant you have a conversation or debate with out the vitriol?BECAUSE you want to try to make people feel bad,well maybe its time to change your tactics because the american people are getting tired of your pre-school tactics and verbalage.

        • Bob Wire

          Andrew, don’t confuse resistance to a bad idea as hate. Just accept it as resistance it’s going to take deeper thought then seem willing to apply.

          case in point;Katey say,”And before you lib kooks ask “How did you know she was not an illegal Mexican?” I will tell you that it was a white woman. I wanted someone who did not look like a Mexican, and a business that probably wouldn’t hire illegals.”

          Now I can read “racial hate” as motive into her statement very easily but Katey was attempting to make a point, not feeling she was displaying any bias, a bias I “might” conclude rooted in hate.

          Never the less, it stands spoken and is what it is. Her bias was deliberate and intentional as she attempt to support her beliefs.

          It’s interesting to note, a bigot is always the last one to know, much like a man with a cheating wife. The reason for this is a blindness to the facts and refusal to accept them when confronted with them. We don’t want to believe, we don’t want to see.

          This human behavior is shared by us all, men, women, of all races. However, in this crowd it runs wild, unbridled and considered “healthy and the norm” and anything outside considered a “deviant” of the normal. So we get called names, all kind of names, this built up hate is now directed at us for offering resistance to what we feel as a bad idea. ~ I when thought the same thing with the invasion of IraQ, I thought it a bad idea, a fight I lost and you won. So, I’m use to being the odd man out, called names and personal attacks. But I don’t think I was wrong then and I’m not wrong now.

          I fear, people are going to get all worked up, people are going to get hurt, government will spent a lot of money and little long term good comes of it. That’s not necessary. This can be done well.

          Arizona and all of the US States has a huge immigration problem. I fail to see how SB1070 in and of itself address the real issue,and more of a half baked, knee jerk response to a serious issue that calls for a serious solution.

          But I do think, it’s perhaps a great lay down, opening card for the game that’s to follow. A game where cooler minds and long term vision address the “whole issue” and all parties are represented at the table.

      • crystal

        I’m African American and I fully support this law. Seeing what has happened in our schools (I have a son in school) with funding for Science and Math going to English Learner classes. Seeing our schools penalized because illegal immigrant families refuse to have their childrent take the Standardized Test (schools lose money if test are not taken). Seeing parents no longer participating in PTA meetings because the schools have to take an additional hour or more for translating to Spanish speaking parents in between each English phrase, and nobody has time for this. Pressing #1 for English (get real). We need a major crackdown on illegal immigrants and Arizona is paving the way.

        hey you anti american so called white tootie fruity and probably real fruity want to be american, why dont you go to mexico then and lavish your self with all your illegal buddies then. i cant believe you actually side with the liber…….oh i get it , you must be the american hating obama bin laden lover….yeah you are…admit it you communist. i cant believe you dumped on your own people like that. hell i bet you were a draft dodger too. one of them commie fag junkies.

          If I didn’t know you better I’d have to say that your comment sounds like the words of a white supremacist…

          • Jim H.

            Denniso, Unlike your words, that come from a white inferiorist.

          • denniso

            Do you mean what that sounds like? It sounds like you think you’re superior to others,especially nonwhites.

          • Jim H.

            Denniso, If you had a sense of humor, you would have gotten the joke. In the humor dept. I am superior to you. I don’t have to over compensate, by being ashamed of my race, to prove that I don’t believe the others are less than mine.

      • Allan

        Not that it matters to you, but illegals from Mexico are causing grief for legal Hispanics (and other minorities) across the U.S. You are aiding and abetting that.

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

        Stop the racist crap. That is getting old and is not going to work anymore. For the left the answer is always “it’s George Bush’s fault” or “your a racist”. We have severe problems and we do not want excuses for failure anymore. We are under attack by millions of Mexicans and we are not going to take it any more. You see what it is like in Warrez and we do not want that here in America.

          Jose…I’m a kaaleeforneean and I back Gov. Brewer and SB1070.I also back Sheriff Joe Arpaio. If states had -alls,Arizona right now is the only state that has any! Go for it Arizona!

      • CS Key

        Liberals always point the finger and claim “racism” or “discrimination” when they have no argument; they believe that this ends the discussion because now they hold the “superior” position in the debate. Not so…the facts have yet to be discussed.

        Conservative, family-values, die-hard Americans point to facts (not at people) and debate along lines of thought and logical progression…good luck with this (it will be worth your time if you really try to debate with facts not finger-pointing). Remember, anything new is generally taxing on the brain.

        A thought to ponder…why do young liberals age and become conservative, but young conservatives who get older NEVER become liberal? Hmmmm….

        • JC

          You’re right, they like to think they take the moral high ground. Problem for them is that they have no morals.

          • Bob Wire

            What a crock! You got ya sum morals have ya? Well try displaying them with your words!

            People tend to get more conservative with age it’s true. One’s realization of our on mortality come into focus. As the teeth grow weak and vision blurs. As we seem to think we can still jump as high, but fail to stay up in the air as long. We all lose hang time.

            As we take stock of what we achieved and how damn hard it was to do. Sharing it most distasteful to contemplate. I get pinch anywhere for 1 to 2 grand a year from various sources, from family,friends, strangers or small investment decisions I made with my heart and not my head. It’s not hard to come up short especially with this “predator” business environment government has allowed and protected over the last 30 years while “Claiming” to be conservative. I guess conservative for “whom” is the real question.

            It is this very conservative notions that should encourage us to get this immigration issue “right” for it could well develop into a huge can of worms and left up to your grandchildren to deal with.

            Does anyone see something wrong with doing it “well”?

      If ya break a law in Mexico your sent to what they call Jail..is a hell hole and the Illegals breaking a law in the US at least get 3 squares and a dry place to live.. If ya go Juarez the local cops will put the squeeze on ya.. and Say you have broken a law, even if you havent and say, You can stay out of jail (a hell hole) if you give me a twenty USD. Its easier to pay the Jackson and move on.. I tell everyone dont go to Mexico NO MORE.. If the cops dont get ya the drug gangs will. The gangs (most Illegal) are in Az NM and Tx, and spreading.
      Just enforce the Fedral law and send back and back and back till they dont have the cash to come back
      I love brown and was married to one.. Her Family came to America (1583-1588)before the Pilgrims.. But thats a diffrent story, Back AZ and get the Feds off thier butts., and tell Obama he doesnt not to count on the Illegals to win again. Thats the bottom line,, the vote thatthe illegals sneek thru,, why the lazy guys do nothing in Washington and still win.,
      Have a nice day everyone and dance with life..Go to Mexico to dance a Ranchetia

      I’ll tell you one thing. I hope Jan Brewer decides to run for president in 2012. She’d have my vote in a heartbeat. I guess women politicians are like men politicians. Some of them are good and some of them are scum of the earth. Unfortunately, there are some no good trash from the female gender who are in politics too. Janet Napolitano’s ears should be burning right now.

SHE,S THE STUFF THAT MADE THIS NATION GREAT.GREAT JOB WELL DONE .GOVENOR.BREWER. YOU JUST CANT HELP BUT THINK,FINALLY AN HONEST OFFICE HOLDER A NOBLE PUBLIC SERVANT.

    FUNNY, IF LA GOT RID OF ALL ITS ILLEGALS, THEIR POWER USAGE WOULD DECLINE BY 25% ANYWAY. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE MANY SPANISH OR MEXICAN LEADERS IN CALIF. DID THEY BECOME CITIZENS IN THE PROPER AND LEGAL WAY, WHEN YOU PUT THEM IN OFFICE, THEY WILL PROTECT THEIR OWN AND NOT THE USA..

    • TIME

      Barry,

      From what I understand 25% is on the low side, think more in line with 65%, as well the crime levels would drop by 90% plu, all so the Social programs that your Tax dollars pay for like EBT cards Medicade, and just think about the traffic, all of these things would put the State of Calie back in the black and out of their $54, Billion dollar hole.

  • Private American Citizen

    Stay Strong Arizona! People in this country have GOT to stand up and protect the rights of the LEGAL citizens. Come on people – Arizona is being brutalized by the media and the liberals for trying to protect the interests of their state. The US Gov – ODrama and the rest of the dems in office are trying to destroy our way of life. I say to Everyone – See you Arizona this summer! Buy something – anything in AZ.

    Also, go ahead AZ – Cut the power to California. Those freaky nuts need a wake up call. Do it!!!

    I have never really paid any attention to politics until recently – but – I am so damn angry with what I see coming out of Washington right now that I plan to vote every time I can & try my best to vote for people who want to get these America destroyers out of office. I am not a political person but I am a single mother. I am self employed and pretty well off & I am one Pissed Off white woman!!!

    • Joe

      One pissed off White women. Could you just have been a pissed off American. Can people really see this is racism?
      There is a great need for immigration reform but, the law passed by our Governor is not the answer. Too many questions about how to handle the very lives this law will destroy. Please think deeply if you are capable.

      • Norman

        If you will take the time to read to read The Constitution and then compare it to the Arizona Law you will not find much difference. The Arizona Law just enforces what is said in the Constitute that “OUR GOVERNMENT” will not enforce. We have all the “LAWS” we need, we just need “ENFORCEMENT” of them by “OUR GOVERNMENT”! Do not tie the hands of the Law Enforcement Offerers that are only trying to do their jobs, their job is tough enough as it is, give them some help to uphold the Constitute of our “GREAT LAND!” And you might become an “OATH KEEPER” yourself! That is if you want to help save “OUR GREAT COUNTRY”

        • Eric in AZ

          AMEN!! ENFORCEMENT NOT REFORM!!

      • Private American Citizen

        Joe, I am not a racist. I am just sick and tired of the media and my government repositioning the hard working white citizens as horrible, racist people. Seriously, anyone can see that the US gov is working hard to make us all look like hate mongers in order to promote their socialist agenda.

        If I had said I am one pissed of Mexican or black woman the message would have been received differently?

        Get real buddy – I have the right to be proud of my heritage and you don’t have the right to try and make me feel guilty. People are people. Some good and some not so good.

        AZ has the right to protect it’s interests – The Government in WA is broken and they are not protecting it’s citizens.

        Put down the kool-aid and read the constitution.

      • Annie

        Joe, don’t you think that the illegals are destroying our American way of life? We are supporting them with OUR money, education, social services, etc. Look, if you broke the law, you can bet you will suffer consequences, so it should be with the illegals. They are running from a horrible situation in Mexico but they are affecting our COUNTRY. don’t you get it? or maybe you never got an education in fairness and the difference between right and wrong.

      • andrew

        hey joe,do us all a favor,if you can,read the law before you state your knee jerk liberal response.

      • Steven Thomas

        Why are you on the “White” kick. I have yet to see anyone quoting our governor as being a “White” woman? I have had it with illegal immigrants in my state. Have you seen what they have done to the Sonoran Desert during their illegal entries? It is disgusting; filled with fecal matter, garbage, dirty diapers, etc. FEMA will have to be called in to clean it, yeah right, like they can do anything right.

        If you are here illegally, get out! I give you the one strike option, first strike, 5 years in prison, not liberal prisons like we have here in the US, but prisons like those in Malaysia, etc. where you have no rights at all. Then, you get shipped back. If you are caught again, it is instant gratification to put a .45 ACP through your head where you stand and send you home in a body bag!

        Illegals are killing this country, so why not return the favor?

        • angel-wanna-be

          Steven Thomas, Oddly enough, two days ago, I recieved a email, with pictures, showing a desert location in Arizona, in a shallow revine, filled with junk diapers as you say, make shift tents, clothing, trash and fecal matter, strewn everywhere. It’s a damn shame.

          • Palin12

            angel…there’s a couple of houses on my block that harbor illegal aliens. You should see what they do to the properties, it’s just despicable! No maintenance of the yards at all. Junk and trash piled all over, 4 ft tall weeds growing with wild abandon, graffitti on the garage doors, junk cars with no license plates piled up all over the block. They are content to tear down our property values and turn the neighborhood into a barrio.

        • rwnut

          Steven Thomas…..Not only are they killing this country,they are killing citizens daily.

      • goat head on

        again joe….now one wants to hear about you liberal ways and again the commie —- junkie was in reference to you

      • Robert Wayne

        All of the racism I see is coming from left wing communist scumbags like you. If she wants to say that she’s one pissed off white woman that’s her business and not a damn bit of yours. Also it’s these stinking mexicans who are invading this country, not the other way around. If we were invading and destroying their country you empty headed idiotic liberal retards would be yapping about how terrible and racist we are. But now that we’re out to stop them from invading this country you imbeciles are claiming we’re racist for protecting ourselves, our property and our homes. I find you and the others, from Obama on down, who are on the side of these illegal invaders to be utterly and completely despicable.

      • del

If it okay to be a black American there is no reason why anyone has to be ashamed about being a white American. Wake up Joe and stop that leftest mind control crap.

        • rwnut

          Bruce D…..That’s the problem with Joe and the left. They won’t call themselves AMERICAN. They are always a HYPHENATED-AMERICAN.In their eyes this gives them a special status.

    How is it the Government is always so quick to enforce Tax Burdens on the Citizens without hesitation, despite the outcry of those being taxed. But, call on them to enforce the “already on the Books Laws” and they halt any action and listen to every little squeaky voice that protests! The Arizona Law makes perfect sense!! The U.S. is turning their head on Laws they approved and refuse to enforce because it will protct the citizenry and many aspects of the local and national economy and will not line the pockets of the Spinless Socialist Administration now occupying the Whitehouse.
    For all the Fools that voted for “Change you can Believe”, How’s that working for you so far?

        Tom Martel, Norman, and Barry — I am a WWII veteran (Yeah, there a few of us still around) and I believe that I swore the same oath you did. But, if my memory is correct, my oath was not to the United States, but to the CONSTITUTION of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I TOTALLY agree with 100% of the comments posted here. God bless Arizona for taking a stand, I will support Arizona based businesses and will boycott anything and everything associated with CA, products services and including movies. We have the most divisive polarizing socialist President and left-leaning government in history. The wind of conservative change is blowing and will sweep them from power over the next two and half years. DC needs to get back to the three R’s, Repeal, Rewrite and Reduce! I am proud to be a legal immigrant, this is the greatest country on Earth, God Bless America!

  • Brooks Catlin

    Why in the hell would LA oppose the Az. immigration laws., that doesn’t make sense? A large part of California’s financial problems stem from their expenses on illegals. If LA and California would adopt similar laws, they could help reduce their budget and reduce crime, or is it that the states wimpy governor is also an illegal?

    • JC

      Brooks, it makes perfect sense when you understand the Globalist agenda of destroying America and American sovereignty.

    • Joyce

      Because they are STUPID!!!
      Hope AZ turns off their power and shuts the whole city down!!!

    • Pat R

      Illegal is illegal. Doesn’t matter what country.
      Mexico is just the majority.

      • Judi

        Exactly. No one understands English anymore. Illegal is exactly that. Illegal. The effontry and indignance I feel when President Calderon blasts us, IN OUR COUNTRY IN OUR CAPITOL is overwhelming. That our President (gotta respect the office, not the man), the Attorney General (ditto) and the Secretary of Homeland Security have all stated THEY HAVE NOT READ THE BILL when simple old me has, is outrageous. These are attorneys and they haven’t taken the time to read 15 pages? What happened to that part of the Presidential oath that states to Uphold and Defend our Constitutuion? I’m blogging here because I wanted to congratulate the commissioner. I’m in California and we’re bleeding $$ because of all the entitlements to ILLEGAL residents. How’s this… read it on the sample ballot… if you’re in California and you’ve never voted before, all you have to do is SHOW A PRESCRIPTION in your name. And the voting worker bees aren’t supposed to ask for your identification. Goodbye, Sweet America.

        • Eric in AZ

          And then run their mouths without knowing what they are talking about.
          Normal proceedure for folks like them.

        • Robert Wayne

          Judi, the fact that there are some reasonable, sensible people like you left in California is the only thing I wouldn’t like to see if Arizona cut the power going west. Also I know there are a lot of handicapped and elderly people in California who have nothing to do with the govt. a**holes who are on the side of the illegal mexicans and against Americans. Those people would really be hurt by cutting off the power too. Right now, the best thing would be to get these lowlife globalists, communists and other assorted left wing whackos who are on the side of the illegal mexicans out of office as soon as possible.

      • Bob Wire

        what you seem to overlook is there are enough “laws” on the books to make “everyone” a criminal already.

        It just at the whims of any government official as to “who” they apply them.

        I think we see the “soft underbelly” of the Tea Party movement reflected in this thread.

        10th and 14th amendment issues answered with a 2nd amendment answers.

        Much as the fresh congressman Rand Paul highlighted over the last few news cycles.

        Interesting to note, Rand Paul was raised in Lake Jackson Texas.

        Nice little place, a time capsule really, rich in the old south and 70 years behind the rest of the world in a lot of ways, a place where everyone knows their place, and stays there.

        I love these areas of my state, they reminded me of all that was good about the way things “use to be” and I find it easy to forget about the bad.

        I’m pretty sure the rest of the nation is not ready , will or prepared to take a 70 year step backwards into the past.

        But! I understand you people willingness to try. It was a special time for many of us, before most of us had TV’s, and one day a week was laundry day. When ice came in blocks and was delivered to the home. When the milkman came and just set it on the porch. When children was fed, watered and sent out to play with threatening words, like ” I don’t want you coming back into the house until I call you for dinner”, “do you hear me son?”

        But that time is gone and will be no more, ever again.

        • JC

      The economy is on the brink of collapse now and the dollar is nearly worthless. And as long as Obama keeps on pushing for more and more worthless fiat currency and higher taxes, the dollar is going to keep on getting more and more worthless. And lastly, when old people raise hell and the health aide doesn’t like it, WET TOWELS SLAPPED ON TO YOU BUTTS LEAVE NO FINGERPRINTS!

      Quote;” Well, we can see that JOE is in the minority here.”

      So true! ~ so what does this mean? Joe is out of place? Joe is out of line?

      I would say, Joe is taking the fight to you ! much like myself.

      Warriors are drawn to the heat of the battle and don’t retreat over “bad odds”

      While I often might agree with many of you and want many of the same things. My mind falls prey to the same knee jerk reaction as I want to act out my frustration and bias.

      But in the end, I think with my mind and place all American’s interest ahead of my own. Knowing that I am only one of many. Knowing that I served and defended this nation with other young men who’s bloodline came from everyplace conceivable, and “many” from Mexico. Have you seen the wall, that black granite wall? My name is not there, if your reading this, yours is not either. But I assure you, you can find plenty of Mindosa, Sanchez, Vargas,Rodriguez and other Sir names listed on that wall of the dead.

      I think some you folks a few bucket shy the respect other people.

      You attack the poor, to cowardly to attack the wealthy, the people truly behind the largest part of this economic down turn.

      Today the GOP, openly defends Wall Street and big banks, The reform offered still fails to have the power to break up big banks.

      Leaving us with the same problem with “Too big to fail”

      Tiger’s don’t change their strips, you “tea party crowd” don’t fool me on bit.

      This Arizonian thing, is a great distraction for what’s happening on Capitol Hill this very day !

      Yum! Yum! eat it up!

      • Kim

        Bob Wire,

        Look at the list of Obama’s czars. Who exactly is protecting Wall Street??? No one is attacking the poor or the legal immigrants from Latin America and Mexico. I am married to a legal hispanic American who also served in Vietnam. Thank you for your service!

        The current government has far loftier and darker plans than any of us fully know. Their true colors are peeking through on a daily basis. Refusal to protect our borders (which, by the way, leaves an enormous security hole) is just one part of the problem.

        • Bob Wire

          Point taken Kim, I feel as the months and battle progress, you’ll see many of these appointments fall to the way side. The pool of talent we had to draw from is dictated time, presence and availability. These dynamic apply to everyone regardless status or position. This administration was created with the same dynamics that created all other that came before. Is that not so?

          So, to some degree ” The Fix” has always been in the mix. I find that most believable and true to form. like it , don’t like it , no matter!

          Wall Street, had only two choices , ~ a winner or a loser. The very nature of Wall Street is to predict a clear winner ! This they did!

          And Wall Street will attempt to protect it’s own interest, this is a given. “and they do! The best they could!

          But let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. To them, this is “damage control” as we attempt to the pull teeth of a biting dog.

          We can’t reject the whole process of government or an administration for “some parts not offering appeal.

          We get into a situation much like trying to define “political correctness” as being some strange notion we might find a way to pick up a turd by the clean end.

          What “is” today, might well not be tomorrow, it’s for us to make it “SO” while avoiding collateral damage, a huge body count and misplacing citizens and latter, hungry immigrants fleeing the carnage of drug wars between two houses and a ineffective Mexican government.

          But we will never make people of color to “just disappear” it’s just not in the cards, no matter how white America would like to be or “thinks” it is.

          People must attempt to see the “big picture”, win the battles that are winnable, choose your battles and choose wisely.

          We get so busy fighting alligators we tend to fail to see the wisdom of draining the swamp.

          And you are most welcome, it was my personal honor to serve, I am “owed” nothing from my fellow countrymen. But I do enjoy my thoughts “considered” as I seek only resolve and resolution in all matters of state and personal freedom.

          • Eric in AZ

            It just amazes me that folks like Bob trust our government to protect us from them. You know the old saying about what insanity is. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

          The Tea Party movement is a United States protest movement that emerged in 2009 through a series of local and nationally-coordinated Tea Party protests.[1][2][3][4] The protests are partially in response to the 2008 bailouts,[5] the 2009 stimulus package,[6][7] and the Democratically-sponsored 2009-2010 health care reform bills.[8]

          What does the Tea Party really want?
          By RICK UNGAR
          In what may be one of the most remarkable polls I’ve ever seen, a New York Times/CBS poll just out reveals the following-
          • 52% of Tea Party supporters believe the amount they pay in taxes is fair.
          • The majority of the Tea Party believes that Social Security and Medicare are worth the cost to taxpayers. ( yea! Because they are the biggest users of these service! A real no brainer)
          • The majority support the amount of money spent by the federal government on defense.
          This must have come as one heck of a shock to the Tea Party leadership who constantly tell us that they would, if given the chance, kill off the Social Security program and other federal entitlements in the blink of an eye. After all, American don’t need to be taken care of by the Nanny State. They can take care of themselves.
          Apparently, the majority of their followers disagree.

          JC maybe it’s you that needs to look around and done a reality check! I’m been bailing water and rowing this bow since 1981 and I see you as only ballast water.

          And this is not the first thing on the list, but only 3rd! ~ The Handlers in charge of “Ditto Heads” have turned you head at a timely point of battle 2. Get your head back in the game being played “TODAY!”

          • Allan

            Don’t you get that conservatives aren’t in it for leader worship?????The reason we support GOP, or Tea Party, or Libertarian candidates against Liberal/Progressive candidates, is that we feel they will best represent our basic principles and way of life. Of course we know politicians lie. Of course we know its usually the lesser of two evils. Both sides lie for personal enrichment, but the difference is one side wants a world where freedom comes with accountability, and the other side doesn’t.

          • JC

            It isn’t “my” tea party…its an American movement. As I said, get with it or get lost.

          actually, I served in the 25 Inf. div. from late 68 to 70 in Cu Chi and the surrounding areas of So. Viet Nam. Made the little Cambodian excursion in a 55 ton RVT, running the front of the column, clearing land mines for smaller equipment and men afoot. To heard them pop under my tracks, hoping and praying to not hit a really big one. Lived on Sprite a peanut butter for two weeks with ever what else I could get my hands on.

          But by all mean, throw your poison, I find it most becoming of you and your twisted notions of freedom and personal liberty.

          The rest of Americans are not like you ! You people are unto yourselves, a noise minority as you will stay.

            And the socialist left is going down in flames watch and see.

          • Bob Wire

            well first, I never was brave, just stupid and young, full of pride that I might be entrusted with such a job as to defend my nation and represent it’s notions of fairness and liberty and justice for all.

            Second, I’m none of the things you suggest and still fight for American beliefs at every level, for the fight is never over but a daily process of living and defending the ideas of liberty.

            For bad things to happen, only requires good people to do nothing or just go with the flow. I’m no shrinking Violet to a good fight. I am guilty of being a part of a lot of bad in my younger years, never thinking things through. That day is over.

          • JC

            Youth is youth and it is part of what makes us who we are later in life. So what delusion did you suffer not to be able to see the immorality of socialism?
            It doesn’t work. It never has worked and it never will work.
            Which part of morality, work ethic, responsibilty, liberty and sovereignty being the American way is it that bothers you?
            I don’t get it Bob, you’ve lived long enough to have learned from your mistakes…and yet you seem to advocate those same mistakes on a national scale. Did you end up hating America as a result of all your experiences?

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

        Bob Wire wake up! Barak Obama and the left are heavily supported by Wall Street and big corporations. Do not fall prey from the political propaganda of the left. They are for power and greed. Miss Ida,
    What is it you do not get about illegal? It means against the law. And if it’s ok for an illegal to do as they please then every law we have here is null and void. And, no, I do not have any illegal doing anything for me. We pay our own way and do for ourselves. I do agree that there are those who complain and then have illegals do for them. Why do you think our congressmen do not want them deported…..they hire them for next to nothing. Illegal is Illegal. They need to come thru the front door like others do. I have friends who have done it the right way and they also agree that those who come from Meheco should do the same. It is a drain on our economy. Maybe you should take some of them in. Jesus never said to disobey the law. They get the chance like the rest of us who obey the law.

    Afirmative Action is racist. Lifetime free medical care and other special privleges for American Natives is racists. Special privleges for Mexicans here either legally or not is racists. Why is it when the mostly white tax paying citizens complain about the inequity that has creeped into our society because of the bleeding heart tree hugging liberals we’re called racists? Should every LEGAL citizen have equal opportunity? Damn right! Emphisis on EQUAL!. Should a minority individual who can’t read well and is otherwise poorly qualify be put ahead of someone else who is well qualified for, say, being a fireman? Hell no! In an effort to equalize American society we’ve diluted it with mediocrity. We’re like the frog happly swimming an a large pan of water that has a small flame under it. What people need to remember is that the old fart himself, UNCLE SCAM, is the core problem in this matter. Has anyone yet noticed how Obummer, the ‘great uniter,’ isn’t doing ANYTHING to solve this crap.
    In fact, Obummer seems to be gambling that this is a win-win for him. What can you say about an incompetent prez who adores ILLEGALS, hates the idea that individual can have RIGHTS, and makes no bones about sucking up to a professional airhead from Mexico who DARES to tell Arizona that it has done something ‘wrong.’
    So how would that twit react to hordes of norte americanos who DARE to cross his border? You KNOW what would happen. Americans would be slaughtered or imprisoned. Somehow, it’s “different” for us to protect ourselves. Folks, ABSOLUTE CORRUPTION in Washington is the source of this insanity.
    As for Californicate, Arnie can take a leap at a rolling doughnut. These retards are DIVIDERS, America. Arizona is trying to protect itself from SCUM who have no use for law and order. SCREW Washington, Arnie and everyone who thinks our laws can be ignored, reinterpreted, revised and manipulated at will.

    • denniso

      Why can’t you try to make an argument w/o calling people ‘scum’???
      You’re so concerned about the law, then why don’t you call people who break traffic LAWS ‘scum’? Has it occurred to you that thousands more Americans are victimized by Americans speeding and running stoplights
      and driving recklessly all over the country, than by all the ‘illegals’? Has it occurred to you and the other members of the screaming mob that millions of Americans are victimized every day by fellow Americans perpetrating identity theft and various scams and white collar crime?
      Can you imagine that all the people who brought about the largest
      economic collapse in 80 yrs and essentially stole trillions of $$ from peoples pension funds and investment accounts are all white American citizens?

      Is it possible that you are being distracted from holding corporate America,the finacial sector and some politicians responsible for our current economic disaster by having your anger diverted toward a convenient scapegoat?

      • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

        Er, Denniso, I hate to tell you this, but most of the bad drivers and speeders on our roads got their first driver’s licenses in Mexico City. Before a suit from the ACLU made them stop mentioning such “racist” statistics, the Arizona state police’s bureau of investigation noted, in their annual crime statistics reports, that 67% of the drug-dealing, car-theft, violent crime, prostitution, kidnapping and — yes — traffic moving violations in this state were done by Illegals.

        Apparently, breaking our laws to get here encourages them to break others once they’re here.

      • JustaPatriot38

        Well, Mr. Denniso, there you go again. Opening your dissertation by trying to equate apples and oranges. ‘Vehicular irresponsibility’ and ‘Invading a Country’ are very different; and then you worry about the word ‘scum’ and what someone calls somebody. Thicken your skin a little! I assume by your rhetoric that you are an illegal alien trying to accumulate as much as you can from our open system before your world collapses. Our Universities now teach people like you that you should ‘work the system’ instead of ‘work within the system’ and that you are ‘entitled’ to live here without working; and the squeaking wheel gets the grease. The work ethic taught in modern ‘progressive’ schools in this country is an absolute travesty! Mostly, they teach hate, discontent and division of country, race and culture. Most people screaming loudly about racism are the most racist of all and have something to gain by it personally. Obama, the long-legged MacDaddy, is certainly not helping this country with his prostitution ring in the White House. For a Constitutional scholar he leaves a lot to be desired, considering his policy actions or lack thereof. I don’t think you are ‘scum’ at all, just misinformed and under educated. I do hope that one day, when your mother runs out from under the porch and bites you on the ankle, that she also informs you who your father is. If you worried less about what people called you and getting run down by a speeding vehicle driven by a ‘terrible’ lawbreaker (which should be arrested by all means), and more about what this country is turning into under the poor administration of Marxists/Socialists, and unprecedented illegal invasion by world class terrorists, Mexican laborers/gangsters, we would all be better off. You don’t like my country being a Constitutional Republic with a decent set of laws, with what is left of a democratic government? One Nation, Under God? Then, my friend, get the hell out! Go somewhere else that is better suited to your beliefs. The US Constitution does not promise you a life, or liberty, and just the pursuit of happiness; life if you desire to live and work here, liberty if you conform to our laws, and the ‘pursuit’ of happiness not that you will achieve it! We work here, we mostly believe in God, we are not divided but united, we are proud, we believe in the ‘land of opportunity’ concept that means you have a chance to aspire to whatever you are capable of achieving. Several of the ‘legal’ minds in corporate/government positions have figured out how to write and use laws to fleece people of lesser education, but they can be controlled if we finally get up the gumption to take them on. There is very little in this world that is worth less than a smart-ass liberal/progressive lawyer or a career politician, and these are the major products of our Universities; how unfortunate.
        Wake up, America!

          What an uninformed rant. If you believe what you wrote,then you’re hopelessly undereducated and destined to stay stuck in your dark cave
          of ignorance. You clearly know next to nothing abuot anything at all…give it up dude. Vote Democratic and keep progress comming. We’ve got a lot of work to do after your buddies Cheny/Bush wrecked absolutely everything.

          • Palin12

            denniso….do you spend anywhere near as much time on any liberal blogs as you do here? The closest thing I get to a liberal blog is Facebook :-) The only reason I see for liberals to come here is to desperately try to make converts of some of us. Well guess what…it ain’t workin’. Early voting primaries here tomorrow. Doing my part to dump Harry Reid.

          • denniso

            I come here to sharpen my skills at debating dimwits and reactionaries. It’s not as easy as some may think,because you people
            say and repeat such absurd stuff that I have to pinch myself often just to remind myself that I’m not in an ‘Alice in wonderland’ play.
            I’m also amazed at times that I’m arguing w/ adults,I think,and not 13 year olds…

          • Palin12

            denniso in Wonderland…go back to your hookah and your magic mushrooms, please! I went to early voting today. There were 6 people in the line in front of me; as the clerk read out their parties (to get the right ballot) NONE of them were demoncrats, not even the Hispanic gentleman in front of me. And look what just happened in Hawaii! You fools are sinking and there’s gonna be hell to pay in November!

          • denniso

            Hookah? Magic mushrooms? You must be confusing me w/ some of your friends…I’m about as clean as the pure driven snow.
            Your ‘representative’ sample of 6 whole people at the polling place is only a bit of a joke.

    • angel-wanna-be

      sc, your exactly right!, infact Bambi’s the one dividing us all on it!_The jackass can’t even help fight for one of his own states. He’s too damn afraid of losing future votes!!!

    • JC

      The Kenyan Imposter is not a “uniter”. And his divide and conquer scheme is backfiring on him hugely. The socialists are in for an ass kicking of biblical proportions in November.

      • denniso

        You people are so extremist rightwing and off your rocker or meds, that you’re scaring normal people. Your extremist shouting and name calling is going to save the day for the Dems this Nov…hardworking sane Americans will not follow people who sound looney…sure,you’ll get your hardcore righties but not the middle of the roaders…you’re
        sowing your seeds of doom w/ your vitriolic and hateful languague and this Nov you’ll be even madder than you are now…I can’t wait.

        • JC

          Flames Denniso…you and your Messiah are going down in flames and it’s already started. Check out the primaries as they come up…”Flames” LOL :)

        • Palin12

          Oh really? In case you haven’t heard, 70% of Americans support Arizona’s SB1070 law. Even Mexican-Americans who came here legally. Obummer is now 0 for 5 in his campaigns for fellow democrats. The dumbocrats will lose the House and then wonder what the hell happened in November.

        • rwnut

          denniso….you won’t go to the leftwing blogs because you have a losing message and you know they don’t want to hear your -ull -hit over there.Something tells me you couldn’t get a dog to stay with your un-american -ss!

          • denniso

            Your logic is impeachable…If I’m a liberal then how would other liberals not agree w/ me? Are you saying I’m not a liberal? Maybe leftwing blogs are actually not leftwing? You’re a bit mixed up,not surprising though.

        • Another American Citizen

          Go Denniso…. I support you all the way !! You tell them ! !

  • refuse2lose

    It’s about time someone stood up to the loony toons in LA.Let’s see how strongly they feel about the legality of the Arizona bill.Will they cut all ties to Arizona and turn the lights out on their poor,poor illegals that are enjoying free room and board?Of course they won’t,this is all smoke and mirrors designed to appease people who should not even be here.

    If you don’t like America,or don’t like the laws that are in place here I suggest you do one thing…….
    GET OUT

  • Deanne

    Go Arizona. LA will be useless without electricity. They think boycotting you is a smart thing to do. Well, it can be a two-way street. I applaude you for having the guts to enact a law the spineless Three Stooges in D.C. are afraid to do. All they want is the Hispanic vote. They will not get back in office without them. I can’t believe the illegals are even allowed to vote. Just like when I lived in Chicago, the thugs had dead people voting for them. And look where Obama is from. I encourage all states to enact the same law Arizona does. Also repeal the health care bill. It is not what the people wanted but what the thugs in D.C. crammed through even though the constituents did not want it. Impeach them all.

  • Patrick T. Holmes

    The 2nd American Revolution has finally started in Arizona. I sure hope this gets traction across this country. Let’s take our country back from illegals and all those who try to change our culture, christian values, and bad mouth the best and most generous country on earth. Give um hell good citizens people of Arizona!!!!!

    • denniso

      Don’t you realize that most of the Mexican immigrants are Christian?
      Shouldn’t that make you brothers in Christ?
      And, don’t you know that most of your ‘Christian values’ were handed down from earlier religions and philosophies? Christianity doesn’t have a monopoly on supposedly Christian values.

      Speaking of Christ, how would he view this anger,unwelcoming attitude and hatred against fellow humans? I rather think he wouldn’t approve of most of the tone and action going on against his children.
      Love thy neighbor as thyself?

      • angel-wanna-be

        Denniso, being a Mexican and Christian has nothing to do with it, being here illegally does, stick to the facts!

        • Allan

          Yes, as I recall. Jesus did not like cheating.

      • Airangel

        Yeah, Mexico, don’t take advantage your neighbors, when you are a guest in anothers home

      • http://nancybowling@att.net Nancy Bowling

        Exactly which Mexicans are you referring to as Christians? The ones who are coming over here illegally or the ones who are doing it right? I don’t remember anywhere in the Bible where it condones breaking the law. Didn’t it say something to the effect, “Give to Ceasar what is Ceasars’ and give to God what is God’s?” Where in the Bible does it condone breaking the law by entering a country illegally? Where does it condone using false identity to obtain government assistance, or food stamps ar free or low income housing? Where does it condone recieving medical help by using either false or stolen ID? Where does it condone stealing from a government and its’ people? I own several Bibles, and many members of my family are missionaries and ministers. Tell us where these passages are, because apparently we are missing them.

      • JC

        Give us your address denniso. We’ll pass it on to the Illegals as a place of refuge where they can get a hug and a cookie.
        And we’ll see if your still alive the next day and if your house is still standing.

    • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

      Beg pardon, but a lot of us American citizens who are concerned with the mess in DC, our collapsing economy, the flodd of Illegals and the loss of our Constitutional rights and liberties are NOT Christians. The first Jews came to America in 1634, plenty of sensible and ethical people are Agnostics, and the Pagans have always been here.

      I’ve come to the conclusion that the real difference between a Libertarian and a Conservative is that the Libertarian will put freedom first, closely followed by justice, while the Conservative will put religious, class and sexual bigotry first. In the coming months we will all have to decide which side of that line we’re on, because the answer will determine whether we win or lose.

      –Leslie < )O(

      • Allan

        Hi Leslie-

        I wouldn’t be so quick to pidgeonhole conservative minds. I am a conservative. I do not put people through a litmus test of religion, class, or gender, because I want them to do the same for me. Although there are exceptions of every stripe, most conservatives I know tend to approach people as I do. I look more at what people do to develop themselves, and how they treat others. I like parts of the Libertarian platform, but think that a pure Libertarian system cannot work due to human nature, any more than a progressive/communist utopia can work. My point is, most people represent an amalgamation of ideas. It is going to take the shared concerns of Conservatives, Libertarians, disillusioned Independents, and even disillusioned Democrats, to stop the global entitlement agenda in November.

      • Sandra

        Sorry Leslie but you’re a bit off. I’m a conservative and I put the Constitution and the law first!

      • rwnut

        Leslie Fish…”There is no dissonance in these declarations.There is a universal language pervading them all,having one meaning;they affirm and reaffirm that this is a religious nation. These are not individual sayings,declarations of private persons:they are organic utterances;they speak the voice of the entire people….that, “this is a Christian nation.”

    California is known as the laughing stock of United States. They are poor because they take care of all the illegals through their school systems. Type 1 schools give the world to illegal kids and the majority of illegal school kids destroy everything handed to them; not even eat the food that is given to them. No wonder CA is broke! Tax payers can only handle so much then there is no more money to “give.”
    Arizona Rocks! I agree with Patrick. “Give um hell good citizens people of Arizona!!!!!”

  • eddie47d

    Economic Terrorism between the States.Gotta love all this insanity. I think Enron tried that in California and made a mess of things. They are now in the dustbin of economic history although several Enron employees did reap millions.

  • Bonnie

    I would love to see AZ cut the power off in LA. I am sick and tired of CA butting in to everyone elses business. This state is falling apart because of their liberal laws and they are $20 billion in debt. Why don’t they fix their problems before they infringe on the laws of other states. Boycotting, violent protesting and pointing fingers has got to stop. This is the Obama Admin at work using their Chicago Thug tactics. Wise up, who do you think is dividing this country.

  • Isirio Abelon

    THANK YOU LORD, I am glad like Arizona has the fortitude to stand up against these invaders and their supporters. GO ARIZONA, “WE” peace loving Americans are behind you, fight for our freedom and for American. ENOUGH… IS ENOUGH…
    LOS ANGELES, FLAGSTAFF, PHOENIX and their supporters are boycotting Arizona in supports of the illegals? WHY!, They are traitor and they should be punish. WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND?.
    WHY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, “DEMOCRAT MAJORITY” are not enforcing the immigration law… please tilllll me why…
    We elect Democrats to run this country, we put them in control since 2006 and we elect a President, hoping the change and hope the President promises during his campaign will change American for the better, but the results is: 180 degress turn compare to what we expected to be; Socialism. Government control, 9.9% un-employment, 500 billion dollars CUT on Medicare, the END OF LIFE CARE as the component of the DEATH PANEL and even go to JAIL if you do not purchase your own health care. YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT WILL PUT YOU TO JAIL?” WOW!!!.
    It’s about time to make another change, get rid of those incompetent Democrats, they fail us, they did not listened to us when we need them. Do the right thing for American on November election. Thank you. Adios.
    SI to Arizona, NO to Democrats.

    PS…OBAMA’S JOKE– “WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN ARIZONA WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE ID, ADIOS AMIGOS”…
    THE PRESIDENT SHOULD SAY, WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN ARIZONA OR ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES WHEN YOU COMMIT A CRIME AND DON’T HAVE ID AS REQUIRED BY LAW, YOU ARE FINISHED, ADIOS AMIGOS.BAMOS.

      isirio,
      Why do you think Obummer stays out of Arizona? They would arrest him for being an illegal cuz he can’t prove he is a citizen!!! He does have one thing in common with God though. Neither one has a birth certificate!!!

  • Jim H.

    If California wanted a TRUE boycott they already would have cut the electrical power themselves. I guess they aren’t THAT serious about it. The power company would probably rather continue selling the power instead of losing money. If it gets crazy, I would boost the price of the power by 1000%.

  • http://www.personalliberty.com bucky 7

    Since many illegal drive without insurance or registration, they may well now become the best of drivers, maybe choose not to shoplift. In otherwords, we may see a slight drop in the crime rate and traffic violations. I just bought three short sale homes in Phoenix. Two of the owners are legal Chines and Indonnesian Immigrants who might look liken illegal Asian Immigrants but carry their driver Licenses and proof of insurance. The third family is African American who look similar to illegal Haitian or African immigrants, but have their DL’s and SS cards handy as well. They will rent from me for two to three years, then buy back at new lower price, thus saving their homes and having to move to another rental. I make a reasonable return on investment and home stabilty is maintained. So…go Arizona and to everyone else supporting Arizona law,
    put some money into the state to help out against this Federal and regional bullying.

    I am 65 and was in the Marine Corps also and so was my Father who is now 90 (he was on Iwo Jima when the the Flag was raised) and along with the Oath that we took we also had a Motto which is “Semper Fidelis” The Motto of the United States Marine Corps. Latin for Always Faithful. Faithful to God, Country, Family and the Corps. and I will live by that Motto till the day that I die.

    If you do any reasearch you will find out that Mexico has stayed neutral in every war that we have been in, and yet they are now wanting us to allow them to be free in OUR COUNTRY, I’m sorry but I can’t agree with that and as far as Arizona’s Law goes it isn’t even close to what Mexico’s Immigration Laws are, why didn’t their President mention how they handle the Illegal issue in their Country?

    Here are a few of them, Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican laws, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Gary,
      Since Obummer and the presidente of mexico don’t support the Arizona law, then let’s just adopt the mexican law word for word and see how Calderone likes that. He has to agree with that since he thinks their laws are ok, right????

  • Mike V

    Interesting how most Californians and some California municipalities do not realize most of them are breaking the law on a daily basis regarding illegal immigration. California’s immigration law is pretty much a dead ringer in language when compared to Arizona’s new law.
    TSK, TSK on those who complain without educating themselves about the new AZ law AND their own laws as well.

    This is just a Red Herring to get constituents attention off of the budget crises/fiasco of LA, San Diego and California as a whole.

    These politicians all protest too much. They are all hiding from their responsability to handle their own affairs which up to now they have performed miserably. Watch what legislation gets passed while our collective eyes are redirected off the ball.

  • Frank the Libertarian

    I am a Libertarian and I support the enforcement of The Arizona Law. I got quite an earful from a few of my Fellow Libertarians. I wont change my position though, I support the law, and support the FREEDOM of AZ or any state to do as it pleases when it comes to how it operates. The problem is that Real FREEDOM is a bit crazy, and it scares most people.
    My Logic regarding the law is this; #1-Its a law(just or unjust) that has been put in place to control “Traffic”. As most traffic laws they are intended to protect and establish safe “flow” patterns and protocals. The Immigration Traffic pattern (like it or not) is being violated and creating unsafe conditions for the immigrants & the residents.
    My Fellow Libertarians (even some democrats & civil rights leaders)have valid arguements but I digress that their ideas no matter how good and Just cannot fit into this situation as it currently stands. We need to stabilize the boarder, and the communities affected, to a point where rational discussion of legislation can take place. Until that time the law should be followed.

    • JC

      Frank, I’m a Libertarian too. It’s one thing to have an open border policy, but its quite another to have the whole thing orchestrated by a group intent on our enslavement.
      I support Arizona and I will support Border Control until we have a lot less government in our lives and a lot more justice to deal with criminals whoever they are and whatever color they are.

    Racism is making a decision based solely on the color of a person’s skin. Racial profiling is based on statistics (the probability of someone committing a crime based on extensive experience). Therefore racial profiling IS NOT RACIST. Anybody who argues that it is either a minority, uninformed, or rather stupid. Arizona or any other state is perfectly within their rights to racially profile hispanics to ensure that they are here legally because hispanics make up over 90% of all illegals in the country. Good for Arizona. Buy Arizona products! Boycott California products until LA gets the right picture. Shut off the power to LA! If Rhode Island has adopted similar laws then good for Rhode Island. Buy Rhode Island products! The rest of states in the US need to adopt similar laws.

  • valricoslash

    Arizon should be applauding LA. Just think of all the money Arizon will be saving when all the illegals move to California. They will be saving millions on medicaid, their crime will go down substatially including murders, and kidknappings (both of which are highly related to illegals)robberies, car jackings, driving without valid licenses, no ato insurance, and on and on….. They won’t to worry about educating them and we wont have to hire bilingual teachers and governemnt employees, etc. I don’t see a downside to this new law.

    And for the people of LA, your costs, and since the Dems are in control of your state, taxes will go up even higher than they are now. Basically LA stands for Leave Arizona.

    By the way, I would love to see Arizona cut off LA’s power. That would be a sight to behold.

    Illeagl= adjective:not according to or authorized by law:UnLawful, Illicit,also:Not scactioned by Offical rulles. Definition by Merriam Webster’s Dictionary.
    It’s not only illegals from Mexico, it’s ALL illegals. Remember 911?
    Everyone was yelling SECURE OUR BOARDERS! Anyone, can come into our country, they just go to Mexico and walk across! Nothing to stop them.
    The world has changed, lets not forget others are still trying to cut us down. We need to stop this nonsense and take our country back. Other countries adhere to theie immigration laws so why can’t we? The other countries are laughing at us. I hope to see our law adhered to but it probably won’t happen in my life time.

  • http://ArizonaThreatensToCutPowerToL.A.UnlessBoycottsAreLifted Gary

    Please don’t blame all of us who live in California, I have lived here all my life and have had to put up with the Illegals for a very long time, I always thought that the People that We Elect are supposed to do what the Majority of the People Want but here in San Diego that is not happening, They took a poll and over 60% support the Arizona Laws, but our City Council still voted to boycott Arizona, and a few years ago the Voters of California passed a law that would not give any help to Illegals, including medical help and it took only one Judge to overturn the Will of the People and say it was discriminating.

  • RV in AZ

    Living in Az. for 35 years, and seeing what illegals are costing us has only been touched. Not only are we paying for their health, schooling,and groceries, what about the cost of our insurance, because of stolen vehicles. Have you ever had your car totaled by a mexican who just droveout of a driveway into you, with no insurance, totaled my jeep ($12,000). Police cited her for accident & no insurance. That is the last I heard, I was stuck with bills. Read some of the police reports in the news. is the names really racial profiling. An I bitter? YES

      We have a sanctuary city here in north east ohio and we are only getting a tiny fraction of what you are. What you just described is why I refuse to go with out uninsured/ underinsured motorist coverage!

  • Charlie in FL

    Let’s see if I have this right…Crossing the border is illegal (in both the US & Mexico), but now it’s OK to break the US law (Prison in Mexico). So now (as an illegal)I have a choice of what other US laws I can break with impunity. This seems to be right so far. It must be, because I do not even have to show a drivers license, registration or proof of insurance when stoppped by the law for breaking the law, if I look Mexican enough – especially if unable to speak or read english. This is all great, right?
    Then, LA. has the stupidity to object to the enforcement of federal law. Cut off their b…. (power).
    Then, most outrageously, the Pres. of Mex, with Obama’s disgraceful encouragement, comes to the US to, MOST HYPOCRITICALLY, considering the Mex laws, damn the new Ariz. law. Shame on both of them. America should be embarrased by our president “appologizing and condeming” America at every turn.
    Go Arizona, and, again turn off the power.

  • Homer

    Look, enough is enough, IF YOU aren’t legal then you ARE Illegal, so you need to get out! Thius land is may land and our land that are LEGAL!! We don’t owe any illegals anything! To all who don’t know; Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is an individual who only shares the interest of Mexican-Americans, Latinos, or what ever. He is one of the strongest PUSHERS OF “LA RAZA” (the race)! He boldly made statements such as “the white people fear you (Latinos, Hispanics, etc). And they should, because we are going to out produce (births) them.” How do I know, check the medias of the last 5 years, plus I was living & working in Los Angeles Area during that time. Oh, by the way, His unique last name was attained when he married wife (Raigosa) and added her sur name to his. Ultimately, she divorced him for infidelity. With those credentials, do you really wonder where this boycott could have originated.

    The socialist state of Kalifornia has run their economy into the ground with their sanctuary cities for these ILLEGAL ALIENS, wasting billions of dollars over the years providing these criminals free medical care, welfare, schooling, housing, food stamps, cars, and a plethora of other free services that it doesn’t even provide to it’s own legal, hard working, tax paying residents.
    It wasn’t 2 months ago that their socialist RINO governor Arnie, was asking the federal government for a bailout. We will have to pay for that with our tax money! The ignorant mistakes that Kalifornia makes affect all of us no matter what state we live in!
    Lets see how long the ignorant L.A. city council, arnie, and their socialist sanctuary cities can last without water!

    Here is the link to Arizona Governor Jan Brewers website. Sign her support petition, so she can show obama and his minions that the majority of American citizens support Arizonas SB1070 and enforcement of our borders. Even if you have signed all the other petitions, you need to sign THIS one.

        I don’t know Joe. It took my info, my dogs, my cats, and I even signed up the neighborhood squirrels too ha ha. If the link is taking you to the Gov. Jan Brewer site, then the link is good. Maybe the site was over run with signers, (too busy) I will go there and see if I can sign up my daughter, and get back to you.

      • Steve

        Joe;
        I just went there and tried to sign my daughter in and I got the message “error, query failed” I did it at 11.15pm Pacific time so I don’t think it would be busy this late. Maybe it will only take one signer per email addy or IP address. Is it possible that one of your family has already signed it from your computer? I know the link is good because it’s taking us to her site. I have already signed it from this computer so maybe it only allows one.

        To everyone on this blog:
        Has anybody here tried, and successfully signed the petition for more than one family member from the same computer?

      • Steve

        Ok Joe, I just sent Gov. Brewer a letter asking about the issue with the petition site, but I probably won’t get a reply till Monday.
        When I get it, I’ll post it here. I hope it’s not a one signer per I.P. address issue. 2.4 kids per family +mom +dad = 4.4 avg. family. If only one is allowed to sign that could cut her total signatures by over 75%. That would not be good.

    Anyone who says that Arizona’s law is all about “racism” or just keeps on playing the race card is just being plain stupid. Contrary to popular belief with the left who typically stereotype all Mexicans as being “brown-skinned”, Mexico is a multi-race country consisting of people with roots in Europe (the Spaniards), Africa, Asia, Native Americans, etc. It is the left who want you to believe that the word “Hispanic” is a race when it actually means the Spanish language (look at the middle syllable of that word). People from Spain are also Hispanic (because they speak the language) and most of them are either fair-skinned Nordic or olive-skinned Mediterranean also found in many other European countries.

    The reason for Arizona’s law is to uphold existing federal laws and prevent border violations. Those who are boycotting Arizona only support ignorance and erasing our borders to just “let them in”. I’d say that since Los Angeles supports border violations and wants to boycott Arizona, then I’d support Arizona “pulling the plug” and leaving L.A. in the dark. I would also boycott the mayors of San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento or any other Mexifornia city who claim that this is a “racist” issue.

    5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

    6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

    7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no “bad-mouthing” our president or his policies. If you do you will be sent home.

    8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

    Harsh, you say ?…

    The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of MEXICO

      Why Yuma Bob?
      Is that one of the cities where the illegals have done the most damage?
      There is one city that they have thoroughly trashed and turned into a carbon copy of Tiajuana(sp) Is it Yuma?

    I like what Arizona has done. Every state in this country has more than enough illegals, I can tell you that from here. We are swamped by illegals because the Mexican president kept pushing people to come over the border into the U.S., if you remember that. And there are plenty of people who want to hire them because they can pay them less than U.S. citizens when they work for them. And now California has added to the illegal problem because they’ve legalized the use of marijuana! And we wonder why the drug cartels are fighting to get their inventory across the border! Yes cut off the power to California Arizona. Let them learn a lesson the hard way. We have a president who won’t secure the border because it “would send the wrong message.” And California has opened up a market for drugs. How much more needs to be done around Arizona to cause them problems?

  • http://jerryebegay@yahoo.com Jerry Begay

    “Right On Arizonians and Americans!” I understand your concern. The problem is NOT the illegals!
    “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD(Psa.33:12).” REPENT!
    The illegals are part of God’s judgment on America! Just as the White
    man was God’s judgment on the American Indians! If we would get right with God, God would close the borders Himself! History does repeat itself! Sad to say, but many are so educated, that they are stupid!
    This country was founded by “MEN’ who believed in God. America does not want God, so God says: “Solve your own problems then!”
    Please listen up Americans, please return to the principles found in
    the word of God(KJV), and God will once again blessed this nation!
    As for me, I am a Navajo Indian, and the best thing that has ever happened to the American Indians is the Whiteman came. Sure many were
    massacred, but maybe they deserve it!
    Proverbs 29:26, “Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.”
    Jeremiah 32:27, “I am the LORD, the God of all flesh, is there anythying too hard for me”
    As for me on this Reservation, I am living the American Dream.
    Psalms 119:99, “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.”
    We as Natives have submitted and now look at us, we have all the freebies and “Thank You” for paying your taxes! I pay my share too.

    “Mexico has an Immigration Problem!”

    While historians can only accurately report on what happened sometimes it’s interesting to consider what could have happened. If Spain and later Mexico had worked with and granted land to displaced American Indian tribes who had settled into northeastern Texas, Mexico could have created a buffer of loyal Mexican-Indians in Texas. By the 1820s when impresarios like Moses and Stephen Austin started to bring European-American settlers into Texas there would have been established Mexican-Indians with title to the land in these areas who would have been loyal to Mexico and would have seen how the US government treated Indians. These tribes could have potentially provided a bulwark against the then future invasion of Texas by European American settlers.
    ————————-

    The Mexican government started using a system of land impresarios (and broker types). Moses and Stephen F. Austin are the most famous. They brought settlers into Texas starting in the early 1820s.

    By 1830 there were 7,000 Anglo Americans as compared to 3,000 Tejanos in Texas. There were also about 2,000 slaves (though slavery was officially banned in Mexico).

    By 1830 the settlers in Texas sent about $500,000 of goods to market per year (most to New Orleans).

    Officially settlers needed to become Catholic and learn Spanish. Stephen F. Austin did this as did many of the early settlers. But as more and more immigrants came they felt less compelled to follow to follow these rules.

    In response to this, in 1830 the Mexican government ordered a stop to immigration but the American immigrants did not stop coming. In fact, in 1830-1834 the population of Americans doubled even with the immigration ban.

    The colonization of Mexico had gotten out of hand—Mexico no longer controlled it. In 1834 the ban on immigration was lifted, mostly because the law was making the government look ridiculous since thousands were ignoring it.
    By 1835 1,000 immigrants per month came to Texas—many didn’t care what the Mexican government wanted. Austin and earlier settlers believed that they got a good deal from Mexico—far better than what they were offered in the US. The new immigrants were posing the problem.

    American racism and even thoughts of independence from Mexico started to appear during these years. American racism was not new and with it came a hierarchy of nations and nationalities with northern European whites at the top. This hierarchical belief also included a belief that any mixing of the races would result in a mongrel people of mixed American and Mexican blood inferior to both.

    This influx of new immigrants as well as growing problems in the Mexican heartland caused Stephen F. Austin and other old immigrants to change their opinion on independence (or at least autonomy). The key factor in switching Austin’s thinking was problems in the central government in Mexico.

    Early Arizona

    The first Native Americans arrived in Arizona between 16,000 BC and 10,000 BC, while the history of Arizona as recorded by Europeans began when Marcos de Niza, a Franciscan, explored the area in 1539. Coronado’s expedition entered the area in 1540–1542 during its search for Cíbola. Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino developed a chain of missions and taught the Indians Christianity in Pimería Alta (now southern Arizona and northern Sonora) in the 1690s and early 1700s. Spain founded fortified towns (presidios) at Tubac in 1752 and Tucson in 1775.

    All of present-day Arizona became part of the Mexican State of Vieja California upon the Mexican assertion of independence from Spain in 1822. The United States took possession of most of Arizona at the end of the Mexican-American War in 1848. In 1853, the land below the Gila River was acquired from Mexico in the Gadsden Purchase. Arizona was administered as part of the Territory of New Mexico until it was organized into a separate territory on February 24, 1863

      And todays history lesson is connected to the problems of the illegal aliens illegally crossing our borders how?

    • tshoot

      Bob,
      The real problem is Mexico is a dump. The place is no better then Ethiopia in most places and is a lawless, crime ridden, murderous society. Just like a majority of Americans, I dont want their garbage here. If you do, then move there. You can recount history all you want. Why did you only go back far enough to bolster your point? You cited historical events to benefit you’re argument just as the people you ridicule about going back to their birthday. You’re doing the same thing. This aint rocket science sharp shooter. Illegals shouldn’t be here—-Hence the term ILLEGAL….

      • Bob Wire

        While you and I might be in total agreement, I believe in some sense of fairness and the fact many were here prior to sovereignty by “whom ever”, border lines draw and laws enacted offers them some consideration.

        We don’t need anymore laws that can’t be enforced. I don’t see how and local border police don’t see how this can ever be enforced, long enough and often enough to make any difference.

        So what we have here, is a “feel good” issue for some to make political hay, and some to divert attention from more pressing matters.

        Don’t get me wrong, I believe some good and some bad will come from it. But I fail to see this, in and of itself as any solution.

        and that’s not rocket surgery!

        As it stand today, we took it from them and they’ve come to enjoy it!

        Now what are we going to do about it? Until brighter minds and greater resolve addresses this issue, it’s little more then a food fight.

        Whatever the final solution, this crowd will not be happy for that’s their nature, to be offended and be unhappy. As this early mindset still applies today (American racism was not new and with it came a hierarchy of nations and nationalities with northern European whites at the top. This hierarchical belief also included a belief that any mixing of the races would result in a mongrel people of mixed American and Mexican blood inferior to both) and this at the “core” of the Tea Party Movement, regardless of what they say. That the very reason why they opposed this administration so! It’s a hard wired issue that only death will resolve.

        I was sent an e-mail a few days back from a friend. In it, it displayed pictures of some god forsaken out back country, a rocky dry creek gully, surrounded with Mesquite trees with trash, clothes and garbage scattered everywhere up and down two yards of gully. It was clear this area had been used as a out-of-sight staging area of illegals making their passage, often and for some time. ~ It read; look what these people have done to our beautiful Arizona.

        While these picture make me wonder; what degree of desperation would a man be exposed too, to make such a pilgrimage with family in tow? To hell with 200 yards of dry creek bed and some trash, 150 miles away for anything. I guess we need to put out trash can for them?

        No ! we need to stop their “reason” to come. While we’ve spent Billions of dollars and boast of “liberating” people that didn’t ask to be liberated in a country on the other side of the globe, we ignore our closest neighbors, neighbors that have blown up nothing! Neighbors that are Christians ( if that matters to you) no Jihad, no 700 virgins horse crap, Neighbors that will work for you, cheap, ~ not drive cabs, not open a convenience store or dry cleaners but get dirty and really work. Willing to work, willing to learn, willing to enlist, willing to serve, willing to die for America.

        Okay, I oversell it some, but I wish to make a point. We have a tendency to look at such matters as assets or liabilities.

        We need to find a way to move them out of the liability column and into the assets column. A big part of this will be a change in perspective and bring them into the system. I hear the moaning already.

        • Cindy

          Bob;
          So you don’t think Arizonas sb1070 is going to work or be effective?
          Apparently a whole lot of people disagree with you, like Obama, the LA city council, all the illegals who have been protesting, plus all of the conservatives in the US which are in support it.
          Obama is pissin and moaning and all worried about how many illegal alien votes he’s not going to have.
          I think you are the only one I’ve seen who has actually said it won’t work.

            Well Cindy, you need only ask the right question to the right people and the hard information will be supplied you. You can’t hide here where everyone, has been bitten by the werewolf and expect normal discussion to occur.

            I’ll try to condense this article to a short, unbiased read for you. My options don’t come out of thin air, but history, personal experience, and the people affected in real time. I’ll leave it for you to decide.

            >>>Facing down the nativist faction is a ragtag, underfinanced, increasingly fearless, and thoroughly working class movement that seeks to destroy SB 1070 and replace the Tea Party’s bogus call for “small government”—by the way, how is a government where every cop is empowered to check your papers “small”?—with a real call for freedom of movement and association. The hope for Arizona rests with this group that is fighting at the grassroots for the freedom to live, love, and work wherever you please.

            One of the first battles between these two forces took place last Tuesday in the small mountain town of Flagstaff, Arizona (population 60,000). The Flagstaff City Council voted 7-0 to sue the state government to prevent SB 1070 from going into effect. (Earlier that day, Tucson’s city council voted 5-1 to do the same thing. Now other towns, such as Yuma and Naco, are also threatening to file an injunction.)

            This decision from within the most nativist state in the nation came as a shock to many. True, Flagstaff has a reputation for being a liberal bubble, but the city council hardly has a stellar record of standing with people of color, as anyone from the Save the Peaks Coalition could tell you. The city council has been hostile to this indigenous-led effort to prevent the local ski resort from using Flagstaff sewage water to make artificial snow on a mountain that is sacred to thirteen tribes. (That’s right, they want you to ski on pee.)

            Further, a poll taken just after SB 1070’s passage showed that seventy percent of Arizonans supported it. And when Rush Limbaugh heard that over 150 people came to the previous Flagstaff City Council meeting urging them to file an injunction, he told his listeners to besiege the Council with calls in support of 1070. Over the next few days, Flagstaff’s little city hall received a slew of racist voice mails and several death threats. Then the local Tea Party put out a call to pack the next meeting.

            But they didn’t count on getting beat at their own game.

            The Tea Party nationwide prides itself on being a grassroots organization feared by politicians. They probably thought that a good word from Limbaugh would help them bumrush city hall and put this whole injunction business to rest. But that was before they met the Repeal Coalition, a grassroots organization that seeks the repeal of all anti-immigrant laws in the state of Arizona and believes in the freedom of all people to live, love, and work wherever they please. (For more on the work of the Repeal Coalition, see my previous article, “New Arizona.”)

            While Limbaugh blathered on, the Repeal Coalition held a mass meeting in the local Catholic church to put pressure on city hall. Sixty adults and twenty kids, most of them Latino, most of them undocumented or related to someone who is, came after work in their McCafe uniforms, bounced babies on their laps, and in a sweltering room for two and half hours, patiently developed a strategy—hashed out in Spanish and English—to keep the pressure on the city council. They planned a protest before the council meeting, and then to pack the meeting chamber itself. The Tea Party boasted it would do the same.

            At 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, people began trickling in to the chambers, while a crowd opposed to SB 1070 gathered on the street in front of city hall. Repeal members handed out scraps of paper to people as they filed in, suggesting that if they spoke before the council during the meeting they should demand that the council condemn SB 1070 and vote to file an injunction against it. By 5:30, over two hundred people were jammed into the council chambers. The room was stuffed so full the fire marshal had to shut the doors<<<

            So ! Who's hiding be the curtain? and if the Tea Party isn't getting it's marching orders from GOP "operatives" who's really stirring these senior WASP up? This is playing with peoples lives is more a diversion really as it takes pressure "off" somewhere else.

            The issue of immigration is for "next years" business. This is but a diversion by out an numbered and failing party that's not getting their way on Capital Hill as Banking Reform is being hammered out. They can't win it but they can divert the pressure by staging a "dress rehearsed" that sure to be a hot potato.

            Don't allow the "news" to make the "news" ~ These WASP are easily lead and excited, Rush, Glen,and Bill work by proxy for the man that stands behind the curtain. Mr. Potter.

          • Cindy

            Interesting story Bob, but how does that small microcosm of illegal aliens change the fact that 75% of Arizonan citizens support SB1070?

      • Bob Wire

        tshoot, Quote;”Why did you only go back far enough to bolster your point? You cited historical events to benefit you’re argument just as the people you ridicule about going back to their birthday.”

        Well tshoot, I thought 16,000 BC should be far enough.

      The Papagos, now known as Tohono Odham were given the choice to move North across the border to live and prosper in the United States. A lot of them elected to stay in Mexico, and later screamed bloody murder when they realized how much they lost by what they selected. Too bad for those Mexican Papagos, they hate that name. But they have managed to still come across to their hospital, shop in the US and receive the annual stipend from the Indian Affairs Bureau, and they don;t even work for it!!! Just add this to your history lesson.

      • Bob Wire

        Hmm? interesting, are they a people still abiding by “the old ways” or just stuck with an earlier decision? You say “their hospital”. Does that mean some still live on the US side of the border? I take it, they do.

    I’m so irritated by all this…I say if the criminal fits the profile – racial profile away…go into every home, camp site, business, desert refuge camps and load them up and ship em back…stop walking around on egg shells and tell Calderon we decided to adopt his immigration law so “with all due respect”, we are returning your lost sheep….I mean serious…9/11 and the bombers are Arab muslims..they are profiled, when we shut down the KKK, they were white…whites were profiled…most illegals in the Southern border states are Hispanic and make up the majority population so Yeah, they will be profiled…it’s a given, get over it. Maybe a more important and necessary “power cut”.

  • Bob Wire

    On a personal level, I’d like to see it happen.

    I want the seen this issue come to a head and let the chips fall where they may. It will be only then, these Rand Paul understanding of personal liberties will be put to the test.

    If an energy supplier is willing to double down this early in a battle of ideas ~ this is a good thing to know early as to later.

    If people would do the “right thing” there would be little need for laws.

    But people won’t, never have ~ and so we have laws to make them.

    He notion of social justice and fairness seem to come straight out of Ayn Rand’s novels. Noble in word but very impractical in application. If everyone were as I, this problems would disappear!

    It’s is old stuff, ~ why is it being brought front and center now as congress hammers out a bill of major importance? My guess is they don’t want the nations attention on them. They’ed rather to worry with this.

    Did it work?

    We forget about the Monroe Doctrine, which when the English wished to be English as a loyalist. President Monroe had enough after our White House was burnt down by the English troops, so he said if you want you can go back, but if you wish to be an American you will abide by our laws, this is not an exact quote, but it is basically how and why the “Monroe Doctrine” was written. Now we have the English off our coast without the slightest remorse about our Land, its called BP
    British Petrolean. One Bunker Buster would end this crisis, instead this problem has been going on for 31 days and no amount of money will ever clean our beaches. What is going on !!!!!!!!!!

    We have lost far too many people, respect for ourselves, and respect from other countries because of drugs and filthy language that this great country as allowed to creep into our most honorable places, not to mention how people think that they can’t control their perverse sexually sickness. If you allow two guys to be together, why not rape, why not everybody get drugged up and sleep with you mama sickos!

    P.S. WAY TO GO ARIZONA

  • jan

    I am from MA and I fully “support” what Arizona is doing for its legal citizens of Arizona. I personally pledge to “boycott” any and all businesses that have chosen to boycott the one and only state with the “guts” to do what all states “should” be doing. As for DC and it’s crooked politicians, they need to remember that it is “we the people” who need to be protected, and not the illegals…

  • Steve

    Has anyone here tried, and successfully signed this petition for more than one family member from the same computer? It is Arizona Gov. Jan Brewers site, and her support SB1070 petition.
    We are having issues with trying to sign more than one family member from the same pc, email addy, or IP address.

    OK……We do alot of bantering on this subject, but WHAT are we going to do about it….Illegals are protesting in the streets, Washington(Obama)is quietly working on granting AMNESTY, ILLEGALS are becoming more BOLD and the press is glorifying them…….ACTION is the next step, WORDS are becoming cheap……Wake up AMERICA….we have been invaded…..

    Do what ever it takes to bring the government into compliance, of the border law to stop and send them back.
    i don’t feel having a baby here should open the door for more to come pilfering in.

  • Colonelphoenix

    Please do not report that AZ threatened to cut off power. What they did do is indicate there would be a contract renegotiation if the boycott is pursued. That only means that CA would have to pay higher rates for taking the electrons necessary for them to not have brownouts because of the tremendous amount of energy needed by the liberal Hollywood celebrities that consmume more than their fair share of our resources.

    • Steve

      ColonelPhoenix;
      Since you mentioned the “Hollywood types” who use MORE THAN THEIR SHARE of electricity, I thought this was a good place to post this.

      “An Inconvenient Truth About Al Gores Inconvenient LIE & His Hypocrisy”! or, “A Tale of Two Houses”

      House #1
      A 20 room mansion (PLUS 8 BATHROOMS) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home.. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern “snow belt” area. It’s in the South.
      ——————————————————————————–
      House #2
      Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.
      The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Waste water from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

      ~~~~~
      HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ;
      it is the abode of the “ENVIRONMENTALIST” AL GORE
      HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford , Texas ;
      it is the residence of ex President of the United States , George W. Bush.
      Can you say Hypocrisy? You know, if you just listen to them speak and accuse, and fault the “other guys” you’d think liberals really we’re for the common man. Then those pesky details come up and THE TRUTH comes out. Just one more “INCONVENIENT TRUTH” about the HYPOCRITICAL LIAR AL GORE! THESE LYING LIBERALS ARE A JOKE, BUT TO ME THE REAL “JOKE” ARE THE FOOLS THAT KEEP VOTING FOR THESE LYING LIBERALS!!
    rob, that is correct, there is illegals in all states. Congress makes more rredundant laws, and never enforce the ones we already have. Enact the law on the books, severely the fining of businesses hiring illegals. This feel good crap of the world will not love us, it wouldn’t be the first time, USA has went it alone. The more appeasers that get elected and the more involvement in the UN, and more control handed to dictators and socialist marxist controllers, the faster we get destroyed. The wringing of hands and wailing, at ther mentioning of ptofiling, mostly it is the pc and the lawbreakers that have meltdowns. When I heer blacks and hispanics, whine they are the majority of prison population. Well a majority of crime is committed by this segment, dumbbutt. It often amazes me when the wimps, get upset when a judgement goes against their wants, they burn their home and dwellings down, after Katerina, look at the ones robbing, looting and going back to the bush attitatudes and steal from other people. I say go AZ. tell Ca., you want to play hardball, get your headgear and padding on bozos! Texas also needs a atta boy, getting books with some real history and facts back in our school system’s books again. The slamming and putting the USA down, has helped make our nation a mess over the years as it is. What group is moaning and whining, it is all the liberals, social correct engineers and victumolgy “minorities” groups. This crap attitude has been going on for over sixty years in our public schools and universities. Now with a muslim phoney Prz who is always putting down our nation, along with a complicite Congress. At least we hope, as I remember my great grandparents who had migrated from germany and Norway, used to say when the pendalum of life, swings too far it will stop and start going the other way. I think I have a idea what they meant!
    Drinking with an Arizona Girl
    A Mexican, an Arab,
    and an Arizona girl are
    in the same bar.
    When the Mexican
    finishes his beer,
    he throws his glass
    in the air, pulls out
    his pistol, and shoots
    the glass to pieces.
    He says, ‘In Mexico ,
    our glasses are so
    cheap we don’t need
    to drink with the same one twice.
    The Arab, obviously
    impressed by this,
    drinks non-alcohol beer
    (cuz he’s a muslim!),
    throws it into the
    air, pulls out his
    AK-47, and shoots
    the glass to pieces.
    He says, ‘In the
    Arab World, we have
    so much sand to make
    glasses that we don’t
    need to drink with
    the same one twice either.
    The Arizona girl,
    cool as a cucumber,
    picks up her beer,
    downs it in one gulp,
    throws the glass into
    the air, whips out her
    45, and shoots the
    Mexican and the Arab.
    Catching her glass,
    setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill,
    she says,
    ‘In Arizona,
    we have so many
    illegal aliens that
    we don’t have to
    drink with the same ones twice.
    God Bless Arizona.
    I’d like to say, you folks are all lathered up over nothing. However, that just wouldn’t be the case. Immigration has been a “HUGE” problem for some time now, 40 years that I personally know of. It hurts everyone but it’s the working middle class that takes it on the chin and carries the largest burden as the supply and demand of labor forces are altered by outside forces not part of any system.
    I only question the timing of this little circus show. I see it more a dress rehearsal of things to come. That this rehearsal initiated by the Tea Party movement no surprise as well, for as “cloaked” as they have attempted to be disguising their motives they harbor strong racial bias and quick to stereotype the poor and non-whites alike.
    But to be political active, you need to have reasons, opportunities and large blocks of spare time. This crowd has all three. If you folks could ever get on “message” with some “angle” of attack that doesn’t reek of racism or behave in some “inclusive” manner, you could be a forced to be dealt with in the near future
    But I don’t see that happening anytime soon, for you carry heavy baggage by many of your members.
    It’s going to be interesting to watch Rand Paul tip toe through the mine fields that lie before him. I enjoy his argument in opposing laws of social engineering, affirmative acting, equal opportunity, etc where the law forces us to “not be blind to race” We are required to count ! so many white ones and so many black ones and so many brown ones. To Keeping in compliance requiring discrimination. Making discrimination the law.
    However, for one country, one nation and one government equal unto all, I see no other way. We can’t police people hearts ~To assure Mankind does the “right thing” you offer him no options on the matter.
    Laws are tricky things, much like a double bladed knife, they cut both way.
    Be care with what you wish for, you might get it.
      Bob wire,
      you know, every picture of the TEA party I have seen shows people of every culture and color!! I’ve been to one meeting and saw exactly that as well. The pictures that have been shown even on lib TV news shows the same thing. your racist comments are outright lies!!!
      • denniso
        The immigration issue is a huge distraction perpetrated by corporate interests and some politicians like the AZ governor for political gain. It’s also being hyped as a way to attack Obama for the coming election,when the problem existed under Bush for 8 yrs and
        not a whole lot was made of it then.
        It’s a distraction from much more serious problems like the crash that started under Bush and the crimes of Wall St,and now the disastrous oil gusher under the sea that is inflicting more economic harm than all the problems associated w/ illegals,not to mention the
        terrible carnage inflicted on the animals and plantlife for years to come.
        The exploitive politicians and corporate powers have successfully whipped the mob into a frenzy for their own benefit.
    I guess another little known fact is what happens in Mexico if you are there in their country uninvited. They throw you in prison then throw away the cell so to speak. And I guess Mexican Federales don’t profile you as an American in their country. Bologna.
    I work with a couple of people who were driving around in Mexico and they got pulled over multiple times because they had US plates.
    All police are currently going through training in AZ on how to handle themselves when the law here in AZ goes into effect.
    This was a post I found about how Mexico handles illegals from south of their border.
    Hi,
    My experience is that if you cannot produce a valid visa you are immediately taken to the nearest office of Migracion and jailed there with all of the illegals from Central America.
    You may be allowed to make a local call to the Consulate of your country of origin or to a lawyer or other person.
    People from Central America are processed and generally taken to the Border with Guatemala and released. Guatemala may also have a processing system. It is no picnic. If you are an American my understanding is that you are given a period (perhaps 24 hours) to return to the US. If you are Canadian or European, I have no idea.
    Coming from the north, getting a visa is no problem. If you fly in, visa requirements are taken care of by the airline about an hour before you land. Crossing the border illegally? You may not ever be checked for a visa. However, in some parts of Mexico, especially in Chiapas on the southern frontier, you will be stopped regularly by the Mexican Army and required to produce valid documents.
    If you take a job, the question of a visa might not ever come up. But, in view of the wages, why would you take a job here? Minimum wage is about 48 pesos and change a day.
    There is no advantage in flouting the immigration laws here. In the US, there is a great advantage to take the chance. You can’t get in the “welfare” system here without proper documentation. Mexico is way ahead of the US in this area.
    Also, Migracion here operates under, what I understand to be, the strictest system in the Americas. It is easier for one to obtain US citizenship or work visas than in Mexico.
    I’m sure that there are people on this board who are very knowlegeable on this subject.
    I was imprisoned in Mexico on bogus charges (Generic Fraud) for about 2 months and when I was released, Migracion was there to take me directly to the jail in their offices where I stayed for 3 days and told that I would definitely be deported. I wasn’t. My attorneys took care of getting me out and my students paid the bail (about $600.00 US) so that I could fight the penal aspect of my case and the problem with Migracion.
    As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been absolved (found totally innocent) and will recover my passport and renewed visas.
    It has been a long and costly process. If you are North American there are many people in power who will try to make you pay for all of the perceived injustices of the US against Mexico. Racism is alive and very well here.
    Also, a lie is not considered to be much of a sin here. People will lie to get you in trouble and to keep you there. And, this is not just a fluke. There is a lot of ill will here toward non-Mexicans.
    That said, I choose to live and work here. My students and my son who is Mexican make it all worth the effort. At 57 years of age I am starting again from the bottom. Well, not so. I have a lot of support from a lot of good people and my business survived and is taking off.
    This is a fine place to live but it ain’t the O.C.
    To sum up, what is occuring in the US would not be tolerated here. Well, that ain’t so either. It happend to Mexico in the Great State of Texas. And I am a Texan (Tejano). Love Texas. People will take advantage whenever they can justly or injustly.
    What works in one country or culture won’t necessarily work in another.
    Marcos
    I think Mexicans are hipocrites.
  • Bob Wire
    very good ! an t5hat’s the way it works.
  • Cherry Payne
    http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004869.htm
    Check out this link as well. Every state has requirements to show some form of id if a policeman asks for it.
    The law in AZ states that you can only be approached if you are breaking the law for the new AZ law to be used. I am an AZ citizen and if I am pulled over the first thing I would have to produce in my AZ drivers license and proof of insurance. This has always been the law in pretty much all 50 states. If anyone is in a state where that isn’t the case I would like to know where that would be.
    The illegal aliens who are crying fowl remind me of the way kids behave when they break the rules. They try to throw you off by complaining how unfair the rules are.
    Another situation her in AZ that is more common because of how poor the economy here is Mexicans staying in abandoned houses of which there are many. I think the real reason they are complaining is that we are replacing our lawns with gravel yards so there are no more jobs here. That is by in large what most of the illegal aliens do for a living here. There is no more fruit to pick because machines do that. By the way that puts all farm hands out of work, not just Mexicans.
    Bashas got caught having a large number of illegal aliens on their payroll and the next day all kinds of people were their hoping to get a job. Don’t ever tell me Americans don’t want to work. In my family we have 4 out of 5 people out of work and they are doing all kinds of odd jobs just trying to make ends meet.
    AZ is one of the few states that borders Mexico anyone not in the southwest has no right to comment on what we do here. No one from Canada is trying to come here illegally so the Northern states don’t have to deal with that issue.
    My son has been working for a coroner in a hospital here and they are finding children’s bodies cut open after they have gotten across the border by drug dealers to get the drugs they have placed in their bodies for what they call camels.
    There are bodies found burned in the desert here with their fingers cut off, killed execution style by the coyotes(people who make money bringing them across the borders).
    You won’t hear about that in the news because no one wants to hear the truth about what is happening here. I feel sorry for these Mexican people I really do but coming here illegally is not the answer.
    My doctor also has had to deal with the first case of leprosy from someone from Mexico here as well. What I want from anybody who wants to come here is a clean bill of health and a background check for any crimes committed that should prevent them from even visiting here.
    Come here legally and I would welcome you here. Become an American citizen and I would welcome you as a citizen but only if you come here legally and request permission to enter my country.
  • Charley41
    I’m in Oregon and I was stopped by trooper and after I showed ID and Ins. and reg. I was informed In OR. I had to have plates on the front and rear of vehicle. So much for those worried about excuses such as stopped for tail lite or etc. I did’nt mind cause I had nothing to hid. The AZ. law is less strict than the Fed. law. The Feds just don’t enforce it. Latino’s you just trying to stir unrest so you can start your planned Revolution…
  • Bob Wire
    No doubt about it Cherry. We are not treated well in Mexico. I carry money in three places whenever I’m there. But I’ve quit going, it’s too dangerous anymore.
    the shakedown has always been constant. Requiring me to hide money in three places
    the smallest amount in the wallet and the amount changes with where I put it, the “roust” is unending, from taraffio to policia to the merchants. I travel with insider friends most of the time and carry a “get out of jail free card” ( politically heeled) I’ve always considered “Justice” more affordable in Mexico. ( but it’s not bullet proof)
    But this has changed of late. I feel for these people, there are many nice people in Mexico. Their country is being torn apart.
    >>Chuck b ask , “do tell me what reeks of racism and how do they behave in an inclusive manner?? what is this heavy baggage some of them carry? we are in the same opinion our current government is a failure and the president (your president) is inept to say the least. most of the congress is corrupt and needs to be replaced, i might add the demo’nistas are the majority so they carry the largest burden of corruptness.
    My question; Who is of “the same opinion”? Who is “we”? My President? ,~ are you a North American? Failure? Describe this failure please.
    Cindy say; “Obama is pissin and moaning and all worried about how many illegal alien votes he’s not going to have.” Response ; when has non-citizens every voted?
    I41 says; When I heer blacks and hispanics, whine they are the majority of prison population. Well a majority of crime is committed by this segment, dumbbutt. It often amazes me when the wimps, get upset when a judgement goes against their wants, they burn their home and dwellings.” Response; stereotyping at it’s finest, regardless how accurate. and yea! burning makes little sense even if it’s your neighbors! This is the results of frustration and no voice is my best guess.
    Colonel say; “because of the tremendous amount of energy needed by the liberal Hollywood celebrities that consmume more than their fair share of our resources.” Response; yea! And I bet they use more toilet paper too! But at least they are not stealing it!
    Rhonda say;” If you allow two guys to be together, why not rape, why not everybody get drugged up and sleep with you mama sickos!” Response; where did this come from? But I agree with Rhonda, drugs undermine the fabric of “any” society . But I’m not sure what “two guys” she’s referring too? Them! And just not “us” I suppose.
    Airangal say; “I’m so irritated by all this…I say if the criminal fits the profile – racial profile away…go into every home, camp site, business, desert refuge camps and load them up and ship em back”
    Response; fine with me, but how do find this “criminal” to start this process? Appear to be just brown and round?
    This copy & paste is the baggage and straight out of 50 year old history books; “American racism was not new and with it came a hierarchy of nations and nationalities with northern European whites at the top. This hierarchical belief also included a belief that any mixing of the races would result in a mongrel people of mixed American and Mexican blood inferior to both.”
    I41 says; “I remember my great grandparents who had migrated from germany and Norway, used to say when the pendalum of life, swings too far it will stop and start going the other way. I think I have a idea what they meant!”
    Response; Black Dutch myself, ( meaning, “German Protestant” and your Grand Parents were wise and offered wisdom before you could perceive it. And it’s so, after a lot of “right” we can expect some “left” to stay on the road. Mine told me, before you marry a woman, you better like her mother! For that’s what you’re getting in abundance.
    “GOOD SIR,I ADDRESS YOU AS SUCH FOR YOU DID SERVE THIS NATION,AND YOUR RECITIAL OF HISTORY IS PERFECT,BUT I ASK YOU TRUTHFULLY,LOOK AT MEXICO CLOSELY ,DRUG GANG WARS,A CORRUPTED GOVERNMENT,POVERTY,AND A INTERSTRUCTURE THAT BORDERS CHAOS.WHAT GOOD DID THE MEXICAN PEOPLE EVER RECIEVE FROM THEIR OWN OFFICALS,BUT AS YOU POINTED OUT WE DID THE SAME THING ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO,BUT THE DIFFERANCE IS WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BUILT FROM THE LANDS ,A NATION WHERE EVERY PERSON ON THIS GOD GIVEN WORLD COULD BUILD THEIR DREAMS,THE ONLY DIFFERANCE IS THEY CAME HERE LEAGALY,AND HAD TO ASSIMULATE AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE OF THEIR NEW HOME,”
    Response; point taken . I guess my question would be, Why does Americas closest neighbors deserve less attention and consideration then the “Iraqi and Afghanis”? Since we seem to all agree, they affect the very core of our society? We are victim’s of our own poor spending habits.
    I support what 1040 is wanting to achieve, but I feel it will create more problems then it will solve.
    Why not just create a task force and administer the law in a civil, humane and professional manner for 30 days and sent the FED the tab?
    Whats so hard about that? This state can “float” a task force for 90 days?
    Why new laws that diminish everyone’s liberties? You are shooting yourself in the foot!
      Cindy say; “Obama is pissin and moaning and all worried about how many illegal alien votes he’s not going to have.”
      Bob Wires Response ;
      when has non-citizens every voted?
      Cindys reply:
      Well Bob, when has an illegal alien (non citizen) ever had false id? Answer: ALL THE TIME, they all do. Most have two sets of fake id. Once they have that, it’s easy to get the voters id card. Chances are you’re not going to wake up until the illegals invade your little corner of the world.
      • rwnut
        Cindy….He conveniently won’t remember that Micky Mouse,dead people,and dogs voted for the Demo’s.And they voted early and they voted often!
    Arizona also controls most of Californias water…Lets not insult them with OUR Arizona water…
    • denniso
      Your water?? Most of ‘your’ water comes from colorado,Utah and New Mexico…should those states shut off the tap to you? It is a shame for the rivers,Colorado,Salt and Gila,that you drain a good part of them dry for your development of artificial lakeside communities in Phoenix and for sprawing growth in Tucson and Phoenix.
      • JeffH
        ..don’t forget the poor little “Delta Smelt” that are used as an excuse to cut the water off to central California farmers…the horror of it all…the horror
    its hard to confer with someone who speaks in circles. everyone is wrong and a racist except you.
    why don’t we give mexico the same consideration as the middle east? whats that supposed to mean? you want us to lob a few misssiles at them?
    this pussy footing you advocate is the very thing the politicians do and thats why the country has this illegal problem,
    it doesn’t take a task force of mush heads to figure out what to do. just abide by the federal immigration law on the books, we don’t need an amnesty reform, that is nothing but a coverup for legalizing millions of illegals. the u.s. tried that before and it failed. send these people back, to the carribean, mexico and latin america. at the same time ship barry soetoro back to indonesia or kenya where he belongs. if the mexicans want a settlement and we capitulate, give them so. calif and the 50 miles radius around s.f if they promise to take pelosi.that would solve the problem for the nation. waxman, feinstein, boxer and arnie would be part of the package, no deal unless they are included. wouldn’t it be funny if this came to be and peolsi got caught sneaking into the u.s. illegaly. lol
    Arizona,I love you! I sure wish you could pull some kind of plug on Sacramento! Did anyone come up with any ideas on what we can purchase from Arizona instead of Kaaleeforneea?
    The United States is a sovereign nation, not a subsidiary of Mexico , and its taxpayers are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico ‘s citizens.
    It’s time for the Mexican government, and its citizens, to stop feeding parasitically off the United States and to start taking care of its/their own needs.
    Too bad that other states within the USA don’t pass a law just like that passed by Arizona .
    Maybe that’s the answer, since our own Congress will do nothing!
    Here are MEXICO’s Immigration Laws: So they can’t reasonably be surprised by ours.
    1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
    * * * * * * * *
    2. All ballots will be in this nation’s language..
    * * * * * * * *
    3.. All government business will be conducted in our language.
    * * * * * * * *
    4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
    * * * * * * * *
    5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office
    * * * * * * * *
    6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
    * * * * * * * *
    7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
    * * * * * * * *
    8. If foreigners come here and buy land… options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
    * * * * * * * *
    9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
    * * * * * * * *
    10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted and when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.
    * * * * * * * * *
    Too strict ?
    The above 10 laws are the current immigration laws of MEXICO !
  • JeffH
    …lest we forget…all of the “terrorists” from the middle east that use the southern borders to “sneak” in this country illegally. That is for all the bleeding hearts that have decided that the illegals we speak of are only Mexicans…
    Here in the great state of Texas we have similar legeslation as AZ in the making. If it passes as I believe it will , I hope Los Angeles boycots Texas. We will join AZ in boycoting CA. Let`s see if CA can live without lights and gasoline.
    • JeffH
      John Welch, heck, I live in central California and I agree with you. We’re activly trying to turn this state around, if that is even possible, and rid our state government of the job killers running this nuthouse. As they say…”turn out the lights, the parties over”.
    I just want to clarify that I, and 100% of the “conservatives” and “independents” on here are not anti-Cali, or anti-Cali citizens.
    We are just anti-Cali government, anti-arnie the r.i.n.o. gov, and anti-L.A. city council that started the boycott against Arizona. I am only 30 miles from Cali, so their economic ignorance affects me too.
    Subject: Channel 2 in Atlanta knows why Arizona passed SB 1070
    You really have to watch these two videos quickly before they expire. I don’t know how long TV stations keep these available.
    According to the Border Patrol the public is being mislead as to WHO is coming into the US from Mexico . This IS THE TRUTH. as reported by WSBTV in Atlanta . (a reputable public news! Not ‘Tea party’ or any other special interest group!)
    Video 1 http://www.wsbtv.com/video/23438021/index.html
    Video 2 http://www.wsbtv.com/video/23438712/index.html
    • GregS
      Excellent videos, Valerie! Thanks for posting this. I will pass these links on to others. EVERYONE should see this, especially those who try to boycott Arizona.
  • Connie F
    I think it’s time we all stand up with Arizona and take a United Stand against the illegals who are taking our jobs, government monies, etc. “You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.”
    My understanding is that Arizona is implementing what the feds are shirking–THE LAW!
    To those who want to boycott Arizona-SHAME ON YOU!!!
    • GregS
      Amen Connie! The lefties on this site (e.g. Denniso in particular) have thus far not responded to any of these issues that many of us have raised about illegals in this country. Instead they use tactics and terminology (e.g. “racism,” “racial profiling,” “going after a group of people who mostly don’t harm anyone,” “problem existed under Bush,” etc.) to lead the discussion away from these issues. They even accuse us of “being reactionary,” when it’s actually those who boycott Arizona who are “being reactionary!”
      • denniso
        I’m saying that you are being used to score political points by corporate interests and some politicians who also want to distract us from the much more serious problems facing us and want to avoid responsibility for their actions in getting us into the mess we’re in.
        I’m also saying that the immigration problem has been around for 50 yrs and now suddenly it’s obama’s fault…isn’t it obvious to you people that it’s being used as a political weapon?
        I know as well that there is a racial element involved among some of the most strident people condemning a whole class of people as scum,cockroaches,rats,vermin…I’t also clear to those who are not blinded by anger or hatred that laws like this can and will lead to
        a greater police state mentality,and we have too much of that already.
        It’s ironic that some of the loudest shouters also decry the increasing power of gov’t over our lives…do you think that giving the cops more power over personal lives will be confined only to ‘illegals’?
        The solution to the problem of too much illegal immigration is to fine large employers for hiring ‘illegals’. Create a system where migrant workers can come and go and still pick your crops for you and
        keep your food prices cheap…forget about the ones who dig ditches and build rock walls and clean your motel rooms.
        • GregS
          Denniso,
          1. “…politicians who also want to distract us from the much more serious problems…and want to avoid responsibility for their actions in getting us into the mess we’re in.”
          - Are you saying that the governor of Arizona is trying to distract us from more serious problems? Are you saying that her actions got us into “the mess that we’re in?” How exactly did she do that? What could be more serious than terrorists coming into Arizona from Mexico (Take a look at the videos referenced by Connie F above.)?
          2. “..now suddenly it’s obama’s fault.”
          - I’m not blaming Obama for this. It’s HIS REACTION to Arizona’s law that I have a problem with.
          3. “…there is a racial element involved among some of the most strident people condemning a whole class of people as scum,cockroaches,rats,vermin…”
          - It’s the terrorists and criminals that get into this country illegally that are viewed as “scum, cockroaches,” etc., NOT a whole class of people. Again you are trying to make a racial issue out of this.
          4. “I[t's] also clear to those who are not blinded by anger or hatred that laws like this can and will lead to a greater police state mentality.”
          - I’m not “blinded by anger or hatred” for these people, but I don’t have a problem with having to show my driver’s license when being stopped by a police officer.
          5. “…do you think that giving the cops more power over personal lives will be confined only to ‘illegals’?”
          - If an increasing numbers of terrorists and criminals are getting into our country without this new law, this becomes a moot point. Again, check out the videos in Connie F’s post above.
          6. “The solution to the problem of too much illegal immigration is to fine large employers for hiring ‘illegals’.”
          - The problem isn’t with just the “large employers.” Illegals are everywhere.
          7. “Create a system where migrant workers can come and go and still pick your crops for you and keep your food prices cheap…”
          - Many unemployed people who are here LEGALLY would appreciate having one of these jobs, just to have a job.
          • GregS
            I mistakenly gave Connie F credit for the videos referenced above: It’s actually Valerie’s post.
          • denniso
            The gov of Az is just another political hack who wants to win election in Nov. She’s found an issue that can help her do that.
          • GregS
            Denniso, if the governor of Arizona is your definition of a “political hack,” then I hope we get MANY HUNDREDS more “political hacks” like her in November! At least she takes action on issues which are of concern to the VAST MAJORITY of LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS in this country!
        • rwnut
          denniso…Who said it’s suddenly Obama’s fault? That’s a leftwing tactic you’re trying to reverse on us.We left Bush for his open borders and amnesty policies. Those “personal lives” you’re afraid are going to be profiled,are killing cops and border patrol agents,as well as citizens.GET YOUR -HIT STRAIGHT!
        • rwnut
          denniso…”Here comes the orator! with his flood of words,and his drop of reason!”
    I am not from Mexico,but when all of you people refering to Mexicans is not just illigal Mexicans it could be illigal Chines,Russians Koreans,just because Mexico is border whith US most af all country’s get a visa to Mejico and trampoline to get here. besides all this. Ask yourself, Who? is going to clean your toilets for the minimun, go to the farm and pick straberry’s for the minimun just remember who where the first slave,second slave and now.you dont see a White, or Black person doing this work.Besides Arizona ,California,Nuevo Mejico,Colorado it was Mejico not Mexico or New Mexico. If you guys call yourself cristians or son’s of God where is your humanity.
    • American Citizen
      Illegal is illegal is illegal. It’s a fallacy that illegals do the work that Americans won’t do. Our teens can’t find work due to the illegals taking those jobs. Our teens worked in the cornfields around here detassling. It’s hard, hot work and they are glad to get the jobs. It’s the fact businesses don’t want to pay prevailing wages, they’ll gladly pay those illegals under the table and under pay them to boot.
    • rwnut
      Maruca…..If you’re legal,good for you. If you’re not,get the hell out! God also says to obey the laws of the land. If you’re American,show me your assimilation! You don’t want assimilation,you want a takeover!
    • Oh Please…
      Maruca…..you are right in that it is not just Mexicans who come here illegally but you are wrong about what citizens would be willing to do for work. Many already hold crappy jobs for crappy wages because they have bills to pay and enough pride to want to work for what they have. Clean toilets??? Honey….I have cleaned adults backsides/dirty diapers for some pretty pathetic pay in my past (with both black and white co-workers alike). Unfortunately there is no incentive for some greedy businesses to raise wages as the cost of living go up because it is more profitable for them to pay low wages to illegals who will take anything because they ARE illegal. This will NEVER change if not addressed and it is UNFAIR to all those who are LEGALLY here. As far as everyone’s ‘humanity’…well feel free to keep your judgements to yourself. As a strong nation, America repeatedly has thrown financial and humanitarian support to other countries but in case you have not paid attention lately our debt is soaring and LEGAL citizens are having problems finding jobs, keeping their homes, feeding their families, affording healthcare…..all with the threat of additional taxes looming over their heads. Without even getting into the crime issue, why is it so hard for you to see that our economy cannot support the continued flow of illegal immigrants? How much humanitarian assistance, financial support do you think America will be able to provide when we collapse?? And when we DO collapse financially from following the warped ideas of those who oppose following the law but support amnesty…which country do you think will jump in then to give as much then?
  • RAGAN
    ARIZONA YOU ARE COURAGE AND RIGHT. PEOPLE WHO WORRY ABOUT RACIAL PROFILING, BUT NOT THE CRIME THAT HAS BEEN COMMITTED WITH DRUGS AND ABUSING SOME WHO CROSS THE BORDER, PLUS THE EXPENSE ON AMERICAS WHILE THEY TAKE JOBS AND PAY NO TAXES. IT IS HORRIFIYING TO THINK THIS COUNTRY HAS LET IT GO THIS LONG. CALIFORNIANS WHO DON’T LIKE WHAT ARIZONA IS DOING SHOULD MOVE TO MEXICO.
  • Deborah
    I stand with Arizona!
  • Mace Windu
    I stand with Arizona & any other state considering this type of law. Yes the feds need to ‘man-up’ and do what they are hired to do…protect the American, taxpaying citizen! Take away all the things that these undocumented, criminal border crossers come here for. Education system, healthcare, jobs, etc. I believe another law is what is needed. Anyone who is caught & convicted of employing an undocumented person shall receive a “no appeal”, mandatory, hard-labor 15 year federal prison sentence. A second offense will put you behind bars for life! No tax funded education, healthcare…anything for these illegals, period (well, maybe drinking water)! Immediate deportation of border offenders and slap their country of origin with the bill instead of burdening the American taxpayer. While we are at it, eliminate the “anchor baby” law. Adopt these policies and the numbers across the borders will start to trickle down…there will not be anything for them upon arrival to stay here for.
    You say these are harsh proposals…consider what we have already seen as far as how some countries deal with people who violate their borders:
    Cross into Cuban airspace – http://www.cnn.com/US/9602/cuba_shootdown/index.html
    Cross into North Korean waters -
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1279828/North-Korean-torpedo-DID-sink-Souths-navy-ship-propellor-lettering-proves.html
    Cross into other places in the world, and you run the risk of never to be heard of or seen again -
    What is happening in reality; why the diversion to immigrants? Take a wild guess. Someone wants a diversion or fight rather to take the eyes of Americans off of what is really happening.
    Arizona, your rudeness besets you.
    Climb the ladder so that your view is unobstructed, then, get out your “binos” to take a good look and see where we are headed next. It’s time to get “in” and tie it up, so America doesn’t slip down the economic crash tube.
