Alleged Anti-Muslim Filmmaker Arrested

September 28, 2012 by

PMLOS ANGELES, (UPI) –  A man behind the anti-Muslim film blamed for unrest in the Muslim world was arrested Thursday in Los Angeles for alleged probation violations, authorities said.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in California Thursday afternoon, court officials said in a news release.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies took Nakoula into custody Sept. 15 for what a department spokesman called a voluntary interview with probation officials. He covered his face as sheriff’s deputies escorted him from a home in Cerritos, Calif.

Karen Redmond, a spokeswoman for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, said at the time the Office of Probation in the Central District of California was evaluating whether Nakoula’s alleged involvement in producing the anti-Muslim film and posting it online violated his probation in a 2010 bank fraud conviction. Under the terms of his probation, he is not allowed to access the Internet without permission from his probation officer.

The film, “Innocence of Muslims,” depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a power- and sex-hungry bisexual pedophile of indeterminate parentage. It sparked protest at U.S. State Department facilities in dozens of nations, including some that turned violent.

Is it just me or is this America’s (Obama Admin.) way of saying we’re sorry to group of people that hate us and wish to do harm to us?

This administration will trample over any Americans 1rst amendment rights to CAVE-IN to extremists.
    Don’t do the right thing.
The film wasn’t the REAL problem anyway.
Just show the extremists how wimpy you are, BO.

What has freedom of speech have to do with his violation of probation? Just like always, the crooks thinks they can continue to violate, he did the crime and now he needs to do the time.

    • JimH

If he accessed the internet without the knowledge of his probation officer for anything else, would they have arrested him? Highly doubtful.
Just B.O. wimping out. They just got lucky finding a lame excuse.
Even parolies have freedom of speech, think about it.

Leave it to the non-thinker to just accept the arrest of the filmaker…yeah, he definately violated his supervised probation…but, do you really believe that this arrest isn’t another attempt to appease the very people that are going to continue their killing of non-mislims?

Purely political…they could have arrested him for probation violations back in July when the video first hit the internet airwaves…try thinking about that!
