America No Longer The Land Of The Free

The President and all 535 members of Congress take oaths to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. One has to wonder how many have ever read it. They certainly seem hell-bent on disregarding it.

Article 1, Section 1 says all legislative powers are vested in Congress, which consists of a Senate and a House of Representatives. That’s apparently no longer the case, although I can’t find where that was legally changed through an Amendment.

The Environmental Protection Agency believes it holds legislative power. According to U.S. News & World Report: “Two new EPA pollution regulations will slam the coal industry so hard that hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, and electric rates will skyrocket 11 percent to over 23 percent, according to a new study based on government data.”

There is no Constitutional authority for an EPA, nor is there Constitutional authority for Congress to cede its lawmaking powers to the EPA. But apparently, Congress doesn’t care.

The EPA is just one of dozens of Federal agencies that have taken it upon themselves to regulate and control the lives of Americans while Congress sits idly by. Many of the bureaucrats who run these regulatory agencies are appointed by the President, so they do his bidding.

When Boeing decided to build 30 percent of its 737s in South Carolina, the National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint in an effort to force the company back into the unionized Washington plant. In effect, the President — through his politically appointed board — was telling a company where it could and could not conduct business. This is Third World thuggery.

The President, ordered by a court to resume granting drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico, directed his Secretary of Interior to disregard the court. No drilling permits are issued. The feckless court system does nothing. There is no rule of law left in America.

We currently have wars going on in five Middle Eastern countries — Afghanistan (which should be over, since we supposedly fulfilled the goal of killing Osama bin Laden), Iraq (which should be over, since we supposedly fulfilled our goal of toppling Saddam Hussein), Pakistan (undeclared and illegal), Libya (undeclared and illegal) and Yemen (undeclared and illegal) — with no end to them in sight.

Aside from a few lone voices — Representatives Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) and Ron Paul (R-Texas) and Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — Congress, which alone has the authority to declare war, says nothing. In fact, 265 members of the House — Democratic and Republican alike — voted against a resolution to end the unConstitutional war in Libya.

There are grave doubts that President Barack Obama is a natural born citizen and eligible to hold the office of President. He refuses to release any documents that would show who he is and where he comes from. He finally released a long-form birth certificate that he says proves he is natural born, but more and more document experts have come forth to show the document a forgery. It is apparently a compilation of birth certificates from others born in Hawaii at the time of Obama’s reported birth. There is increasing evidence Obama committed some kind of fraud to obtain his Social Security number, which came from Connecticut, a State in which Obama never lived or worked.

People who bring up these issues are automatically dismissed by the corporate media talking heads as quacks and labeled “Birthers” in an effort to marginalize them. Congress, with the duty to investigate and remove the President if he is found to be ineligible for the office, runs from the issue. Again, the members of Congress refuse to uphold their oaths to the Constitution.

The Department of Homeland Security and local police forces have vans and trucks patrolling our streets with the capability of looking inside passing cars and into homes. The Transportation Security Administration forces airline passengers into choosing between harmful naked-body scanners or full-body groping sessions for the “crime” of buying an airline ticket. The grope-and-peek procedures are being expanded to include rail travel and attendance at sporting events and concerts, and technology is being developed to allow agents to funnel large crowds of people through mobile command centers so they can be questioned while computers monitor their physiology as they respond.

Law enforcement uses parabolic antennas to listen in on far-away conversations, video cameras to follow people’s every move and face recognition software to identify them — even if they have not been charged or convicted of a crime.

These actions are blatant violations of the 4th Amendment. Congress does nothing… and says little.

When States do try to take a stand — as Texas did recently in considering legislation to ban the TSA from performing its gropefest/pornshow activities there — the thugocracy in Washington that is the Obama Justice Department threatened to impose a no-fly zone. This is a direct assault on Article IV Section 2 of the Constitution, which states: “The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all the Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.”

Any time a State attempts to nullify a law or regulation that it deems unConstitutional, it is threatened by the Justice Department, sued or refused funds. Those funds, by the way, go to the Federal government after they are taken from workers who have no choice but to comply with the onerous tax code or go to prison.

The 4th Amendment, the one that guarantees Americans the right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, was eviscerated by a recent Supreme Court ruling that gave police license to enter a home without first obtaining a warrant if they hear what they deem suspicious sounds inside.

The USA Patriot Act, passed while the rubble of the World Trade Center still smoldered following the false flag terrorist attack of 9/11, gave the Federal government license to create all sorts of reasons and excuses to surreptitiously listen in on electronic conversations, rifle through bank records and imprison people without trial.

Local police departments are becoming increasingly militarized. In Chicago, an armed SWAT team forced its way into a home and stole the daughter of a woman who chose an alternative treatment option for her child’s behavioral problems — a treatment she originally sought voluntarily. In Pima County, Ariz., police fired 71 shots in seven seconds at a former Marine who had served two tours of duty in Iraq. Saying they were there to serve a narcotics search warrant, officers first claimed Jose Guerena shot first. That lie fell apart because the safety of his weapon was still on.

According to a report by the Cato Institute, this sort of thing is becoming increasingly common: “Over the last 25 years, America has seen a disturbing militarization of its civilian law enforcement, along with a dramatic and unsettling rise in the use of paramilitary police units (most commonly called Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT) for routine police work. The most common use of SWAT teams today is to serve narcotics warrants, usually with forced, unannounced entry into the home.

“These increasingly frequent raids, 40,000 per year by one estimate, are needlessly subjecting nonviolent drug offenders, bystanders, and wrongly targeted civilians to the terror of having their homes invaded while they’re sleeping, usually by teams of heavily armed paramilitary units dressed not as police officers but as soldiers. These raids bring unnecessary violence and provocation to nonviolent drug offenders, many of whom were guilty of only misdemeanors. The raids terrorize innocents when police mistakenly target the wrong residence. And they have resulted in dozens of needless deaths and injuries, not only of drug offenders, but also of police officers, children, bystanders, and innocent suspects.”

The streets are no longer safe from police harassment and overreaction as, more and more, it seems police believe they are above the law. All across the country, thanks to the growing proliferation of cell-phone and video cameras, law enforcement is shown to be abusing citizens for simply doing what people do: taking photographs, talking to one another and observing police actions. It is not uncommon for people to be detained and have their cameras and cell phones taken away or destroyed if police officers believe they will be cast in a bad light.

We now have a quasi-military roaming the streets terrorizing citizens, a Congress neglecting its authority, a Supreme Court disregarding the Bill of Rights and a President — who may not even be eligible for the office — taking on the powers of a dictator through his regulatory agencies and so-called Justice Department.

America, land of the free? Not anymore.

          You betcha – Bush created, albeit a bit late, those nightmares after Katrina. That was the worst example of what this country can’t do right. The poor devils who had to live in those catastrophes are really a testimony to indifference. I haven’t yet see what happened at Joplin, but it seems to be better. Were any of those poor souls sent to Leavenworth?

        The concentration camps are already here. Unfortunately, like you, most people do not know they even exist, but are completely set up and waiting for use, while the government has been hiring and training personel as guards for these facilities for the last two years. FEMA, whose budget is held in secrecy because of these camps and the personel to staff them, has been converting old factories and closed military bases into these concentration camps for the last 10 years. In Montana, FEMA has placed thousands of railroad box cars, with shackles bolted to the floors, on old dead-head rail systems, and refuses to say what they are for. On many military bases, strategically dispersed across the USA, their are many foreign military personel, in black uniforms, supposedly going through some type of special training, why and for what purpose and why don’t they wear the uniform of the country’s military from where they come, or are the black uniforms not going to upset the American people and hide the fact that these people belong to a foreign military? These are all true facts that have been published and proven on the internet, investigate and find out for yourself what is going on under the noses of the American people, I just don’t know who is behind this, maybe the Bilderberg Group, contolers of the ‘One World Government’, and has power over our officials who run our government, the non-elected ones as well as the elected ones.

            In my heart I’m with you & I have some training as well. However, at 800 yards you will most likely become cannon fodder as they shell the heck out of you while the rest of the battalion sits at a safe distance.

            Even if you’re next door to a nursing home or elementary school I’m sure they wouldn’t care. They would just mark it up as “that’s war”. Sick? Absolutely. Without precedent? Hardly.

            I am guessing, though, that any military uprising would have to be urban level and without any defined lines – as unconventional as possible. Otherwise, any uprising would become a victim to the great firepower held by military forces, especially our own.

Yes there are blacks and people of mixed race Christians in this great nation. By the way is there something in the constitution that says you have to be of so-called pure race and Christian to be president? You cannot be Jewish, Catholic, Jehovah Witness? Or anything but mixed race/ half-breed. Whatever you plan to use at 800 feet use it to bring tolerance into your life. There are even black and mixed race conservatives who do not agree with this president, though remarks like yours make it hard for some to remain conservative.

If you read real history, you will find that the US government experimented (several different ways) on it’s own people during the 1930s and 1940s. Wake up and read real and stop being so uninformed. Read about the USS Liberty, June 8, 1967, I was in the Navy then and what you read about that incident is a watered down version of the truth. That ship was set up and was suppose to sink with the crew on board, but it never would sink. The attach on that ship was not 20 minutes like the report said, the crew and the captain claims the attack when on for over 2 hours, and it wasn’t an accident, because when the USS Liberty cried for help, President Johnson said, “Let that damn sink to the bottom of the ocean, before we Embarrass our alias
            That was an intelligence ship and they heard the communication being broadcasted and then they knew they had been set up by their own government to Eliminated, out of a crew of about 270 men. fortunately only 34 died and 176 wounded. Read Wikipedia (the entire article) it tells more of the truth.

Obama does everything all according to what the Anti-Christ is gonna do, as predicted in the Bible, in Revelations and the Apocalypse.         Afghanistan is the land of the free and unfettered – no taxes, no state education, no land grant colleges, no health care, no capital gains tax, no import or export duties, freedom to carry and use firearms at will, no government toll roads, no stop signs, no traffic lights, no women’s rights, no restriction on child labor, opportunity for revenge killings if we don’t like what is done to us. Lets all ask for their system to be embraced by the Tea Party or Libertarians – they’ve got it right.

And that went out when people learned that they were interdependent. No – you’d be better off in Afghanistan, taking care of yourself and only yourself. Anything beyond that, of course, is flat out Socialism, and you want no part of that. We keep hearing from many here that limited government and small government are one and the same when the limits of the constitution (laws) does not define government by size but by laws that are enforced by law which imposes limits without imposing size. Small government in the USA today is a conservative definition not defined in law so that makes it pure rhetoric not law. Democracy does not work that is why California has so many crazy laws made by majority vote of the people rather than the elected representatives of which many have been overturned by the courts because the majority votes on making law rather than representatives making laws. Republicans in MN are going that route at the present time and it will make bad law as it has in California and many other states. It is interesting that the federal government makes no laws that way but states do. Disputes over what is constitutional law and what is not is decided by the courts. What I see so much of today is people wanting the courts to interpret the constitution as they wish it to be and not what it actually is and when the courts displease them they are call radical judges because they would not by their ruling make it a law to their liking rather that to uphold the Constitution for what it actually is.

            Well actually the clip DOES discuss this. It even points out WHY the founders went out of their way to AVOID majority rule. The Constitution is the supreme law. Changing it requires 3/4 of the states to agree. Hardly “majority rule”.

            Neither the house nor senate nor president can make law that is beyond the scope of what they are allowed in the Constitution. No majority there.

            I believe that all of the schooling systems are beneficial, in the right doses. My kids got home schooling, they got some parochial schooling, and they got public schooling after the others. And were prepared for it!

            And, as noted also by the experiences of others, they have since done very well at the college level, and in their professions.

            I am a firm believer in the variety in education, and believe that our school taxes should be available for private schooling as well as public. Private and home schooling have public benefits and so should be supported!!

            BTW, I had a dream the other night about having an urgency to meet with “Daniel”. So I began to re-study the prophet Daniel, where he has visions of the latter days.

            In chapter 8, he talkis about kings and kingdoms that rise, but not by their own power (!).

      Let me say that I have been troubled by all this ever since Bush declared war and the “Patroit Act” went into effect. I saw all this coming and there was nothing I could do about it. I have recently been reading an excellent book called “The Miracle of Freedom: 7 Tipping points that Saved the World” by Charles Stewart. In the entire history of civilization approx 110 Billion people have lived on this planet. Out of that total only about 6.5 Billion have lived under anything even closely resembling a “Free” society – 6.5% . The common form of govt. in this world has always been a form of dictatorship – our little experiment with Democracy/Republic has been an aberration as far as the rest of the world is concerned. But “we” managed to pull it off – for awhile. People have become lazy, entitled,lazy – and figure that they will always have rights and privledges – without having to work for them. The Founding fathers had the guts to stand up and put an end to the dictatorial practices of Great Britain. We have to find the courage to stand up to the politicos and tell them either put-up or shut-up and get out of the way.

        I’ve read both “The Real Lincoln” and “Lincoln Unmasked.” Anyone who falls for the obviously one-sided, cherry-picked, poorly researched claims of the author without checking original source docmentation is….well, I’ll avoid the insult.

        Lincoln was not a saint, but neither was he a demon, as DiLorenzo would have you swallow. He was a man beset by a situation over which his only culpability was having the bad luck of being elected to office. The crisis he faced upon inauguration, after seven states had already seceded, was a challenge that NO president, before or after, had to face. His actions were imperfect, sometimes illegal, and as Gore Vidal said, “yes, he was a dictator, out of military necessity.”

        DiLorenzo wants you to swallow the canard that Lincoln wanted war in order to centralize government and make it more intrusive into our personal affairs. Yet tell me, a president-elect who is willing to go so far as to abridge his anti-slavery sentiments by endorsing a Constitutional Amendment fully legalizing slavery, in order to keep the Union together: now, does that sound like a would-be dictator to you?

        Some radical Libertarians will have you believe that life in a Republic can go on without any curtailment of liberties in time of war. Well, wake up and smell the cordite! Temporary suspension of civil rights has been done throughout the history of republics in order to save those republics. Whether or not those temporary (and Constitutionally legal) suspensions are made permanent, is another matter that has no bearing on this argument. For God’s sake, Lincoln and the nation had hardly weathered the tragedy of war when he was assassinated, so we’ll never know whether the temporary measures would have been lifted. But Lincoln’s expressed sentiments give us a clue.

        Read his second inaugural speech: “With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.” Yes, that really sounds like a calloused and scheming dictator, doesn’t it?

        And why was he assassinated? Because John Wilkes Booth was present at Lincoln’s speech (his last one) two days before the tragedy, “preparing the nation to accept African American citizenship. Lincoln concluded this speech by telling the gathered crowd to expect a further announcement.”

        “One man in the audience understood perfectly what Lincoln intimated. John Wilkes Booth told his companion, “That means n—– citizenship. Now, by God, I’ll put him through. That is the last speech he will ever make.” ( http://www.las.illinois.edu/news/lincoln/lastspeech/ )

        Perhaps the greatest damage done by charlatans such as DiLorenzo is to aid and abet the leftists in this country in doing everything they can to denigrate and discredit the great leaders of the past. Rothbard, on that same Mises site, excoriated George Washington for attempting to instill military discipline in his troops. Unbelievable.

        No sir, don’t read DiLorenzo’s works in a vacuum. And by all means, read the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Northwest Ordinance, Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, Kansa-Nebraska Act, platforms of the Democrats and Republicans of 1856 and 1860, secession declarations and the constitution of the CSA (all original source documents and not third-hand speculations of a biased provocateur) if you are undecided as to the proximate cause of the Civil War: SLAVERY!

          Everything DiLorenzo says is backed up by references. All you need do is a little thinking. Just the fact that Lincoln has been presented as such a saint should wake people up to reality. No man is as good as we were taught in the propaganda schools. Three of his generals broke the commonly accepted rules of war and involved civilians, women, and children in their destruction, especially General Sherman. Can any of you possibly believe that Lincoln lived in the kind of vacuum as not to be aware? And countries around the world abolished slavery the peaceful way. Why would Lincoln (if slavery abolition was really his goal) choose to do it the deadly way? The things DiLorenzo addresses in his books are well-documented including the Central banking, the subsidization of railroads, etc.
          I don’t know what Vigilant’s motivation is, but he sure is rabid in his pursuit to keep people from learning the truth.

            I have conclusively proven you to be in error on at least two recent instances, and without insult. If you’ve gathered nothing else about my nature since I’ve posted on this site, you will (no doubt begrudgingly) admit that my sole focus has been on the truth. Yes, I indeed “get that bone in [my] bulldog mouth,” because it’s the bone of truth, and that is something I will forever hold on to, regardless of the brickbats and insults that come from those who have no familiarity with, or appreciation for, wisdom. That, sir, is my motivation.

            I am indeed “rabid in [my] pursuit,” but it’s a pursuit of truth and nothing less. Sometimes that truth leads me to point out that the views expressed by some otherwise clear thinking people on the right of the political spectrum are based on incorrect source data or urban myths. I have always made it clear that I hold the right wing to a higher standard than I do the lying leftists, because we expect it from the statists. Much greater harm is done to the Conservative or Libertarian cause, and leaves us open to criticism, when propaganda or misinformation is used, no matter how unwitttingly.

            Twice I have tried to extend the olive branch to you and twice you have rejected it by not even dignifying yourself with a response. So be it. Your intransigence on this point merely divulges your pettiness.

            As for Reading DiLorenzo, yes, I would also strongly invite everyone to read both of his books on Lincoln. However, I take it one step further and say, “don’t make up your mind until you’ve read the original source documents and other historians (they are not all “Lincoln Cultists”). Both DiLorenzo and DaveH would keep you away from these sources because they’ve either not read them, or else seek to forward a point of view they know is biased and unfounded.

            (1) In an earlier exchange, you said the constiution of the CSA had provisions to eventually eradicate slavery. I called you out on it and you had to admit your error.

            The Confederate Constitution stated that no new states would be slave states. I didn’t qualify that in my comment, saying instead that their Constitution abolished slavery. Whoopee, an egregious error.

            There were flaws in both Constitutions. People are flawed. Take for instance this clause in the Constitution of the US:
            “[Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.]“.
            But the fact remains that the Confederacy kept the door open to eliminate slavery in the new states in their Constitution. Why would a people who would put that in their Constitution fight a vicious war over Slavery? And why would any Government that abhors slavery allow 4 Slave states to coexist and fight on the side of the North? They wouldn’t. The war was fought over many issues, mostly to do with the North running over the South politically. The blacks were used as Pawns by the hypocritical North.
            And why would anybody expect the “whole” truth from a man who made this statement on this same page “I’ve also, with regard to Conservatives or Libertarians on this forum, argued with conviction and not insult”, and then proceed to viciously attack me personally (and DiLorenzo)? Just read his comments to see what I mean.

            I will state again, just read the book, judge for yourself. Don’t take my word, and certainly not Vigilant’s word for it.             What would most of the rest of the historians have to gain? Plenty, as most of them are paid in one way or the other by Big Government (you know, don’t bite the hand that feeds you). And why would Big Government want people to know the truth about the evils of Big Government?

            The sentence is clearly written and straightforward in grammar, spelling and construction. Perhaps it’s the word “abridge” that you have trouble with: it means “to curtail or lessen.”

            To make it clearer to you, Lincoln was putting aside his views on slavery to keep the South in the Union. To endorse an amendment that would Constitutionally perpetuate slavery was a radical move that shows he would do almost anything to keep the Union together. Today we would call it “appeasement.” Lincoln opened himself up to being accused of hypocrisy for doing so, but never a man with dictatorial aspirations. He did the opposite of what a wannabe dictator would do.

            Dictators don’t appease or attempt to accommodate their opposition. The war would have been avoided, for a period of time at least, if the South hadn’t been so pigheaded and instead had accepted the amendment.

            I believe Wikipedia also has the text of the potential 13th amendment that was never ratified.

            You might want to throw in John Calhoun’s speech where he belittles Thomas Jefferson ideals. More than any person, Calhoun was the one who put the country on the road to war.

            I’ve read all of these, have you? Do you not think you just might expand your knowledge if you did read them? And which is the more powerful argument, one from an economist with an axe to grind who tries to write a few history books, or the words from the horses’ mouths? I also read DiLorenzo’s books, and they are drivel.

            P.S. Vicki, if you have even ONE fact to dispute ANYTHING I’ve said, bring it forward! Unless you do like DaverH and brand anyone who disagrees with him (and provides FACTS) a leftist plant (and he fully knows he’s lying).             Don’t worry Vigilant. I am not going to stop reading what you have to say. Unlike typical liberals you do provide supporting documentation and have not very often resorted to ad hominem attack. That seems to be a recent behaviour in your debates with DaveH.

            As to your being liberal or not, keep in mind that for some conservatives I probably have appeared to grow 3 heads on them when I come out in support of gay marriage or ending the war on (some) drugs.

            That is because I am more of a libertarian / Constitutionalist than a Republican or Conservative.

            I do list the reasons for my positions and hope that I am being consistent. Having a moral compass that is immune to alinskyite attack (shades of grey, no right or wrong, what is truth…) helps but I may still have some liberal (or conservative) propaganda stuck in my system so forgive me please and point it out.

          Lincoln was in a very tough spot. He indeed have to make some hard choices…but it always was done w/trying to keep this great Nation united.

          The wear upon him was dramatic combined with his medical problems. The loss of his child…the damage this did to his wife…the fragmenting of America…you can see it in his eyes.

          All in all…honestly, I do believe he was a good man striving in a very tough situation to keep his beloved country together.

          Kudos to you, Vigilant for what you posted and thank you for taking the time to do so.

            I’m sure Lincoln did questionable things, but I just don’t believe that he was all bad.

            You do know that it has been a goal of those who would bring down America to denigrate men we have held as American heros, in order to break the American spirit and cause us to loathe our roots. I have seen books which paint Washington and our other founders as “evil white men” who have been undeservedly admired and honored. (Washington’s b’day was even taken away.) I’m sure those who read those books have an entirely different view of our beginnings than we learned. And yet, they came up with a system that was good if adhered to with vigilance.

            Just because we don’t all invest our perception of things by the opinions of a single author doesn’t mean that we are…whatever it is you think that we are.

            I have read hundreds of books, and each one was written by someone who had personal views colored by ideology. If I were to take any one of them as gospel I’d have very limited ideas about things.

            The truth is, none of us were around then, so we are left to speculation about Lincoln based on documents of the time. They don’t always tell the whole story, nor can we have a full understanding of a man we never knew. And different men will see all of those things through different light.

            You are entitled to your opinion. I still reserve judgment about Lincoln. Apparently, others do, too.

            We have commented on items in these forumns for some time and I think you know me well enough to know that the only Agenda I follow…is that of having America be what we all grew up believing her to be. Free & Independant.

            It wasn’t until about 2 years ago that I figured out why things are the way they are for a reason. That indeed, there is a secret Agenda being followed and that Agenda is not about Liberty or Freedom for us. It’s about the destruction of America and our sovereignity by the bankers and their secret societies. They wish for a one world government (corporation) and in order to do so…they must sow world discord & then try to ride in like they have the answer to it all…when they are the ones who created the problems to begin with! Much like how our government creates a crisis & this then gives them cause to declare war to then sweep in & accomplish the real goals that they are pursuing.

            Investigate. Expose & Reveal. Prosecute. Then confiscate their enormous wealth & resources…not to necessarily disseminate amongst the people but to erase the debts, take care of the homeless & hungry of the world…to try & put the world back online to what she would be if these meddling social degenerates hadn’t been messing it all up to begin with.

            Yes…I’m sorry…but the continual images that I keep seeing on tv & the movies plus the research that I have been following has indeed…led me to believe that it’s the Secret Societies fault for our world being the way that it is. That it is them, the deep level Masonic members who worship lucifer and are following the Agenda to make our world the way that it is on purpose. The money trail says so…History says so…and my gut instinct tells me so as well. All my life I knew something was wrong but it wasn’t until about 2 years ago that I put my finger on the reason why.

            May we all find a way to avoid what is coming. Only by standing in the light of God can this happen and only by an educated public supported by willing Patriots can we see this through.

            Last night I finished watching Vol I of the History Channel’s “Abraham Lincoln: His Life and Legacy.” An excellent work, and I was impressed that it strove to be honest about Lincoln, not fawning and overly complimentary. From your comments, I suspect you’ve seen it too.

            His bouts with depression, the tragedies in his life, and the terrible toll the war took on him were indeed awful. As the documentary makes clear, he was no saint, especially in his earlier years. But he was in no way an evil man. He was a human being, beset by many serious problems and challenges. His steadfastness and perseverence in the face of the awful fact of Civil War, tempered and strengthened him in its own way, but his depressive nature made him more sensitive to the sufferings and death on the battlefields of the war.

            No matter how you cut it, and no matter what his motives were, Lincoln freed the slaves and nurtured, to the extent he could, the 13th Amendment. His last speech was heading toward advocation of full citizenship for the freed slaves (which meant full voting rights), and it cost him his life.

            I don’t expect Dave to appreciate the patriotic feelings that are called up when I think of Lincoln. Dave said in an earlier forum words to the effect that patriotism is just another way for big government to get you to show obedience. I strongly disagree with him on that. Even the Founders knew that our Republic couldn’t survive in the absence of a love for the principles of its founding, an appreciation for the great blessings we have, and a solemn reverence for the thousands of casualities sustained to preserve our freedom.

            I personally think we need to relook at the Amendments & who the people were that helped put them in place. What organizations were they attached to (or secret societies)? How about the one that let’s anchor babies be called American’s after being born by 2 illegals? Does that make sense to anyone? That interpertation has helped screw up our wonderful country…just for starters.

            Well now, DaveH, that is YOUR estimation of how I do things.

            I have been at this for MANY years, and I don’t just “grab onto” every conspiracy theory I read. I do a great deal of research, including things I can see for myself (I don’t walk around with my eyes closed to things I don’t want to see), I ask a lot of questions, and I look to see where the evidence comes from. It is only after looking at many angles that I decide whether it has any credibility to me.

            It may appear to you that there is nothing to back things up, but that’s only because you’ve never checked them out. You seem to only believe what you can see for yourself, but then, we all see only what we let ourselves see, and even that is subject to question.

            If we don’t ask the tough questions, we are nothing more than sheep. You can discount things you call “conspiracy theories”, but I say, where there is smoke there is fire, and if we don’t investigate we’ll just be hapless victims.

            I have never been one to be a victim, or to sit around and pretend all is above board when all the evidence is to the contrary.

            I have readily admitted that what I think may not necessarily be the absolute truth. However, things are amiss in our world, and I will dig until I have the answers, whether I like them or not.

            As for Lincoln, I still reserve judgment. There was a reason people in high places wanted him out of the way.

            My, how humane of the confederates! The US Constitution had already outlawed that practice as of 1808! I’d say the CSA was a little behind the times, huh?

            Moreover, the Reublican Party platform of 1860 states, “NINTH. That we brand the recent reöpening of the African slave trade, under the cover of our national flag, aided by perversions of judicial power, as a crime against humanity, and a burning shame to our country and age, and we call upon congress to take prompt and efficient measures for the total and final suppression of that execrable traffic.”

            That would seem to me to say that the South was illegally engaged in a Constitutionally prohibited trade as late as 1860. And now they were going to belatedly outlaw it in their Constitution? How gracious!

          Hmmm……..well, I saw a documentary a few years ago on ultra liberal PBS about Lincoln, which disputed the slavery thing. Lincoln did not use the slavery issue until towards the end of the civil war. According to this documentary, Lincoln did not like negroes. He wanted them to be deported to the Dominican Republic. He insulted Frederick Douglass on several occasions by refusing to meet with him about the abolition of slavery. This documentary stated that the Civil War was initially fought about taxation, states rights, and ultimately slavery. http://www.ket.org/civilwar/causes.html

          As far as the John Wilkes Booth info, that is true. JWB was present at Lincoln’s second inauguration, as he was invited to be there by his fiance’s family. He said he could have shot Lincoln right then and there as he was standing close enough to Lincoln to do it.

            Please understand that he had no desire or need to use the issue in the early war years. His focus was entirely on the object of preserving the Union. Slavery was the issue that started the war in the first place. Please refer to the Democratic Party platform of 1856:

            “And that we may more distinctly meet the issue on which a sectional party, subsisting exclusively on slavery agitation, now relies to test the fidelity of the people, north and south, to the constitution and the Union—

            1. Resolved, That claiming fellowship with and desiring the cooperation of all who regard the preservation of the Union under the constitution as the paramount issue, and repudiating all sectional parties and platforms concerning domestic slavery which seek to embroil the states and incite to treason and armed resistance to law in the territories, and whose avowed purpose, if consummated, must end in civil war and dis-union…”

            Those last 13 words are the key to the whole issue. It was the ONLY place in the platform that talked about armed insurrection, and it was dealing solely with slavery, not tariffs or taxation, or anything else but slavery.

            That part, as far as I’m informed, is true. Lincoln, as with most Northerners, was convinced of the inferiority of the Negro. His sentiments in this regard, however, did not extend to denying the Negro the freedom promised by the Declaration of Independence. Thus, while he advocated freeing the slaves, he was not sure what to do with them or what would happen to them after their freedom was granted. American presidents as far back as Washington had similar sentiments, and the political philosophers had dealt with that question on many occasions.

            I think it’s fair to say that Lincoln’s better nature eventually ruled, and thus when he ultimately intimated that the freed slaves should be entitled to full citizenship (in his last speech), it resulted in his assassination.

Look at Obummer’s record of increasing the size and scope (roughly 24% increase of outlays) of the government just since his inception.

        Hang on to your ‘pursuit of happiness’ people, for it is the direction that may still be attainable. Attainable through your perserverance and disemmination of the truth that a tyranical government that consumes all liberty of it subjects, while choking its own, will eventually collapse.             Indeed back to when the constitution was adhered to, back to when we were still somewhat fiscally responsible. Back to when people were motivated to set aside and plan for their OWN retirement. Back to when our industry was growing and becoming strong.

            Sure we need some money for the military (not to conduct wars of aggression but for real defense), to maintain infrastructure and some sort of safety net for those that have miss-happenings eg the disabled, the elderly and maybe low income working parents and the like but not the lazy maggots who refuse to work and are on welfare. This could be done with the revenue the Gov gets now and likely still have a surplus to pay the debt.

            Unfortunately what we have now is an overspending and wasteful Government that panders to a lazy group of losers that thinks they all should get something for nothing and get it now. Soon this lazy group is going to cry when the Economic Collapse hits harder than ever before just as we see happening in Europe bit by bit. If you think it won’t happen then I suggest you take a hard look at Europe in particular, Greece. The house is coming down. The entitlements this lazy group thinks they are owed is going to go away one way or the other. The lazy group will be on the streets and starving looking for food and won’t give a da-n who gets hurt when they take it.

            You see, what we do not need is a society growing up and thinking they are owed something by the part that works for a living. This is what we have now. This is a big reason why we are so far in debt, entitlements. That line of credit is just about gone. So unless we take steps to roll things back to some semblance of sanity in the fiscal arena, it is going to collapse and then there will be no safety nets, no money to support infrastructure and then there will be blood in the streets you can pretty much guarantee it. Too many people have this info at their finger tips. Too many know what will fix the problem (Fiscal Responsibility) and if the “toy” gets busted (economic collapse) John Doe (one of your 80 million average armed and working US citizens) is going to be looking for payback. The on the other side, as I stated above, you got the lazy group roving the streets looking for food, will it be yours they take? I don’t know, perhaps you will be among them and not a victim of them…

    Great Article Bob! Question is, “Who” is left to stop Washington Bureaucrats from doing ANYTHING! Every damned one of the offices, from the Presidency on down, through the Supreme Courts and into the Municipalities, each slice of bread is being buttered by the other. The corruption is so widespread, there isn’t enough “Good Men” left to change it. The sad truth is the “Spirit is Willing, but the Flesh is Weak”. Representatives are voted in with the right mind set, but are quickly set on the course of how its going to be, and ends up being business as usual, the only change taking place that its getting worse. The only entity Left with the power to change it is God himself.
    If you read original history, most all of our leaders consulted God in all works, but leaders have been driven away from religion in politics, because of the fabled line, of “the separation of Church and State”. Even the mere interpretation of that line is mostly wrong, what it means, that there will be no state church in which the Guv would dictate or support(such as England). Freedom of religion nullifies the statement. God eventually does what he’s told, we told him to “Get Out” of our lives, I believe this time he listened.

        You’re right on the money, David. WE are the ones who’ve let ourselves be brainwashed into accepting unconstitutional government in return for perceived, “security,” – of which we have none. Free enterprise is already mostly destroyed, personal liberties are non-extant under such legislation as the, “Patriot,” Act and regulatory agencies such as the EPA, our own government is destroying our individual wealth by monetizing the national debt and devaluing our currency, private property succumbed to unconstitutional use of public domain laws years ago and the few constitutional guarantees still respected are reserved to those who are doing their utmost to negate that document and the Bill of Rights. All of this is done to preserve our modern version of the old Roman grain dole.

          Right on – free enterprise has been eliminated by unbridled greed ala Wall Street, Halliburton, big oil, big insurance, and their kin. They own our government lock, stock, and barrel. Against their influence and that of the lobbyists, the rest of us are powerless. They bought the Supreme Court, they bought the House of Representatives, they’re off to buying everything else. When they are done with us, as many of you have said, we will have a perfect Fascist nation, with everyone not in that upper 1% essentially indentured servants of that 1%. Look at big business now – sitting on trillions, not investing it in anything that would create jobs, etc. What the hell good is it to cut their taxes or the taxes on the rich – they have so much stashed away that they won’t even begin to spend to get the country going again. Cut government further by eliminating teachers, trash collectors, police, firemen, the FAA, the EPA, etc., and you’ll add even more middle class workers to the underclass with no health care, no job, no retirement plan, no anything. And as best I can tell, these guys and gals weren’t on welfare, wanted to work hard and wanted to contribute. But as many of you say, public education and public health care is outright socialism – you should, even if you have lost your job, earn the money to pay for your kids’ education, or for their health care if they get leukemia from the benzene and styrene that factories dump into the rivers- you should have known better, you should have known that being educated is not a right or even an expectation, that sickness should be anticipated and saved up for, even if you can’t find work. And by the way, for all of you bloggers, how many of you are planting sweet potatoes, harvesting lettuce, picking strawberries for a living? Would you? Shoot straight, tell the truth.

I don’t believe you or I would want such a life parcel and sum. Take away the welfare vote from those who are able, but just too lazy to work. We need to tell Paul Ryan and the GOP to leave Medicare alone until we tell you what to do. For now just attack the Dermocrats for having the highest debt ceiling of all time, very high unemployment, rising food prices, and soaring fuel prices!

            I think we can count on those we elect, Robin, if we elect the right people, like Rand Paul, or Ron Paul. The problem is that control issues are pervasive throughout our population, and the inclination is for people to elect politicians who promise their Limited brand of Freedom. It’s like quitting smoking gradually. It doesn’t work. The citizens need to understand what real Freedom is, and sometimes it isn’t pretty. But the lack of Freedom is much uglier. We should be free to control our own bodies and property — free of meddling people in Government positions. Those who just can’t stomach their neighbors’ Freedom have gotten us to this point in our history.

            Nice responce Dan & I definitely agree with DaveH on this one even though he thinks ill of me. Sorry for that Brother…though we may disagree with each other on some topics…I do believe were on the same team.

            When “they” make their first move it will galvanize & awaken us fully. However, by taking first action it will hammer us hard. Many Patriots will be swept up & imprisoned. It will become extremely important to free these people from the FEMA camps as soon as possible as those camps will be designed to exterminate the loyalists. Some of our greatest human resources will be there…heck, maybe even me w/my special forces training which makes me a threat to them & their Agenda.

            We will lose alot of our important people if we don’t act swiftly. Also, if you think they will have trouble with exterminating our people think again. With so many foreign soldiers on our soil…it will be like the Holocaust all over again as they will have no qualms about the killing. Many will die.

            We must target the FEMA camps quickly to free them…remember my words if we begin to see this all happen.

            BrotherPatriot – We can’t all expect to agree on everything. I’m used to getting criticised and even ridiculed because I tend to look beyond the status quo, and I don’t necessarily accept prevailing thought. It’s hard being criticised for what we bring to the table, but it’s all part of the game.

            We all have our blindspots, things we don’t want to look at or know about. It’s easy to discount things that are outside of our realm of comfort, or seem unprovable. I’m just glad that we all have our own take on things and that we can still share with one another, so far. We shouldn’t take it personally if we don’t always agree.

            We all need each other more than ever. I hope we can all bear this in mind when we don’t see eye-to-eye. The day will soon come when we will be unable to communicate like this. I, personally, value every patriot who comes here.

        Floyd I agree with you on removing the well fare vote. as a truck driver I was required to undergo random drug screens. I think the people on wellfare should have to take a drug test befor they can be aproved for wellfare. once approved they should be subject to random drug screens just as truck drivers are, and again ANYONE ON WELLFARE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE VOTING PROCCESS,

          Better yet, get the care of the needy out of self-interested Government hands (buying votes) and put it back into the private sector where it belongs. Only local people know who is truly suffering misfortune and who is just gaming the system. People are very generous, on average, and more than happy to help those who, through no fault of their own, have suffered misfortune. And if we just cut Government back to 1950s levels, we would have more than enough wealth to help those who are truly misfortunate.

          You need to watch John Stossel, and Judge Napolitano on Fox Business Network. Maybe you would get a clue from that. Big Government is regulating the life out of our businesses. The regulations not only cost us money directly (salaries of the regulators), but they also cost us money by tying up business people in piles of paperwork compliance, which costs, by necessity, they must pass on to the consumers. The hidden costs of regulation come from the time spent to comply, and the time taken away from what the businesses should be doing — pleasing their customers. Also, many potentially productive people give up before they even get started when confronted with the daunting hurdles put before them when they try to start their own businesses.
          Get the Government out of the Marketplace!

          IF? Since profit is measured in dollars and not inflation adjusted dollars how can they fail to make record profits? With all the new money flowing in the system the price of goods has to go up. Record money in system begets record prices of goods and record “profits”.

There are countless ways to help those who want a job to get one….they all start with the government getting out of the way! Keep telling it like it is Vagabond. Not even all the Republicans seem to understand this. Make no mistake some of them need to go, not just the Democrats. I put the Republicans ahead by a slim margin, but that is all. Don’t ever hesitate to chew out those like Ryan who is hurting, not helping the party. He needs to drop the 55 and under, buy your own insurance deal and go back and ask us how it should be handled. Then they just may come up with a much better medicare program?

They will use this money to pay into the UN, the IMF for other poor countries to use, or give it to Brazil and Mexico, or other countries to drill over in their own country instead of here. Haven’t they heard that Obama gave Brazil 2.5 billion dollars to drill off the coast of Brazill, and told them that we would become their best customer in buying their oil. Haven’t they heard that Obama gave Mexico 1.5 billion dollars to drill in the Southern part of the Gulf at the same time he stopped all drilling in this country.       I think the problem is, Martin, that the Republican Leaders (most of them) don’t want Freedom for the citizens any more than the Democrats do. The Republican party got it’s start in the Lincoln days and there was heavy emphasis on Big Centralized Government with a militaristic and a mercantilistic policy.
      Jefferson knew that the tendency for Politicians was to seek more power and perks, and he tried his best to protect the citizens, but as the saying goes “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”.

      The Propaganda springing from those days is very evident in this statement from Wikipedia:
      “The Republican Party first came to power in 1860 with the election of Lincoln to the Presidency and Republicans in control of Congress and the northern states. It oversaw the saving of the union, the destruction of slavery, and the provision of equal rights to all men in the American Civil War and Reconstruction, 1861-1877.”
      The saving of the Union? What is so important about the “Union”? A Free people in the South didn’t want to be associated with the “Union” any longer. Why should they have to be? Remember we fought for South Vietnam’s right to go their own way. And also the same for Korea.
      So what was the price to deprive people of that choice in our own country? 600,000 lives lost and the economy was set back at least 5 years. Compared to today’s population, that would be like 6 million lives lost. Those, who think the war was fought over Slavery, have been mislead. Lincoln advocated sending the blacks out of our country to Liberia or someplace else. He advocated no new slave states, not because he favored the freedom of blacks, but because he didn’t want them to be in the new states. He wanted any newly-created states to be the domains of white people. The history of Lincoln, as we were taught by the public schools is a fraud.
      The first requisite, on the road to our reclaimed Freedom, is to get the education of our children out of propagandizing Government schools.

      There are grave doubts that President Barack Obama is a natural born citizen and eligible to hold the office of President. He refuses to release any documents that would show who he is and where he comes from. He finally released a long-form birth certificate that he says proves he is natural born, but more and more document experts have come forth to show the document a forgery. It is apparently a compilation of birth certificates from others born in Hawaii at the time of Obama’s reported birth. There is increasing evidence Obama committed some kind of fraud to obtain his Social Security number, which came from Connecticut, a State in which Obama never lived or worked.

      People who bring up these issues are automatically dismissed by the corporate media talking heads as quacks and labeled “Birthers” in an effort to marginalize them. Congress, with the duty to investigate and remove the President if he is found to be ineligible for the office, runs from the issue. Again, the members of Congress refuse to uphold their oaths to the Constitution.

    I’m positive there are hundreds more to ask, but let’s put this on the backs of those who took an oath to protect us from our enemies “BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC (Obama)”. Pester them until they come through with an answer to our satisfaction.

      I have written many times only to have my own words repeated back to me and no questions answered.

          “Ditto” for my experience. The staffs of the members of Congress supposedly representing my state and district respond as if they are robots to most of my many letters. They happen to be Democrats.

          I have long held the personal view that people whom many joke about and label disparagingly as rednecks are most likely to be the people who will stand up and actually physically fight for the principles on which our nation was founded.

            DaveR, join the crowd. I have written my Democratic Congressmen many, many times, and all I get back are the form letters, nothing of a personal note. Their staff sends out these already prepared letters and your Congress member never sees them. This shows you how much they respect you writing to them. My Democratic Congressman is Bob Casey from Pennsylvania. He will never get my vote as he is one of the Obama Zombies. We got rid of Arlen Specter in 2008, another Obama Zombie, and I hope the same thing happens to Senator Bob Casey in 2012. If the folks in his district knows him like I do, I know he will be voted out.

          I write my Republican representative and don’t even get an acknowledgement that the letter was received, asking rather straightforward questions about, for example, why health care premiums have increased over 70% in a year, co-pays for meds have quadrupled, co-pays increased, that have nothing whatsoever to do with the recent health care legislation.

        Same here. I did get a response back from my state’s governor one time, he literaly told me my view was wrong and that he would be doing what he felt is right! I was really pissed off about that, but, what could I do about it? We now have a new governor of the great state of WI and I voted for him and he is doing a stellar job. I think we need more people of his caliber in office and I will vote for him again as long as he keeps up “the good work”.
        Form letters is all I usually get back from Congressional representatives. Disgusting.

Just as the Roman citizens sat in the great coliseum and cheered as the lions tore apart the Christians the American citizens sat in front of their wide screen televisions and view their warriors on the battle fields and the trial of mothers who kill their own children. With all the problems this nation has and all the harmful results of government policies that have pushed our economy to the breaking point the people are drawn to the magnetism of the media to bypass their own reality. When the news was first blasted out about the failure of lending institutions, Banks and automobile companies it came out of the blue in a in a few weeks, but just two weeks before, everything was just fine said the media and the congress. All the early warnings from experts trying to alert the people were neatly buried in small columns in the back pages of newspapers and spun over by network television. Those who were in charge knew exactly what was going on and they scrambled to fill their pockets with cash in preparation to jump ships that was sure to sink. They failed to have lifeboats and life preservers for their passengers who were sure to drown. But alas” the chosen one appeared and saved them! They stayed onboard and kept the cash in their pockets but their passengers all drowned. The ships were a lot lighter and the Presidential suite was prepared for one big paying passenger, “The Government”. The same bad Captions were still at the helm but there was a (change) that took place. One passenger was now dictating the destination and the Caption is ordered to follow the course. This passenger who knows nothing about navigating the ocean is setting the same course that has produced shipwrecks around the world. Now the message is coming back to warn the people that there are no more handouts to be had without borrowing billions to cap the trillions of arrears to prolong a reality that no one wants to accept. The dominos are in line and it will only be one that will bring down the rest. There will be rioting in the streets led by those who never worked to produce a living. They will loot and destroy cities. The liberals will scream the loudest for a socialist government to save them and the conservatives will say nothing but organize nationwide to form a defense. There will be a move against conservatives but it will be defeated and the nation will regain the principals our forefathers had established to secure prosperity and freedom for our children. God help us!

      Our problem is that we allow our representatives to serve in Congress to long.
      We know the Congress will never limit there term in office, they have to much over us and it is the greatest job in the world.
      It is a problem of our making, but there is a solution.
      The simple solutions is TERM LIMITS, VOTER IMPOSED.
      Just think what would happen on November 6th 2012 if we simply VOTED FOR THE OTHER GUY OR GAL. Dem in office vote for Republican. Republican in office vote for the Dem.
      And keep on voting for the other Guy or Gal until the Congress gets around to passing a TERM LIMOS Amendment to the U.S.Constitution

      J C I have to comment your last paragraph. Today we have to protest against representation without taxation, since close to 50% pay no federal income tax. Do you consider unions as rich. They spend millions to influence their friends in the democratic party. They have been trying to leave Washington State for 20 years. Upper management is only interested in their salaries/bonuses and don’t really care if the company goes bankrupt. GE was the company that was ran bhy Jeffrey Immelt, Obama’s old buddy who is on some kind of a board under Obama. I heard that GE was the one responsible for having Congress to force us to buy light bulbs from China beginning in 2014. Apparently GE has a company in China and realized they could make them cheaper so Congress passed a law forbidding anyone from making light bulbs in the US.       Harry, McCain was upfront and willing to provide any documentation requested immediately. He produced his live certificate of birth and everything was found to be in order due to his father’s active military assignement at the time. In contrast, Obama refused to produce the documents requested, he did not intially provide a live certificate of birth, and to boot he spent millions of dollars fighting the release in court. Now after almost 3 years in office he produces the document we have been asking for from the beginning? Something is fishy in denmark folks! Obama has been nothing but deceitful the entire time he has been in office. His charm (I don’t find him charming) and good looks (I don’t find him good looking either) as touted by the press have all the americans of color all googly eyed and they will vote for him based on those premises alone. We have a long uphill battle to get this man out of office – everyone needs to get out and vote.
      How about a quick quiz before you are allowed to vote. If you can’t name the president’s running mate and atleast two platforms that he/she is running on you are not allowed to vote because you are making an uneducated decision. We live in the age of inormation, the majority can no longer be fooled. The People are enraged, not unlike the anger expressed in 1776. A number of liberals have jumped ship already, they see the handwriting on the wall, they know the people are livid and seek justice.

    536 elected officials and 9 Supreme Court Justices have been charged with the stewardship of this Great Nation of 300+ million people, and have squandered the equity our founders established. Reactionary words by Republicans in the media, which describe with surprise and horror what the Democrats are doing is laughable, and destructive to their cause. Talk is cheap, Americans want action. Republicans can show they are serious by starting legal proceedings against the imposters who usurp the Constitution, rendering it meaningless. If we are a nation of Law, and we are, then the more Conservative party (Republican) must legally challange those who are hell bent on destroying what the founders have established by charging them civily, or criminally for their transgressions against the Constitution and the will of the People. The situation is both urgent and grave. Some of these imposters have committed treasonous offenses.

    My advice to the RNC/GOP is to stop asking the People for support, unless you are ready to go on the offensive by charging these transgressors, by asserting the power you know you have as the majority party in the House. The onus is on the Republican party to start reversing the situation we currently endure. The People will support the party that is willing to unseat the imposters. Unless the Republican party gets serious, history will record it as the party who allowed the usurpers to establish socialism and betray “We the People”. If it were possible, the founders are rolling in their graves. The only thing that will stop this insanity is to criminally and/or civily charge the transgressors through the power of the Law. The only thing these maniacal imposters respond to is power, we therefore should accommodate them with powerful lawful charges. The People wait to see if the Republican party is just another defensive party seeking survival, or will take up the offensive task by surprising the usurpers when they least expect it, just as George Washington took the offensive when the Brits least expected it in 1776.     Has anyone else noticed that when Obama appeared in the Oval Office to give his latest speech. The American flag wasn’t there but a gold tapestry was. The designs on that tapestry sure looked islamic to me.
    Now, on the Constitution. Obama should of been impreached his first year in office. He served as the President of the UN Security Council,thus representing a foriegn government.

Anyone who doesn’t think this stuff is going on, only need look at the list of attendees at this years Builderburg meeting in Switzerland. Any U.S. citizen in attendance at this meeting should be placed under arrest for treason! One other thing that belongs in your article; Mr. Obama (he not legally president, so I’m not calling him that anymore!) has ignored the laws concerning the security of our borders, I find it harder to get out of this country legally for American citizens, then it is for foreigners to enter illegally! Last, but not least, is Mr. Obama’s allegiance to the United Nations instead of the country he swore to protect and serve! Just think, Mr. Obama’s push for amnesty for all illegals will include himself. Maybe this is why he doesn’t want the cat out of the bag too soon! This could happen if the law was written with this in mind! Now all we have to do is find a way to reclaim what is rightfully ours! The corruption runs so deep, it may come down to a revolutionary war! God I pray not, give us another answer!

    Congress needs to take the money away from the EPA and defund all agencies that are assuming legislative powers. The actions of these agencies are illegal and needs to be stopped before they do irrepairable harm to the nation. There is no approved budget for 2012.       DaveH, I can’t speak for other states, but in Texas, you are NOT required to stop for an unmarked police car. They aren’t suppose to even attempt traffic stops because they are in unmarked cars.

        DaveH, while they aren’t suppose to, there are some officer who attempt it. The general rule (especially since most of us have a cell phone now) is to call 911 and advise them that an apparent unmarked vehicle is attempting to stop you and that you are going to a police or fire station or a very public place…especially if you are a woman. That notifies the police dept that they need to advise the officer (assuming he is a real one) that the party in the car is not blatantly ignoring them OR it lets them know they need to send a squad car to protect a citizen from a fake police car.

      DaveH, you know, even though I am a retired police officer, I agree with you on this. When police officers break into a home by a no knock situation, it is dangerous for the family in the home, and the police. If some one would break in my home during the night hours, I would also be grabbing my weapon as any other sensible man with a weapon would do. I am strickly against breaking into a home without knocking first, and then announcing that you are the police. In fact, this is dangerous also as anyone could say they are the police. I am all for Law and Order. I am also for protecting the rights of our citizens.

    I’m from SC and quite proud of the good effort Senator Jim DeMint is making to protect our freedom. He has written an excellent book called SAVING FREEDOM that every American should read. He is trying to get term limits for Congress so we can no longer be saddled with career politicians instead of statesmen that must go back and live with the people they represented. Senator Jim DeMint has an excellent voting record. I write him all the time and I am happy to say I get real letters back from him. In my most recent letter to him, I asked what was being done by Congress about the fact that acting-President Obama attacked Libya without Congressional authority. He responded that he and others were very outraged over that and were pursuing action through the proper committee, of which he is a memeber. …Sorry I can’t remember the name of the specific committee and I’ve already passed the letter on to a friend or I would quote from it directly. It sounded much like the outrage I’ve heard expressed here.

    The point I’m making is that there are still good men who are fighting in Congress. They struggle to network with others to push good legislation through and to prevent bad legislation from passing. Many of them lose sleep over what is happening in our nation and their limited abilities to stop it. I hate to hear people lump all the Congressmen in together as being losers that don’t listen to the American people. True patriots need to understand that some patriotic people make the huge sacrifice of serving in Congress–not just gabbing on blogs–these patriots make this sacrifice knowing they will be ridiculed, financially-damaged, ostracized, blamed for things beyond their control, etc. They know that the most-funded, liberal Congressmen will rule the day in most cases. They know that to win in Congress, you have to be willing to act in corrupt ways. They refuse to do so and pay for it with having a limited sphere of influence. Before we dump them all, I encourage you to actually check out how all of them vote. Check out what legislation they introduce. Who are they networking with on important legislation?

    I was shocked and dismayed a couple of years ago to discover at a Town Hall meeting that most Americans don’t have a clue about the dangers of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child. Senator Jim DeMint, however, has sponsored a Parental Rights Amendment in an all out effort to save our nation’s families from the horrific injustices that are occuring in other nations. In Germany, SWAT-type teams descend on houses and rip children out of parents’ arms to hide them for months in secret locations because the parents were accused of the heinous crime of…..home education! Folks, some of the best legal minds in our country have been faithfully working to protect us from evils we don’t even know about. Pray for those Congressmen who ARE trying to stand in the gap. It is a lonely place for them and they are very under-appreciated. If you do not know about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, I urge you to contact http://www.ParentalRights.org and get educated on this matter. Hilary Clinton and Barbara Boxer vowed to rush this thing through. America and Somalia are the only countries that have not ratified it. If you read the wording, it will keep you up at night.

      Elevenarrows is confusing the German law with the UN’s law:Convention of the Rights of a Child. The German law should be stricken form their books since it was written during a disturbing time and did allow for government abuse. The UN law would allow the right to life for a child (under 18)childhood development and survival without being abused.It would encourage good child health and education. That would supersede the German law. Most decent parents already treat their children well and encourage them to be educated so it won’t effect the majority of Americans. Hopefully it would encourage the 3rd world nations to get their children educated and not just being parental property they can do what they want with.No one wants a child to be government property either so it will be an interesting debate.

    Gov Rick Perry should have told Washington…Go ahead and when the flights stop, SO WILL EVERY DROP OF OIL THAT IS REFINED IN TEXAS! Given we refine the bulk of the oil that is used in the other 49 states, I think that might have been a battle they didn’t want to try to fight.

      well, to be honest, yes they would have fought it…Eric Holder’s office would have come out in full force just as they did against AZ, HOWEVER, by the time they got a court order to force Texas to open the oil flow back up, the country would have come to a standstill, even if it was briefly.

      By the way, don’t fall for the Rick Perry for President. He was re-elected for his third term because the Dems fielded Bill White…who made Houston a sanctuary city. No self respecting Texans wanted to see Texas become a “sanctuary State” (more than what it already is).

You can see that Sarah Palin released 24000 of her emails. She did not try to get a court order to hide these e-mails like Obama did. Now please tell me who has things in their past they want to keep hidden from the public. The NYT jumped all over this one, even asking the public’s help in going through these Palen’s e-mails to see if they could dig up and dirt on her. Hey! why didn’t they do the same thing to Anthony Weiner? I don’t know about anyone else, but I think they are protect their own kind, and only want to dig up dirt on a good decent woman Conservative like Sarah Palin. Anyone with any sense at all know that this is not right. I’ll bet it was a big let down for them when they could not find anything. Of course they never tried to do this on Obummer, either. I don’t know how anyone could ever buy a paper from the crooked NYT Newspaper that supports the Democratic Liberal Communist Regine. I tell you what, if I was a Democrat today, I would be ashamed to admit it with all the dirt they have cause and with our economy in the shape it is in. Down with this man in 2012.

      Steve, I am one of those moderates but I don’t stand on the line. In most cases, a moderate evaluates each thing, not just adopt a “there’s only one point of view” approach…that’s exactly what has gotten out country in the fix it is now!

      Both parties are corrupt and selling Americans a “bill of goods” that does not reflect what Americans truly believe or want, but every election year we go to the polls and continue to put the same trash in office. I vote for the person, not the party. And if they don’t perform, they don’t get my vote again, when their re-election comes up.

      As an example, I believe in helping those who need help, however, the way welfare is structured, it’s designed to keep people down, not uplift them. It leads to a lot of waste and a lot of fraud, the way it currently is administered. The better solution would be to establish a genuine minimum living wage, for whatever the family size is but MAKE (not this 2 yrs and your off program) them work (and pay in taxes)for it. No work, no money. Those who have been on the dole for generations know exactly how to get around the two yr requirement. The welfare system has day care provisions, so that is no longer an excuse for not working. Many single moms (I was one) who rarely see a child support check, get up and go to work, everyday. They often just barely make ends meet but they still support & take care of their children. So should those who recieve welfare assistance.

      As for the wars…my youngest daughter has many friends, including a boyfriend, who have or are serving in Afghanistan & Iraq (the boyfriend comes home in the morning! Yea!). From what they say, we are still there because THEY give the radical islamic’s a target, in the Middle East, instead of in US cities. They also seem to feel they are better equipped to fight them, there, than they would be on US soil. Do I agree with that…no. I don’t think one US soldier or Marine’s life is worth sacrificing, for the Middle East but then…I’m not on the ground in the Middle East so I yield to their opinions, since they do know. Do I disagree with us being anywhere near Lybia, Yemen, etc…HELL YES!

      Last but not least….am I a supporter of Obama…NO! I would vote for Ron Paul, instead of a Republican or Democrat. So see, it depends on what the subject is, as to how far I swing. Paul is considered ultra conservative, even “radical”, by many….and I like everything he says!

      When people are too lazy to look at the big picture, they tend to go with one party without knowing what another candidate has to offer and that, my friend, is what causes the masses to be decieved and become their own self inflicted victim. Apathy has been the downfall of more than one nation.

    I am very curious how many on this forum had voted for Obummer in 2008, but will not vote for him in 2012. I am sure that some of you who voted for him may be too ashamed to admit it. I am one who did not particularly like John McCain, but I thought that he would be the best between the two candidate so I voted McCain/Palin. Anyone else care to comment?

          Two mistakes don’t make a right, Eddie. Same old thing, the voters were asleep at the switch two different times. I don’t believe you will find any Conservatives who would uphold Nixon, so therefor you should not uphold, Obama either. We know we are worse off today then we were 2 1/2 years ago. A person would have to be a fool to vote for Obama the second time around. Remember, Bush drove the car in the ditch, Obama drove it on over the hill even though he promised to get it out of the ditch. Even if Obama was a Conservative, I’d vote against him because he has failed the American People.

    Writing letters and calling your reps. has little effect. Until the American people understand that both parties are walking hand-in-hand (good cop/bad cop), there will never be any changes. I do feel sorry for people such as KevinL who are brainwashed or totaly uninformed as to what the politicians goal is, which is the total destruction of America as we know it. My personal opinion is that the ONLY hope we have is in the election of Ron Paul in 2012. The media, democrats, and even the republican party demean this candidate in order to make him seem unelectable.         There is a way for our votes to be transparent and easily tallied, but the citizens will have to get together and demand it, because the Government sure isn’t going to promote it.
        We could have two databases for each election. One database would store the ‘voter information’ (Identification, address, polling place, etc.). And the other database would store the ‘votes cast’ with a unique alphanumeric ID which would be given to each voter at the polling place. The polling place would also be stored on this database to identify problem polling places. Only the voter would know his alphanumeric ID so secrecy would be preserved. And the voter would be given a printout to verify how he/she voted.
        The database would be accessible by the public. Anyone or any organization could check the ‘voter information’ database to see if any illegal voters cast votes. The votes in the ‘votes cast’ database could be easily tallied by anyone to see if votes were counted correctly and that the number of votes matched the number of voters in the ‘voter information’ database. Also, an individual voter would be able to check his alphanumeric ID to see that his votes are in the database correctly, and if not, he/she could notify the proper authorities or the proper news media. The ‘votes’ database could be corrected periodically to account for any corrections that were made by citizens claiming their votes were not entered correctly, or votes discovered to be made by dead people, convicts, etc.
        This kind of system would be much cheaper and more accountable than anything I’ve seen.

          That is an interesting idea, DaveH. Definitely something needs to be done…that we know for sure as the voter fraud is alive & well.

          Good food for thought…perhaps if enough of us at the multi-state level were to push for a revision, we might see some legislation on it. Nothing will be done though by the people in power…they actually wouldn’t want more accountability…obviously, we know why.

      We don’t need the TSA. We just need some common sense and free markets. Leave airlines alone to institute their own rules. Some might offer the illusion of the security of Groping, and others might offer to let licensed individuals carry on board. Yes, there may be some shootouts, but in the long run the terrorists would find it much easier to shoot up a crowded theater or mall or other such gathering. The 9/11 attacks wouldn’t have been possible in the first place if the passengers hadn’t been turned into helpless sheep by the controlling do-gooders.
      And maybe if we weren’t busily messing in every other countries’ business there wouldn’t be so many terrorists in the first place.

    I also write Lindsey Graham and I also call his office on a regular basis. I am obsessed with removing him from office…as I did with Bob Inglis! Enough of us had finally had enough. Graham usually sends a form letter to me on whatever issue I write about. I can tell it is a form letter because it usually restates whatever the legislation/issue is and gives his “official” postion on it or that he is not disclosing his official position at that time. I try to pass his letters along to friends in organizations in an effort to educate people on what his positions really are. I could not believe he voted for Sotomayor! That was the straw that broked this camel’s back.

    One last thing, Karolyn, I was really horrified over how awful Jim Hodges was. I’m convinced the lottery money put him in office. He was am embarrassment to our state. However, Campbell was certainly a feather in our cap. I loved some of Sandford’s policies, but was very disappointed that a man of such caliber fell for one of the oldest temptations in the world. Overall, I’ll take Conservative leadership in SC. We still have one of the best states in the Union.

    What we need is a tax revolt. If every business in America refused to send in their taxes, report their taxes, there wouldn’t be enough man power, or courts to enforce the law. When the Federal government becomes an enemy of the people, the people have the right, the obligation to remove all people in the government and to over throw the unlawful laws. I for one have had it…. I won’t listen to them anymore, and I refuse to think they have the citizens interest at heart. Federal government workers are selfish to the core and ruthless in waving a piece of worthless piece of paper that says you have to do something, or pay something just because they say so.       A work stoppage might work though. If enough people just quit producing goods it might cripple Washington, but then again they could just print more money and buy the goods from foreign countries.

      The German laws go back to the 1930′s that is why I said they should abolish it. Only two countries under the UN umbrella haven’t signed the newer(1989) treaty:the USA and Somalia. The treaty is supposed to keep children out of the armed services,keep children out of prostitution and ban child pornography. I don’t see where that has done much good since child pornography is all over the USA. Child soldiers are still in other countries that are UN signers also. The UN is sometimes like our Congress,no backbone and little money.

    One should pay more attention to the court system not enforcing the fiduciary duty of the boards of directores to the stockholders. The judges have received so much insider for investing that they can not preside over a case for fiduciary duty. The defendent would say, Judge do you remember the inside information I gave you. Also the large corporations investing in Chinese factories and hiring Chinese managers who abuse the Chinese workers. Forcing 60 hours of work with 40 hours of pay to get cheaper cost of production. Then shipping the products to the United States with very high markups. Congress did not support the American workers or the Chinese workers. Higher wages to the Chinese worker would have meant more domestic consumption for China and less need for destruction of work positions all over the world. Congress presents demands for better work situations in China while supporting large business abuses both at home and abroad.

    The war in Libya was never so pressing that we couldn’t have Congress deliberate about it. If they struck it down, good. If they wanted the President and the war planers to answer deep questions, good. We shouldn’t be too hasty. It’s certainly not like there was an eminent defensive need for action. A friend of mine said, no we can’t do that, Congress would take too long, people are dying, we have to go in there or more people will die. Well, Obama took over 21 days to deliberate about it himself as I recall. As for the life saving argument, more people have probably died since we entered with our NATO bombing support because unlike the claims of securing a cease fire or no fly zone, our actions emboldened rebels to keep fighting, keep waging war, and to keep dying in many battles, instead of finding a more peaceful solution. Last but not least, I agree, it’s sad to see Congress abdicate their responsibilities. So many people think the President could do this, and I say no. In fact I would support impeaching him for it. Only Congress has the power to declare war, period. Even though Congress tries to give away their powers to the president for 60 days, or whatever extra constitutional law they passed to do that, those laws are not the constitution, so they are crap. I long for the days like in WWII where even after Pearl Harbor the president thought there was plenty of time to take a declaration of war to vote in Congress.

      I am not this ‘James’ but I agree in essence. Only Congress has the power to declare war (Art. I, Sec, 8, Cl. 11). The War Powers Resolution of 1973 allows the president to defend the United States (without a declaration or authorization of war) if the United States, or its territories or possessions, or its armed forces are under attack or an attack is imminent. The War Powers Resolution came about because someone wondered if the president could defend the United States, without violating his oath of office, should Congress be in recess?

    FEMA Camps: Interesting question that. Last week, we read that FEMA advertised a RFP and then revoked it for the procurement of 240 million dehydrated meals. They have historically kept 6 million meals in inventory. Also reported was that a large, domestic producer of these ‘survival’ meals was working very hard to fill a large, current FEMA order (so large that the company shut down all sales to their regular customers, we’re told). So, a rational person would ask, what is FEMA up to? Even if one was to suspect a lie as a response, it would be entertaining to hear it. But maybe that’s just me.

    I don’t think Congress has passed a law as such in years. What they do is pass a bill like Oblamacare – and set up an agency to actually make and enforce the laws. As long as the “regulations” (another word for “laws”) fall somewhere generally under the blanket Congress sets up identifying that agency’s authority, they are legal.

    I believe that EVERY law should be required to be passed by Congress. A regulation as put out by the EPA or any other agency should have no authority until Congress votes on it. We need to get that done.

    What is wrote in this article about the police is true. In my town, the city deemed it necessary to put foot patrol at busy intersections looking for people with no seat belts. Recently they busted in the doors of numerous people looking for an individual who robbed a store, only to learn he fled the state. But yet, there has been 3 murders in the last year which are all unsolved. In my opinion, there should be half the number of police. Many of these cops let their imaginations run wild with accusations, some unfounded. They literally harass everyday people, however, they (cops) do not follow the same laws.

Right now, Agenda 21 of the UN is affecting local communities and I find that most people don’t know…which is a shame, but even worse, I find that most people really don’t care. In our area, Agenda 21 was the catalyst for tree regulations. Seems like the UN doesn’t think it is “green” for home owners to decide when to cut down a tree. The battle is ongoing, but if they win, we will have to apply for permission to remove trees and other vegetation….which will of course, result in taxes for permits,etc. There is also debate over whether or not a home owner can be told “best use” of his land. As a farmer and meat producer (small scale) and even just as an American, I don’t want or need gov’t deciding these things for me. As a small business owner, I am even being taxed on the old sofa in my office!

    I just wonder if any of the Bilderbergers or CFR members or Tri-Lateral members who want to rule the world (and already are really)realize that eventually, you can’t get blood out of a turnip?! What happens to their evil empire once there are no more revenues to bolster it because all of us are bankrupt?!

    Where our vacation home is (NC) our county wants you to feel out a form every year listing ANY improvements you’ve made to your house or land…a fence, a patio, new windows, etc. and then they increase your taxes accordingly. It encourages people to let their houses fall apart rather than know that their taxes will constantly increase. You might can avoid telling about inside things, but they use satellite imagery for the outside. Our founders never imagined….shoot, even I never imagined this kind of intrusion.

      Presidents aren’t impeached by petition. Perhaps you might like to become a little more familiar with the Constitution.

      There is no need to impeach him…as he is obviously unqualified and ineligible for the office that he holds. We remove him & nullify all that he has done. It’s the surest & fastest way to fix what he himself has done. Now…once we do that…why stop? Expose the rest of the social degenerates who are linked to him which of course, would create a massive vacuum in our government at the Federal & State levels. This is ok…were American’s. We will survive it. It may hurt alittle at first but we will all be…OK. We are a resilient bunch of Red Necks! :)

      Oh…crap…I can’t resist it. This also would be felt in every single city of America and perhaps stimulate the second Anti-Masonic movement as America & the rest of the world opens their eyes to the truth about this secret organization with their attempts to create the New World Order.

      Never hear of the first Anti-Masonic movement? I wouldn’t be surprised as it’s downplayed by the people who control our media, Hollywood and our money supply. I bet you didn’t hear about it in the history books back in school now did you…and who are the people who control those 3 powerful forces that we live with every day and that helps to shape our very lives? The very same groups that caused the movement to being with in the first place. They have been manipulating virtually everything for a very long time.

    This administration has done everything one can think of to defraud the US and disrupt the government, steal, lie about intent and collude to get around law. Our congress is about as helpful as a slow moving herd of cattle and just about as smart, the Judiciary acts like someone smacked it across the face and is PO’d at the American people. Free speech is under fire, gun laws are more threatened than ever and habeas corpus and the right to privacy has been whittled away by the courts and now our military has to go against their sacred beliefs and put up with homosexualism or else.

    Yeah, just off hand I”d say we got a real rough road to hoe if we intend to reclaim the country and put the Constitution back in charge.

It wasn’t Obama who started the war against Iraq, a sovereign country that had made no aggressive moves against the USA. It was not Obama who sent troops into Afghanistan while Osama bin Laden laughed his rear off from Pakistan. It was not Obama who pushed through that blatantly unconstitutional abomination called the “Patriot Act” that gutted the civil rights of Americans and created the American version of the Gestapo that is free to access any and all of our records without informing us and in fact making it illegal for others to tell us. It allows them to arrest us, lock us up without charging us or allowing us legal representation. It allows TSA goons to sexually assault anyone who chooses to or must fly on an airplane. Oh, no, this monstrosity was a gift of the Bush administration, although only one lone senator had both the sense and the cojones to vote against it. Admittedly, Obama signed an extension of portions of it, an action that I roundly condemn.

    Where were all of you back in 2001 when this was being railroaded through Congress? Did none of you realize the danger or were you so busy wetting your pants in fear that you were willing to give up your freedoms in exchange for an always illusory safety? Did it not occur to you that no matter how much you might trust the current administration (what a joke!) that inevitably the time would come when that one would be replaced by another you might find less palatable? If you didn’t scream bloody murder then, you shouod just shut the hell up now.

    I will say it again,the EPA is the most dangerous organization in America.In some instances they have done some good,however, in most instances they have hurt America and done more harm to our economy
    than any 20 things have.I`m glad you can breath better and when there aren`t any jobs for you to make money to eat or a roof over your head
    or a way to get to the doctor when your sick,boy ,just take in a breath of fresh air and say does that ever taste good.The EPA has gained to much power and have over regulated our way of life where they are driving us back to the stone age. A lot of people are making a lot of money on a lot of things that don`t work. There has to be a happy in between man and mother nature for it to work and us to be able to prosper as a nation. It can`t be one sided and if it is, we will be a complete failer.

    Chuckb,You are right Congress are afraid. I do, however,think it`s the rinos and not the young new Congressman that are the scardy cat.
    The are so afraid of losing power that it`s holding back the young
    bucks and they are having a hard time getting started.I would like to see Michele Bachman replace John Boehner as Speaker.Now, I don`t think she is afraid and would put the Progressives in their place. I would like to see the rinos out fund raising and leave the politics to the young who we voted in 2010. The Rinos have been there so long,they seam to think they own the Republican Party. They need to step aside,we saw how they handled the budget. We don`t need Palin,Trump or Bachman to run for President. We need them out along with Gingrich

    country has ever had. At this time I don`t think we need to take a chance on a women for President.The stakes are to high and in saying
    that, I do believe Palin and Bachman will and must play an important roll in getting our next President elected.I would like also for Christy to have a lead roll in this batle comming up. We have the weapons to get the job done if every one checks their egos at the door

    We talk a lot about unconstitutional things going on. However, no one says anything about the unconstitutional way we directly elect a president every 4 years. No where in the constitution are the people given authority to popularly elect the president. The Framers’ did not design a multi-billion dollar beauty contest; or want the best elections that money can buy! The bigger the circus, the more clowns get in office. We claim that constitutional government was destroyed by the machinations of party politics.

    The Constitution is a framework that was created over 250 years ago and was not all encompassing. The Constitution does allow for the Congress to make laws and enforcement of those laws. Maybe you should go back to school and find out the difference between law, policy, standards, guidance, and regulation. So before you spout out you opinion, go validate it in the laws of the country since.

      First, I am not the ‘James’ that wrote this or ‘James’ comment above. The U.S. Constitution created the federal government and delegated certain powers to it in Article I, Section 8. Time was, when Congress introduced a Bill it started with “Pursuant to Article I, Section 8, Clause ___, we …. Now, new bills just start with the law itself, hence they have enacted many laws that were beyond their constitutional authority. A recent survey from the Republicans asked if Congress should resume that original practice. That’s at least a step in the right direction.

    As I used to drive back and forth from Sarasota to Bradenton to and from work, I noticed a fenced in area. However, the barbed wire on the top was not to keep me out as I drove by but those in. I often wonder what it was for. I did not know of any prison area near by…I just wonder.
