Are We On The Verge Of An Obama Great Depression?

March 22, 2012 by

“America’s always been a land of boom and bust. It’s just part of the natural business cycle,” says Wayne Allyn Root. “But Obama and his socialist cabal have channeled Hoover and FDR, who turned an ordinary bust into the Great Depression.” Root ponders whether Obama understands what he’s doing and asks: “Does it matter?”

Wayne, I like you but to blame just Obama? I understand and agree that a great start would be to rid ourselves of this POTUS. We have much worse problems at hand to simply make this a partisan issue. It’s ok to say whom we should get rid of but lets not pretend it would be any different with the current choices for whom the establishment republicans are. It’s obvious that they care not of who or even what is in office, left or right, because they all represent the continuance of the status quo. The only thing they care to do is to make sure Ron Paul has NO shot at getting the nod. He’s the ONLY one that stands to smash EVERYTHING they are, want and represent. Smashing the lefties and talking about what to do is fine but lets talk about who would actually do something different. We all know who doesn’t and won’t.

When the great depression unfolds with Obamas 2nd term, those on foodstamps will be conscripted to FEMA slave camps to pay for themselves — its in the law just signed by Obummer. They will work on farms, government projects for that food right after they are chipped like cattle.

Business and assets will be confinscated for the good of the country (yea right), like farm land and the people moved into tightly controlled cities, once in the city they will be chipped and assigned work or not eat or sent to FEMA re-education camps– read it in AGENDA 21 or as its called Sustainable living acts.

If you dont take the chip you will not be able to buy, sell, work or eat, cash does not exist.

Lucifer comes to give to us the final gift of wholeness. If we accept it then he is free and we are free. This is the Luciferic initiation. It is one that many people now, and in the days ahead, will be facing, for it is an initiation in the New Age.–David Spangler

Interesting post and I know you have said it before. Scarey stuff. I have to continually remind myself that God Almighty is still in charge.

One part did make me chuckle. When you mentioned that all the parasites (my word) will be required to WORK. It put me in mind of Maynard G. Krebs. WORK?! What a cultural change they are facing after several generations of living off the producers.

If all economic indicators were calculated today as they were during the ‘Great Depression’, they would show that we already are in the ’2nd Great Depression’, but Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton changed certain factors in the way they are calculated, so as to not make their recessions look as bad as they really were, but it didn’t get Jimmy Carter re-elected, and Bill Clinton lost both houses of Congress during his 1st mid-term elcetions, from Democratic control to Republican control, and in the case of the House of Representatives, the 1st time in over 40 years the Republicans controled that branch of the government, which they held both houses of Congress the remaining 6 years of Bill Clinton’s Presidency, ergo the reason Bill Clintons administration went form a recession to a booming economy.

        Correction: for Wayne Root

In 1929 the United States was on the gold standard. ( yup sound money )
In 1929 the United States held 75+ per cent of the World’s Gold Reserves.
In 1929 the Federal Reserve Board did not set national monetary policy.
In 1929 FDR was NOT president.

Yet the CRASH which precipitated the GREAT DEPRESSION happened anyway.

It’s cause was speculation ( yup capitalism ) combined with low margin requirements, which
created imaginary wealth and increased the velocity of money… this case, fractional reserve requirements + further credit thru low margins.

The state of the world economy was also in disarray, with Britain struggling to return to the Gold Standard, Germany an economic basket case struggling with reparations, and the French exploiting it’s rather serendipitous fortune in making the correct strategy choice regarding it’s own currency, adamantly maintaining it’s position on German reparations,
and suffering like Britain, from it’s own war debt to the United States.

Capital there for was drawn to the arena of best possible return, further inflating the speculative bubble that was the U.S. Stock Market……which was further exacerbated by excess liquidity of low interest rates and minimal oversight. ( yup- none of those pesky
        regulations )

Mr. Root’s further litany of citation’s and comparison’s between then and now seem to imply
a causal connection between the problems he cites ( and which need to be addressed ) and the solutions to which he alludes, is unfortunately as naive and illogical as his attempting to identify the current administration with the dreaded ad hominum description of
( oh my god, not that ) SOCIALISM.

Yet, the CAUSE of our present situation, is the same as the one his rather selective history
has neglected………CAPITALISM. This term, of course has suffered somewhat from it’s own
convenient deconstruction from it’s original meaning, private ownership of the MEANS OF

There is little connection if any between financial speculation and profits created from
actually producing something of value. Yet this bubble not only contained the elements involved in 1929, it also added several additional accellerants to the velocity of capital,
through securitization which returned capital to the original source (banks, lenders) faster,
and the creation of derivative instruments, which created IMAGINARY WEALTH, which
had absolutely no connection to anything that could be described as substantive.

All of this was accomplished by the removal of regulations, not caused by them…….and given human nature with each individual seeking to maximize advantage, and the fever pitch of irrational exuberance……the end result was inevitable. ( the final stage of this was
who was going to be left holding the bag…….and this is still being played out….)

It’s seem to me that the choice between zero regulation and one with regulation which
invites corruption is a false one, but clearly the latter is to be preferred over the former, since the latter offers some hope of accountability, and the act of corruption, costs time, money and risks exposure and consequences.

The POINT IS…….the game is still afoot……so that while the imaginary wealth has been destroyed…….the full accounting has not taken place……and collapse is in no one’s interest, except those who profit from it’s prediction. ( and would be just as screwed as everyone else if it occurred.)

The challenges here are not insurmountable, but it would seem that OPINIONS such as that offered by Mr. Root do nothing to accomplish what is neccessary……since he doesn’t really understand the PROBLEM……nor does he have a solution. What should be clear is that he has an interest in the outcome……the question is: Cui bono?

      • revnowwhilewecan

Thanks for the extended explination of the greatest ponzi scheme in the history of the world!! You’re absolutely correct in that the game is not over as the game is going into extra innings as the rules change with each pitch and each at-bat.

      • eddie47d

Thanks Rev and Galt. I loved GALT using the term Creating Imaginary Wealth. Something few don’t want to talk about in how those gaining so much wealth did it by dispicable means. They were at the top of the food chain bringing our economy down and need to be held accountable also.

      • Vicki

        GALT writes

Yet the CRASH which precipitated the GREAT DEPRESSION happened anyway.

It’s cause was speculation ( yup capitalism )

I don’t think that word means what you think it means.

Speculation is not equal to capitalism.

Capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market.
        from the Webster dictionary.

Speculating: : to assume a business risk in hope of gain; especially : to buy or sell in expectation of profiting from market fluctuations.

Obviously a free people can speculate. If they fail they are not bailed out by TARP.

Now lets look at the real cause of the crash that is said to mark the beginning but did not precipitate the Great Depression.

“Most people think the Great Depression started in October 1929, with the famous Black Tuesday stock market crash, but economists and historians point to an economic downturn which took hold in early 1929. The stock market crash led to unprecedented runs on banks, and by 1933, more than 11,000 of the nation’s 25,000 banks had failed.”

The likely primary cause was the fractional lending rules for banks. After all if the banks had the money people placed in the vault there would not have been a bank failure.

      • http://none Richard Pawley

Galt says, the “collapse is in no one’s interest, except those who profit from it’s prediction. (and would be just as screwed as everyone else if it occurred)” That is not entirely true. I wish I had the money I spent trying to warn people about what is coming. Of course, it is in no one’s interest and that is what is puzzling by the greedy ones on Wall Street and Power Hungry Progressives who want free everything for the masses until the country collapses. All are going to have to live here except the hundreds of thousands who have left in the past few years and who’s to say they will be smart enough to pick a better place when this thing will affect the whole world.

“IF IT OCCURRED?” Well, I don’t know if it will be a collapse of the dollar and the economy or just a terrible temporary crisis where the dollar loses 2/3 of it’s value and we enter a GREATER DEPRESSION that could conceivably last a generation but there is no “IF” involved. Even one of the presidents former advisors said over five years ago that it was inevitable, that nothing could stop it. Obama will simply go down in history as the one who caused it by his scattering of all he could get his hands one. All this theory of who did what and why and how will be meaningless if you are not doing your best, large or small, to prepare for riots in the cities, terrible inflation, food shortages, rationing and more than even I know. Just suppose that the that see what you do not are right.

There is no IF involved. It is all a matter of when. No economist of any stripe could have imagined 25 years ago that we could be where we are today and not have had a crash but we keep putting it off and kicking the can down the road but can is now to heavy to kick and we have run out of road. Smarter men than I have predicted this will be the year. I feel we may have another or even two but I have told all I know most of what I know, written two books, the first begging people to get out of the stock market in 2006 and when it the crash happened two wrote me letters of thanks, but I have lost time and money, trying even to convince my own family. Of course some small percentage of both friends and family have taken my advice but the number of those who haven’t is enough to make me believe in karma. Some seem almost destined to lose everything along with the majority. Some don’t have that much to lose. I do not know the answer but I do know that no nation has continued to do what we have been doing for the past quarter century and not ended up in dire straits.

I don’t comment much here anymore because those who are preparing are doing so and don’t have the time to waste and they know what is coming. Those who are still in denial are like religious cultists who simply know that their knowledge is superior to all others and they wouldn’t listen anyway. No sane person wants what is going to happen to happen but that will not stop it. I have no solutions at this late date and only suggest that if any reading this don’t have a personal relationship with God that they endeavor to make one as soon as possible. Only knowing what to do and what not to do is going to be of value. As a nation we are entering uncharted waters and even those who are creating this “fundamental change” are not going to be happy at the monster they have created. All the forces have been put in place, and I quite agree with the erudite gentleman, someone in the higher parts of the government, who once said that nothing less than a comet from space or an alien invasion could prevent what is coming. Soon it will make no difference what anyone believes about the causes. What will count will be who will be left after the dust clears and the wars are over. There is no IF involved. It is all a matter of WHEN, and all I can say is Soon. Beyond that I really don’t know. God help us all because soon no one else is going to be able to do so.

Rev. 13:16-18 (KJV) – “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

“That which we must say to the world is that we worship a god, but it is the god that one adores without superstition. To you, Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, we say this, that you may repeat it to the brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees: The masonic Religion should be, by all of us initiates of the higher degrees, maintained in the Purity of the Luciferian doctrine. If Lucifer were not God, would Adonay and his priests calumniate him?

Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay is also god. For the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods; darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil as the pedestal is necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive….

Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is a heresy, and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil.” – Albert Pike, 33rd degree Freemason, Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry

“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” – James 5:1-8 (KJV)

      • GALT

For Vicki: I realize that my piece was rather long, but if read carefully you will see that CAPITALISM is defined as private ownership of the means of PRODUCTION, and that the causes of the CRASH are assigned to speculation (capital) fueled by fractional reserve banking and low margins required to purchase stock. Both of these produce inflation which is essentially imaginary wealth, and encourages debt because the value of money is constantly decreasing. It is also necessary to point out that even with the the 75% of the world’s gold, in the United States the amount of MONEY in circulation far exceeded the value of the fixed price. While the concept of SOUND MONEY does seem to suggest stability any mechanism which permits the expansion of the money supply, such as fractional reserve requirements, purchase on margin, any extension of credit ( payments over time w/ interest ) securitization, derivatives, etc. increases the rate of inflation, so even a gold standard is insufficient to contain the potential damage that could ensue.
As for the actual history and the buildup to what happened in 1929, which began much earlier, I recommend the following: The Lords Of Finance, to understand the latest crisis, read: Extreme Money, and to round if all off: Power, Inc. It will take a little time, of course,
but you will be better informed, certainly more so than Mr. Root and hopefully, you will see that while it is quite normal to want things to be simple and straight forward, attempting to reduce something which is extremely complex, to sound bite analysis with sound bite solutions, is neither wise nor possible.

For sancheleezy: I realize that ad hominum attacks are considered de riguer for most here, unfortunately as a logical fallacy they carry no weight……but I am curious and would be very much interested in a list of these so called money makers you are concerned about protecting……or if you believe government has any legitimate function or any understanding of the actual function it is serving now? ( or whom? )

    • Karolyn Tredeau

Totally agree. Everything cannot be blamed on Obama. It’s the times we live in.

      • http://naver samurai

Though time can change for the better. We can start by voting Obama bin Laden out of office. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • John

the problem really is that with Ron Paul not having any chance at nomination it does not mater if you vote out Obama. If Rick or Mitt would become president you will see exactly the same policies continue… and possible many more for the worse.

      • DaveH

Why, John, because you say so?

      • Jan Dinkins

Obama is to blame for everything that has occurred since he’s been in control.e.g.,an additional $5 trillion debt which is more than what any president in this country’s history has accrued during one or even two terms in office. That debt is placed on the tax-payer’s shoulders. If Obama is re-elected, thw working person just might have to pay a day’s wages for a loaf of bread!

      • Old Henry

You’re right Karolyn. We keep forgetting, it’s all Bush’s fault.

It has indeed been manifesting for about 100 years, but as with snowballs it has gathered much steam as we have sojourned down the hill. Little Barry, the communist foreign-national Kenyan has simply perfected the scam, or I should say his puppet masters have thru Little Barry the fraud.

Enjoy your ride on the bus Karolyn. Or, get yourself an AR15 and go down standing up.

      • John

DaveH, its called common sense…. of course, I do understand that this would baffle you, after all there is no article on mises that really explains what common sense is.

      • Flashy

John … accurate and well said !

      • JeffH

Both John & Flashy are great examples of what common sense isn’t. While I agree that our economic problems aren’t all Obamas and GW most certainly has a share in all of this, Obama has accelerated the issue beyond comprehension. Common Sense shows us that $4.94 T/3+years is just the tip of his iceberg. I’m neither a Romney or Santorum supporter but to say that either of them will continue with the Obama policies and go beyond is ludicrous. I do realize where you’re both coming from…the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.

      • John

DaveH, you are right, the nut does not fall far from the tree…. you must have had a good look into the mirror this morning.

      • Walt1

I think John is very correct. With Mitt or Rick, we could very likely return to the economic policies of Bush, and it would take another strong Democrat leader like Obama to make the efforts to reverse them. We all remember the George W administration–a time when no Republican voiced anything about the tumbling economy and did nothing to make the hefty payments already accumulated for Bush’s wars.

      • JeffH

Walt1, you get an “F” grade on your homework.

      • JUKEBOX

If Obama bears no responsibility for the high gas prices, please explain to me why we are paying right at $4 per gallon for our gas, while a mile across the Mexican border, President Calderon’s citizens are paying $1.50 per gallon. If he can hold the cost of gas down, maybe we need to replace Obama with Calderon.

      • Wyatt

Sorry Karolyn , it is Obama’s fault . He has thrown our tax dollars away on unproven “green energy” investme , spent tax dollars on various “pet” projects” simply because he could . Cramming through a BS Health care program that is a total joke , blocking a pipeline that could mean lower fuel costs , both heating and automotive . And lets not forget all the expenses he adds in with vacation trips and his wife’s travel .

And dispite his repeated claims of ” its not my fault , it is his fault . History cannot be denied . Every president in our history has accepted the blame for what may or may not be caused by his decisions . Obama on the other hand chooses to accept only those laurels which reflect good upon him . The killing of Bin Laden comes to mind . Well it may have been the noble and right thing and well justified but it is a hell of a thing to claim credit for a humans death . That said , it happened on his watch , it is his credit , dispite the 10 years of intelligence work tracking the SOB down . And all of the bad that has happened since he took office is also his responsibility . From his gun running program that went wrong (like it really went wrong at all) to the economy . Sorry , it people like yourself , defending this narcissist that keep him blaming others . History alone says it is .

what’s the latest poll on Moonbeam’s tax increase initative? You know, that one he says is only temporary? Do you think the majority of California voters will fall for it?

      • JeffH

Palin16, I can only imagine how these idiots in this state will somehow vote for Brown’s proposal. The challenge Moonbeam faces with his tax initiative is that one generally popular tax increase…raising income taxes on the wealthy is paired with one generally unpopular one…raising the state sales tax.
What I hear on the street and what the media reports are two different animals. As it stands now, California has one of the highest income tax rates in the nation as well as the sales tax and people have been exiting in droves over the last few years.

As to the cause, most people focus on the housing crisis. Interesting that Both George W and his admin AND Republicans voiced considerable concern over the problem for YEARS before the crash. And guess who blocked every attempt by the Bush admin and Republicans in Congress?

      • David A Deal

Simple and accurate. Most of what we are living through is the result of many things leading up to it including Reagan and GW tax policies that greatly reduced tax revenues, that NEVER trickled down and only proved to exacebate the gap between rich and the working poor severalfold while leading to and explosion of our debt which was compounded by Reagan military buildup in an attempt to spend the Russians into submission (thanks for nothing) and two Bush wars and these tax and war policies have come home to roost and Obama;s been the patsy left holding the bag. And look at the Russians who pay less for gas than we do because of huge oil and natural gas discoveries in their embracing of capitalism and creating a spate of millions as has China’s capitalistic boom has. And China’s boom which has led to their average income to soar leading to a huge influx of new cars, drivers and roads in China has increased their lust for oil which is probably the greatest reason for the price of oil coupled with pure greed from many corners. Obama can do very little to have a real effect on GLOBAL oil prices and the Rethuglicans have tied his hands in icreasing revenues by restoring previous tax rates on the swealthy from say the Clinton era. FDR drastically raised tax rates on the wealthy in 1935 and paid of a war, created jobs and pulled us out of the depression by lifting up the working class which are the ones who drive the economy with their spending power. Vast amounts of wealth continually accumulating in the hands of the few is not good and can only be corrected by reducing taxes on the working poor and letting the wealthy return some of the massive caches of cash to the benefit of the country and society as a whole. Also GALT is the smartest and most informed writer on here.

      • http://naver samurai

Wrong answer David. FDR’s policies increased the size of government, debt, and spending. They also prolonged the Great Depression. You can’t get out of a depression by increasing spending, it doesn’t work that way. Obama bin Laden left holding the bag? Are you an ostrich? Have you had your head buried in the sand for the last 3+ years? Obama bin Laden has done nothing for this country, except make it more into a socialist state. Who had NDAA passed? Who extended and increased the scope of the Patriot Act? Who cramed a health care plan down the throats of people who did not want it? Wh has spent more money in less than 1 term than all other presidents combined? Neeeeed to be making that popping sound. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • Vicki

        David A Deal says:

Simple and accurate. Most of what we are living through is the result of many things leading up to it including Reagan and GW tax policies that greatly reduced tax revenues,

I notice, like most liberals you neglected to offer any evidence of your assertion. That is probably because the assertion is quite false.

“In 2003, capital gains tax rates were reduced. Rather than expand by 36% as the Congressional Budget Office projected before the tax cut, capital gains revenues more than doubled to $103 billion.”

And that is just capital gains revenues. Read the article for more.

      • Vicki

The missing link to the Reagan tax cuts, revenue increase

      • Vicki

Now lets look at the Reagan Tax Policies

The measure cut all income tax rates by twenty-five percent, with a 5 percent cut coming that October, the next 10 percent in July 1982, and the final 10 percent in July 1983. The law also reduced the top income tax rate from 70 percent to 50 percent, indexed tax rates to offset the impact of inflation, and increased the tax exemption on estates and gifts.

The expansion was felt everywhere, as conservative economists had predicted, including in the government’s own income. Total federal receipts in 1982 were $618 billion. Five years later, federal receipts were just over $1 trillion, an increase of $398 billion.

Note again. Tax rates down (by a lot) but revenues up. By a lot actually.

In New York City, that marvel of a Mayor has claimed that feeding the homless is now a “crime” — people who do so will be fined, – jailed, or both!
I understand from what he also said that there are many other states and citys around the nation who will be following his lead on this “bombastic anti human move.”

Now can any of you understand whats coming soon by this type of behavior?

I ask you to all really reflect on a guy who has Billions, who would by way of his power trip treat people who have lost everything in a way that is so “”anti humanistic?”

Is all that idol Rhetoric that politicians spew? YES – We all know it is! I have told you all now how many time why it is, how it got that way, and why its not going to get better any time soon if we as a nation will not see the truth for what it is. Empty your cup’s!
Learn the TRUTH, Teach the TRUTH, and aid others who will listen, and will work to fix the flat tire we have that all started way back in the 1800′s.

We as a nation need to wake up very soon or your worst nightmares will be at your doorstep! That is the TRUTH, rather any of you like it or not………

      Peace and Love

all of this is the hope and change. you just never ask what it would be while he was campagining . he will win again because he has satan on his side. there is only one way to stop all of this and i will not say it for fear of the government knocking on my do tommorow. this government has become a run away train and only god can and will stop it.

Has Mayor Bombast closed the NYC homeless shelters? If churches are, or begin to feed the hungry / homeless will those folks be jailed? I thought we had “separation of church and state”. Oh yeah, only when it serves their purpose.

      • Old Henry

Yeah steve. The politicians have given us the run away train, but we the people greased the rails.

I understand what you are saying Old Henry, but there is no separation of church and state in the Constitution. It states in the 1st Amendment that Congress shall make no laws regarding the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Ergo Congress cannot do such a thing, but states and local government are different animals. The states can have a state sponsored religion, as per the 10th Amendment, but I’m not sure about local governments. Anyway, if he did try to stop churches from doing such things, I’m sure he would get some repercussions from his actions. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

Bloomberg is just another player in the one world government game. This trash had the audacity to deny Giuliani a third term, but spent millions out of his billions to change the N.Y. constitution to allow himself a third term. Living in a extremely liberal city, with a majority of minorities as voters will allow anti-American laws to be created. This is how the communist are taking over America.
Remember it was the bankers that created the American and worldwide depressions. The Bloomberg’s of the world are the cause for 95% of our wars and economy collapse.
These are the people that control our President and Senate and are the ones responsible for the destruction of our Constitution and America as we knew it.
Obama, Bush, Clinton and Bush Sr are all players in their “New World Order”. These puppets are willing to exterminate billions of innocent lives, as long as theirs are rewarded.
Just look at the past 6 elections and you have the proof. McCain-Obama, Both CFR members= A win win for the corrupt ones. Bush-Kerry, Both CFR members= A win win for the corrupt ones. Bush- Gore, Both CFR members= A win win for the corrupt ones. Clinton- Dole, Both CFR members- A win win for the corrupt ones. Clinton- Bush, Both CFR members and Bush sr-Dukakis, Both members of the CFR and a win win for the end of America!
And now we have a first term Senator, with no working experience other then gangster style extortion as a member of the communist-minority scam called “Community Organizers”, with a communist background and communist connections and a true hatred for our once great America(“for the first time in my life, I feel proud to be an American”-Michelle Obama).
This has been extremely well thought out for many decades and planned for generations of these evil people.
I’m afraid it’s too late to save America. As we speak our own government is poisoning us with GMO foods that are not allowed nor accepted in most other countries. The FDA allows “pink Slime”( pure poison) in a food that hundreds of millions of Americans eat every day! The chemicals they are spraying us with every day is getting more and more intense as millions of us get sicker and sicker. Cell phones and electronic emissions that are “micro-waving” and “irradiating “our cells.
This my friend is the largest extermination of a people ever devised by evil.
What Bloomberg is doing is just one little piece in the much larger puzzle that was once America!

Well said! Keep up the good fight, fellow patriot! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • Jo Tracy

I respect Ron Paul’s ideas. However, he is too old to be president. He would have to have a strong VP for me to be happy that he was the Republican choice for president. Another problem is the fact that his foreign policy is very weak. That is a very important issue in today’s world conditions. I will, also, say that any of the other Republican choices would be much better than Obummer. People must realize that there is an evil conspiracy behind him to destroy this country.

      • revnowwhilewecan

I would respect your opinion if it were actually your own. I say this, not to be condescending but because these are the reasons regurgitated by so many that do not know what his actual positions are. Just the fact that you say “he’s too old” is a dead giveaway. Ron Paul is the most healthy and health conscious candidate in the race. He could very well outlive the other candidates and that’s not sarcasm. The greatest threat to his morality would come if he won the race. That’s not sarcasm either. I worked all night last night and have not slept so I will again list the reasons why you are soooo misinformed later but I’m pretty sure others will inform you before I get a chance. Good night my Liberty bloggers!!! :) Alex, Murph?

      • Libertytrain

Revnow – yes he is amazing. Jo must be one of those under 20 types that don’t comprehend that age can equate to wisdom and wise Dr. Paul is. Or she’s older and hasn’t had much life experience.

      • DaveH

What is old, Jo, is re-electing yet another Establishment Leader to further take away our Freedom and Prosperity.
And as far as Ron’s weakness on Foreign Policy, what say you to this?
From the people who know what’s really going on over there.

If our Government goes overseas and intervenes in other countries’ business, in the process killing their people, and taking away their Freedom, how can anybody in their right mind think our Government won’t do that to us when they get the chance?

      • John

DaveH, according to whom? Oh according to Ron Paul’s own propaganda machine… well, and they never lie to further their agenda right? right……. I have several members of my extended family in the military, and NONE of them support Ron Paul nor do they know anyone who does. And we discuss politics quite open on the family face book page. Frankly they laugh about those types of claims. Anyone can claim anything on the campaign trail, and unless it is verified by independent entities it is all just hearsay and propaganda.

      • Old Henry

Jo, here is yet another example of the results of our nation’s wonderful current foreign policy of sticking our nose into everybody’s business.

Time for yet another treasonous apology tour?

      • Old Henry

Well John, ever heard of campaign financial statements? Whenever you donate to a campaign you must state your employer and your occupation.

      • JeffH

John, spoken like a true BOLSHEVIK, “according to Ron Paul’s own propaganda machine… well, and they never lie to further their agenda right?”

Just what agenda does Ron Paul have the you might feel so threatened by? Could it be his economic platform of fiscal restraint, Federal Reserve skepticism, and antipathy toward self-feeding bureaucracies? Or maybe Paul’s ‘Plan to Restore America’ which cuts $1 trillion out of the federal budget in year one, reins in Washington’s intrusion into the national economy, and audits the Fed. Might it be the idea that he would put the Constitution back in the Oval Office and dismantle the welfare-warfare state and restoring a constitutional republic?

        Just askin’?

      • Don

Screw foreign policy, lets take care of our own first, ship out the liberals with all the muzzies and close the borders, then hang the next sob that comes into this country without an invite !!

      • http://naver samurai

Well Jo, Ronald Reagan was a great president and they, the libs, thought he was too old to be president. Foreign policy? I’ll say that with all the years he has had in Congress, he has a lot more experience than Obama bin Laden. But yet, his zero experience did not keep him from being elected. I think we need someone that will go by the Constitution, our founding principles, our Christian founding, and someone that will clean house, like Patton would have done. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • Thinking About

Sam, don’t be foolish, Ronald Reagan had dementia indications before he was respected. It did not make him a bad person but clearly he was losing the ability to always make the right decisions. It was in his eyes and it is awful to see someone suffering this terrible condition.

      • DaveH

That proves it, Folks. John’s family doesn’t support Ron Paul, so he must be right and Ron Paul’s figures are wrong.
Is that all you’ve got, John, your limited personal experience? Where did you learn such logic? Oh yeah, Public School.
        What an ignoramus.

      • http://naver samurai

Yes, he did start suffering these things Thinking About, but not until after his re-election. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • John

Did anyone ever really think about the fact that even down to earth and upstanding people become what we believe corrupt after they are voted into higher government positions? Why is that? The common believe is that they just lie to get into power or have the best intention but then become corrupt by special interests and other lobbyists. And that might be true for some, but all of them? Every single one of them? What if there is something else at play, What if once they are in those positions they get access to information that is of such importance that they have no other way but to change their ways. Information about the real danger to this country, water, food, oil, health danger that we as the common people don’t even realize how bad it is and how it will affect our society. Do you for one second believe they will ever tell the population if such danger really exist? Nope, in order to prevent panic and self destruction of the population they will lie and implement measures that will look to everyone of us like the people who do it lost their mind…. I don’t know what it is that makes people behave that way and if there is a danger what it could be. We know we are on our way to oil and energy shortages, we know we are on our way to a possible food shortage. There are food riots in many countries. Only time will tell what is really going on…and I hope that whatever it is people will be prudent and be prepared for it.

      • DaveH

Oh yeah, the old and trite “You can’t handle the truth” line.
        How lame.
Anybody who pays any attention at all knows that it is just the opposite. Leaders love to scare the citizens and then offer themselves as the solution to problems that they usually created in the first place.

Anyway there you have it Folks — John thinks you’re too ignorant to be told the truth. Typical for elitists who want to run our lives.

      • John

The only one who claims people are ignorant is you… and what I have seen so far on this site, that is how you operate, besides posting links that are either utopia or a lot of times not even applicable, all you do is attacking people that don’t agree with your version of political idiocy, Not that I mind though, it just shows how narrow minded and afraid of other peoples political ideas and convictions you are.

      • Dennis48e

Well John at least DaveH gores to the trouble to post links. flashy, eddie47, and denniso never post any kind of link to back up their position and only very rarely do they even give a source. As far as that goes I do not remember you posting links either.

      • Old Henry

Yep DaveH, they know that as a whole we can handle the truth. However, they know how we will handle the truth and the ending results is what keeps them from telling the people.

      • Flashy

Dennis….in your comments complaining people don’t cite sources or post links. You want us to also hold your hand, wipe your mouth after you eat, and check your diapers as well? or are we to assume you can verify the facts and not rely on being spoon fed what you should think?

or you can check out the links DaveH uses..and discover that the vast majority of the time they are either inaccurate, full of misinformation, or not even on subject (but have a good title)

      • JeffH

John says “DaveH, The only one who claims people are ignorant is you…”…the rest of John’s comment is a rediculous as his opening sentance. DaveH is a big boy and more than capable which, in and of itself, disrupts the purpose of John and Flashy’s very existence at this website.

Oh so typical of you Alinsky-ites…flashy included.
Flashy thinks he doesn’t have to cite links and John won’t. It’s their choice of course but they take a big hit in the credibility department. Flashy just refuses to “do the work” for the rest of the board…knowing full well that most of us will and are fully capable…classic Alinsky. Why post the links when they don’t have any creditable links to reference in the first place.
Not to worry though…in their own minds.

      • Flashy think I’m wrong? you can either state such with or without links or cites. If I’m wrong, it should be easy enough to prove i am …right?

Why don’t you post links proving I’m wrong?

        What a dunce.

      • JeffH

Flashy, do you expect that others here would even remotely believe what you have just said about posting links to prove you’re wrong? You have to be both blind and stupid to even make a comment like that. So ridiculous a statement that addressing it any further would be fruitless.

      • Flashy

JeffH speak for “I can’t prove you’re wrong so I’ll try and waste your time then slam your sources”

      • http://none Richard Pawley

John, I think that there is some truth in what you say. John F. Kennedy was practically groomed to be president by his father, was close to it all his life, yet when he was elected he made the statement, “I had no idea!” However, the temptations of anything you want, any material thing, wealth, power, sex, prestige, and more than I can think of or know, can be strong persuaders of any but the most spiritually minded person. This is why believer’s need to pray for our leaders (as is recommended in the Bible) because we are all affected by what they do.

However, we started as a Republic, and have been morphing into a democracy (which is always a temporary form of government) for a long time now. Our founding fathers selected two houses of Congress, the House of Representatives who represented the people and were elected by them and the Senators, two from each state who were appointed by their states to represent the state. We changed that and now Senators are elected and are far more likely to be corrupted than when they answered to their state alone and not multi-corporations or large government bureaucracies or interstate unions.

As we slowly move away from the Constitution (more rapidly in recent years) those we elect are a reflection upon ourselves. Sadly, our two major parties are more alike than different and therein lies one major trouble. Only a return to the virtues and morality of our founding fathers and the Constitution itself can prevent us from sliding into the backwater of history (not this year and not next but in our lifetimes). We have spent what wasn’t ours and now owe more money than any nation in the history of the world and even now, as we sink into depravity and slavery we still argue about trivia. I don’t know the answer but I do know that without the hand or God to guide us our future will be no different than any other nation that rejected His values, the basic and beautifully brief Ten Commandments that those minorities who hate law and order and God Himself have made illegal to even be shown in public schools today although they grace the highest court where even there they are sometimes ignored. How far we have fallen when even Webster, the founder of our public schools, once said that education without the Bible is useless.

Unlike the Progressives I cannot predict “Happy Times are Here Again” but can only suggest you get your house in order and prepare for hard times on a scale you have not imagined possible in this nation. If there is an answer it is a personal relationship with God, and that transcends denominations. I think this country is worth saving but as someone has said, all this political nonsense that is going on is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. If we don’t go to war before November or some other major event happens, then the elections in eight months will be the most important of our lives. If the Republicans win it will be bad, if the Democrats get back in or retain control of the senate it will be much worse. Get ready. Prepare! Pray!

      • revnowwhilewecan

That’s why so many are gravitating towards Paul. People are tired of the speeches and sound bites and ivy leaguers that are all to perfect. Paul’s unwaivering voting record for his 12 office terms and his partial return of congressional pay each year in April, more than proves that he cannot be bought. I’m not a student of politics but can anyone think of a presidential candidate that has thought about the people than anyone in history since maybe Madison?
        Richard Pawley:
You are obviously correct in that JFK was groomed for the presidency but if I remember correctly he wasn’t his father’s first choice. When he started talking about moving against the establishment that he was born into by talking about his disdain for secret societies and moving to replace the dollar with a new currency, well we know what happens to those “wackos”.

Flashy, NOPE! It’s speak for “I’m not going to waste my time with argueing over your idiotic and obvious intent to deflect away the facts”. Why am I not surprised that you would say and do that?

I refer you to your mentor’s words…”Every weakness of every proposed tactic is probed by questions…. Is this manipulation? Certainly….”

“An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth — truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing….The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means… The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be….”

Flashy you have been proven to be wrong about things and a lier on many occasions. Opal, DaveH, ohoh, and Independent Thinker have all proven you to be a lier as well as many others. OK folks…let’s get a grip on reality. W.A.R. or whomever, in the opening written comment to the vid, lays the Great Depression on Hoover and FDR. Laughable. The Depression was already under way and we were in the throes of the impact when FDR took office in ’32.

Next…in todays economic structure, much of what is stated as going to occur, simply cannot unless the powers in place around the world decide to commit hari kari in unison. yes..if we take the advice of the Right and implement sudden austerity measures and reduce spending on a massive scale, if we allow the redistribution of wealth that has been practiced since Reagan from the Middle Class to the wealthy, and if we ignore the social contract between the govrnment and the citizenry…the elements of economic strife and social upheaval will grow and reach a point where we will not have the will to fight our way out of any recession. We will be in the best of times in stagnation. Not a good base for the normal economic ups and downs of a consumer based economy.

Simple minds would say cut government, cut spending, return to gold as a monetary standard, unleash business from regulation, let the people starve or be successful, etc etc

All simple minded suggestions ignoring the realities of living in a complex modern society of hundreds of millions connected to billions around the globe. It’s akin to demanding we can do away with computers and the internet and all will be well if we just go back to using slide rules. Our society is a very complex machine…it doesn’t work in a simplistic slide rule age.

      • Jan Dinkins

Reagan did not start the “redistribution” of wealth. JFK and later Johnson took this redistribution to a high level. During the Johnson adm. funds were “stolen” from every individual’s soc. sec. fund to be distributed to every democrat whim that came down the pike thusly, shrinking the soc. sec fund to what it is today…almost depleted. The democrats will do ANYTHING for the vote and as long as the “gimmie” hand is held out the democrats will retain power and my pay check and social security savings will be totally wiped out! The only consolation is that the golden geese who have been laying the golden eggs will soon be extinct,i.e.,no more redistribution of someone else’s hard earned money.

DaveH…don’t you ever wonder why there is only one link (Mises) that supports anything you spout ?

      • Old Henry

Not to be nit-picky, but FDR did not take office until March 4, 1933. I’m sure it was a brain cramp, or that confounded keebord.

Hoover exacerbated the Depression by increasing taxes, just the opposite of what was done in 1921.

FDR’s policies continued the Depression by several years due to his big government (communist) policies. His own Treasury Secretary admitted that in 1939. * think it was Henry Morgenthau, Jr.

      • Flashy

henry…you’re correct. Brain cramp. he was elected in ’32, took office ’33. My bad.

As for the Morgenthau statement, wasn’t that the admission that the FDR administration reining back on the Keynesian activity resulted in a minor recession from the then slow Recovery in the mid 30′s? i believe (not sure) there was an economic relapse of sorts in ’37 when the pump priming was scaled back and austerity measures in government activity introduced. i know there was that scale back and a slow down (backslide0 in the economy…not sure if it ws ’36 or ’37 though.

      • http://none Richard Pawley

However, FDR did outlaw gold, against his own better judgement, as the Treasury Department and the owners of the Federal Reserve persuaded him to do so, and devalued the value of our money some 65%. Then people were out of work and hungry. I’m sure everyone has seen picture of the long bread lines but he government in it’s great wisdom had farmers dump milk to maintain higher prices (even then the owners of the Federal Reserve were afraid of deflation). I have been saying since 1990 that were are going to have big inflation, not deflation (Ok houses dropped but they were artificially to high to begin with).

What is simple minded about a balanced budget? Because we can just create money out of thin air doesn’t mean we should. Oh, yes we have to pay people to stay out of work for 99 weeks. Well, we won’t cut spending and balance the budget so the market will force reality upon us. The nations of the world won’t do this either, as you say, so in effect world wide Hari-Kari will be close to what is coming. I don’t know if it will be in unison but it will most likely be worldwide so that will defeat the plans of many native born Americans who are leaving (the numbers renouncing their American citizenship has doubled but the number leaving far exceeds that) BUT IT WILL MAKE NO DIFFERENCE as everyone is in a mad race to the bottom.

Yes, modern civilization is complex but not if we actually followed the Constitution. However it’s a lot of work and our congress is SO overworked. We gave the responsibility for the money of the country which the Constitution gave to congress over to the private corporation known as the Federal Reserve and the dollar has lost 97% of it’s value since. The Supreme Court never voted on that – they wouldn’t dare. It would tarnish their reputation, either way. I’m sure if they had realized what the results of Roe v. Wade would have been they would have left it up to the states. Perhaps instead of just giving up altogether as the congress has done – we haven’t had a budget since the President took over three years ago. Well, this is all going to come to an end when the whole system collapses and then we will see the end result of a people who deny both God and common sense and insist that the government (or other people) owe them anything. All will know of what I speak before this decade is over and if the Progressives remain in control of our nation perhaps a lot sooner than that. Yes, it could well be called Obama’s Depression. Poor Obama! He will go down in history as the man who destroyed the USA but it will really have been congress who went along with it all. Interesting times we live in and they are going to get a whole lot more interesting in the very near future.

      • DaveH

Really Flash? See this cite and get ready to wet your pants. It seems that Sheriff Joe has found tons of stuff on Obama bin Laden. In fact, it may be enough to keep him off the ballot in Arizona.

It may even affect the national election. But if he does lose, I have no idea who would be the next president. Maybe we can give a lot of write in votes for Sarah Palin? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • http://none Richard Pawley

I agree that Obama is only one man and he could not have accomplished all the destruction to our economy that is coming all by himself. It’s true that in three years for instance he has increased the national debt as much as Bush did in 8 years, and his myopic cult-like vision of “my way is the way and there is no other” works great for cult religious leaders but not for a successful politicians who accomplishes anything worthwhile. He continues to say that he wants to help us get off foreign oil but his real goal is to get us off oil altogether. Obama claims credit for the oil increase in this country but the truth is that all the oil we have gotten in recent years is all on private property and the president has greatly hindered the production of gas and oil on public property where most of it lies. Like all presidents before him he points out that what we do this year will not lower prices next year and while that is partly true it has been used as an excuse for 40 years not to expand using our own oil and natural gas.

The point is that the current president has had the help of the Democratic congress house and senate for since 2006 and for the first two years of his presidency has had the Senate entirely at his beck and call. This is so true that the terrible health care plan we call Obamacare could be more appropriately called Pelosi-Reid Care. Obama will be replaced but little will change if the Senate is not changed.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and the next Nancy Pelosi. insists that it’s all about savings but in reality Obamacare may well be the final nail in the coffin of the United States of America as we have known it. We now must borrow THREE THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY – just to pay the DAILY INTEREST ON THE NATIONAL DEBT. This is totally insane, and this year for the first time, like Greece, we now have a national debt that exceeds our gross national product. The recent announcement that Obamacare will actually cost $1,700,000,000,000.00 will still understate it and increase that debt. Sadly, I fully expect that what has happened in Greece will happen here. It is just a matter of time because we will not reduce our spending and even President Obama has said this is not sustainable but he seems not to care.

We must replace the Democratic Senate or our ship of state will continue on it’s Titanic-like last voyage. The changes that are coming will be profound as will the inflation. In a few years this whole health care business will be relatively unimportant as Americans primary concern will be having enough to eat.

“On the Verge of a Great Depression?” Alas, what is coming will be far worse. I do not know what historians will call it but in my last two books I called it “The Greater Depression.” We will recover but we will be changed forever and the USA will not be what it has been. Already the number of Americans born and raised here and leaving has dramatically increased. May God help us because no one else is going to be able to do so.

I do blame all elected officials and Obama as they are not doing what is best for the American citizens and LEGAL immigrants. Why should illegals benefit from our tax dollars. They have taken away so many of our rights and not followed the constitutional laws of our country. Most if not all are only interested in being a career in government. They should have to wait for retirement age as the working class has to do and pay into Soc. Sec. follow the laws we have to abide by. Do the job they were elected for to represent us. I am tired of giving our tax dollars to countries that hate us and hiking up the cost of oil and gas as a thank you. Sending our factories and businesses overseas. A country that does not produce will fail.

      • George E

I enjoyed your post. Thanks for your thoughts.

I would like to add to what you are saying by adding a thought that I haven’t heard discussed up to now. Ironically, I believe our financial “saving grace” will be our public lands. These lands are huge and hold vast quantities of all sorts of minerals, including crude oil and natural gas. We just need to open them up to exploration and production so we can enjoy the revenues that would flow from them. Since these lands are owned by the public, the revenues that come from selling the resources from them should go to the public. The best way of utilizing these revenues, in my opinion, would be to pay for our entitlement programs or payments made directly to the citizens of this country, not other boondoggle programs our politicians think up. I know this is going to be a big pill for many people to swallow since they’d like to leave these public lands untouched by human hands, but at some point we’ve got to face the fact that we can’t afford to let these resources sit idle when we have an enormous debt to pay off and not enough federal income to pay for everything we want the government to do for/to us.

If the country were actually faced with bankruptcy because we can’t pay our bills, I imagine the court would look at the assets owned by the country and its ability to generate income from the sale of these assets. That’s about where we are now. We have insufficient income to service our debt, but immense natural resources. The good news is that we don’t have to sell the public lands, just the natural resources on them. It’s also good that while we sell these resources, we will be helping the US economy grow as well. Growing our fossil fuel energy industry will create many, many high paying jobs and reduce our balance of payments for buying all that foreign sourced crude oil. This will strengthen the USD which will help keep inflation from growing quite so much as a result of the money the Fed has printed over the past few years.

        What do you think?

      • http://none Richard Pawley

George, your proposal is quite reasonable. If we could squeeze $16 Trillion out of everything we could pay off the national debt and then we would have three thousand million dollars per day we wouldn’t have to pay for interest on the debt and would have that money for all kinds of things. This will never happen with the Democrats in control or likely even with Republicans who fear the EPA who would never allow it. However, after the Greater Depression that I mention elsewhere, if things get anywhere back to normal, the new normal, there might be hope. Otherwise our children and grandchildren will not have a life anything like we have had and all the gold, silver, platinum, uranium, oil, gas, and coal will belong to foreigners who will have no regard for the environment and it will truly be a “Brave New World”

Having arrived at the Gates of Heaven,
Barrack Obama meets a man with a beard.

      ‘Are you Mohamed?’ he asks.
‘No my son, I am St. Peter; Mohamed is higher up.’
Peter then points to a ladder that rises into the clouds.

Delighted that Mohamed should be higher than St. Peter,
Obama climbs the ladder in great strides,
climbs up through the clouds and comes into a room
where he meets another bearded man.

He asks again, ‘Are you Mohamed?’
      ‘Why no,’ he answers, ‘I am Moses;
      Mohamed is higher still.’

Exhausted, but with a heart full of joy
he climbs the ladder yet again.

He discovers a larger room where he meets an
angelic looking man with a beard.
Full of hope, he asks again,
      ‘Are you Mohamed?’

      ‘No, I am Jesus, the Christ;
you will find Mohamed higher up.’

      Mohamed higher than Jesus!
Man, oh man! Obama can hardly contain his
delight and climbs and climbs ever higher.

Once again, he reaches an even larger room
where he meets this truly magnificent looking man
with a silver white beard and once again repeats his question:

‘Are you Mohamed?’ he gasps as he is by now,
totally out of breath from all his climbing.
‘No, my son, I am Almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega,
      but you look exhausted.
Would you like a cup of coffee?’

      Obama says, ‘Yes please!’
As God looks behind him, he claps his hands and yells out:
      ‘Hey, Mohamed, two coffees!’

      Keep your trust in God;
      your president is an idiot.

Or if you wish, insert your own adjective! Makes no difference, ‘progressives’ need to be sent back in their holes.

I certainly agree with you that Ron Paul would have a better chance of pulling our Republic out of the abyss, but I will vote for whoever gets the nomination, because getting Obama out of the White House in 2012, is the only chance of saving our Sovereign Republic. Obviously, you haven’t done your home work, or you would know this man hates America, and everything our Founding Fathers stood for. You need to read “Roots of Obama’s Rage, by Dinesh D’Suza, a man of Indian desent that explains how Obama feels about America, and why he is an anti-colonialist, going back to “Dreams of my Father.” D’Suza has studied him very carefully.

  • http://naver samurai

Well said Wayne. It is time to do all the things you said, but I wish to add going by the Constitution, by our Christian founding, allowing school prayer, getting rid of the “fifth column” I’ve talked about on this site, bring home our troops from the Middle East and Europe and station them along our southern boarder, get rid of Obama bin Laden care, overturn Roe vs. Wade, and have our country turn back to seeking God and not the nonsense of the secularists, humanists, and other freakish groups. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • Karolyn Tredeau

Samurai – “have our country turn back to seeking God…” No one has been stopped from doing that! I don’t care what kind of laws we have; religious adherence starts and ends with the home. You can’t blame all our ills on the government. Each and every person is responsible for his or her own values; and whether we have prayer in school or not, it makes no difference. What you are saying is that if we all behaved like sheep, following YOUR beliefs, everything would be hunky-dorry. Well, it doesn’t work in the mideast; does it?

      • Rooster

You totally missed what Samurai and Wayne are saying.
Samurai is not trying to get someone to follow “his beliefs”. He is stating that we need to turn our hearts back toward God, and begin to follow the godly principles that our country and our Constitution were founded on.
So many men and families have fought and died for our precious liberties.
You have your own right to believe as you wish, because of their sacrifice. Try reading a bible in a muslim country.

      • http://none Richard Pawley

Karolyn I agree with you that we can’t blame all our ills on the government but there is way to much government and I wish I could have earned one of those fat salaries so many of them make. We now have 22,000,000 government workers who are a drain on the economy because they consume and do not produce. For instance the USDA has 110,000 workers, one for every nine farmers, but would life be much different if that department did not exist at all – I think not, except we would save hundreds of millions of dollars every year. New Zealand did away with their equivalent of the USDA and their farms have prospered.

However I must disagree with you when you say, that “religious adherence starts and ends with the home”.
Such a religion would be worthless. One of the things that the Democrats and Obama support is freedom of worship, NOT FREEDOM OF RELIGION (as is promised in the Constitution). That is why there is such an outcry against forcing Catholics and some other Christians to pay for abortions and birth control. True religion can never be private. It may not involve going door to door like some of the cults do, but it should affect every sphere of our life. Our founding fathers even said that our form of government would not work for a people who were not self-regulating and moral and we seem to be proving that they spoke the truth.

A friend of mine who is a former member of the European Parliament and a follower of Jesus, said the following to me last week about President Obama’s defense of the 29 foot cross at the Mt. Soledad War Memorial:

“This is a gimmick and consistent with the administration’s policy that people have freedom of worship but not freedom of religion.

“In this way religion is confined to ritual practice in authorized places easy to control, infiltrate and especially to marginalize. It compartmentalizes religion in the persons life, ‘In this place for this hour I am a Christian, apart from time and place, I am secular.’ Freedom of religion is another thing, which gives us the freedom be follower(s) of Christ, living consistently with our beliefs and giving the honour to God at all times in all places.

“In this shift from religious freedom to freedom of worship, schools rid themselves of religious ethos, holiday are stripped on religious meaning, employees are forced to do work against their ethos or be fired, etc. Obama defending the cross is…part of the shift and wholly consistent with the removal of religious freedom.

“To see the progression of this shift look at France, then at what is happening in many Moslem countries(where freedom of religion only applies to Moslems) and then finally consider what happened in the USSR. In many Middle Eastern Moslem countries today, where Christian(s) have been reduced to freedom of worship, they are persecuted for any manifestation of faith outside the physical church building and just for being Christian. They find themselves trapped. They are confined and now even their places of worship are targeted. They are refused permission to repair churches, to build, despite damage and even destruction. In some of these countries the Christian population is disappearing.”

While Christians can and do disagree among each other, especially over man made rules and various interpretations, if they are really Christian, in more than just name only, they will all be following the simple rules that Jesus taught when He lived on earth as a man, and the one thing that will be evident among them is that the love Jesus expressed will also be evident in them.

As for being sheep, you may be confusing two different things. There is a time and place for turning the other cheek, but there is also a time and place for fighting true injustice. It comes down to the fact that most people here do not believe or quickly forget that life here is very temporary and only a tiny part of all that there is, and that how we act and live really does have an effect on where we will find ourselves when we leave here.

Additionally I have no idea what ‘freakish groups’ may be a reference to but if we do not soon – very soon – return to the those freedoms espoused in the Constitution that made us great – then we will see our great nation slip into a descending spiral like the once great Egypt that has never regained her former glory in over 5,000 years because they rejected God’s ways.

Christians may have to go through something like the Jews went through to wake them up, and stop the silly nonsense of all that takes away from the simple rules Jesus taught (and there are hundreds of things that people get stuck on in that regard) but sheep? I think not. There are to many people throughout history from Joan of Arc to Thomas More and hundreds of others, even today, whose lives displayed what Christianity is truly all about. Remember, even Jesus said that a time will come when there will be those who would say, “Lord didn’t we work miracles in your name” and Jesus, not denying they did, will say, “Depart from me you evil doers into the everlasting fires” or some such words because their actions did not match their words. Likewise with liberal politicians (or any politicians), ignore what they say and watch – very closely – what they do. May God bless all who read this.

      • http://naver samurai

Ah yes, the personal attack. Classic liberal strategy. What I was saying would be equivilent to “if we did these things” not we have to. “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

        John Jay, October 12, 1816

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

        Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775

“The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”

        John Quincy Adams

“A patriot without religion in my estimation is as great a paradox as an honest man without the fear of God. Is it possible that he whom no moral obligations bind, can have any real good will towards men? Can he be a patriot who, by an openly vicious conduct, is undermining the very bonds of society? The Scriptures tell us “righteousness exalteth a nation.”

        Abigail Adams, November 05, 1775

Since you seem to be an atheist remember that atheist have significantly more lifetime suicide attempts, more relatives who commit suicide, are younger, less often married, less often have children, have less contact with family members, perceive fewer reasons for living, are more impulsive, more aggressive, and more likely to abuse substances.”

W.A.R. nails it once again. I completely agree with him that the #1 most important solution to problems of this country is to reduce the size of this out-of-control government Leviathan. This is so blatantly obvious to anyone with a brain that you’d think that’s what the leading Republicans candidates would be talking about, right? Wrong. Not a chance.

Instead of hearing that we need to dramatically cut spending, balance the budget, get rid of stifling govt regulations and so on, what do we hear from coming from the mouth’s of these three illustrious pillars of the GOP? Nothing but platitudes, double-speak & spin about how govt can create jobs, how govt can lower gas prices and medical costs, how we need to spend more for defense, etc, etc, etc. In other words, the same tired old b*ll sh*it. These clowns want govt to spend more and more, & put more regulations on the economy which only exasperates the problems making them even worse! Government is not the solution, govt is the PROBLEM (hmmm, I think I’ve heard that before). Worse, most of the Republican sheeple are buying this nonsense!

Now, in case you your mind isn’t completely locked up and confused as a result of all the B.S. flying around the airwaves, or you haven’t been paying attention, there is one person, and only one person, running for president that truly believes in fiscal sanity, limited govt, and is an advocate for freedom & liberty. And who might that be? Nahhh, just kidding. Who in the world would possibly advocate those archaic ideas? I must be crazy.

Some people here don’t pay attention to the news. Just this past week one of our intelligence people was asked if there were Iranian supported Hezbollah in 15 of our cities and the gentleman said “NO” that Iranian supported Hezbollah were in far more American cities than that. In fact Christopher Swecker, a former FBI assistant director recently called Hezbollah the “A Team” of terrorist organizations, given their organizational reach, history, para-military training, and the state sponsorship by Iran. Hezbollah, by the way, has caused more American deaths, many hundreds, than any other group except Al Qaeda. Their alliance with the Mexican drug cartels has allowed them access to well over 200 American cities.

And now the latest pro-Sharia move where our taxpayers dollars are helping to unite the violent Muslims is where Obama’s State Dept. has just decided to go around Congress and give the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS, right after that brotherhood announced that the destruction of Israel is now their number one goal. In the a truly Democratic election the Islamists captured 75% of the vote in Egypt. For thirty years they were kept in check by the Army and the President Hosni Mubarak but they have no use for Democracy as we know it. In fact some believe that our way of life is basically evil and they are opposed to freedom as we have known it, most especially for women. Not only is Israel now in greater danger so are the eight million plus Christians, the oldest group of Christians in the world, who live in Egypt.

In this country if the Progressive goal is not that of Saul Alinsky, causing a collapse of the country, they are surely doing everything that points in that direction. I find it hard to believe that the Progressives are so stupid that they would knowingly cause the collapse of the country that their own children will have to live it but they seem to be oblivious to the monster they are creating. Or they just don’t care. Obama is more like a King than any president we have ever had. Did you see where his daughter wanted to go to Mexico and so with 25 secret service agents her vacation must have cost the taxpayers millions. It was even on YouTube until they requested it be removed and it was gone in a day. No Republican or Independent or Libertarian would have squandered the taxpayers money like that, and since 53% of the population pays no taxes and the other 47% have to work to support the 53% our country is doomed if all those 53% vote and especially if they vote more than once. No one who takes free stuff from another day in and day out, year in and year out, is going to give it up without a fight, and the ultimate result will be a continued growth in entitlements until the dollar and the economy collapses or the cutting of benefits because no one will loan us the money to keep spending it and we owe more than the incomes of all the rich in the country, and that will cause the dollar and the economy to collapse. Some believe these are the last days and while I am not entirely convinced of that I do believe we are headed for times unlike any that this nation has ever experienced before, worse than the great depression or the civil war, primarily because we have come to believe that the Universe or our neighbor owes us something and that we think we are not responsible for anything.

I do not even know if a return to morality and the ten commandments can save our country but at least it could slow down the inevitable. If we were any nation other than the United States we would already have collapsed as we now owe more money for the first time in history as of January than our entire gross domestic product although I believe they now call it something else. Iran has sponsored terrorist attacks from India to Brazil for nearly two dozen years now and we imagine that we will be exempt. Anyone with any sense at all would be doing what they can to prepare. We can laugh at the people on the National Geographic Channel and the program called DOOMSDAY PREPPERS and the program on the Discovery Channel called DOOMSDAY BUNKERS but those people from all walks of life, from teachers to truck drivers, from retired police officers to ex-military, and from business men and women to ministers, as far out as some of them may be, will have a greater chance of survival the really hard times that are coming than many reading here. May God help us!

Now you know better than that Eric. It’s the liberals that have been pushing for war with Iran. Cripple the economy? Thanks to Obama bin Laden there is basically no economy left. Here are a few things I can say about you and your ilk and not be proven wrong. Ready?

“There are three points of doctrine which forms the foundation of all morality. The existence of God, the immorality of the human soul, and a future state of rewards and punishments. Suppose it possible for a man to disbelieve either of these three articles of faith, that man will have no conscience.”

    • Jan Dinkins

Obama is extremely racist. Try reading his book “Dreams From My Father”(anybody’s guess) Obama states his disdain for his mother and his white grandmother whom he alluded to in a campaign speech. He said that he made the choice to have nothing to do with the white man’s world except, of course, to take advantage of bestowed opportunities. He is definitely a follower of Saul Alinsky (who advocated the overthrow of the independent,”capitalistic” self-starter). In Alinsky’s world Big Brother calls the shots and cracks the whip while keeping the masses ignorant and hungry enough to do do his bidding.

      • Flashy

Jan…you obviously never read the book. Do you always rely on other people to tell you what to think?

You don’t know what she’s read or hasn’t read, Flashdunce.

DaveH ….She either wrote misinformation she was told/read and spouted it in her post, or she was lying. Anyone who read the book knows what she spouted isn’t true.

        Nice showing of your ignorance…

      • DaveH

I would ask you “So you’ve read the book?”, but your answer would have no credibility, Flashdunce.

      • Karolyn

I read the book and saw no such disdain for his mother or his grandparents.

      • Flashy

Psst Karolyn…the book didn’t have pictures and had too many three syllable and longer words. DaveH wouldn’t be able to read it in his lifetime….

Educated people are snobs and don’t know what they are saying … didn’t you get the memo?

      • Blue Devil

Flashy — I have read the book, and every claim that Jan Dinkins made is true —— at the very least, to a certain extant. It is a forgone conclusion that you have a brain. It is probably in pretty good condition, too, since it is seldom used. Your problem is that you have forgotten just where you laid it down!

If people want proof of what is coming, then look back at history. The trouble is people, like back then, don’t want to see history (Hitler,Stalin, Lenin, Castro and Chevas just to name a few) and how they did their hope and change. I can’t believe that people are so ignorant and can follow such garbage and not support the great country we were. So many people want everything for nothing and want to be so tollerant to all the corruptness and hide under their pillow and when the destruction happens then you will hear, “I didn’t see it coming” or whoa is me. The same that was said back then and nobody did anything about it before it was to late. I see the Republicans closing their eyes to it and the liberal Demorats are getting away with the destruction. I know some on here will disagree with me but read history before you open your mouth and use your keyboard. The saying of ” history repeats itself” will fall true if people don’t wake up.

How is pointing out the fact that Obama signed this executive order “adding to the possibility that something like that could happen?”

I prefer being informed to an unpleasant surprise IF something bad does happen. I’ve taken steps to provide for my kids IF there is an “event” . I still cling to the hope that all of us who read and study what’s been happening in this country are just hopelessly paranoid. But the FACTS just keep piling up day by day. Taken individually, they have little meaning. But when looked at in a broader perspective all of the information gathered about Obama, all of the actions he and his administration have taken, and the general state of the American economy and collective mood don’t leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling about my children’s future.

The mind-boggling thing is that many people still support Obama and his re-election. I have yet to read any facts that this continuing support is based on. Just a lot of words that sound “really swell” but are little more than meaningless platitudes.

BTW, the capitalisations were to add emphasis (no italics here!), not meant as yelling.

America is on the verge of another Great Depression – and WORSE. An adult does not have to think twice about oil independence or how a woman will get her hands on birth control pills. An adult doesn’t hesitate when deciding if quick bailouts help America or a politician’s “friends.” An adult doesn’t have to concern himself with a politician being seen as a good old boy when jobs are headed overseas.
Adults live in the real world. Politicians RARELY live in the real world.
Adults pay for and appreciate HIGH gas prices,
banks that REFUSE to lend money and those who treat Air Force One like it’s a travel perk for people who have never lived in the real world of ACCOUNTABILITY.
Now, if you’re one of the rare folks who’s life has been made better by the Reject-in-Chief, good for you. But, you’d better get yourself a good lawyer and make yourself scarce when the bill for that ‘friendship’ comes due. We didn’t get here via leadership.
We’re where we are because some people think they can do anything they want and gloss it over with WORDS and promises. Americans will NOT endure mere WORDS from those who will never understand the difference between stability and slavery. Wake up, or else, America.

I’ll tell you what’s scary. I was watching a senate finance committee meeting on c-span and there are actually ‘progressive’ senators attempting to somehow convince people that greece’s debt is bad but u.s. debt is good. Greece just kept on spending for social programs but can’t sustain it. GO FIGURE!

      • Sirian

What you’ve pointed out is, well, just proof positive that we have an infestation of idiots in Congress. Greece’s debt is wrong, ours is OK? Lord, what a bunch of self aggrandizing fools we have legislating laws. But it’s just fine to those that are in line waiting on their Obummer Dollars – you know, social programs that keeps them content. And we’re supposed to be so wonderfully thrilled by what they will provide? Sure. . . :(

      • Flashy

Jeesh….I swear, some of the “deep’ thinking and analysis on this site astounds me at times. So now the trend is comparing the US to Greece? (BTW…i find it very difficult to believe the word “good” was used. Perhaps “manageable”, but “good” ?)

You guys want to see how we’d have fared if we followed an austerity policy like everyone on this site is screaming for? Yes…look at Europe. you want to see what will occur if debt is created without targeting areas for growth and investment in the modern world, instead relying on the wealthy to “invest’ for our future? yes..look at Greece. You want to see what we will become if we let the wealth continue to be distributed to the 1% and our own infrastructure and future manufacturing is left untouched? Yes…look at Greece.

        Jeesh …. THINK SOMETIMES !

Flashdunce gives his usual Double-Talk statement.
Neither Deep Thinking nor Credibility describes you, Flashman.

Flashdunce speaks the usual Progressive tripe. But his are just words. For the Reality of what Big Government does to economies, we need only to look at this list of countries arranged from top to bottom by the size of their Governments and check out the economies of those with the Biggest Governments compared to those with the Smallest Governments:

It only makes sense to anybody with half-a-brain. Who is going to work hardest and be most productive — those who must please voluntary consumers, or those who have assumed the power of Force? With the former, we can immediately withdraw our support and they must change or perish. With the latter, we can wait 4 years in an attempt to elect somebody who Might make some changes (good luck with that).
In 1900 Government consumed less than 5% of our GDP. Now Government consumes 42% of our GDP. Who’s the 500 pound gorilla in the room?

      • Flashy

Dale…as i stated…you want to see what occurs when public investment is not targeted to the future and any investment for the future is left to the wealthy? Look at Greece.

In addition to mismanagement and corruption, they relieved the elites from the burden of taking care of employees, and gave tax breaks, subsidies, and loopholes to the elites…relying upon that sector to return that relief to the infrastructure and modernization of the country…and got screwed royally for it. When they had to face the music, there was nothing in the cupboard. The only item they had available was cut into the social contract with the people..the elites had taken investment elsewhere, and left the country high and dry.

Now they have no social contract worth mentioning, no educated workforce, no modern business or infrastructure, the money has left the country. That is what you get when you rely upon business and the wealthy….they look after themselves first, themselves second, and themselves third..and maybe the nation and workers as an afterthought.

As we see today in this nation after 30 years of suffering from the legacy of Reagan’s war on the Middle Class.

Our infrastructure is crumbling and private monies are not even showing up, our R&D is suffering, our educated workforce is becoming less educated and skilled for todays tech., our citizens are being squeezed as they are raped for the highest dollar return the oligarchy can shake from them, and they are being more and more less certain of a roof over their heads, food on the table and health care if they fall ill or injured. meanwhile, the redistribution of wealth is slowing, but continuing from the 99% to the 1%. The most massive wealth redistribution mankind has ever known.

we can thank whomever looks after this nation that we are coming to our senses and have an administration, and a majority of the People, who have taken the war back to those who have placed us in this position…the Oligarchy of Corporatism, the wealthy elite, and the American taliban

      • DaveH

        You’re such a boor, Flashdunce.
If indeed, Greece’s problem is that “public investment is not targeted to the future and any investment for the future is left to the wealthy”, you can certainly supply some references to back up your fabricated claims.
No reasonable person is going to buy the conjecture of a dishonest man (or woman).

  • Alex Frazier

Booms and busts are not necessarily part of the “natural” business cycle. They are the result of artificial government interference.

There were emergency relief centers during the Great Depression. So welfare did exist in earlier years.

Printing money is not keeping things moving. Printing money just raises the price on things we buy.

If you back the dollar with gold, in our current circumstances, other countries will cash in their dollars to take the gold. We can’t go back to a gold standard until we fix our debt and fix our money.

There was some good stuff in this video, but I’m not as impressed as I might like to be. A lot of the information was off, incomplete, or incorrect. Maybe the next video will be better.

    • Sirian

      Alex F,
The “booms and busts” root lies deep within the Fed. I agree, “artificial government interference”. That is something so many don’t know. Probably wouldn’t believe it one way or another.

    • DaveH

Sure we can, Alex, and we must if we don’t want to see our hard-earned fiat money diluted to nothingness.
      Here’s how:

      • Alex Frazier

You misunderstood me. I didn’t mean to say that our money couldn’t be backed by gold. I merely meant to say that as things stand right now, it would mostly lead to all of our gold reserves being taken by other countries. That’s why Nixon took us off the gold standard to begin with.

To go back with gold, or to go back to being backed by gold, we first have to correct the inflationary issues, debt issues, etc. In other words, before we can put our gold behind the money, we first have to stabilize the money. Otherwise bad money drives out the good. Say’s law if I remember correctly. We put gold and silver into circulation and it will disappear until the crap money is gone.

But I agree with a gold backing. I just think the currency needs to first be stabilized.

      • DaveH

        That’s Gresham’s Law.
But which came first, the chicken or the egg?
I say getting our house in order isn’t going to happen until the Money Creators have the kind of limitations that are created by Gold or Silver as our money.

      • Alex Frazier

Gresham’s Law, thank you. It’s been a while. The last few months I’ve been up to my eyeballs in Bastiat.

      • Alex Frazier

I get where you’re coming from. I would ask:

If we backed our money with gold right now, without putting our house in order first and correcting our debt obligations and overspending, what would the result be when our bonds came due and everyone looked to collect, with the power of the printing press no longer at our disposal?

What will the result be with us having more dollars than gold to back them?

I don’t disagree that putting the restrictions of gold on the dollar would rein in Congress in a hurry. But there are other issues outside of their present spending habits that are a problem. Specifically, the fallout of their previous spending habits, which will inevitably come home to haunt us.

I would almost prefer that we repudiated our debts, made a new currency, and then backed the new currency with gold. And eliminate Congress’ ability to borrow on the good faith and credit of the United States.

      • revnowwhilewecan

Thanks for taking the time with a detailed explanation but I have a few questions:
        1. You say we would piss off the other world powers and countries by crashing the world economy. Agreed. But aren’t we already doing that with the “office depot’s” employees at the Federal Reserve? Aren’t we already blatantly paying our bills with a basically fake currency, hence the reason so many countries are refusing to accept dollars for petrol?
        2. I think the minting of platinum coins is am awesome idea but is there 6t$ worth of the precious metal in the world? How would the U.S. obtain that much metal without continued invasions and strait bank fraud already being perpetuated for oil now?
        3. What would happen if the Yuan took the lead as the world currency? I understand the movement to do this has already been set in motion despite obvious opposition from the U.S.
        4. Isn’t possible the U.S. is again staying from the implementation from the gold standard because we have no reserves?
Recently, U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner went to China to speak on the economy. It’s been said that all of the government officials only concern and main questions were in regards to how much money was being printed at the reserve. he obviously avoided those and similar questions. He then went on to speak at a conference (I’m not exactly sure who was in attendance). I think we can all agree that respect, honor and “saving face” are some of the traits the Chinese hold in the highest of value. My point is that when Geither was asked questions about the dollar and its astronomical debt, he assured the a audience that there was concern about its current debts and the audience LAUGHED him off of pulpit!
Lastly, without “hitting the easy button” on the debt as I’ve stated, couldn’t we stop importing goods and export massive goods and except only precious metals for payment for those goods until the debit was cleared?
Thanks for all of the insight Alex. I’ve only been researching world policy and economics since December so if have any other info or links to help further my understanding. I’d appreciate it.

        Paul/Napolitano 2012………The awakening continues

    • revnowwhilewecan

I don’t have any economic background whatsoever but I have an idea that I posted before. I don’t know if you saw it but I was wondering if you thought it could be feasible, or if not, why?

My belief is that the only way out of this is to press the “easy” button on the deficit and reprint a new currency such as the “greenbacks” ala Lincoln. You could do away with the federal reserve and distribute new monies accordingly. In a fiat system it is not what BACKS the paper but WHO CONTROLS IT’S QUANTITY, correct? Take away the reserve and we could control its quantity. Some will say that this will “crash” the dollar. This is true on a global scale but what people forget is that we are one of the few countries in the world that doesn’t need anything from neighbors and could be truely self-sustaining. In doing this, what would happen? We would no longer export or import goods which would bolster our employment at home as we would need to keep jobs here to sustain us and in doing so, be given a sweatshop free price on goods and services. We would then be able to eaisly afford the higher prices on our home built products because a dollar would actually be worth a dollar again. What would happen a few years down the road? The dollar could once again take the lead in the world market as we would’ve gained true equilibrilum while breaking the Zionist’s chains that hold us captive.

      • Alex Frazier

If we did that, incorporating all that you mentioned, the dollar would never become the key currency again, and we would piss off the super powers of the world.

In the first place, we would have to repudiate our debts to our bond holders. The Federal Reserve buys a lot of them, but so do China and many other countries. After doing such a thing and collapsing the world economy, no one would ever want to touch our currency again, at least not for the next hundred years or so.

In the second place, if we caused that sort of financial loss to countries like China, Russia, Britain, France, et al., there is a good chance that we might find ourselves the target of an allied invasion. You don’t just destroy the world economy and think to walk away from it without there being any consequences.

Consequently, if we were thrown into a genuine war (as opposed to nonsense occupations of foreign countries), the monetary cost would be enormous. So the repudiation that was meant to clear our debt could conceivably have the opposite result, pressing us into a greater need for the Federal Reserve than ever before. Even an austere country like Switzerland ended up spending something to the tune of five times their normal budget on the mere scare of a Nazi invasion that never actually happened. Wars are expensive. There’s no way around it.

A few things that can be done to make steps towards financial solvency, if I were in charge of things …

        1) The Congress was not delegated the power to issue bills of credit (which is what paper fiat money is), and the states have been expressely prohibited the power to issue bills of credit. So no government entity has the authority to print paper money. The only way it can be done Constitutionally is to issue certificates that can be exchanged for specie, because such a certificate is not credit, but proxy.

What the Congress does have the authority to do is mint coins and regulate their value.

So to start, I would pass a new Coinage Act, or amend a previous one, providing for the minting of a single platinum coin with the value of $6 trillion dollars (or whatever appropriate amount relative to what we owe the Federal Reserve directly). I would pay back the Federal Reserve with that single coin and call the debt even.

When the debt is cleared, amend the Coinage Act to prohibit the use of $6 trillion dollar platinum coins as legal tender. That way the Federal Reserve can’t spend it in any way.

The justification behind doing this is that our debt to the Federal Reserve is fictitious to begin with. They bought our bonds with money they didn’t have, and have been paid back over the decades with money that is backed by the sweat and labor of the American people. This has added funds to a zero balance, in essence paying them back with interest the money they lent us that they never had to begin with. If they can buy our bonds with pieces of paper that claim to be worth a hundred dollars, then we can pay them back with a coin of precious metal that we claim to be worth whatever Congress says it’s worth.

It can even be argued that the coin has significant value. As a unique, one of a kind coin … the only one ever minted, which has also some eventual historical value as being the coin that shafted the Federal Reserve, the coin itself will have collectible value numismatically. It’ll never be worth an ounce of platinum. It’ll be worth a hundred times that. Just look at the value of a Flowing Hair silver dollar. In any sort of decent shape it’s worth $90-$100K, and that’s for a silver coin with a face value of $1, of which many are still available to collectors.

        2) With a thorough audit of the Federal Reserve, when it is discovered that in addition to the $16 trillion it lent to other banks and countries at the expense of the American economy (due to the inflation it causes), I would cancel their bank charter and seize their assets, with the justification that they have not acted in the interest of the United States. It can even be argued that their behavior has been criminal, depending on which facts are true and which are not.

The reason I would seize their assets goes back to point one. What the Federal Reserve has done is, they make up money out of thin air, buy our bonds, and then collect real money in return, with interest, which they then use to purchase gold. Their gold holdings, in short, were bought with fleeced money that they made by lending fictitious money to the government that got paid back to them via our taxes, and they have used inflation as a tool to increase those gold holdings.

        3) With the Federal Reserve closed, our gold reserves properly restored, our debt to the Federal Reserve satisfied, I would then create a new certificate money that is 100% backed by precious metals. The bills would not be exchangeable for the precious metals, but there would be an absolute requirement that every penny have a corresponding metal reserve to account for it.

This certificate dollar would then be used to pay off inflated Federal Reserve note debts on outstanding bonds via the tremendous exchange rate that would exist between the certificate dollar and the Federal Reserve note.

Once they’re paid off, I would put the remaining Federal Reserve notes in a museum, because they would be history.

These are the initial steps I would take, according to my logic and understanding of the situation, to correct our problem. There may be many other steps necessary as well, but this is a start. And even these steps might need some serious fine tuning to become viable.

Obummer’s intentions are clear as can be. He has accomplished inflicting more damage to the basic foundation of our country than any other president before. Others have contributed their fair share but Obummer now has the ball and is running towards the goal line. If he gets past the defense line come November, hang it up. Prep up folks, this is one player that needs to be stopped no matter what!

I find it extremely humorous when what they have called for in the past (or current) occurs and they get what they pay for…almost always stinging them and this nation and causing strings of denials and astonishment that bad things happened ….

You know Flashy, your posts are so frequently lacking in any substance whatsoever and usually little more than innane name calling, they remind me of that scene in Cocktail when Tom Cruise is at the art show. The artist makes a few snide comments, and Tom responds by pushing him, smiling, and saying, “you’re ugly.”

That’s all your posts are to me. You’re just Jim Carrey calling Courtney Cox “saddlebags” because you have no valid argument. It’s truly pathetic.

It’s sad that you have the right to vote for things that affect my life.

Oh ye of little understanding. Obama is nothing but a corrupt and evil puppet of those who control the financial world. If you want to know who is calling the “shots”, just look behind the curtain and discover the elitist powers that control the FED. Obama is a reincarnation of the Bushes, Clinton, Carter — well all of the Presidents dating back to Woodrow Wilson. The policy is called continuation of agenda and the policy will not change until the people of this country wake up. You will not see change with either party, the Repoobs or Donkeybutts.

The federal government is out of control with its do-nothng Congress, spineless Supreme Court, and worthless federal judges.

It never ceases to amaze me how people who are responsible for the mess we are in are incapable of admitting their complicity and always eager to blame other people who really had nothing to do with it.

Progressives and the left are not in charge and have nothing to do with this mess . Obama is neither left nor progressive. The only real progressive in our government is the Independent Bernie Sanders.

You can repeat your lies over and over it still won’t make it so. You are in denial. It’s centrist conservative RepublicRat thinking and behavior that has ruled this country and that is responsible for this mess.

Own it and live with it you cowards.

In order for things to change, you must change yourselves first.

    • Dale on the left coast

Eric . . been living under a rock? O’bammy is not a centrist, he is far-left, grew up with marxist loons and radicals . . . look at the Czars he appointed, 60′s radicals and nutty professors all, then there’s incompetent Holder . . . Hillery describes herself as a “Progressive” . . .
The Dimmicrap party has been hijacked by the socialist/marxist set . . . it is not the party of your grandfather. Listen to some of Jack Kennedy’s speaches in 1960 . . . he would be a devout conservative today.

      • Dale on the left coast

And Eric . . . “how did we get into this mess”?
Remember the Comm Reinvestment Act . . . everybody gets a house, everybody gets a mortgage . . . trillions of dollars in bogus mortgages went to Fannie/Freddie . . . Frank Raines oversees it all, then leaves with a 90 million golden handshake. Dodd and Fwank battle Bush to keep the scam going through the first decade of the New Millenium, even though several repubs including Bush warned it would be a disaster.
Fannie/Freddie bundle the worthless mortgages into derivitives and Wall Street fences them throughout the world. By 07 the housing market is in decline, then during the election campaign, almost 600 Billion is sucked out of NY banks in a few hours . . . and the party is on. O’bammy gets elected on the Hopey/changey thing and the big spend starts . . almost 6 Trillion and counting . . . and the US is on the ropes.

        Dale…(and jeffH)…

        [Remember the Comm Reinvestment Act . . . everybody gets a house, everybody gets a mortgage . . . ]

Haven’t a clue what the CRA was about, when it began, or the history and actual legislation was about do you? you should understand about what you write so you don’t come across looking like deliberate lying or complete idiots not knowing what you write. initiated in the late 70′s, the CRA stated two simple concepts. Mr. banker, a community deposits in your institution X number of dollars. you have to show where you are investing those dollars and, if not Y % is invested back into the community, you have to detail why you are not reinvesting back into the community depositing that money with you. The second half was it eliminated deliberate redlining of neighborhoods based upon race, creed or color of the people living there. NOWHERE does it “mandate’ forced mortgages.

        [trillions of dollars in bogus mortgages went to Fannie/Freddie}

Bogus mortgages? you mean somehow fake mortgages that slipped through the FNMA/Freddie Underwriting guidelines? In actuality, prior to 2007, the best performing, and most difficult to obtain, were mortgages backed by FNMA and Freddie Mac. It was deemed A Paper...and the vast majority of mortgages written from 2000-2008 were either Alt A or subprime, neither which went under the FNMA or Freddie guarantees.

[ . . . Frank Raines oversees it all, then leaves with a 90 million golden handshake.]

I agree..Raines should be in jail. he saw the massive amounts of money going to Subprime and Alt A and wanted in. So FNMA started buying up the SubPrime and Alt A mortgages from the secondary market. FNMA and Freddie never did guaranty those lesser mortgages…they bought the paper from the secondary marketplace and kept the bubble growing

[ Dodd and Fwank battle Bush to keep the scam going through the first decade of the New Millenium, even though several repubs including Bush warned it would be a disaster.]

[Fannie/Freddie bundle the worthless mortgages into derivitives and Wall Street fences them throughout the world.]

Actual amount in % that FNMA and Freddie bundles were in relation to the overall MSB market? Want to guess? go on…take a guess…. if you guessed higher than 10%, you were way off. if you guessed 10% you were still off. try again …

[ By 07 the housing market is in decline, then during the election campaign, almost 600 Billion is sucked out of NY banks in a few hours . . . and the party is on.]

Ahhh…but why did the Crash of ’08 occur? C’mon hotshot…you seem to know. I’m not going to help you dig out of this one. let’s see if you can tell the truth and cite facts and actual events ….

[ O’bammy gets elected on the Hopey/changey thing and the big spend starts . . almost 6 Trillion and counting . . . and the US is on the ropes.]

Obama is elected, comes into office facing the Great recession, economic freefall, and the job losses were almost 1 million a month. he inherits the Bush budget with its HUGE deficits and which does not include the cost of two wars nor TARP I.

Eric says — “Progressives and the left are not in charge and have nothing to do with this mess”.
That’s odd. Before 1900 Government spent about 5% of the US GDP. Now they spend about 42% of the GDP. Government has been encroaching on our wallets and our Freedom since the Progressive Teddy Roosevelt was in office.
You are the Liar, Eric. You can deny it all you want but the reality of Progressivism is staring us in the face. And for those who are confused — There are Progressives in both major Parties. And they are the majority.
      From Murray Rothbard:
“I regard progressivism as basically a movement on behalf of Big Government in all walks of the economy and society, in a fusion or coalition between various groups of big businessmen, led by the House of Morgan, and rising groups of technocratic and statist intellectuals”.

So the question is — “Is Eric just an ignorant follower, or does he aspire to, now or later, take advantage of other people through his dream of Big Government?”.

      • Flashy

Who is Murray Rothbard and why should anyone take what he says seriously?

Racism, there’s no Racism in this country! Yes tell that to Trayvon Martin!

      • Doc Sarvis

I agree that racism exists and is an important problem among several other problems. This video did not mention anything about that issue. It focuses on an imagined looming economic crisis, which is what I refer to in my comment above.

      • DaveH

Of course there’s racism and it’s strongest among those who claim to be the victims of it:
Click the “View Results and Demographics link”.

A “color-blind society” (which I would prefer) does not have special rules for people which depend on their race.
We largely don’t have a color-blind society because Government meddlers and manipulators gain more Power by pitting us against each other.
My dad was an excellent example of that. Most of our childhood we were lectured about treating people equally by my dad. Then the Equal Opportunity Laws were passed and he (as a Foreman) witnessed people using the new laws to their full advantage and he changed. We spent much of the later years trying to convince HIM not to be prejudiced by the actions of the few. That is how it works. Government, by creating rules that favor certain classes of people, just creates resentment among the people who aren’t favored.
If we truly want to eliminate Racism (and we should), the best chance we have for that is to get the Government out of the issue and give people time. As with most problems that the Government claims the ability to solve, racism policies have been a dismal failure.

Our economy can be blamed on many things…. Deregulation, bad trade policy, bad tax policy and bad spending policy priorities… But to blame this on Obama is well…. a very conservative thing to do… which means wrong.

We created the Chinese trade imbalance through our past dealings with them, We created deficits by tax cut and spend policy of both parties and it started with that numbskull Reagan, We went into two wars while at the same time giving tax cuts out like candy. We sold out our manufacturing base and the middle class by being anti-union. Was the housing collapse due to too little regulation? Thought not….US Multinationals are not friends of the United States as a country… There is no loyalty to anything but the bottom line for the majority stockholders. The banks control this country through their lobbying efforts and big money in the political process that the activist conservative Supreme Court feels is free speech. They have destroyed this country. Conservatism has been tried this past 30 years and has been proven a failure.

We need a new direction. Conservatism is not workiong for most people in this country. But the conseravtive sheep still drink the kool-aid… How is conseravtism working for you in places like AL, MS, SC? Hmmmm….

    • Jan Dinkins

No, the Democrats have been in control more years than the Republicans. Even with Republican presidents the Democrats have had control of Congress for most of the time. The Democrats have been in control of Congress since ’06 until Republicans gained control of the House in ’10; however, the Senate is still controlled by Democrats

      • Dave67

Things do not get done without both parties signing off…. How many filibusters did the GOP use from 2009-2012 while the Democrats had “control” of the Senate? During 2001-2006, How did the GOP do when they had the POTUS and Congress? Oh but they get real disiplined don’t they when they are the minority…

The Democrats are a joke and the only bigger joke than them are the Republicans…. They still hold on to the idea that you can cut taxes without cutting spending and think that is sound policy…

    • noel

Conservatism works quite well in THE big RED STATE!!! If not for the illegals here, we would be kicking a$$ and taking names. It’s the DIMocRATS that have legislated our war on big oil. They make it all but impossible to drill where the big deposits are, they have so regulated the industry that it is all but profitable to build a NEW refinery, and they have tried, unsuccessfully, to promote green policies which are simply beyond the reach of current technology aka Solyndra and their ilk… So, how did that work out for the American tax payer Dave? I’m guessing you also drive a Chevy or foreign car as well… Fight socialism…BUY A FORD!!!

      • Dave67

You know as well as I do without oil, the BIG RED STATE would be exactly like AL, MS… essentially thje 3rd world….And leaching off states like CA, NY and IL who get less than $1.00 per person in money from the Fed Gov than they pay in. Guess who loves illegals? The US Chamber of Commerce…. They want the cheap labor… Who do they give most of their money to??? The GOP…

I have no problem with what I drive because my car is made in Germany, not Mexico where we cut off our noses so a few people can make higher profits. Competition is what makes capitalism work or did you and your boy George W Bush forget? Under your boy Bush, 33 mergers in the oil and refining were allowed to happen. Do you think consolidation is good for capitalism to work?

War on big oil??? They are making record profits! Let me be that kind of victim. But I see you have no clue how the price of oil is set.

  • Patriotic nut

Yes, Obama and his administration are well on their way to collapsing the U.S. economy. If you have been paying attention many have said there is no oil shortage so why do you think the price keeps rising? It is for many reasons but the main one is because the dollar, which is what oil is valued with, has been devalued so much. If the dollar weren’t lwered to the current level of being worth around .30, oil would be around $60.00 a barrel, a reasonable price. Print that money you anti American slime, devalue that dollar to .10 and watch the economy fail, no matter who gets elected it may be to late.

    • Patriotic nut

Bye the way, for the complete morons on this thread and many others who want to say we who oppose Obama are all racists. Kiss my back side, I’m no racist and it angers me that you idiots can use that term so lightly when you have no clue. I was, in fact, in support of Herman Cain and donated to his campaign. I am from, and living in, the deep south. So shut your pieholes until you can actually prove some of the vile crap you spew.

    • Dave67

You can oppose Obama and not be racist. I do not know what fringe you listen to but ok…

      So what drives oil prices?
The key is to realize that the oil market is a world market. This has some amazing consequences:
      • Drill baby drill and the Chinese will thank you.
      • Exxon loves OPEC more than you can imagine.

      Drill baby drill
The world market produces and consumes about 95 million barrels a day. The US, uses about 19 and produces about 7.5 million bbl/day[1]. In 2010 Alaska produced 0.6 million bbl/day, or about 0.6% of the worlds oil. As you can guess, that does not change the price of oil by much. So if baby drills like crazy in the Gulf and the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, the most you could hope for would be about a 1% drop in the world price of oil. So how much is that for gasoline?
Well when oil is $126/bbl, which is $3.00/gallon, gas is about $4.00/gallon. So another Alaska might save us and the other oil addicts about 3¢/gallon. China, the next biggest addict expects to be importing 80% of its gasoline by 2030. Of course Japan, Korea, and Europe import almost 100%. So they will all thank us (or they should) for drilling in our wildlife refuge and our fishing grounds.

      Exxon Loves OPEC
But you knew that. Every time there’s a big oil price spike Exxon makes about an extra $30 billion per year. That buys a lot of love. And it’s a free ride. The Saudi’s have to cut production to raise the price, but Exxon, does not help at all. So they appear to have clean hands, and it’s all gravey. In return, they quitely protect OPEC.

      Now take your meds….

Yes, the Constitution was trashed long ago.
It’s main trashers have been the Progressives (Neocons are just a sub-group of Progressives) who, for their own selfish interests, have built Government ever larger for the last hundred years or so.
People need to understand that there are two kinds of Progressives — The Progressive Leaders who know damn well what they are doing, and the Progressive Followers who are just ignorant of reality and have swallowed the Propaganda dished out by the Leaders.
We can wake the Followers up, but the Leaders, of course, are already fully awake and just using us.
I suspect that Eric is feeding at the trough. If he wasn’t, he would be more attentive and less condescending to the comments of others.

The downfall of the U.S.A. ocurred under the Bush Adm. 1- The IRAQ war; cost=$800,000,000. 2-Lives=4000 g.i.’s, 30,000, wounded [destroying their careers & family lives]. 3- Upset the balance of power in the Middle East; Iraq was an enemy of Iran & acted as a buffer state between the adjoining countries & Iran. Now Iran is Iraqs leading trading partner & Iran is shipping weapons to their rebels thru Iraq. The other Middle Eastern countries are now spending a vast amount of $ for weapons & planes.4- In the U.S. all the federal agencies were run by the industries they were to oversee; SEC, ENERGY,OFF SHORE DRILLING, MAE & MAC, FINANCING BANK, & OTHERS. 5- The talk of substituting another currency for a base in trading oil. U.S. has become a second-rate nation.

      • Flashy

From the Wall Street Journal. $800 billion…jeesh. As i stated..whatever you guys are smokin’, it’s got to be illegal …and a helluva lot more potent than pot.

The nine-year-old Iraq war came to an official end on Thursday, but paying for it will continue for decades until U.S. taxpayers have shelled out an estimated $4 trillion. … .Although that only represents about 1% of nation’s gross domestic product, it’s more than half of the national budget deficit.

Those costs include interest payments on the billions borrowed to fund the war; the cost of maintaining military bases in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain to defend Iraq or reoccupy the country if the Baghdad government unravels; and the expense of using private security contractors to protect U.S. property in the country and to train Iraqi forces. Caring for veterans, more than 2 million of them, could alone reach $1 trillion, according to Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, in Congressional testimony in July.

Other experts said that was too conservative and anticipate twice that amount. The advance in medical technology has helped more soldiers survive battlefield injuries, but followup care can often last a lifetime and be costly.

I know that so many of you in the Confederacy are praying for the failure of America. If only Jesus will rise up and smite the nation in order to smoke the (offensive words removed)communazihomosocialist out of his “spider-hole”. Your RealAmerican SuperPatriotism in burning America to the ground in order to “save” it is touching.

It’s as moving as your zeal to protect America during the Cheney Administration, when you rose up in a blunt-white ring as hard as Krupp-steel to cordon off the Unelected President from those who dared to disagree with him, calling all dissenters America-hating traitors against our “Decider” and “War President”.

Only now, would you consider–I mean it’s been over a decade and $4 trillion–do you think you could bring yourselves to go up to the mountain top and ask the Great Growling One to tell us what was so important that he had to have multiple secret meetings with the Nation’s Christian Oil Providers (libs call ‘em ‘oil company execs’, disrespectfully)? Upon seizing power in the coup d’etat of 2000, the Administration began these secrect meetings, ostensibly for the purpose of ‘protecting America’ and gas prices quickly began to rise rather than go down, even after we’d embarked upon the multi-trillion dollar great crusade known as the “War President’s War” or the “Decider’s War” or the “War to Get Cheney’s Boy’s Picture Taken On An Aircraft Carrier” or the “War to Re-seize the White House in 2006″.

I see the zeal with which you have devoted yourselves to uncovering all the Kenyan voodoo plots with non/fake/not-good-enough birth certificates and school records and the Truth Behind Obama’s Secret Kenyan Communist Hitler Moustache. Surely you could take a minute to ask our Unelected 43rd President to level with the people of the Confederacy and tell us what it was that they were talking about in those oil company meetings in the White House? Especially since we’re constantly-constantly-constantly banging the drum of (offensive words removed) the current ELECTED President about his oil policies?

Ron Paul is the only Candidate to honor our Constitution and our 2nd Amendment Rights. Romney is a Lefty and his voting record proves it and you suckers out there are falling for it. Santorium and Newt are big Government and their voting record proves that. All three of the Three Stooges voted for a reduction of $900 Billion over 10 Years but voted for a Budget busting deficit of $1.2 Trillion in one year that does not sound like balancing the budget let alone reducing our Outrageous Debt. Ron Paul has the only plan that will set this Country back on track, a $1 Trillion reduction of Obamination’s 2013 budget, audit and eliminate the Federal Reserve (A MUST), eliminate the IRS and install a fixed tax rate everyone pays, get rid of 5 Illegal government agencys, reduce the size of Government by 10% right away close our borders and remove 40 Million Illegals, remove Obaminations Death Care Bill, sounds like something I would want. Muslims if they decide to attack from within Paul will have to act so I don’t worry about a few thousand of those cowards. Removing our troops will encourage our enemies to start something but we still have an advantage over all other countries and Paul will make our Armies stronger, he has a plan for our defense. His mainproblem he is too laid back and people think he is not strong enough, don’t worry he’s smarter than you know and better than the Three Big Government Flip Flopping Three Stooges.

I can’t believe anybody being so foolish as to attack the United States. Even most of the Japanese Leaders knew that it was probably futile to attack us, but they were desperate having been pushed into a corner by the Power Hungry FDR.
As far as the drug wars go, the problems we experience have been mostly caused by the high price of drugs which were caused by the intervention of the Big Government do-gooders.
What people need to realize is that Leaders are always more than happy to build their Power and their Perks to “help” us. The history of their “help”, though, has been dismal to say the least.

Have any of you checked out the stock market lately. It sure as heck is not expecting a recession. The US had the best performing equity markets in 2011. Most global indices lost 15-20% in 2011 while US markets were more or less flat. US markets have been on a tear this year with the NASDAQ back at levels last seen in the Clinton days and the Dow back to 4 year plus highs. I am much better off today than I was 3 years ago.

    • Brian L

Jim, does money printing mean anything to you?

      • Brian L

Subtract from the inflation rate(the real one, not the government ‘sponsored’ one) and you will get a negative number. In other words, you are losing money…

      • Jim in NY

I care about my 401K and other investments. They have done quite well over the past 3 years. Last year we saw some rough spots due to problems in Europe and Asia.

      • Dale on the left coast

The US dollar has lost over 30% in the last few years . . . staying on the present course will lead to further losses. Lets face in . . . the US dollar would be 50 cents by today if it were not for the Progressive/Socialist Disaster called the European Union.
Why would any thinking politician want to follow Europe’s lead down the Socialist Road . . . when we can see the outcome playing out in front of our eyes?

Simply getting what they can while they can. Did you ever notice what happened to stock trading before the 1929 crash? Same old thing man, do your homework. Jump ship before the rats do, would be my advice. Buy silver while you can still afford to do so!!!

    • DaveH

You’re not better off, Jim. It just appears that way to those who don’t understand money.
The Dow just recently broke 13000 for the first time since April of 2008, but 13000 then was a lot more valuable then than it is now.
The Dow is currently about even with what it was in April of 2008, but silver has risen about 90% in price since then, and gold has risen about 85% in price since then, Gold and Silver prices being good indicators of the true depreciation of the value of our money.

    • revnowwhilewecan

      Jim in ny:
You’re missing the point. While it’s great that your “401k and other investments” are doing great, your purchasing power is severely diminished. It’s great that YOU are doing better but some of us are worried about the big picture. While you THINK that your assets have grown over the last 3 years, this is just an illusion. Being in ny I understand why you would say this. I suspect only when the whole of your retirement check is spent on a single loaf of bread and a tank of gas will you get the true effect on where the value of the dollar is rapidly headed towards.

I have not received the Liberty Alerts since last Monday, 3/19.

Do you have any idea why this would be?

    Old Henry

    • Bob Livingston

      Dear Old Henry,

I do not. I would suspect your ISP may be blocking us. I will have the technical team look into it.

      Best wishes,

        Thank you Bob.

Did you checked your junk folder, there is where mine ended up for a while. Apparently some e-mail update that downloaded new junk definition put them there. If you find them there you will have to manually tell your e-mail program that they are not junk.

      • Old Henry

Thanks John, but yes, that was the first place I looked. This is not the first time I have had this problem, but I don’t think it ever went on for 3 days.

Old Henry, not have I…I just “re-signed” up for the PLD Alerts. May possibly have something to do with all of the website work, changes and enhancements.

THANKS ALLYN, AS WELL AS MANY OF YOU THAT HAVE RESPONDED. Troublesome times are here filling mens hearts with fear but The True Christ of the Bible is the answer to our body, soul and spirit. Sad to say that in this country the fire from most pulpits has been extinguished by the threat of losing their tax exempt status.. As I see it, we need to get rid of all tax exemtions and get rid of the IRS. All so called faith based operations that depend on the Federal Government for funding should be cut off. Far to many now depend on faith in Government rather than faith In God. For the most part the American Church has more faith in government than they do on The God that owns the cattle on a thousand hills. The church needs to REPENT OF THIS EVIL and turn from it..

We have been torn between the Welfare Statists and the Military Statists for long enough. Leaders are using our gullibility to further grow their Power and Perks. It’s time for Freedom-Loving people to quit buying into the Propaganda.

Who Is America’s Third Largest Employer? The third largest employer in the United States: the federal government’s massive regulatory bureaucracy!

More federal bureaucrats write regulations to control large and small American businesses, help Big Labor, and meddle in our personal lives than work for McDonald’s, Ford, Disney, and Boeing combined.

In terms of revenue, the federal regulatory behemoth’s $54 billion per year budget would also make it one of the largest companies in America. Employment at the federal regulatory agencies has climbed 13 percent since President Obama took the Oath of Office and will total nearly 300,000 this year.

According to an analysis by Senator John Barasso (R-Wyo.), federal regulators imposed a total of 379 new rules that will cost more than $9.5 billion in July, 2011 alone. That’s a whopping $25 million per regulation

  • simian pete

I’m on food stamps and unemployed right now. I just thank God for the social net. You probably won’t starve in America ! So many people who help you out.

What I don’t understand is the illogical arguments on Food Stamps. The matter is settled. If you already paid taxes for so many years there is nothing wrong with getting Food Stamps. You can’t say “No Food Stamps ” after the Food Stamps have been bought with your tax money. That’s like saying you paid on an insurance policy, but it’s immoral to receive the benefits (when you qualify)…

Conservatives and Liberals play are playing a crazy game when it comes to Food Stamps. Those Americans who paid high taxes for so many years – then lose their jobs – better get some of those subsistence “benefits” …

No one is paying for my Food Stamps. I already paid for them ….. I worked since I was 15 years old . So that’s about 30 + years of punishing Income Taxes !!!!

Then I hear the arguments that my tax money is already spent ! I don’t look at it that way. If the American Voter elected the our current spend happy rulers to office – spending my tax money – then to hell with the Americn voters and the rulers ! Your going to pay the Simian back for all the money you people took, the Simian doesn’t care if you thieving voters have to borrow it. That’s just reality …..

    • DaveH

There is no doubt the Government took your money forcefully against your will. And that was wrong, both morally and Constitutionally. But they took everybody else’s money also, and those other people are sharing the burden of your food stamps.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, Pete.
I don’t blame you for taking the help, Pete, even if it was from involuntary donors. But I would blame you for voting for the thieving Leaders who are helping themselves to unwilling donors’ money.

      • simian_pete

You pose a very good argument. Let me point out where you might be mistaken.

        1) Our government is elected by the American voters .

        2) The Voters are primarily responsible for the type of government we have.

        3) The contract, chosen by the voters, is ….

        a) you pay your taxes ……

If YOU fall on hard times
        b) We The People will supply you with a “social net” .

        c) Social Net = Food Stamps, welfare, etc

Dave, that’s the reality YOU and ME live in …..

I paid over 100 grand in taxes ………

You aren’t supporting me, neither is anybody else ……

That’s the “social contract” brought to by the American Voter in our Republic.

Your argument, that people who are now eligible for “assistance” are some type of burden to everybody else. Now get this .. this is key !

If I take out a Life Insurance Policy for 1 million dollars. Let say for argument sake I have paid all the premiums on time. After I’m dead, the Insurance COmpany pays the benefit to my family …..

Let’s say the insurance company refuses to pay because it’s a “BURDEN” for them.
That’s is your argument in a nut shell, my friend ….

The Central Bank caused the bubble and the subsequent bust, like they usually do, by expanding the money supply, thus sending wrong signals to entrepreneurs about the state of our economy. That resulted in frivolous investment which failed and created the Depression. The Depression didn’t need to last 14 years though. More Government intervention in the Marketplace caused the unnecessarily long Depression.
You need to read Murray Rothbard’s “What has Government Done to our Money” which I linked to in an earlier comment, and then after gaining a little more understanding about money, read this book:

  • Tunaman

Wyatt, Right on, right on!! You seem to be the only one I’ve heard that has any common sense!! All the usefull idiots that buy the Obummer BS are most likly fellow travelers!! When the wheels come off the economy, these slackers will be picking s%^t with the chickens if there are any left!!!

Its already started. The question is, what are you going to do about it? If you think a different president or electing a republican will be any better then you are bigger sucker than I thought.

Memo to America: Stop waiting for Democrats and Republicans to save you. It’s bad
for your health and your future. Can’t you tell? You have another choice – use it!

    Read “Common Sense 3.1” at ( )

    • DaveH

Common sense tells me that a large portion of the population has no concept of the concepts of Liberty, and as such, after a long and bloody conflict, would most likely (even if they win) have no clue how to get their Freedom back.
Even the Freedom that our Founders won didn’t last long (about 80 years at best).
Most likely any revolution would be a disaster for most of us, during and after the conflict.
      For some reason:

  • Wyr-Nut

Those on food stamps and assistance from our government should work in the fields that produce the food for our country. Then there would be no more illegals.

Obama isn’t the problem, It’s the republicans who don’t want to tax the rich or the oil companys. All they want to do is cut social security and medicare.

    • Jan Dinkins

Anyone who has worked over half his/her life, paid a bundle to the Fed gov. deserves/earned assistenance if needed. The ones who are simply cling -ons and leeches do NOT deserve a hand out. But with a debt of almost $16 trillion all funds for medicare, soc. sec. will disappear completely unless someone with even an iota of financial sense employs extreme measures to salvage what is left. Paul Ryan is the only one who seems to “get it”. If something is not done now then NO ONE will be recipients of what they have already paid for, i.e., medicare and social security. But, of course, enslaving this country in insurmountable debt is the socialist’s dream come true. Drain our purses then make us beg for crumbs.

    • DaveH

      The Rich aren’t already overtaxed?
Who really pays the Income Taxes:

But let’s forget the Income Redistribution aspect (that is — Theft), and think about the economic reality of it. The poor consume most (if not all) of their money. But a large portion of Rich peoples’ money goes into Capital investment like Machinery, Plants, and other such productive items responsible for providing US citizens with cheap quality goods and services. When Government taxes their money away, it is mostly wasted on vote-buying schemes, distribution to the Politically Connected, and infrastructure boondoggles. So our economy necessarily declines. This isn’t just theory. Those who want evidence can simply read the report in my next comment, and wake up to the reality of Big Government.

This is from Michael Savage and the Savage Nation. Obama has by passed congress once again and is giving 1.5 billion dollars to the Muslin Brotherhood. Now tell me is is not muslin. If he were a Christian as he would like us to believe, wouldn’t be giving the money to some Christian origination or charity. If Obama gets a second term we are in big big trouble.

    • Jan Dinkins

Yes, Obama is a Muslim. He has admitted that so many times but to the deaf ears of his idolators. The Muslim Brotherhood, once again, proclaimed this week that Israel is their number one target and they have wasted no time in the rape and slaughter of Christians in Egypt. This was Obama’s plan. It would not take a rocket scientist to know that the Muslim Brotherhood(the grand daddy of all radical, Sharia law Muslims) is waiting in the wings to take the reins in Muslim areas that fall into chaos and rioting. The take over of Israel and the big satan(the U.S.) won’t be far behind if they continue to have the support handed to them by a traitor such as Obama.

      • Neil Swan

Obama is a christian, he’s just not a religious right nut like a lot of people making comments here. He said we are not a christian nation which is true. You can believe in any religion or none at all in this country. The religious right are trying to produce religious law and make us a christian nation. So you can’t follow anything but what they believe in. They should just follow their own religion and not push it down everyone elses throat.

      • DaveH

Obama says he is a Christian, Neil. But then Obama says a lot of things that aren’t true. With liars you must learn to pay attention to their actions, not their words.

      • http://naver samurai

I’ve read the bible front to back have any of you? I’m an Atheist. Obama’s father came from Muslim backrpound but Barrack barely knew him. He was exposed to Islam as a young boy in Indonesia as his mother had him enrolled in a private school for better education and the only ones there were Islamic. His exposure to this was probably a huge benefit in prparing him for his present job because he has a better understanding of Islam than most. That doesn’t make him a Muslim any more than my reading the entire bible would make me a Christain. I have a Qaran as well but haven’t had the opportunity to read it exept for the beginning. Our constitution contains a clause that states, “Thee shall be NO religious test to hold public office”. The not as religious as you think they were founders recognized the need for this because of the practice in the colonies of being required to belong and attend church to hold office and the founders including Washington did not like being controlled by the church. Washington refused to allow a preacher near him on his death b ed because of a falling out he had with the pastor of his church many years before. If you just look to the Islamic countries who take their religion more seriously than the exteremists here you can see the damage and inflexibilty it breeds.

      • http://naver samurai

Yes David, I have. I’ll bet you I’ve read it more from cover to cover than you have, my wife more than me. Obama bin Laden is no Christian, but a muslim. Your whole post bears no merit. You’re an atheist? I see that is your main problem. Neeeeed to be making that popping sound. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • chuckb

    Hi!, Libertarians Et Al:

Based upon Greshams Law which was innoculated within Article !; Secion !0 of the United States Constitution, the value/quality of our Fort Knox gold, locality of our Fort Knox gold, quantity of our Fort Knox Gold, was to be determined by the fact that the gold would be in our collective pockets and not housed somewhere else, regardless of all the other outlying arguments regards Socialism vs. Capitalism add nosiam. We are making a simple matter of distribution of wealth far too complicated here for the masses to grasp on a common and understandable basis. Somehow over the length of time sinse the Constitution was produced to today, Article 1; Section 10 has been reduced down to mean we should be asking about how much gold is in some faraway hideaway known as Fort Knox etc. overseen by armed guards for our sake? Not even Ron Paul would put this gold in our pockets would he? Give the masses more fiat paper that depreciates or melts in their hands while they await the new posts on prices; instead of the steady prices that occompany stable money which is not gold backed but gold itself like our Constitution calls for us to have? This will plague us until dooms day if we don’t settle it honestly in a way that we are asked by our Constitution; not mere politiacl figureheads making those decisions for us.

  • Stan Hathcock

For Obama to say he has no control and there is nothing he can do about the price of gas is a blatant lie. I remember in the early 80′s when the oil companies were trying to gouge the public by raising the price of gas significantly. Mr President Ronald Regan got on one of his “fireside chats” and told the American people that if anybody, oil companies, gas stations or whoever was caught gouging the public that they would feel the weight of the federal government on their throats. He warned all the “powers” that it would not be tolerated. Guess what, the price of gas went down to previous levels because he froze the price and capped it at a certain dollar amount, and that ended the rapid rise in the price of gasoline. So Obama and Bush both lied about having no control over the price of gas. Apparently, they or someone the “love” is profiting from this present gouging of the public. Doesn’t matter if Democrat or Republican, the last several years has just been taking advantage of the public and putting money in their pockets.

Thank you, especially the more intelligent contributors for renewing my faith in this country. When I hear brainwashed socialists like this Galt who blames free enterprise for all of our problems–it just amazes me that he thinks that socialism-where the government takes money away from those who make it -when that cash cow gives out and there is no money left to run much of anything. Dependency on others is his answer to everything. What a thief.

  • Wisesooth

I was born in the deepest part of the Great Depression. I was a young child in WW-II. I remember little or nothing first-hand. I have to rely upon others who recorded their observations. They are dead by now so they cannot defend themselves against the analyzers and spin artists that deliberately distort and seletc whatever they need to “prove” their theory and present it as fact. Much of what I receive about history, capitalism, socialism and everything in between does not pass the smell test or the giggle test.

Winners write history. Figures do not lie, but liars figure. Truth is one, but accounts of truth are far from unity. If we latch onto alleged truth too quickly, we might become the victim of another’s deceit. If we proclaim their message, we spread their manure. Tread carefully my fellow patriots. Do your own research, engage brain, and then present what you learned. Let the reader draw their own conclusions. Above all else, be civil and honest. I never convinced anyone of my way of thinking by insulting them.

  • Wisesooth

Smart Leadership Acknowledges Human Nature. Humans are not
perfect. That fact requires leaders to govern within a structure that:
    • Limits the power to abuse,
    • Enforces collaboration, and
    • Affirms the consent of the governed.
That same structure must restrict the ability of people to abuse others. We call this our rule of law.

Our founding fathers gave our nation the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and our Bill of Rights. They understood what they were up against from first-hand experience. That is why they gave us a Confederation of States with limited federal government and a republic instead of a pure democracy. They deliberately made it inefficient to make it very difficult for powerful people to seize control. They wrote “PROVIDE for the common defense and PROMOTE the general welfare.” “Provide” is a mandate; “promote” is a sales project.
The founders used three key principles to limit personal power:
    • Separation of power,
    • Balance of power, and
    • Limitation of power.
They also did not trust majority rule. An electoral college chooses a President and Vice President of the United States. Our US Senate provides equal representation of each State. The House of Representatives is based upon the distribution of our population. Our US Supreme Court is independent of all other federal government once a President appoints a new justice that the US Senate confirms. Justices serve for life or retirement, whichever occurs first.

In spite of its flaws, our nation survived civil and foreign wars, survived its shortcomings, and grew to become the most successful economy on earth, until now.

About 3 – 4 % of our population has what our legal system calls a “criminal insanity.” The worst mental disorder is the psychopath. This person has no sense of right or wrong. The psychopath never understands good and evil.

The second worst disorder (and most common) is the sociopath. These people know what they do, but do not care. This is the classic con artist, thief, burglar, swindler, drug dealer, and “white collar” criminal.

These people behave with ultimate selfishness. They know the difference between good and evil and right from wrong. It’s all about them. Others do not matter. The sociopath comes in two forms. The anti-social personality disorder is a neurosis. It cannot be cured. Their brain is just wired that way. The anti-social conduct disorder is a psychosis and is treatable. Addiction creates this disorder as a side-effect. Heal the addiction and the disorder disappears with therapy.

Some people just choose this type of behavior. Cicero (a Roman orator and philosopher of note) called them epicureans. Their goal is to maximize pleasure and minimize pain to live their own life to its fullest. These people do not believe in a higher power or an afterlife. Not all atheists behave this way. Most call themselves “secular humanists.” These people believe that the best way to live life to the fullest is through orderly group conduct. They may follow moral conduct because that seems to be consistent with their personal objectives: to live OUR (not just MY) life to its fullest.

People with these two psychological disorders share a common unquenchable thirst for power. This urge makes them very dangerous. If they are allowed to govern, lead a private-sector corporation, or become a spiritual religious leader, the results are predictable (all bad). Some have additional disorders that enhance their dangerous and sometimes deadly behavior. Charles Manson, Adolf Hitler, Kaiser Wilhelm, Saddam Hussein, and Myanmar Qaddafi are examples.

Our Country is in great danger militarily, economically, morally and politically. What remedies do you expect from others? What will YOU do about it?

On another note about personal liberties:

In a startling example of government tyranny, a man was
jailed–without bond–for two days and strip searched for not
finishing the siding on his house.

Jail time for unfinished home siding?

He was then required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet at
all times while on house arrest. He was also required to submit to
random alcohol and drug testing, by blowing into another monitoring

For unfinished siding on his house?
