Airplane Gets Stuck In Tulsa

TULSA, Okla., Aug. 18 (UPI) — A regional jet got stuck on the runway at the Tulsa International Airport, officials say.

Delta flight 5039 from Tulsa to Atlanta was attempting to make a turn on the taxiway Thursday morning when its front wheel went off the pavement and onto the grass, The Tulsa (Okla.) World reported.

“There is no easy way to get the plane out of the grass with people and baggage on board,” airport spokeswoman Alexis Higgins said.

The 47 passengers on the flight had to be taken off the plane along with their baggage so airport personnel could move the plane.

No other flights were delayed and the main runway remained open.
